It's a very common expression in English and it's very casual and you can say it to a friend
or someone that you haven't arranged to meet up with yet, but you know you'll see them in the area
or at some point in the relatively near future.
But it's very casual - it leaves things open-ended.
So it's a very useful expression to use actually.
