Crown of Blood: Lady Jane Grey, interview with Tudor historian Nicola Tallis - Duration: 4:24.

Nicola many congratulations on the publication of your new book "Crown of

Blood subtitled the deadly inheritance of Lady Jane Grey", in it you argue that

the crown of England was in some ways a poisoned chalice? I think the term

poisoned chalice is perhaps a bit strong but I do certainly argue that royal

blood could be as much of a curse as a blessing and I think really that Janes'

example demonstrates that for any who aspired to a crown the axe could fall at

any time. in what ways was Lady Jane Grey a pawn

on a political chessboard? She was absolutely 100% a pawn she was

the traditional tale that Jane was forced into a queenship that she didn't

want is a hundred percent accurate she in no way wanted to be queen and for a

long time I don't think that her parents ever imagines that she would be queen

either or certainly not a queen regnant in her own right. I think that they had

visions of her marrying Edward the sixth and becoming a queen consort but never

Queen in her own right which was completely unprecedented at that time in

any case, so the whole situation was really manipulated primarily by

John Dudley the Duke of Northumberland and Janes' parents eventually fell in

with it too and of course Jane being a girl was expected to fall in with the

wishes of her parents and her male superiors and just expected to be

obedient. How significant was John Dudley in this tragic drama? Incredibly

significant, John Dudley really rises to power during the reign of Edward the

sixth and comes to the forefront of English politics through the fall of

Edward the sixth's uncle Edward Seymour the Duke of Somerset and he really

manipulated the whole situation in order to serve his own purposes and to keep a

grasp on the power that he had over the throne. What do you think it is about the

Tudors that centuries later has created such high drama for historians

to investigate? They're such a cutthroat family and such a cutthroat dynasty I

think and they've all got such strong personalities or most of them have

anyway so you've got Henry the eighth who's this larger-than-life figure but

almost in many ways the father of the Tudor dynasty and of course Elizabeth

the first is is well remembered too but actually Edward and Mary, Henry's son and

Henry's other daughter they were they were dominant personalities within their

own right it's just that their their reigns and their lives were cut short

and they didn't have much chance to demonstrate their characters but we have

to remember that within the five years that Mary was queen she did order the

burnings of nearly 300 Protestants and I think had Edward the sixth reigned

longer - then he probably would have done something similar in terms of

Catholics. It was an age of extremes wasn't it? Absolutely yeah absolutely

extremes and you know some historians estimate that Henry the eighth's ordered

the executions of up to 72,000 people almost certainly a great exaggeration

but needless to say by the end of his reign he had gone from a handsome and

liberal Prince to a tyrant. So what's next for you? My next book is a biography

of Lettice Nollys who was the wife of Elizabeth the first favourite Robert

Dudley Earl of Leicester so it's called "Elizabeth's rival: the

life of Lettice Nollys but that again is interesting too because she may have

been an illegitimate granddaughter of Henry the eighth's and so they may have

she already was a cousin of Elizabeth the first but actually the two might

have been closer than they maybe you know were aware of themselves and she

died at the age of 91, so her reign I'm sorry her life spans

from the reign of Henry the eighth right through to Charles the first.

Nicola Tallis thank you. Thank you.

10 CS:GO WALLHACKS - Duration: 5:16.

In today's video you will see 10 legit wallhacks in CS:GO.

This video is sponsored by CSGOFast.com.

Use my code "K3JFY" to get special bonus money on site.

Hey guys, NadeKing here.

This video is the proof that Valve has actually given us some opportunities to wallhack legally

without using any illegal softwares.

These are awful bugs and I hope some day these spots will get fixed.

So, in today's video, I show you 10 spots, where you can see people through the walls.

Let's go.

Let's start off with an insane wallhack on De_Mirage.

Go to top middle.

Build the three man tower right here on this edge.

Guy, who is on the top of the tower can see almost half of the map.

This is just an amazing, supergeneral info position.

You have to try it out and see if it helps you in your game or not.

Anywayz, great spot to get a lot of info if you are playing a slow round.

Alright, De_Nuke lobby.

This ladder is really helpful tool.

If you climb the ladder a bit then you can easily see through this ceiling to the T roof.

It works both ways.

Great to know if you want to scout the roof before going out there.

De_Cache, squeaky.

This wallhack was featured in one of my latest De_Cache tricks videos, you can check this

video out from the right top corner of this video.

So, I won't stop on this for too long.

Crouch, play around with your crosshair till your right side of the screen sees through A main.

Totally free wallhack for you.

De_Train ivy.

You need 3 people to get this work, but make a two-man tower right here.

Now when the guy on top jumps he can see the Ivy.

Just keep jumping and getting this easy info from Ivy.

If someone really decides to push you can kill him easily, as this tower position is

good offangle as well.

Supergeneral.

Next up De_Nuke once again.

We are on the silo.

If you make a 2-man tower on the really edge of this silo.

And now when the top guy jumps down from the silo like this he could see

behind this blue container on CT side outside.

This is because, container model dissapears on a right distance, as you can see.

Now this is not really practical as you are losing 75hp when falling

to the ground, although you can get someone to catch you or jump towards T roof and then

you will only lose 25 hp.

I do not recommend you to do it as you will most likely lose some valuable hp

no matter what, but still, at least it is great to show this sneaky wallhack to your friends.

Italy.

This is first ever trick on Italy by me and also sorry for not knowing the callouts.

So, come to this corner and make a 2-man boost here.

Now you can see through this wall and basically be a wallhacker from this position.

If you play this map a lot, it will be great addition to your Italy tricks arsenal.

Alright, Assault.

Same thing with Italy, never showed any tricks here and I don't know the callouts well.

So, climb this ladder and here you can see people inside hiding in this corner.

Thanks for HSTop for showing me this wallhack, make sure to check out his YouTube channel

as well, a lot of great tricks there and he makes CS:GO look so beautiful.

Anywayz, supergeneral stuff.

De_Train once again.

Heaven.

This is rather a really tiny gap than a wallhack, but as it is in a strange position let's consider

this as a little wallhack today.

Break the glass and have a look towards CT spawn.

You can see anyone coming from that way towards bombsite.

And you can kill them, definitely before they even see you.

It is nearly impossible to see you, that is why we can consider this as a wallhack as well.

Again Assault, this map just keeps giving nice wallhacks.

If someone is in the vents right about here.

You can see them through this roof window and brutally kill them.

They can see nothing, so you are safe and remember this when you are in the vents yourself..

this is a really bad wallhack.

And the last tip of this video.

Again De_Train, this is not as powerful as others but still a wallhack.

You can see anyone who stays around here from the ladder position.

Just scope in if you are not sure and you can people like this.

Really situational, but still a wallhack.

So hit the like button if you enjoyed and check out my Twitter for the ongoing knife

giveaway, this beauty right here.

Hopefully, you improved your supergeneral CS:GO knowledge and thanks for watching!

Now its the right time to click on the next video.

Can Chefs Make Brussels Sprout-Haters Change Their Mind? - Duration: 6:49.

- We Brusselin'. Everyday we Brusselin'.

Everyday we do Brusselin'.

(upbeat music)

- I hate Brussels sprouts.

- I hate Brussels sprouts.

- I think Brussels sprouts are disgusting and terrible.

- I went out to dinner with my friends from high school

a few months ago and they forced me

to try Brussels sprouts again.

It was covered in like garlic and bacon

and it was still disgusting.

- Being a vegetarian, I think people often assume

that I'm typically always down for Brussels sprouts.

Like any time I tell people it's always this

like shocked reaction.

- I haven't really given it a fair shot,

but I don't know if I'm gonna give it

a fair shot today either.

(electronic music)

- My name is Ross Pineda,

currently the junior sous chef at Pig and Cow.

- I am @HappyHealthyLatina, AKA Chef Yadi

and I'm the plant-based people chef.

I heard we have some picky eaters with vegetables.

Brussels sprouts. Dun dun dun!

I think they have a little bit of a bad rep.

We out here coming to bring the Brussels to the hustle.

Let's get these haters out here

and turn them into lovers.

We hear you might have some vegetables

that are not your favorite.

- They've not had one single Brussels sprout

that I've ever enjoyed.

- [Yadi] Not one?

- [Kyle] No.

- I think they smell terrible.

- Ooh they smell like what?

- Garbage.

- It's like a little baby cabbage.

It's like, "Hi!" - Well I don't like

I don't like cabbage so.

- Like babies?

- I don't like babies. (laughing)

I am like beyond picky, but it's all in my head.

It's all about texture.

- [Ross] Yes it is

- And temperature.

- What are some of the ways

you've eaten Brussels sprouts before?

- I've eaten it like the really gross way

where you just microwave them and then

put it out there.

- Wait, who, no.

What are some flavors that you like?

- [Ross] What makes you happy?

- I like spicy food a lot.

- Ooh, okay.

- I love crunchy things.

- I'm like a savory over sweet kind of person.

- Savory over sweet.

- Are you a strict vegetarian?

- I eat seafood,

but that's it. - Oh, okay.

It's gonna be alright, ready?

(loud exhaling)

May the odds be ever in our

flavor. - Flavor.

(laughing)

(upbeat music)

- I love to mix in sofrito Caribbean flavors.

Lots of spices and seasonings

that our contestants said that they loved.

So I'm gonna mix that with something

that they absolutely hate which is Brussels sprouts

and see if we can, not hide it,

but celebrate and tuck it at the same time.

I'm making a shaved Brussels slaw

with some red onions and then I'm making

a Brussels sprout slider,

and Old Bay Brussels chippies.

A lot of what people don't like

is like the texture and the shape

so by using this mandolin here

I've already deconstructed the shape

and we're gonna make it rain sprouts.

- I am making a Brussels sprout salad.

So it's practically deep fried Brussels sprouts

with some cilantro, mint, some chili-lime dressing

like Southeast Asian style.

Traditionally we use pork jowl

which is right under here,

but today I'm gonna be using bacon and pancetta.

So I'm just trying to bring all these flavors

so that people can understand that Brussels sprouts

are not that bad.

And I understand that we do have a vegetarian

in our panel of judges, but you don't have

to put in any meat in this salad

which is actually really good.

So you can stay healthy and enjoy Brussels sprouts

at the same time.

I'm deep frying the Brussels sprouts

in just plain canola oil.

That takes away some of the bitterness

and when you hit it with the salt and acid

and all the herbs it really brings out

the best flavor it could possibly be.

- I brought my Caribbean flavors

with my homemade adobo and sofrito inside of my panko.

Then I have my American flavors with my slider

and my Brussels sprout fries

and now I'm bringing the Asian flavors

with what I'm doing to the shrimp.

I'm bringing some garlic, some honey,

some soy sauce, some ginger.

Pow pow pow.

That was a technical cooking term.

(upbeat music)

This is the American meets Caribbean Brussels sprouts.

Everyday we hustlin', Brusselin plate.

You got your Brussels sprout slider,

your Old Bay Brussels sprout chippies,

a miso-maple butter sauce, a shaved slaw,

and some jalapeno in your face.

- I just pretty much made a fried Brussels sprout salad.

I kept it Southeast Asian with the flavors,

hit it with chili-lime dressing.

For my non-vegetarian homies

I put some bacon and pancetta lardons.

This is toasted rice powder.

It adds a little bit more extra flair

and we are done.

(intense electronic music)

- You don't even really taste

the Brussels sprouts in the patty.

- I said I like crunchy.

She listened to me, she made it extra crunchy.

- I try to be the people's chef.

(intense electronic music)

- Mmm!

- It's sweet.

- At a restaurant someone put this down

I'd be like, "Hell no. I'm not touching this,"

but it has really nice flavor, really nice spice.

It's like sweet and savory kinda mixed together.

- Exactly what I was going for.

- I'm diggin' it.

- First dish, so good, delicious.

I loved the texture of it,

especially the chippies on the side.

I thought it was great.

The second dish, when you put that down on the table

I was like, "Hmm, cut!"

The pressure was on, the cameras were rolling

so I took a bite and I'm so glad that I did.

I just want blinders on 'cause I don't

wanna make anybody feel bad.

- Aw, come on. (laughing)

- The second dish is my favorite.

- As a vegetarian I'm always open

to different slider options

and this was delicious and the chips on the side

were a really nice added bonus.

The second dish I also loved as well.

I'm a big fan of vegetables and salads and everything.

While both were incredible, the creativity

of the first dish really struck a chord with me.

That's my favorite.

- A slider is something I really like

and so to do like a Brussels sprout take on it

was like really cool for me

and then the salad really shocked me

because I was like looking at a full Brussels sprout

and I was, you expect me to put this in my mouth?

But the flavors were amazing.

They were the spices all mixed together

and they were like savory and sweet,

but I think I have to go with the salad.

I was literally eating a Brussels sprout

straight up and it was amazing and I was shocked.

I'm glad we got to change your guys' minds.

- [All] Yeah!

- Can we get some Brussels spirit fingers going here?

(laughing)

Everyday we Brusselin'.

- Yeah.

- So Chef Ross, did we hustle for these Brussels?

- It's all in the muscle.

(electronic music)

The David Ayer Hollywood Story - The Career Behind Training Day and Bright - Duration: 5:57.

Known for violence, guts and gore.

As well as highly stylized storytelling with cool, gritty connections to the streets of

LA.

David Ayer is one of Hollywood's most popular working writer-directors.

And for good reason.

With films like Training Day and Fury under his belt, Ayer has proven himself as a powerhouse

in Hollywood when it comes to making films that are both high-quality and high-energy.

Welcome to Wicked-Binge.

Your home to embrace the best cinema and television: Because we love your favorite movies and shows

too.

I'm Kyle, and today we're looking at the life and career of David Ayer.

From his teenage years in Los Angeles to his time in the Navy, to his first screenwriting

job, all the way up to his recent projects like Netflix's Bright.

This is the Hollywood Story of David Ayer.

But first, be sure to subscribe and hit that bell icon so you get notifications whenever

we upload.

BIO: Born in Champaign, Illinois in 1968, David

Ayer traveled with his family across the United States, and eventually found himself settled

in Los Angeles.

Kicked out of the house by his mother early on, he found himself staying on his cousin's

couch in South Central LA.

In his own words, I raised a lot of hell.

And when I came to California I didn't really stop.

Not interested in college, Ayer dropped out of high school and joined the Navy.

Both environments, the Military life and the streets of LA, would ultimately contribute

to his work down the road.

He served in the Navy as a Submarine Sonar Technician (STS) aboard the USS Haddo.

But it was after his time in the military, while working in construction, that Ayer started

writing.

Claiming that he learned screenwriting from reading Syd Field.

Through a friendship with Wesley Strick, the writer of Cape Fear, he landed some script

rewriting jobs that led to his work as screenwriter of Training Day.

Antoine Fuqua's film about an NYPD newcomer desperate to make the NARC squad run by a

corrupt and thick-skinned Sergeant.

The movie would win Denzel Washington an Oscar and kick-off Ayer's career in Hollywood.

But while Training Day was entering the early stages of production, Ayer was approached

to work on another project.

One that would allow him to use his days in the Navy as a resource for his writing.

Ayer co-wrote U-571, a story of a US Recon team on a mission to intercept a German vessel.

Both films released to positive feedback.

More work came in, as Ayer co-wrote The Fast and the Furious, as well as S.W.A.T. and worked

for the first time as sole writer on Dark Blue All three of which took place in the

streets of Los Angeles.

Ayer's first time in the director's chair was for the 2005 film Harsh Times, which he

also wrote.

The film about two friends in violent South Central LA was met with mixed reviews, but

sparked Ayer's directing career.

His 2012 film End of Watch, which surprise-surprise, was about two young police officers taking

on the streets of LA, was a big box office win.

Made for only 7 million dollars, the movie grossed over 48 million.

It also received overwhelmingly good reviews.

After directing 2014's Sabotage, a film he didn't himself write, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger,

Ayer began working on Fury.

The story of a grizzled tank commander and his squad, fighting German forces during the

tail end of WW2.

The film was met with great reviews and was another box office win.

Turning it's 68 million dollar budget into a worldwide gross of 211 million.

Ayer referred to Fury as a Slice of Life film.

Saying that it's about a family in a tank.

When asked about critics, he said At the end of the day, I made End of Watch for Cops and

I made Fury for people who've been in the military.

Ayer's Suicide Squad was met with mixed opinions.

Many saying it involved too much story, criticizing the pacing and editing.

While others praised him for the creative risks he took as director.

In hindsight, Ayer takes the criticism in stride, saying I wish I had a time machine.

I'd make Joker the main villain and engineer a more grounded story.

I have to take the good and bad and learn from it.

I love making movies and I love DC.

I'm a high school dropout and used to paint houses for a living.

I'm lucky to have the job I have.

I have to give the characters the stories and plots they deserve next time.

Real talk.

(And no, there isn't a secret edit of the film with a bunch of Joker scenes hidden in

a salt mine somewhere.)

Netflix's Bright, set in

an alternate reality where humans, orcs and elves coexist, starring Will Smith and Joel

Edgerton was also met with mixed reviews.

But interestingly, audiences loved it.

Although critics tore the movie apart, viewers have come to it's defense, making it a film

with one of the biggest discrepancies between critics and audience scores.

Holding only a 28% positive by Critics vs. a very impressive 88% by Fans on Rotten Tomatoes.

Shortly after it's release, Ayer tweeted out Thank you so much for all the kind words about

Bright.

It means a lot.

I'm glad people are making their own minds up!

We're looking forward to whatever movies David Ayer writes or directs never.

Which film of his is your favorite?
