Fierce winds and freezing temperatures hit southern regions - Duration: 1:45.

Forces of nature let their presence clearly be felt in the southern regions of the nation.

Heavy snowfall and strong winds grounded flights and clogged roads.

Making matters worse, the mercury's expected to dip even further down in the next couple

of days.

Park Hee-jun give us the updates.

Intense winter weather caused havoc Wednesday in the southern regions of Korea, snarling

traffic on the roads and at the airports.

The southern island of Jeju was one of the worst-hit.

A heavy snowfall alert was issued for the entire island as of 7 p.m. Wednesday.

More snow is expected to fall until Friday,... with some moutainous areas likely to be blanketed

with up to 50 centimeters of snow.

Fierce winds caused chaos at Jeju International Airport for a second day.

The strong wind and windshear warnings issued for all arriving and departing flights in

southern cities, including Gwangju and Yeosu,... led to dozens of delays and cancellations.

As of 5 p.m. local time,... 86 flights to and from those cities were delayed and 28

cancelled.

Meanwhile, heavy snowfall and strong winds forced the authorities to completely close

off Jeju's highest peak, Mount Hallasan,... and most roads along the island's coast.

Service was suspended on all passenger ships as well.

In Jeollanam-do Province, where strong wind and heavy snow warnings were issued,... a

series of car accidents have also occurred continuously, particularly in Gwangju and

Suncheon.

Although there were no deaths, dozens were injured and taken to the hospital.

Further damage is expected on Thursday due to snowfall continuing until the next morning.

Seoul has seen only light snow in the morning, but the cold has some roads and sidewalks

frozen.

Temperatures are forecast to drop even more on Thursday,... likely making for the coldest

day so far this season.

Learning how to Snowboard - Duration: 6:45.

Hey guys! Today Ivona and I are going snowboarding.

- How is it ? - I have to learn once again how to ride.

We are at Poiana Brașov, Romania. I am helping her learn how to snowboard.

I'm not by any means an expert.

And I'm not an instructor.

But I do consider myself to be an intermediate rider.

I learned how to snowboard by watching YouTube videos.

But watching videos isn't enough. The best way to learn something is by practicing.

The best practice I got was by taking a week-long snowboarding trip to Bansko, Bulgaria

with a group of people that knew how to ride.

This helped a lot because I could see close-up what they are doing and I could ask them for tips.

It also helped that I wanted to keep up with them, and so I tried things slightly out of my comfort zone

This is very important when learning. Be willing to go just a little bit over your comfort zone.

The Bansko ski resort is terrific.

I was fortunate enough to go when there was a lot of snowing

and thus plenty of powder and backcountry riding.

I did a video on the experience. Link in the description and on the card in the top right corner.

Now I'm passing along what I learned

This is not the first time she's been on a snowboard.

Today she is practicing the techniques I showed her.

We start off slow, so she gets acquainted with the new board, as it is rental gear.

At first she's dragging the board, catching edges,

and trying to force the board to get into position.

But after a few turns she starts to be more relaxed and confident.

I feel it is important to start with the basics when learning how to snowboard.

Learn how to stop, how to do falling leaf,

how to use your body to control the snowboard and build up confidence.

The more relaxed you are the better.

And practice is key. Practice, practice, practice !

Another good tip for beginners is to watch where you are going

and watch out for the other people when you are traversing the slopes.

After the lifts have closed we headed to a neighboring castle which is known as Dracula's Castle.

And we visited a fortress where we got an incredible view

Wow ! Wthat a beautiful place ! See ?

Will show you more in an upcoming video with more beautiful places from Romania.

But now, back to snowboarding !

Look out ! it's steeper ! But you will manage.

Go slow ! Ok ?

- But don't film me. - I won't. I will film myself.

I liked that stunt.

I'm feel hot !

That's it for now.

Like, share, subscribe, and until next time you can watch some of my other videos.

Is smoking allowed in Tokyo? - Duration: 3:38.

seba will teach us why you can't refuse to

go to the smoking room area

when you are going to NOMIKAI in Japan

while we hope that smoke will get banned, so that we can avoid stink like a chimneys after a sandwich

Hello everyone, how are you?

today I wanted to respond to one of your comment with this video

the comment was about smoking in Japan

and they've left me that comment, because I was complaning about smoking inside restaurant in JAPAN

and so someone told me, you are an adult if you don't want to go to these restaurant you can just say so

and let the freedom to people who wants to smoke, to smoke

the point is that I was saying very clearly that I was referenting to business dinners

also called NOMIKAI

so when you go out to drink with your co-workers and boss

but is in their culture that in these occasions I really can't tell my boss or clients

that I don't want to go to this restaurant because I don't like smoke if they like to smoke

and at the same time many Japanese can't to that either

and if I had something to say i've said here in my channel,

not to my clients during thee occasions

because is something that you CAN'T do in Japan

I know it's hard to understand for people who don't live in Japan

but i'ts really a cultural difference that exists between italy and Japan

because if you are at a business dinner, your can't tell your boss

let's go to the NO-SMOKING area

because I don't want to go, even tho I'm actually allergic to smoke,

because it goes agaist their way of do things

so to be honest I've complained here about this topic

because it's something that I can't complain about in these situations

that's how it is right now in Japan

and I'm sure that there are a lot of Japanese that are allergic to smoke but they have to go to these events

they would want to go to a non-smoking area, but they can't complain about it

but they can't

at the same time I'm sure many Japanese people would prefer not drink at these Nomikai

but if you boss (or sempai) offer you to drink you MUST drink

that how it is in Japan and there is nothing we can do about it

it is also something charming about Japanese culture

that keeps its traditions and respects from your senpai (or boss)

so (back to the guy who was commenting) I hope that smoking inside restaurants will get banned

since in many countries now they don't allow you to do that

+ Olympic Games are coming , I hope this will change

so that if someone don't like smoke, he doesn't need to go to these area anymore

but please understand that it's a different culture

so the question that you had asked me

and what you had suggested me to do

that is tell my boss that I want to go to a no-smoking area

let me tell you that I can't say that! Because that's JAPAN

and this problem only comes when I go out drinking with boss/sempai or clients

with my friends, I have no problem letting them know my issue with smoke

so, I really appreciate your comment and criticism

but I had to responde to you with this video to letting you understand

the difference in this country

I hope that this video let you understand better how it works in Japan, and I hope you had enjoyed it

and please let me know in the comment what do you think about this issue

what do you think? Shall Japan banned smoking from restaurants or not?

I personally don't smoke, so my point of you is from a no-smoker prospective

but understand that in Japan there is this + issue which is that you can't complain if you go to a NOMIKAI

and that's why I have a really strong opinion about this issue

I hope you have understand more the situation

if you have more question send me a comment below, don't forget to subscriber/share and like

see you tomorrow! ciao ciao

Water 'IF' Its a human right? - Duration: 13:31.

Hello welcome to if videos on money, politics and conspiracy

We post videos every week press that subscribe button and never miss a video again.

Water is essential to all life on the planet, access to clean drinking is a basic human

right and sadly in many parts of the world a right many still do not have.

As we look to the poorer countries and help them secure this basic need have we taken

our eye off the ball at home?

First world nations do not give much thought to water unless there is a problem, pollution

or drought bringing the issue to the forefront of people's minds.

But are we slowing losing this right and not to accidents or climate change but to big

business, is there a plan to privatize water?

The current Chairman and former chief executive officer of Nestlé, the biggest producer of

food products on the planet, believes that the solution to the world's water problems

is privatization.

This plan coming from the company that has introduced junk food to the peoples of the

Amazon, invests massive amounts of cash to stop the labeling of GMO- produce.

And has a cyber army at its disposal to crush criticism and discussions on the internet.

This is the multinational monster we are meant to trust to manage our water, this group having

a documented history of creating shortages:

These Giant international companies are given water-well privileges and tax breaks, this

often over an area's population rights all because they are said to produce jobs.

Next time they're thirsty let them try drinking a job!

Firms like Coca Cola and Nestlé suck up millions of gallons of water, the water they use to

produce the sugary soft drinks leading to shortages in the area.

Even with this being common knowledge Company Chairman, Peter Brabeck-Letmathe, believes

that "access to water isn't a public right."

He also stated that it's not an individual's right.

He wants privatization!

Is this a man and corporation worthy of our trust with something that is so essential

to all life?

This is beyond money, this is power!

We could be giving up our humanity.

The access to water allows us to build our cities and towns grow our food and many other

things, is this a level of control we want to give to a company with a less than ethical

history?

Here is one example of this company's regard for the general public

In the small Pakistani community of Bhati Dilwan, a former village councilor says children

are being sickened by filthy water.

Who's to blame?

He says it's bottled water-maker Nestlé, which dug a deep well that is depriving locals

of potable water.

"The water is not only very dirty, but the water level sank from 100 to 300 to 400 feet,"

Dilwan says Why?

Because if the community had H2O piped in, it might deprive Nestlé of its moneymaking

market in water bottled under the Pure Life brand name.

Let's take a look at this captain of industry's views (video)

Do we want or need a man who chooses profit over life in control of water?

I think not.

But he is not alone Water is a right and should be conserved for the benefit of all, yet industrial

agriculture uses and pollutes a disproportionate share of this resource, even as millions of

people die every year for lack of clean water.

This scarcity only helps to increase water's value as an economic commodity —and multinational

conglomerates are eager to profit from this deteriorating situation by buying up water

rights on every continent.

Today about 90 percent of the world's freshwater stocks currently remain in public control,

but privatization is becoming more common as cash hungry governments increasingly cannot

afford to maintain and repair crumbling municipal water purification and delivery systems.

Historically, however, in places where privatization has been established, it has proven to be

another cause of—rather than a solution to—chronic water shortage problems.

This because corporations are more concerned with making money than serving people's

and communities' best interests, water privatization has led to corruption, lack of corporate accountability,

loss of local agency, weakened water quality standards, and steep rate hikes that eliminate

poor people's access to water.

Clean Water is a basic human right we know this, we carry this message across the globe

helping those without access install the necessary systems to manage their water.

We believe we are helping but are we really just installing a system that will eventually

be privatized and used for profit.

Are we giving the corporations the infrastructure they need to enslave the planet?

This may seem like an extreme idea but if we face that very threat at home today it

will spread in the future.

Let's not allow access to water to become a privilege or enable it to be used a weapon

of societal control.

Let's keep it in the hands of everyone.

What do you think, is water privatization a good thing or a bad thing let me know in

the comments below?

As always if you enjoyed the video please hit that like button

Maybe give the channel a subscribe Thanks for watching

Until next time.

No Choice But Pork for Muslim Kids in French School - Duration: 3:25.

Hi there David Harris Mira Svirsky here from Clarion project we've come to

talk today about a story in France where a school has decided it will no longer

offer non pork meals. The local mayor is a member of a right-wing political party

and the assumption is that this is a political movement has been looking into

it so what's the background to all of this so first of all it's not as strange

as you may think coming from well I come from America you're from the UK we have

a separation of church and state in France we we have also a separation of

church and state in France but it's a principle called lacy a lacy Tay is

something that is almost like a religion to them a religion of secularism it

means basically that you're free from religion so they have to implement this

which might have been appropriate when France was completely controlled by the

Catholic Church it was a movement made after the Revolution and enacted into

law right after the turn of the century and maybe that was okay for then but

when you have a society there's not a homogeneous society which what France is

now not homogeneous it's a little ridiculous they've done things like as

late as 2004 they have banned any religious expression in public schools

so you can't wear if you're Muslim you can't wear a headscarf you can't wear a

cross if you're Christian you can't wear a saree David if you're Jewish or I keep

up anything in public school we would look at that as an American I would

certainly look at that as a lack of religious freedom to emphasize what you

were saying in terms of homogeneity this school is one-quarter Muslim so is this

something that I'm you know you've given the background everything we can tell

where you're heading but would you say that this is something that is totally

unacceptable is there something that people

challenging the calls or is this just you know part and parcel of living in a

secular society I don't think that it's part and parcel of living in a secular

society the way society is now this type of Lacey Tay has turned into the

religion of France it was a Mis utopian idea and we see with a lot of utopian

ideas that it turns into totalitarianism rather what I would like to see is a

little bit of Tolerance when I went to school we had a cafeteria and you could

choose what you want what's the problem with choosing you've got 25 percent of

the students who don't want to eat pork on top of that is really crazy what's

happening in France is because the state has taken over or maybe it's maybe it's

leftover that the state has taken over religious expression what this does is

it pushes Muslims out of the public school system to form their own private

schools now in Muslim private schools in France the teachers salaries are paid

for by the state and the schools are subsidized so where's the integration

they're going to leave it then the aera thank you very much you need I think he

made a very valid point please let us know your comments you can do that if

you're watching this on YouTube the comments down below you can of course

also always send us comments via our website thanks very much indeed for

watching until the next time

Two Koreas agree to keep holding talks to promote peace - Duration: 2:25.

Pyongyang confirming its participation in the Winter Olympics during the high level

talks signaled a thaw in inter-Korean relations.

With communications channels re-opened, expectations of more constructive developments are high.

However according to our Ji Myung-kil.. it's going to be a long and tough process.

South and North Korea have agreed to hold further high-level talks, working level talks

and military talks in the upcoming days... but the dates have not been set.

(Korean) "The reason why we did not fix a date for

the talks is because we have the communication channel reopened at Panmunjeom.

The dates for the upcoming talks will be set through further negotiations."

The two sides will hold working-level talks in order to have a North Korean delegation

conduct an on-site survey of the Olympic facilities in Pyeongchang prior to the arrival of the

athletes.

The exact dates of such visit will be fixed through exchanging documents.

But Tuesday's talks weren't completely harmonious as North Korea's chief negotiator...

Ri Son-gwon... expressed strong discontent over South Korean claims to the media that

denuclearization could be part of upcoming South-North military talks.

Therefore, Seoul's unification ministry said denuclearization was a process towards peace

on the Korean Peninsula.

(Korean) "We cannot make concessions over the South-North's

joint declaration to achieve denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula.

We're trying our best to peacefully resolve the North's nuclear issue."

The North's chief negotiator Ri stressed during the talks that all the North's strategic weapons,

including atomic and hydrogen bombs, ICBMs, and rockets were entirely targeting the United

States.

He said Pyongyang is not targeting South Korea,... nor China or Russia.

Seoul hopes to promptly resume dialogue on a peace settlement which would include denuclearization.

However, no headway was made toward organizing another round of reunifications for families

separated during the Korean War, nor toward the possibility of reopening the shut down

Kaesong Industrial Complex.

South Korea's President Moon Jae-in willing to sit down with North Korea's Kim Jong-un - Duration: 2:30.

Let's start things off with President Moon Jae-in's New Year's news conference.

During the session with the press, he touched on a wide range of issues.

As anticipated, questions related to North Korea came flooding in.

Our chief Cheongwadae correspondent Moon Connyoung has this hour's top story.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in's first New Year's news conference before some two

hundred Korean and foreign press... televised live across the nation.

In a speech that allows the president to outline his government's agenda and national priorities

for the rest of the year, the South Korean leader spent most of his time focusing on

the nation's economic and social issues.

Predictably, however, when the floor was turned over for questions, it was North Korea that

took center stage... as the president's presser came on the heels of a rare high-level face-to-face

between the two Koreas.

(Korean) "I'm open to any form of meeting, including

a summit with North Korea's leader, if it helps improve South, North Korea relations

and resolve the nuclear issue.

. The purpose of the summit, however, shouldn't

be talks for the sake of talks.

. It can happen only if the conditions are right

and certain achievements are guaranteed."

.

While describing Pyongyang's Olympic participation as "very desirable," and that he will push

for even more talks and cooperation with the North...

Mr. Moon also made clear that his ultimate goal remains unblurred.

(Korean) "I stress once again.

. The denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula

is a process toward peace and a goal at the same time.

. The denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula,

which was declared by the two Koreas in the past, is our fundamental position that can

never be compromised."

.

Mr. Moon had advocated for greater engagement with Pyongyang to reduce tensions, but as

leader he has had to walk a delicate line between the United States and North Korea.

(STAND-UP) "But on this Wednesday... quelling concerns

that the latest overtures by North Korea could drive a wedge between Seoul and Washington,

South Korea's commander-in-chief made clear that his government did not differ with the

U.S. over how to respond to the threats posed by Pyongyang.

His warning: Pyongyang would face stronger sanctions if provocations continued or if

it failed to show sincerity in resolving the nuclear issue.

Moon Connyoung, Arirang News, the Blue House."
