Waching daily Jan 7 2018

Hi I'm Mike, and today we begin the process of finishing steers for eventual sale of beef

to our customers, also we take a look at the debate between grass fed and grain finished

beef , on Our Wyoming Life.

If this is your first time here please subscribe to become member of the ranch, we post videos

about ranching, farming, gardening, farmers market, ranch style cooking and whole lot

more, so just hit that subscribe button and the bell and make sure you don't miss a

thing.

I promised the kids that I would show you guys the new boots they got me for Christmas,

a lot of of you have asked about my boots and here is the scoop.

These new boots are from Ariat's farm and ranch line of boots, the only kind of boots

I wear, and I've tried lots of boots.

Almost every year I get a new pair of boots and now I only choose Ariat, they fit me right

and they last forever, and after wearing them all day, they are the only boots that I can

take off and not leave my feet aching.

Today, we have to get these brand-new boots dirty, as we start graining the steers, the

grass-fed steers.

But wait, cows can't be grass fed and grain fed, that doesn't make sense.

Marketing lately has us believing that there is grass fed beef and grain fed beef and the

differences between the two are astronomical, but is all the hype true?

What's the difference and is one better than the other?

I'll try to shed some light on the subject as head out to move some cows around, up until

now the older steers, the younger steer calves, and the replacement heifers have all been

living together in one corral, but now its time to separate off the older steers so that

we can start finishing them.

To get beef from the pasture to your plate, cattle undergo a finishing process and since

World War I, calves have been sold and sent to feedlots to be finished to ideal slaughter

size and weight.

Here on the ranch we keep a few steers back each year to do just that on a much smaller

scale, ending up with a richer flavor beef and more tenderness associated with grain

finished beef.

You can't start talking about finishing beef without getting into the grass fed or

grain finished beef debate.

In reality, all cattle, are grazed on pasture at some point in their lives and are grass

fed.

Meat labeled as grass fed beef means that it has only eaten grass or hay from the time

it was weaned from its mom, grass fed beef is usually more expensive because it is done

on a smaller scale and there has been a lot of debate over which type of beef, grass fed

or grain fed, is more nutritious.

Grass fed beef has more omega -3 fatty acids, while grain fed beef has more oleic acid with

less saturated and trans fats.

Both types of fats are considered good fats and a study from Texas A&M found that the

impact of eating both kinds of meat on cholesterol is the same if the fat content of the meat

is similar.

Many sources have also noted that grass fed beef contains more Vitamin A&E than grain

fed beef, but in reality, neither type provides enough of this vitamin to really make a difference

in your diet, you'd be much better to eat a carrot.

The final component that has been discussed is Antioxidants and Beta carotene, which grass

fed beef has been shown to be higher in these components, again though, not enough, you'd

get more of antioxidants and beta carotene from eating carrots, greens and blueberries.

Much to Erin's delight and stimulating her sales from farmers market.

So, all beef provides a nutrient rich protein, providing your body with a critical resource.

Research suggests, that higher protein intakes may be good for your health, can help with

weight management, preventing osteoporosis and reducing your risk for cardiovascular

disease.

The big difference between grass fed and grain fed beef is based on your taste or the price,

that's it.

No matter what meat you eat, you can be confident that your food is safe, nutritious and a healthful

choice for you and your family.

I know there are going to be people that ask why we don't just grass feed our beef, its

a lot easier, you don't have to feed them grain everyday and track their intake and

you can charge more money for it.

Here on the ranch we take pride in giving our customers the best product that we can

produce and grain finishing provides the flavor and the marbling that will produce a higher

quality cut of meat.

Marbling is intramuscular fat and as meat cooks fat melts, making the cut of meat tender

and moist and infuses it with meat flavor.

As you can imagine, its difficult to get fat by eating grass, which is why you've probably

never seen a grass-fed beef that was graded prime, despite the fact that grass fed beef

is more expensive.

Feeding our steers grain produces exactly the kind of beef that we wish to sell and

the process starts right here in the corrals.

We have seven steers in this corral, each one weighs between 800-900 lbs and up until

now they have been given hay to eat daily along with a taste of grain every few days.

Beginning today, their diet will be stepped up and after they are separated they will

begin getting an increasing amount of grain per day, starting at just a few pounds apiece

and over the next 60 days that ration will be increases slowly until they are enjoying

almost 30lbs of grain each per day.

All this grain will cause them to gain weight, and produce that marbling we talked about

earlier.

Sorting them off is easy enough, hopefully.

We just need to keep them in one corral while we move the rest of the calves into another

corral.

Slow and steady wins the race here as we practice low stress cattle handling techniques and

let the cows take the lead, moving themselves to an environment that they feel more comfortable

in.

Years ago when we first came to the ranch, it might have taken me an hour to sort these

cows, but the more you work with cattle, the more you become in sync with them, you get

used to the way they move and their body language.

And when dealing with animal that weighs 4 times more than me, I'm going to let them

make the rules.

No rush and no pressure.

Eventually, we get them sorted off and moved back into their own new corral, where they

have hay and water waiting for them, along with their first taste of extravagance in

their new life.

Corn, Oats and Barley, a combination we call COB.

Finishing our own beef allows us to know exactly what goes into each steer, we use no antibiotics

and no growth hormones.

They receive all-natural food and are raised with enough room to move around and be comfortable.

They have shelter from the weather and always have clean fresh water available to them.

We respect all of our animals, because without them, there is no ranch.

The grass-fed vs grain fed beef debate I'm sure will continue, probably long after any

of us have the teeth to chew through a steak anyway, but the truth is that some people

prefer grass fed and some prefer grain fed.

For me it all comes down to taste, I've tried both and grain fed beef provides the

tenderness and the flavor that I have grown to love.

There's also something to be said about raising your own food.

Whether it's a carrot, an orange or steak, and if you can't raise it yourself, do me

a favor and visit your local farmers market, support those that do raise your food.

Talk to a farmer or a rancher and learn exactly what goes into it, we can all look at a chicken

mcnugget and pretend we don't know what it is, because it tastes so good, but you

can know what you are eating, and get it from the growers mouth, not the food….That would

be weird, like a baby bird thing.

You know what I mean.

Come back later this week as we try to tackle the project list again on Tuesday and I'm

inviting you personally to come join Erin and me Thursday night at 7pm mountain time

for a live stream right here on YouTube, where we will be answering questions from you and

throwing in our own two cents as well.

Please subscribe and comment, find us on Facebook for content you cant find any where else and

if you have already subscribed, thank you very much for becoming part of our ranch.

Have a great week, and thanks for joining us in our Wyoming life.

But what I need at least is a big shout like:

HEY!

And an applause: Yeah, wow!

Oh yeah!

And at the end of this video you can see the results of what I just did

In one of the first edits I made for this project

You don't need to be a patron on patreon.com to send a cheer and an applause

But if you are on patreon and you are a patron you can do some more:

You can send a complete performance

and I will take the best pieces out of it

The best cheers

Applause

Dances and singing of course

You can even come to this studio and I will record your video here and edit it as well

The first dead line in 2018 is on Januari 31st

Then we can mix the audio for our first production from the album

And now I show the the first result of a edit I did

to give an idea how this music video can look and sound

But the only thing that's missing,

Is your performance

7 Eye Exercises To Improve Your Eyesight | How To Improve Eyesight Naturally At Home - Remedies One - Duration: 5:04.

have you ever thought of exercising your eyes never thought of it before

and even the brain today's video will discuss top 7 eye exercises to improve

your eyesight before you watch this video please take a moment to subscribe

our youtube channel by clicking the subscribe button then tap the bell icon

so you will be the first to know when we post new videos daily we never really

give a second thought to the eyes forget going to the gym or swimming pool your

eyes also need a time and place for exercise top 7 simple eye exercises 1

the eye roll most simple to do this I exercise needs you to be comfortably

seated it needs just 2 minutes to do keep your eyes open and roll your eyes

first clockwise and then anti-clockwise do it slowly trying to stretch the eyes

as far as they can go this exercise when done for about 2 to 3 minutes will make

your eyes feel relaxed and able to focus much better to the rubdown this is a

personal favorite for overstrained eyes you can do this even while wearing

contact lenses that means this exercise can be done at any time and place

whenever you feel eye strain and need a quick refreshing exercise to do it

sitters stand comfortably and briskly rub your palms together until they feel

warm now place the balls of the Potters over your closed eyelids and imagine the

warmth seeping into your eyes remember not to press down with the palms on your

eyeballs repeat 3 to 5 times and get back to work 3 the moving finger this

exercise is great for working out the eye muscles and is even prescribed by

doctors for people suffering from poor eye muscles to do this I muscle

exercises you need to be seated and relaxed

now place your upward pointing index finger or thumb or a pencil in front of

your nose and focus both eyes on its tip without taking your eyes off the finger

move it to head slowly until it reaches an arm's length away from the face next

bring the finger close to the nose again without once moving your eyes away from

it repeat three to four times for shifting focus another easy one to do in

case of eye strain and poor eye muscle strength this one is also prescribed by

eye doctors you can do this after working at a PC screen for more than 30

minutes to do it first focus for about 5 seconds on an object very close to you

for example your pen stand next shift your focus to a distant object for about

5 seconds for example the traffic light visible

outside your office window this intermittent shifting gives strength to

the eye muscles and refreshes them too initially you might find shifting your

focus pretty hard as your eye muscles may have become lazy and lacks as you

continue doing this day after day you will find it much easier to do 5 hot and

cold compresses this can be a great end to a hard day at work to prepare for it

take a bowl of hot water and another of cold water dip and lightly squeeze one

hand towel or washcloth in each bowl first place the hot compress onto your

eyes and eyebrows feel the warmth and savor it for about 5 seconds and switch

to the cold compress for another 5 seconds repeat at least 5 times 6 i

massaged this exercise for eyes is beneficial to reduce eye strain and

dryness of the eyes at any time of the day tilt your head back with your

fingers gently rub the eyelids in a circular motion for about 30 seconds

keep the eyes closed for another 30 seconds after this instant massage and

you are ready to get back to work remember to keep your touch very gentle

as hard rubbing can cause eye injuries especially if you wear contact lenses

seven the I press having a bad stressful day at work here's one exercise for eye

strain that will soothe your eyes and your stress to all this in a jiffy sit

comfortably close your eyes and take a deep breath now place three fingers on

both eyelids and press very lightly for about 10 seconds release the pressure

for about two seconds and press slightly again repeat five times when you are

done your eyes will gain a new spurt and freshness how you improve your eyesight

'90s Movies LaserDisc Nostalgia Haul! - Duration: 8:50.

Hello and welcome to Griddy Films. Today, I'm gonna do something a little bit

different as I wanted to bring in 2018 with some nostalgia. So, I don't know how

many of you remember laserdiscs but my family had a modest collection growing

up. wWe thought it was pretty cool. For any of you who don't know what laserdiscs

are, they were kind of the forgotten middle child of media. You have the VHSs and

laserdiscs and the DVDs. They look like this. Most movies came on two

double-sided discs which means you had to get up about two or three times per

movie just to flip the disc over. This one had two discs with three sides and there

were chapter numbers. We thought this was pretty cool and far more advanced

than VHS. The quality was better but it didn't take long for DVDs to come around

and quickly replace these relics of the past. So, this was the first one I grabbed

out in the collection. I do remember for a while of our

family's answering machine had the Mission Impossible theme playing with

some corny, punny message. I don't remember what it said but that was our

family answering machine for quite a while after this movie came out.

That's probably my most prominent memory of this movie. The next movie I grabbed is

gonna be the Saint. I did not see this movie and I still have not. I don't know

anything about it. The next movies gonna be Time Cop. I have

never seen this movie but judging by the back I really kind of want to. Takes

place in 2004, time travel's real. Yeah, it looks kind of awesome. Very campy. All

right, now a Mel Gibson classic, The Man Without a Face. I have not seen this

one. That's about all I have to say. I really don't know don't know anything

about this one. Ah, now here's a classic. I definitely remember this one. I do

remember seeing Titanic multiple times and of course I was 11 so I went through

a pretty big Leonardo DiCaprio phase after that and watched as many of his

movies as I could find, this being one of them. A lot of people think this movie is

stupid but from the times I've seen it as an adult, I think it holds up.

I still really like it. That said, I haven't seen it in at least 10 years,

possibly even when it was on this laserdisc. It's been a while. But it's a

good one and I look forward to buying it on blu-ray soon so that I can review it.

So, this one has three sides and this one actually has some special features which

I did not realize laserdiscs did. There's an audio commentary on here and a couple

of featurettes, it looks like. That's pretty cool. I'm assuming it's the same

ones the DVD and blu-rays have, but you never know, maybe there's some hidden

treasures here. So, yeah, this one's definitely gonna be the first one to go

in a frame, I think. Yeah, good movie, right here. Good find.

Top Gun. Apparently my parents liked Tom Cruise a lot. Iguess most of America

did. I've actually never seen Top Gun. my only nostalgic association with this

movie is gonna be from the Top Gun ride at Paramount's Great America which is now

Six Flags Great America and the ride is called something else. So, yeah. That's

really my only association with this movie.

Another classic: Remains of the Day. And another classic I have yet to see.

Doesn't really look like my kind of movie but I hear it's good. That's really

all I have to say about it. Let's see what's on the inside. Oh, this one doesn't

open up, just has two shoved in there. Alright. Remains of the Day. Another '90s

action classic, The Fugitive with Harrison Ford. I've actually never seen

this one. I've seen enough references to it to feel like I have but I have

never seen The Fugitive. Should I? Let me know. Ah, now here is a classic that I

definitely remember. The pagemaster with Macaulay Culkin and Christopher Lloyd. I

watched this movie so many times as a kid. Oh, and Leonard Nimoy's a voice. I didn't even

know who that was, that's how little I was when I last watched this movie.

Oh, and Ed Begley Jr. Patrick Stewart! Okay, now I have to--and Whoopi Goldberg! I just got excited

like a little kid all over again even though, from what I recall, this movie

is awful. How Did This Get Made did an episode on it and it was nostalgic and

amazing. My family went to the video store, some small little local video

store that had laserdiscs, almost every weekend we would go and the whole family, we

would all pick out a movie and spend the weekend watching movies.

It was great but I definitely remember every week for quite a while picking the

Pagemaster until we finally bought it. Judging by the barcodes, I'm kind of

guessing we bought this used from a video store, Oh, yeah, Arden Town Video,

look at that. So, that's my memories with this movie. I may

have to borrow my parents' laserdisc player just to rewatch this because this looks

amazing. Another Arden Town Video, It Could Happen to You, with

Nicolas Cage. Classic that I have never seen. I actually haven't seen a lot of

Nicolas Cage movies and I should see more for multiple reasons so if you

have any suggestions, let me know. Wow, there's a lot of text on the back of this. Not much I

to say about this one, though, other than I need to watch more Nicolas Cage

movies. It's another Van Damme movie. Yeah, I'm gonna have to ask my parents about

some of these movies. This is a random. eclectic collection. Yeah, I've never seen--I guess I should say the

title. So, it's Maximum Risk, I have never seen it. I don't know that I have heard

of it. The pictures on the back look remarkably similar to the pictures from

Timecop. Other than that, I don't really have anything to say about it.

Now I have another classic, In the Name of the Father. Haven't seen it, don't have

anything to say about it. Another Leonardo DiCaprio classic that I

definitely watched at an inappropriately young age. I recognized Leonardo DiCaprio

and I saw the title and I thought it was a horror movie and I went to my mom and

I was like, "Mom, What's Eating Gilbert Grape?!" and then she told me that it's

just an idiom and I was sad but I still watched it and got weirdly obsessed with

it and did not understand how inappropriate it was for an

eleven-year-old until much much later, but it's a good

movie, it holds up, its referenced constantly, weirdly. We have another

action movie, The Long Kiss Goodnight. At least I'm assuming it's an action movie

by all the guns on the back. Yet again, I've never seen this one. Next, we

have another Mel Gibson movie, Maverick. Never seen it, don't know too much about

it. Another Arden Town Video purchase. Yeah, literally don't know anything about

this movie. So that's that. 90s romantic comedy classic Four Weddings and a

Funeral. I'm pretty sure at some point in my life I've seen this movie but if I

did, I don't remember anything about it, so that's probably why I haven't seen it again

slash possibly ever. Yeah, I guess my parents liked it enough to buy it.

Another Arden Town Video purchase. Another classic, Star Trek First Contact.

this is one of the first Star Trek movies I saw. I definitely grew up

watching Next Generation and Voyager, primarily, with my dad so this one I do

remember seeing in theaters with my family and thinking it was the coolest thing

I'd ever seen because the Borg are awesome. Even though this

movie's definitely on the cheesy side as an adult, maybe not one of the stronger

Star Trek movies, but I enjoyed it and another good find. This is

definitely gonna be one of the ones to go in the frame. Star Trek First Contact.

We have Braveheart. I've actually never seen Braveheart, either. There's a lot of

classics I haven't seen, apparently. Pretty much the only thing I know about

this one is that it is wildly historically inaccurate but supposed to

be a good movie? Does that hold up over time? I don't know. Yeah, so this is a

multi-disc one. Got some nice pictures on the inside. Yeah, that's Braveheart.

Alright, we're down to just two more. Second to last one

is gonna be Much Ado About Nothing. I have seen the Joss Whedon version which got

compared to this version a lot but I haven't seen the 90s Kenneth Branagh

version. Can't tell for certain but it looks like it was another Arden Town

Video purchase. That's about it for this one. That means

the last video in my parents old laserdisc video collection is gonna be

The Abyss. This is probably the one I'm most ashamed to have never seen but I've

never seen The Abyss. I'm surprised my parents own it. They're not, aside from

Star Trek, not the biggest sci-fi fans ever. I've got another multi-disc version.

Lots of pretty pictures. Doesn't look like any special features or anything so

I'm not sure why it's a special edition. Alright, so, that's pretty much it for

this nostalgic laserdisc video. I hope you enjoyed it. Did you have a laserdisc

player in the 90s? If so, let me know what movies you watched on it, what memories

you have, I'd love to reminisce with you. Do you have any memories of any of the

movies I just pulled out? Let me know those, too. And, yeah, that's about it for

this nostalgia video. Hey, thanks for watching. Let me know what you thought in

i am breaking up with you

please leave!

you might be thinking how i came across these

and also how you came across these today...

look at the coincidence

i am Ankita's friend

the day when you broke-up with her

she had no clue what she should do

and then while crossing the road

she had an accident

you broke-up with her just because you had goals and aspirations in life

so now that you have came across the same pain

hopefully you now understand what she might have gone through

no!

don't think that

Ankita longed for revenge

and that was the reason why i joined this college

or why i came into this relationship with you

me, joining this college was a coincidence

and, this relationship with you?

leave

what should i say about that!

i am longing to say a lot more

let keep these things aside

Ankita is no longer with us

and I blame you for this!!

Excuse me?

Excuse me?

i was filling up a form

so could you please tell me today's date?
