Hello everyone so today we are gonna talk about the grover.
He is a support class champion and you should not really pick him as a solo healer unless
your team is super coordinated and the reason for that is he is a burst healer.
It means he will give you and your team mates who are in the area of effect 1000 hp in one
second when he uses his healing ability by pressing Q.
Now, most of the time your teammates will be far apart from each other meaning you won't
be able to heal them all at the same time and the cool down of blossom is 12 seconds
which can be reduced by 2 by using a card, even after that it takes a long time to get
it back if you compare it to maldamba or seris who can provide consistent healing after 2
to 3 seconds so, if one of your team mate is low and he was out of your healing range
when you used your blossoms, HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO HIM huh?
DON'T YOU HAVE SOUL… anyway he is gonna die real soon.
Now you all must be thinking, Wow, he doesn't sound that good then why should I even play
him.
Well he can be very deadly in the right hands but before we discuss that lets jump into
the load out that we are gonna be using to take the full advantage of his kit.
Now there two ways you can play him that are as a healer or as a support with a little
bit of healing.
Let's talk about the best way to play him, which is by using the legendry card called
deeproots . It will basically turn your crippling axe into kind of a stun for 2 second but the
enemy will be able to use all his abilities while he is rooted like evie can use her ice
block or andro can use his reversal, but still you are pressuring them out of the fight by
rooting them which is really helpful for your team.
But the one thing he won't be able to do is move or use his movement abilities like
andro won't be able to dash makoa cant use his spin but evie can still blink out of it
WHICH IS WHY WE ALL HATE HER RIGHT, SHE IS SUCH A BITC , Ahem, anyway this is why this
card is so good because if your target can't move he will be dead in 2 seconds with the
help of your team, you are a support remember cant kill someone it's a sin for you to
get a solo kill, you know how much it triggers people when a support gets more solo kills
than ur damage carries.
And with the buff to his projectile speed in ob53 he is even more powerful now.
Anyway lets look at the loadout that we are running here.
So, as you can see we have adrenaline at level 4 and I will explain the reason behind it
later in the video, next we have chop down at level 3 and verdant expanse at level 3.
Last two cards are just to fill up the space which means you can use anything in place
of these two but I do like the extra vine distance for some clutch heals, it can really
save your team sometimes.
Now for the healing build we are going with the legendary card rampant blooming which
Is a good card and it heals for 160 hp per second for 4 seconds on top of that 1000 hp
you are already giving to your teammates but I personally think that the deeproots is a
much better option for grover, simple reason is he doesn't really excels in consistent
healing but he do have passive healing which is 80 hp per second if your teammates are
standing in the area of effect which we will increase by 30% ehh but still 80 is nothing
compare to the dmg that you are gonna get from a bomb king or a drogoz.
Anyway for the healing loadout we are keeping adrenaline at level 4 and verdant expanse
at level 3 but we are chaning the chop down with perennial at level 3 just to reduce our
cooldown on our blossom.
And the reason behind why are using adrenaline at level 4 is because grover can get a lot
of eliminations due to the fact he have unlimited ammo on his axe.
So, you can just sit in a corner and keep launching your axes all day long, hitting
everyone and when they die you will get a 40% cooldown reduction on all of your abilities
which means more heals, more deep roots and more vines.
That's why I like deep roots more than the rampant blooming because it increased your
chance of getting more kills when you root someone which means more heals for your team
anyway.
And by sitting in a corner I did not mean that you just camp in your spawn, spamming
your axes till you die.
Just stay with your backlines heal them and if you see your tank is backing up to get
his health back vine on to him and heal him too from time to time.
And if you are a solo healer for some reason then tell your team to play a bit carefully
and don't rush into the bad positions as you won't be able to heal them there.
Now lets talk about how and when to use your vine.
It's a really good ability if used properly and its very simple to use, simply point at
something like a wall or a tree.
Make sure its in your range and press F, it will pull you towards that direction.
Now this is really good for getting out of tough situations or getting in to heal someone
who is taking cover to regen his health.
Make sure you are always in cover when you use your blossom as if you are cauterized
then your heals will mean nothing.
For example they have a cauterize 3 on your and its gonna stay on you and your team for
1.5 sec, then suddenly your decided ohh I am low and I need heals.
Well I will just press Q and get my 1000 hp back but the bad news is that you will get
only 100 back because caut 3 will reduce the healing by 90%.
And this is why the burst healers are not that good in this game as the timing of your
heals will have to be prefect in order take the full advantage of it.
On top of that the cooldown of blossoms is 12 seconds and if you healed for only 100
by panic pressing the Q then your whole team will die because 12 seconds is a long-long
time in this game.
But it can be reduced by 40% if you get a kill that's why we are running that card
in this load-out so if you get lucky then you get a second chance to save your team,
make sure you use it properly this time.
So keep on spamming your axes and don't be sad if you miss, its just sometimes you
land every axe you throw like this
and sometimes you have a potato aim like this.
Lasty we will talk about his ultimate whirlwind which will heal you and your team mates for
2500 hp every second for 5 seconds and now during the ultimate he is cc immune too.
This ultimate is really powerful in early rounds when the level of cauterize is not
that high.
So, it's a reactive ultimate meaning when the other team tries to use their ultimate,
you use yours.
Its so powerful that it can make any damage based ultimate completely useless for example
viktor's barrage, andro's accursed arm or even the hexa fire, just pop whirlwind
and walk up to everyone that is taking damage.
But it will suffer a lot in late games when there is a level 3 cauterize on you but you
can still help your teammates if they wanna retreat to a safe spot when the other team
is using their ultimates . That's why most Grover players take moral boast because this
ultimate can change the tide of any battle.
But I personally go for chonos because if you are healing your team mates more then
you will get it fast anyway.
Still if you like you can go for moral boast too, its completely fin, its your wish anyway.
Now lets talk about the situations when you can pick him, in casuals its not gonna matter
that much as team work is a very rare thing in a public match but if you playing a scrim
or competitive you can pick him when the other team have a lot of high mobility champions.
You can lock them down for your team with your crippling axe or you can also counter
pick him against a kinessa or a shalin because it deals bonus damage the further it travels
and the damage on the axe can go upto 750 I think after ob53.
I am sure but its around this number which is a lot of damage.
You can just peak and pre-fire all you want as there is no ammo limit and when a kinessa
or a shalin try to peak you, they are gonna get hit by your axe 80% of the time because
your axe will be flying at them even before they peak, and if you get hit by them just
take cover and use your Q to heal yourself up which they cannot do without help, that's
why he is a counter pick for them.
But do not forget to take cover for a sec before you press your Q, we have already discussed
this why it is so important to take cover.
This makes him a very strong champion and a bit weird see, you have to be close your
tanks and teammates in order to heal them but you have to be far in order to deal more
damage which why running him as a solo healer can be really bad for your team, specially
if you are in a public match where no one listens to anyone.
But after the changes to him in ob53 he is a lot more consistent with his damage so you
might wanna try him out.
Anyway if you have to be a solo healer try to stay in between your backlines and tank.
So, that you can heal them both if they are in range.
Also don't shoot at the enemy tank who is fighting for the point in that situation.
Aim for their backline as you will deal more damage to them because of his damage scaling
with distance.
Now I wanna talk about something that is not related to this champion but overall how people
play these kinds of support champions who have a lot of damage like grohk, pip or grover.
If you wanna play them as a damage then let your team know before the match starts so
they can pick a dedicated healer, don't be like oohh I am playing a dmg grokh or ohh
I am a flanking pip after they beg you to heal them in the middle of a game.
If you want to play them as damage its completely fine but atleast let them know that they won't
be getting much heals from you.
In the end it will help you and your team win a game if you just tell them what role
you are going for, unless you like losing then I don't know do whatever you want.
So, this is it for grover and if you would like to add something, feel free comment down
below and sorry for the delay in the video.
I really want to make more videos but the problem is I am new to this game so I have
to actually play the champion and learn it myself how it works.
I usually play them until I hit the rank of 10 or 12 depends on the learning curve of
a champion.
I don't wanna make videos just for the sake of views and how many subs will i get.
I wanna help newer players like me enjoy the game in the best way possible.
And to give them tips that will actually help them in game, not like ooo this ability is
so cool and ooo this is so op or just me going on kill streaks.
I prefer quality over quantity so on this note I will take my leave and see you all
in the next one.
I will try my best to make it as soon as possible until then umm.. don't pick a flanking maldamba
please for the love of god.
Should I go now here is another tip if you wanna be good at the game don't watch my
videos.
