Hi, I'm Joni Eareckson Tada.

And whether you know it or not, you have it in you to worship in a huge way.

In fact, you are all about worship.

That's because human beings have worship built into them.

It's the way we are created by God. We were created to be worshipers.

The trouble is, just like Romans chapter 1 says, often we worship the wrong thing.

We worship the creature rather than the Creator.

We fashion our own idols and we worship them.

Don't believe me?

Well the definition of worship is: "to ascribe supreme value or worth to someone or something."

Maybe it's your boyfriend that you'll do absolutely anything for, or it could be your new iPad

to which you dedicate more time than let's say your children.

Like, how much time and attention do you really give your Candy Crush or Bejeweled app on your iPhone? Right?

If it's a lot, friend, you need to reset your "worship" settings.

Rather than be underwhelmed by God, get rid of your idols and be overwhelmed by Him.

Ask Him to open the eyes of your heart to His greatness and His glory and understand what He has done for us in Christ.

Idolatry they say is trusting people or possessions to do for you what only God can do for you.

So friend be satisfied, be satisfied in Jesus; after all, He's the One God wired you to worship.

Deportations from Warsaw to Treblinka resume - 1/18/1943 - Duration: 1:23.

Today in military history, 1943.

The Germans resumed deportation of Jews

from the Warsaw Ghetto to the concentration camp

at Treblinka.

The capital of Poland,

Warsaw,

was a city of 1.3 million inhabitants

before World War I.

After the Nazi invasion of 1939,

Warsaw suffered heavy air and artillery attacks,

which led to their surrender to German troops.

In 1940,

a German decree required all Jewish residents of Warsaw

to move into what was known as the Warsaw Ghetto,

an enclosed and closely guarded area

that was denied freedom or sufficient nutrition.

From July 22nd until September 12th, 1942,

German SS and police units carried out mass deportations

from the Warsaw Ghetto

to the Treblinka killing center,

deporting an estimated 265,000 Jews

and killing another 35,000 inside the ghetto.

In January 1943,

the deportations began again,

but this time the Jews resisted,

many using smuggled firearms and makeshift weapons.

The Germans returned fire,

killing approximately 600 Jews in the streets

and seizing another 5,000.

The Germans withdrew

in the face of the resistance,

but unfortunately they would return in the Spring in force.

Warsaw would not be liberated until January 17th, 1945,

but by then,

only about 11,500

of the 400,000 Jews held in the city

remained.

My name is Alsarah.

I am the lead singer of Alsarah & The Nubatones.

You are sitting here with Pan-African-Music.com

I think it's involved in my music in every way

actually because it's involved in me.

I was born Sudanese and I'm gonna die Sudanese

and so to me, everything I touch in between is an extension of Sudan.

I'm a part of the Sudanese diaspora and so I'm a part of the Sudan's story outside of Sudan.

But it's started there.

And the sounds of Sudan, with all their richness and variety

are a huge part of my early sonic memories.

In fact they make up a lot of my early memories,

and to me that's something you carry with you wherever you go like a skeleton.

Well I'm part of the Sudanese diaspora, I'm very much part of it.

I live in Brooklyn and it's very much my home.

I had a dream a few years ago that I could move back to Sudan

but I went back for a little while and I realize I don't think I can.

I'm too much New York at this point.

Cause you know I changed too much,

and Sudan changed too much.

You know people, [there's a] mistake a lot of us make in the diaspora is

we take the memory of home with us, frozen in that moment

and we forget that

home keeps on going and moving on, and growing and changing.

It doesn't need you, you know.

So it's Sudan, it's something else

and I wasn't a part of that process, necessarily.

I was part of another part of this process,

a branch on a tree of Sudan.

So I think of myself very much Sudanese but very much also as a New Yorker.

Do I see myself going home? I don't know.. probably…

I visit all the time, to be honest.

I go all the time but I don't really stay.

Is that gonna be it forever? Maybe.

But i feel like an immigrant now.

I feel like now it's part of my identity and I like it.

Privileged White people get to be "nomads" or "bohemians",

and us "ethnic" folks get to be immigrants

Sometimes I like to see a lot of other people as immigrants

just to remind them that they actually are immigrants.

I enjoy being a global child, I think of myself like that...

a global Brooklynite Sudanese person.

I think it's extremely useful for my work

as a professional musician.

Which I think it's a very different thing

than say "your work as a musician".

Because it allowed me to recognize

how i might be viewed in the music industry

as someone that was making music not in English.

Because there is this concept of

everything else is cultural and ethnic except for the West

as if the West grew out of a vacuum

without having a culture.

It was always a very...

It was an eye-opening experience,

Studying at the musicology

made me realize that all music

from Miley Cyrus

to all Gregorian chants…

everything have a culture that it comes out of it.

It's not created in a vacuum.

If you are in a place where your culture is not "the norm"

sometimes you need to explain it to people,

which can be annoying

but you do what you do.

What's up?

Today, in this vlog, I salute you from Abu Dhabi.

But no, I'm not here to show you the city,

because I've no time to such things,

because I'll go to have fun, like a kid, that I am,

in, perhaps, the most amazing theme park in the world,

because there it is the world's fastest roller coaster,

namely, at the Ferrari World!

I'll go also to a water park,

who is in top ten in the world!

I arrived here with the bus E101,

which I taked from the Ibn Battuta bus station,

and I went down at the main station located right in front of Al Wahda Mall.

The ticket cost 50 AED, two ways, and the ride take almost 2 hours.

Now, I must figure out, how to get from here to Ferrari World!

I'll see if I can get with a public bus or, if not, I'll take a cab.

And, I'ill come back immediately.

I bought the ticket,

right from the desk behind me, located near the entrance of the bus station.

It cost 10 AED,

and with the bus 195,

which I will take from that direction,

that is, from the left, as you come in,

I'll go to Yas Waterworld.

Let's go!

Behind me, you can see all sorts of people, who try to pick us up and take us to the Ferrari World.

A ride cost 70 AED.

In a car can go 4 or 5 people.

A ride with a cab cost 75 AED.

So you know, in case you don't want to wait for the bus.

I'm waiting for the bus for quite some time and he don't show up!

So, if you are more people and your in a hurry, you can take a cab.

After more than half an hour of waiting, finally, the bus 195, has arrived!

Now, the time is 11:13.

So, if you don't want to wait so much, you can go with the private taxi, where you can negotiate and obtain a price under 70 AED.

If you don't want to wait, of course.

Brothers, finally I've arrived at Yas Waterworld!

The first stop is at Ferrari World and the second stop is at Yas Waterworld.

The stations are close to each other.

The ride take almost 42 minutes,

now is 12:05 o'clock.

We are late!

If you come late to Abu Dhabi, you will arrive late here.

So, or wake up early and came here early, or take a cab here, I don't know...

I arrived here late, at 12!

because we wasted enough time!

This one, fast track, was also great,

or after I got out of Ferrari World, how long did it take to find the station bus,

I just want to tell you that I had an extraordinary day,

I had lot of fun.

I think that for a long time I did not had so much fun like today, well, actually, never!

This was it!

I have no energy left!

And now I'm going back to Dubai and I'll go to sleep!

I like to tow my human but they are much more attention to me for not that I shoot too much and hurt me

So I'm doing a lot of free running for muscle me naturally and calm me that I'm so excited !

I do not like to tow my human, he just has to run faster!

We do many Bike Joring, i I can be at my pace and he can go same speed than me

I do not pull it too much, I prefer it

He encourages me when I run and but never force me, sometimes I stop even in the race for wait friends dogs

but he does not scold me he prefers to see me take pleasure in the race with them

He respects my choice it is important

Sometimes I get on what is called a podium I don't really understand what it's used for

there is a ranking but I do not know what I mean, I'm just happy to have a good moment with my human

and to see many friends who live everywhere in France and I don't see often

The podium it means that you will have new dog food

Really ?! it's so cool!

we are like we see this sport, our humans pay attention to us and we respect

We are happy to share this
