Today in Military History: 7/16 - Atom bomb tested - Duration: 1:11.

Today in military history, 1945,

the atomic bomb was successfully tested

by the United States.

During World War II, the Manhattan Project

was created to continue the efforts

to develop a uranium bomb.

In 1943, Robert J. Oppenheimer,

director of Project Y at a lab in New Mexico,

and his team made significant progress

in the development of harnessing a nuclear explosion

and the creation of a deliverable bomb.

The next step was to put their theories to the test.

From about five-and-a-half miles away,

the scientists watched as Trinity, the first atomic bomb,

was detonated in the New Mexico desert.

Less than a month later, similar devices would be dropped

on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan,

killing at least 129,000 people

and finally ending the Second World War.

Porsche GT3 Facelift: 991.1 vs. 991.2 | What are the differences? - Duration: 10:09.

Hello and welcome to a new video!

Finally I made a video of the GT3

because you asked for that frequently

but this video is not only about my GT3

but mostly about the new 991.2 GT3 facelift

the facelifted version of my car

Let's have a look at all the differences

First of all I would like to mention that there will be no high speed scenes on the race track

we are at the Bilster Berg racetrack currently

but we cannot drive with the cars on the track

this one has only 2.400km on the clock and you cannot rev it up to 9.000rpm

Maybe I get a chance to testdrive it when I get another opportunity

but not today. Today I will show you the visual and technical differences

of course I will sit in the car and drive it a little bit

but as I said: do not expect high speed driving in this video

Let's start right here with the most important change, the front bumper

If you have a look at the 991.2 GT3, you can see that the air intakes

do not have a "V"-shape anymore

but it's an upside down V-shape now

from the inner side to the outer lower side

Let's have a look at the pre-facelift model

Here you have the typical V-shape

it goes from the outer side on top to the inner lower side

I guess this the most notably change

Additionally you have on the GT3 facelift

those new aerodynamic vents

but unfortunately those are not painted

they are always made of plastic

doesn't look that good in my opinion but it works

there are also some changes at the rear of the car

the wing is a little bit higher as you might see

it is a few inches higher and moved more in the back

the other changes are those intake vents below the wing

the pre-facelift model has the air intake as one piece

and it is painted and in my case it's wrapped

and here we have two air intakes made of plastic

and we have also here an air outtake

this is placed differently than on the pre-facelift model

something you can easily notice are the taillights

these are looking a little bit different

on the pre-facelift model the taillights are in a flat shape

and the new ones are more like 3D looking

the facelift model also has a diffuser which the pre-facelift model didn't have

some tech details: the pre-facelift model

has a 3.8 liter Boxer engine with 475hp

and a 4.0 liter engine with 500hp

some like the current GT3RS, but it is a different engine

what else do we have?

Let's have a look on the inside of the car, because there we got some changes too

Something which is not new but different to my car are the full bucket seats

I have the foldable bucket seats and those are the 918 bucket seats

the foldable bucket seats look like this

you can easily fold them and

and as you can see, you can throw your stuff and luggage behind the seats

another cool feature of the seats is

the seats are adjustable in height

so even I could look above the steering wheel instead of looking under it ;)

and

one disadvantage of this car are the seats.

but it is only a disadvantage for me

I travel a lot and I want to store a lot of luggage in the car

you cannot fold the seats as I said

and I have always a lot of luggage in the cage

it would be difficult here, because you cannot fold the seats

something which is new on the 991.2 models - not only on the GT3 - is the PCM

the navigation system with the larger display

it is easy to use and has a quick response

but I notice that it really gets very hot

it's pretty hot on the surface

I don't know why

I also have a smartphone which is known for getting hot too

but this display is even hotter

on the steering wheel are also some changes

on the pre-facelift model those parts were painted in silver

those elements are now black

something that is very important to say about the car is

that you can order it with a manual gearbox

you could only order the PDK in the pre-facelift model

now you can order this car with a manual gearbox

that's cool for eveyone who loves manual driving

this car also has the clubsport package

that means it comes with a cage

and also the six point racing harness

but I don't use them very often, because it is not that comfortable

when I drive a mountain-pass I like to use them

but on other regular roads I don't use them

and I prefer the standard seatbelt

it is also faster. It takes ages to use the six point harness

I'm gonna drive around the area of the Bilster Berg racetrack

I'm not driving on the racetrack

because the car cannot handle high revs yet

I just have a look on the differences

and driving fast is also possible with my GT3

Okay, the first GT3 with a 4.0l engine

on this area you don't drive top speed of course

and I have to obey this

I'm going to record some footage here

to have some nice videos scenes

this was my little comparison of the 991.1 and 991.2 GT3

I hope you enjoyed the video

although I couldn't drive the cars on the track

but I'm going to drive on this race track in my next video!

not with those two, but with a Ford Mustang and a Ford Focus RS

I can't wait for that, but you will see more of that in my next video!

thank you Bilster Berg for letting me filming the cars

if you like the video, please leave a thumb up

and don't forget to subscribe to my channel

so you will always be up to date of what I am doing here and which cars I drive next

thank you very much for watching, see you next time!

ONION TART I French recipe — HM, #4 - Duration: 7:45.

Hello, friends!

If you're watching this video, then you don't afraid of the word "onion".

Serious, this onion tart tastes like meat.

I promise! Just taste it!

Let's go!

Take 125 of butter from the fridge. It have to be cold.

Grate it in a bowl.

Sift 225 g of flour.

1 full tbsp, like this, it's 50 g. We need 4 and 1/2 tbsp.

Add 3 tbsp of sour cream.

If you don't have sour cream - use mayonnaise.

If you don't have mayonnaise - go to shop.

And 1/2 tsp of salt.

About spoons..

Take salt.

Remove hill.

It's 1 tsp.

It's half.

Slightly mix.

Do it quick to not give butter melt.

Then use hands.

Mix not long, only until smooth.

Make a ball.

Cover dough with film or bowl with plate.

And put in fridge for 30 minutes.

Put frying pan on a medium-low heat.

Pour 1 tbsp of vegetable oil

and piece of butter.

At the same time, boil 1 pan of water.

Onion.

We need only 4 medium onions.

Peel and chop.

Make horizontal cuts.

[Don't cut to the end]

Then vertical cuts.

And chop.

Put onion in colander and drench with boiling water.

We make it to remove bitterness. And wash with cold water well.

Let water drain.

When pan heated up - put onion.

Gently mix.

And sauté for 30-40 minutes. It's sauteing, not frying, so it's absolutely healthy.

Take a bowl, that you used for dough. Don't dirty other bowls - you'll wash it!

Take processed cheese without additives.

Grate 2 packages (200 g).

Read ingredients, it should be without flavor enhancers.

Add 1 egg,

1 more egg

and white from third egg.

We'll smear top of tart with this yolk.

Save it!

Chop any greens.

You can use dried herbs.

Add good pinch of salt.

Black ground pepper.

And mix until smooth.

Done. Now, turn on the oven and let it heat to 200 C (400 F).

Stir onion occasionally!

After 30 minutes, halve dough. 1 half cover with film and put back in the fridge.

Sprinkle table with flour.

And roll it out.

Some flour on rolling pin.

Correct edges.

It have to be about 5 mm thickness.

We'll use this baking dish.

You can buy disposable aluminum form - no washing and easy transportation. You can take it to work.

Diameter of dough base have to be larger than form.

Spread dish with butter.

Place dough.

Make borders.

Pierce with a fork.

Put in the oven for 10 minutes.

Onion become soft and transparent, so take it

and add to filling.

Mix until smooth.

Take second half of dough.

Roll it out, as first one.

But diameter have to be equal to form diameter.

We make all thing at the same time to save..time.

Take it out.

Put stuffing.

Spread from the center to edges.

Cover with dough.

Wrap the edges.

Do you remember about yolk?

Mix it slightly.

Add 1 tbsp of milk of water.

My milk is slightly sour.. But it doesn't matter.

Mix and smear the top.

You can use finger, if don't have brush.

We'll have golden crust!

Make a few pierces.

A few tens..

Also you can decorate it with a scissor.

We divide it in 8 parts.

Like this.

Put in the oven for 30 minutes.

After 15 minutes, smear with yolk ones more.

In the end, take it out and let cool.

Then put it in fridge for a 1 hour. Serve it cold or heat up in microwave.

Give it to your friends, but don't say it's onion tart - ask what is it

and write variants from your friends in comments.

If you like this video - put your finger up, subscribe and write comments! See ya!

Multi TONE 3D printing with ANY 3D printer! - Duration: 9:44.

In this video I'm going to show you a simple method that will enable you to create multi-color

or better multi-tone prints with any FDM 3D printer.

Guten Tag everyone, I'm Stefan and welcome to CNC kitchen.

Okay, so I was already working on this method since quite a while and was kind of shocked

last week when I saw the thumbnail of Devins video from his Make Anything channel.

Fortunately, he toned his wood prints with wood strain and did not use the method I'm

going to show you.

So if you know my other videos you might have seen that I like to test new filaments with

temperature test towers to find out the perfect print settings.

When I did that with the laywood filament I bought, I was kind of surprised to see that

there was a significant change in the color of the print depending on the temperature

I printed it at.

This is actually nothing new and kind of well-known for wood filaments.

They write that you can use it to change the color of you prints but I have never seen

it really done by anyone so far.

Since I don't have the multi material upgrade for my Prusa i3 or any other mutli material

printer, I thought that I should developed a technique to use the color changing ability

of wood filament for getting a kind of similar effect.

By using the multi-color printing options in Slic3r or Simplify 3D you're also able

to vary the temperature of your hotend for specific regions of your part.

If you are doing multi color or multi material printing you usually separate your part in

single stls, each for a different color.

I use the same technique, but I later change some parts of the G Code so that not the material

or printhead is changed but the hotend temperature is set to a different value.

This might sound simple at first, but I noticed that I had to play around with the algorithm

quite a bit to get nice print results.

So I used LAYwood filament which has a nice contrast between 190 and 240°C printing temperature.

I also tried using Colorfabbs wood filament which did not really show that property.

I'm very sure that there are different wood filaments out there which also work well.

If you have one of them please let us know in the comments!

If you want to try it on your own and want to support the channel you'll find affiliate

links down in the videos description.

So I got this method working with both Simplify 3D and Slic3r but only nicely finished it

in Slic3r because the latest version of the Slic3r Prusa edition added the support for

they multi material extruder with well working prime towers.

I'll be shortly showing you the workflow and will then be going into the details how

and why it works.

I programmed a quick and dirty EXCEL conversion tool which you can download from my github.

If you don't have EXCEL I'll also show you how you can easily perform all the steps

in a text editor.

Two things before I start.

This method is not perfect and will require some manual work.

If you have an improvement, please let me know.

If you like the method and want to see it in your favorite slicing software then just

let Prusa, Ultimaker or Simplify3D know.

If there are enough of you spreading the word this could become a neat little stock feature.

If you are or know a filament manufacturer please let me know if there is a pigment around

which does also permanently change its color depending on the temperature you print it.

Having a PLA with that property would be so cool!

All right.

So let's open up Pursas Slic3r edition.

If you don't have it yet, you can download it from his website.

You load the first portion of your dual color part, double click on it and load the second

half.

If you have a proper model the parts should now be aligned perfectly.

Now assign extruder 1 and 2 to the pieces of your model.

I created two filament profiles, one with 190°C and one with 240°C printing temperature.

You might need to adjust the extrusion multiplier for each temperature separately.

You will also need to create a wood print profile.

I printed the wood filament at around 30mm/s for the best results.

I also reduced the size of the prime tower because you don't really need that much

and save some filament that way.

Now you set one printing temperature for your first and the other one for your second filament.

Drag the position of the prime tower next to your part that the travel moves and not

so long.

Slice your part and save the G Code to your hard drive.

If you own Microsoft EXCEL then open up the conversion tool and make sure that there are

the same printtemperatures in the sheet as you have assigned in Slic3r.

Select your G Code file and start the conversion.

If you have done everything properly then it will tell you how many temperature change

entries were replaced.

If you get an error message check the temperatures you have set.

Now just upload your file to the printer and hit start.

I will provide my profiles for my Original Prusa i3 MK2 also on my Github for download.

So now at each temperature change the hotend will move next to the prime tower, wait until

the new temperature was reached, prime the nozzle and continue printing.

Depending on the number of layer changes the print job will now take quite some time longer,

since heating up my E3D V6 from 190 to 240°C takes around 30 seconds and the same vice

versa.

The parts unfortunately do end up kind of stringy with the wood filament, but that's

usually easy to clean up.

Now let's take a look how I changed the G Code in order to change the temperature

during Slicers material changing procedure.

So the Prusa Multi material extruder works only with one hotend in which different materials

are fed via a coupler.

So when it changes from one to another color material it will pull one out filament and

insert the new one.

This is where I hijack the gcode.

So I delete the removal and insertion block which also includes a kind of cleaning procedure

where the material is retracted and extruded several times.

I park the extruder 10 mm next to the prime tower and retract the filament a little bit

because otherwise the oozing material and the heat in the nozzle screw up the procedure.

I turn off the extruder motor because otherwise it got quite hot on my machine.

If I want to increase the temperature I turn off the part cooling fan and if I want to

decrease the temperature I let it tuned on.

This way the temperature change is accelerated.

Also don't use a silicon sock for this method because it isolates the hotend too much.

I use the M109 command to change the temperature which will pause the print until the temperature

is reached.

When this is done, the part cooling fan is tuned on the normal priming procedure continues

and the print is resumed.

If you want to learn more about the G Code commands you can find a great documentation

in the marlin wiki, link below.

So these GCode changes are performed automatically with my EXCEL converter.

If you don't have EXCEL download the free Notepad++.

Look for the first material change section, mark the block and use the replace function

to replace them with noting.

Then select the M104 blocks and replace them with the string for lowering the temperature

or increasing it.

Make sure that the search mode is set to extended that the \n parts are replaced with a new

line.

Save everything and you should be good to go!

So I hope I was able to show you a cool method with which you can make pretty nice prints

without having to own an expensive multi material printer.

Digging into the G Code might be overwhelming for some, but if you know some basic commands

it's really simple.

I also already worked on a method to create a wood texture on prints but the results have

not been that nice yet.

Robin Reiter who has also a YouTube channel already said that he could help me out with

his programming skills to create a more user-friendly conversion tool.

So stay tuned for that!

Try the method on your own.

Head over to twitter and show me your creations, I'd really like to see what a more creative

person than me can come up with.

By the way, if you print the top and bottom of Devins beautiful acorn model with two different

temperatures, you will get more or less the same effect as with staining it!

For everyone who has hung on until now I have a great opportunity to participate.

Due to your generous PayPal donations I want to take a proper look on one or more Carbon

fiber reinforced filaments soon.

I did some research but I would like to know with which material you had the best experience

with so far.

I would have liked to test Matterhackers NylonX Carbon Fiber filament, but it's kind of

hard to get a hold of here in Germany.

If you have a suggestion please let me know!

If you liked this video, please give it a thumbs up.

If you want to support the channel then make a donation over PayPal or use my Amazon affiliate

links below and help me cover the running costs!

Thanks for watching, auf Wiedersehen and I'll see you next time!
