Transfer news LIVE updates: Lukaku speaks out on Man Utd move; Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal

Transfer news LIVE updates: Lukakus Man Utd medical, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool latest Sunday July 9 09:50: Everton striker Romelu Lukaku admits he turned down the chance to rejoin Chelsea this summer because he already agreed a move to Manchester United.

Manchester United announced yesterday that they had agreed a fee with Everton for Lukaku, believed to be an initial £75million rising to £90m with add-ons.

Chelsea are thought to have made a late bid to re-sign the Belgium international, but he already had his heart set on a move to Old Trafford. My mind was already set, Lukaku told ESPN when asked about Chelseas interest.

I gave my word, and I dont look back. I didnt look back since, and I was already mentally preparing to be part of the team. 05:00: Arsenal are considering a deal for Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, reports claim.

The Gunners have sent scouts to watch the Croatia international on a number of occasions. And according to ESPN FC, Inter are willing to listen to offers for the midfielder.

The San Siro giants need to sell players to comply with FFP (Financial Fair Play) rules. 04:00: Chelsea could announce a deal for Antonio Rudiger as soon as today, reports claim.

They have intensified their interest in the Roma defender after being frustrated in their efforts to sign Juventus' Leonardo Bonucci and Southampton star Virgil van Dijk.

Reports emerged yesterday Rudiger's agent was in London to tie up the loose ends of a £34million deal. And according to the Sun on Sunday, the transfer could be wrapped up today.

01:00: Antonio Conte is reportedly set to hold showdown talks with Chelsea chiefs after failing to sign Romelu Lukaku. The Everton striker is on the brink of joining Manchester United.

Express Sport understands Conte is 'livid' over the situation. So much so, he is considering his future.

Saturday July 8 22.30: Gary Neville has torn into Everton striker Romelu Lukaku ahead of his move to Manchester United. Lukaku will become United's second acquisition of the summer, following the arrival of Victor Lindelof from Benfica last month.

But United legend Neville has some concerns about the transfer.

"He went missing in too many matches I saw, but with a better team + players around him he has an improved chance to deliver in big matches." 20.25: Real Madrid star Alvaro Morata thought his obvious next destination was Chelsea just a couple of months ago, according to Spanish football expert Sid Lowe.

Chelsea and Manchester United have both been keen on signing the Spain striker but have been caught up in the current Romelu Lukaku situation.

Lowe explained how Chelsea were originally the first of the two Premier League giants who wanted Morata and he and his representatives were surprised they did not come in for him early this summer.  Earlier in the spring he thought his obvious next destination was Chelsea, there was a slight sense of surprise in the Morata camp that Chelsea hadnt come in with a big bid, presumably because they focused all of their attention on Lukaku because perhaps Antonio Contes long-term future isnt entirely tied down at Chelsea, Lowe said on ESPN FC.

19.45: Marco Verratti will join Barcelona from Paris Saint-Germain this summer and it will be a perfect signing for Ernesto Valverde, according to pundit Shaka Hislop.

Verratti has been linked with a mega-money switch from PSG to Barcelona for the majority of the transfer window. Hislop believes he is a perfect signing for them and says he can be a long-term replacement for Andres Iniesta.

In the end though I think common sense will prevail and I say common sense in inverted commas because it will probably mean a price thats far less than common sense.  I think it gets done and I think it works perfectly well. 18:36: Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has left Everton's training complex.

Rooney was spotted arriving at Finch Farm (16:40) earlier this afternoon. His arrival appears to confirm that Everton will be signing their former star in the next few days.

18:09: Tottenham are in talks over a deal to sign Mateo Kovacic from Real Madrid. Spurs are seeking fresh faces this summer as they prepare for a third successive title challenge in the Premier League.

No big names are yet to arrive at the north London club. But the Daily Star claim Kovacic is subject to negotiations between Spurs bosses and their Real Madrid counterparts.

The midfielder is available for £22million and Real are keen to sell, with Dani Ceballos expected to arrive from Real Betis on Monday.

1800: Chelsea should not look to replace Diego Costa with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang because not even Jurgen Klopp wants to take him to Liverpool, according to pundit Alejandro Moreno.

Chelsea are in the market for a striker after manager Antonio Conte told Costa he can leave the club this summer.

Moreno says the fact Klopp, who managed the Gabon international for two years at Borussia Dortmund, has not tried to sign him at Liverpool should put Chelsea off.

He seemed to be the hot property and somehow he kind of fell of the radar, PSG doesnt want him anymore, and this team doesnt want him anymore, he said on ESPN FC.

Even a guy like Jurgen Klopp who had him at Borussia Dortmund, there is no conversation of that going on. 17.30: Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho must remind Romelu Lukaku of how he wants him to play once he has completed his move from Everton, according to pundit Alejandro Moreno.

United announced earlier today they had agreed a fee with Everton for the Belgium forward with a medical and personal terms to be sorted.

Moreno believes Lukaku must be an out-and-out striker for United and leave his creative side of the game behind him straight away.

He has to be reminded and it has to happen right away when he gets into Manchester United that we want you to stay central, he said on ESPN FC. Stop going out into wider areas.

Youre going to be most dangerous inside the 18-yard box because of this body, because of this frame, because of your ability to get on the end of things. 17:14: MAN UTD DONE DEAL FOR PEREIRA Manchester United have locked goalkeeper Joel Pereira down to a new contract.

The deal sees Pereira, 21, extend his Old Trafford stay until 2021. There is an option to add a further 12 months onto that agreement.

I have been at United for a number of years now and since the first day here I have enjoyed every minute," he told United's website.

"Over the last season I feel I have made great progress as a goalkeeper and this will stand me in good stead for continuing my development as a Manchester United player.

"There have been many memorable moments for me at this club; however, making my debut for the first team at Old Trafford was unbelievable for me and my family.

"I want to thank the manager and his coaching team for the help and guidance they have given me and I look forward to playing a part in the squad for many years to come. 16:40: ROONEY ARRIVES AT EVERTON BASE Everton are closing in on a deal to sign Wayne Rooney after the striker was spotted arriving at their training ground.

Rooney, 31, is free to leave Manchester United after 13 years at the Old Trafford club. He wants to return to his boyhood side and is willing to take a pay cut to make the move happen.

And He was seen driving into Everton's Finch Farm complex today. WAYNE ROONEY TO EVERTON IN PICTURES 15:18: Arsenal will refuse all offers from Liverpool to sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Arsenal are ready to sell Oxlade-Chamberlain and Express Sport understands he was an early summer target of Liverpool. Liverpool are keen to add to their squad further after signing Mohamed Salah from Roma in a club-record deal.

The Gunners are thought to want around £40million for Oxlade-Chamberlain. But they will not let the England international leave for Liverpool.

In fact, the Liverpool Echo claim Arsenal are so internet not to sell to a Premier League rival that Oxlade-Chamberlain could be retained for the final year of his contract.

The midfielder is yet to pen a new deal at the Emirates, meaning he could leave on a free transfer next summer.

Arsenal rarely let their top stars run down their contracts, with Robin van Persie sold to Manchester United in 2012 in a £24m deal. They are in the same predicament with Alexis Sanchez, who is wanted to Manchester City.

The Gunners are desperate for Sanchez to stay but if he forces an exit this summer they are hopeful City are not the only club in for him.

The Daily Star claim neither man will be able to force Arsenal into selling to Premier League clubs.

15:16: Gareth Bales agent has told the Real Madrid board he will NOT be forced into a move to PSG - and that if he does leave he will only join Manchester United.

Jonathan Barnett met the Madrid chiefs and told them of Bale's wishes, according to reports in Spain.

Bale is keen to stay and fight for his place at Madrid but if he is forced out would be keen on joining Jose Mourinho's resolution at United.

And it is claimed Bale's people have told Madrid to listen if an offer from Old Trafford is made. Dario Gol report that Barnet met with the board to issue Bale's demands.

14:52: DONE DEAL - Wolfsburg have signed striker Kaylen Hinds from Arsenal. Hinds signed for Arsenal as a youngster in 2014 before signing his first professional contract with the Gunners a year later.

The 19-year-old was highly regarded at Arsenal but failed to make a single senior for the north London club. And Hinds, who has represented England at youth level on 15 occasions, has today completed a move to Wolfsburg.

The Bundesliga club, who are managed by former Arsenal academy coach Andries Jonker, are said to have paid Arsenal £2million for the striker. 14:47: Romelu Lukaku will undergo a medical ahead of signing for Manchester United today.

United confirmed they have agreed a fee with Everton this morning and now Lukaku will have a medical and discuss personal terms. United want Lukaku to spearhead their attack next season after the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

14:24: Real Madrid are to sign Dani Ceballos from Real Betis. Barcelona want to sign Ceballos but appear to have lost out to their La Liga rivals.

Spanish newspaper Marca claim Real have agreed a £15.9m deal for Ceballos. The midfielder will sign a six-year contract on Sunday, with the transfer wrapped up on Monday.

14:03: Arsenal and Liverpool have contacted Real Madrid about signing Marco Asensio, according to reports in Spain. Asensio enjoyed an impressive breakthrough campaign at Real Madrid last season.

The Spain international helped Real to a La Liga and Champions League double with 10 goals and four assists in his 38 appearances.

And despite being used sparingly last season by Real head coach Zinedeine Zidane, Spanish outlet Diario Gol claim Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in signing the 21-year-old.

Serie A giants Juventus and Inter Milan are also said to be keeping tabs on Asensios availability this summer. 14:00: WATFORD DONE DEAL Watford have signed Sam Howes from West Ham.

The 20-year-old goalkeeper arrives from Hammers and goes straight into Watford's development squad. "Pleased to have signed for Watford FC, looking forward to start [sic] of a new chapter and challenges ahead," he tweeted.

13:04: Manchester United will struggle to sign Eric Dier this summer. The Red Devils are said to be interested in the midfielder.

A £50m bid is supposedly being lined up. But the Independent claim Spurs will knock back any offer for their star man.

Dier only signed a new contract at the north London club last season and has been integral to their title challenges in the past two campaigns.

12:22: Chelsea appear to be closing in on the signing of Roma defender Antonio Rudiger. Blues boss Antonio Conte is desperate to strengthen his defence after releasing John Terry and selling Nathan Ake to Bournemouth in a £20million deal.

According to Sky Sports, Rudigers agent has this morning arrived in London to finalise the Germany internationals move to Chelsea.

Chelsea, who are said to have agreed a £34million fee with Roma last week, are expected to complete the transfer over the next 48 hours.

12:19: AC Milan are ready to launch a £70.7m bid for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, claim numerous outlets in Italy. Corriere dello Sport claim Milan are determined to land the Gabon striker.

Dortmund are aware that a number of European clubs are chasing him and will sell at the right price. It is claimed Aubameyang has already rejected a chance to move to China.

The 26-year-old is set to play Champions League football for Dortmund next season, with Milan down to start their Europa League qualifying campaign later this month.

12:15: Chelsea have been offered a stunning double deal to sign Alvaro Morata and James Rodriguez. Diario Gol claim Florentino Perez has contacted Chelsea to make the offer.

Perez is keen to offload both players and think Chelsea will take the pair for £132m (€150m). 11:55: Everton have seen their odds slashed by the bookies to sign Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk.

The Toffees have wasted no time at all in the transfer window, having spent over £90million on five recruits already this summer.

And according to bookmakers Betfair, Evertons odds of signing Van Dijk have been slashed from 50/1 earlier this week to just 7/2.

Evertons Merseyside rivals Liverpool looked set to sign the Holland international before they were forced to end their pursuit. Southampton reported Liverpool for making an illegal approach for the Dutchman.

But Betfair reckon Liverpool are still the favourites to sign Van Dijk at odds of 11/8. 11:41: SUNDERLAND DONE DEAL Sunderland have signed Tyias Browning on a season-long loan from Everton.

The defender links up with his former Preston manager Simon Grayson at the Stadium of Light. He enjoyed a brief stint at Preston on loan last term.

11:09: Southampton have reportedly joined the race to sign Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek. The 21-year-old, who has been on the books at Chelsea since 2004, managed just six Premier League appearances as the Blues clinched the title last term.

Newly-promoted sides Newcastle and Brighton have both been linked with loan moves for the England Under-21 international. And according to The Mirror, Southampton are in pole position to sign Loftus-Cheek on a season-long loan deal.

10:35: Leeds United have lined up a deal to sign SD Huesca striker Samuel Saiz. The Yorkshire Evening Post claim a £3m deal between the two clubs should soon be agreed.

Saiz, 26, could arrive at the Elland Road club on Monday. 09:30: Manchester United have announced they have reached an agreement for Romelu Lukaku.

The Everton striker is now set for a medical and talks over personal terms before joining up with United. Chelsea had wanted to sign Lukaku but look to have missed out despite matching Uniteds offer last night.

04:10: Manchester United won't mind overpaying for Romelu Lukaku, according to Scott Minto. United and Everton have agreed a £75million fee for Lukaku, despite a late charge by Chelsea.

And Minto thinks the Red Devils wpn't lose too much sleep over the fee, telling Express Sport: "Mourinho realises hes at a massive club.

There is a massive expectation and a massive bridge to gap.  Hes probably thinking Lets put out the money to get these players and if we overpay then thats what we will have to do'." 01:15: Diego Costa is reportedly ready to reconcile with Antonio Conte and salvage his Chelsea future.

Costa was informed via text message last month he wouldn't fit into Conte's plans. A move back to Atletico Madrid has been on the cards, although the La Liga giants are currently serving a transfer ban.

And according to The Sun, Costa is willing to hold showdown talks with Conte to see where he stands. It is said that while Costa would demand a pay rise to stay at Stamford Bridge, a truce might be cost effective.

Friday July 7 23:30: Wayne Rooney will reportedly accept a big pay cut to rejoin Everton from Manchester United. Reports earlier today, suggested he will complete his switch to Goodison Park in the next 48 hours.

Previously, it was suggested Everton were baulking at stumping up Rooney's £250,000-a-week wages. And according to the Daily Mail, Rooney will earn £150,000-a-week when he rejoins the Toffees.

21:00 CHELSEA TARGET LUKAKU Chelsea have reportedly made a sensational rival offer to sign Romelu Lukaku from under the noses of Manchester United.

"I'm a direct player, I feel like I can bring excitement in the final third and this is the perfect place for me to continue my education and development." 20:18: LIVERPOOL NEW CONTRACT Liverpool have handed 18-year-old Trent Alexander-Arnold a new contract at Anfield.
