- [Announcer] From Choctaw Resort in Durant, Oklahoma,
this is Poker Night in America.
(upbeat jazz music)
- Hello, and welcome to Poker Night in America.
I'm Chris Hanson alongside Joe Stapleton.
- This place is the best.
It's got beer, games, prizes,
and you can never tell what time it is.
- Stapes, this is Choctaw Hotel and Resort,
not Blips and Chitz.
- Oh yeah, then what's that Roy machine doing over there?
- Flop, three way.
- You should take. - Let's check, check, check.
- You should do a segment, on the show,
like a four minute,
just nothing but Gavin one-liners.
- [Chris] Well, here we go with a bunch of fresh faces
sitting down at Choctaw for day number two.
- [Joe] Yeah, what a line-up.
So many good poker players and Gavin Smith.
- I think they also did it for Hellmuth too, I think.
Like outbursts, like--
- Yeah Hellmuth has
more than this - Comparing Gavin to Hellmuth.
- [Matt] Don't worry ETay I'll get her.
- [Esther] Thanks, I forgot my wallet today.
- [Matt] Oh my God, did you really?
- [Joe] Where in the world is Esther Taylor?
I don't think anyone can pull that hat off.
- [Alec] I'll get the next one?
- [Joe] Not even international
crime syndicate Carmen Sandiego people.
- [Gavin] Felicia, I'll tip for them
- Do you pay for the drinks and the tips, or just the tips?
- I think the hot water is free.
- [Matt] I think the drinks are free.
The drinks are free, right? - I don't know.
I ordered a drink playing blackjack last night
and they charged me $12.
- Hand of the day possibilities.
- This is definitely in contention.
- [Joe] Alec Torelli dominated
queen eight versus ace queen.
- [Matt] I'm not showing one card.
- [Chris] Flop is eight, deuce, king.
- I hope they show both cards.
- [Alec] 600.
- [Joe] And Glantz three bet this pre-flop,
perfectly fine out of position.
- [Chris] 600 was the bet and the call.
We head off to the turn.
Seven of spades,
so Torelli not only now with a pair of eights,
but also a flush draw.
- [Joe] Glantz is not slowing down.
- 17.
- There's definite hand of the day possibilities.
- Can we zoom in on these two guys,
so that we have footage for the end of the day?
- [Joe] Is there a hand of the day?
- [Chris] Did we just invent a new feature?
- [Joe] Torelli getting sticky with his pair of eights.
Somehow he just knows,
and Matt's pretty much got no choice now
but to triple-barrel this.
- 43.
- [Chris] Alec Torelli, go away.
- Just don't go all in.
- I don't think you're allowed to coach.
- I agree.
- Just because he runs this stupid show now,
can we tell him?
- I think his hand is dead, Gavin.
- I think it's dead too.
- Show one. - Hand of the day.
- Show one. - Oh, no.
- [Gavin] Show him one, show him one.
- Show them both, show them both, you want to so bad.
- [Gavin] Zinger.
- You wanna show them so bad.
- Hand of the day.
- Nice hand. - That is hand of the day.
- [Alec] I always did it when I was
going to be in the small blind the next day.
You just did it in mid position.
- [David] I guess if you have nothing,
and you're rooting for Alec to call, you.
- Like how do you throw out 25 in a row?
- I don't know.
- [David] If you have something,
you don't want Alec to call you.
But if you have nothing, you want him to call you,
so you have a chance to win the bluff.
- You have a good spot.
If he's big blind, you can limp the button
and then just bet the five and we'll be--
- No strategy please.
Don't help everybody get better at beating me.
- [Joe] They're now putting money on a Alec Torelli bluff.
So that's fun.
- This is ridiculous.
- Oh my god, you guys have a bounty now.
- I'm looking forward to paying $100 this hand.
- [Alec] Me too.
- [Chris] Torelli makes it 600.
- [Joe] Are we sure this in Chan Pelton
and this isn't Ty Burell from Modern Family?
- 600 extra
- There's 500 dead in the middle
and you're folding position, come on.
- I can't fold.
- Let's just pay him, let's just repay him.
- [Joe] Coleman calls.
- It's hard to bluff me when you limp call out a position.
- [Matt] It's hard to bluff him when he has the best hand.
- There's always a chance though.
- [Joe] Top pair for Torelli.
- This one has possibilities.
- [Joe] He's also got a gut shot.
Coleman's got a gut shot, a back door flush draw.
- [Matt] I wish you would have had the nine
when I had the ace, that would have been
a little extra incentive. - Check check.
- [Alec] A lot more.
- [Matt] Would yours be considered a bluff though?
On the river it would, but not on the turn.
It's not really a bluff, right?
- [Gavin] Yeah it's not but I wanna turn.
- [Chan] Yes, and that's where he was saying
like where's the line?
- [Gavin] No, it's gotta be a full bluff.
- [Matt] It has to be like a,
a bluff. - Like air?
- [Chan] Yeah, there's bluff and there's air,
two different things.
- [Gavin] On the turn, you can't have out saying--
- [Matt] Well, his is definitely not a bluff.
If he moves it on the turn,
so you check raise the turn?
- [Chan] It's not a bluff.
- [Matt] He's got at least 40% equity or something.
- [Chan] Yeah, but he's also not the best hand.
- [Joe] So this is interesting,
Coleman raise calls pre-flop then check raises the turn,
and when he does this, he's repping a pretty narrow range.
He's not supposed to have a straight,
so he's mostly repping sets.
It's pretty hard to hit a set.
- [Chris] And Torelli calls, so there's 5000 in the pot,
as we bring the river.
It's another five.
- [Joe] So none of the draws get there.
- [Male Voice] Drinks, cocktails?
- [Gavin] Thank you.
- 4500.
- [Chris] 4500 the bet from Coleman.
- (beep) I think he has it.
- It's kind of good, Alec always knows
whether he's getting,
whether he gets bluffed--
- [Chris] So there's the extra 100 bucks
coming from everbody.
- If they just fold, they have it.
You can get a lot of extra information in this game.
- [Alec] Well done.
- [Joe] Card player, Poker Tour champion.
- [Chris] Right in the corner, where the vendor is.
- [Joe] Chan Pelton.
- Holy (beep), I didn't realize I was playing with
a famous guy.
- A kind of a big deal.
- He's a big deal that won Choctaw.
- Yeah.
- [David] We're between Oklahoma champions.
He won the one across town for like a million.
- Oh at WinStar? - Yeah.
- A million?
- [Maxx] Seven seventy-five.
- [Gavin] Maybe you don't have to do anything illegal then.
- Did you bag this one?
- How much of it do you have left?
- [Maxx] Right there in the hand.
- [Matt] So who would you take right now?
He's got your play tomorrow.
- My play today.
Today's the last day, right?
- [Matt] Who would you think will last longer?
Him, or ETay's 15 blinds going with you too?
- [Gavin] He's only had his first bullet, right?
I'll take you there.
- [Matt] I would take ETay too.
What if he had 125 000 at dinner,
when you start with 20 000?
- Well, it just doesn't matter how good he is.
- If he has a 125 000 at dinner, we could bet.
- Okay, you got it, same bet.
- If you have a 125 or somewhere around there,
let us know, please.
- [Esther] You should give me a 100, or 100 plus.
- [Matt] I'll take him as well.
- 100 plus.
- [Matt] Only problem is if he plays today,
he was gonna buy any of us dinner.
- Yeah, that's the last day.
- Tomorrow. - Yeah.
- [Maxx] Today's the last day.
- Speak of the devil. - Today's the last day one.
- [Matt] No because he's only playing half of his session,
so he'll buy in before.
- Okay you're outta here. - What?
- [Gavin] Okay you're outta here.
- [Matt] Do you wanna play?
Do you guys want me,
didn't tell you want me to get up?
I don't care. - Just play half.
- [David] You said for half.
- Yeah, that's a good idea. - We need you in here.
- [David] Have him come on half-time.
- [Matt] Well Gavin and ETay want your bet.
I think it would be more fun with than Sally.
- [Gavin] I kind of, get a little bit of fun when you're in.
- [Matt] What?
- [Gavin] I kind of enjoy myself--
- [Alec] Matt is a little bit of fun, to be honest.
- How much is it? - Well I get it started but,
- [Matt] Once I get started, it just goes.
- [Alec] Matt just lights all the,
the kindle, all of that.
- [Matt] I'm good at that.
I don't know, your boy's gonna play.
- Hey, there's Mr. Quads.
- Here, take a look at this.
- [Chris] Oh, that is just a terrible card
for Esther Taylor.
- I call.
- King? - Flush.
- [Chris] Yeah, yeah, there was a flush out there.
Probably tough to see with that hat on.
♪ Where in the world did Esther Taylor ships go ♪
- No just, I'm the last one, is fine.
It's just some much easier that way.
Or any heads-up pot, obviously.
- You're saying if he folds
and then everybody folds behind you.
- [Alec] Then it doesn't count.
- [David] It's not like that bad,
you fold, fold, fold, fold. - So you're bluff it out.
- [Matt] The point is to bluff out.
- Exactly, but it's like you bet, he folds,
and I fold, you win.
- [David] It's not that tilting to bluff you
when you're one of four people.
- [Alec] Yeah.
- [Matt] How tilted are you right now ETay?
- I'm not tilted at all.
I'm happy.
I'm winning right now, you don't understand.
- [Chan] She has to be plus a thousand to pay off
that little bet though.
- Good call.
- This is actually,
I might not wanna speak.
- [Chris] Ace, eight, seven.
- [Joe] Taylor flopped the gut shot,
but Pelton's got half her straight-outs.
- That many.
- What'd he say?
- [David] He said, "That many."
- That many. - What was the count?
- Okay, that many.
- Wow, read that money.
- [Joe] Alright.
Call.
- Gavin, we got some juice here in this pot.
- [Joe] We're going to the turn.
Oh my lanta.
- [Chris] Oh baby.
A set it's set of nines for Pelton,
but a straight for Taylor.
- [Gavin] Hey Matt.
- Matts. - Yeah?
- [Gavin] Russel wants to go on the bull riding.
- Gavin, we got a big pot brewing.
- [Gavin] Does he have a spot?
Bull riding?
- They're doing it for three people,
but, we could work it out. - You're like 12 behind right?
- [Joe] Not only did ETay make the straight
but here hand is pretty well disguised.
A lot of the time, this bet here is gonna be her
picking up outs to a draw.
Diamonds have a draw now,
lots more straight draws out there.
- [Chris] And then Pelton thinking,
he's gonna make her pay for it.
- 5500.
- [Chris] There's the raise to 5500.
- [Joe] And she should be able to safely get it in now.
- All in, all in.
- [Joe] All in, call.
- Once or twice.
- Only wants her to stamp.
- Oh okay okay okay.
- Gotta show him though, all in so.
- Wow. - Oh my God.
- [Joe] That turn should not have happened.
- [Chris] It's insane.
- Only on Poker Night in America.
- Wow that's, pretty special.
- [Joe] Board pairs sevens.
Taylor, stacked.
- 330, you said three.
- [Alec] Oh we're doing 330 now?

- [Gavin] Now I might have to walk away
from the table at some point.
- [Alec] So where's this bull?
- It's right downstairs. - In the bar.
- Literally, but down the other side.
- So I guess that's not where you had
one of your 80 glasses of wine, or nine drinks?
- [Alec] It's a western bar, that's true.
- [Joe] Pelton limping, interesting, he's got
gambling chips now I guess.
- This is just Alec confusing me.
He watched me play all day yesterday,
he noticed what kind of crap I play,
and he's just gonna abuse it.
And I knew that was coming.
What can I do?
- [Joe] Torelli versus Baker,
holy quads batman.
And I think Torelli is gonna continue here, a lot.
- [Gavin] I've been watching Alec Torelli's videos
and it really mentions position quite a bit so,
that's why I play like that out of the gun.
- Does it? - Yeah.
- [Gavin] Says position is very very important--
- [Matt] He's a good teacher, right?
- [Gavin] Yes.
Well, except for I was missing
the most important part of the lesson.
- I'm just going to check.
You can check this here, you bet.
- [Joe] We like this hand.
- I don't know.
- Deuce of clubs.
- [Joe] So when Alex, is it Alec or, whichever,
when he gets called on the flop,
he might slow down here, and he does.
It's not a lot David would call a flop with,
and fold the turn.
Dear Baker's probably not going want to give, Alex?
- [Chris] Alec Torelli.
- [Joe] Alec the chance to,
or Torelli.
- [Alec] Let me get a couple more lemons.
- [Joe] Who was I thinking of?
I think this is a pretty easy fold.
Now Alec's been folding a lot to river bets.
And king high is only beating, total air.
Not doing so well against quadzilla.
- [Chris] You had quad fives

- [Joe] You gotta show quads.
It's in our charter.
- [Matt] Good, I didn't want that 100 bucks.
- Welcome back, poker demographic.
Yes, I'm talking to you Steve.
Could you imagine if there actually wasn't
anyone named Steve watching this right now?
How embarrassing that'd be.
- Steve is definitely watching, hey Steve.
- Given that it's the first time
it's happened to me in 12 years,
I don't think that it's
really worth investing that much time.
- [Chris] Alec Torelli with queens,
makes it 150.

now that Torelli has a real hand.
- I have that figured out.
- [Alec] It's definitely.

someone can always wake up with an even realer hand.

Wait, for the 1000.
Am I bluffing if I bet three flop?
I mean if I bet in dark?
- [Chris] Looks like a thousand bucks in the dark,
and an ace comes on the flop.
- [Joe] That ace could be incredibly helpful for Alec,
now it's gonna pay off this bet because of the dark bet.
I'm not sure he invests too much more in this pot.
Yeah, Alec's not putting another dime into this pot

because I'm trying to think what, is supposed to.
- [Joe] Alec's been bluffed in a few spots,
and I'd say if this were any other player

The problem is that, while he's gonna be beat here a lot,
David is capable of doing this with a worse hand queens,
thinking he might be able to get queens to fold.
- This is a tough spot, because I'm not sure what you do.
Maybe I'm thinking too much, I don't know.
- Just go back to the library of hands from yesterday.
Put them into the computer.
- Put them all in a simulator.
But now the simulator has a different algorithm.
- [Chris] I also forgot about the added dynamic
of everyone's trying to bluff Alec Torelli today,
and he's gotta consider that as well.
It's like the seven deuce game,
it's focused only on you.
- Well, I definitely call with some hands,

Probably not the best hand to call with.
I guess I block.
Alright, I don't know what to do.
- [Chris] And the call,
to pay David off. - Wow.
- [Alec] Nice hand.
- [Chris] Wow, quads, and then aces full.
- [Joe] How do you get paid with aces full,

- [Matt] What is she talking about?
- [David] I mean, it changes the odds for him
but not for you.
- [Alec] Yeah, but it does change the odds.
- [David] It increases his breadth--
- [Alec] It does change the odds for me,

- [David] Yeah, as bluff frequency gets higher.
- [Alec] It does change--
- Sorry I'm done bluffing you.
- [Alec] Exactly, it doesn't change the odds for me, but--
- [David] But it changes the bluff frequency.
- [Alec] It improves my relative hand strength.
So that's why it's like harder to, gauge.
It's not like, it just takes more time,
like in a spot where I've--
- Yeah, like the hand versus me.
Like you probably just incidentally fold if I have to,
if I have to be winning less percents of the time.
- [Alec] Yeah.
I should maybe still fold but.
- [Joe] Alright so ETay was the straddler here.
- I raised.
- [Joe] We're going three ways to the flop.
- [Chris] Five, five, 10 is the flop,

- What's that?
- [Joe] 10, eight, from worst to first.
Will they hold?
No they will not.
- [Chris] That didn't last long.
- Yeah, because he calls everything.

- [Alec] For what?
- [Matt] Being too tight.
- Really? - Yeah.

- What? - Who do you want for a 100?
- Huh? - Who do you want for a 100?
- Well you know, I'm gonna light it on fire.

Very well played.
- The rough deck continues for Esther Taylor

We'll be back in a moment to wrap things up
here in Choctaw when we come back.
- Welcome back to planet Earth version C137.
I'm Joe Stapleton, and this my Chris Hanson.
- [Chris] And these are our chip counts,
and we don't see Alec Torelli
lose here all that often on Poker Night,
but he's gonna leave here $15000 lighter.
Esther Taylor took a 2-by-4 of a cold deck
to the side of the head for over 25 grand,
and everyone else here finished with a profit.
Maxx Coleman with two X's was our biggest winner of 12K,
and both Chan Pelton and David ODB Baker
won roughly 10 grand.
- Who do you think would win a worst name contest?
Chan Pelton?
Or Reince Priebus?
- Shaun Deeb, it's just two weird syllables.
