Smoke to Text | HitFilm Particle Tutorial + Preset - Duration: 4:50.
Today we'll be using particles to turn smoke into text in HitFilm.
You can download a template for this effect for free on the Preset Marketplace.
Although it is possible to add the Atomic Particles effect to Express, I'm also going
to be using the Particle Simulator, which is Pro only.
This tutorial borrows elements from one of Axel's videos on Atomic Particles, be sure
to check that out if you haven't seen it.
I'm Javert Valbarr for inScapeDigital.com, let's get started.
I'll begin by creating a text layer and inputting my title.
For the font, I used Bank Gothic MD.
Add the Atomic Particle effect directly onto the text layer.
Come down to Particle Placement, Number of Particles and turn both the X and Y to over
1,000.
This will stop any gaps from appearing in the completed text.
The Fractal settings are where you can twist and distort the text to make it look more
like smoke.
Let's turn up the Displace Strength to 200 and raise the Disperse slightly.
Now turn the Wavelength down until the title becomes unreadable.
Finally, I'll lower the Speed so that it doesn't waver as much.
This doesn't really look like smoke, though.
Let's add a Blur effect to soften it up.
We're going to lose detail because of this, and that's why the next step is to use a
Particle Simulation to bring back some of the texture.
I'm going to use a preset here, called PS Rising Quad.
This is one of 10 pre-built simulations that I've put together, and which you can find,
of course, on the Preset Marketplace.
The benefit of using this is that now I don't have to take the time to set up the Alpha
properties, or Position the Shape, and it even has some variation set in the Appearance
and Movement properties.
I'll drop that onto the timeline, then set the Trajectory to Implode.
It's just barely not wide enough, so I'll go to the Shape and increase the width of
the Quad.
One thing about the Implode trajectory is that when the particles reach the middle,
they get shot back out again.
I'm going to come down to Movement and decrease the Speed and Life until that stops happening.
I want the distribution of particles across the text to be a bit more even.
Real quick, I'll just come up to General, Time Shift and set that to -1 second to have
the particles on screen at the start.
For Appearance I'll use the Fire Ferocity 1 texture.
I'll lower the Scale and Speed a little.
Here is what the particles look like by themselves, without the text underneath.
Once you've got that first simulation set up, duplicate the Emitter and change the Seed
under General.
Then set the Texture to Shockwave Ripple Trail.
I'll make these bigger to add atmosphere.
Let's transition the smoke to the text.
I'll hide the actual particles so that I can focus on the text layer first.
All you have to do is come into the Controls Panel, and keyframe the Displace and Disperse
strength down to 0 over a couple of seconds.
I'll set the keyframes to Smooth as well.
Obviously the Blur is still taking effect, I'll keyframe the Radius to go down too.
For the particles I'll search for "per second" in the Controls panel to bring up
the properties for both Emitters.
Then keyframe the Particles Per Second property to go to 0, similar to the text itself.
So as you have seen, we're not actually turning text into smoke.
We're creating the illusion that it's doing so by stacking layers and particles
until it looks like one formation.
The ink videos that you see on the side are from a Creative Dojo Ink FX contest a couple

owner about seven thousand dollars and
you might be thinking that's a lot for
2001 and it is but this car is flying me
out of coilovers it's got a roll bar and
it's got a hardtop as well this car was
originally about twenty one thousand
dollars new in addition to the purchase
price of about seven thousand dollars
this car is about fourteen hundred
dollars worth of work into it including
a new clutch a new flywheel so we're
going to call this car eighty four
hundred dollars worth of car this 2005
porsche boxster was purchased for about
seven eight hundred dollars now the
transmission was broken so immediately
the owner put in a brand new
transmission with some labor and so that
brings the car up to about nine thousand
dollars when this car was brand new it
was forty five thousand dollars it goes
without saying that these are very
different cars mazda has always stuck
with a really simple formula which is a
lightweight car good handling and
front-engine rear-drive very affordable
but what makes it similar to the Porsche
this is the car that saved Porsche early
in the 90s around 1993 Porsche was only
selling 14,000 cars globally they were
selling 3,000 in the US Porsche actually
looked to me oughtta they look to mazda
for inspiration on a low priced car that
was affordable and of course this is not
the first but really the most successful
mass-produced mid-engine car let's check
out the motor in this parsha enough talk
let's go for a drive I mean the 2005
porsche boxster one of my overall
impressive
it feels very very planted
the brakes are really really good pretty
typical portion of breaks the
predominant character of this car is
it's just planted when it's on roads
like this so to sum it up this is a
great bargain sports car for under ten
thousand dollars this is phenomenal now
we're in the miata first impression no
power at all no power at all you really
gotta have your foot kinda thing this
card is a little bit more nervous in the
Porsche the steering is good the gearbox
is really good in this car really does
have a lot of grip because it's so light
but you've got to be more on top of this
card overall for under ten thousand
dollars this is a great car but it's not
the bargain that the Porsche is I've
given both cars and the owners have
driven to each other's cars too so let's
talk to them and get their thoughts so
you've just driven the miata in a really
windy section and what are your overall
impressions with the car the handling is
great the gearbox is fantastic little
down on power there's tons of grip it's
a very lightweight very balanced you
chuck it in a little too hard it's going
to get loose if you hit a bump mid
corner it's gonna throw you out any
negative the engine I like the brakes in
the Boxster better they'll stop you a
little faster than these will overall
compared to your car which is a Boxster
on a tight winding section like this
what's your overall impression it's
still fun I still prefer the box there i
mean it's got more power it's definitely
a more solid car you can feel the weight
difference is just more weight in the
steering there's more feels more serious
this you can really get it to rotate
quickly if you you know if you chuck it
and lift it'll really kind of start to
rotate really quickly overall compared
to the miata on a road like this what do
you prefer I don't know that I prefer
one over the other I know that when I
got in the Boxster I can felt more
relaxed I felt more like I'm in a car
driving along whereas I know and me out
on roads like this I'm always on edge
like a little more clenched to
everywhere I'd go driving miata so it's
you know it's a different experience and
this definitely is
faster not saying otherwise unsecured
tires and it's got a lot more engine I
don't want to look short I'm going to
stand in the dish let's talk about
operating costs obviously this is the
big white elephant in the room obviously
the Porsche is a much more expensive car
to begin with let's talk about operating
costs day to day what are you getting at
terms of gas mileage 28 to that day
usually 30 but I do a lot of freeway
driving so well I do more mix driving I
do a lot of canyons in the car I average
about 23 now let's talk about
maintenance so does the regular
maintenance what do you spend on an oil
change is about a hundred bucks if I do
it myself it's not too bad 26 26 my last
set of tires was about 8 90 I think so
it set for the miata I'm like looking
right now is about 300 what about
unexpected stuff you had any of that yet
yes this is a one hundred dollar piece
of string that Porsche sells it keeps
tension on your soft top that's really
nice piece of string I got to admit what
are some of the things that you don't
like about your own cars I don't like
how difficult it is to work on my car I
have no access to my own motor oh I hate
the seats god I hate to see any oh
that's not good they're awful driving
each other's cars for under 10,000 bucks
on a road like this what do you guys
think so this is the big under 10,000
things that I'm going to bring up here
that Porsche is definitely not a
ten-thousand-dollar car it was extremely
well purchased with a broken
transmission realistically to get that
car it's going to be 12 to 15 depending
on condition so which car is the winner
for me it's got to be the Porsche the
Miata is a really nice car but it just
doesn't have the power yeah it's light
and handles really well but it's kind of
nervous and skitterish on the bumps on
these tight bends here the Porsche just
feels planted is still solid it's got a
fantastic sounding motor yes the shifter
isn't as good but overall it's just a
more enjoyable car to drive it's a
little bit more relaxed it's really
really designed for roads like this so
for this particular review I'm giving
the Porsche thumbs up if you want to
down there else down there or you can
stand there and I'm going to stand up
here seeing 13 take better

DIY: Bespoke Flower Box - Duration: 8:22.
Hello everyone and welcome back to my other video.
Today, I'm going to film some exciting and different video.
You probably have noticed that I'm in a different room
I normally film the videos in my bedroom
but for today, I'm going to film in the kitchen as I'm painting.
Today I'm going to make a bespoke flower box.
This is perfect for special occasions such as Mother's Day, Birthday or Wedding etc.
It's easy to make and exciting. It's also affordable.
You don't have to buy an expensive flower box like £70-£80
you can make the cheap ones.
There are the products I've bought, they're only £15 which is affordable.
They're from Hobby Craft.
I love this shop as they have a lot of choices to buy.
You can buy the box like mine, there are lots of shapes such as a heart etc.
You can buy any colour ribbons, there are lots of different colours.
You also can buy different types of flowers.
Just letting you know, the roses are fake.
I prefer fake flowers than real ones as they last forever.
I'm really excited to make this DIY video.
I have an example to show you.
My mum made it, we're making a lot of flower boxes.
This house is full up with flower boxes.
I will paint all over the box.
There are boxes that have the different sizes like small, medium and large.
I like this size as I can put many flowers I like in.
I'm going to paint white all over the box now.
I have white paint with me.
I've picked these colours as they're my favourite colours (pink and white).
What is this for?
Ahh, it helps flowers to stick in the box.
I have a paint brush with me.
I need to wear the gloves so the paint won't go all over my hands.
I'm putting the products away.
It's too tight!
Finally.
I forgot to peel the sticker off, oops.
You will need to make sure that you paint it smoothly to give it a soft look.
Do not stamp on it, smooth it.
It's simple and quick to paint.
Now, I'm going to paint inside the box which is a bit difficult.
You will need to be careful painting inside the box or the paint will spoil.
You will need to paint two layers to give it a smooth look and everything is white.
*trying to sign but I accidentally hit the wet paint*
I signed and it hits wet paint, this is deaf's way.
Make sure everything is painted white, not even missing bits.
Now, I'm going to leave it dry for half an hour.
I will put the box outside because the weather is lovely,
the sun will dry it quicker.
So, I'm waiting until it's dry so I can paint the second layer on it.
It would be better if you paint it straight, not twirling
otherwise, it'll look a bit of mess.
I've painted it twirl first then paint straight smoothly afterwards.
I'm going to leave them to dry first, then I can paint the second layer on it.
The half-hour is now over, I've painted two layers on them.
They're now dry.
I'm going to add the details around the box;
I'm adding a lovely glittery, pink ribbon around the box (centre)
then I'll cut the ribbon where they fit together then stick it together
using a glue gun.
You also will need a glue gun
so the ribbon will stay together.
Make sure you get the ribbon really tight so it won't drop.
Firstly, you will need to measure the ribbon making sure
they're perfect together then you can cut it to stick together.
It's perfect.
Now, I'm going to add a pretty bow on the middle of ribbon
where you stick the ribbon together to make it look pretty.
I have this pretty bow with me.
It's glittery, pink!
Again, I'm using a glue gun to stick the bow to the ribbon.
Let's move on with the foam brick.
This is called Dry Floral Foam Brick.
I love the feeling of it, I just love pressing it.
You will need to cut it to add into the box.
I've added the foam brick in the box, you will need to fit everything in it.
It doesn't matter how it look because I will cover it with a white tissue paper
to make it look nice.
You will need to tidy up the paper inside.
Don't worry, I won't stick these long flowers to it.
I will cut it shorter so I can fit the flowers in the box.
It'll look stupid if you leave them long and stick them into the box.
So, I'm going to cut them with this (cutter wireline).
Oh!
I feel like an angry person pulling things out.
I'm going to stick the white roses around pink roses
to give it a bunch of flowers look.
Adding the flowers in slide way to give it a nice look.
My mum is giving me an idea.
Adding the green leaves in some parts to give it a detailed look.
Ooo!
I'm going to add the diamond pins whole of the white roses
to give it a pretty, diamond look.
I'm going to pin in the middle of roses.

castle was actually put on backwards
when it was built I mean can you imagine
being Walt Disney like coming into work that
day and saying something doesn't look
right you put the top of the castle on
backward I mean that I'm pretty sure
that's a true fact I mean I've heard a
lot of people say that it doesn't look
awkward they decided to keep it the way
it was so it's on backwards still looks
beautiful to me this is the back of the
castle right here which was supposed to
be the front of the castle I don't think
it makes that much of a difference the
drawbridge here at Sleeping Beauty's castle
does work it does work last time it was
raised was in 1983 when fantasyland
was remodeled but it does work I don't
know if I'll see it in my lifetime maybe maybe
they'll do another remodel I don't know
maybe they will add a beauty and the
beast section permanently in fantasy
land and they will remodel

it is said that garbage cans can be
found within 30 feet from one another
throughout the park that means if you
see a garbage can if you walk 30 feet
there'll be another garbage can no
matter where you are in the park let's
see if that's true I wanted to go I'm
gonna I'm just going to pick the garbage
can at random the first one I see which
should be within 30 feet here's one
