Waching daily Jan 19 2018

Welcome back ladies and gentlemen.

Let's get to the core of our quest in persuit to make the perfect sushi.

Inbefore, I'd like to share a little tip with you.

Fill a small bowl with water and some salt.

It helps make the rice stick to your fingers less.

It basically negates its adhesiveness.

I can't tell you the exact chemical reactions, though.

But it unarguably helps.

Furthermore,

i can recommend cream cheese as a filling for your sushi.

It makes the whole thing a bit creamier

and thereby enhances the flavour.

We begin with the Nori-sheets.

Half a Nori-sheet, as you can see.

Put it onto the bamboo mat and add the rice.

Be a bit careful so it doesn't slip away.

The layer of rice should not be too thick.

Half a centimeter is plenty,

depending on how much you like,

If you want to make vegetarian sushi

you can use one centimeter as well.

I would recommend making the rice layer as thin as possible.

You should leave some room above and below

below just a few millimeters.

But above,

from your point of view below,

at least half to one centimeter.

Many instructions on the internet advise using half a centimeter.

I would advise using one centimeter, however,

because it´s easier for beginners

to role the maki, with that much rice content.

Now apply some water to your hands

to wash the rice away.

We can get to the fillings now.

Usually I start by applying the cream cheese,

but as I said you can make an individual filling.

But of course: The Wasabi preceeds the cream cheese.

Wasabi is hot spice,

if you didn´t know.

You shouldn´t use it so much, because of it´s spicyness.

It's also possible to season it afterwards,

in order to add some flavour inbeforehand.

Now put on the cream cheese as the first actual filling.

For that, use the power of a small spoon or just do it by hand.

You shouldn´t add too much cream cheese,

because through the pressure we apply to the maki role the cream cheese is going to be compacted.

As you can see, the cream should not reach the edge of the rice.

Next up: sesame seeds.

You can use the white or the black variety

or both.

Now we get to the main component of sushi, which is fish.

I will start by using THUNFISCH (tuna).

Is good, tastes good, everything good.

It´s also easy to cut.

So tuna is always recommendable for sushi.

Now we will start rolling.

As you can see,

regarding the technique:

four fingers on each side of the fish and the thumbs on top,

then role it.

Use your fingers to apply inward pressure.

Now, keep rolling forwards.

You remember leaving an edge of the nori-sheet empty.

That is now essential,

because you can now keep rolling

and the maki can easily stick together.

Dispose of leaking rice.

The maki role is complete.

*Maki rolling intensifies*

So,

is everyone enjoying themselves so far?

I know i sure am.

Pretty neat time lapse, gotta give it to Paul.

Look at that fish cutting extravaganza on the right.

Brings a tear to my eye (':

Having a proper sushi knife really helps.

You should get one if you're trying this for yourselves.

There we go, see ya later!

At this point, we're done with the maki sushi.

As you can see, i've made a third roll.

I would have liked to make even more

but i realized, that i haven't prepared enough rice, so that plan's out of the window.

We also have way too much fish.

That's why i would recommend always preparing twice the amount of rice, in relation to how much fish you will use.

In the next couple of minutes, i will show you how to make Nigiri.

Nigiri are technically a lot easier to make.

All you will need to make are bodies of rice,

on which you place the fish.

In order to make shaping the rice a bit easier

i have these Nigiri molds

Using these makes the whole proccess a lot more efficient.

Just put rice into the compartments.

Apply light pressure by hand.

Finally, using the lid of the mold, compress the rice tightly, so the Nigiri won't break easily in the long run.

Turn it around, open the container

And press out the rice blocks.

Done.

Now, all you have to do is put on the fish.

Beyond Today -- The Final Superpower - Duration: 28:27.

[Steve Myers] A new world superpower is on the rise.

It will continue to strengthen and challenge the United States and the world.

It will affect your life.

It's really not possible for the United States to continue indefinitely to be the

world's preeminent power.

Can you know what will happen?

Who is this coming superpower?

Could a dreaming king, a slave, and an ancient prophecy hold a key to understanding what's

on the horizon?

On this edition of Beyond Today, we'll answer those questions and more as we discuss, "The

Final Superpower!"

When you think of a world-dominant power, what comes to mind?

You may think of the United States.

But America is losing its grip as the world's superpower.

No matter where you live, a shift in the world's power structure will certainly affect you.

So it's important to understand what we mean when we refer to superpower status.

If you had to say what exactly a superpower is, how would you describe that?

> Yeah, one that just has—I would think—has great influence in the world and more or less

can do pretty much what it wants to do, without too much interference from other countries.

>> They'd have to have enough military force to impose their superpower or enough financial

force to impose that, one way or another.

So, I think anything that sort of meets those criteria, any country or group.

[Steve] No doubt the U.S. has the financial means and the military muscle to greatly influence

the world.

But that's already changing.

You don't have to look too far to realize that America is losing its supremacy.

Just consider her enormous debt—over 20 trillion dollars!

Now, if you divide that between every citizen, that would be over $62,000 for every man,

woman and child in the country.

No wonder that a coming dominant system will bring a massive power shift that will change

your whole perspective on government and authority.

Now, who will replace the United States as the world's global leader?

We'll see in just a moment, that surprisingly, the Bible has a lot to say about it.

People I spoke with had definite opinions:

Is there a nation in mind that you think could be the next world-dominate power?

> Everybody is vying to be that.

You know, everybody wants to be the top dog.

Probably Russia.

>> China, I would think maybe China.

Great Britain, definitely.

> But maybe somewhere more exotic, like Australia.

>> China.

And that's just because they're starting to become a U.S., slowly but surely.

I mean, they're already getting all of our work.

So…

> We thought it was going to be Japan in the 90s because of their economy.

And now everyone's saying, well, it's going to be China because of their economy,

but I don't know.

[Steve] But is it possible to know?

Is there a place we can look to find clues for the future of our world?

Now when we talk about a coming shift, this is not some simple change in government, some

minor political thing: This coming superpower will impact you and your family—how you

live, how you work and even if you'll survive.

Here's an odd thought for our modern mind to consider: Could an ancient Bible prophecy

have any impact?

Now, be careful not to think that world superpowers are just related to our modern world.

Dominant nations and kingdoms have risen and fallen throughout time.

But does God have anything to say about history and the future?

Some aren't so sure:

Do you think that the Bible could have any impact in predicting who the next superpower

might be?

> I think that would be a pretty far-stretched interpretation.

>> Not at all.

I don't necessarily know anything about the Bible either.

So, but I don't think so.

[Steve] Do you think there's any possibility that the Bible might have something to say

about the next superpower?

> No.

No.

[Steve] Now wait a minute.

Even though it may not seem that God's in the picture, He is—and more than you might

imagine.

He inspired His prophets to predict in advance—people, places, and events hundreds of years before

they occurred.

And those predictions came true.

God has recorded for us many examples throughout the Bible.

Do you believe prophecy will impact your life?

Do you think that the Bible could predict who the next superpower nation would be?

> Probably.

If I knew a lot about that.

I'm no help to you.

I tell you.

Yeah, I'm sure it does predict.

[Steve] Do you think it's possible that the Bible might predict the next superpower

nation?

> >There is a possibility.

I mean, I believe in the Bible, and I would like to think so.

However, I don't know the answer to that.

[Steve] If you believe in the Bible, you don't have to be unsure.

It is possible to know the answer.

It's in the Word of God, if you're willing to pay close attention to prophecy.

God tells us: "Remember the things I have done in the past.

For I alone am God!

I am God, and there is none like me.

Only I can tell you the future before it even happens…"

(Isaiah 46:9-10, NLT).

Now that's an amazing statement!

You see, God challenges all of us to count on Him, no matter what.

One reason we can trust Him?

Because He's made predictions.

He's made prophecies about nations and powers in the past and they came true, so we can

believe what He tells us about the things yet to come.

Now in the New Testament we're told "...we regard the words of the prophets as confirmed

beyond all doubt.

You're doing well by paying attention to their words.

Continue to pay attention..."

(2 Peter 1:19, GW).

So instead of doubt, you can have confidence in God and the biblical prophets if you're

willing to pay attention to what they say—even the predictions about governments, about nations

and rulers.

Do you think that the Bible could predict the next superpower?

> It probably already has.

I haven't really read it extensively to where I got to the point where I've seen

it for myself, or interpreted it, but I'm sure it's in there.

[Steve] Do you think that the Bible could predict who the next superpower nation might

be?

>> I'm sure if you read into the Bible and you wanted to find that answer there, you

could find that answer.

I think you could find almost anything you are really looking for in the Bible if you

dig deep enough.

[Steve] They're right!

It may be a surprise to many, but the answers are found in your Bible.

Don't you think it's time for you to dig a little deeper?

You can find the clues to the coming superpower and its impact on you.

Here's one example.

This is where God tells us how to dig deeper.

It's in Proverbs 2: "...if you take my words to heart and treasure my commands within

you, if you pay close attention to wisdom, and let your mind reach for understanding,

if indeed you call out for insight, if you ask aloud for understanding, if you search

for wisdom as if it were money and hunt for it as if it were hidden treasure, then you

will understand the fear of the Lord and you will find the knowledge of God.

The Lord gives wisdom.

From his mouth come knowledge and understanding" (Proverbs 2:1-6, GW).

So, let's take God's words to heart and reach for understanding for a moment.

We can actually recognize how the final, man-led superpower will affect you.

Now surprising as it may seem—a dreaming king, a slave boy, and an ancient prophecy

holds a key.

That key is found in the book of Daniel.

Now you're probably familiar with the story of Daniel in the lion's den.

It's that same Daniel.

Daniel was taken captive as a teenager—captured by the Babylonians.

Babylon was the dynasty of the day—a world ruling empire, dominated by a powerful dictator

by the name of King Nebuchadnezzar.

The king started having dreams that frightened him.

So in the book of Daniel, chapter 2, we're told that these dreams worried him so much,

that he couldn't even sleep.

He called in all the Babylonian magicians, the sorcerers, fortune tellers, his advisers,

to help explain to him what these dreams meant.

Now imagine the scene: They came all lined up before the great king and said "O great

king!

Tell us your dream and we'll interpret it."

Now Nebuchadnezzar didn't become the leader of that Babylonian superpower by being naive.

So, he told them: You're supposed to be the great men of mysterious magic and you

say you have a direct connection with the gods.

You should be able to tell me what I dreamed—and if you do, then I'll believe your interpretation.

Well, they couldn't do it.

This made the king so angry, so furious that he gave the order to execute all the advisers

in Babylon.

Now that command right there from the ultimate ruler of the world's superpower, well that

included Daniel and his companions, too.

Well, Daniel didn't know what the king had dreamed either.

So what could he do?

Well he and his friends prayed to God for mercy and understanding so he could know and

explain his mysterious dream.

We can begin to see that this isn't just some kiddie story from the Bible.

Imagine how strange it may have seemed to Daniel—and perhaps strange to you too—that

this event actually has something to do with your life—even today!

We'll get to that connection in just a moment.

Well God did answer their prayer and so not only did they know what the king dreamed,

but God also gave understanding about the meaning of the king's dream.

Daniel praised God saying: "You control human events—you give rulers their power

and take it away and you are the source of wisdom and knowledge" (Daniel 2:21, CEV).

Daniel knew that God is in charge.

He oversees rulers and superpowers of this world.

He understood that if it was true then, it's still true today.

The young captive then begins his report to the king.

Daniel tells Nebuchadnezzar that this is a special prophecy.

That God is revealing what will happen in the future.

Daniel explains that the king saw a vision of a huge, terrifying statue that was shimmering,

and gleaming brightly.

Its head was made of pure gold, its chest and arms were silver.

Its belly and thighs were bronze.

Its legs were made of iron, and its feet were a mixture of iron and clay (Daniel 2:31-33).

Now can you imagine the king's surprise when he heard exactly what he'd been dreaming

about?

No doubt, Daniel had his attention.

What could it mean to the king?

What does it mean for your life?

Daniel tells Nebuchadnezzar as the ruler of that superpower of the day: "You O king

have command, strength, and control.

"You are the head of gold" (Daniel 2:37-38).

So now it becomes clear that the different sections of the statue represent different

world ruling empires—different superpowers.

The silver, bronze, iron—all parts of the statue represent future dominant kingdoms

that were to come to power after Babylon.

Now this wasn't Daniel's idea; this dream was inspired by God; and God provided an amazing

preview of what was to come.

So today, we can look back in time, and determine which superpowers correspond to the different

sections of the statue—just as God said it would.

The gold head of Babylon ruled the Middle East for generations until mighty Persia conquered

them in one night.

The silver chest with two arms symbolized the empire of the Medes and the Persians.

History tells us that this silver empire was the superpower in the Middle East for about

two centuries.

Next, Alexander the Great and his great armies came up and swallowed up Persia.

The belly and thighs of bronze represented his Greco-Macedonian Empire.

He came like a flood, conquering the known world and the Greeks ruled for some 300 years.

Then we have the legs.

Those legs of iron represented the next superpower—the great kingdom of the Roman Empire.

The iron fist of the Roman legions united parts of Europe, the Middle East, and North

Africa.

Rome became the greatest empire the world had ever known up to that time.

I hope you'll look into what history records.

You don't have to be a history professor to recognize the past definitely records this

sequence of kingdoms.

A simple search will reveal all of these were superpowers of their day.

You see, God was right.

He was right about the past and that should make us realize that He's right about what's

to come.

Now we're getting closer to our era.

The pieces of the puzzle are falling into place for prophecy to potentially be fulfilled

in our lifetime.

God predicted that the Roman Empire would become divided and eventually become a mixture

compared to the feet of those toes of iron mixed with clay.

Now I'll have more about that in just a moment.

Because you may be wondering, "Well, where is America in the vision of the statue?"

After all, isn't the United States the most powerful nation that has ever existed?

So shouldn't America be in this prophecy of King Nebuchadnezzar's dream?

This prophecy in the book of Daniel is described in several ways.

We see that it is precisely accurate in describing the empires of Babylon, Persia, Greece, and

Rome.

But when it comes to America, it's not mentioned in that prophetic dream.

Here's why: The prophecy shows the succession of empires that followed one after another.

America was not an outgrowth of Rome.

Its origin was very different.

The kingdoms in the dream swallowed up and incorporated the characteristics of the earlier

empires that came before.

And that's also true of the end-time superpower to come.

Now if we examine the roots of America, Great Britain, the English-speaking peoples—they

come from a different sequence of events, one that isn't tied to the Roman Empire.

So this vision in the book of Daniel doesn't focus on the United States.

Now, there are many prophecies in the Bible that do tell specifically about America—but

we'll have to discuss that in another program.

Now even though America exports billions of dollars of machinery, technology, pharmaceuticals,

and even though she is now the world's largest producer of petroleum and natural gas hydrocarbons—this

prophecy shows, it won't last.

The Bible tells us that America's days are numbered and she'll greatly be impacted

by that coming powerful empire.

Do you think then that America is on the decline?

> Yeah, I would say so in some cases, yeah.

[Steve] Why do you think that is?

> Seems like there's a lot of turmoil in our government and such, and with some of

our overseas activities.

So, you know, I think that in the past it was a lot better and lately, yeah, we've

seen a bit of a decline.

>> I think all nations right now are struggling, so I don't believe the United States is

on the decline any more than any other nation.

Do I think they're falling behind?

No.

[Steve] Do you think it even matters?

Does it even matter who the next big nation will be?

> Yeah, I think it matters.

[Steve] Why do you think it would matter?

> Because it's going to determine what happens in the future.

[Steve] She's right, it will determine the future—not only for that one powerful nation—but

the impact will be felt around the entire world.

The Bible predicts that this end-time superpower will turn your world upside down.

Here's how: It will change the world's source of food and technology.

There will be a major shift in politics, in finances and in foreign policy.

So who will be affected?

Everyone!

Each of us will be affected—and not in a good way.

Now think about this: Amazingly, it has been predicted in the dream of King Nebuchadnezzar

recorded in your Bible.

Here's what the dream does tell us.

You'll want to listen carefully because this is critical:

We're down to that final world superpower of man's rule.

This last global force will be connected to the Roman Empire—like the toes, to the feet,

to the ankles, to the legs.

Now it might sound a little bit odd, but Daniel's prophecy reveals that the 4th kingdom—the

Roman Empire—will exist in some form, right up to the end of the age.

Wouldn't you like to find out more about this coming superpower?

Now you may wonder if it's even possible to identify where it will originate and what

type of government will it be?

Will it be a kingdom with savage, wild attributes like the one of the beasts that are described

in the book of Daniel?

Now some think there's a chance that new world government will bring hope and lasting

peace.

> It would be lovely, idealistic but lovely, if the United Nations or something like that

could really have some teeth and could say this is the way it's going to be, and we'll

all decide as one big democracy.

However, that's probably wishful thinking at least in this century.

[Steve] According to the Bible, that is wishful thinking.

But he's right in one way.

That coming government will really say this is the way.

This is what's going to happen.

It will really have some teeth, but ultimately, it's bite that will hurt.

Did you know that more of the details of this super-kingdom are found in the book of Revelation?

It's in chapter 13.

This coming powerhouse government is represented by an animal—not just any animal, but a

fierce beast.

It describes "a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns."

It's a beast because of its characteristics and actions.

Did you notice a connection to the book of Daniel?

The coming super empire has characteristics like those ancient kingdoms.

Now back then, what did Babylon, Persia, Greece, and Rome do in order to maintain command and

control?

Well like a wild beast, they all used their biting power to attack, to oppress and to

enslave.

That will be the nature of the approaching Beast power—that coming, global superpower.

Of course, this reminds us that in order to understand the forecast and vision in Revelation,

you've got to understand Daniel.

So in a moment, I'll tell you about a free study aid that will help you make the connection

between this Beast in Revelation and the 10 toes in Nebuchadnezzar's dream.

The Bible predicts that that dominating government will be an alliance—a federation of presidents

or kings—that voluntarily give their authority to a coming powerful political leader—the

Beast.

Now why would that happen?

Prosperity.

To find a solution to our world's problems, it's economic problems.

Now, does that sound far-fetched?

You don't have to look too far back in history to find a fairly recent example of this.

Adolf Hitler.

Did you know that he saw himself connected to the Holy Roman Empire and to the Caesars?

He called his rule the Third Reich—the third realm or empire.

Of course, back then, the Great Depression brought economic upheaval to Germany, to Europe

and to the world.

Hitler claimed to have the answer.

Now for a time, Germany roared back.

It had life with jobs, and wealth, and power but the final result: World War II.

Over 60 million people died.

Intense suffering.

Death camps.

The ruin brought about by Hitler's Germany with Mussolini's Italy was only a frightening

foretaste of what's to come.

It gives us a disturbing preview of the not too distant future.

The Word of God prophesies a destructive empire just ahead.

And it's represented by the 10 toes in King Nebuchadnezzar's vision.

In Revelation 13, the Bible also calls that coming world ruling kingdom "the Beast".

That coming Beast power will shock the world.

Scripture predicts that it will be a dominating empire.

It will bring America, Britain, and the English-speaking peoples of the world to their knees and dispense

tremendous suffering in horrifying ways.

It's a scary, fearful vision that will come to pass.

And as this man warned:

> I would advise everybody to get their house in order and get it done now, before it's

too late.

[Steve] That's good advice.

This next, last superpower of men, will become a terrible system that will affect you, your

household and the entire world, but only for a short time.

It's not all doom and gloom.

It is possible for you to have hope for the future.

Why?

Because King Nebuchadnezzar's dream didn't end with the image of gold, silver, bronze

and iron.

Let's go back to Daniel 2 and pick up the rest of the story in verse 34: "You watched

while a stone was cut out without hands, which struck the image on its feet of iron and clay,

and broke them in pieces...

And the stone that struck the image became a great mountain and filled the whole earth"

(Daniel 2:34-35).

We know that towering statue represented human government and corrupt rulers.

But God shows they will finally come to an end.

He says, "In the days of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which

shall never be destroyed... it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms,

and it shall stand forever" (Daniel 2:44).

That impending evil superpower will ultimately be destroyed by that stone.

And that stone represents Jesus Christ.

He will return and smash the governments of this world.

Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God will replace man's empires and all human governments—and

it will grow into a great mountain that will fill this whole world.

It will be real, a literal Kingdom that the returning Jesus Christ will set up on earth.

So, that nightmare of fear will turn into a dream come true.

Imagine God's Kingdom—right here on earth.

Have you ever wondered why we pray, "Thy kingdom come?"

Well that's one reason why.

It won't be just another superpower, but it will be the final great Kingdom.

And that's good news because in the end, Daniel's prophecy gives us hope.

And even though we face troubled times, you don't have to be overly concerned in your

mind or your heart.

You can have courage and you can have true hope if you base it on a right relationship

with God.

If you take it to heart and repent of your sins and grow closer to God right now—to

really get to know Him.

His Word compels us: "Knowing that one day all this will come to pass, think of what

sort of people you ought to be—how you should be living faithful and godly lives" (2 Peter

3:11, Voice).

God wants each of us to take advantage of the opportunity He gives us now—to understand

His plan, to keep His commandments and to truly love and honor Him in our lives.

Isn't it time to fully choose His way of life?

That's a choice that brings true happiness and joy, a real hope for the future.

5 Days of Calligraphy Hand Lettering | Try Living With Lucie | Refinery29 - Duration: 9:34.

I'm Lucie Fink and this week is

Hey guys!

It's Lucie.

What's up?

Before we get started please comment below with your five day challenge suggestions for me

and if you're new to our YouTube channel and you haven't subscribed yet, click right

here and subscribe now.

And I'm gonna wait until you do that before we move on.

K?

Thank you.

A whole bunch of you suggested on previous videos that I try five days of calligraphy

and I got weirdly excited by the topic, because it sort of reminded me of when I did

my bullet journaling episode, which is one of my favorite episodes ever.

For the past few days, I have been watching every video I could find on YouTube

that's about calligraphy.

And let me tell you there is a lot of information out there in the ether.

But the next five days are going to be my introductory journey into calligraphy,

hand- lettering, brush-lettering and more.

So let's get into it.

Okay, the basics.

Calligraphy is the art of producing decorative handwriting, and as I've learned it is incredibly complex.

I think of calligraphy as a discipline.

It's just like learning to play an instrument.

So you really need to practice and work hard at it if you really want to grow and develop the skill.

There are a whole bunch of traditional calligraphy styles.

Things like spenserian and copperplate and these are made with very specific formations

and strokes.

This video is not gonna be focused on those old school, traditional calligraphy styles,

even though I will be using some traditional tools.

Earlier today I went to the art store and got a calligraphy pen set and some special

calligraphy paper.

The pen set came with six nibs of different sizes and shapes.

Nibs are the pointed metal edges that you write with.

I got a pen holder, black ink, and a little bowl to pour the ink in.

I also had a couple of cotton pads near me because it's important to degrease the nibs before

you use them.

I used rubbing alcohol to do this.

And after I cleaned off my nibs I just dove right in and got started by practicing some

basic strokes.

It took a little while to get used to the strokes and to get the ink to actually come

out with the calligraphy pen.

You know your elbow needs to be involved when you're writing calligraphy.

You're not just your wrist, it's a whole sweeping motion of the arm.

And also the pen has to be at a certain angle to the paper.

You're not holding it upright like a normal ball pen.

But perhaps the most important thing about calligraphy is that your downstrokes are always thick

and your upstrokes are always thin.

If you're gonna take one thing away from this video—downstrokes thick, upstrokes thin.

Got it?

It actually took me until the very end of the practice sheet before I realized how the calligraphy

pen physically works.

And then I just felt kind of silly because if I just knew that ahead of time it would've

helped with the strokes.

When you put pressure on the nib at a certain angle, it opens up a little.

There are these two prongs called the tines and when they open up and there's ink in

the middle of it, it draws a double line, filling it in with ink, which is how you get

your thick stroke.

And then when you release the pressure the tines close which gives you that thin stoke going up.

But sometimes if you don't have enough ink on there or if it's not at the exact right

angle, your tines will separate and draw two lines, but it won't fill it in with ink.

I practiced today for 45 minutes, drawing different strokes and lines that I knew would

come in handy once I actually started creating letters and words.

By the end, I was really starting to get the hang of it.

Today I wanted to learn and break down the basics of writing different letters.

The simplest way to do this is to grab a ruler and draw four lines.

The second line down is called the waistline.

There's the baseline, the ascender line at the top, and the descender line at the bottom.

The space between the waistline and the baseline is known as the X-height, and that's the

height of all those small letters.

Letters like "a", "m", "n", and "o".

The letters that ascend up, to the ascender line, are letters like "d", "f", and "h".

And then there are descending letters that go down to that bottom line, and those are

letters like "p", "g", and "j".

Make sense?

I started out by using my nib and ink to write these letters, and I actually drew arrows on them

to show where the upstrokes are and where the downstrokes are.

But then I went to the art store and I discovered so many other types of pens and I realized

that the possibilities here are endless.

Just to show you some examples, here's a quick look at what those wavy lines look like with

a few different tools.

The Tombow Dual Brush Pen was my personal favorite because I feel like it gave me the

biggest contrast between those thick downstrokes and the thin upstrokes.

And the bottom two, the Bic Marking Marker and the Bic ball pen, even though they're

great pens, they're clearly not made for calligraphy because there's no visible difference

between the downstrokes and the upstrokes.

Now that I've tried out a few types of pens, I'm realizing that stylistically I really

like the brush pens and brush-lettering.

So today I'm focusing on using those brush pens and practicing different letters.

I wrote out the whole alphabet again, and I made those up and down arrows showing which

are upstrokes and which are downstrokes.

It's pretty amazing how many different styles of hand lettering there are and how many different

ways you can make the exact same letter.

And not only uppercase and lowercase letters, but when it comes to modern calligraphy you

can be really creative with how you make those letters and where you add in those decorative elements.

I think after about an hour today my muscle memory kicked in and I was really impressed

with myself watching my hand create these crazy twirly, swirly letters

that I've never been able to make before.

And I'm not trying to brag but that uppercase "D" was so fancy and so good.

When it comes to writing out these letters it's different than using a regular pen

where you're applying equal pressure to all parts of the letter, so it definitely takes

practice to get used to the feel of it.

Certain letters like "c" and "e" are really hard for me because you have to go

for that thin upstroke, to the thick downstroke, back to that thin upstroke, all in one fluid swoop

And after I wrote out the letters in black, I practiced them in different colors and I

even tried it with the water brush.

And I know I've said this word about 40 times already, but the key word here is practice.

After spending so much time yesterday working on individual letters, I decided that today

I was finally ready to put words together.

I think one of the toughest things to remember here, is that every single letter you create

needs has to have some sort of connection to the following letter.

So you're always sort of thinking one step ahead here and it definitely takes practice

to get this technique down.

Something that I thought was fun when I first started watching videos on this topic is that

you can fake calligraphy pretty easily.

I first wrote the word "joy" normally, using a few different brush pens, and then

I picked up my ballpoint pen and I wrote "joy",

and then I outlined the downstrokes with two lines and filled them in.

I did it again with the word "fake" and the key here is to just pick out those downstrokes

and give them a double line and then fill them in.

And honestly the word "fake" looked like real calligraphy.

And the term "modern calligraphy" means different things to different people but essentially

it's a little bit more flexible than traditional calligraphy and it lets you add your own creative

touch and variations.

One thing that's really fun and helps the word come out looking a little bit more whimsical,

is instead of using one standard baseline on the whole word,

you actually give each letter its own baseline.

It's definitely all about practice and I'm getting really addicted to practicing.

Earlier I lit a candle, and I just channeled my inner nib and ink, and I wrote what came to me.

Give this video a thumbs up if you're a Hamilton fan, too.

My cameraman, Andrew, who had been watching me this entire time asked me if he could have

a turn and that was proof that practice is necessary, because he hadn't practiced before

and he just didn't have it down.

Today I played around with color and blending, using the brush pens.

I think it's really easy to blend if you have a Tombow Colorless Blending Pen or a spray mister,

but I didn't have either of those today, so instead I just tested out a few

different blending techniques.

First I drew with the lighter color, and then I added a few darker tones into it.

But the second method was a lot smoother and basically I just got a plastic sheet,

you can use any nonporous surface, and I took a darker pen, got all the ink out onto it,

and then took a lighter pen and actually just soaked up that dark ink.

And that way when you start writing, it starts out dark but as the dark color fades,

you get back to the lighter color of the pen.

The second method was a lot smoother and I think it gave the word sort of an ombre effect.

The coolest part about this week for me is that all of my coworkers have been seeing

what I've made and one of my coworkers, Patricia, actually asked me if I would consider making her

"Will You Be My Bridesmaid?" cards for her wedding.

And I was touched that she asked me to be part of such a special occasion in her life.

And it was also great that I could put such a new skill to use, so quickly.

Since my bullet journaling episode, I've actually stopped using a bullet journal and

I switched over to a regular planner because I found it was difficult for me to keep creating

those weekly and monthly templates.

But now that I'm getting into calligraphy I'm thinking of starting my bullet journal

again and using it to practice my hand-lettering and also to create some trackers.

What do you think of that?

Comment below if you think that's a good idea and as always, lemme know what you wanna

see me try next time for five days at a time.

You have to stay behind the saddle

That was bad

Thanks, thanks!

Congratulations Elias!

The tire is repaired, we´re back

We start there

Jump up here, no hand landing

and drive on, that was it

Let´s start

That´s really difficult

Did he put his hands off in time?

Did you put off your hands in the air?

Ok, that was not bad. I´ll also make that.

Guys, I don´t have click pedals, have a look there

I´m using my flat pedals

Thanks!

I´ve also done a good no hand landing!

After an exact

analyzed replay

Both of us have tooked the hands off in the air

But Elias needed one try fewer

So, let´s go to the last challenge

The last challenge of today

Teleprompters - How To Use, Which To Choose - Beam Splitter Mirror Teleprompters - Duration: 5:44.

In this video, I am going to talk about teleprompters - what they are and why you might benefit

from using one, This video is the first in a series of videos about teleprompters, where

I will go into detail, about the different kinds of teleprompters and which one may be

best for you;, how to use a teleprompter and how to use the teleprompter software.

If you have any hesitation about being on video or can't think if what to say, this

series of videos is for you.

Over the years, I have used a teleprompter to work miracles, taking clients from dumbstruck

in front of the video camera, frozen like deer in the headlights, to commanding performances

of The Gettysburg Address at the click of a button.

The Gettysburg address is short and concise and I tell you Old Abe Lincoln would have

been proud of my clients' delivery of his classic!

Hi, name is Sue Ferreira, creator of Wisdom To Wealth Mastery, where I show you how to

take all the Wisdom you have up here in your head, brain dump, organise it and take your

wisdom to the world using video.

We are living at a time, where if you are in business, video is your most powerful marketing

tool.

It allows you to become known, liked and trusted, extend your reach, influence and income, build

relationships and a create a community of those who need your wisdom.

Remember the American Express advertising slogan, "Don't leave home without it"

- meaning your AMEX card - well today, I would say the same for video - Don't leave home

without it.

A few years ago, the idea of "don't leave home without video" was crazy - how could

I walk around creating video?

Until recently, the ability to broadcast video to the World was the domain of large expensive

TV Networks and studios full of expensive equipment.

One of those large expensive pieces of equipment was a teleprompter - a big teleprompter - one

like this.

These large teleprompters are still used in TV Studios, but today like everything else,

man's creativity has made teleprompters smaller and smaller.

A few years ago - this teleprompter behind me was magic, it was so small.

Today, a couple of years later, this is my teleprompter and I can even have a teleprompter

like this - just scrolling text on my smartphone.

So what exactly is a teleprompter - because without doubt, there is some confusion.

A "classical teleprompter" is a device that sits in front of your camera lens and

projects your script in front of the camera lens, so

you can read it - and this is crucially important and - so you can look directly into the camera

lens.

In other words, you make eye contact with the person who will be watching the video.

Is this important - hell yes.

Is this where confusion about what a teleprompter is hell yes!

A teleprompter historically has been the physical equipment which included software for the

text.

The software part of the teleprompter allows you to upload the text or bullet points and

gives you options to change the speed of the scrolling text, the size and colour of the

text and to mirror the text, if needed, which I will explain in a subsequent video.

Today, a smartphone or tablet/notepad can run only the teleprompter software, where

the physical teleprompter is not needed and this is where the confusion arises, as both

the software and the physical teleprompter are called teleprompters.

For these videos on teleprompters, I will split teleprompters into two types - those

where you look directly into the lens and make eye contact, with your video viewer and

those where the text and the lens are close to each other but you don't look directly

at the lens when reading your text.

In the next video in this series, I will show you how to use physical teleprompters, with

a mirror, where you look directly into the camera.

"Software" teleprompters for smartphones and ipad notepads, where you look slightly

to the side of the lens will be covered in later videos.

It will be great when we have a display screen, with the camera behind it, so we can always

be looking at our viewer and our video text.

Apple filed a patent back in 2009 for a camera lens to be positioned behind the display screen,

but so far, this technology hasn't appeared, but perhaps the face ID on the iPhone X is

the beginning of this technology.

Fingers crossed!

Aloo Fry Recipe | Potato Fry | Aloo Sukha Sabji | How to make Potato Curry | Aloo Curry Recipe - Duration: 2:52.

Hello Everyone..

Welcome to Priya's Kitchen..

Today I am going to share one simple recipe with potato, that is Aloo Fry

It goes excellent with the roti, chapathi and rice also

let's start the process

So for this Aloo fry, I cut the potatoes like this, into small cubes

And also we need this spice powder,

which I made from some dry red chilies and dry coconut and some garlic some roasted chana dal

add them into a blender and make a coarse powder like this

it gives very nice flavor to our fry

and I will show you the detailed recipe of this in one more video

heat 3 tablespoons of Oil in a pan, our oil is hot

add 1 teaspoon of mustard seeds

1 tablespoon of channa dal

and 1 tablespoon of urad dal

and 5 to 6 crushed garlic

fry them

now add our potatoes

add some salt

fry it

add half a teaspoon of turmeric powder, not too much

mix it

cover it

and cook the potatoes till they are nice and soft on medium flame

and occasionally mix them once or twice

so it's been 10 minutes, let's check our potatoes

I like my potato fry to be dry and crispy

should be like this

adjust the salt as per your liking

now add 1 tablespoon of our spicy powder

half a teaspoon of red chili powder

to give some extra spiciness, if you don't want you can skip it

mix it well

so our simple potato fry is ready to serve

Thank you for watching..

I hope you enjoyed today's session of making simple Aloo Fry

How to Pre-order and support my Upcoming EP! - Duration: 2:55.

hi everyone I hope you had a great start to the new year

firstly thank you so much to those of you that have pre-ordered my EP

and shared it to family and friends and just listen to it thank you so much

your support means everything thank you so much

Those of you that are a bit confused and not quite sure what to do and are interested in buying my music

and everything, this is what this video is about

I've had a few people questioning me not sure what to do

so here are a few things on how you can pre-order and listen to my music

Firstly the main one is iTunes, if you've

got an Apple device or an iTunes account then just go on to iTunes

and type in Moving On EP by Saloni, that is what counts towards

the iTunes chart position the most.

I mean I'm hoping to get on there

Pop charts is where I'm aiming for and the more buys I get the higher my chart

position will be so please do buy and pre-order and share them across

One thing I'd like to emphasize is that these pre-orders are what matter,

if you buy the EP after it's been released it won't count towards my child position as

much as pre-orders do so please do get on it now there's only about seven days

left and those of you who don't have iTunes then you can find my music on

google play, amazon and other music buying websites just type in Moving On EP Saloni

Another thing that counts towards my iTunes chart position is also

Spotify and the more listens I get the more followers the more monthly listeners

I get the higher up the chart position would be so please do go listen

share it to as many people as you can follow me and everything and

you just have to type in Moving On Saloni and i should come up

it would be so grateful if you could go and do that I mean it doesn't take too long

Another way you can support is also viewing on YouTube view my music videos

I'll put links down below as well and at the end of this video also you can just

type in Saloni Moving On EP and stuff should come up

yeah so the more views I get the higher I could be on the iTunes chart position as well

And I hope this video has cleared out most your doubts

If you're still confused and you can comment down below and I'll reply to everything and

I'll put links to all of these in the comment section or in the description below

and yeah thank you so much to everyone that has already done this and has carried on viewing

everything it really does help thank you so much and just 7 days left now yay

Thank You everyone!

President Trump Will Address The March For Life - Duration: 3:05.

President Trump Will Address The March For Life

The White House announced Wednesday that President Donald Trump will address this years March

for Life in Washington D.C. via live stream, according to Life Site News.

Trump will be the first sitting president to address the pro-life event via live streaming.

However, Life Site did note that other Republican presidents had provided pre-taped messages

during the march.

Were excited to announce that the President will become the first sitting president to

address the March for Life from the White House live via satellite, stated White

House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, according to Life Site.

This will take place from the Rose Garden, she added.

The President is committed to protecting the life of the unborn and he is excited to

be part of this historic event.

The annual pro-life rally marks the anniversary of the Supreme Court decision Roe V. Wade,

which legalized abortion in all 50 states.

Up to 100,000 demonstrators plan to meet in Washington D.C. according to WRC-TV.

People are reportedly planning to march up Constitution Avenue to the Supreme Court and

the Capitol.

Although a first for the event, it isnt entirely surprising that the president will

make a live appearance at the historic rally.

Trump has been a supporter of the pro-life cause throughout his campaign and the first

year of his presidency.

In addition to being a vocal adversary of Planned Parenthood, the president has advocated

for pro-life policies abroad, in addition to within the US, according to Life Site.

Trump also declared November 2017 National Adoption Month.

No child in America born or unborn is unwanted or unloved, stated Trump,

according to Life Site.

Trump has made similar history before when he became the first sitting president to address

the Family Research Councils Values Voters Summit in Washington.

Additional speakers at the 45th Annual March for Life include House Speaker Paul Ryan and

Pam Tebow, the mother of former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow, among many others.

You can view a full list of scheduled events here.
