Good day, my name is Tinky Winky and...
sorry, my name is Lala...
shoot!
It's the background that is causing this!
Welcom! My name is Rejoh and today we are going to take a closer look at...
the Schuberth C3 Pro, as it is available at motozoom.com.
We are especially going to look at the features that are new...
in comparison to the old C3.
Namely, it has been changed in more than 20 different areas...
so very interesting to take a look at those.
This used to be the most silent and lightweight helmet on the market worldwide...
and they even improved that with this new version.
The noise has been reduced from 84 to 82 decibels...
and while that does not seem a lot...
in practise 82 decibels is a lot more silent than 84 decibels...
just see for yourself and take it riding.
The fitting of the C3 Pro is adjusted...
it is the same size as...
the old C3, with the difference that there is more space at the forehead...
because they left more space by using a heat welded lining inside...
I will show you that in a bit.
Furthermore it is important to notice that they moved the chin strap more forward...
than on the previous C3, where some people had the problem...
it was uncomfortable on their throat, especially when you have a more pronounced adam's apple.
That problem they solved luckily.
The chin curtain on the inside now is movable...
you can take it out and...
replace it more to the front, the back or of course in summertime...
take it out entirely.
That is a new feature too.
The chin curtain is important for the noise cancellation...
so if you take it out, you do get a bit more noise on the inside.
Another great feature is that you can get separate cheek pads...
so that you can switch the standard pads for thicker or thinner ones...
making it possible to fit the helmet to your personal needs.
It is suitable for riders wearing glasses...
since on the sides there is really soft material making that possible...
and there is a separate model for ladies, because women tend to have narrower jaws...
and more hair most of the times, well, more hair than me at least...
a ponytail maybe...
fits better in a ladies model.
That's all about the fitting.
The outer shell is made out of multi fiber...
which means that they have used fiberglass and organic fiber and mixed them...
to get a very strong, yet lightweight shell.
The outer shell has 2 different sizes...
so for smaller sizes, the shell is more compact...
if you compare it to this one...
a bigger shell versus a smaller one...
then you see that there is a big difference and the advantage is...
that if you have small size, you are not wearing a helmet that looks huge.
Well, what else is striking?
That of course is this spoiler.
You cannot find it on the old version.
This spoiler, in combination with these chin spoilers here...
that are placed on both sides of the chin...
make sure that the helmet is more stable...
at higher speeds, so 160 to 240 kilometers an hour (100 to 150 miles an hour).
On the German highway you can ride very fast...
and that is when the previous helmet lacked stability...
and this new helmet performs way better in that area.
Because of the front spoiler the down force...
has improved by 8 percent and that is quite a lot.
Alright, what other improvements are there?
The ventilation intake...
as you can see, has been changed completely...
it is flowing at lot more air into the helmet...
9 liters instead of 7 liters...
because there were complaints about the previous C3...
by people that live in warmer countries, about the lack of ventilation...
and now they solved that problem.
On top of that, they have changed...
the ventilation intake on the inside, in favour of noise reduction.
The chin ventilation is aimed better at the visor...
you can see it at the front: the previous C3 blew more wind in your face...
and with this one the wind blows against the visor and disappears again...
inside the helmet, so that the air will not hit the upper side of the visor...
but flows nicely through the inner shell and disappears.
Of course it has a pinlock visor.
This one does not have a pinlock in it, but it is ready for one...
when you buy it in the shop, the pinlock is already mounted.
You can change the visor very easily...
so if you for instance want to clean it, you can take it off in a matter of seconds...
instead of leaving it on and you can put it back in an instant.
There you go!
So much for the outside.
Then the interior, where the men and women of Schuberth...
have managed to to make improvements in terms of noise reduction.
The neck roll is lighter than the previous one...
here you can see the difference...
notice that it has more space around the neck...
this part here is broader...
plus this chin curtain here allows a good sealing...
so that noise cannot enter.
Reflective zones, so that you are visible from behind in the dark...
and this part here, this mesh part, which looks like a piece of neck roll...
but is not. It is the exhaust of the ventilation...
which is 60 percent more breathable than it was...
all those liters of air that come into the helmet here...
go out again here.
So that has been improved by 60 percent...
so that even more air flows through the helmet.
Well that was the neck roll.
Moreover the interior...
the lining is anti-allergenic...
anti-allergenic polymer material...
I will take it out.
This one. It feels super comfortable, the material...
very special polymer material...
that is anti-allergenic and dries out quickly...
which means that it stays fresh for a very long time.
Well, as you can see it has a 3D form, so it can stand on its own.
On the front side you can see two small flaps...
which you can fold...
to turn the ventilation on your forehead on or off...
so that in wintertime you can choose...
to turn it off, because it is too cold.
As you can see here, there are welded channels...
allowing ventilation to flow along your head...
so that is well thought of too.
There are no press studs on the front side...
a lot of helmets do have them...
which can cause pressure point on your forehead...
when you wear such a helmet all day.
That will not be a problem here.
Moving on to the cheek pads...
they are more difficult to change...
caused by the anti-roll off system...
I will try to show it to you...
I am going to take out the neck roll...
that you can replace by a bluetooth system...
and here you can clearly see the strap...
that belongs to the anti roll off system...
which is attached to the ratchet...
and which makes sure that during a collision the helmet stays on your head.
Schuberth is the only company using this system...
and in my opinion more companies should use it.
Anyway, on the backside the anti-roll off system is attached to the helmet...
which makes the chin strap more stable...
and the fit of the helmet too when you are going down.
As a result, the cheek pads are more difficult to detach...
it takes some fiddling around, but if it is rainy outside...
than you have something meaningful to do.
I will still try to get it out for you...
The cheek pads are made out of a much softer fabric than in the previous C3...
again, this is polymer material, which dries out fast and is anti-allergenic...
and which is available in thinner and thicker material as said before.
Another interesting part of this helmet is that you can see it is prepared for an intercom system...
as you can see there is a space here...
which is meant for the speaker...
which is adjustable to the position of your ears...
here you can see a cable...
which is a connector for the SRCS system...
the communication system that Schuberth offers...
which essentially is a Cardo Scala Rider G9...
or at least the technology...
and is incorporated into the neck roll...
you connect it to the cable...
because inside the helmet's shell there is an antenna incorporated of no less than 80 cm (30 inch)...
making the reach of the SRCS system, in comparison to the previous model...
improved from 300 meters (0.1 miles) to 1000 meters (0.6 miles)...
the reach of the intercom system I am referring to.
Furthermore the inside of the helmet...
I hope that you can see it clearly...
there clearly is a ventilation intake with different channels...
which actually cover the whole inside...
along the top of your head to the back side...
at the back side there is the exhaust through the mesh, which is in the neck roll.
The air is being sucked out.
An alternative to the SRCS communication system is...
Sena SC10U, which is made especially for Schuberth.
That one is incorporated into the sides too.
You could consider that one as an alternative.
Especially when your riding buddies do not have Cardo, but Sena...
then I would choose for the Sena.
This was the Schuberth C3 Pro in a nutshell.
It differs a lot from the old C3.
You maybe cannot tell at a first glance, but you will notice it on the inside.
I would advise to try it on...
