The end of climate progress Trump administration plans to gut climate funding
It was probably clear, once President Donald Trump�s administration purged all climate
change information from the Environmental Protection Agency�s website, that President
Barack Obama�s global warming policies were in trouble.
Trump plans on issuing an executive order on Tuesday that would sweep away as much of
Obama�s environmental policies as possible, in particular those that address man-made
climate change, according to The Washington Post.
This will include lifting a moratorium on federal coal leasing and ending a requirement
that federal officials consider the potential impact on climate change when making policy
decisions.
Notably, the executive order does not address whether the United States should continue
to participate in the Paris climate change agreement of 2015.
A senior White House official briefed reporters on Monday evening, telling them that �this
policy is in keeping with President Trump�s desire to make the United States energy independent.
When it comes to climate change, we want to take our course and do it in our own form
and fashion.�
During a press call on Monday, a senior White House official said that �there are a number
of policies from the Obama administration that the president believes should be reviewed.
Some of them should be taken off the books immediately, to the extent that we can,�
according to ThinkProgress.
In addition to ending the coal moratorium and climate change impact directives, Trump�s
order will also repeal rules regulating fracking on public lands, require agencies to reconsider
the social cost of carbon, eliminate a federal flood risk management standard, and end an
action that promoted energy efficiency in federal buildings.

- In this video, I want to show you some of the ideas
that I really like to use when I'm improvising
over a minor seven chord.
So I'm going to take a C minor seven
and show you three different lines
and talk about the melodic building blocks
that make up those lines such as arpeggios,
scales, and chromaticism.
I think this is a really good way to demonstrate
how I combine different things in my playing,
and also give me a chance to talk about
some of the things that I didn't really work on
in a systematic way, like stuff I transcribed from solos.

In this first line, I'm starting off with a stack of 4ths.
That's the first arpeggio that I'm playing.
So, normally when you play a stack of 4ths,
you do that with a one note string,
kind of a pattern like this.
But, this is something that I transcribed
out of an Allan Holdsworth solo.
Actually it's from a YouTube Video
so I'll link to it in the description of this video.
And the idea is here that,
instead of using one note per string,
we just lay it out on two strings with a string skip,
so we get this.
And this is something that I kind of took it out
of that solo, and then I've been messing around with it,
and using it.
It works really well if you try to apply it
to pentatonic scales,
because pentatonic scales and stacks of 4ths
are really closely related.
So I've been messing around with that,
and maybe I'll make a video on that at some point soon.
So, first this arpeggio.
Also, already, like, quite a big range on this line.
From here I go down to the fifth of C minor, so the G.
And here, so this is also just like a basic C minor line,
so you here just I'm playing G, and then, actually,
what I'm doing is I'm playing this type of line,
so G and then leave the G and down to the C.
But instead of hitting the C,
I take a chromatic leading note below, so I go.
And then..
On the 1 of the next bar
I can just run up the scale.
And then I skip up to the seventh.
And then up to the root, so the octave where I pull off.
And then I take the last note, and it's this high G.
And the idea with that is
if you have these solo large intervals
at the end of the line, and you can still make it sound
sort of logical, then that really brings out
the ending of the line, and it's sort of
a nice chromatic fix, so it's something
that I mess around with a lot in my lines.

When you're improvising over a minor seven chord,
it's very important that you also know
some of the other arpeggios that you can use
from the scale, and that's kind of what I'm using
in this second line.
So, what I'm starting off with
is the arpeggio from the fifth,
so the G minor seven in this case.
And from there, the G minor seven
is an okay arpeggio to use on a C minor,
but you have to be a little careful
because you are missing the third,
so it can be difficult to really get the sort of the minor
and seven sound out of it.
But in this case, I'm using first a G minor seven,
and then I'm actually using that
to sort of really emphasize the third of the chord
which is the Eb of course, and from there,
I'm playing the Ebmaj7 arpeggio.
So we have.

And up here, we're ending on the ninth of the chord,
so we're really spelling out an arpeggio
on a strong beat, or an extension on a strong beat.
And that's resolved chromatically.
And then just down to the fifth.
And then I'm playing this stack of fourths.
And then resolving that to the fifth of the chord.

If you wanna play a really clear line
on a minor seven chord, you kind of have to hit the third,
so in this case the Eb
But one way to make the line a little more exciting
is also to just delay or suspend that a little bit.
And the way I'm doing that in this line
is that I'm playing a chromatic enclosure
before I hit the third.
So I'm aiming for the Eb here,
but I'm starting on the D.
And then I go up to the F, and then move down to the E.
And again, down to the D,
so I'm sort of coming around it, starting below, above,
and then back down under, and then I'm resolving.
So now we're kind of spelling out the chord a bit,
so we're really emphasizing the Eb.
From there I'm using the arpeggio from the third
as I did in one of the other lines already.
But here I'm using it in sort of a sequence,
so I'm playing first just a Eb major triad.
And then I'm going up to, skipping from the G here
up to the seventh, so the D.
And this I turn into a sort of a Pat Metheny, descending,
chromatically descending thirds idea.
Now, I'm saying Pat Metheny because I think
most of us know it from Pat Metheny,
he uses really a lot.
I think he actually got it from Miles Davis
because I have a few records with Miles
where he's doing pretty much the same thing quite often.
I think it's on Four & More, he does that a few times.
So that could be that Pat Metheny
actually took it from Miles Davis, but I'm not sure.
For me, it's anyway, something that I just really connect
with Pat Metheny.
And then just, since it's just moving down,
I need to resolve it at some point.
And when I move down, so, because I get
the D, Bb, and then C# A,
which is just completely outside.
C, it's not so outside.
Ab is not really fitting in this context
because the lines that I'm using here are all Dorian.
But then I can just resolve by pulling off
to the fifth of C, so the G.
And then from here, I go up to the Bb,
so up to the seventh.
And then I'm sort of making this short,
almost like G minor pentatonic line.
Working in on the 11, which is a nice sort of open note
to end on on a minor seven chord.
That was three examples of some lines
that I might play over a minor seven chord
in sort of a Dorian context.
This is, of course, a bit different
from how I normally do the videos,
but I thought it'd be interesting
just to maybe get some examples of some lines,
and then talk about how they're constructed
in terms of the different things
that I talk about in all the other videos.

How To Find The Best Keywords on YouTube? - vidIQ Q&A - Duration: 4:52.
Hello folks and welcome back to vidIQ and you know what, you ask some awesome questions
on our videos so it's about time we gave you some answers.
So, in what we hope will become a semi regular slot, we're going to scour the comments section
of our videos, pick out some of the best questions and answer them and the first one comes from
Tech Smart.
He asks: How to find ranked tags and high volume tags.
Well that's a fantastic question, vidIQ has lots of tools to answer that so let's take
a look.
First we must explain what these tags are and to do that we'll use our video score card.
On here there is a section that rates search engine optimisation or how easy the video
is to find on Youtube.
The two biggest contributors to this score are your ranked tags and high volume ranked
tags.
Ranked tags are how many tags in the video rank within the top 20 searches on Youtube.
That means it's on the first search page so it's prime real estate in terms of click through.
High volume ranked tags are even more valuable.
These are the tags that everyone is searching for.
You can use our keyword research tool to find out which tags have high volume.
For example Nintendo recently launched their new games console the Nintendo Switch so that
tag along with those associated with it are high volume tags.
If a video finds itself on the front page with that search term.... boom!
So when you combine ranked tags and high volume ranked tags together you're on to a sure fire
winner.
But of course, as we all know, getting those tags is the hardest part and this is where
you really need to think about not only your content but how to market it as well so let's
take a closer look at Tech Smart's channel and see what we can do.
First of all Tech Smart is a small channel with 49 subscribers so video visibility is
always going to be hard work, but remember this, everyone started with 0 views and 0
subs so anything is possible.
Now onto the good stuff.
This video about getting a channel intro is well optimised.
You can find out a lot more about how to optimise your videos through titles, tags and description
through our dedicated tutorial and Techsmart has clearly been watching because the actionable
score (in other words what you can do to improve you video's SEO) is near perfect.
We can see Tech Smart has used plenty of tags and two of them are even ranked tags which
is fantastic work.
Now obviously not that many people are going to be searching for Tech Smart intro and Tech
Smart intro free but sometimes the smartest approach is to target niche areas which you
can dominate, especially when you are a small channel.
The problem is channel intros are a fairly popular topic as we can see from the other
tags and their competition score and there's like to be plenty of videos already out on
the subject.
Now I know what you're next question is going to be.
How do I find a niche subject?
Well it just so happens I have the perfect answer and it comes from one of your guys!
Game Tech asked us virtually the same question about tags but what attracted me to this comment
was the fact he's verified by Youtube as indicated by this tick.
Long story short this verification status is highly prized and usually only given out
to large channels of say 50,000 subscribers or more.
But Game Tech has just 937 subscribers so how did he get that status?
Well this is where things get interesting.
Game Tech made a video on just this subject and to date it's got 45,000 views.
This is a brilliant idea for a video and I must admit I've wondered how to get this status
and the video creator has produced a very unique proposition of how to get this status
as a small channel.
If we look at the tags it's a perfect balance of high volume tags versus unique but highly
ranked tags.
And the SEO score reflects that.
A perfect 5 out of 5 for ranked tags but a small score for high volume ranked tags.
Because the truth is, not many people are searching for videos about this subject, but
there are hardly any videos on the subject at all.
So demand maybe small but supply is even smaller.

Physically it's very convinient.

From Tupiza, where I got yesterday after those megaadventure 7 days.
Before leaving I have to get gasoline, which can be tricky in Bolivia.
The price is different for locals or foreigners.
The trick I learned is: you buy yourself a can
If the people at the gasstation are cool, they'll fill it.
Instead of 8 bolivianos something, around 1 euro something you pay less than half as much
It's worth to invest some time in doing it like that. Being nice and open will normally get you there
altough it's inconvinient having to do all that every time.
Now I'll have to do the same with the gasstation beside cause this one told me he won't fill twice.
Basically I've saved......
10 €!
Instead of 20 something I payed 10
And it only took... half an hour!
One more thing: Gas is very bad.
The gas stations don'e even know what ocatne rate they are selling.
You can buy this, it improves the octane rate.
So the engine doesn't suffer that much... you put a little bit of it every time you fill the tank...

Physicists have been struggling for decades with the task of bridging the apparent contradictions
between the Standard Model of Physics, which comprises the known and observable laws of
this universe, and the way that particles change their behavior on the subatomic level.
Now a team or researchers from the South Korean government backed laboratory the Institute
of Basic Science have made a breakthrough which might go some way to grasping the answer
to this vitally important conundrum.
DARK PORTALS MIGHT EXPLAIN THE MOST ENDURING MYSTERY OF PHYSICS Scientists have become
aware of the presence of what is referred to as the dark matter in the universe.
While it is completely undetectable by conventional instruments, researchers have been able to
measure the interactions of this invisible matter through its effects on phenomenon such
as gravitational waves and gravitational lensing.
In order to explain dark matter, a number of theories have been put forward in the past
such as the existence of axions or dark photons which could theoretically be the agents by
which the dark dimension interacts with particles within the known universe.
However, the existence of these photons and axions has never been proved, and the mechanism
by which they could interact with particles in the known universe has never been adequately
explained by any existing model.
The South Korean team have suggested that there could be a fairly simple way that the
two dimensions interact with each other � via �dark axion portals�.
According to Lee Hye-Sung, one should understand the dark axion portal as an interaction point
where the two separate models of physics join together and interact.
Lee Hye-Sung writes; �The dark axion portal suggests the first meaningful connection between
the two physics, which have been studied separately: It connects the dots.
This will allow a reinterpretation of the previous data, and potentially make a breakthrough
in the axion and dark photon searches.� It will take a considerable amount of further
analysis and rigorous investigation before this theoretical assumption can be confirmed
by the scientific community.
However, if it is proven to be true, then scientists will be one huge step closer to
understanding the bridge between the apparent contradictions in the leading models
of physics.
