Waching daily Jan 19 2018

Hi, this is Sunny from Evergreen Pattern School.

Lecture 205. we will learn how to draft Low Waist Skirt with Pleats.

As you look at this picture, there is no waist dart but yoke on front and back patterns.

Pleats under yoke on front pattern, and zipper on back pattern.

This style is low waist mini skirt.

Before to draft a pattern, please refer to the size chart on the book.

Eliminate waist dart since this style has no waist dart on both front and back pattern.

Let me shorten waist length from side.

From hip point, shorten 1/2" from waist-side point.

Shorten 1/4" from C.F. waist point.

Reshape waist line connecting these two points.

To do so, draw a straight line about 2" from this point we marked on C.F.,

then draw a curve line to finish it.

Mark for length.

Mark for the bottom opening size.

Then connect this point and waist-side point with curve line for making a beautiful side line.

Point on the middle of this line.

Shorten side length about 1/2" and blend the bottom line.

This line is a straight line.

From the new waist line, draw 1 1/2" parallel waist line for low waist skirt design.

This is done with drawing outline.

Then make 3 1/2" yoke line.

Mark several points at 3 1/2" from 1 1/2" low waist line, then connect with curve line.

Copy this temp. pattern to draft front and back pattern.

First, let's draft Back pattern.

Put seam.

waist 3/8", side 1/2", hem 1", and C.B. 1/2"

this time, we'll learn how to make seam for invisible zipper.

Zipper length is 5 1/2", mark for zipper notch.

And mark another 1 1/2" point.

Up to here, put 3/4" seam.

rest is 1/2" seam.

Different seam amount makes angular line, so curve line to finish it.

point on 1/2" from corner point of angular line, then curve line.

Next is Notches.

Zipper notch.

C.B. seam notch.

Let's cut the line.

Cut yoke line.

Add 1/2" at yoke line we cut for overlock sewing.

Place match notches to enable sew this yoke line first.

Write pattern information.

Write "Self-4" including facing inside of this pattern,

"Back yoke" for pattern name.

Style number and pattern size.

We put fusing on yoke so write "F-4, S/O".

Next, draft Front Pattern.

Front pattern also,

waist 3/8", side 1/2", hem 1", C.F. is fold line.

We cut yoke line and add 1/2" seam.

Finish yoke pattern with placing notches.

C.F. notch.

Match notches.

Write "Self-2", pattern name,

"Front yoke", style number, pattern size.

Next make pleats.

Mark points for placing pleats.

We put a point on 4 1/2",

and 5 1/2" on bottom line.

Then connect these points.

This part we will mark "A" for temporary,

another part is "B".

Let's separate these patterns.

Cut through slash line.

Separate two patterns and we'll add pleats amount as much as we want.

First, draw a guideline.

Copy A pattern on the guideline, add pleats amount, then copy B pattern on it.

For 2 1/2" Pleats,

add 10" which is 2 1/2" x 4.

Draw a parallel line 10" from A sloped line.

After this step,

Draw a fold line(dotted line) at 2 1/2", and draw solid line at 5".

Again,

Fold line(dotted line) at 2 1/2".

We will put notches on solid line.

After all steps, let's fold through the solid line to make pleats.

Place B pattern on the line.

Copy this pattern.

We copied A and B pattern.

Fold pleats line and cut waist line as it is,

for bottom line, cut after draw curve line.

This part needs to cut as folded.

Now we finish this pattern.

Next is notches.

Center notch.

Notch on solid lines.

Same place on the bottom line.

Fold notation.

Finish with writing pattern information.

Let's make this as ver.1 for front, then draft for ver.2 with this copy.

For ver.2, we will make this part with contrast fabric.

Change the dotted line(fold line) as Solid line.

Put notches before cutting.

Place notches to distinguish patterns.

Here will double notches.

Cut and add 1/2" seam.

Write pattern information.

Material, piece, pattern name.

This is ver.2.

Style number and pattern size.

Use this line as grainline.

Mark the arrows.

For contrast pattern, use different colored-pen.

"Contrast-2, Front/Middle" and style number.

Ver.2 is finished.

Let me show you all completed patterns.

These are Front ver.1, ver.2, and Front yoke pattern.

Back pattern and back yoke.

Be sure to match Front and Back pattern size and balance.

Don't forget to check all notches, pattern names and pattern pieces.

This is end of the lecture 205. Low waist skirt with pleats.

It was Sunny from Evergreen Pattern School. Thank you :)

गाजर का हलवा II GAJAR KA HALWA - LOW CALORIE CARROT HALWA RECIPE BY PRITI NATH GURU II - Duration: 4:28.

Hello everyone, my name is Priti Nath Guru

Generally in winters lot of food items comes which people likes to relish

There are lot of recipes & dishes which are being liked to cooked and relish by all of us

There is such one recipe i.e "Gajar Ka Halwa"

Though it is very tasty but creates problem for those who want to reduce their weight

So today we'll understand that how can we make Low Calorie Gajar Ka Halwa

Generally Gajar Ka Halwa is made up with Khoya(Mava) and lot of Clarified Butter as well

But the Halwa recipe which I'm going to share with you, I'm using Double Toned Milk & least amount of fat

So let's have a look to how to make this recipe

To make Low Calorie Gajar Ka Halwa, here I've taken 1 Kg Carrot

I've thoroughly washed and grate it

1/2 Litre Double Toned Milk, Less Than 1 Cup of Sugar

Some Dry Fruits in which I've taken Finely Chopped Almonds, Cashew Nuts along with Raisins

1 tsp or 15 gm Clarified Butter, 5 Green Cardamoms (we'll grind them finely)

Now we'll take a pressure cooker and add Clarified Butter in it

Clarified Butter is melt, now we'll add Carrot and Sugar in it

Here we've added Carrot, now adding Sugar in it

Mix it well

Adding little bit of water, not much as in Carrot also releases their juices

After adding little bit of Water we'll cook this for 2 whistles

Till the time Carrots are cooking, here we've putting Milk in the pan so that it will start getting cooked

Keep stirring it in between

We've to heat up & cook the Milk for about 10-15 mins so that it reduces to its half

Adding Cardamom Powder in it

Don't add Cardamom skin that we'll use for decoration at the time of serving

After 10 mins, this is how the Milk looks and on other side Carrots are also cooked for 2 whistles

Turn off the flame of pressure cooker and let the Milk cook for some more time

Now adding Carrots in this Milk

See how beautiful it looks

Now we'll cook this for another 5 mins so that it turns thick

If you want you can add the dry fruits at this only

Or you can put the dry fruits for decoration at the time of serving

I'm putting the dry fruits at this stage

Mix it well

Let it cook for 5 mins

After cooking this for 10 mins, as you can see that its water is completely evaporated

Due to its fumes it looks blurred on screen

After 1-2 mins its ready for serving

Hot and delicious Low Calorie Gajar Halwa is ready

With this type of perpetration with 1 kg Carrot we've got 7 servings ready

It generally contains 500 calories but my recipe contains 150-200 calories only

Its not only tasty but it has lot of other nutrients which we get from this

Along with Protein, we get Vitamin A which is very good for eyes, also we get Vitamin C

We are getting Vitamin K, Calcium along with many other minerals including Iron in it

We are also getting some amount of Carbohydrate form this

So its a complete balanced and nourished food

So you must relish this dish in the winters but make sure you keep a check on the servings

As you've seen that a small bowl contains 180-200 calories

it doesn't mean that if it is low calorie then you can have it any amount

No, we've to keep this in mind that quantity should be minimum.

I hope you'll like to relish this Low Calorie Gajar Halwa and be able to continue your weight reduction.

If you like the recipe and you find it tasty then do comment in the comment section below

What's Free To You? [Book Review] - Duration: 4:59.

What's free to you?

What's free to me? Same thing it is to you, you tell me.

(Laugh) It's just a feeling…it's just a feeling…

Hey!

So I read A State of Freedom by Neel Mukherjee and it's a book that takes place in India

and contemplates the feelings of displacement told in five independent parts, with some

overlapping going on in between.

"The paper money has disintegrated into wet confetti."

The book opens with a story of an ex-pat taking his son to see his homeland, but everything

and everyone seems so foreign, from the monuments to the traffic, to the beggars.

Then the next part,

There's the adult son who returns from London to his parent's home in Mumbai

or as his family still calls it, Bombay

and is putting together a book of culinary traditions with the help of the cooks and house servants, much to their chagrin

because he's blurring the lines between master and servant or us and them.

[What you doing baby? That's the white people job. We know you white but that's not your job no more. You with us baby, yeah.]

And we follow one servant's migration from her humble beginnings to her captivity and

her journey home, in what was the most engaging chapter for me because the writing was so

cohesive and so heartfelt.

After reading the synopsis, I thought this was going to be a book purely about immigration

in the general sense of moving from place to place or nationality to nationality, and

I guess in some ways it is, but it reads as a marginal experience.

Instead what I found in this book was a sense of mental immigration; it expanded my thinking

on the ideas we have about ourselves and whether we enslave ourselves or free ourselves to

the possibilities of our lives.

Can we migrate between the roles of servant and master, by evaluating who or what we serve

for whatever desired outcome be it money, companionship, or a sense of purpose?

Can we migrate between roles of compliance to roles of rebellion or resistance, by evaluating

how we respond to injustices in our communities?

The circumstances we're born into are no doubt difficult to change let alone escape,

but what the stories in this book suggests isn't so much how we change or escape these

physical boundaries, but that we can change our minds about who we are and who we become

in spite of them.

["Do you know me now?"]

This wasn't an easy read.

I thought the writing was hard to follow at times and had thoughts of DNFing it, especially

during the chapter of the vagrant and his bear.

I really wasn't fond of that chapter with its graphic detail of the bear being made

to dance with a rope through his nose, and even though the books' themes

were elucidated between this particular relationship.

I guess you can say I found it ...unbearable.

*laughing*

But when the story returned to the village where the house servant Milly was from, and

her friendship with Soni began to unfold, I was drawn back in like water to a rice grain.

It was really quite palpable this human need to be free, whether from the shackles of our

environment, or the shackles we fasten ourselves.

From the bear and the bear master, to the house servant Milly being held captive, the

effects of enslavement are manifold and the price for freedom is sometimes skin, and sometimes

just changing your mind.

"The paper money has disintegrated into wet confetti."

I really enjoyed the exploration of how we learn the mechanisms of enslavement whether

we're doing the enslaving or becoming enslaved.

And so I ended up going down this rabbit hole of thoughts on mental slavery… like people

who are enslaved to the idea, or the pursuit of money, and it's in human's nature to sacrifice

people or being good to people.

Or when you're enslaved to people, or the pursuit of people and companionship, it's

in human's nature to sacrifice all else, work, money, sense, and before you know it

you're incessantly checking his social media and scrolling through his likes on Twitter

ad nauseam.

[Ughhh]

But as human beings, can we truly achieve a state of freedom?

Is freedom a fleeting thing, a state of being, or just a concept?

Do we even really want freedom?

I know that freedom for me is when I don't have to do my hair, or when I'm lost in a book, or even when I'm dancing

because I'm just moving through my body, not stuck in my head thinking about how to get something or someone, or having

to run away from problems.

I can just…be.

So, what's free to you?

Let us know in the comments what freedom feels like, looks like, whatever "free" means

to you and if you think it's something that's achievable.

As always thanks for watching, until next time remember to read or be read.

I'll talk to you soon. Bye.

I'll tell you what freedom is to me...no fear!

I mean really no fear.

If I could have that, half of my life.

No fear.

Unbearable.

Where and When to find ants. - Duration: 9:02.

Greeting Youtube,

It's Ants Utah back again.

Today we are going to talk about a topic.

That is on every beginner's ant farmers list of things they want to know.

Where and when can I find ants?

Specifically, for me it was in Utah.

But before we get into that

I want to mention where I found all this information.

There will be links for these places in the descriptions below.

First Formiculture.com.

This is a forum community for people interested in ants.

They have a lot of information on how to take care of ants

and when you may be able to find them.

Next is AntWeb.com.

This website Is where I was able to find

the list of ants that have been reported in Utah,

and they have maps of the areas as well.

Then there are a few pages I like to mention.

One is Ant Keepers and Fans,

This page has a lot of people who love to talk about ants

and ant related topics.

Also, AntsCanada facebook page.

By someone who is well known in the ant world.

Both these pages are good for help and information.

Next is for those in Utah

looking to find local group also into keeping Ants;

Utah Ant Keepers.

This is a small group but if you are local to Utah

and you need help,

or ideas on where to find, what to do with your ants.

Their always willing to help out.

Now onto Where can I find queens?

Well if you watched the intro video I teased this in it.

With the help from Antweb.com.

This is a map of the State of Utah with

all the ant Genera's that have be found in it.

There is also color code for those genera's.

I tried to do this to help make it easier to know

what was in the area,

but it turned into a blob of color.

Another thing to take note of is the "!"

next to two of the names.

They stand as a symbol for the spices out of a Genera

that have been recently introduced to the state of Utah.

The whole genera of Hypoponera

with two subspecies was recently introduced to Utah.

Now a few things to think over

when looking at maps where ants have been found.

1 ) Ants do not follow boarders.

Just because there were found

and reported in a place

does not mean you cannot find them somewhere else.

But just because ants do not follow boarders

does not mean that we do not have to also.

When hunting for ants you need to know

the local, state, and federal laws

on transporting and catching live animals.

In the United States it is illegal to cross state lines

with a live queen ant.

Both by mailing and simply driving it yourself.

It is punishable by fines,

and up to a year in jail per offence.

So, don't do it.

2 ) These dots are first reports of locations.

Use this loosely to try and help you think of areas

near where you live that you may want to find ants.

While there are a lot of dots on this map

there are some areas that have little to no information.

Take the area around Ogden.

That is a populated area.

I am pretty sure you could find ants there,

but it doesn't have any reported.

The same for around Provo.

Let's take a closer look at this map

Now, I am going to go over each area in this map.

If you want more time please pause

the video to look it over.

Here we have North West Utah.

As you can see the majority of ants are

around Logan, Salt Lake City, Sandy, and north of Provo.

Again, the areas around Ogden have not been reported,

so unfortunately if you catch a queen in that area.

It is anyone's guess to what you found.

North east Utah. With Venal, Price, Provo, and Park City

which is not shown on the map.

Here is where you will find Formica in the forest areas.

On to Central Utah.

Again, we see Price and Moab.

Among many other areas where nests are clustered.

Southern Utah.

With cities like St. George, Springdale, Kanab, Bluff,

and Cedar City.

Also, the Grand Staircase, and Brice Canyon.

As you can see.

Ants are all over the state.

Now we come to. When can I find queens?

On Formiculture.com,

I found a list of nuptial flights times

for the South West U.S.

But first a few things to consider:

The weather.

The weather plays a big role in nuptial flights

and is different from southern Utah to northern.

This year we have had a milder winter.

Meaning that they ants may come out of hibernation

sooner than normal.

But don't forget that flights mostly happen

after rainstorms,.

So if it has been to dry and no rain.

You may not find a new queen walking around after flights.

There and 29 Genera's in the state of Utah

with almost 200 reported subspecies.

Remember this is not Pokémon

you do not have to collect them all.

One of the big things in Utah is Privet or Public lands.

Most lands in Utah are public parks,

so you can freely walk on them and look.

But, remember that animals

in public parks are protected.

So, check to see if you can collect

ants off the public grounds.

If you are looking for ants

on private property please ask first.

Also, when looking for ants,

please be respectful and mindful of the areas.

Don't leave trash

or move over big rocks while looking ants.

Never put more than one queen into the same container.

Even if you think

the species maybe polygyne.

It is better to be safe when hunting,

for ants and later find out later.

Then risk all your hard work.

Things you will need.

These are more things

to consider when hunter for Queens.

You are going to need something to hold

the queens that you find.

A lot of people tend to use whatever

they can to hold queens as they find them.

This is okay but remember to try and make

your new-found queens trip home a comfortable one.

Me I plan on using test tube soda bottles,

or old film canisters.

Do what you can to try and limit her stress

and try not to lever her in areas of direct sunlight

or high heat.

Have a good pair of walking shoes.

You may have to walk around a bit

to find queens sometimes.

Traveling the same route two or three times.

So, do your feet a favor and have on good shoes.

Next is Good eyes.

Anyone interested in ants know, ants are small.

Remember that most of your time will be

looking down on the ground searching for queens.

Remember to look up from time to time,

so you don't run into anyone.

Or in some part of the state of Utah, pull a wile e coyote.

Don't know who that is?

I am sure you can find videos Youtube about him.

Last is water.

It is always good to have a supply of water on hand.

Remember the Utah is mostly desert and dry,

and in the summer time hot.

Because of that it is good to make sure

you are hydrated.

Along with hats and sunscreen

to keep from getting sun burned.

On the pulse side, when you empty a water bottle

it can be used to hold a queen.

Just remember to try to

get all the water out of the bottle before putting her in.

So she won't drown.

Now what is the South West U.S.?

As of the last US census (2010)

the South West was changed

to only included Arizona, and New Mexico.

But can and sometimes still does include

California, Nevada, Colorado, and Utah.

Texas and Oklahoma are no longer

considered part of the South West.

That being said

these are the nuptial flights for the South West US.

As reported on the Formiculture.com.

It shows how many queens

were caught during each month.

The more caught.

The higher the number.

The higher the number the more likely it will be

that you could also find a queen during that month.

You will see that some names are on the flight list,

but are not on the side list of Utah names.

That means that so far none of those

have been found in Utah.

My recommendation would be to use both

Formiculture and Antweb

to help you know where and when to find queen ants.

I am going to let you read these and come back after.

♫ Frost Waltz ♫ plays

Thanks again to Formiculture.com for having this list.

Now that you know

when and where to find queen ants.

Good luck and happy hunting.

This is Ants Utah reminding you that:

Considerations for Dry Eyes, and Wearing Contact Lenses After Asian Eyelid Surgery - Duration: 7:04.

Thank you for

your question.

You submitted your question with two photos.

You stated in your question that it has been 1 month after you've had Asian eyelid surgery

using the suture technique and that you did some fat removal.

And you stated that you did have some dry eye before surgery.

And that you are noticing this mucus discharge every day particularly in the morning and

you wear soft contact lenses.

And so you're asking what is going on.

Well, in the absence of a physical exam, I can certainly share with you how I counsel

my patients operatively and post operatively particularly those who wear contact lenses.

A little bit of background, I'm a Board-certified cosmetic surgeon and Fellowship-trained oculofacial

plastic and reconstructive surgeon.

I have been in practice in Manhattan and Long Island for over 20 years.

Asian eyelid surgery is something I perform fairly routinely both incisional and non-incisional

as well as non-Asian eyelid surgery to help people improve their eye appearance whether

it's upper lid ptosis, extra skin or under eye bags.

And having an ophthalmology background certainly has worked to my advantage in guiding patients

who also have concurrently dry eyes.

So to begin with, it's very important to understand that even though you have a little

bit of dry eye before surgery, you are probably capable of producing enough tears to be able

to tolerate contact lenses which is a good thing.

One thing to understand is that it is not unusual to have some degree of dry eye after

eyelid surgery.

When you are working in the eye area, even though you may have no problem with eye closure

or anything dealing with exposure, it is typical to have some degree of decreased tear production

after eyelid surgery.

So I explain to my patients who already have dry eyes, if they're not contact lens wearers,

I tell them to use liberal amounts of artificial tears both before surgery and after.

And I tell them to use the artificial tear drops with meals that way it's easier to

remember, breakfast, lunch and dinner and then bedtime.

This way, at least they're getting drops to help lubricate the eyes.

Mucus production can be a reflection of that dryness and an increase in relative friction

between the eyelid and the contact lens and your body produces more mucus as a way to

help compensate for the dryness.

The other possibility that I'm sure your doctor should or if you haven't already checked

out is that when you do suture technique or non-incisional Asian eyelid surgery, it is

pretty much the norm to place a suture from the outside, flip the eyelid and pass it through

the surface that is over the eye and then pass the suture back.

Now what that means is that there could possibly be the relatively low risk of a suture exposure

but it is something that when you're doing this surgery, you pretty much make sure it

isn't the case.

Essentially, the technique of non-incisional Asian eyelid surgery, when you place the stitch

going through, you put the suture back into the same opening or basically the same area

such that it is unlikely, especially after the sutures are tied, it is very hard for

those sutures, unless they get exposed or unraveled, to actually ever touch the eyes.

So it's very rare.

But just to make sure, it's good to make sure to have your doctor check that out.

Generally speaking, if there was a suture that was touching the eye, you would feel

it and it would be extremely uncomfortable.

It seems more likely that this is just a reflection of relative dryness associated with eyelid

surgery and so my non-contact lens wearers, I tell them to use lubricating drops liberally.

Now for contact lenses, you would always need some type of drops that are specific for contact

lens wearers.

Otherwise, I would say that just periodically, depending on how you feel, you may want to

take a break from the contact lenses as for the tear production for your eyes goes back

to normal baseline.

So discuss this with doctor or discuss this as well as with your eye doctor to just make

sure you get the optimal lubricating regimen done so that you can really get the proper

lubrication of your eye surface.

And as the months go by, these symptoms should improve.

So I hope that was helpful, I wish you the best of luck and thank you for your question.

What is the difference between the Chaya PEARL and ONYX boot? - CHAYA SKATES TECH TALK | No.2 - Duration: 2:00.

What is the difference between the Chaya Pearl and the Chaya Onyx boots?

The Pearl is a carbon & basalt fiber shell and the Onyx is a carbon &

silver fiberglass shell. So like I said both are carbon-based, but there's that

extra bit of material in each one that is different and what you're going to

feel here is that in the silver, we have the stiff like shell technology at

the bottom, but you'll feel like a slight bit more flex around the heel, which for

some people is great. Where is with the Pearl boot, you have it more of like a

sturdier feel to this boot and it's just personal preference, so we've now

provided you with two fit options in our carbon boots. The next difference you're

going to see is that the uppers are slightly different cuts, so the Pearl is a

slightly higher cut, whereas the Onyx is lower cut. The Onyx also has a soft

collar, a flex collar here, which just allows more freedom of ankle movements

and also the uppers are softer in the Onyx. So basically the interior of the

boot, the lining of the Onyx is slightly thinner, which creates more flex in the upper

which again personal preference, based on what you prefer. The Onyx has a

cinch strap, just your average cinch strap, whereas is the Pearl has no

strap. And then finally just the look obviously is different as well. Again

personal preference. But as always, try both on, see what works for you. Yeah!
