Tech Piece - ProMariner ProSport 6 Amp Marine Battery Charger - Duration: 4:32.

Hi I'm John Eichelsheim from Boating New Zealand Magazine.

We're at Haines Hunter

where we've got the Boating New Zealand

Haines Hunter 660 photo boat.

We've got in the workshop today and we've decided that

we were going to fit a a Pro Mariner

battery charger. Now I'm with Liam and

Tim from Pro Mariner and BEP and I'd

like to ask the guys why you would go to

the trouble of fitting a battery charger - a permanently fitted battery charger

to a trailer boat like this. Tim, what are some

of the reasons for putting a battery

charger like this in a boat of the size?

The main reason is to make sure that

you've maintained your optimum batteries

to a hundred percent. So on your next

trip out you know one hundred percent

that you're good to go.

The batteries are quite an expensive thing to replace.

You want to get maximum lifespan out of them.

By keeping a maintenance voltage charged on

them, you'll guarantee that you'll get

as much as you can out of the batteries.

[JOHN] So how does keeping a battery topped up

or maintained extend its life?

OK, you should never really keep a lead acid

battery in a discharged state. The Lead

plates inside will sulfate and you will

lose capacity. The next time you use

the boat you'll suddenly find that you

can't run things for as long as you

used to. Maybe you couldn't start your

engines. So it's it's very important that

once you get back ... and you can't just

walk away from the boat - you should

theoretically make sure that your batteries

are at 100% so you know

for the next time you go out you've got

good healthy batteries.

So Liam - I guess one of the things that we see more

and more of these days- is that boats have a

lot more kit on them, a lot more

electronics and so on ... I guess that

impacts on how much power

they need or how much they draw from

their batteries?

Yeah absolutely. I mean obviously with the amount of

electronics and stuff we're putting on boats

these days screens are getting bigger.

We're putting multimedia set ups and

stuff on the vessels. We've got a lot

more draw, and a lot more demand on ... often an

infrastructure which isn't really

thought about or improved. We're relying on

the alternator from the outboard to be

able to supply the recharging capacity

that we need to keep that battery fully

charged. Often times that alternator may

not be able to keep up, so having

something like a battery charger that is

able to ensure that that battery is

topped up that it is in a reconditioned

condition, and that it's maintained over

a long period of time allows you to not

think about it and to really trust that

the system is going to be there and it's

going to be in a good working order when

you need it and then it's not going to

catch you out. [JOHN] Fantastic, so with this

particular unit we saw that it's pretty

easy to install it doesn't take very

long, so if you were to use this now you

bring your boat back at the end of the

day what's the story ...? What do you do?

[LIAM] Once the systems all set up and

hooked up properly to what's on board

it's purely a process of coming back

putting the boat away as you're cleaning

it down just like you normally would

with a general shut down, and then plug

it into your AC mains in your garage or

your carport. And then it's a process of

'forget it', and the battery charger will

maintain that system, it will keep it

healthy, and it'll be there when you

need it next time.

[JOHN] Finally, are there any sort of other

things that are specific to this unit

that make it special? It's a pretty

rugged sort of unit - it certainly looks rugged!

Yeah absolutely, so it's

designed for the Marine

environment, it's significantly lighter

than a lot of other ones you'll find in

the marketplace as well. The real

kind of key thing is that it's waterproof,

and it's been salt water tested.

[JOHN] Something that I notice straightaway it

doesn't have any fans. A lot of battery

charges will have interior exterior fans

to allow heat flow transfer. Where this one

here handles all of that within the

case design itself. It's not designed to

sit on your workbench at home,

it's actually designed to be in the vessel

and to withstand the kind of environment

that you're going to be putting it

through out there on the water.

That's brilliant well thank you guys. So here we

are we've got it installed, we're

confident that every time we take this

boat out from here on in the battery's

going to be in perfect condition.

27 HOURS [ARC] *SPOILER FREE* | xreadingsolacex [CC] - Duration: 9:25.

Hello, you gorgeous individuals, it's Kav here and today I'm going to be talking

about 27 HOURS by Tristina Wright. I don't have a physical copy of the book

to show you because I actually received an e-arc a few months ago and I was

really fortunate enough to receive this because it was such a great book and I'm

so glad and lucky that I was able to read it early and discover it and know

101% that I wanted to pre-order it for October and have the hardcover in my

hands when it comes out. For those of you who don't know - 27 HOURS is a story about

6 teens, kind of, on the run and it's a sci-fi novel, so these teens are

basically trying to save the day and they're much smarter than the adults are

honestly and it's extremely diverse, it's probably the most diverse cast I have

ever read about which is saying something, especially because it's in a

sci-fi novel and not a contemporary and one would presume that a contemporary

would have a more diverse cast than a sci-fi novel, but this cast is completely

diverse and the plot is incredible and the characters are incredible and it's

just so so good - I highly recommend pre-ordering it and if you stick with me

throughout this spoiler free review then you will hear all the different reasons

you should pre-order this and be on the lookout for this incredible novel. I

started out by pointing out the diversity of the cast which is a huge

requirement for me and this book did not just fulfill my expectations, but it

completely exceeded them. We have a multiracial, Indian and Portuguese,

bisexual main character, an afrolatinx bisexual trans girl, a fat pansexual

**Deaf Cuban girl, an asexual character, two gay characters, one

character who uses they/them pronouns - this story is definitely diverse if you

can't tell from all of those different diverse aspects of these characters and

I loved the intersectionality of the diversity - that's something that's so

important to me that I think I've put it out in a few of my more discussion type

videos recently, so I'm so glad this not only fulfilled that but, like I said,

exceeded that and the plot, characters, and writing continued to exceed all of

my expectations. I'm not a huge fan of sci-fi, but the plot of this novel was so

interesting, it didn't really feel like I was reading such heavy sci-fi - it was a

little bit harder for me to read than, say, a contemporary, but it wasn't so hard

that I had to put it down - I ended up giving this book 5 out of 5 stars,

so the fact that I loved it not just despite it being sci-fi, but because of

it being sci-fi is definitely saying something about how well the author

built the world and wrote in this world and wrote this plot because she really

constructed an interesting plot that made you keep wanting to read and

wanting to discover answers. It did take a little bit of reading for me to get to

that point where I really wanted to keep going and discover answers plot-wise, but

I definitely think that it wasn't like I was 200 pages in the novel before that

happened, it was probably about 50 pages in the novel where I started getting

really excited and interested in the plot. Writing-wise, this book was

absolutely fantastic. The author of this book is actually a debut author, so I

didn't have super high expectations for the writing, I did think it would be

really good, but it definitely exceeded my expectations. I'm pretty easy with

dialogue and the dialogue in this novel was intriguing and you wanted to keep

seeing more of it and I loved it, but what really got me was the descriptions -

it's harder for me to find descriptions that I really like, it's easier to

impress me with a dialogue than with descriptions, but she managed to really

impress me with the descriptions in this novel. I felt like I could really see

the world she was painting and see the characters she was describing, I could

really see the picture she was trying to paint and that's something that I have a

lot of difficulty doing and I find it very hard to find descriptions that

really entice me, but she managed to do that extremely well in this novel. But

all of that is nothing compared to the characters in this novel - if something is

going to make you read this novel, it's 100% the characters.

These characters are so well-developed that you will want to adopt them all as

your children - I've adopted three myself and I'm dating one currently - so you can

tell that these characters are ones that you will really get emotionally attached

to. Their personalities are so well-written and are so well-developed

throughout the novel - seeing the characters' growth or seeing how the

characters have changed - I just loved seeing that, I loved seeing their journeys

throughout the novel. This book is told and multiple points of view which can be

a really hard thing to do because it can actually come off really fanfiction-y,

but that's not the vibe I got at all. It wasn't told in first-person, it was told

in third-person which I think helped stay away from that vibe, but also just

reading about the characters was done in a way so well that it really made it

seem like a professional novel which it is, but it really strayed away from that

fanfiction vibe which is something I tend to feel a lot of times with

multiple point-of-view novels. And speaking of characters, the relationships

in this novel were so good. There were 2 romances that I was just so

interested in and one of them was a male by male romance and the other was a

female by female moments so, again, talk about diversity, but those romances

were done so well, done in such a cute way that I really shipped these couples

together and I was texting my friend as I read the novel, so I was texting them

and I was like "why aren't they just getting together they're obviously so in

love" because you truly ship these characters and the friendships were also

just so incredible. There were 2 friendships that I absolutely adored

100% and one of them started within this novel, it wasn't a previous

friendship that had already existed when the novel began, but it was one that

developed throughout the novel and it was by far my favorite relationship of

the entire novel because I just loved the interaction between these two

characters - they were both so sassy and they just got along so well and they're

probably my two favorite characters of the novel and the other friendship was

one that already existed before the novel started, but it was done so well

and it was written so well throughout the novel

I loved it even throughout the novel - just everything about this novel was so

good and I don't see why anyone would miss out on this incredible book. It's

diverse, it's well-written, it's interesting - it's just everything you could possibly

want from a novel - it has romance, action, humor - everything you could want in a

novel, like I said. And I talk a lot about contemporary and sometimes fantasy on my

channel, I don't often talk about sci-fi which is why I'm really glad that I had

an ARC of this novel to discuss with you all because I really think that this is

such a great story and it would be really good for people who have non-

contemporary tastes because that's my main focus, this is something for people

who are outside of that area. I hope all of this got you as interested in the

novel as I am because it is such a great novel and you won't regret buying it at

all - I promise you that this is a novel you don't want to miss out on, it's going

to be a best-seller, this series is going to be incredible, and I highly recommend

pre-ordering it or getting it the first week it's released because it deserves

to succeed. It's one of the most diverse casts I've ever seen as I stated and I

just want it to succeed and I hope that you all will help contribute to that if

you have the means to do so - request it at your library or pre-order it or just

add it on Goodreads and just help make sure it succeeds because it really,

really does deserve to. I hope you all enjoyed this video - I know I basically

just gushed about a book for five minutes straight, but I hope that it was

enjoyable and I hope that it got you excited for this novel the same way I am.

If you enjoyed this video, please give it a like and subscribe because that stuff

makes me happy and comment below tell me - did this get you excited for the novel?

did you have hands on an ARC? and what did you think, if you have read it, so far?

are you going to pre-order it? - just talk to me about this book or tell me a book

that has made you as happy as this one has made me and we can give each other

some recommendations and click that little notification bell if you've

already subscribed, so that you never missed when I post a new video. As usual,

all my social media and my Goodreads will be in the description below, so you

can add me, follow me, or whatever you want to do with that information. Thank

you all so much for watching, I hope you're having a lovely day or night

[ENG Sub] Parents and Video Game Careers | E3 2017 | - Ubisoft SEA - Duration: 3:14.

I remember the day I got home, and I told my dad to sit down

and I told him I want to switch from a career of banking to a career of video games

I had to calm him down a bit.

It took him a good few months to really come to terms with this decision

How did you tell your family you wanted to work in video games?

It's a good question

Ah man

I didn't know I had to tell my parents

So I didn't tell my parents

It's very hard for me to tell my family what it is that I actually do

They somehow in their mind think I play computer games all day

I was taking my studies in computer engineering

and I told my dad I really wanted to go to school as a animator

and he said no way, you're not doing that, you're finishing your studies

I was in my third year of law school

when I told my parents I wanted to work at Ubisoft

And they are like, whats that? Is that a law firm?

and I say, no, it's a video game company

and they were like, oh, I've never heard of it

they were really kind of shocked

'cause this is not a real, let's say, job

They didn't think it was a thing

My dad was afraid

They are cambodian's civil war refugees

Their only goal was to earn money, enough money to have better life

He told me, honestly I didn't believe in you at all

but today I'm proud of you

My mother started me making video games when I was about 8 years old

She learned how to program herself and taught me how to do it

So I was making video games ever since I was a little kid

My house burned down when I was 9 years old

and we were left nothing-no toys, nothing between the 3 brothers

and we would use catalogues, and basically bring to life a role playing game

using, you know, pen and paper, and our own imagination

From there, my mom kind of knew I was gonna explore some things from that creative side

She has always been super supportive for that endeavor

My mom was super supportive

She just gave me a thumbs up and say, go for it

My dad was supportive as well, but he think this is super childish

and I'm gonna grow out of it one day

so now I'm 37 and I'm still haven't grown out of it

and I thinks he's very happy for me since how happy I am

You know sometimes she will try to tell her friends

"Oh my daughter writes for video games"

and they'll say, oh what's that like

and she'll say, uh, I think she make the words come out of the character's mouth

so you know, bless her

She supports me, and that's all that matters

Now he's happy for me,

so I'm glad I did and didn't hide it

Don't hide it

Explain to them that being in the video game industry

isn't just about sitting all day long playing video games

If your parents support you, then it's great for you

but if your parents does not support you, you should just tell them anyway

because I think having your dream job is worth the risk

Just be honest, I think, let them know you're passionate about it

let them know why you want to go into this

Don't choose your career with your brain,

but choose something that your heart tells you to do

even though it sounds very cheesey
