Is Huma Abedin wearing an ankle monitor

By Jim Stone

This was spotted by people over at 4chan.

Id say it is probable, the ankle monitor (exact one below Huma) is the #1 most common

in the United States and does indeed match that outline in Humas pants.

When were bell bottom pants in style?

She may not be making a fashion statement with those.

The Event Chronicle Editors Note: John McCain and Hillary Clinton have both been

spotted with ankle-concealing devices recently, as well.

Coincidence or something more?

Facebook Is Hoping You'll Invite "Big Brother" into Your Home - Duration: 6:24.

Facebook Is Hoping Youll Invite Big Brother into Your Home

Facebook developing Portal gadget which will let it put microphones and cameras in

peoples homes

by Jasper Hamill

In George Orwells 1984, the oppressive rulers of Oceania use devices called telescreens

to closely monitor and repress citizens.

Now Facebook looks set to follow in the Partys footsteps by putting its own firms microphones

and cameras into peoples homes.

The social network is planning to release its first ever piece of consumer hardware

which will be called Portal and cost a whopping $499 (368), a website called Cheddar has

claimed.

The device will feature a 15inch screen, a wide-angle camera with facial recognition

and microphones to allow voice control.

Its expected to use facial recognition to allow people to log into their accounts

without having to type in passwords and will be dedicated to video chat.

The gadget has been designed by a shadowy Facebook department called Building 8 thats

also working on mind-reading technology.

Rather than position the device as a smart assistant akin to Amazons Echo speakers,

Facebook intends to pitch Portal as a way for families and friends to stay connected

through video chatting and other social features, the website wrote.

Facebook plans a formal product introduction in early May at its annual developer conference

and hopes to ship the device in the second half of 2018.

Apart from the potentially grave privacy implications of letting Facebooks cameras and microphones

into your home, theres another clear fault with the gadget: it costs almost as much as

an iPhone or iPad but probably does a lot less.

Although Facebook has not officially commented, Andrew Bosworth, the companys vice president

of augmented and virtual reality, wrote on Twitter: Cant comment on speculation

but can confirm its going to be an exciting year for AR/VR.

Building 8 is a top secret Facebook division which used to be headed up by Regina E. Dugan,

former boss of Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), which is dedicated to military

research.

Last year, Facebook admitted its own research wing was working on technology which can read

peoples minds at 100 words per minute.

Will Big Zucker end up watching us all?

EXCLUSIVE: Facebook Dives into Home Device Market with Video Chat Product Named Portal

Facebook is about to jump into the consumer hardware business in a big way with a video

chat device named Portal, which will put it in direct competition with Amazons

hugely popular line of Echo voice-controlled devices, Cheddar has learned.

The device is designed to work in the home and represents Facebooks first serious

foray into selling consumer hardware, people familiar with the matter said.

Rather than position the device as a smart assistant akin to Amazons Echo speakers,

Facebook intends to pitch Portal as a way for families and friends to stay connected

through video chatting and other social features.

Facebook plans a formal product introduction in early May at its annual developer conference

and hopes to ship the device in the second half of 2018.

Like Amazons screen-equipped Echo Show, Facebooks Portal is designed to work indoors

and be controlled through voice commands.

According to people familiar with Facebooks plans, Portal will be equipped with a wide-angle

lens that is capable of recognizing individual faces and associating them with their Facebook

accounts.

The worlds largest social network has been using facial recognition for years and recently

started notifying users if their faces appear in photos they arent tagged in.

Facebook also intends to let Portal access outside streaming services like Spotify and

Netflix.

The company recently signed sweeping music licensing deals with Sony/ATV and Universal

Music Group.

A Facebook spokesperson declined to comment for this story.

Portal will be the first product to emerge from Facebooks troubled consumer hardware

lab, Building 8.

Regina Dugan, the former Google and DARPA exec Facebook hired to lead the division,

suddenly departed last year after 18 months on the job.

Her exit came as numerous other high-level staffers left the division in 2017.

Veteran Facebook ad exec Andrew Bosworth was appointed last summer to lead all of the companys

hardware efforts, including its separate Oculus virtual reality business.

With Building 8, Facebook hopes to eventually sell a suite of consumer products that can

compete with offerings from the likes of Amazon, Google, and Apple.

Facebook employees have internally referred to the video chat device with the codename

Aloha but recently settled on the name Portal an indication that product development

has progressed even as theres been turnover in Building 8s upper ranks.

Facebook is currently planning to price Portal at $499 but could decide to lower the price

to further spur consumer adoption.

(Amazon, by contrast, sells the Echo Show for $230.)

CEO Mark Zuckerberg has told employees that he doesnt care if the device generates

profit but rather wants it to change user behavior and encourage phone-like usage among

owners.

Portal will be sold by Facebook through pop-up stores and online, people familiar with the

matter said.

Facebooks Oculus VR division is separately planning to release a cheaper standalone headset

called Oculus Go this year.

Romantic Character Archetypes by Pamela Jaye Smith - Duration: 4:48.

Film Courage: Are romantic comedies driven by plot or character?

Author Pamela Jaye Smith: As a genre that has three parts, the plot is just there.

You know, you get together, you get apart and then you get back together.

So I don't think it's so much plot that drives it as it is character.

That's where we find our interest is in the people and how diverse are they and how

opposite are they?

Or where are their similarities?

What is it that took them apart and how will they possibly get back together and who is

helping them do that and who is against them doing that?

So it's more about character I think in a romantic comedy because it's a genre and

it has its tropes and it has its steps if those aren't happening then you don't

have a romantic comedy.

So character is the most important thing and that's what you should be focusing on.

Film Courage: Let's talk about the character archetypes because you have as I was saying

earlier sort of the hero worshiper, you had the type-A ambitious one who doesn't have

time for a relationship, you might have sort of the hot girl that no guy is good enough

for, or similar with a male character and then the shy types.

What are some of the archetypes that we typically see in romantic comedies, either as the friend

or the protagonist?

Pamela Jaye Smith: Some of the typical archetypes and in the book I did [Pamela's book ROMANTIC

COMEDIES: These Films Can Save Your Love Life!], there's a whole section on each movie about

the lover types and indeed a lot of what you just mentioned.

There's the cynical person.

Now that's always a real good one.

Somebody who has been burned and disappointed in love.

So the cynic is a wonderful archetype and I like that definition that a cynic is just

a wounded romantic.

So seeing that character change and go through a character arc can be very satisfying to

us.

Also, the person who doesn't even realize they need love, the clueless.

Now that's different from being a cynic, but the clueless person is just "Oh no,

everything is fine.

Maybe I'm in a loveless relationship, but it's convenient.

It works."

So they need to be waked up.

So they're the archetype of the person who needs to be awakened, that just kind of "What?

Wow!

Oh!"

And then you've got another good one is the bossy person who is always right and always

in charge or always wants to be anyway.

And then the person who (and I think this is so well done) in DOWN WITH LOVE where you've

got Ewan McGregor as the type-A, confident, always in charge and you know he's running

the show.

And of course all of the women love him and he's got many, many, many girlfriends.

And then you have Renée Zellweger who is the formerly, mousy secretary who (I love

this and your writers I think will all just roll their eyes) she says "Well, you weren't

paying any attention to me and so I decided I was just going to go off and I was going

to write a book and so I did and then it became a best-seller (international) and then…"

I went to see it with some writers and we all went "Oh, is that how it's supposed

to work?

You just write something and it becomes an instant, international best-seller."

Okay!

So she was the person who was waking up, now she was waking herself up.

But bringing the two of them together made a really dynamic energy exchange in that film

DOWN WITH LOVE.

So the various archetypes, you can go from the disappointed in love to the still grieving.

In MUST LOVE DOGS, Christopher Plummer has a wonderful line and he's a father who is

a widower and he says "No, I know I've had the love of my life.

And there will never, ever be anyone to take her place.

But I'm just out there tap dancing as fast as I can having some fun and hoping I won't

notice all the time what I've lost."

I mean it's very sad but it's also very hopeful.

So many, many character types can play a part in a romantic comedy and by choosing different

types than what you would think, you can make a much more interesting story.

Today Is the 1 Year Anniversary of Trump Labeling CNN 'Fake News - Duration: 4:13.

Today Is the 1-Year Anniversary of Trump Labeling CNN Fake News

During his first major news conference as president-elect, Donald Trump co-opted a phrase

used against him, fake news, and slammed an entire news organization in the process.

Thursday marks the first anniversary of the raucous media conference at Trump Tower where

the former reality TV star lobbed one of his most memorable insults at CNNs White House

correspondent Jim Acosta.

Trump criticized a CNN report about the now-infamous dossier alleging collusion between the Trump

campaign and Russia.

CNNs report, Trump said during the briefing, alleged that Trumps lawyer Michael Cohen

had met with Russians in Prague during the campaign, but in fact he had never left the

country.

Sir, since youre attacking us, can you give us a question? Acosta said, but Trump

ignored him and called on another reporter.

Acosta continued to interrupt and Trump attempted to take questions from someone else.

No, Im not going to give you a question, Trump said.

Im not going to give you a question.

You are fake news.

Mr. President-elect, thats not appropriate, Acosta said as some around the room cheered

and applauded the put-down.

The dossier, which CNN reported on but did not publish, was released by BuzzFeed News

(which Trump called a steaming pile of garbage during the conference) in full

and has continued to plague both news agencies as none of its claims have been verified.

A year later, the White Houses battles with the media and particularly CNN have only

escalated, and the term fake news first coined to explain the dearth of hoax stories

that must have propelled a celebrity entertainer ahead of supposed front-runner former Secretary

of State Hillary Clinton became one of Trumps most effective cudgels against what

he considers biased reporting.

BuzzFeed news media editor Craig Silverman says he helped popularize the term fake news

years ago, well before Trump entered politics, but now cringes when he hears the term.

Silverman says he used the term to research fringe websites that wrote objectively false

stories to attract clicks and ad revenue, and that he never expected the term to become

so partisan.

After the 2016 election, shocked U.S. Democrats, looking for explanations, adopted the concept

as an easy answer to the puzzle of Donald Trumps election, Silverman wrote in

December.

And in response, Trump and his supporters saw the term as a threat and an insult and

a weapon.

Trump continues to use the term fake news to point out willful bias in reporting, and

CNN has repeatedly flubbed multiple high-profile stories about the White House.

The Trump team even has a pending award for the most egregious example of false and biased

reporting from a mainstream outlet.

The Fake News Awards were supposed to be announced Jan. 8, but were delayed to Jan. 17 because

of the unexpected interest.

The interest in, and importance of, these awards is far greater than anyone could have

anticipated! Trump tweeted Sunday.

Acosta took the occasion of the first anniversary of that initial news conference to thank people

who gave him kind words and praise his colleagues for their work, concluding with

the hashtag realnews.

BREAKING!! DOJ Found IT!! Clintons GOING DOWN As Indictments Handed out!! - Duration: 7:02.

BREAKING!!

DOJ Found IT!!

Clintons GOING DOWN As Indictments Handed out!!

And so it begins…In December, Attorney General Jeff Sessions ordered DOJ prosecutors to start

"interviewing FBI agents about evidence they uncovered in a criminal investigation

into a highly-controversial uranium deal that involves Bill and Hillary Clinton" and here

we go…

An 11-count indictment was handed out on Friday in connection to the famed Uranium-One deal,

the Russian bribery scheme involving former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the Obama

administration, Uranium One.

The charges are against 54-year-old Mark Lambert of Mount Airy, Maryland.

The founder and owner of Frederick's Dragon Distillery was indicted on charges related

to his alleged role in the bribery of a Russian atomic energy official to win government contracts

for the company he formerly co-owned.

Lambert, who owns Dragon Distillery in Frederick, is the former co-president, along with Daren

Condrey, of a Maryland-based nuclear fuel transportation company.

The company, referred to as Transportation Company A in the indictment, provided logistical

support for transporting nuclear materials in the United States and to foreign clients.

In the indictment unsealed Friday, prosecutors allege that Lambert concealed corrupt and

fraudulent payments with fake invoices, offshore bank accounts and shell companies in Latvia,

Cyprus, and Switzerland.

Lambert now faces 11 different charges including violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices

Act (FCPA) and wire fraud, according to a statement released by the U.S. Department

of Justice late on Friday.

The DOJ statement reads in part – "Mark Lambert, 54, of Mount Airy, Maryland, was

charged in an 11-count indictment with one count of conspiracy to violate the Foreign

Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and to commit wire fraud, seven counts of violating the

FCPA, two counts of wire fraud and one count of international promotion money laundering.

The charges stem from an alleged scheme to bribe Vadim Mikerin, a Russian official at

JSC Techsnabexport (TENEX), a subsidiary of Russia's State Atomic Energy Corporation

and the sole supplier and exporter of Russian Federation uranium and uranium enrichment

services to nuclear power companies worldwide, in order to secure contracts with TENEX.

The case against Lambert is assigned to U.S. District Court Judge Theodore D. Chuang of

the District of Maryland."

TENEX is the commercial sales arm for Russia's Rosatom, which took full control of Uranium

One in 2013.

The company supplies uranium and uranium enrichment services to international companies.

An October 2017 report reveals federal agents started collecting evidence in 2009 about

Russian officials that were engaged in bribery, kickbacks, extortion, and money laundering

connected to the Uranium One deal.

The report reads – Federal agents used a confidential U.S. witness

working inside the Russian nuclear industry to gather extensive financial records, make

secret recordings and intercept emails as early as 2009 that showed Moscow had compromised

an American uranium trucking firm with bribes and kickbacks in violation of the Foreign

Corrupt Practices Act, FBI and court documents show.

They also obtained an eyewitness account — backed by documents — indicating Russian nuclear

officials had routed millions of dollars to the U.S. designed to benefit former President

Bill Clinton's charitable foundation during the time Secretary of State Hillary Clinton

served on a government body that provided a favorable decision to Moscow…

Rather than bring immediate charges in 2010, however, the Department of Justice (DOJ) continued

investigating the matter for nearly four more years, essentially leaving the American public

and Congress in the dark about Russian nuclear corruption on U.S. soil during a period when

the Obama administration made two major decisions benefiting Putin's commercial nuclear ambitions.

According to the indictment from at least 2009 to October 2014, Lambert and other company

executives conspired to bribe Mikerin in order to secure contracts for transporting nuclear

fuel.

Lambert is accused of conspiring to make corrupt and fraudulent bribery and kickback payments

to offshore bank accounts associated with shell companies, at the direction of, and

for the benefit of Mikerin, in order to secure improper business advantages and obtain and

retain business with TENEX.

In exchange, Mikerin would help steer contracts to the transportation company.

The indictment goes on the describe how Lambert and others caused fake invoices to be prepared,

purportedly from TENEX to Transportation Corporation A, that described services that were never

provided, and then Lambert and others caused Transportation Corporation A to wire the corrupt

payments for those purported services to shell companies in Latvia, Cyprus, and Switzerland

in an effort to conceal the fraudulent payments for bribery to Mikerin.

Code language was used in emails to the Russian official at his personal email account with

words like "lucky figures," "LF," "lucky numbers," and "cake" to describe

the payments.

The indictment also alleges that Lambert and others caused Transportation Corporation A

to overbill TENEX by building the cost of the corrupt payments into their invoices,

and TENEX thus overpaid for Transportation Corporation A's services.

Prosecutors also believe that on Dec. 21, 2011, Mikerin sent Condrey an invoice purportedly

from TENEX requesting payment of $125,930.53 for services that were never provided to Transportation

Company A, according to the indictment.

On Dec. 22, 2011, Lambert allegedly authorized a wire transfer from the company's Maryland

bank account to a shell company bank account in Latvia for the same amount.

Investigators identified eight similar wire transfers from Transportation Company A to

the shell companies in Latvia and Switzerland made between 2011 and 2014 for amounts ranging

from $48,089 to more than $142,000, according to the indictment.

In June 2015, Condrey, Lambert's former co-president, pleaded guilty to conspiracy

to violate the FCPA and commit wire fraud, and Mikerin pleaded guilty to conspiracy to

commit money laundering involving violations of the FCPA.

Mikerin is currently serving a sentence of 48 months in prison and Condrey is awaiting

sentencing.

The indictment includes allegations against Lambert based on his role in effectuating

the criminal scheme with Condrey, Mikerin, and others.

Lambert's attorney, William M. Sullivan Jr. states of the 11-count indictment – "We

categorically reject the charges and are eager to dispute and defeat them in court."

Guys Try Drawing Vaginas - Duration: 3:28.

- And then you can open it,

and there's vagina stuff there.

(laughs) I don't wanna talk about it anymore.

(light music)

- My experience with vaginas has been

mostly just

sex

with them.

- So I'm gay, which means my experience

with female anatomy comes exclusively

from my one year of high school anatomy.

- In high school I was very scared of vaginas.

- I think I could get the general shape.

- And I don't know how well I know

the intricate vagina stuff.

- I don't really know what a proper vagina looks like,

much less how to draw one.

- Isn't a vagina just like an inverted penis or something?

I've never said vagina so many times in my life.

- All right, let's try and draw this.

- What is this!

- And draw another shape like this.

- Like something up here maybe.

- What the fuck?

- Something should go here.

This feels too blank for any type of genital.

(popping)

- I think the vaginal opening is in the middle.

(buzzing)

- That is where the penis goes for sex.

(bell ringing)

- Like this?

Nah it's never, I don't think it's ever that big.

If it is

that's cool too.

(popping)

- Labia majora (bell ringing)

- Labia majora (bell ringing)

- Is that labia majora?

That's the clitoris, right?

(buzzing)

(popping)

- That's these, these inner

lips. (bell ringing)

Is that right, the term?

- That's on the inside. (bell ringing)

That's the line I drew near the labia minora.

- Oh my fuck.

There's a labia minora?

What is this, Hanukkah?

(buzzing)

(popping)

- Then the clitoris

is this little man in the canoe up there.

(bell ringing)

- That's this one at the top.

Right? (bell ringing)

(popping)

- Wouldn't that be the vagina?

(buzzing)

- I think that's at the bottom.

(buzzing)

- We're just gonna say a little hole right here.

(bell ringing)

(popping)

- Mom's pubis. - Mons.

- I don't know if I wanna talk about

my mom's pubis right now, okay.

- Is that right? (buzzing)

(bell ringing)

(popping)

- Right there. (bell ringing)

- I think the anus is at the bottom.

(bell ringing)

- That's the anus. (bell ringing)

I got some stuff.

(light music)

Whoa, that's a graphic picture right there.

(laughing)

- Yes, I think the holes were misplaced.

- Oh my God, there's two flaps.

- The scale's a little off, this is a huge vagina.

- It's like you gotta open it up like,

like a lettuce.

- I feel like people are gonna say guys have no idea

what a vagina actually looks like.

- This has definitely changed the way

that I look at vaginas now.

I'm like,

I'm like kind of in awe.

- There's babies, there's orgasms.

Vaginas do a lot, we should respect that.

- Uh, good job vagina like,

good on you, you look cool.

You're an intricate organ and it's impressive.

- Vaginas are complicated, but they're important.

That's how we are all here,

so I guess it makes sense to learn more about them.

- Vagina, vagina, vagina, it's vagina man.

Okay, we've gotten past it, I can say vagina now.

It's out of my system.

Vagina.

Vagina.

Vagina, vagina.

(swooping) (creaking)

Vagina.

Dishonored || Review - Duration: 8:25.

hello this is Aaron with Yesterdays games and today we're going to be

talking about a game called Dishonored and we're gonna start right now

[ - If you're using these captions, I'd love to know - ]

[ - and if I can do anything better in regards to captions or other accessibility concerns, hit me up - ]

today we're gonna take a look at a game called Dishonored

that was released back in October 2012 and it has a sequel that came out recently

you take the role of Corvo Attano who's the disgraced bodyguard to the

Empress and i don't think it's spoiling too much to say that you are betrayed

and framed [repeat myself] for her death and you decide how to proceed in light of

that in an interesting take on a late 19th century London

now there's spoilers ahead which I know is a bit of an odd thing to say for a

game this old but going into it I didn't know anything about it and so if you

find yourself in that position - I would say skip ahead and go to the summary

otherwise onwards. so, choices. it's not quite as Skyrim level in its choices but

you play an existing character and you have a big role in how the story

progresses. your lethality or lack thereof will change the way certain

characters relate to you and what the eventual eventual outcome of the game is

and I really really liked that. in an interview with Kotaku, Raphael Colantonio

co-creative director and founder of arcane studio says "...and I made the

decision near the end of the project if you played very very darkly, you not only

killed to get to your goal but you also went out of your way to kill the maids

and everybody else then at the very end of the game Samuel Beechworth the old

man who's been driving your boat around he basically says I despise you for what

you become and he pulls out a flare gun and he fires it and he says that's why

I'm warning them that you're coming he betrays you... and we've got so much

pressure to cut that from the game everybody just wants to be told in a

videogame that you're great no matter what you do if you slaughter everybody

you killed the maids you killed the old people you kill the beggars you're great

here's the metal you're a hero we decided that sounds psychotic." and I love

the guts that it takes to do that to players

it emphasizes that yes you can play in any way that you want but that has

consequences just because you have all these ways to kill people doesn't mean

that you should and it really brings the world to life because it's it's not the

typical game universe applauding you rewarding you no matter what the

behavior is and when I first started my playthrough I had none of this context I

didn't know that there was this system in place and I I didn't know that any of

this how would happen so after breaking my way out of the prison on the first

level I killed my way through the guards which

I thought was no big deal you know you're an assassin it's that's what you

do and while escaping into the next level you passed your past by some

guards and there they're talking about how you've murdered your way through

them and that you must be guilty of killing the Empress because look how

easily you just killed through all these people you just you were recently

working with because you were the Lord Protector, the guardian, and how I mean

to be honest I didn't want that and I reloaded a save to start over

Corvo felt real, his situation felt realistic and honest to me

so how does it feel to be Corvo? Dishonored is a first-person shooter which with a very

natural feeling control and mechanics if you've played any in the last five years

to ten years you you'll know how this how it will play out and if you decide

that you do need to spill some blood then there's a myriad of ways to do so

but it also has solid stealth mechanics and there's a novel way that it has

to let you know if a guard has noticed you they've got a little

awareness thing around them

the city of Dunwall feels gritty dirty and believable

researching for this article I found that they'd based it off of an

18th - 19th century London / Edinburgh kind of setting and having lived near

Edinburgh myself I can attest to feel the cities being excellent

for me the fictional city of Dunwall evokes the feel you get winding through the

cramped closes of Edinburgh's Royal Mile

the choice system though

really makes the story come alive and even if the storyline isn't winning any

awards it feels like your choices matter and the characters respond to how you

choose to complete your missions

a later mission has you eliminating the two

Pendelton twins, and you're working for their brother Trevor, the one on your

side has obvious hesitations of killing his brothers but they

go along with it because they're major antagonists to the story and I won't

spoil the non-lethal solution but Trevor comes back to you in a later mission and

thanks you for not killing them in a heartfelt way basically "I know they're

evil but they're still my brothers and thank you for for not killing them" and I

was I was honestly able to connect with the characters and the way that I played

through the game because of this. I spent a lot of time re-loading saves to beat the

game with the non-lethal achievement and I was last working towards a "never been

detected and non-lethal no alarms raised" playthrough; it's left me in this strange

position that I'm actually a bit appalled if I kill anyone in the game

even though it's clearly there's been a lot of work put into, you know, the

methods for doing so

let's talk the technical stuff for a minute so

dishonored was released on October 9th in 2012 and it's still a pretty nice

looking game, the art style lends itself well to aging gracefully and my laptop

now is pretty decent but running the game on the integrated graphics which

are an Intel HD 4600

I can get playable frame-rates which were about 40+ FPS plus at 1366x768 so

everything else on the lowest settings and it's it definitely is not the

highest quality but it's always been for me about how the game

plays, the interaction with the characters, and the like; so having the

graphics be top-notch was not something that was that big of a deal for me

Dishonored is still very much worth it in my book if you can get playable frame-rates

on it so if you have an integrated graphics

that are newer than the one that I have they even have improved every year

drastically, so I think you're gonna be able to run Dishonored appreciably well

and in summary Dishonored is a compelling story with good gameplay

mechanics a low enough barrier of entry and price and system requirements that

it should be one of the single-player games you add to your collection

I went into it knowing precisely nothing about the game or the story and I would advise

anyone else in that position to jump in and enjoy the ride. I knew I grew to

really like Corvo and his struggle by the end of it and I hope you do too
