Hey YouTube, good morning
today is the first day of VidCon
right now we're at the hotel, as you can see
okay, let me show you around the room
as soon as you walk in
there's a living area
a sofa, a TV, a desk
and then when you pass by here
the bathroom's on the right and then you enter into the bedroom
wardrobes and another TV in the bedroom
and then from here
you can see a view of the hotel from the inside
if we open this curtain
you can see the entire hotel and the people in the lobby
we're going to head to the convention centre
in about 5 minutes
we're going to get in the car that will take us there
today, I have two things... I have to sit with other YouTubers
people will ask us questions we'll answer, and we'll discuss the topic
the first topic is 'online influencers, influencing the world'
which means how the people that upload videos affect the world
at 2pm I have something called: race and representation discussion
because I'm Saudi
and I'm not British or American
they always put me on this panel so I can discuss
how YouTube is different for people who aren't British or White
tomorrow, I basically don't have anything to do
today is Thursday by the way, I don't know if I said
tomorrow on Friday, I don't really have much to do
which is good because last VidCon in Amsterdam I had to do a million things
and then on Saturday I have one more thing to do
and then on Sunday we're going back to London
yesterday my flight was in the afternoon, then I took an hour-long taxi ride to get to this hotel
it's located in Anaheim
the flight was 10 and a half hours, so it was a bit tiring
but to be honest it didn't bother me too much, I slept for half of it
and then I watched 3 different movies
there was one movie I watched that really moved me
to the point where I cried for like 15 minutes at the end
it wasn't a fictional film, it was a documentary on a man called Warren Buffet
he's the richest man in the world
he's going to donate 99% of his wealth to charity
he made this decision after his wife died
it had a big affect on me, I thought it was so beautiful
another thing I loved is the fact that he's got 3 kids
and when they got older, each one of them started their own charity
and that's because they were very influenced by their mother who always wanted to help others
that means the richest man in the world doesn't have spoiled children
okay, this is the car that's going to take us
it even says YouTube on it
it's huge
okay we're entering the convention centre now
they bring us in from the back
because there are a lot of popular YouTubers
we've gotten on a golf cart to the green room
it's a short walk but I wanted to take the golf cart
to get up to the green room, where the YouTubers are
we have to get in this elevator
okay, we're at the main expo hall
there are a lot of loud noises so I don't know if you can hear me
but let's look around and see what they've got
this room is made from glass
and there's people signing the glass from the inside
we've come outside to see what they have here
there are rides
they've got food
and it's really really hot
we're headed to our panel right now
we're with Sam right now, on another golf cart that's going to take us where we're supposed to be
we've come outside
if you look over there, exactly
you'll see Disney Land
okay we've arrived back stage
with Sam, and now we're going to go up onto the stage
to speak on the panel
now we're in Twitter's room
they're giving out these things
right now this guy is drawing me

and we're going to see how it comes out

okay, I'm back at the hotel
with Sarah
we're now going to the Calvin Klein room
and they're going to give us some stuff
so we wanna go get some free clothes
this is the room
they put her on this huge curtain screen
okay, I'm back in my room
tomorrow, I don't have anything super important to do
so I'm going to look around the hotel
the hotel is all just YouTubers
so we were just in the Calvin Klein room, they gave me a jacket
because the hotel is just YouTubers, theres all these rooms downstairs
in these rooms there are companies and brands that give things out to YouTubers
there's a lot of rooms I haven't been to because the time is getting late
anyway, now I'm going to get changed and go down to meet with Sarah and Lucy
VidCon gave us this bag
firstly, the schedule, it says Jana vlogs
what else? a hoody
it says 'VidCon 2017' on it
it's awesome
wireless headphones, so you don't need any cables
to listen with them, nice
oh what's this? a steaming stick
wow, this thing plugs into the TV so we can watch all this stuff
for example, I have a Netflix and Amazon account
so I can watch that stuff on my TV if plug this in at the back
also awesome, thanks VidCon
what else... oh what's this?
Echo dot... oh, so this thing
you can speak to it and it will listen to you
so I can tell it to play a certain song, or wake me up at 6 o'clock
then it'll set me an alarm for 6

and that's it, that's everything that was in the bag
This room is all about Despicable Me, the animated film

okay, this is the Facebook room in the hotel
okay now we're going back to the convention centre
they're going to close the main expo hall
so that the YouTubers can go inside and take a look around
we're with Hannah and Lucy
they've got games everywhere
so we're just playing
I don't know why there are Ninja Turtles

a lot of you have seen him in the vlogs before, he's actually from California
and he lives here

we're going out to eat, they're taking me to a place called in and out burger
it's supposed to be the best thing out here, they're very well known for it
so we're going to go try it
I'm done with all the stuff I have to do at the event itself
so now I'm just going to go enjoy myself, explore California
to film stuff for you that's more fun than the convention itself
okay we've arrived at the restaurant, here it is
Marcus is telling them it's my first time trying this place
they've made me wear their hat
we've ordered the food, and now we're gunna try it
they only have 3 options on the menu

okay we ate our burgers, now we're going to get milkshakes
from a restaurant called chik-fil-a
the milkshake is really really amazing
okay, we've arrived at Walmart
I don't know what I'm doing here, I just wanted to look around their supermarket
everything in the US is massive, all of their food is much bigger than our food
this is minced meat, look how huge it is... it's bigger than my head
this is sauce they have here
it's bigger than Marcus's head
this is even bigger
they put cereal in bags because the boxes aren't big enough
so they have to put them in these bags
these are all bags of cereal
so if you wake up in the morning and want to have a bowl of cereal
you put your bowl here
this is the normal sized box of pop tarts
and this is the massive box
these are their chocolates in the US
this is their juice, it looks like cooking oil
my hand is shaking from how heavy it is
it's bigger than our heads
okay now we're going to look at their milk, it's the biggest thing they have
a week's worth of milk
this is the crisps isle
so I was telling them that in Britain
if you got this bag, it's for a group of you
and then they were like... no, this is for a group
look at the difference
why do you need a bag this big? I have no idea
okay we've arrived in an area called Long Beach
my jeans have ripped so we have to go to a clothes store
so I can get some new trousers
okay, we went into Forever 21
and I bought a new outfit because my jeans were ripped
now we're going to explore Long Beach
Marcus is taking pictures with his new camera
he's really happy with it
we can walk across this bridge
to get to the other side
this bride is getting photographed with her husband, and they brought their dog too

it looks so classic
right now we're walking along, the ocean is right next to us
and the weather is incredible
it's not hot and it's not cold, there's a bit of a breeze
it's the first day I've felt like I'm really in California
the other days I was here I was just going back and forth from the convention to the hotel
today, I've really enjoyed my time

this is called a light house in English, not sure what it's called in Arabic
but when there's water, they put this light here so if a ship comes in
it can tell that there's land here, where the water ends
