Generally in winters lot of food items comes which people likes to relish
There are lot of recipes & dishes which are being liked to cooked and relish by all of us
There is such one recipe i.e "Gajar Ka Halwa"
Though it is very tasty but creates problem for those who want to reduce their weight
So today we'll understand that how can we make Low Calorie Gajar Ka Halwa
Generally Gajar Ka Halwa is made up with Khoya(Mava) and lot of Clarified Butter as well
But the Halwa recipe which I'm going to share with you, I'm using Double Toned Milk & least amount of fat
So let's have a look to how to make this recipe
To make Low Calorie Gajar Ka Halwa, here I've taken 1 Kg Carrot
I've thoroughly washed and grate it
1/2 Litre Double Toned Milk, Less Than 1 Cup of Sugar
Some Dry Fruits in which I've taken Finely Chopped Almonds, Cashew Nuts along with Raisins
1 tsp or 15 gm Clarified Butter, 5 Green Cardamoms (we'll grind them finely)
Now we'll take a pressure cooker and add Clarified Butter in it
Clarified Butter is melt, now we'll add Carrot and Sugar in it
Here we've added Carrot, now adding Sugar in it
Mix it well
Adding little bit of water, not much as in Carrot also releases their juices
After adding little bit of Water we'll cook this for 2 whistles
Till the time Carrots are cooking, here we've putting Milk in the pan so that it will start getting cooked
Keep stirring it in between
We've to heat up & cook the Milk for about 10-15 mins so that it reduces to its half
Adding Cardamom Powder in it
Don't add Cardamom skin that we'll use for decoration at the time of serving
After 10 mins, this is how the Milk looks and on other side Carrots are also cooked for 2 whistles
Turn off the flame of pressure cooker and let the Milk cook for some more time
Now adding Carrots in this Milk
See how beautiful it looks
Now we'll cook this for another 5 mins so that it turns thick
If you want you can add the dry fruits at this only
Or you can put the dry fruits for decoration at the time of serving
I'm putting the dry fruits at this stage
Mix it well
Let it cook for 5 mins
After cooking this for 10 mins, as you can see that its water is completely evaporated
Due to its fumes it looks blurred on screen
After 1-2 mins its ready for serving
Hot and delicious Low Calorie Gajar Halwa is ready
With this type of perpetration with 1 kg Carrot we've got 7 servings ready
It generally contains 500 calories but my recipe contains 150-200 calories only
Its not only tasty but it has lot of other nutrients which we get from this
Along with Protein, we get Vitamin A which is very good for eyes, also we get Vitamin C
We are getting Vitamin K, Calcium along with many other minerals including Iron in it
We are also getting some amount of Carbohydrate form this
So its a complete balanced and nourished food
So you must relish this dish in the winters but make sure you keep a check on the servings
As you've seen that a small bowl contains 180-200 calories
it doesn't mean that if it is low calorie then you can have it any amount
No, we've to keep this in mind that quantity should be minimum.
