LEG WORKOUT - HOW TO GET STRONGER LEGS - Duration: 9:41.

Hello everyone! I'm Mario Gabud and in this video I'm going to demonstrate my leg workout.

Before this I did my usual warm up routine:

5 minutes of aerobic exercises and 8 minutes of abs and back workout.

Now I will warm up a bit more by squatting with easier weight, 70 kg (154 lbs).

My leg workouts are simple and I do them at the end of the week.

I mostly do only 3 different exercises: squats, forward and backward lounges. In between two sets of squats,

I do some more abs workouts.

Currently, I do 4 sets until failure, about 10 reps each set.

After that, I move to the next exercise, the lounges.

I won't film the entire training, only the warm up, one set of squats and then I'll cut the video and jump to the lounges.

Ok, let's start with the warm up set. 70 kg (154 lbs).

I still haven't had the time to set up a mirror here so I'll have to manage without it.

It's a lot easier to do squats if you can look yourself in the mirror. It's a bit harder to control your form without it.

So, here we have a male Olympic barbell of 20kg (44 lbs), these bumpers 25 kg(55 lbs) each,

a 20 kg (44 lbs) plate and 5 kg (11 lbs) plate on each side.

By the way, I squat up to 200 kg (440 lbs) but not with the ass-to-grass technique.

I do parallel squats most of the time, up to 200 kg (440 lbs).

Ok, let's start with the first set: 10 reps with 120 kg (264 lbs).

And now I immediately move to an abs exercise.

This was the first set, another 3 to go.

I will cut the video and move to the next exercise.

There, I've completed 4 sets of squats with 120 kg (264 lbs).

I took my time with them, as you can see I'm a bit tired today, last night was a long one so I didn't have much rest.

Nevermind, it's not an excuse to skip leg day at Saturday or Sunday.

So, after squats we move to lounges. I'm using dumbbells, 3 pairs of them.

First pair: 22,5 kg (50 lbs) dumbbells, second pair: 20 kg (44 lbs) dumbbells and the third pair: 17,5 kg (38 lbs) dumbbells.

Let's go. 10 lounges with each pair of dumbbells.

Ok. Now, without any rest move to the next pair…

This is extremely hard. Ok, I did forward lounges in this set.

Now, after some rest, in the second set I will be doing backward lounges. Then repeat those 2 sets.

So, 4 sets in total.

This will wear out your legs no matter how strong you are and you will be sore for at least 2-3 days after this training.

I'll rest for a bit and then move to the backward lounges.

Again, pardon me for being a bit sleepy today, I'm sure I'll weak up soon.

Allow me to give you and advice at this time: NEVER SKIP LEG DAY!

A lot of guys tend to skip it and work only on their upper body. Don't do that.

Work those legs, they are the biggest muscle group in your body, gluteus maximus being the biggest muscle.

When you work on the biggest muscle group, your total strength will surely increase.

In my personal experience, after I started to work on legs regularly,

I've increased my maximum bench press for at least 10%.

So, by increasing the strength in your legs, you will increase the strength of your entire body.

Ok, now – the backward lounges. I hope I will still be able to wrestle tomorrow ;)

Again, keep your back straight when lifting the weights from the ground.

This was the second set – the backward lounges.

So, we did one set of forward lounges and one set of backward lounges

and now I'll do one more set for both of these exercises.

I won't film those sets as it's all the same as with the first 2 sets.

Today's topic: Remember to Breathe. Hi I'm Doug Holt with Author of Your Own Story

and this is your daily growth hack where each day we give you a tip trick or

insight to help you up level what we call the five to thrive that is your

mind your body your soul your relationships and your business now

today I want to talk about something that happened the other day as I was

talking to a client of mine and I could actually feel viscerally through the

videoconference they were getting tense and I stopped and asked them are you

breathing and all of a sudden you solve something clear up on them you solve

visually them actually lose about 5 to 10 pounds of weight they took a deep

breath and they've exhaled and they just relax their bodies and when I was

talking to them about was a trigger that it happened at their work see they're a

high-level business owner they run a seven-figure business and they were

being stressed out about some of their employees and situations that were going

on in their enterprise now when I was talking to him about it I could just see

them getting more and more tense but I also noticed they were holding their

breath this is extremely common it's extremely common for us to do it

throughout the day and what you'll notice is actually just

by simply breathing or exhaling in this sense you actually reduce the stress

instantly it's is easy and quick fix and besides losing 5 to 10 pounds in your

appearance isn't a bad thing for most of us so what he did is I Adam just take

them to this exercise take a second breathe are you breathing

check in with yourself and then exhale now so what reason I bring this up is I

see this throughout my day as well often times running several businesses

coaching clients raising a son a family I'm oftentimes in stressful situations

even knowing what I know I find myself hitting dents I get very tense and next

thing I know I'm like I'm stressed out and I go huh oh I was holding my breath

I was taking shallow breaths you see what happens as part of our stress

response is where we get stressed our body doesn't perceive outside stressors

so things that could kill us like a bear for example versus internal stressors so

those things our environment that we create or take

on ourselves and when we do that we hold our breath we hold our breath and that

fight-or-flight response and that actually creates more stress it actually

even creates inner abdominal pressure at times and the inner abdominal pressure

raises our blood pressure and in raising our blood pressure a lot of

physiological responses happen which releases chemicals which also affect our

mood and our minds so just by simply taking deep breaths conscious breathing

throughout the day you'll find that your days become more and more stress less

now that's not really a word but less stressful is what I'm trying to say

something you can do is set an alarm go to your cellular device whether it be an

iPhone or an Android and set alarms throughout the day

maybe it's six or seven alarms throughout your workday or if you're

staying at home maybe it's six or seven alarms spread out throughout the day

whatever it is for you have something relaxing you know someone told me today

you know listen to three little birds by Bob Marley that'll chill you out every

time so maybe that's a song you put on for your alarm it's completely up to you

but the idea is when you hear that alarm I want you to check in to yourself check

with inside yourself and ask yourself am i breathing fully am i taking full

diaphragm ik breaths am i relaxing and then if you're not do it if you are

celebrated either way don't beat yourself up but take that time to

actually breathe and I'm going to ask you to as authors of your own story take

it a step further this is your own story so I want you to check in with yourself

when you feeling tense when you're feeling stressful you're feeling anxiety

why don't you just take a second go am i breathing then take four to five deep

breaths in through the nose relaxed out through the mouth I want you to notice

if your stress levels diminish if your anxiety diminishes then we want you to

journal about it take out your journal write out what

happened what's going on with your body your mind your spirit your business

what's going on in these situations with your relationships I love you to see the

power of just breathing this is a very simple tip but like most simple tips

it's also very easy not to do it's easy to forget pretty listen

to practice is just like anything else you have to do it more and more often

like learning a language if you stop putting into practice you simply forget

There are so many benefits of using Monolingual Learner's Dictionaries

and one of the big ones is learning Grammar

You need to NOTICE how grammar is used in Monolingual Learner's Dictionaries definition

and example sentences.

Just from the definition alone you can learn so much.

Most definitions are in the Present Simple

Most definitions are in the Present Simple Tense because a definition is a Fact

We use the Present Simple to talk about Facts and things that are USUALLY true

The Earth revolves around the sun.

Dogs hate cats.

Generally speaking, Japanese cars are better than American cars.

Practice makes perfect.

I believe all languages have the present simple tense

We also use it to talk about Routine, Habits about things we USUALLY do

What do you usually do on weekday mornings?

I usually wake up at 6 am,

go jogging,

take a shower,

have breakfast

and head to work.

Routine and Habit

Since Routine and Habit is something we do repeatedly, a common question you might ask is

HOW OFTEN

How often do you go jogging?

How often do you go to McDonald's?

Routine and Habit is what I call the Function of the grammar

Function means Purpose

That's it. Let's recap

The Function of the Present Simple Tense is to talk about Routines, Habits or Facts

The main Cue is the word Usually

Dictionary sentences with Usually are usually in the Present Simple tense

Other cues are Rarely, Sometimes, Often and the question How often

How often do you shave your legs?

2017 Goals, Update - Duration: 3:37.

But let's talk.

Right, so for this vlog I thought it'd be an interesting idea to check in on personal

goals, specifically 'new year resolutions'.

Not that I necessarily had specific new year's resolutions and I've written them down and

I've been thinking about it but just, I had goals, we all do.

Let's check in on that.

First of all, I wanted to restart my Youtube channel with a new weekly vlog.

I wanted to get fit and healthy and other stuff and I also wanted to read five books,

at least.

I wanted to have a new project and also, at the same time, clean up my online mess.

Restarting the Youtube channel, I mean, obviously I'm on it.

So yeah, new weekly vlog, I think that deserves a "check".

Getting fit, I tried jogging for like two times and it is just incredibly boring thing

to me.

Eating healthy, I do eat a piece of fruit every day at noon, so at least it's something.

And other stuff, yeah I'm not doing anything.

I'm not.

Reading five books is a hard one.

Because I really have difficulty to get dragged into a story that is written.

Obviously I'm a visual person, but that doesn't mean that I can not enjoy a good book.

I mean, my favorite book '1984' by George Orwell, I've read that eight times at least,

I think it's nine by now.

But hey, if you have recommendations for a good book, let me know in the comments down

below.

Have a new project, done that, check, RE:WIND is here.

It's been going well for like four months already.

Clean up my online mess, I've installed several tools that delete tweets that are older than

a year.

I've also privated most of my videos on Youtube, I've also delete quiet a lot of Instagram

pictures that didn't need to be there.

And I've deleted my Wordpress website and built my own DebodeQ.com.

Just HTML5 and CSS3, all by this guy.

To clarify, it's not yet what I want it to be, it's a beta version.

But now, at least it's mine, and I prefer that.

So yeah, I don't think we're doing that bad.

It's alright.

Kinda.

I'm hungry.

I'll be honest.

The only reason I did this, is because I didn't want the vlog to end on a serious note again.

So there we go.

As hobbies (I practice): longboard, backpacking, hiking, running, surfing...

I enjoy lots of different outdoor sports

(Q. How did you start to practice outdoor sports?) I started doing music when I was a kid...

I started surfing and long boarding after discovering them in university

while recovering from an injury I started hiking and running

and because I wanted to be more in contact with nature I also took up backpacking.

(Q.What has changed while enjoying your own lifestyle?) I used to not know what kind of person I was, what did I like or what kind of personality did I have.

but while practicing my hobbies

I had time to think about what type of person I was by myself

and I started to enjoy my free time.

(Q.What is like to always be able to enjoy the outdoors?) Every moment is exciting

Especially when I am making preparations that moment is really exhilarating

What will nature show me today?

Who will I be riding with?

What kind of conversations will we share?

(All those unknowns)seem to always make me excited and expectant (of the experience)

(Q. Kim EomJi's method to enjoy life?) I wonder if I'm not a born challenger...

It's just doing what you want to do and leaving when you are not interested.

Of course, I worry a lot

a lot of different situations can arise

but I plan on trying out everything I can whenever I can

I think that's better than regretting not having tried it out.

I plan on focusing on enjoying where my heart leads me

I think that's why I can enjoy all the things I do.

(Q.A word to those who hesitate to challenge themselves?)

I think that even the time that you take to worry about it is a waste.

Even if it isn't exactly an activity, when you think 'Oh, that looks like fun!', 'I won't to try it once'...

Just try it out! I you don't try you will never know.

Even if it isn't exactly a hobby, if you have something you want to do

Just try it out! It's easier than it looks.

I you don't do something there won't be any change

Challenge yourself!! Enjoy yourself!!
