The Fallen Angels and the Nephilimexplained in the book written by Noahs grandfather

Enoch was Noahs grandfather and he was the seventh man from Adam.

This places the Book of Enoch as being around 5500 years old.

Enoch was born 622 years after the creation of Adam, and that makes the Book of Enoch

one of the oldest Books on planet Earth.

In this article, we will look at some of the texts provided in the Book of Enoch where

we can find very interesting things that speak of the Fallen Angels and The Nephilim.

The product of ancient myth?

Or truth, written down thousands of years ago?

The so-called Book of Enoch is described as an ancient Jewish religious work, ascribed

by tradition to Enoch, the great-grandfather of Noah.

Modern scholars estimate the older sections (mainly in the Book of the Watchers) to date

from about 300 BC, and the latest part (Book of Parables) probably to the first century

BC.

The first part of the Book of Enoch describes the fall of the Watchers, the angels who fathered

the Nephilim.

The remainder of the book describes Enochs visits to heaven in the form of travels, visions,

and dreams, and his revelations.

The book is made up of five major sections which are:

The Book of the Watchers (1 Enoch 136) The Book of Parables of Enoch (1 Enoch 3771)

(also called the Similitudes of Enoch) The Astronomical Book (1 Enoch 7282) (also

called the Book of the Heavenly Luminaries or Book of Luminaries)

The Book of Dream Visions (1 Enoch 8390) (also called the Book of Dreams)

The Epistle of Enoch (1 Enoch 91108) But the contents of the book completely challenge

modern religion and history, mainly because of its controversial content.

Is it possible that we have overlooked ancient texts such as the Book of Enoch?

Is it possible that these texts speak the truth about what happened to mankind in the

distant past?

If so why have we chosen to ignore these ancient texts?

Because they do not seem to fit in our mainstream chronology?

Many authors agree that based on numerous ancient texts we can conclude that the ancient

Nephilim could have been an ancient Alien species that lived on Earth in the distant

past even though this is an extremely controversial notion for mainstream scholars who firmly

oppose it.

According to several ancient texts, its possible to conclude that the Nephilim were,

in fact, mysterious beings that dominated over the planet before the Great Flood.

In many ancient texts, they are referred to as giants and some ancient texts suggest these

mystery beings are in fact the descendants of the Fallen Angels.

However, despite many scholars trying to comprehend what the Nephilim were there is considerable

confusion surrounding these mysterious beings which according to ancient texts, were real

and inhabited Earth in the distant past.

There isnt doubt whether or not these beings were real, the only question that surrounds

them is their actual origin and legacy.

Enoch 6:1-3:

And it came to pass when the children of men had multiplied that in those days were

born unto them beautiful and comely daughters.

And the angels, the children of the heaven, saw and lusted after them, and said to one

another: Come, let us choose us wives from among the children of men and beget us children.

Enoch 10:3-8:

And I Enoch was blessing the Lord of majesty and the King of the ages, and lo!

The Watchers called me Enoch the scribe and said to me: Enoch, thou scribe of

righteousness, go, declare the Watchers of the heaven who have left the high heaven,

the holy eternal place, and have defiled themselves with women, and have done as the children

of earth do, and have taken unto themselves wives: Ye have wrought great destruction on

the earth: And ye shall have no peace nor forgiveness of sin: and inasmuch as they delight

themselves in their children [Nephilim], The murder of their beloved ones shall they see,

and over the destruction of their children shall they lament, and shall make supplication

unto eternity, but mercy and peace shall ye not attain.

Enoch 7:1-6:

And all the others together with them took unto themselves wives, and each chose for

himself one, and they began to go in unto them and to defile themselves with themAnd

they became pregnant, and they bare great giants, whose height was three thousand ells

[450 feet]: Who consumed all the acquisitions of men.

And when men could no longer sustain them, the giants turned against them and devoured

mankind. Chapter 8

1 And Azazel taught men to make swords, and knives, and shields, and breastplates, and

made known to them the metals of the earth and the art of working them, and bracelets,

and ornaments, and the use of antimony, and the beautifying of the eyelids, and all kinds

of costly stones, and all coloring tinctures.

2 And there arose much godlessness, and they committed fornication, and they were led astray,

and became corrupt in all their ways.

3 Semjaza taught enchantments, and root-cuttings, Armaros the resolving of enchantments,

Baraqijal (taught) astrology, Kokablel the constellations, Ezeqeel the knowledge of the

clouds, Araqiel the signs of the earth, Shamsiel the signs of the sun, and Sariel the course

of the moon.

And as men perished, they cried, and their cry went up to heaven . . .

Chapter 19

1 And Uriel said to me: Here shall stand the angels who have connected themselves with

women, and their SPIRITS ASSUMING MANY DIFFERENT FORMS are defiling mankind and shall lead

them astray into sacrificing to DEMONS as Gods, (here shall they stand,) till the day

of the great judgment in 2 which they shall be judged till they are

made an end of.

And the women also of the angels who went astray shall become SIRENS.

So, after reading these chapters, is it possible that there is some or any truth in them?

Is it possible that the so-called fallen Angels did in fact exist in the distant

past?

Is it possible that the Nephilim, lived among humans?

If so, we ask again, why have we chosen to ignore what ancient man recorded so perfectly

in

the past?

Abdominoplasty, Tummy Tuck-Scar Care After Tummy Tuck-Dr.Cortes-YouTube - Duration: 5:32.

Hi, this is Dr. Hourglass, and welcome to another video in our channel Star Bodies.

Today we are going to discuss "Scar care after tummy tuck".

In this channel we discuss everything you need to know to get that star body that you want.

Welcome back!

Patients are always concerned about the scar of the tummy tuck, including the length and location.

Without a doubt, the scars are permanent, and yet some patients believe the scar will completely disappear

after the procedure.

Unfortunate as it may seem, the good thing is that scars tend to mature over a period of time.

They get better over time and they tend to turn into a fine line.

There are different treatments that can be used to control and improve the appearance

and thickness of the scar.

For starters, if you start developing a thick scar, the main treatments would be either

Kenalog injection or silicone dressings.

Typically, silicone dressings can be used from a month after surgery.

You need to start undergoing scar treatment once the incision has completely healed.

Silicone dressings are used 24/7.

They actually behave like a surgical tape that is placed over the scars and need to be used all the time.

Kenalog injections are steroids that can also be used for specific areas of the scars.

Kenalog is injected inside the scar in specific areas to help minimize scar formation and decrease scars

that have become thick over a given period of time.

In essence after a tummy tuck, you can start using scar treatment about a month after the procedure.

Silicone dressings, as well as Kenalog injections, are the main treatments to improve scars and

prevent bad scar formation.

In this video, we discuss " Scar care after tummy tuck" .

Tax Avoidance | White Man Behind A Desk - Duration: 9:14.

Kia ora, my name is Robbie and I'm another white man behind a desk, and we are live at

BATS theatre in Wellington!

This is a place that leans so far to the left it's struggling to meet earthquake requirements.

Now, in the last 50 years, wealth inequality has risen pretty steeply here in New Zealand.

And whether you think that's a good thing or a bad thing—this episode is about one

major factor contributing to that rise: New Zealand's tax system.

Now, obviously I don't have time to break down all of the details of New Zealand's

tax system, and also I don't want to because I enjoy the will to live.

But what I can do is run through a few ways that rich people are legally avoiding tax,

and do it in a fun way that distracts this audience from the fact that they could

have gone to a comedy show without a single tax monologue at all.

Now, tax is essential!

And yet, for some reason, people don't like it.

What with tax fraud, tax evasion, tax avoidance, and tax mitigation, people have gotten very clever

at dodging tax - and it's great to see our taxpayer-funded education being put to such

good use.

Multinational corporations get a bad rap for paying zero tax.

But that's not fair, in 2016 ExxonMobil paid negative fourteen million dollars in

tax.

And that is a different number.

But multinational corporations pay fancy accountants huge amounts of money, so when I'm talking

about tax avoidance, I want to make it super clear that I'm not talking about honest,

hardworking kiwis.

Or am I!

It turns out that rich kiwis don't like tax either.

And if you're a rich person, one of the best ways to pay less tax is to buy property,

instead of putting your money into places where it gets taxed - like banks or new businesses.

When it comes to housing, people basically fall into one of two categories.

There are those who see house prices skyrocket and cry, and those who see house prices skyrocket

and cheer, crack bottles of champagne, and burn effigies of Michael Joseph Savage.

In the interests of protecting the first group of people from the second, most Western governments

have a capital gains tax to discourage property speculation.

A capital gains tax means if you earn a profit when you sell your property - you pay tax

on that profit.

In the same way that you pay a tax when you earn money in every other way.

In 2014, the Labour Party bootycalled their

capital gains tax policy for another night of passion.

Outrage swept the nation at the prospect of the 'family home' being taxed.

"The family home?!"

People cried.

"You can't tax something with the word family in it!"

Federated Farmers basically called the tax indecent and David Parker a pervert for even

bringing it up.

The Labour Party failed to gain support for their capital gains tax policy, despite the

fact that it never actually included the family home.

In 2015 National introduced a tax on residential homes, excluding the family home, sold within

two years - but in every other case the loophole remained.

If you earn $50,000 from your job, you pay 30% income tax.

If you earn $50,000 from selling a house, you won't.

And in all fairness, why should you pay tax on that money?

After all, it's not like you did anything to earn it.

Now, some people think of these sorts of taxes as just, like, an excuse to punish the rich, so,

again, I just want to make a second point really clear: I am not saying that you should be taxed just because

you own a lot of stuff.

Or am I!

Already, the Opportunities Party, or "the Green Party with less political experience",

has proposed a tax - that's right - they've proposed a tax on one of the best ways to earn money:

already being rich.

Now, I know what you're thinking!

"But wait, Robbie!

We have a progressive" - this is you - "But wait! We have a progressive tax rate!

If you earn more money, you pay more tax!"

And that's true, audience.

But there's a problem - it turns out that just having money saves you quite a lot of

money.

Firstly, it's expensive to be poor.

When you're poor, you can't buy in bulk, you're unlikely to be able to claim things

as a business expense, and because you pay off debt slowly, your debt costs more.

You pay more relative GST than rich people, because you spend a higher percentage of your

earnings on the things you need to live, and that's not even taking into account the

fact that you can't afford good investments or a fancy accountant.

But, when you're rich - not only can you put your money into investments like property,

you also get to save money by living inside that investment.

You get to live, for free, inside a building that's increasing in value by up to a thousand

dollars a week, while you sit in it!

It's like a money machine with complementary bedrooms.

Meanwhile, stupid poor people are paying rent!

Ya gotta think it through, guys.

There are countless ways that owning "equity" or "stuff" helps you get wealthier.

Unfortunately, we normally only tax money when it moves - when you earn it or when you spend it.

We don't like to tax money that just sits there - being owned by rich people, granting them

financial benefits.

Which is why countries like France, Norway, and Switzerland have something called the

equity tax.

Now the equity tax can be a little confusing, so here's an analogy: Imagine you're in

a flat, and you're running low on mugs.

So your flat decides to create a tax; from now on, it costs money to take mugs into your

room.

The problem is, as it turns out, the reason you were running low on mugs is because David

already has 50 mugs in his god damn room.

DAVID: You what, mate?

ROBBIE: That is my flatmate, David, and...

*applause*

I have to say, the monologue is not gonna get better for him

from here on in.

You see, there's no tax for the mugs that David already has.

I mean what do you even do with 50 mugs?!

Are ya sleeping on the mugs, David?

Now you're probably already feeling a little pissed off at David.

I mean, he's got 50 mugs, and you're living hand to mouth on one teacup, and you're taxed

every time you take it into your room.

But in the real economy, being wealthy gives you financial benefits.

Which means in this analogy, David's mugs are actually making more mugs.

The boy mugs are rooting the girl mugs and David's just sitting there watching them

breed.

Now, admittedly, this metaphor is not perfect. A lot of rich people earned their

money by working hard, and they got taxed every time they took mugs into their room.

They worked hard for their mugs, and they paid their tax.

But, also, lots of them didn't.

New Zealand has an estate tax of literally zero percent, which means David might have

just inherited those fifty mugs from his dad, and in the process he didn't pay a dime

of tax.

So to sum up: let's imagine that a mug is a million dollars - David got fifty million

from his dad for doing nothing, and paid zero tax.

While you got twenty bucks an hour for working hard, and paid tax on every cent.

Then David got the benefits of owning that fifty mill, and paid zero tax on any of those

benefits.

Then he invested that money into property, made a profit on that property, and paid zero

tax on that.

Then, one day, David decided to buy a multinational corporation, charged the profits to the Cayman

Islands branch of David Incorporated, and once again paid zero fucking tax.

At this point, you sort of want to kick David out of the flat.

I don't.

Currently 10% of Davids own

50% of New Zealand's wealth - and Statistics New Zealand suggests that wealth inequality

is growing.

We could have an estate tax, a capital gain tax, and an equity tax, or we could watch

David roll around in his ever-expanding mug orgy.

Frankly, it's up to you.

If you want to vote, go for it.

David wouldn't miss it for the world.

1.

Abigail said, "Whoever hears my words shall die.

But whoever hears mywords and understands them is one who shall overcome death.

Though he shalldie, he shall have knowledge of death before death, and he shall overcome.

"2.

Abigail said, "If you make a man equal to God, when you worship that God,you are worshipping your brother.

And if you make God equal to man, it is asif your brother has created you.

"3.

Abigail said, "A fool who says 'I am a fool' is wise, though he be afool.

But a fool who says 'I am wise' is foolish indeed.

"4.

Abigail said, "Do not lie, and do not do what you hate.

If you sin andyou are ignorant of your sin, your soul is clean.

But if you sin and youknow of your sin, you shall be deeply vexed.

"5.

Abigail said, "If you sin in the evening, and you know of your sin, andyou are deeply vexed, know that you will sin again the next morning.

And ifyou know that, there shall be none as deeply vexed as you.

But in themorning, shall your vexation remain

"6.

A man came up to them and said, "Last night I made a vow before God, andthis morning I have broken my vow.

What shall become of me?

".

Abigail said,"It would have been better for you not to have made your vow.

But since youhave made a vow, use the breaking of your vow to fulfil the spirit in whichit was made.

"7.

Abigail said, "It is easier for a man to swallow himself than for him toovercome himself.

But in the end, if you do not overcome yourself, you shallbe overcome, and all shall revile you.

"8.

They came upon a crowd, and a man was brought to them who was screaming.

Abigail asked him, "Why are you screaming?

".

"I am possessed by the spiritof the evil one," he said, "who makes me do evil things that I would notdo.

".

Abigail said, "It is not the evil one that is tormenting you, butyourself.

Should you realise this, you will be deeply vexed.

But in yourvexation you shall find a way to overcome.

".

The man spat at her, and said"You are also from him.

Leave me alone!".

Abigail turned and walked away.

Natasha said to her, "Why did you leave him in that state?

".

Abigail said,"Come tomorrow, he shall be wise.

And in his wisdom, he shall return.

"9.

They were walking along a dusty road, and Natalie and Natasha werearguing.

Abigail asked them, "What are you arguing about?

".

Natalie said,"Natasha denies that it is a sin to shout at those who oppose you.

".

Natashasaid, "Natalie believes that it is a sin to show people the truth, if toshow them truth requires you to shout.

".

Abigail said, "A deed is onlysinful if you consider it a sin.

If it is not a sin to you, use the voicethat you have been given to proclaim the truth.

But if you consider it a sinto shout, woe be upon you if you shout.

"10.

A priest came up to them, and asked, "Why do you not teach yourfollowers which deeds are sinful, and which are not?

".

Abigail said to him,"You hypocrite! You castigate men for their sins, and they are ashamed.

Yetwhen you return home, you commit the same sins as they did, and you feel noshame.

".

The priest said, "This morning I caught a woman in adultery, yet Ihave never committed adultery.

You are wrong, Abigail, and you mislead thepeople.

".

Abigail turned and walked away.

But Angela stopped her, and asked,"Why do you leave him in his foolishness?

".

Abigail said, "He is deaf towhat we have to say.

For the moment, we must leave him.

But this night heshall consider what he has said, and tomorrow he shall return.

"11.

Abigail said, "Do not lie, and do not use the truth to deceive.

Listento what you say, and hear how you contort your words, speaking so that, whilst not lying, you deceive.

If you speak the truth, yet lie in spirit, you shall be cast with those who openly lie.

"12.

Abigail said, "If you were not ashamed of what you have done, you wouldnot lie.

If your deeds were pure, how freely would you proclaim them.

Sinceyour deeds are shameful, you hide them in your silence, wishing that theywould go away, whilst not asking why you do such things.

"13.

Abigail said, "Look at yourself.

In the morning you pray to God that youmay be kept from sin, and in the evening you pray to God that you may beforgiven the sins that you have committed.

Yet between your prayers, you sinwithout regard.

Do not ask God for things that you are not prepared to doyourself.

"14.

Abigail said, "You are not complete until you are one.

Whilst there isdivision within you, you are weak.

But with unity comes strength.

"15.

A man came upto Abigail as she was sitting under the shade of a tree.

Heasked, "How should I pray?

And should I offer sacrifices?

To whom should Igive praise?

".

Abigail pointed to the tree, and said, "Consider the tree.

When you are one with yourself, then you shall know the true meaning ofprayer, and sacrifices, and praise.

But until you are whole, you shall worryyourself with these things, yet they are not the root to wholeness.

".

Theman was deeply vexed at this, and asked again, "What shall I do?

".

Abigailsaid, "As the tree is one with itself, so should you be.

And just as thetree has time to exist in, doing nothing, but existing, so you should maketime to do nothing, but exist.

"16.

Rebecca said, "A woman asked me what she must do to overcome herself.

But I did not know how to answer her.

".

Abigail said, "It is better that youdo not speak than to speak without authority.

But the way to overcomeyourself is not something I can tell you, for if I did, you would resentit.

"17.

A crowd gathered round them, and a man asked, "What good things must Ido to go to heaven?

And what evil things must I refrain from lest I go tohell?

".

Abigail said, "Have you not realised where heaven and hell are?

Where there is unity, there also is heaven.

But where there is disunity, that is hell.

If you are one with yourself, you shall have no despair.

Butif you are divided against yourself, your hell shall have no bounds.

Heavenand hell are not places, but states of mind.

"18.

Angela saw two children fighting in the street.

She asked Abigail, "Whatis to become of these?

".

Abigail said, "You must not expect perfection fromthem, for they are but children.

And whilst you can guide them in the rightdirection, if you impose your will upon them, they will resent it.

Rather, they must find out for themselves.

"19.

A man asked, "How many gods are there?

".

Abigail said, "If you desire ananswer of 'One God', 'Three Gods', 'Many Gods', or 'No Gods', you should goto the priests and the preachers, for I cannot answer you.

It is better thatyou find your own answer.

When you are one with yourself, you shall knowwhat God is.

But until then, you will create gods to suit yourself, and theyshall be as idols to you.

"20.

Abigail was sitting at the top of a hill, looking at the surroundingcountryside.

A large crowd gathered round her, but Abigail remained silent.

Natasha asked her, "Why do you not speak to the crowd?

".

Abigail said, "Thecrowd are not interested in what I have to say.

".

Natasha asked, "Then whyhave they gathered?

".

Abigail said, "They believe I am something that I amnot.

".

And she stood up, and began to speak to the crowd.

"I am not amiracle worker.

", she said, "I have no power save my own.

".

At this, aroundhalf the crowd got up and walked away.

Watching them go, Abigail said, "AndI am not a prophet.

I have no voice save my own.

".

At this, the remainder ofthe crowd got up and walked away, leaving no one save an old woman.

Natasha, curious of the woman's motives, went to her and asked, "Why are you stillhere?

Do you not seek a prophet, or a miracle worker?

".

The old womanreplied, "The glory of God may be seen in the view from this hill, and thatis all I require.

"21.

A man came up to Abigail and said, "I have made a vow before God, but Ifear that I will soon break my vow.

".

Abigail said, "It would have beenbetter if you had not made your vow.

But do not expect me to say 'You maybreak your vow, God will forgive you', for I have no authority to say suchthings.

"22.

Abigail said, "If it is possible for you to do good to those around you,it will be good if you so do.

A warm glow shall arise within you, and youshall feel good because of the good that you have done.

But if it is notpossible for you to do good, beware that you do not do evil.

For if you doevil, you shall feel cold inside, and you shall despise yourself for whatyou have done.

"23.

Abigail said, "No-one likes a troublemaker.

"24.

A woman asked Abigail, "When I have overcome myself, then what shall Ido?

".

Abigail said, "Have you already overcome yourself, that you ask whatis beyond?

When you have overcome yourself, you shall have knowledge of whatyou must do next.

But you should not be concerned with that now.

"25.

Abigail said, "If you seek to overcome yourself, be sure that yourdesires are pure.

Do not seek to overcome yourself because of a desire forwealth, popularity, or miraculous powers, for if you do so, you shall notsucceed.

When you have become one with yourself, you will understand thevalue of wealth, popularity and miraculous powers.

You should seek toovercome yourself for the sake of yourself alone.

"26.

Abigail said, "Who is righteous?

He who has achieved unity withinhimself, who has quelled division, who has overcome doubt, and who has puthis strength to a good end, it is he who is righteous.

"27.

A woman asked Abigail, "Who am I, and what is myself?

Is there adifference, or are they the same?

".

Abigail said, "There is a difference, but if I tell you, you will not understand.

Rather, you must find out foryourself.

"28.

A man asked Abigail, "I am tempted to do an evil thing.

What must I doto stop myself?

Should I vow before God?

".

Abigail said, "If you vow beforeGod, you will break your vow.

If you do not vow before God, there shall beno barrier to your evil.

".

The man said, "You offer me a choice between oneevil or two.

Is there nothing I can do?

".

Abigail said, "You must put allthat you value between yourself and your evil.

Only then shall youovercome.

"29.

Abigail said, "Before you do an evil thing, consider how you will feelafter you have done that evil thing.

And if you then go on to do that thing, remember how you feel afterwards, so that it may not happen again.

"30.

Abigail said, "If you are tempted, you will fall.

But if you fall, besure to learn from it.

For if you do not learn from your fall, you will fallagain and again.

"31.

Abigail said, "Temptation is like a maggot in an apple.

It eats awayuntil there is nothing left but itself, and then it looks for anotherapple.

"32.

Abigail said, "What I tell you, you must find out for yourself.

If youare not ready for what I say, you will not understand it, and you willreject it.

Only when you are ready for my words shall they have meaning foryou.

".

Natalie said, "Then why do you speak at all?

".

Abigail said, "If Ikept these things to myself, you would not know that they were there.

"33.

Abigail was sitting under the shade of a tree.

A man came upto her, andspat at her.

Abigail said nothing.

The man broke down and wept, saying, "Iwish that I had not done that.

I feel ashamed.

".

Abigail said, "It is toolate now.

It would have been better if you had felt ashamed before youspat.

".

The man was deeply vexed.

Seeing his vexation, Abigail said,"Knowing of your shame is a start.

Now, go, and build on it.

".

And the manwent.

34.

Abigail said, "Know yourself, and use your knowledge.

"35.

A man asked, "What one thing must I do to become perfect?

".

Abigailsaid, "If I told you that you must do one large deed, you would do it.

Butif I told you that you must do many small deeds, you would not.

You must beprepared to do these small things, even when you do not feel like it.

Do notlet yourself slip.

"36.

Natasha said, "A woman asked me whether she should believe in God, andif so, which God.

I did not know how to answer her.

".

Abigail said, "You maybecome one with yourself whilst believing in God.

And you may become onewith yourself whilst not believing in God.

When you become one, you will seewhat God is.

But until then, do not use your image of God as a support, forif you do, it will collapse beneath you.

"37.

Natalie said, "Natasha has told me that you do not believe in God.

Isthis true?

".

Abigail said, "It is not my beliefs that you should beconcerned with, but your own.

If I say 'You should believe in God', thenthose that do not believe in God will reject me.

And if I say 'You shouldnot believe in God', I shall be rejected by those that do believe in God.

Itis better that I remain silent.

When you are one with yourself, you will seewhat God is.

"38.

Abigail said, "Unless you have heard these words from me, you cannot besure that they are my words.

If a friend tells you that I have said thesethings, it is not my words that you will have heard, but those of yourfriend.

And if you read in a book, 'Abigail said this' or 'Abigail saidthat', it is not my words that you will have read, but those of the writerof that book.

".

Nicola asked, "What are we to do?

If we teach your words, people will say, 'These are not the words of Abigail, but of Nicola'.

But ifwe do not teach your words, they shall be lost.

".

Abigail said, "If thewords are true, it does not matter whose mouth they have come from.

For itis the truth in them that counts.

"39.

Abigail said, "Be aware of what you are doing.

If you are not aware ofwhat you are doing, you will do many things that you regret, and will bedeeply aware of your regrets.

"40.

Abigail said, "Respect one another.

There is no-one so low that youshould not show them your respect.

And if someone does not respect you, donot double the problem by not showing respect to them, for that is how theproblem grows.

" 41.

Natalie and Natasha were sitting on a stone wall.

A woman came uptothem, and said, "The priest has forbidden us to listen to you.

He says thatyou corrupt the people.

".

Natasha said, "Who is this priest?

And whatauthority has he?

".

The woman replied, "The priest says that he is adescendant of the prophets, and that all who disobey him shall be eternallydamned.

".

Natalie said, "Why are you speaking to us?

Do you not fear foryour soul?

".

The woman said, "I am in conflict with myself.

I value thewords of Abigail, but the priest denies them.

What am I to do?

".

Natashasaid, "You must cease your conflict, and become one with yourself.

When youhave done that, you will realise who the priest is.

But until then, let noone hold the truth from you.

"42.

A woman asked, "What is evil?

".

Abigail said, "I cannot tell you what isevil, for you must find out for yourself.

If I said to you, 'This is notevil', and you believed it was, or if I said, 'This is evil', and youbelieved it was not, you would not hear me.

Rather, you must find out foryourself what is evil, and what is not, for you will hear yourself.

"43.

A woman approached Abigail, and said, "When will you come home,Abigail?

".

Abigail said, "I shall not return home before I have said allthat I have to say.

And if my death arrives before then, your daughter shallnot return home alive.

".

The woman left, and all were astounded.

Abigailsaid, "Why are you surprised?

Like you, I am born of human flesh.

Like you,I shall grow old and die.

What I have done, you can also do.

But are thereany of you that shall follow in my footsteps?

"44.

Abigail said, "If you feel good about yourself, you shall have strengthin yourself.

But if you despair of yourself, you shall be weak, and youshall despair of your weakness.

"45.

Abigail said, "If you are weak, know that if you succumb to yourweakness, you shall be yet weaker.

But if you are strong, you will notsuccumb, and you will feel good because of not succumbing.

"46.

Abigail said, "You must have strength within yourself.

If you aredivided against yourself, you shall be weak, and you shall do nothing thatis good.

You must unite with yourself, and be one.

Then you shall be strong, and nothing shall defeat you.

"47.

Abigail said, "Unless you open the door, nothing shall enter.

"48.

Abigail said, "Only those who have known the darkness of the nighttruely appreciate the light of the day.

"49.

A man said, "What am I to do?

I am in despair, for I am weak, anddivided against myself.

".

Abigail said, "If you say to yourself, 'I can donothing, for I am weak', you shall do nothing.

It would be better if yousaid to yourself, 'Though I am weak, I shall yet be strong.

Though I amdivided, I shall yet be one'.

For you are capable of doing many good things, but unless you realise this, you shall do nothing.

"50.

Abigail said, "Realise what you can do, for you are capable of manythings, should you but realise that they are within you.

"51.

They were walking near a mountain when they came upon a corpse, lyingnaked in the snow.

Angela said, "Why is this?

Who could do such a thing?

".

Abigail said, "Beware that you do not see others as you see yourself.

Although you could not do this, there are those who do such things everyday, and to them, it is easy.

".

Angela wept.

Nicola asked her, "Why do youweep for the corpse?

It cannot appreciate your tears.

".

Angela said, "It isnot the corpse that I weep for, but myself.

For if I had killed all thosewho I desired were dead, these mountains would be littered with corpses.

"52.

They reached the top of the mountain that they were climbing, and theyadmired the view.

Nicola said, "The view from here is magnificent, for I cansee for miles.

".

Abigail said, "When you were in the valley, you could notsee the view.

Only by climbing the mountain could the view be seen.

".

Nicolasaid, "You have said more than the words you have spoken.

".

Abigail said,"Everyone who is listening will hear my words, but some will understand morethan others.

"53.

Rebecca asked, "What must I do to speak the truth?

".

Abigail said, "Itis better that you say nothing, realising that the truth is not with you, than to say, 'This is the truth', when it is not.

".

Rebecca asked, "Do youspeak the truth?

".

Abigail said, "To some, I speak the truth.

To others, mywords are utterly false.

"54.

Abigail said, "When what you know to be evil appears to be good, then isthe time to overcome yourself, and to be strong.

"55.

A man came upto them, and prostrated himself before them.

Abigail wassilent for a moment, and then prostrated herself before the man.

Herfollowers were surprised.

Natalie asked, "Why are you prostrate before eachother?

".

Shelby Sullivan, MD discusses the Obalon Balloon trial - Duration: 0:47.

The smart trial, which looked at the effects

of Obalon Balloon System, was a very rigorous trial,

and in fact, it's really considered one

of the gold standards of studies when we look at devices.

It was done in something called

a randomized sham-controlled trial,

and what that means is that the patients didn't know

what group they were randomized to,

and the people who were administrating

the lifestyle therapy didn't know

what group the patients were assigned to.

Kevin Smith Revisited - Hero Profile - Duration: 3:06.

Hello rebels!

I think it is time for me to take a second look at one of the heroes that I've already covered.

"If you are lucky, you go from a movie fan to a movie maker." -Kevin Smith

If you don't already know my name is Tony but I am also known as ARC Crow here on the internet.

I am trying to transform myself into a hero

One of the ways that I am doing that is by taking a close look at the people that I idolize,

as well as, the heroes in pop culture, literature, and wherever else I can find them.

Today I am revisiting the man I did my very first hero profile on.

Kevin Smith!

I knew at the time that I did it that I would eventually come back to talk about one of my biggest inspirations.

The reasons I have for that are too numerous for me to get into in this video.

but chief among them is that I knew he was going to continue to inspire me in new and different ways.

Kevin Smith is continuing to have the kind of career that I dream of having.

He was once told, "Kevin, it's not about making movies with your friends."

His response

"Really?

That's been the whole point of my career."

He has proved that statement to be true time and time again.

It seems what he really wants to do is show just off his friends and family to the entire world.

He does through the numerous podcasts that he hosts with his friends

and sometimes he gets them their own TV show.

He also has a habit of putting his family in movies.

It started with his mother's cameo in his first film and moved on to his wife and to his daughter.

Not many people can get away with writing a directing a movie to specifically star their

offspring but that doesn't seem to be a problem that Smith has.

He has almost always put what he wants to do before what, in the studio's minds, would give him the most commercial success.

As a result of this behavior, he hasn't really had any "big blockbuster" films,

but his films do one thing consistently.

They turn a profit.

And that is how Kevin Smith gets away with doing pretty much what it is he wants to do.

None of the Kevin Smith movies, even the ones considered flops for him, have lost money.

He has proved he has an audience, myself included, that are going to show up to support him in what he does.

Now I can't speak to the motives of his entire audience, but for myself I keep showing up because

he makes great stuff and I like who he is as a person.

Considering how much content he puts out as himself, like his speaking engagements, multiple podcasts,

highly active twitter feed, and even his own YouTube channel here,

It would be hard thing for him to hide who he really is

so I can say that I like the man with a fair degree of certainty.

He is a great funny guy.

who loves his family and his friends.

He's an artist who makes what he wants to make how he wants to make it and he's supportive

of other artists who do the same.

At the same time, Kevin Smith is not the most agreeable "Mr. Nice Guy" personality

nor is he a pushover.

If there is something he doesn't like or feels like he is being treated unfairly you

can expect to hear about it through one of his multiple outlets.

There is so much more I could talk about that I might have to revisit Smith again in the future.

But for now, I just want to say…

Kevin Smith, you are my hero!

The question of the day: Do you have a favorite Kevin Smith movie?

EP 701 | Iowa Outdoors - Duration: 29:10.

Hi, I'm Kellie Kramer. And I'm Scott Siepker. Welcome to our seventh

season on Iowa Public Television. And a brand new edition of Iowa Outdoors.

(music) (music)

(music) Coming up on Iowa Outdoors --

We climb the windy turbines of Central Iowa --

Paddle past the spring migration at Sweet Marsh --

Follow the journey of Iowa pollinating efforts --

Discover the many trails within our state's border --

And explore a trail in a minute. We'll have all that and more.

So sit tight. Iowa Outdoors is about to begin. Funding for Iowa Outdoors is provided by the

Claude P. Small, Kathryn Small Cousins and William Carl Cousins Fund at the Lincoln Way

Community Foundation in Clinton County to support nature programming on Iowa Public

Tel evision. And by the Alliant Energy Foundation.

Many of Iowa's natural wonders you'll find on Iowa Public Television can be found in

Iowa Outdoors magazine, the Iowa DNR's premier resource for conservation, education and recreation

activities . Subscription information can be found online

at iowadnr.gov. Welcome to our seventh season of Iowa Outdoors.

It's a journey that will take us across the state covering everything from hiking and

biking to water trails and photography. But first, we'll lift Iowans up into the windy

skies for an adventure few realize is possible. \par In the renewable energy community, the

Northwest quadrant of Iowa is affectionately called the Saudi Arabia of wind. Few places

in America rival the combination of wind speed and frequency as the open plains and rolling

hills of Iowa. While there are thousands of wind turbines

in place across the state, few Iowans ever have the opportunity to climb one. In Greene

County, a small wind farm temporarily shut down a turbine to help us show you Iowa from

above. (music)

Wind turbines, millenniums these elegant tools were used across the planet

to grind grain and pump water. Today, they have become a ubiquitous staple of the Iowa

landscape and a symbol of the state's potential for great power generation. Over the last

30 years, innovation in wind power production has pushed the once expensive technology east

from its primary home in California, to the untapped treasure trove of wind right here

in Iowa. Tom Wind: So it was about 1998 was the first

utility owned wind farm and that was composed of three wind turbines by Algona, Iowa. And

then in 1999, 250 megawatts of wind turbines were installed near Storm Lake, Iowa and also

near Clear Lake, Iowa. With thousands of turbines now scattered across

the state, wind power generates more than one third of Iowa's energy needs. And, surprisingly,

that power generation is not due to Iowa's heavy power consumption

or our great need for an alternative fuel source, but simply location.

Wind: I've always said that Iowa is in a sweet spot. We have good wind resources here, like

we have here today. But it's really not as windy here as it is in North Dakota and South

Dakota and Nebraska. You go to Illinois or Indiana, they have a lot more people, a lot

more need for electricity, but it's not as windy. It makes more sense to put the wind

turbines here where they ca n be tied into the high voltage grid and deliver

the power to the people. And some of the wind power that is generated in Iowa actually goes

into other states. One of the greatest beneficiaries of the rise

in wind power has been farmers. While it took some time for them to warm to the prospect

of erecting massive towers in their fields, the incentive to do so made the turbines attractive

real quick. Max Johnson: Well, we had mixed emotions and

when they come with it we met with the lawyer in Jefferson and when you figure out cost

per acre that you're getting for it, it's a pretty nice check every year.

One average, the wind turbines in Iowa, such as the one on Max's property, require between

a third and a half of an acre to erect the tower and a car path

for easy access. However, leasing the land was not an issue for Max, considering all

the benefits the turbine provides. Johnson: They're good for everything, along

with the farmer getting paid. I think the less we can depend on other people and do

our own supply of electricity the better off we are.

Including the Junction Hilltop Wind Farm, Greene County is home to nearly 30 wind turbines,

with plans in the coming years to bump that number closer to 70. That may seem like a

lot, but only a drop in the bucket compared to the nearly 4,000 turbines dotting the Iowa

countryside. Wind: I think what everybody has learned here

is that if you put wind turbines out in areas where there just aren't very many people then

it really doesn't bother anybody. The income that they produce for the landowners and the

community and property taxes and all that, people think that is a reasonable trade off

and they think that's fair. But more than dollars and cents, these skyscraping

power cells offer something previously unattainable to many of these areas, a chance to climb

to the skies and see their world firsthand from above.

Okay, so have you ever put on a climbing harness before?

It's been a very long time, so assume I don't know.

In theory, climbing a wind turbine is no different than climbing a rock wall or a building. To

make sure you're safe at all times, technicians and turbine visitors are required to wear

a full body harness, gloves and glasses. Feel comfortable?

It's fine. If seeing all of these precautions gives you

pause, know that the crew overseeing today's climb have been extensively trained in wind

turbine safety and helping those interested in making their own ascent.

Nick Siddens: It's very safe to climb a wind turbine. We have very extensive safety training

that we provide all of our employees long before they're ever allowed to enter a wind

turbine. The wind turbine itself has a lot of integrative safety equipment that ensures

people are not exposed to fall hazards or electrical hazards in their normal course

of action inside the machine. Chief

among those safety measures is a practice known as a 100% tie-off, where climbing cable

latches and twin-tailed fall arrest lanyards are used to connect climbers to the tower

at all times. But the number one factor in determining if a climb is possible is

weather. Siddens: Your wind speed limits are 53 miles

an hour. So beyond that we don't allow access into the machine. You need to have no ice

presence so that there's not a risk of falling ice for personal injury or damaging equipment,

things like that. (music)

With acceptable wind speeds and no ice present, it's time to climb.

I'm going. Here we go. Inside of the Junction Hilltop towers is a

technical console, a staging area and of course the 260 foot ladder. And the only way

to reach the top is climb. However, before I could start my ascent, Nick and his crew

made sure to go over best climbing practices and review each piece of safety equipment

one more time. Alright, so this is happening. Alright. Here

we go! Climbing nearly the length of a football field

into the sky is no easy task. Thankfully the towers have three platforms that allow for

climbers to rest, as well as a port to watch other climbers scale the ladder.

At this point, you may be wondering, who exactly is allowed to climb a wind turbine? Well,

the answer may surprise you. Siddens: People that have the privilege of

working in the wind energy industry or owning wind energy facilities have the opportunity

to climb wind turbines. And beyond that, friends and family can join

wind turbine owners for a climb when a turbine is shut down for routine maintenance. For

instance, Junction Hilltop has invited Greene County residents, senior citizens and college

students to scale its tower. Tom Wind, who has climbed many towers throughout this career,

still sees wind turbines as an inspiring feat of engineering, as well as a gift to society.

Wind: It still amazes me when I'm near a wind turbine that those blades traveling through

the air can extract so much power. No fuel is used. You don't have to write a check to

an oil company or to a coal company. It's helpful to the environment and it's good for

everybody around. The full effect of Tom's thoughts are easily

felt once you climb into the nacelle, or engine room, at the top of the turbine. With just

a few final steps out onto the roof, the scale of the blades is incredible, and the experience

unparalleled. (music)

(music) As breathtaking as it was, the wind had picked

up by the time we reached the top, so the crew asked us not to stand up. However, if

you lock into the right weather, with all the safety tie-offs available, you can literally

stand on top of the world. (music)

Once you have had your fill of life on top of a turbine, all that is left is the climb

down. While much easier than climbing up, the visual can potentially induce vertigo.

So if you have the opportunity to ascend a turbine, remember, there's no escaping the

descent. Everyone may not get the chance to climb all

the way to the top and see out of a wind turbine, but hopefully this gives you a little bit

of an idea of how incredible it is up there and all of the great renewable energy we have

right here in Iowa. Iowa's waterways can alter dramatically as

the seasons change. Spring rains or summer dry spells can make a river or lake ideal

for fishing or paddling, or fluctuating water levels can ruin the experience entirely.

In early to mid-spring, one Northeast Iowa marsh inhabits that ideal aquatic habitat.

Spring rain and early vegetation combine for a unique paddling experience. And one outfitter

is bringing Iowans along for the journey at Northeast Iowa's Sweet Marsh.

(music) (geese honking)

The sights and sounds of early spring are unmistakable in Northeast

Iowa. The Sweet Marsh Wildlife Management Area is Bremer County is likely a spot you've

never thought to explore. But it is a destination for paddlers and wildlife, drifting and flying

through the cattails and shallow waterways of this Iowa wetland.

Do not leave things in the pockets. They may not be found for a very long time.

Novice and experienced paddlers alike are descending on this quaint corner of Iowa marshland,

following the lead of some experienced Iowa outdoorsmen.

And we have a variety of different kayaks for you to get into tonight. We have a few

that have asked for specific boats. But a couple of things I want to point out real

quick with the paddle, that when you're paddling, to make the boat go forward you're going be

going like this. To go backwards, you're going to push forward with the paddle.

Darrin Siefken, a former county conservation officer, now owns nearby outfitter CrawDaddy

Outdoors. His passion for the simplicities of an early spring paddle have migrated to

his customers. Go ahead and have a seat. Keep your foot out.

How's that? Each spring, Darrin and his outfitter team

invite the public to join in on the adventure, renting a guided kayak trip for Iowans of

varying age and experience. This boat is very turny. It's not you.

Darrin Siefken: Well, through the store and our marsh migration floats it has been ten

years, but I've been here in Bremer County for over 25

years and have been enjoying Sweet Marsh for all those years whether it be kayaking or

canoeing or biking or hiking out here. You go down the channel here at Sweet Marsh where

it's usually fairly protected from the wind and then we basically head out into

the open area. Then we have a couple of different passageways that over the years

we have kind of been using and they have kind of expanded a little bit to where only kayaks

and canoes can make it through those spots. Go on the left.

The lowland topography of Sweet Marsh stands out on an Iowa landscape covered with tiled

and terraced farmland. Its isolation makes the marsh a migratory bird oasis.

Siefken: It's one of the larger marshes and wetland areas in Northeast Iowa and it's one

of the top ten birdwatching spots in the state. And a lot of that has to do with a lot of

the different kinds of habitats whether it be the wetlands, prairies, woodlands, streams,

rivers that come through Sweet Marsh. But a lot of habitats bring a lot of different

bird species in. You've got the shallow water, you've got the deeper water, we've got mud

flats, so we've got all kinds of birds and other wildlife that comes through here. So

I never know what I'm going to see when I come out here to shoot photos.

Kip Ladage is back here in the camouflage. He is always helping us out on these marsh

migration trips. He is from Tripoli, a local wildlife photographer, spends a lot of time

here at the marsh, probably more than anyone else out here at the marsh.

Kip Ladage: I call it my nature fix. I've got to have a nature fix every day.

Kip Ladage spends plenty of quality time in this same wetland each April and May, quietly

drifting through narrow passageways with his camera gear in tow.

Ladage: When I get off of work, or sometimes before I go to work, you never know what the

prescription says, if the weather is good I want to get out and it's how I get away,

it's my relaxation. (music)

The refuge of Sweet Marsh surrounded by miles of open farm fields creates a valuable destination

for a long list of migratory wildlife, herons, pelicans, trumpeter swans, sandhill cranes

and eagles can be seen each year at Sweet Marsh. It creates an opportunity that photographers

like Kip can't afford to pass up. Ladage: We never know what we're going to

see for birds. Earlier in the year is water fowl. We just never know what we're going

to see. Sometimes a specie s will stay for weeks, sometimes they're here

and gone. It's a gamble, but we never get skunked, there's always something to see.

Kip's images are just a snapshot of the Sweet Marsh experience. Paddlers may see a different

migratory bird each week during the spring and conditions on the water are constantly

evolving. The time window for paddling in Sweet Marsh is relatively short. Its location

in Northeast Iowa is heavily managed by conservation officials. More than 3,000 acres of the space

is open for hunting, while 200 acres are set aside as a wildlife refuge. Water levels begin

to drop by the end of May as wildlife personnel prepare the land for food plantings. Those

new food plots encourage migratory birds to return to Sweet Marsh later i

n the fall as the water levels increase prior to hunting season in November. The constantly

changing water depths also makes for a unique paddling experience. Vegetation and water

pools create new and different passageways through the marsh each year, giving

even longtime visitors a reason to keep coming back. For these Iowa adventurers, the first

sings of spring mark a new outdoor chapter, a chance to experience Sweet Marsh for the

first or twentieth time. It's fun to see the excitement in new paddler's

faces or even experienced paddlers when they see the sandhill cranes dancing in front of

them or who knows what we're going to see, but it's really exciting to see that.

(music) Populations of pollinators, like bees and

butterflies, are declining. And that could spell trouble for our ecosystem and food supply.

Several Iowa organizations are determined to reverse the trend and hope to get you involved.

Native pollinators are very important to humans and every animal in our ecosystem. One third

of our global food supply is directly related to pollination. But a variety of pollinating

insects, like bees and butterflies, are disappearing at alarming rates.

Jessie Lowry: Many th ings are happening to pollinators, things

like global climate change, disease, some modern agricultural and landscaping practices,

but most of all, loss of habitat, loss of nectar sources, which is their food resource,

and host plants, which is how they c an reproduce.

Milkweed is the host plant for monarch butterflies. It is the only plant in which they can lay

their eggs, and milkweed is the only plant their caterpillars can eat. Monarchs have

an iconic migration pattern. They winter in Mexico and they move up through the Central

United States generation by generation over the spring and summer until the super butterfly

is born that flies all the way from the upper Midwest back to Mexico.

Steve Bradbury: So you can imagine in a ll those different landscapes there's lots

of different stressors that the monarch populations are facing. How to establish those conservation

practices that can increase habitat in underutilized areas in rural landscapes so we can grow corn

and soybeans and cow and pigs and we can grow monarchs at the same time. We're trying to

find that sweet spot. Lowry: A small backyard garden, even a pot,

can be like a gas station for these insects to stop as they travel between larger swaths

of appropriate habitat. So Blank Park Zoo created the Plant Grow Fly

program to encourage planting specialized butterfly gardens of any size, anywhere.

Lowry: Our plant lists are plants that you can easily find in a greenhouse, that will

thrive in a backyard garden, that are relatively inexpensive and will look nice because people

aren't as used to seeing native gardens as they are used to seeing those exotic plants

that we traditionally use in landscaping. But the good thing is, they can look beautiful,

you can make them look manicured or you can make them look more wild, and they're going

to require a lot less maintenance. The prairie system at Neal Smith Wildlife

Refuge wouldn't be able to survive and reproduce without pollinators. Last year, the refuge

grew 40,000 native plants in its greenhouse to help give Iowans a jump start on planting

large gardens and patches of prairie through its People for Pollinators program.

Karen Viste-Sparkman: We just try to get as much diversity of plants as we can, we try

to get plants that bloom through the seasons, so from spring through fall. There are certain

bee species that are active that whole season and then others that are active for only a

short period. This is a big, important area for breeding butterflies, monarchs but also

for migrating monarchs. And so we need to be sure there are plants blooming when the

monarchs are migrating through. The Iowa Monarch Conservation Consortium is

working on ways to collaborate with the agriculture community on common goals in rural landscapes.

There are even grants and Farm Bill programs that can help farmers get involved.

Bradbury: We're working hard in the state of Iowa to advance our nutrient reduction

strategy. And so there is an increase in the amount of farmers putting in bioreactors and

saturated buffers. And so one of the efforts of the consortium is how to link up these

different activities. So instead of just putting grass on top of a bioreactor let's put monarch

habitat on top of that bioreactor so we can improve water quality and grow monarchs at

the same time on the same footprint. And those flowering plants that we're picking, we're

picking them to also be sure that they're attractive to native bees.

During the peak of monarch migration, which is usually mid-September in Iowa, several

groups help tag monarchs for research. Volunteers catch the butterflies and attach a small sticker

with information on it. And hopefully this little girl will be found

in Mexico and we can track the migration of it. She came from Blank Park Zoo. And we'll

let her go. (music)

Lowry: It's going to take empowering school children and a change in mindset about what

a garden is for. It's not just for humans to think something is beautiful, it is habitat

for animals. And a successful pollinator garden is a garden that the leaves will be chewed

up, there will be larvae present, there will be predators present, there will be this whole

ecosystem. Bradbury: So it's something everybody can

do to pitch in and it really is an all hands on deck. We know agricultural acres, landscape

is going to be really important. But even if we did everything on agricultural land

it won't be enough. We need everybody pitching in and it's kind of fun because it draws everybody

together in the state with the same goal. Lowry: And I feel that pollinator decline

and monarch decline is kind of like what happened with the bald eagle, we saw that something

was wrong and we needed to fix it or we were going to lose this charismatic animal, we

made the right decision and now we have bald eagles. I think that is going to happen in

the case of the monarch too. (music)

Over the past two decades, the number of outdoor trails in Iowa has expanded exponentially.

From walking, hiking, biking and even designated water trails, Iowa communities have invested

heavily in these opportunities. One organization has digitized this experience

to help you find and navigate the trails that crisscross Iowa and the resource is likely

already in the palm of your hand. The Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation has played

a key role in developing Iowa's extensive trail system for the past 30 years. They refer

to Iowa as the world capital of trails. Kerri Sorrell: Trails provide such a great

opportunity to get people outside, to connect them to these natural areas and to really

have them understand the value of the connection between trails and natural areas and quality

of life. Andrea Boulton: I think that connectivity

is definitely the key driver to a lot of the trail projects that we're seeing done today.

People want to go somewhere but in the same sense they also want to have a good experience

as they're going there. To help trail users navigate their way around,

the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation maintains a mobile app called Iowa By Trail. It features

interactive trail maps for all of Iowa's multi-use trails. It tells you what activities the trail

will accommodate, the app will geolocate you and follow you along the trail. It highlights

points of interest you'll pass along the way, like natural resources, parks, historic sites

and restaurants. It has a ride calculator to track your speed and distance. And the

app even provides weather information for the trail so you can plan ahead.

Boulton: I think our trail system is in great shape. We continue to expand it and grow it.

If I could add anything other than the need for sustainable maintenance it would be additional

funding. There are so many different opportunities out there that exist right now to build trails.

Sorrell: A big goal that we have with the app is extending beyond the multi-use trail

system, so incorporating those hiking trails, those mountain biking trails and eventually

the water trails in Iowa, really getting people to see the full picture of the trail experience

throughout the state. Just like the trail system, the app is ever

evolving. So download it and let it help you explore and get to know Iowa by trail.

While the Iowa By Trail app is a handy tool out and about our state, the talented production

team here at IPTV is bringing you a new video resource this season.

It is called IPTV's Trail in a Minute, where we'll show you a first person view of a different

Iowa hiking, biking or water trail each episode. It's a great opportunity to relive a previous

outdoor experience or to plan a future adventure, and it's a pretty cool way to view the Iowa

outdoors. For avid cyclists, few municipal trails are

as nice as the Trout Run trail in Decorah.

Whether you're visiting Northeast Iowa for fishing, camping, hiking or biking, this 11-mile

loop provides a perfect sampling of Decorah and its wonderfully distinct setting. Surrounded

by rolling hills and steep bluffs, the trail's name comes from its five trout stream crossings

and its swing by the famous Decorah fish hatchery. (music)

With moderate inclines and a multitude of switchbacks, cyclists of every skill level

can enjoy this trail. Of course, if you're looking for something truly unique, you'll

definitely want a firsthand look at the cut, a section of the trail blasted open to offer

an experience you won't find anywhere else. (music)

After the cut, you're just a short distance from town, a perfect excuse for a break from

cycling to stop into a local shop, art gallery or restaurant. The Trout Run Trail in Decorah,

definitely somewhere you'll want more than a minute to enjoy.

That wraps up this first episode of our seventh season of Iowa Outdoors. We encourage

you to get outside and explore Iowa's parks and recreational opportunities. If you're

planning any outdoor travel, check out our extensive video archive of adventures at iptv.org/iowaoutdoors.

Our latest season of Iowa Outdoors will bring you more episodes than ever before with extra

stories from every corner of our state. We'll leave you now with some more images of Iowa's

outdoor environments. (nature sounds)

The Meeting Part 6 | Spoken Word Poetry | By: Poetic Daisy - Duration: 1:33.

The Meeting Part 6

I walked into his office once more Thinking this man has no idea what's in

store For him.

Today he didn't seem as grim Guess that's what happens when you pass.

"I couldn't help but think about the last Time I was here.

You made it clear That you wouldn't help if I couldn't pass

the test And after trying my best

Somehow I did.

But one major thing still remains hid, Who are you?"

He said "The examination is through So there's no more need to do

Tests, I've agreed to help your business.

We can develop and begin implementing a plan in minutes

How does that sound?

Because I know you've found Me because I'm the best around

I'm the best in town So let's get down

To this business plan."

I wondered how can this man Who was just so confident squirm when asked

the question?

How was he teaching me a lesson When he won't even answer it himself?

How could I let this sit on a shelf And move on, I wanted his help but now I'm

worried.

I hurried To say "I'd love to do the plan, but I

asked you who you are, You turn away people near and far

Because they can't answer, so it must have some merit

But now you seem embarrassed That I would ask such a thing.

I don't want to be mean But who are you?"

…To Be Continued…

The End.

Summer Hair Tips | Dad Hair School | Babble - Duration: 1:33.

Hey, guys! It's Phil.

And Emma.

We're here at Aulani at Disney Resort and Spa.

We're on vacation.

And you know what that means...

swimming!

Woah, woah, woah, woah!

First we've got to go over some tips and tricks that are going to help your child avoid damaging

their hair from the pool and the sun.

So stay tuned.

The first tip I want to discuss is something as simple as having a hat.

By wearing this hat, it'll prevent the sun from damaging their scalp and damaging the hair.

Well it's not this certain hat, you can wear any hat.

Any hat, of course.

But remember, when you're going swimming and the hat comes off, take care of the part.

By applying sunblock directly to the part, you can prevent sunburning, which can be very painful.

The second tip I want to discuss is simple ways to protect their hair

while they're in the pool.

Make sure to braid their hair.

This is going to help prevent tangles.

And then get their hair wet and use some leave-in conditioner.

This will avoid the pool or the ocean from damaging their hair.

For my third tip, it's to be prepared.

For that, we have a little haircare bag.

Inside, we have a brush and a comb held together by an elastic.

You never know when you're going to need this stuff.

And also, little travel-size shampoos and conditioners.

When they get out of the water, have them rinse and condition their hair.

It'll keep it nice and healthy.

And for my final and most important tip: have fun!

Can we go swimming now?

Absolutely.

Let's go!

Haha, thanks for watching!
