hey
Before this video starts, I wanted to tell you a little story
once again if you don't give a shit about that, here is the time code : 1:54
There is no guarantee that this story is really interesting
so don't blame me
I've started this chanel one year ago, and I've always wanted to make the Master Sword
So I've started doing that like one year ago
But I was just starting in prop making and these stuffs, so I didn't have a lot of experiences
So I've tried to put some mastic on the blade but I made a mistake on the measures of the products
Because I'm stupid
The result was really disgusting
like really disgusting
So I gave up on that project, but I didn't throw it, just hide this freak of nature so that no one could see it
And recently I saw that thing from the collector of Breath of the Wild, and I thought this was really cool
And then I saw that, and I thought it was even cooler
So I told myself "EH the result here is a disgusting master sword, lucky me, I DO have a disgusting master sword"
So I took it back
even though it was well hidden
So I will show you some pictures of how it was, and don't blame me, I was strating making things
So here it is now, still disgusting but in the way I wanted it, so that's cool
And we'll make the stand
with ... oops
With lights and a little bit of smoke
So here is the story, told you it wasn't really insteresting but eh
So, let's go !
so the Zelda's fans were teased, I hope you will not be disapointed
there are lots of videos on Youtube showing how to build the master sword, so my tuto about that will be really quick
But what we'll see is how to build this stand with a system of lights and smoke
So for the blade I used a 5cm wide and 1cm thick wooden plank (pine), and the blade itself should be something like 70cm
Sorry if you don't use the metric system lol
And for the guard I used a thicker wooden plank on which I drew the pattern
And you can scultp the reliefs with clay or apoxie sculpt, as you want
then sand the edges of the blades, and create some cracks with any kind of saw (if you want the deteriorated model, of course
And for the handle I simply used a wooden stick, wrapped into craftfoam strips
And paint this foam with this kind of green
oh and I also made a golden gem with polymer clay
for the blade I choosed a chrome paint, because as you can see it reflects the light really well
And for the damaged areas I used a rusty-colored spray paint, and made a gradation with brown, red and black acrylic paint
So now it's time for the stand, told you it would be quick
Let's be simple with that, we have 5 layers, numbered that way :
cut out 4 triangles in the insulation foam, and be sure they are exactly the same, and that they can fit these objects
And these are oil diffusers, which will allow us to make the smoke effect
And I took 3 LED spots because they were really cheap but you can use LED strips if you want
on the layers 1 and 2, cut out 2 circles to fit these doors stops, it will balance with the weight of the master sword and keep everything in place
then cut in the plexiglas a shape a bit larger than the space we left to put the leds and the oil diffusers
drill some hole on the edges and screw everthing together
drill some holes to let the air in for the oil diffusers, and cut a rectangle large enough to put the master sword inside
And in the plexiglas again, cut a small triangle like 15*15*15cm
cut the 5th triangle in the insulation foam, which will be smaller than the 4 others
draw out the plexiglas triangle on it, and cut into your drawing but be careful not to touch the lines
then cut 5mm deep into your lines, and cut a second time at a 90degree angle so that the plexiglass triangle will fit
And don't forget to cut an other rectangle to put your master sword through
Then glue together the 4 first layers, and add 3 magnets so that you will be able to remove the 5th layer when needed
And the boring part is done
sand everything, put white glue or wooden glue everywhere
And you can start painting with the colors you want, I choose a weird brown for that
once again, put some glue and use fake moss to make a more natural effect to the stand
try different colors to make it more realistic
And you might be wondering why I'm not using natural moss
So Natural moss will rot with the time, and there are lot of little inscts like mites, and I don't know about you, but I'm allergic to mites so ...
once you've finished that you just had to put everything inside
As you can see, the oil diffusers I have make different colors, so you can choose any color you want
I choosed green, and I put thin greeen sheets on the led spots, but you can of course, once again, put led strips instead
On the collector we can see a little flower, I don't know the name of this flower, sorry
So I bought a cheap fake one (the kind of flower you MUST NOT offer to someone)
I just customised it but putting some blue with an oil pastel, but the result will look more natural if you use an airbrush
then just put the flower inside the insulation foam and it will stick by itself
then you have finished
The result should be nice if you do it correctly
I remind you that you're free with the color and everything
And you don't even have to put fancy stuffs like smoke or light
just try and see how you want it, that's the best thing to do
as usual, post in the comment your ideas for the next project
That's it for me, see you in 2 weeks !
