what's up guys it's Matt from Macro Lean and in this video I'm going to be
talking about the very important concept of "Imperfect consistency, imperfect
action" This is so important for your life to achieve goals, to get success, to
smash through barriers and this video is quite fitting because the video I'm
filming right now, is my 90th video! I'm doing in the 90 day video challenge. I
started this three months ago, ninety days ago on the 8th of October. I
made a pledge to upload a video every single day for 90 days to my youtube
channel and to my facebook platform and I've done it. I've completed it! But it
hasn't been pretty. There's been really hard times. Getting one video up
can be a bit of a task where you're gonna have to write the script, shoot it,
edit it, do thumbnails, captions and subtitles and all that stuff. Now times that by 90 and it's
a task, it's a fucking uphill battle, but I got
the job done with imperfect consistency. I turned up every day and I did the job
even though there were times I didn't feel like it. I run a business as well.
I have my own life going on but I still got the job done and I had to take
imperfect action a lot of the time. But now that's compounded and added up and
have 90 new videos up online giving value, giving good content and putting my
reach, my words, my ethos and my brand out there into the world. Now how does this
relate to you??? It relates to you for any goal in life! Let's say you have to
change your body and you need to lose weight,
shape up, tone up whatever! You need to be okay with imperfect action! Because when
you take imperfect action over time that compounds and you get an amazing return
on your investment. Many times before people have come to me and they're like
"I'm disgusted with myself! I've let myself go. I'm gonna go crazy and do like
three workouts a day and just eat green vegetables and live on a thousand
calories"... and it never lasts long term. They're trying to be too perfect and as
soon as they fall off the wagon they jack it in. Compare that to someone who
was like "you know what... I'm gonna give myself three, six maybe even 12 months
and Beyond and take imperfect action... track my food
but I'm probably not gonna be spot on all the time. I might be a bit
over. I might be a bit under. I'm gonna try and hit the gym three to four times a week. But
sometimes I might miss a workout but I'm gonna do my best". With that imperfect
consistency you will get amazing results. You need to take this on! I think it was
around 2011 I was listening to this really interesting guy
online. It was about psychology, self-development, self-help and he was
like "Let go of perfection, that shit will kill you"
And when I started doing that and just doing the best I could in the moment and
then putting it out there and learning, growing, tweaking, evolving things started
to fall into place. It's still not easy but with imperfect consistency, imperfect
action things compound and add up over time. So if you need to go after
something in your life... whatever! Your health, your weight, your body fat, new
relationship, career, money or whatever be okay with imperfect consistency. It will
add up and compound over time and it will give you an amazing return on your
