My name is Jackson Bird and welcome to another episode of Will It Waffle?
Since it is summertime and the weather is fine
– and by "fine," I of course mean, "friggin' hot and sweaty and gross and SO HUMID" –
I decided to waffle the one food that I cannot get enough of this summer: watermelon!
(coughs) Also, I'm sick.
(sarcastically) I love being sick over the summer.
It is my favorite thing.
Yep.
Let's go throw this on the waffle iron!

Alright, so I gotta admit I did actually prepare
for this a little bit more than I usually do for Will It Waffle?
I chopped the watermelon.
Y'know, I know usually don't think these things through, but I just had a little bit of, of
a hunch that putting an entire watermelon on the waffle iron... well just that the waffle
iron wouldn't close, really.
I'm sure it would've waffled fine, by my standards.
(sniffs) There's still some crayon on here from uh September?
I guess was the last time I waffled on this iron.
Oh my gosh.
So... gonna be eating some crayon wax with the watermelon.
Oh, how, oh yeah let's just make a circle here.
Oh... maybe.
Ahh.
Will Watermelon Waffle?
Oh [bleeped].
Alright.
Let's just.
Ah!
That works!
Okay. (singing) Watermelon waffles, watermelon waffles!
This does not in any way smell like watermelon.
This just smells like salty.
Not like sweet or fruity or anything.
I think this is going to be gross just on account of how dirty my waffle iron is.
Which, for the record, is dirty because it's just like set-in disgusting-ness.
Not because I didn't clean it before this.
I spend half my life cleaning this waffle iron.
Oh, I'm telling ya, it just really does not smell appetizing.
It's been sizzling a ton.
It's all that water and moisture in the watermelon.
I mean, you can't push it too much because the rind of the watermelon is right there.
Resisting.
As it should be.
We should all be resisting right now.
I don't know, like I don't know how much more it can do.
Should we check?
Let's go ahead and check.
Will watermelon waffle?
Ohhh!
Okay, that's cool!
That is definitely a cool site to behold.
Now, alright, it didn't come down as much on this one 'cause this, this slice was taller.
I didn't slice these very evenly.
But!
I bet there's something cool on the back of this.
Oh!
That's hot.
Alright.
I mean, a little bit.
That's cool.
But this one especially is very cool.
Ah yeah!
That is badass.
As cool as this looks and I am, I am loving this look.
I don't think this is going to taste good because of how it smells.
I mean, it smells like a fried item.
Alright, I'm gonna try it.
Eugh god, I don't want to!
I cannot explain to you how bad this smells, especially for it being a watermelon.
Like knowing it's a watermelon is what makes it so gross.
It's also just like... ohhhh I shouldn't have touched it!
Oh it feels weird.
Oh that is like a slimy, like it is way too smooth.
It's way smoother than a watermelon should be.
Oh this is so wrong! (crying) I don't want to...
It looks cool, but it's so disgusting.
Eughhh.
Alright, here we go.
Eugh.
It's not that bad.
It's not... (spits out) No, okay, I give –– hmm.
It's the cooking spray!
That's what made this taste so bad!
Alright, so.
You should not use cooking spray.
It's got enough moisture in there.
I don't think you need it.
And then it will probably taste good.
I also don't recommend putting crayons on your waffle iron before that.
Let me try to just eat the inside, yeah just eating the inside is alright.
It's just like hot watermelon.
Yeugh.
Alright.
But for today, watermelon does not waffle.
(sad trombone noise) Yeah, I'm uh, I'm gonna say stick to eating
your watermelon raw.
