Donald Trump The Snake Poem Opinion Reacting to My Old Videos Teresa - Duration: 5:14.

hi YouTube okay we are reciting the

snake we're actually reviewing my old

video and I told you guys that I thought

Donald Trump

I took the snake and applied it to him

in America he seems to think he's

applying it to people coming in

immigration I'm applying it to him so

this is what you do you read through the

poem and I'm going to read through the

poem for you guys now the last time I

changed it a little bit so you can see

on this video here I changed some of the

word this time I'm going to read it so

you guys can hear it and understand it

straight from how it is okay here we go

on her way to work one morning down the

path alongside the lake a tender-hearted

woman saw a poor half frozen snake his

pretty colored skin had been all frosted

with the dew poor thing she cried I'll

take you in I'll take care of you take

me in tender woman take me in for

heaven's sake take me in tender woman

sighed the snake she wrapped him up all

cozy in a comforter of silk and laid him

by her fireside with some honey and some

milk she hurried home from work that

night and soon as she arrived she found

that pretty snake she'd taken to have

been revived take me in tender woman

take me in for heaven's sake take me in

tender woman side the snake she clutched

him to her boosom you're so beautiful

she cried but if I hadn't brought you it

by now you might have died she stroked

his pretty skin again and kissed him and

held him tight instead of saying thanks

the snake gave her a vicious bite take

me a tender woman take me in for

heaven's sake take me in tender woman

sighed the snake I saved you cried the

woman and you bitten me but why you know

your bite is poisonous and now I'm going

to die oh shut up silly woman said the

reptile with a grin you knew damn well I

was a snake before you took me in take

me in tender woman take me in for

heaven's sake

take me in tender woman sighed the snake

and so you see that's Donald Trump right

there when you think of the part when it

says oh shut up silly woman said the

reptile with a grin and so look at

Trump's like reptile and grin he's got

his orange reptile face and so that's

Trump all all through here is is he's

talking about himself he's the snake so

he's saying America as in she voted him

in and so now now he just I guess he

thinks he can be it I don't know what

you'd call it dictator maybe I don't

know

and so yeah but anyway over here is my true colors video

so here we go

on her way to work one morning down the path along side the lake

a tender hearted woman saw a half frozen donald trump

his pretty color orange skin had been all frosted in the dew

poor thing she cried i'll take you in i'll take care of you

take me in tender woman take me in for heavens sake

take me in tender woman sighed the orange donald trump

she wrapped him up all cozy in a comforter of silk

and laid him by her fireside with some honey and some milk

Trump decided to skip the White House

Correspondents Dinner and so you can see

here he well it's kind of like if if

people are going to say things he

doesn't want to hear he just kind of

isolates himself off somewhere else and

that's kind of this division that we

have in this country too and he kind of

tapped into that and because he knew it

existed because they you know created it

with the well the past rhetoric

anyway but yeah that's just what I

wanted to say about that particular

video in this you know now he's reading

it as president he read the snake as

president he's telling the United States

who he is he's the snake people voted

Donald Trump as president voted Donald

Trump

into the United States as president and

he's the snake that's why he's reading

this this poem by Al Wilson that's why

he's reading the lyrics because he's the

snake and and he's telling you so and so

you know when when someone tells you who

they are believe them and and so yes

yeah I can't think of anything else

Microsoft Surface Laptop 2017 : Everything you need to know - Duration: 3:59.

In all the years it has been making hardware, Microsoft has shied away from making a traditional

clamshell laptop, at least in part because the company didn't want to upset its OEM partners

by competing with them directly.

But it has been edging closer to that territory with each new Surface Pro iteration and with

the convertible Surface Book, and today Microsoft is formally announcing its first-ever plain-old,

no-gimmicks clamshell notebook, predictably called the Surface Laptop.

Preorders for the new system start today, and it will be available on June 15.

A Core i5 model with 4GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD will start at $999.

The Surface Laptop looks to be a high-quality system in the vein of all the other Surface

gadgets.

It has an aluminum body with a Microsoft logo etched into the lid, a 13.5-inch PixelSense

display with relatively slim bezels along with a nice-looking chiclet keyboard and large

trackpad that appear to be modeled after the Surface Pro 4's Type Cover (right down to

the fabric on the palm rest).

The laptop will come in four colors: silver, gray, blue, and burgundy.

The laptop won't set records for weight or thickness, but given its specs and size, it's

quite svelte at 2.76 pounds.

It's 0.39 inches (9.9mm) thick at its thinnest point and 0.57 inches (14.47mm) at its thickest

point.

Its port selection is a bit anachronistic, though: it uses one USB-A port for data, a

mini DisplayPort for driving external monitors, and the same proprietary power connector as

the Surface Pro 3, Surface Pro 4, and Surface Book.

Similar minimalist laptops from other manufacturers have moved to USB-C, which can be used for

power, data, and charging, and the Surface Laptop certainly has room for two to four

of these ports.

Assuming this laptop was made with education in mind, including USB-A (still the most common

port for USB sticks and peripherals) is a smart move, and mini DisplayPort has the benefit

of being fairly common in any school with Mac users in it (display dongles are cheap

and abundant).

Still, for anyone else, it feels a bit backward-looking, especially in a $1,000 machine.

The screen has a 3:2 aspect ratio that Microsoft says makes it feel more like a 14-inch laptop

than a 13-inch laptop.

Microsoft says the display has 3.4 million pixels—the exact resolution is an oddball

2256×1504, but irregular resolutions are to be expected when you use irregular aspect

ratios.

On the inside, the Surface Laptop uses 7th-generation Kaby Lake processors; both Core i5 and i7

options will be available.

The device can be configured with 4GB, 8GB, or 16GB of RAM and 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and

1TB PCI Express SSDs.

The Core i5 model includes the Intel HD 620 GPU, while the i7 model steps up to the Iris

Plus 640 GPU—64MB of eDRAM will boost its graphics performance considerably.

Microsoft says the battery can last for up to 14.5 hours, presumably for light browsing

or mixed-use.

802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and a 720p webcam round out the spec sheet.The Surface

Laptop ships with Windows 10 S, the new cut-down Windows 10 SKU Microsoft also announced today.

Out of the box, the operating system can only run apps from the Windows Store, though it's

possible to upgrade it to a full Windows 10 Pro install for free until December 31, 2017.

Afterward, the Pro upgrade will cost $50, the same as it normally will for Windows 10

S users.

Neuroscientist Shows What Fasting Does To Your Brain & Why Big - health - Duration: 9:32.

Neuroscientist Shows What Fasting Does To Your Brain & Why Big Pharma Wont Study

It

Below is a TEDx talk given by Mark Mattson, the current Chief of the Laboratory of Neuroscience

at the National Institute on Aging. He is also a professor of Neuroscience at The Johns

Hopkins University, and one of the foremost researchers of the cellular and molecular

mechanisms underlying multiple neurodegenerative disorders, like Parkinsons and Alzheimers

disease.

Id like to address the Big Pharma issue first, since there have been countless examples

of research manipulation at the hands of pharmaceutical companies in recent years. This is why Harvard

Professor of Medicine Arnold Symour Relman told the world that the medical profession

has been bought by the pharmaceutical industry. Its why Dr. Richard Horton, Editor in Chief

of The Lancet, recently stated that much of the scientific literature published today

is false. Its why Dr. Marcia Angell, former Editor in Chief of The New England Journal

of Medicine, said that the pharmaceutical industry likes to depict itself as a research-based

industry, as the source of innovative drugs. Nothing could be further from the truth.

And its why John Ioannidis, an epidemiologist at the Stanford University School of Medicine,

published an article titled Why Most Published Research Findings Are False, which subsequently

became the most widely accessed article in the history of the Public Library of Science

(PLoS).

Dr. Mattson also addresses this issue toward the end of his video:

Why is it that the normal diet is three meals a day plus snacks? It isnt that its

the healthiest eating pattern, now thats my opinion but I think there is a lot of evidence

to support that. There are a lot of pressures to have that eating pattern, theres a lot

of money involved. The food industry are they going to make money from skipping breakfast

like I did today? No, theyre going to lose money. If people fast, the food industry loses

money. What about the pharmaceutical industries? What if people do some intermittent fasting,

exercise periodically and are very healthy, is the pharmaceutical industry going to make

any money on healthy people?

Lecture Summary and the Science to Go With It

Mark and his team have published several papers that discuss how fasting twice a week could

significantly lower the risk of developing both Parkinsons and Alzheimers disease.

Dietary changes have long been known to have an effect on the brain. Children who

suffer from epileptic seizures have fewer of them when placed on caloric restriction

or fasts. It is believed that fasting helps kick-start protective measures that help counteract

the overexcited signals that epileptic brains often exhibit. (Some children with epilepsy

have also benefited from a specific high-fat, low-carbohydrate diet.) Normal brains, when

overfed, can experience another kind of uncontrolled excitation, impairing the brains function,

Mattson and another researcher reported in January in the journal Nature Reviews Neuroscience.

(source)

Basically, when you take a look at caloric restriction studies, many of them show a prolonged

lifespan as well as an increased ability to fight chronic disease. According to a review

of fasting literature conducted in 2003, Calorie restriction (CR) extends life span and retards

age-related chronic diseases in a variety of species, including rats, mice, fish, flies,

worms, and yeast. The mechanism or mechanisms through which this occurs are unclear.

The work presented below, however, is now showing some of these mechanisms that were

previously unclear.

Fasting does good things for the brain, and this is evident by all of the beneficial neurochemical

changes that happen in the brain when we fast. It improves cognitive function and stress

resistance, increases neurotrophic factors, and reduces inflammation.

Fasting is a challenge to your brain, and your brain responds to that challenge by adapting

stress response pathways that help your brain cope with stress and disease risk. The same

changes that occur in the brain during fasting mimic the changes that occur with regular

exercise both increase the production of protein in the brain (neurotrophic factors),

which in turn promotes the growth of neurons, the connection between neurons, and the strength

of synapses.

As he explains in the video, Challenges to your brain, whether its intermittent

fasting [or] vigorous exercise . . . is cognitive challenges. When this happens neuro-circuits

are activated, levels of neurotrophic factors increase, that promotes the growth of neurons

[and] the formation and strengthening of synapses.

Fasting can also stimulate the production of new nerve cells from stem cells in the

hippocampus. He also mentions how fasting stimulates the production of ketones, an energy

source for neurons, and that it may also increase the number of mitochondria in neurons. Fasting

also increases the number of mitochondria in nerve cells, since neurons adapt to the

stress of fasting by producing more mitochondria.

By increasing the number of mitochondria in the neurons, the ability for nerons to form

and maintain the connections between each other also increases, thereby improving learning

and memory ability.

Intermittent fasting enhances the ability of nerve cells to repair DNA.

He also goes into the evolutionary aspect of this theory, explaining how our ancestors

adapted and were built for going long periods of time without food.

A study published in the June 5 issue of Cell Stem Cell by researchers from the University

of Southern California showed that cycles of prolonged fasting protect against immune

system damage and, moreover, induce immune system regeneration. They concluded that fasting

shifts stem cells from a dormant state to a state of self-renewal, triggering stem cell

based regeneration of an organ or system (source).

Human clinical trials were conducted using patients who were receiving chemotherapy.

For long periods of time, patients did not eat, which significantly lowered their white

blood cell counts. In mice, fasting cycles flipped a regenerative switch, changing

the signalling pathways for hematopoietic stem cells, which are responsible for the

generation of blood and immune systems.

This means that fasting kills off old and damaged immune cells, and when the body rebounds,

it uses stem cells to create brand new, completely healthy cells.

We could not predict that prolonged fasting would have such a remarkable effect in promoting

stem cell-based regeneration of the heatopoietic system. . . . When you starve, the system

tries to save energy, and one of the things it can do to save energy is to recycle a lot

of the immune cells that are not needed, especially those that may be damaged. What we started

noticing in both our human work and animal work is that the white blood cell count goes

down with prolonged fasting. Then when you re-feed, the blood cells come back.

 Valter Longo, corresponding author

A scientific review of multiple scientific studies regarding fasting was published in

The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition in 2007. It examined a multitude of both human

and animal studies and determined that fasting is an effective way to reduce the risk of

cardiovascular disease and cancer. It also showed significant potential in treating diabetes.

Before You Fast

Before you fast, make sure you do your research. Personally, Ive been fasting for years,

so it is something that comes easy for me.

One recommended way of doing it, which was tested by the BBCs Michael Mosley in order

to reverse his diabetes, high cholesterol, and other problems associated with his obesity,

is what is known as the 5:2 Diet. On the 5:2 plan, you cut your food down to one-fourth

of your normal daily calories on fasting days (about 600 calories for men and about 500

for women), while consuming plenty of water and tea. On the other five days of the week,

you can eat normally.

Another way to do it, as mentioned above, is to restrict your food intake between the

hours of 11am and 7pm daily, while not eating during the hours outside of that time.

Ultimately, a proper diet remains critical to good health, and how you think about what

you are putting in your body is an important piece of that puzzle, which I believe will

eventually be established in the unbiased and uninfluenced medical literature of the

future.

Below is a video of Dr. Joseph Mercola explaining the benefits of intermittent fasting, and

here is a great article by him that explains how he believes intermittent fasting can help

you live a healthier life.

Did a Planet Escape the Solar System? - Duration: 3:54.

The solar system has looked pretty much the same for billions of years:

four inner rocky planets, four outer gas giant planets,

plus a bunch of dwarf planets and moons and asteroids and comets zooming around the place.

But it wasn't always like this.

We already know that the outer planets, like Jupiter and Uranus,

probably formed much closer to the Sun than they are now.

And the closer scientists look, the more it seems like

we're still missing some pieces of the planetary puzzle.

Which is why some astronomers think that our solar system might have once had

a whole extra planet that got kicked out as the other planets were shuffling around.

Of course, without a TARDIS, we'll never know the exact conditions

as the solar system was coming together four and a half billion years ago.

But we can use computer simulations to study the past.

Astronomers set up lots of different scenarios for the early solar system,

then simulate what would have happened over time,

based on things like how the gravity from one planet would have affected the others.

If a simulation ends with a solar system that looks a lot like what we see today,

that means the scenario's original setup could be a good model

for what the solar system used to look like.

By using this technique, astronomers developed what's known as the Nice model.

That's the model that suggests that our outer planets originally formed

closer in than they are today.

The disk of gas and dust surrounding the young Sun would've been

a great place for them to form.

Eventually, though, energy from the Sun blew all the gas away,

leaving behind the planets embedded in a rocky disk.

According to the Nice model, the planets then began to move,

but astronomers still aren't sure exactly what that movement looked like.

One possibility is that they moved mostly through encounters

with rocks in the disk called planetesimals.

When one of these rocks passed close to a giant planet,

it would've been thrown into a new orbit by the planet's powerful gravity.

But at the same time, the planet would've moved a tiny bit in the other direction.

Problem is, hurling planetesimals one by one

is a pretty slow way to move through the solar system.

And while the planets were migrating,

their gravity was probably wreaking havoc on the inner solar system.

Researchers have a lot of trouble setting up simulations of this

that end up actually looking like our solar system does today.

One problem is that a lot of the time, the simulations end

with Mars being ejected from the solar system entirely.

So that's clearly wrong.

You can avoid a scenario where Mars zooms away,

if the gas giant planets migrated outward much more quickly.

And that could have happened, if the planets were also slingshotting each other around,

in addition to all the planetesimals.

But even though in those simulations, Mars tends to stick around,

it's not enough to entirely avoid the problem of losing a planet.

A lot of the time, Jupiter just throws out one of its fellow gas giants instead.

Physics-wise, it makes sense: the loss of a planet is what provides the energy

that gets the other planets migrating outward more quickly.

But again, that's obviously not what happened,

because Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune are all still here.

So astronomers realized that there had to be something missing

in their picture of the early solar system, like another planet;

one that did get ejected from the solar system, which is why we don't see it anymore.

In one study, when researchers ran thousands of simulations that started with an extra

outer planet, they ended up with a normal-looking solar system about a quarter of the time.

Other investigations have been less conclusive, so we definitely can't say for sure

that our solar system once had an extra planet.

But it is possible, and it would explain a lot.

If it really did exist, this mysterious world was probably an ice giant

with about as much mass as Uranus and Neptune.

And like those planets, it would've formed

somewhere outside the orbits of Jupiter and Saturn.

To be clear, though, wherever it is now,

it's not the Planet Nine you'll sometimes hear people talk about.

If it exists, Planet Nine probably got its current orbit

hundreds of millions of years earlier.

Our lost giant would've joined the billions of other rogue planets

drifting through the galaxy on their own, unconnected to any star.

By now, it would've traveled so far that we'd never be able to identify it

as one of our long-lost neighbors.

In fact, we'll probably never know for sure whether it even existed.

The best we can do is come up with better simulations,

and look at other star systems for clues.

If we're still trying to figure out how many planets our solar system

started out with, who knows what else we have left to discover?

dealing with dermatillomania - Duration: 8:01.

hi I'm Ashton and a couple weeks back I

made a video on my journey so far with

dermatillomania I will link it in the

top of the description if you want to

watch that before you watch this I would

recommend doing so. it was suggested to

me by multiple people that I should

make a video on how I deal with my derma

the things I've picked up on preventing

giving in to the compulsions from

experience and therapy and advice that

I've received so here we go my best

advice for dealing with the compulsion

of skin picking there is no medical cure

for dermatillomania as much I wish that

I could I can't take a pill or 2 and lose

the compulsion to tear off my skin for

me the best way I can counteract it is

by replacing my reaction to a compulsion

with something counteractive for example

when I have the compulsion to or when I

notice myself picking at the acne and

scabs on my face I will go wash my face

and put on some medicine cream that I

have and then I'll go write or draw for

a bit to distract my hands from doing

what they want to deal on my skin if you

pick at your lips or have the compulsion

to pick at your lips um put on your

favorite lip balm for me it's the

strawberry eos thing for you might be a

sparkly lip gloss or lip scrub that's a

thing right yeah that's a thing maybe

it's even as vaseline. for scabs that

you want to pick off using band-aid

there are some cool band aids out there

like shakespeare quotes and superheroes

um they're fun go get yourself some fun

band-aids and cover that scab up then

even if you subconsciously begin to pick

at the scab you'll feel the bandage over

it and be reminded oh this is a

compulsion that I'm supposed to be

fighting and for me as I discussed

previously my fingers are one of the

worst places of my body and for that I

distract my hands I talked about how I

cut off my nails and that didn't help me

but it may help you so if you want to

keep your nails super short I encourage

you to try it so all of those methods of

self-care can absolutely help rather

than giving in to the compulsions caused

by your dermatillomania replace that was

something you can do to instead help

heal the places that you've picked at

um it feels good when you've gotten

through a period of you know hey my face

looks good or my fingertips aren't raw

and clearly i am not at that place right

now but occasionally i do get to that

place and it makes me feel good and it

may not last forever but seeing the

results of working hard to combat your

derma can be very worth it if you

absolutely need to pick it something try

picking at something other than your

skin um try peeling an orange or

clementine and picking off all that

white pulpy stuff then you have not

picked at your skin and you get a

healthy snack how great two birds one

stone another thing you can do is

spreading liquid glue on your hands and

then peeling it off if any of you did

that in childhood I know I did all the

time it won't harm you and it's

something you can do without completely

giving in to the compulsion you can also

scotch tape over your fingertips and

when you need to peel just peel that off

from there plenty of alternatives and

I'm sure you can think of or look up

more. I actually just thought of this one

and I've never tried it but you could

try those like paint on face mask things

I'm not only would they be something

nice to peel off once they're done but

they make your skin healthier which

could decrease dry edges which is what I

often want to pick at why have I not

thought of this before guys I think I

just cured dermatillomania of course I'm

kidding but that could actually be

helpful and I think I'm gonna try that

should I I think I should one thing I

try to do as well is kind of avoidance I

stay away from mirrors and I shower in

low light which can help me kind of

ignore marks on my body that I'd

otherwise pick apart I found that many

therapists and doctors in general don't

know much about BFRBs as they're often

just seen as bad habits whereas there's

more to it they're like intrusive

thoughts coupled with compulsions which

is also why BF arbys often go along with

OCD you'll often be told as i am sure

you've experienced you've done this to

yourself and you could stop if he wanted

to dermatillomania was only accepted

into the dsm in 2013 so it's a pretty

recent addition and that is likely why

many doctors disregard or simply aren't

aware of it therapy-wise the best option

to treat dermatillomania is cbt or

cognitive behavioral therapy its goal is

to reshape your train of thought when it

comes to something that interrupts your

life such as the compulsions tied to

dermatillomania I went through therapy

called DVT dialectical behavioral

therapy but that was targeted towards my

depression and not my dermatillomania I

don't have much experience with CBT but

if you want to go after a CBD program I

definitely encourage you to do some

research and find one

you if you think might work one of the

other things that often worsen

dermatillomania is skin conditions I do

have acne thanks testosterone and i also

have eczema thanks mom and one of the

people that encouraged me to make this

video may have keratosis pilaris or KP

there are other skin conditions that can

make your dermal worse to whether it's

allergies or the aforementioned or just

dry skin for this I'd recommend going to

see a dermatologist they may be able to

prescribe or recommend a cream that

could help the skin condition and if

they manage to take care of the KP

eczema rash allergies anything like that

if you start to manage it then it's

going to be easier to live with

dermatillomania because there's less to

pick at you know there won't be as much

of a issue with wanting to pick if the

main thing you want to pick is not as

much of an issue in first place does

that make sense am I making sense as I

mentioned in the previous video a lot of

people are not open about their

dermatillomania it's something that a

lot of us hi I have felt better since

I've opened up to it not only online but

in real life too nobody's going to hate

you for having the bfr be and if they do

it's not someone you need in your life

opening up about dermatillomania and

having people that know what they can do

to help I have people call me out and

they notice me picking can actually

really helped a lot having a support

system is one of the best things you can

do I actually have a friend in school

with trichotillomania which is a VFR be

that focuses on hair pulling clearly

these aren't the same disorder but the

psychology behind them is very similar

so this friend and I bonded over our

experiences with BF arbys and because we

know that we're caring for each other

and helping each other can buy our BF

arbys i'm not being that kid that's like

we're and just stop picking your nails

stop playing with your hair OH so we

support each other through things and

just bond over our favorite fidget toys

and you know we just we friend we we do

the the friend in what I'm trying to say

with that one is that if you can find

someone that you can be honest with and

also has a BF RV you can support each

other through that and call each other

out when you subconsciously indulge in

your components I'm not saying you know

make an announcement like how long how

long school and work place am I the only

person with the BF are being here how

long I'm not saying do that um just look

out for other people know how to support

others and know how to support yourself

and you may just find a friend that can

help you a lot with dealing with your

impulses compulsions your body focused

repetitive behaviors I think my last

point is going to be fidget toys fidget

toys are my Savior in everything impulse

related I'm stimming if you didn't know

stands for self stimulation is something

you do a lot and I have an

embarrassingly large collection of

vigeant ties on some I wear on a daily

basis that these these guys others are

scattered around my room with my

backpack and travel bags I think I'm

actually going to do a weekend video

going through all my collection of

fidget toys stem toys but anyways my

point is that fidget toys are great they

keep your hands off of your skin and

they keep my hands busy when I would

normally be picking at my skin and if

you don't have any they can easily be

DIY ed made yourself you can make a fine

at toyota of almost anything so just

fidget matt nothing wrong with it I

think that's all the advice I have for

dealing with dermatillomania I know that

was kind of a lot to take in so if you

have any questions feel free to drop a

comment and if you have any advice for

dealing with dermatillomania educate me

go for it man I'm ready goodbye have a

wonderful day and I will talk to you

later maybe

The Power of Gratitude at The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital - Duration: 5:24.

Hi, I am Jamie Corley.

I'm originally from St. Louis, born and raised.

In 2010 I was 22 years old and diagnosed with a benign meningioma tumor on my thoracic spinal

cord.

In 2014, I had the tumor removed by Dr. Ralph Dacey.

Everybody I came into contact with, they were equally as nice and compassionate, but you

knew that they were sharp and the trains ran on time and everyone was exceptionally bright.

And I really appreciated that.

I think that can sometimes be hard to find.

You just know you're in really good hands when you're there.

I'm thankful for donors for providing support to the hospital so that patients like me can

access incredible care and incredible doctors.

I had a liver transplant about 13 years ago.

They said your chances of surviving are 50-50.

I felt that for some reason I came through it successfully and afterward I looked and

said 'why?'

For some reason, I stuck around.

Why?

I found that they have excellent folks who can do the work, from the doctors to the support

staff, the nurses, everyone.

All the way down.

I say thank you to everyone.

I want to make a difference by giving to the Foundation to help others who can't help

themselves.

I give to the Foundation because the hospital has done so much for me and I have survived

two rounds of ovarian cancer in almost ten years now.

And I feel so very fortunate.

I'm just so appreciative every time I go back to Barnes-Jewish, and they are so, so

wonderful and just treat you so well.

Giving makes me feel as though I was contributing to saving somebody else's life and also

in appreciation for what somebody did for me.

I'm sure thankful for Barnes-Jewish Hospital because they had the facilities to help me,

and I just want to make sure that they can continue to help others.

The Foundation is important to I think the entire community in St. Louis as a whole because

they provide so much, whether it's money for research, money for outreach, money for

education.

There's just so much that it does.

We kind of put together this big idea at the Foundation that got funded and it's led

to some groundbreaking discoveries that we hope are pretty soon to translate into new

therapies that'll really help patients.

My name is Bree and I'm a graduate at Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College.

My mom and my dad, we sat down the day after I got accepted and my mom said, "Did you

know how much this school costs before you applied?"

And I said, "No, I was just so excited to get an acceptance letter from Goldfarb."

And so we made an appointment with the financial aid representative, and she began to crunch

numbers and talk.

Any my mom just kept looking at me like, "you know, um, okay."

So, she then brought up information about scholarships.

It was about a week before school started, and I got a letter in the mail, and I opened

it.

It was a scholarship, and I just, I started crying.

I showed my mom and she started crying.

I even ran to my boyfriend's house and he started crying.

I mean, people just knew that I really, really have been praying for it and really wanted

this, so it was a blessing.

I want to be a part of making the world better.

I just want to say thank you.

Knowing that someone is standing behind me, pushing me to be the best that I can be, believing

in me enough to invest in me, it just gave me more hope, more passion, more drive to

be the best that I can be.
