today we're going to look at a Photoshop text clipping mask tutorial where I'll
show you how to create this clipping mask and place a belay effect plus at
the end a very special announcement
what is up people welcome back to Satori graphics home of graphic design
content I hope the sun is shining you're part of
the world unless it's night time of course anyway today a Photoshop clipping
mask tutorial I found this picture on Google and I wanted to recreate this
effect for you guys today so let's jump right into this Photoshop tutorial open
the layers window and Photoshop and then double click your image in the layers
panel to unlock it we didn't want to take a quick selection tool and have a
fairly small sized brush on it the trick here is to click and drag in the area
you want to delete with the quick selection tool we can hold down hold and
click in the areas that I've selected that we do not want to delete like I'm
doing here
what you happy hit backspace on your keyboard to delete this area it is same
for all the background areas on your image we will clean up the edges but
first we're going to desaturate the color I don't want to go fully black and
white you can however I'm going to leave a bit of color here I'm mr. clean we
face on a new document use the rectangle tool to power up the entire book in the
black rectangle and then transfer your face or whatever the image is over the
top for having a razor tool that has a soft brush and a locator D to further
and clean up the edges
also you can use a small harder brush your razor is holding down shift to
create small straight lines across the edges and then go back in with the
softer brush after to really make this edges clean and feather once happy
through the face to one side and hit command R or control on a PC open up the
rulers and then drag a guide down the exact center of the face grab a hardy
razor till we 100% opacity and a small brush and hold down shift and you raise
a perfectly straight line along the guide hold on hold since you see this
icon up here and click and drag to duplicate the face
grab the square selection tool and delete one side of each layer
remembering to select the right layer in the layers panel
bring them together and then to load both the layers by holding down shift
and align them like so
click your text but use a tool bold and thick font and make sure every single
letter within the face region drop the text layer below the right layer in the
panel hold down the option key T see this icon appear and then click right
between the two layers and voila it just created your text clipping mask effect
in Photoshop as you may know I'm a graphic designer first and foremost I
need to make five uploads on this channel a week stretches my time for
work help with income I started a merch store because I don't really like to get
money for doing nothing so Seoul up a store on design with
humans which is a place that I've used before in the past and I wanted to test
the quality of their shirts or during one of my designs and here it is as you
can see it comes in a very cool package
this design however is no longer on my store I didn't personally like it how
much I just wanted to test the quality of the print and the fabric of the
shirts which is pretty decent MSA I also have a sticker and a promotional thing
as well I can see some white fluff here on the print but that's just from most
impacts and one wash we saw that out oh yeah check out my score if you want to
help out my channel I have t-shirt stickers and art prints on there the
link is in the description below and the very end of this video - like I share
this video if you enjoyed it and time in with any suggestions in the comment
section because I love to hear from you guys so until next time design your
future today is you
