while I had to look 92 to see what my setup was can you believe that

anyways let's let's let's get into this if you are new here there's a couple

things well thanks for being here if you're old here thanks for watching you

know if you could leave a like if you liked the video or you just leave it now

leave a comment really helps my channel and really fires me up to make more

videos first let me show you this playlist over here this is the best

playlists in the world this is the best accounting playlist in the world really

full of videos this has helped thousands of thousands of people so check this out

please if you want to support the channel watch the playlist share the

playlist share this channel I don't have anything for sale I'm just trying to

give away the knowledge help you pass the class here or or get a job or do do

do what you're doing really the framework the framework of everything is

why would I get a comment the other day it was beautiful common it was simply

complex method my method is simply complex DC ade ler if you don't know

what about DC a learn learn it if you're in accounting if you're trying to do

anything accounting it's so basic so you don't want to write this all time this

is this this I mean I do have a nice personality but this is why people watch

me so debit/credit acid draw expense liability equity revenue DCA blur this

is based off a question I got so thank you so much for giving me the question

probably the question was from a beginner I don't know maybe not the

questions are awesome I was like oh what a good question

like it really helps me I haven't done a video like this and it was just a good

question I'll sit down make the best video it's gonna help a lot of people so

if you have a question about something leave a comment I see all the comments

and I can see how this person who asked the question is you know is getting it

you don't just the accounting yes you kind of memorize the DC aid ler but then

you have to think about things so let's go let's go through this he said on the

video that this comment was on person left a person was to comment and I said

how does this how does this balance so the journal entry in question was I

believe we spent money on on rent or on an expense so I just have for this one

for illustration illustrative purposes spend 500 on a rent expense so our

journal entry for that would be we debit em we debit $500 rent and we credit $500

cash that's the journal entry we we had in the the the video in question which

the the awesome commenter commented on it was we had a debit we had a debit we

had a debit expense and we had a credit asset so and then he says and then he

said hey he said hey the balance sheet the balance sheets assets equal

liabilities plus equity I'm like yep that's awesome I mean this guy knows

more than some more than a lot so you know assets equal liabilities plus

equity that's the balance sheet

Devitt so is equal credits assets equal liabilities plus equity somebody said

hey if you have a debit expense and you have a credit of an asset if you have a

credit asset that means the assets decreasing in value so this would be up

over here this would be the positive side so if you have a asset decrease in

value would be a credit we have an asset decreasing in value so you would so he D

comment it was awesome comment didn't understand how if you have an asset

decrease in value then you would have to have a liability or equity also decrease

in value what a great question because yes

everything balances and yes and that's not making sense because one over the

liability and equity decreases well I do have a I do have a video on equity net

income retained earnings I think all those like around third thirty I think

or 29 I'm not sure it's an accounting for beginners playlist a part of equity

you know there's a whole bunch of different parts of assets different

different kinds of liabilities there's a whole bunch of different kinds of equity

one of the components of equity is net income and net net income is revenue

minus expenses and we had expenses reducing by five hundred dollars that's

how it comes into equal because we have on the left side assets we have less

than five hundred dollars and on the right side the liabilities and equity

side we have less than five hundred dollars so both both sides are going

down by five hundred the reason how a balance is is

because net income is a component of equity and it updates constantly on the

balance sheet so that is how it balances I thank you so much for watching this

video I like love doing these I worked all day went to the gym I was just

having the best time doing this video I know it's going to help some people that

makes me feel great yeah I'm gonna try to get you know I'm

not gonna forget I was talking to a friend today and it's like I was saying

you know I need to get more back just in the accounting videos and it's like

Yemen you get to the big show throwing fastballs and you're throwing change ups

all over the place so I'm always evolving but thanks thanks everyone

who's been watching and leaves me positive comment to how these videos

help you I've gained so much I've gained so much from making these videos anyways

tell tomorrow I'm out this is CPI strength juices

Favorite Audiobooks of 2017 - Duration: 10:59.

Hey guys it's Trina and this is my list of favorite audiobooks that I listened

to in 2017. I do have a video up called All Time Favorite Audiobooks

which encompasses like everything from 2016 and prior to that so if you're

wanting to know more of my favorites definitely check out that video. I will

link it below. I will link the playlist of my audiobooks reviews videos down

below too in case you want to know about everything that I listened to this year

not just my top favorites. But this year I read a total of 88 books and 40 of

those were audiobooks that I listened to. I've got 7 favorite audiobooks of the

year and I do have these listed in a ranked order. At number 7 is the

audiobook of Ramona Blue by Julie Murphy and this one was narrated by Therese

Plummer. This one is a YA contemporary romance. The

main character is an own voices bisexual character there is a really heavy

romantic aspect to this book but there's also like a great emphasis on family and

friendships and like the small town and it is set in a beach town so this one is

one that I would definitely recommend for like a summer read. It does have

those vibes. I think that this book was amazing overall, story wise and character

wise, and it very narrowly missed making my favorite books in general of the year

but the audiobook is definitely something that stood out to me because

the narrator just really brought these characters to life. I felt like she just

injected just enough personality to where it wasn't anything over-the-top, it

wasn't anything annoying, but it just felt very real and it brought the

characters to life. This one is definitely one that stood out to me as a

contemporary audiobook. I really really enjoyed the narration and the story

itself. At number six is The Gentleman's Guide To Vice And Virtue by Mackenzi

Lee and this one was narrated by Christian Colson and he is the actor

that played the young Tom Riddle in the Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

movie so you might recognize his voice from that. He did such an amazing job

with this audiobook. This is a YA historical romance and it's following a

main character who's bisexual and he has a crush on his male best friend but he

and his best friend and his sister are about to embark on this like tour of

Europe and they get robbed and their tour kind of goes

off the rails and they just go on this adventure. The thing that really made it

to me is that the main character was written with such a distinct personality

and such a sense of humor and the narrator Christian Colson really really

brings that out. Like that audio book is full of personality and I did think that

at times the plot dragged on a little bit more than it needed to but like just

listening to him reading this story was so worth it and it made the book like

that much better to me because the narration was just amazing. My fifth

favorite audiobook I listened to this year was Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher. It

has two narrators: Deborah Wiseman and Joel Johnstone. It is YA contemporary

about a girl who killed herself and she left behind 13 cassette tapes that she

sends to 13 people that explained the 13 reasons why she killed herself.

Now I absolutely know that this book is kind of controversial. Some people love

it, some people hate it, they think that the representation of the suicide and

you know how everything came to play is a little bit problematic and I can

totally see that but I do want to say that the reason this is on my list is

because of the format. This story was made for an audio format because it's

about audio cassette tapes and the main character who is narrating the story, he

listens to the cassettes throughout the book and so you're listening to the

cassettes that Hannah left behind. So you know, story elements aside, what I am

saying is that the audio quality of this one was just perfect for the story. Both

of the narrators did a great job at bringing their characters to life. Both

of them injected so much emotion into the story. Clay is reacting very

emotionally to hearing these tapes and then the girl who voices Hannah, you can

really feel her pain. Like they just did a really good job at acting and

narrating so in terms of quality of the audiobook this one is a favorite. I just

think that this format suits it's so so well. At number four I've got two books

that are part of the same series. I listened to both of these audiobooks

this year. They are Every Heart A Doorway and Down Among The Sticks And Bones by

Seanan McGuire and these books are about children who have found doorways

to other fantasy worlds and they've gone through them, they found a place where

they really fit in and they belong and then when they're teenagers they were

thrust back out into the real world and all they want to do is find a way back.

The first book was narrated by Cynthia Hopkins and then the second book was

narrated by Seanan McGuire, the author herself. I really really loved both

narrators. Cynthia Hopkins I thought did a wonderful job.

Her voicing just like really suited the tone and the setting of that first book

and so when I realized that the second book wasn't also narrated by her I was a

little bit bummed out and then when I started listening to it I was like, 'but

Seanan McGuire does a great job too.' So like they're both totally

fantastic. The way that they read these books, like there's just like this tone

and quality to their voices and to the narration that just suits the setting

and suits the storytelling so well. Like they're darkly whimsical and I

absolutely have loved listening to these books. At number three is another

overall series that I have really enjoyed listening to this year and that

is the Harry Potter series by JK Rowling. I have listened to books 1 through 5 and

I'm listening to the US versions of the audiobooks which are narrated by Jim

Dale. I have so so enjoyed the listening experience because this is a series that

I'm very familiar with. I've read and reread the books, I've seen the movies

countless times, and so experiencing this really well beloved and very well-known

story in a new to me format is bringing it to life in a totally different way. I

don't always love Jim Dale's voices for all of the characters but it's not that

he does a bad job with it because he's got like hundreds of characters that

he's got to keep up with and make different voices for every single time.

So he's doing an excellent excellent job. Just the experience though has been

really really amazing to see this series come to life in a new to me way. Number

two is the Themis Files series by Sylvain Neuvel. Again this is another

series. There are currently two books out in it, they are called Sleeping Giants

and Waking Gods and this is an adult science fiction series about these giant

objects have been found buried all around the world and when people put

them together they make up this large human-ish

statue but it's not completely human and so this story is following a bunch

of different characters that are working on figuring out what this statue is. Like

it follows some of the people who found it, some of the people, like the scientists

that are researching it, the military as they are trying to acquire it and figure

out what it is and that's just the main question is what is this thing? What does

it do? And who buried it here? Both of these audiobooks are narrated by a full

cast, like it's a very large list of voice actors that work on these books.

It's very very well acted in my opinion. I love having the different narrators

for each character. It doesn't have like sound effects so it's not as full of a

production as something like the Illuminae books, which I know are really

talked about their audio formats but I think there would still be a lot of

appeal to you if you liked the Illuminae audiobooks you definitely got

to check out the Themis Files series on audio. Like, it's amazing. And the reason

why I love these audiobooks so much, or another reason because there's many many

reasons I love the story itself, but if you get a copy of the print books and

you look at it you will realize that the entire book is told in all dialogue. You

have audio files written out in the print book of interviews between two

characters, or sometimes you do have like radio reports that have been

transcripted, sometimes you have audio diary entries of these people describing

what they're doing as they're working on this figure. So everything in the book

that's written is meant to be in audio pretty much so that's why this is

another book that works so well as an audio book because it was made for this

format. And just having that full cast brings it to life, makes it such a full

story. I honestly, like as much as I love this story I can't imagine that I would

like it as much as I do if I had read the print versions but oh these

audiobooks are absolutely incredible. I can't stop recommending them. If you're

looking for an audio book to pick up and you haven't tried this one already, get

on it. It is so amazing. And it was tough to not put the Themis Files in my top

slot but my top favorite audiobook of the year is gonna go to Before The Devil

Breaks You by Libba Bray, and in fact I would recommend the entire series on

audiobook because all the books in this series are narrated by the same narrator,

January Lavoy. It is a YA paranormal slash fantasies slash historical slash

science fiction series, it's quite a mash up, of these characters who have

supernatural abilities and they basically find themselves investigating

different mysteries and there's like ghosts and stuff like that in the series.

The reason that this one is getting top spot is because of the narration.

This series has a very large cast of characters and yet the audiobooks have a

single narrator and I have never listened to an audiobook with one

narrator who has done such an amazing job at voicing all of the characters in

such distinct voices to the point like I never question who is talking. She

switches between like ten different voices in one scene when these

characters are all together and not only does she do incredible voice work for

our main characters, she brings everything up a notch because sometimes

the books include songs that are sung and January Lavoie makes up her own tune

and she sings them. She also does accents and the slang of the time period, which

this is set in 1920s New York. She voices like the ghosts and the bad guys and

stuff and like this eerie way and she just injects personality and emotion

into the narrative itself. Like she was meant to tell the story.

You guys got to listen to these audiobooks if you're interested in this

series at all. Seriously the audiobooks are the way to go but honestly you won't

be missing out if you read the print formats because this story is just

amazing in and of itself but she's got to get my top slot because I think she's

such an incredibly talented narrator. I will listen to her reading a grocery

list. Like just read more things to me January Lavoy, please! So those are

my favorite audiobooks that I have listened to in 2017. I hope you guys have

enjoyed this list or found something new to try out on audio. If you guys listen

to audiobooks I would love to know your favorite of the year as well. Thank you

so much for watching and I will see you in the comments. Bye!

Lizzie Velasquez: Why We Need to Take a Radical Approach to Kindness - Duration: 28:51.

Hey, it's Marie Forleo and you are watching MarieTV, the place to be to create a business

and life you love.

Now, if you ever feel different than everyone else and you suspect that that holds you back

from making the difference that you were born to make, this is the episode for you.

Lizzie Velásquez is a motivational speaker, anti-bullying activist, social media personality,

and author.

She was born with an extremely rare disease that affects her heart, eyes, bones, and prevents

her from gaining weight.

Her TEDx talk has over 13 million views, and her story has been featured on Katie Couric,

The Today Show, and The View, among others.

She's an executive producer of the award-winning documentary based on her life, A Brave Heart,

The Lizzie Velásquez Story, and her latest book, Dare to Be Kind: How Extraordinary Compassion

Can Transform Our World, is available now.

Lizzie, thank you so much for making the time to be here.

Absolutely.

Thanks for having me.

I love that, you know, we were gonna do this interview on Skype and they were like, "no,

no.

We need to do this in person."

So, first, congratulations on Dare to Be Kind.

Thank you.

I loved it.

Thank you.

I underlined so many things, and you can see my little tabs here from some of my favorite

parts.

So for anyone watching that doesn't know your story, take us back to when you were 17 and

you saw that video that changed everything for you.

Yeah.

So I was born with a syndrome that doesn't allow me to gain weight.

I was undiagnosed up until the time I was 25.

So when you're a teenager and you're in high school, all you really want is to fit

in and be cool, but adding this condition that doesn't – no matter what I do, I can't

put on a nice shirt or change my hair color and be that popular version of whatever it

was in my head at the time.

And it was hard.

It was really, really hard.

But I knew I had to sort of stop whining in a way, and figure out a way to make myself

feel better.

And so I started joining different things in high school and things started looking

up.

And my friends were great, my family was great, and it all sort of came crashing down when

I accidentally found a video someone posted of me calling me the world's ugliest woman.

And there were millions of views on it and so many horrible, horrible comments, and I

felt like I had worked so hard to get my confidence up to a certain level, and then all of a sudden

within 2.5 seconds it was just gone.

I remember watching the documentary about your life and that particular section where

your mom is wanting you to not watch it, and you couldn't pull yourself away.

And it's that feeling that I think so many of us experience when we start to hear negative

things about ourselves where there's like a deeper part of you that goes, "I shouldn't

pay more attention.

I should move away," and then there's some part of us that wants to like absorb

the whole thing.

And it's so painful.

What's funny is I didn't know everyone's, like, genuine reactions to that video until

I saw the first cut of the doc, because I didn't want to be in anyone's interview

because I wanted them to feel like comfortable and open, and then when I watched it I realized

how much everyone was hurting, but then I also realized that they had worked so hard

to put such a positive front when they were around me, so much so that years later I still

never knew that they were really hurting as much as I was.

So one of the things that you write in this book, which I love, and I highlighted this

and I wrote it down here, is that you get to decide how you want to define yourself

to the world.

And I think that this is so important not just from an external perspective, like your

brand or your business, but ourselves.

So I'm curious, how has your definition of yourself evolved over the years?

Oh, my gosh.

I feel like I'm in a whole other book every year of definitions.

I think it'll forever be changing with me.

I think with age comes experiences and wisdom and all these other little life lessons that

you sort of bring into your life without necessarily realizing it.

And I used to think that I would define myself as someone who would work really hard and

I would accomplish all the dreams and the goals that I had set for myself, and that

was it.

That was gonna be – like, that was it.

That was gonna be, you know, everything for me.

Yeah.

And now it's just so different, because now I define myself as someone who's able

to help other people, and I feel like everything else sort of just falls underneath that umbrella.

And I don't – I don't want to say it's like a label I've given myself, but it's

something that I feel is more of like a gift that has come to me.

And instead of me just like keeping it, I'm so appreciative that I'm able to sort of

give that gift away every day.

Yeah.

I mean, and your talks, from seeing the doc, from seeing your TED talk, from reading your

book, you're just an amazing force of nature.

One of the other pieces about the book that I loved was about misconceptions.

I feel like misconceptions are so prevalent in our society, and I love this story that

you told about the quinceanera.

Mmhm.

And that you were looking at your cousin's life and having certain ideas about what it

would be to live their life.

Can you tell us about that experience?

Yeah.

So my family is Hispanic and we were at my cousin's quinceanera, her sweet 15.

And there was all of these round tables in the room and I was sitting at a table with

my parents and my siblings, and in front of me I saw one of my other cousins, who were

all the exact same age.

And she was sitting with her son and her boyfriend.

And then at another table on the other side was our other cousin with her son and her

son's father.

And I was looking at them and thinking we're the exact same age.

I've always, since we were little, I've always felt like I was – I felt like our

milestones were something that we should all hit together.

Yeah.

Which looking back is just silly.

But I kept thinking, "I'm their age.

Why don't I have that?"

I'm sitting here and I feel like I'm looking into a window of their life and I so desperately

want in.

And I was just sitting there just thinking about it to myself.

And one of my cousins came over and sat down next to me and we randomly had this heart

to heart in a crazy loud room, and I told her that I was looking at them and I wanted

that.

And she was telling me "I look at your life and I see that you're traveling and doing

everything you set your mind to, and I want that life."

And it was that instant realization that the grass is always greener I guess.

Or in a way like we're always wanting what we don't have.

Yes.

And that's sort of where I think things get really tricky.

It's hard too, I feel like because both of us, you know, you make videos online, I

make videos online.

We're out there in the public, so to speak.

And everyone watching each other on social media, you can so easily just assume that

this other person's life is perfect or so much better than yours, and I feel like what

people – what we all have to realize, is like no matter who you are, what you've

accomplished, like we're human and all of us are a mess inside from time to time.

We have our strong moments, we have those moments when we want to cry.

And I just loved that story, because it was so illustrative of that very salient point.

All of us can think the grass is greener, and it's just not the truth.

Yeah.

I couldn't agree more.

So another favorite passage from the book is: "the world doesn't need you to change

yourself, to be more normal either.

What is normal, anyway?

The world needs – what the world needs is people who truly embrace differences, physical

and otherwise."

Yeah.

I mean, normal is another – I think I just have this weird thing with definitions because

I feel like I tie definitions to labels, and labels is something that I don't really like.

And I think what's most important, what I've learned in all these years that I've

been in my body and having the opportunity to go out and travel and meet people – what

I've learned is no matter what experience we've had or what language we speak, we

all have this underlying same battles that we've all had to fight together.

And acknowledging that and just listening to that I feel is way more important than

saying, "Well, why didn't you do this?" or, "I have this problem.

I have this problem.

But mine is bigger than your problem, so mine's more important."

And it's just so wrong.

Like, why can we just say "we all have these struggles, this is what's going on, let's

sort of work together to get through them."

Yeah.

And connecting on a more humanity level versus the boxes and the labels that we put ourselves

in.

Absolutely.

So this leads perfectly into the time, the really challenging time, after the documentary

when everything changed.

And you shared that "all of my dreams are coming true.

So why am I not happy?

How can I possibly help inspire other people if I can't help myself?"

I thought this was so awesome that you shared about this in the book.

Thank you.

Because once again, it's so easy to assume folks that are so inspired by you going like

"oh, my goodness.

Lizzie is so strong, she's so inspirational, she's so motivated, she's going out there,

and she's changing the world."

And yet on the inside you were having this very new struggle.

Can you tell us about that?

It's still something that like whenever I think about it and I'm talking about it

I still like get this instant feeling of like, "oh, my gosh.

I can't believe I'm talking about it."

But I want to talk about it.

Yeah.

And it is something that after I went through it I knew this was going to be the anchor

of the book.

I knew having this breakdown, what I did have it, was going to be for a reason.

And hitting rock bottom and really having – I think, you know, I think what was so

– what led to that was having the time alone to not only just like rest and recover, because

I needed like two weeks to do that.

Once that time was up, I still had so much time alone.

Documentary time was up.

Right.

Yeah.

We stopped filming.

And so I had my break of like recovering, and then I started realizing I have so much

time to just think and I have so much time to Google things or to sit down and doubt

myself.

And I was allowing myself to sort of be attacked by my own thoughts.

I knew what I was doing, but I was still letting it happen.

And it kept happening and it kept happening.

And I thought, "well, if I take one like anxiety pill that I had and I can just take

a nap and I won't have to worry about anything."

Well, while I was also filming the documentary I was diagnosed for the first time.

And finding out that I – finding out my diagnosis was a whole other thing.

But knowing that I'm – one of the biggest things that we have to keep an eye out for

is my heart.

And so knowing that in the back of my head and not fully processing that in the right

way, when I had that time to just think about things, I kept thinking, "well if this is

gonna happen why don't I just speed it up?

And why don't I not – why don't I do my loved ones a favor and not…"

Be here anymore.

Right, exactly.

I've never, ever, ever no matter what I've gone through in my whole life, I've never

had those thoughts until then.

And as soon as people started realizing what was going on, because I got dangerously good

at hiding it.

Oh, my gosh.

I was so good at hiding it.

So so good at hiding the pills or so good at hiding the depression?

Both.

Both.

I was so good at just pretending I was just fine and I was Lizzie.

And I was still posting on social media.

And I look back now and I can instantly tell that it wasn't me.

And I'm hoping that other people don't really notice that, but I can tell that it wasn't

me.

And once people started finding out, once my loved ones started finding out and it became

a thing, I instantly went into being really ashamed, embarrassed.

And that's when the guilt really hit me.

Because a movie was being made about my life, and here I am selfishly wanting to take myself

out of this world.

I love you for talking about this and I love you for putting this in the book.

Because so many people struggle with depression and they struggle with those suicidal thoughts,

and they feel so ashamed about saying anything.

And I love that you're talking about this, because that juxtaposition of like "here's

this documentary about how brave I am and my brave heart, and here's what I'm struggling

with."

And I just adore you for that.

Thank you.

And I want to also say too for everyone watching, it's like … goes back to that misconceptions

idea.

Right?

It's like putting labels on people or thinking that their lives are perfect or they don't

go through struggles because of whatever box we've put them into.

It's just not true.

And it leads perfectly into this idea of vulnerability and shattering the myth of positivity.

Tell us about the decision to post videos, kind of post this, that when you're not

happy, when you're having a tough time, how has that been for you?

You know, it's funny because I think posting videos that show my more vulnerable side has

kind of become one of my new favorite things.

And before I always thought I could never turn my camera on unless my hair was done,

my makeup was done, and the lightning was right.

Like, everything had to be great.

Yeah.

I had written down what I was gonna say, everything was so staged and planned out, when I was

really just wanting to show them my normal life.

Yep.

And I was I don't want to say censoring myself, but I was stopping myself from saying how

I really felt, because I was already thinking about what people were gonna say in the comments.

Yeah.

And I did that for so many years.

I started my channel I think at the end of 2007, so I've had it for a while, and the

journey I've gone from when I first started and feeling like it had to be perfect to now,

oh my gosh.

I'm just so comfortable and I'll just turn my camera on even when I open my eyes

in the morning.

And luckily there's no like smellovision yet.

Because it's like I'm not brushing my teeth yet and I've turned my camera on and

like talking to my camera.

But it's now become something that I find so personal.

I think it's like the new diary of 2017 is having a camera to talk to.

And I've been so nervous to show the videos where I'm not positive all the time, but

those have been the videos that have been most warmly received and welcomed more than

anything else.

And it's so refreshing.

I mean, I recently hosted one about dating.

Yeah.

I was so nervous to even record it.

And I was like "what am I doing?

Why am I talking about this?

Why do I feel shy?

Like, I'm an adult.

What am I doing?"

And after I posted it I felt like it was just so freeing to be able to open up about that

and be really, really honest.

And I was overwhelmed by the response that I got.

I can relate to this so much.

I started MarieTV back in like 2011 or so, and it was just like my webcam.

You know, it's like opening up my Mac laptop and talking.

The white one?

Yeah.

And just like there was no lighting, there was no editing, it was like crappy quality

or whatever.

And as the show has progressed I've been really proud that, you know, we can come here

and talk with you and have this great conversation.

But earlier I think it was maybe like a month or two ago I got this intuitive hit like I

just wanted to take my own camera and run around and not have the hair or the makeup

or the anything.

And all those things are great, because it allows us to actually produce stuff on a schedule

and keep things out.

But I have been having so much fun similarly like just turning the damn thing on.

And I can say this too for everyone watching, when you see so many comments and you do start

to edit yourself in advance.

Like, I'm from Jersey, so I curse.

I love it, yeah.

Like, that's just that something that I do.

And I started, you know, years ago getting notes from moms because they're watching

with their kids.

And of course I want to be respectful, so I dialed down my language.

Not to try to be a different version of me, but just to take care of more people.

But something happened when I'm just running around with my camera like – and it's

been so much fun.

Yeah.

And so anyway, I just – I wanted to relate to you on that, because I think it's hard

for anyone watching who has an idea that they want to share whether it's around vlogging,

whether it's around their own personal brand, or they just want to create art.

I think it's important to hear conversations like this from people who've been doing

it over time so they can start to see a little bit of the journey and keep watch out for

the pitfalls so they don't have to fall into them.

So let's talk about another passage that I highlighted.

"Let me be blunt.

The consequences of not finding the courage to be vulnerable are dire.

Emotional isolation, an emotional or physical breakdown, or worse, you risk becoming a hurt

person who hurts other people due to your own inner pain."

That was another one of the big life lessons I guess that I've learned along this journey

and path of things that I've done.

I used to – I've always hated confrontation.

I'm the least confrontational person.

I will run away from it.

I will avoid it at all costs.

It just makes me feel so uncomfortable.

And a lot of that was when I was younger when people would stare at me or say something

or whisper about me, and I would either hide behind my parents or whoever I was with or

I would see it and just hope no one else heard it so we could just keep walking and not acknowledge

it and just ignore it.

And all of that was sort of unknowingly me building up this resentment towards strangers

no matter what age they were, because I would think "they're being so mean."

And I would just hold that with me without realizing it.

And even if it was like when adults would do it and I would catch them, and I was this

kid looking at an adult who's saying something about me, the anger that I would get so instantly

was just like "what is wrong with you?

Look, why – you're an adult, I'm a little kid.

I didn't do anything to you."

And my parents – the way that my parents handled every situation was so incredible.

I mean, when you're a parent, I know that – well, I'm not – my kids are fur babies,

so I don't know like when…

Mine too.

… human baby, but I will do anything to protect them.

And I'm – I know for a fact that my parents always wanted to do the same thing for me.

But instead of making the other person feel bad or to call them out, they would go up

to them and say, "Hey, that's my daughter, Lizzie, would you like to tell her hi?"

And even though that was so nice, I would hate it because I feel like that was just

drawing more attention to me.

But they continued doing that as I got older.

I never, ever, ever once saw them go up and be mean to somebody else, even though I knew

deep down that's the road they probably wanted to take.

Sure.

But to be able to watch that, and then me getting older and realizing that whenever

you see a situation where there's a bully and a victim, we automatically just tend to

the victim, and the bully is just sitting there like they should be ashamed and we should

yell at them and put them in the corner and leave them there.

But how can we help this victim and how can we love them, make them feel better?

There's two parties in this situation, and the only way that we will be able to continue

to make a difference or to be able to really teach others a lesson is to realize that there

is a bully and there's a victim.

That doesn't mean one is innocent and one is not.

It means there's two people who need our help in different ways.

And that's really, really, really important to also remember that hurt people hurt people.

So if this bully is going through something at home or in school and they don't have the

tools or the resources to say "I'm hurting someone else but I'm not doing it to hurt

them.

I'm doing it because I'm hurting.

So how can I channel that in another way?"

All they see is "I'm hurting, now let me hurt someone else."

So it's really, really important for us to be able to say there are two people in

a situation.

How can we help both of them and say let's take a step back and realize what's going

on?

How can we look at the bigger picture and how can we help both of you in the same way?

It's such a big, elevated, amazing viewpoint that feels to me in my heart like the true

path to healing and to the one real way to start to unwiring, to start to unwire bullying

as a cultural epidemic.

So on that topic, feeling compassion for a bully is easier said than done, and you shared

a story in here about how you recently turned someone around who left a negative comment

on your YouTube video.

What are some of the steps?

What did you actually do?

Because I feel like it's very instructive for people, because it's so easy to feel

so hurt when someone attacks you, and then want to go right back and hurt them back.

I'll start at the beginning of this.

So back when I was younger, MySpace was the cool Facebook, and that was my first introduction,

I guess, to the social media world.

And I had to, of course, ask my parents, and the first thing they said was "we will support

you getting the MySpace account, but you have to know that there isn't always going to

be people who have something nice to say.

And if you don't think that you can read it without it really getting to you and upsetting

you, then maybe you're not ready for this account."

And I've always appreciated that, because I think for parents, and of course I'm only

speaking from my personal experience and not like as an expert, but what worked for me

was knowing that my parents weren't automatically saying no, don't do this.

They were open to it and saying "we're gonna support you doing this, but you have

to know there aren't – it's not always going to be the best thing in the world."

There are consequences.

Exactly.

Yeah.

So going into it I feel like that's always such an important start I think, especially

with younger kids.

Because, I mean, first graders have iPads and they now have access to so many people

24/7 versus when we were younger and bullying happened during the school day hours.

Yes.

Now it's 24/7.

It's when you're at home, it's when you're at school, it's when you're in

the car.

Wherever you are, you have this access to be able to type something and hurt someone

else.

And yes, as scary as it is and as dangerous as it can be, it's also a great thing.

That's a whole other thing as well.

But for me, the comments is something that I used to fear and I used to hate, and I always

felt like if someone said anything really hurtful to me, in my head I'm like, "Well,

they don't know me and they don't know my story.

And I can tell them all this stuff."

And I quickly realized that was just fighting fire with fire and nothing was going to – it

wasn't gonna accomplish anything.

Once I said those words and I press send, what would happen?

Nothing.

I would just wait for them, and then continue the battle back and forth.

Now looking at it I see it and I'm at a point personally where if I see a hateful

comment I will either do one of two things.

I will either ignore it and let it go or I'll see it and I'll say – I'll comment back

and I'll say, "I respect your opinion.

We're all – we all have this right to feel the way that we want to feel.

But here on my channel I really encourage everyone to be positive and support one another."

And nine times out of ten I get the, "Oh, my gosh.

I didn't really mean it.

I just wanted you to reply.

Hi, Lizzie.

Thank you so much."

So it's so different now versus how it would've been years ago.

But, yeah.

Yeah.

It's a really – it's a challenging thing and I love that you teach that, that you take

a stand for that, and also just that you share how you deal with it, because it's not going

away any time soon.

And I love this approach of engaging from a compassionate and yet still strong and honest

place.

Uh-huh.

So the message you wrote in the final chapter of the book really touched my heart.

It says "you play an important role in co creating a kinder future.

We can't do it alone.

It takes every one of us working together."

I know for me, I think it's just not in my nature to – you know, if I see something

that I don't care for, it's just not my taste, I tend to just click away.

You know, but I loved this idea that we can all do it if we work together.

The world that we live in right now is kind of crazy and in real life it's crazy, online

it's crazy.

And we all want this instant gratification of "I'm gonna post something and now I

want all of you to like it or say something."

Or they'll post something just to sort of stir the pot and see what others have to say

so they can just go back and forth.

And it's hard and it's dangerous and it's negative, and it's not something that we

should feed into.

But with all that being said, no matter if I say it, if you say it, no matter who says

it, it's still gonna happen.

And it's one of those things that we sort of have to learn to live with, unfortunately.

And I've always, always believed that the power of one person can move mountains.

And if you're able to stand up and say something, and you might think it is the smallest thing,

like I just whispered it to someone and you think, "Well, I did that but it's not

gonna do anything because it was just one person."

It will always, always help.

If you're able to not only stand up for yourself but also to stand up for at least

one other person, and stand up for them in a positive way, not in a mean way.

You have no idea what that road will lead to or what that legacy will look like years

and years later because you're this one person who decided to be kind to one other

person.

Lizzie, you're an amazing human.

Thank you so much for taking the time out of your schedule to talk with us today.

Jim Rohn - The Best Decision I Ever Made (Jim Rohn Motivation) - Duration: 9:55.

JIM ROHN► now some decisions are incidental and some are small and some you know are

part of a working day but sometimes decision-making can be one of the most

important days of your life may be a decision you have postponed and

postponed and now you understand the penalty of postponing that decision

you've got to do something and finally you come to the conclusion today is the

day I now decide and whether you decide on a new direction whether you decide on

a refinement in philosophy whether you decide to act when before you haven't

acted you decide on a on a series of things that you're going to do you

decide deciding can be such an incredibly important very exciting

inspirational day also deciding sometimes starts the process of lifting

our self-esteem sometimes when you look back on it the day that you decided was

just about as exciting as the day when you finally accomplished the project

that when you finally made the decision you finally got the monkey off your back

as we say in English you finally know got through whatever barriers kept you

from making that decision and finally you made a decision and now it seems

like the sky is blue and the air is clear and your mind is ready and you

know the adrenaline starts to flow things start to happen to you from that

moment of decision so that can be an incredible source of inspiration now if

you don't follow through it's not gonna last all that long if you decide and

then you know postpone and and you decide and but you don't still don't get

to it for a week or a month or a year you know soon all that energy and that

source of inspiration is all dissipated so deciding is inspiring but but not for

that long but once you decide it can be a very powerful day but now of course

you now you must follow through but if there's some things you've been poke

boning some decisions you have just you know haven't gotten to I would ask you

to just you know take out your journal and just go through you know what have I

been postponing it's not gonna be better for my health it's not gonna be better

for my future it's not going to enhance my finances maybe a problem needs to be

solved I got to decide when I'm gonna do it and and how I'm gonna proceed I need

to get to it I promise you if you'll go through some of that list and start

making those decisions your inspiration will start to flow and those could be

very critically important exciting days indecision is the thief of opportunity

indecision means the door is still closed

indecision means the opportunity waits indecision means what could be is

postponed or may never be you know that those are all the penalties of

indecision and sometimes we can't make a snap judgment we can't decide

immediately on something so important but after a while after a while we must

understand sometimes they have a penalty of putting off our our decision-making

so one source of inspiration deciding here's the next one planning now that

you've decided and you've started you start making plans it's in incredible

what can happen as a source of inspiration when finally what's in your

head what's in your imagination now finally starts to take shape on paper

when I first heard about network marketing I was 25 years old and I heard

some of the testimonials and I heard that people have gotten rich and I've

heard that it's changed people's lives and I've heard that you could start with

nothing and become something but let me tell you what was exciting when I

finally made the decision yes I was going to be part of the industry yes I

was gonna make it part of my marketing future

what was really exciting was when I sat down and started making plans

I started committing the imagination and belief to paper I started writing it

down I started started as we often do drawing

those circles you know what if I had five what if I had ten and then when I

had a concept of what that could bring for me then I said how can I reach the

first five how can I reach the first ten what could I do

starting to make those plans I'm telling you I remember those days as if they

were yesterday they were so exciting I had a concept of what I wanted I had a

dream of what could happen for me if it could happen for others maybe it could

happen for me but when I started putting it on paper and started making the plans

that was an incredible source of inspiration for me because the plans

seemed to now start making it real that what I had thought about what I dreamed

about now I'm actually getting to it by making a plan however

you can make all the plans in the world and it is a source of inspiration for

only so long and you can make one plan and then you can make another plan and

you can make some plans today and the next day you can make some more plans

and the next day you can make some more plans and it is a very exciting source

of inspiration but only for a while I'm sure we would all agree that making

plans that inspiration wouldn't last for a week now that inspiration now must

drive you to do number three the first source of inspiration is deciding second

source of inspiration is planning and now here's a big source of inspiration

beginning getting started actually turning thought and the notes on the

paper the plans actually now committing it to action getting started and

beginning can be an incredible source of inspiration guess what you can say when

you begin a change in your diet when you begin to take the Herbalife products

guess what you can say I'm on a new track I have carved out for myself a new

beginning I'm on my way to the most incredible health I will never be the

same again I'm leaving the old undisciplined part

of me I'm leaving that behind I'm a new person I'm taking my first shake I'm

swallowing the first tablets I made my first you know walk around the block

that I thought about for slow long and never did I finally did it

today I've started I have begun that is an incredible source of inspiration and

that is to start to begin you cannot believe what can happen to your

self-esteem and many of you have already experienced it I'm just asking you to

begin some new in all the areas of your life maybe

you've always thought about benevolence and you just haven't gotten started or

you haven't made the plans or you haven't made the decision I'm asking you

to start taking that stuff now that's in your head that imagination which is very

powerful and it's a great source of inspiration in itself but then I'm

asking you them to decide use that inspiration then I'm asking you to make

plans begin to make plans use that inspiration and then if you take that

first step it can be the first step of an incredible journey and when Mark had

his first meeting when mark recruited his first distributor when Mark got his

first customer his grandmother using the product when Mark got that first few

yeses from people and he started the process as simple as it was you know

from the trunk of his car you know as crude as the literature wasn't the

beginning it was a start and so beginning can be an incredible source of

inspiration and beginning can be many things a beginning a new commitment to

learning you say I'm gonna have a library second-to-none and I bought the

first book of my new library today I'm gonna be surrounded by information

and inspiration the cassette tapes and the videos and

the books I'm gonna have a library second to none I've thought about it it

wouldn't it be wonderful and you know I've started making plans you know I've

provided some space in my room for my expanded library but here's what's

exciting I got the first book today I've gotten started this is just the first of

many many books this is the first of a whole flow of information for me this is

the first time you want to learn a new skill and you sign up for a class let's

say you want to learn accounting or something in you you sign up for the

class and you take the first class you get started you'd thought about it you

made some plans for it you made some time for it but there's nothing like

sitting there the class with the pin in your hand and

the pad ready to take notes Here I am I'm starting on a new journey of

learning

How Often Should You Weigh Yourself - Duration: 2:52.

I get this question a lot from women especially and it's how often should you

weigh yourself. So stay tuned for the answer...

Hi Welcome back to the Shape It Up channel!

My name is Nicole and we're talking about the scale today...

I really don't like the scale...which I'm sure most women don't.

I do use the scale when I assess my clients because

it is part of the big picture but it isn't the whole picture.

I feel bad for a lot of women who are so fixated on the scale.

It is just a number. It is literally gravity pulling on your body that is it.

You do not have any self-worth tied to that scale.

So how often should you weigh yourself?

I think it really depends on the person.

If you are mentally "okay" with weighing yourself daily... go for it.

But if you get on that scale and it's not the number that you wanted to see and it's up

and now your day is ruined...

then I say don't get on the scale.

if you're that attached to the scale

honestly I wouldn't weigh yourself at all.

I would go by measurements or I would all get a pair of tight jeans and put them on.

Use that as a measurement.

There are some people who weigh themselves daily and then you can take the average of the

seven days. That's a good way to figure out what your weight is.

And realistically speaking if you're weighing yourself first thing in the

morning when you haven't eaten anything there's no water in you...

you're in your birthday suit ...

you're gonna be a lot lighter.

Whereas if you weigh yourself at night you may be heavier at night because

you have food in your stomach. There may be a little bit of swelling if you're

standing on your feet all day...little things like that.

You really want to be obsessive you can weigh

yourself in the morning and at night and then take the average of that two.

I really don't think it's necessary because women also fluctuate so much in pounds

depending on what time of the month it is you could go up easily a 5 pounds so

keep that in mind. I mean there's certain foods like salt and sugar that will puff

you up if you're not drinking enough water or if you over did it on the

sodium or the sugar that day

My answer is... is you have to do what's right for you.

If you find that you are really attached to the scale and it's

affecting your life... is affecting you emotionally then don't get on the scale

there are so many other different ways that you can see if you're progressing

so I want to know what you think about the scale.Go ahead and comment below and

I can't wait to hear from you!

Thank you again for taking time out of your day to come hang out with me.

Remember to Get Fit ...Be Fierce and Have No Limits!

Have a great day and I will see you in the next Shape It Up video!

ANNOUNCER: ON TODAY'S PROGRAM, WE'LL CONTINUE

IN JAMES CHAPTER 3, SHARING EXAMPLES OF HOW JESUS

CONTROLLED WHAT HE SAID.

HERE'S JOYCE.

JOYCE: JESUS WAS VERY CAREFUL ABOUT WHAT HE SAID.

AND I'VE GOT TWO SCRIPTURES IN PARTICULAR THAT I WANNA SHOW YOU

THAT I THINK ARE VERY INTERESTING.

JOHN 14:30.

IT WAS GETTING CLOSE TO THE TIME FOR JESUS' SUFFERING AND HIS

DEATH ON THE CROSS, AND WHO KNOWS WHAT ALL HE MUST HAVE BEEN

GOING THROUGH INTERNALLY.

HOW MANY OF YOU AGREE WITH ME THAT WHEN YOU'RE GOING THROUGH

DIFFICULTY, WHEN YOU'RE HURTING, THAT'S THE MOST DIFFICULT TIME

TO NOT SAY SOMETHING THAT YOU SHOULDN'T BE SAYING?

AND JESUS TOLD HIS DISCIPLES, "I WILL NOT TALK WITH YOU MUCH

MORE, FOR THE PRINCE, THE (EVIL GENIUS, THE RULER)

OF THE WORLD IS COMING.

AND HE HAS NO CLAIM ON ME.

[HE HAS NOTHING IN COMMON WITH ME; THERE IS NOTHING IN ME THAT

BELONGS TO HIM, AND HE HAS NO POWER OVER ME.]"

SO, IT SEEMS TO ME THAT JESUS IS SAYING TO HIS

DISCIPLES, "NOW LOOK, I'M COMING INTO A DIFFICULT TIME, GONNA BE

UNDER A LOT OF PRESSURE, GONNA BE GOING THROUGH A LOT.

AND RIGHT NOW, SATAN HAS NO PART IN ME.

HE HAS NO POWER OVER ME.

AND I'M GONNA NEED TO BE QUIETER NOW BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO GIVE

HIM ANY POWER OVER ME OR OPEN ANY DOOR FOR HIM TO GET INTO

AND WREAK HAVOC IN MY LIFE."

ISAIAH 53:7, I OFTEN WONDERED WHAT THIS MEANT AND NOW I KNOW.

"HE WAS OPPRESSED, [YET WHEN] HE WAS AFFLICTED, HE WAS SUBMISSIVE

AND OPENED NOT HIS MOUTH."

COME ON, LET'S READ IT AGAIN.

"WHEN HE WAS OPPRESSED, [YET WHEN] HE WAS AFFLICTED, HE WAS

SUBMISSIVE AND HE OPENED NOT HIS MOUTH; LIKE A LAMB THAT IS LED

TO THE SLAUGHTER, AND AS A SHEEP BEFORE HER SHEARERS IS DUMB,

SO HE OPENED NOT HIS MOUTH."

YOU KNOW THE OLD SAYING, IF YOU CAN'T SAY SOMETHING POSITIVE,

JUST DON'T SAY ANYTHING AT ALL?

WELL, WE COULD ALL USE A LITTLE BIT OF THAT.

DURING THE 6 AGONIZING HOURS THAT JESUS WAS ON THE CROSS,

HE ONLY SPOKE 7 TIMES, 7 TIMES IN 6 HOURS.

AND IT TOTALED 41 WORDS IN GREEK AND 58 IF IT'S TRANSLATED

INTO ENGLISH.

IT TOOK APPROXIMATELY 1 MINUTE FOR HIM TO MAKE THESE

7 STATEMENTS SO THAT MEANS THAT FOR THE OTHER

5 HOURS AND 59 MINUTES HE WAS ON THE CROSS,

HE WAS TOTALLY SILENT.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: I TELL YA WHAT, I THINK I WOULD HAVE HAD A LOT

MORE TO SAY THAN SEVEN THINGS.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: AMEN?

DO YOU FIND IT DIFFICULT WHEN YOU'RE ACCUSED TO JUST STAND

THERE AND NOT TRY TO DEFEND YOURSELF?

BOY, I DO.

I'M STILL WORKIN' WITH GOD ON THAT ONE.

WE WANT TO DEFEND OURSELVES.

WE WANT TO CONVINCE PEOPLE THAT WE'RE GOOD, THAT WE'RE NOT WHAT

THEY THINK WE ARE, THAT THEY'VE GOT IT ALL WRONG ABOUT US.

BUT YOU SEE, JESUS DIDN'T CARE ABOUT HIS REPUTATION.

HE LET GOD TAKE CARE OF THAT.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: AMEN?

COME ON, SOME OF YOU ARE IN A MESS LIKE THAT RIGHT NOW.

YOU'RE BEING ACCUSED OF THINGS YOU DIDN'T DO.

YOUR REPUTATION'S ON THE LINE.

SOME PEOPLE ARE THINKING BAD THINGS ABOUT YOU AND WHAT

THEY'RE THINKING IS NOT EVEN TRUE.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO GET INTO TRYING TO DEFEND YOURSELF.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO TRY AND CONVINCE THEM THAT YOU'RE GOOD

AND THAT YOU DIDN'T DO WHAT THEY THINK YOU DID.

JUST KEEP QUIET, SERVE GOD, AND LET GOD TAKE CARE

YOUR REPUTATION.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: AMEN?

CAN WE RESPOND TO ACCUSATION THE WAY JESUS DID?

VERY OFTEN, HE DIDN'T ANSWER HIS ACCUSERS AT ALL.

THEY MUST HAVE THOUGHT HE WAS ONE UNIQUE GUY.

LUKE 23:9 AND 10, "SO HEROD ASKED HIM MANY QUESTIONS,

AND HE MADE NO REPLY."

YOU KNOW, SOMETIMES THE THINGS THAT PEOPLE SAY ARE SO STUPID,

THEY DON'T EVEN WARRANT AN ANSWER.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: REALLY.

AND I MEAN I REALIZE IN A CERTAIN SITUATION WITH A CERTAIN

PERSON THAT I DEAL WITH, I KIND OF GET INTO THAT BANTERING BACK

AND FORTH THAT IT JUST GETS REALLY STUPID, YOU KNOW?

AND I THOUGHT RECENTLY, WHY AM I EVEN BOTHERING TO ANSWER?

THAT DOES NOT EVEN DIGNIFY ME MAKING THE EFFORT TO ANSWER YOU.

AND I THINK SOMETIMES IF WE WOULD KEEP QUIET, GOD COULD

BRING CONVICTION.

DID YOU HEAR ME?

IF WE WOULD KEEP QUIET, GOD COULD BRING CONVICTION.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: DON'T ARGUE WITH PEOPLE ABOUT YOUR RELATIONSHIP

WITH GOD TRYING TO CONVINCE THEM TO BELIEVE.

YOU CAN'T MAKE SOMEBODY LOVE JESUS.

YOU CAN TELL THEM, BE A GOOD EXAMPLE, AND JUST ZIP YOUR LIP.

YOU CAN'T WIN EVERYBODY WITH WORDS.

A LOT OF PEOPLE YOU GOTTA WIN JUST BY BEING A GOOD EXAMPLE IN

FRONT OF THEM FOR A LONG...

COME ON, FOR A LONG, LONG TIME.

THE BIBLE TEACHES US THAT WE NEED TO BE LONG SUFFERING.

WELL, IT'S NOT LONG SUFFERING.

IT'S LOOONG SUFFERING.

"MEANWHILE, THE CHIEF PRIEST AND THE SCRIBES STOOD BY, CONTINUING

VEHEMENTLY AND VIOLENTLY TO ACCUSE HIM."

AND JESUS JUST STOOD THERE AND SAID NOTHING.

MARK 14:60 AND 61, "AND THE HIGH PRIEST

STOOD UP IN THE MIDST AND ASKED JESUS, HAVE YOU NOT EVEN

ONE ANSWER TO MAKE [ABOUT WHAT]

THESE [MEN] ARE TESTIFYING AGAINST YOU?

BUT HE KEPT STILL AND HE DID NOT ANSWER AT ALL."

YOU KNOW, WE WOULD BE WISE TO FOLLOW THE ADVICE OF JAMES THAT

WE READ THIS MORNING IN JAMES 1:19, "UNDERSTAND [THIS],

MY BELOVED BRETHREN.

BE QUICK TO HEAR [A READY LISTENER], SLOW TO SPEAK,

SLOW TO TAKE OFFENSE AND TO GET ANGRY."

HOW MANY OF YOU SAY A LITTLE BIT MORE THAN YOU SHOULD SAY ON

QUITE A FEW OCCASIONS IN YOUR LIFE?

THAT'S ALMOST EVERYBODY.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: DAVE DIDN'T RAISE HIS HAND BUT--

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: YOU NEED TO GET YOURS UP THERE TOO, CHARLIE.

SOMETIMES YOU-- [AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: HA, HA.

BEING ABLE TO CONTROL WHAT WE SAY IS A SIGN OF SPIRITUAL

MATURITY AND IT'S PROBABLY ONE OF THE NUMBER-ONE SIGNS

OF SPIRITUAL MATURITY.

TO GO THROUGH A DIFFICULT TIME AND NOT COMPLAIN--

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: SEE, THAT HURT JUST HEARING IT, DIDN'T IT?

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: I LOVE IT WHEN PEOPLE DO THAT.

[GROANING]

I MEAN, JUST, YOU KNOW, JUST TO GET THROUGH ANYTHING THAT'S

CHALLENGING AND NOT COMPLAIN.

I KNOW A FEW PEOPLE THAT HAVE GOT IT MASTERED.

I'M STILL ON MY WAY BECAUSE I'M VERY VERBAL.

MY GREATEST GIFT IS IN MY MOUTH BUT IT HAS ALSO BEEN ONE OF MY

GREATEST PROBLEMS.

SO, IF YOU DON'T NEED THIS TONIGHT, I'LL JUST PREACH TO

MYSELF 'CAUSE I'M ENJOYING IT QUITE A BIT.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: 1 CORINTHIANS CHAPTER 3, AND VERSE 1.

THIS IS A VERY INTERESTING THING THAT PAUL SAID.

"HOWEVER, BRETHREN, I COULD NOT TALK TO YOU AS TO SPIRITUAL

[MEN], BUT AS TO NONSPIRITUAL MEN [MEN OF THE FLESH, IN WHOM

THE CARNAL NATURE PREDOMINATES], I HAD TO TALK TO YOU AS MERE

INFANTS [IN THE NEW LIFE] IN CHRIST [UNABLE TO TALK YET!]."

NOW, WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?

OBVIOUSLY, THEY CAN TALK BUT HE'S SAYING, "I CAN LOCATE YOUR

LEVEL OF SPIRITUALITY AND I KNOW FROM LISTENING TO YOU THAT I

CAN'T REALLY FEED YOU THE MEAT OF THE WORD YET BECAUSE

YOU'RE STILL UNSPIRITUAL."

AND THEN HE GOES ON TO TALK ABOUT HOW THEY'RE ARGUING WITH

EACH OTHER, AND HAVING STRIFE WITH EACH OTHER, AND ALL THESE

DIFFERENT THINGS THAT WE LET GO ON.

NOW, AFTER WE TALK HERE JUST A FEW MORE MINUTES ABOUT

EVERYTHING THAT PAUL HAD TO SAY ABOUT THE MOUTH, WE'RE GONNA

SPEND A GOOD PART OF TIME TONIGHT TALKING ABOUT WHAT

TRUE WISDOM IS.

AND YOU'LL FIND THAT THE FIRST FACET OF TRUE GODLY WISDOM IS TO

BE PEACEFUL, TO BE PEACE LOVING AND TO BE PEACEFUL.

AND THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE IF WE DON'T LEARN SOME MEASURE

OF CONTROL OVER OUR WORDS.

HOW MANY OF YOU HAVE HAD A FAIR AMOUNT OF TEACHING ABOUT

THE POWER OF YOUR WORDS?

OKAY, HOW MANY OF YOU, THIS IS KIND OF NEW?

YOU'RE JUST LIKE, "I HAVEN'T REALLY HEARD THAT MUCH OF THIS."

LET'S SEE IF THAT'S THE CASE, YOU HAVEN'T REALLY HEARD THAT

MUCH OF THIS.

SO, IT WAS QUITE A FEW PEOPLE THAT ARE JUST LIKE... SEE?

COME ON, DON'T BE LIKE DOWN HERE.

I CAN'T SEE DOWN IN YOUR LAP.

I WANT TO--YOU KNOW?

WELL, I WANT YOU TO KNOW SOMETHING.

YOU NEED TO LISTEN WITH BOTH OF THE EARS ON YOUR HEAD AND BOTH

OF EARS IN YOUR SPIRIT BECAUSE THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT

WORD OF GOD FOR YOUR LIFE.

SOME OF YOU CAN TURN THINGS AROUND IN YOUR MARRIAGE

IF YOU'LL CHANGE THE THINGS THAT YOU SAY.

SOME OF YOU CAN CHANGE THINGS WITH YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR

CHILDREN IF YOU'LL CHANGE THINGS THAT YOU SAY.

SOME OF YOU CAN BE PROMOTED ON YOUR JOB IF YOU'LL CHANGE

THE WAY YOU TALK.

DON'T SIT AT THE LUNCH TABLE AND COMPLAIN AND MURMUR ABOUT--WITH

EVERYBODY ELSE ABOUT THE PLACE WHERE YOU WORK.

THANK GOD YOU'VE GOT A JOB AND IF YOU'RE NOT HAPPY WITH IT,

SOMEBODY ELSE WHO DOESN'T HAVE ONE WILL PROBABLY TAKE IT.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: THAT DOESN'T MEAN MAYBE YOU'RE BEING TREATED

GREAT.

THAT DOESN'T MEAN THAT YOU MIGHT NOT NEED A BETTER JOB OR YOU

MIGHT NOT WANT TO GET ANOTHER JOB BUT WHILE YOU'RE AT THE ONE

WHERE YOU'RE AT, BEHAVE.

AMEN?

"OUT OF THE SAME MOUTH COME FORTH BLESSING AND CURSING.

MY BRETHREN, THESE THINGS OUGHT NOT TO BE SO."

LET'S SHOW SOME SPIRITUAL MATURITY BY SAYING RIGHT THINGS.

YOU CAN LEARN SO MUCH ABOUT YOURSELF AND I CAN LEARN SO MUCH

ABOUT MYSELF.

YOU KNOW, SOMETIMES IF I HEAR MYSELF SAYING SOMETHING ABOUT

SOMEBODY ELSE THAT I THINK I LOVE, I HAVE TO ASK MYSELF,

WHAT'S IN THERE?

WHAT'S IN ME THAT BROUGHT THAT OUT?

BECAUSE THE WORD OF GOD SAYS THAT IT'S WHAT'S IN OUR HEART

THAT COMES OUT OF OUR MOUTHS.

WORDS ARE SO, SO, SO POWERFUL.

THERE'S SO MANY MORE THINGS THAT I COULD SHARE WITH YOU

BUT I WANT TO GO ON TO JAMES CHAPTER 3, VERSE 13,

AND I WANT TO TALK TO YOU ABOUT THE TRUE FRUIT OF WISDOM

BECAUSE A WISE MAN OR A WISE WOMAN WILL ALSO BE VERY

CAREFUL ABOUT WHAT THEY SAY.

LET ME JUST TAKE A LITTLE QUICK SURVEY AND ASK A QUESTION.

HOW MANY OF YOU--WE'LL JUST PICK ON THE LADIES FOR A MINUTE.

HOW MANY OF YOU THINK THAT YOU COULD CHANGE THE ATMOSPHERE IN

YOUR HOME BY CHANGING SOME OF THE THINGS YOU SAY?

UH-OH, WOW.

LOOK AT THAT.

WELL, WE'RE GONNA GET A LOT OF GOOD FRUIT OUT OF THIS

MESSAGE.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: HOW MANY OF YOU MEN THINK YOU COULD CHANGE THE--NO,

WAIT A MINUTE.

HOW MANY OF YOU MEN THINK THAT YOU COULD HAVE A MUCH HAPPIER

WIFE IF YOU TALKED TO HER A LITTLE DIFFERENTLY?

DAVE?

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: DO NOT SIT THERE LIKE A BLOCK OF WOOD.

YOU AND MIKE ARE BOTH JUST SITTING THERE LIKE--

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: NO, I HAVE TO SAY MY HUSBAND IS SO POSITIVE.

AND EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE WHEN I WANT TO BE NEGATIVE,

AND HE WON'T BE NEGATIVE WITH ME, IT'S ANNOYING.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: AMEN?

IF I'M IN A MOOD TO HAVE A FIT AND HE'S JUST GONNA TELL ME

EVERYTHING'S GONNA BE WONDERFUL, I'M JUST LIKE--WELL, YOU KNOW

WHAT I MEAN.

YOU CAN CHANGE THINGS JUST BY HOW YOU TALK.

"WELL, BLESS GOD."

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: "WHY DOES EVERYTHING HAVE TO BE MY RESPONSIBILITY?"

WELL, LET ME JUST SAY THIS, WHOEVER DOES THE RIGHT THING

FIRST IS THE MOST POWERFUL PERSON.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: WHOEVER DOES THE RIGHT THING FIRST IS THE MOST POWERFUL

PERSON.

NOW, WISDOM IS TO BE SOUGHT AFTER.

AND I DON'T HAVE TIME TO GET INTO PROVERBS BUT, BOY, PROVERBS

IS SO POWERFUL ABOUT WISDOM.

IT'S REALLY THE BEGINNING OF A BLESSED LIFE.

AND IF YOU DEFINE WISDOM, I'VE HEARD IT SAID THAT IT'S THE

PROPER USE OF KNOWLEDGE, WHICH THAT'S VERY TRUE BECAUSE IT

DOESN'T DO US ANY GOOD TO KNOW ANYTHING IF WE DON'T USE IT

PROPERLY.

SOMETIMES PEOPLE HAVE GOT SO MUCH KNOWLEDGE THAT IT ACTUALLY

STEALS THEIR FAITH AND CAUSES ALL KINDS OF PROBLEMS IN

RELATIONSHIPS.

BUT I HAVE MY OWN LITTLE DEFINITION OF WISDOM AND I THINK

IT'S FAIRLY ACCURATE AND SO I'LL JUST GIVE YOU WHAT I THINK

WISDOM IS.

I THINK WISDOM IS TO DO NOW WHAT YOU'LL BE HAPPY WITH LATER

IN LIFE.

I THINK WISDOM THINKS THINGS THROUGH BECAUSE IF YOU READ

PROVERBS, WISDOM INVOLVES PRUDENCE, WHICH IS GOOD

MANAGEMENT.

IT INVOLVES DISCERNMENT, WHICH MEANS THAT WE LOOK BEYOND

JUST THE SURFACE OF THINGS INTO THE DEEPER MEANING OF MAYBE

WHAT'S GOING ON.

YOU SEE, A PERSON WHO HAS NO WISDOM WILL DO WHAT WE SAID THIS

MORNING WE SHOULDN'T DO.

THEY'LL SEE SOMEBODY THAT'S NOT LIKE THEM OR MAYBE LOOKS WHAT

THEY WOULD THINK IS A LITTLE ODD AND THEY SIZE THEM UP AS BEING

A GOOFBALL.

BUT SOMEBODY WHO HAS GOT SOME WISDOM WILL SEE BEYOND THAT AND

ACTUALLY TAKE THE TIME TO FIND OUT THE HEART OF THE PERSON.

AND SO, WISDOM, WOW, IT'S JUST A GREAT, GREAT, GREAT THING

TO STUDY.

BUT NOW IF WE LOOK AT JAMES CHAPTER 3,

BEGINNING IN VERSE 13, IT SAYS THAT, "WHO IS THERE

AMONG YOU WHO IS WISE AND INTELLIGENT?

THEN LET HIM BY HIS NOBLE LIVING SHOW FORTH HIS [GOOD] WORKS WITH

THE [UNOBTRUSIVE] HUMILITY [WHICH IS THE PROPER ATTRIBUTE]

OF TRUE WISDOM."

SO, FIRST OF ALL, A PROUD PERSON,

A PERSON WHO IS HAUGHTY, AND WALKS IN PRIDE AND IS FULL

OF HIMSELF, AND THINKS HE'S BETTER THAN OTHER PEOPLE, AND

SMARTER THAN OTHER PEOPLE DOES NOT HAVE ONE DROP OF WISDOM.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: THANK YOU.

"IF YOU HAVE JEALOUSY AND (ENVY) AND CONTENTION," WHICH IS

STRIFE, "(AND SELFISH AMBITION) IN YOUR HEARTS, DO NOT PRIDE

YOURSELVES ON IT AND THUS BE IN DEFIANCE OF AND FALSE TO

THE TRUTH."

THAT IS NOT WISDOM EITHER.

IT'S FOOLISH TO BE JEALOUS OF WHAT SOMEBODY ELSE HAS BECAUSE

THAT'S NEVER GONNA GET YOU WHAT THEY HAVE.

THE ONLY WAY WE'RE EVER GONNA GET ANYTHING IS TO ASK GOD FOR

IT AND LET HIM GIVE IT TO US IN HIS OWN WAY AND IN HIS OWN TIME.

IT'S FOOLISH FOR US TO COMPARE OURSELVES TO OTHER PEOPLE

BECAUSE GOD IS NEVER GONNA HELP US BE SOMEBODY ELSE.

HE'S ONLY GONNA HELP YOU BE YOU.

YOU SHOULDN'T EVEN COMPARE YOUR PRAYER LIFE TO SOMEBODY ELSE'S

PRAYER LIFE.

IT WOULD BE TOTALLY USELESS FOR YOU TO ASK ME HOW LONG I PRAY

EVERY DAY BECAUSE EVEN IF I KNEW, WHICH I DON'T,

I WOULDN'T TELL YOU.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: YOU KNOW WHY?

BECAUSE I DON'T WANT ANYBODY COMPARING THEMSELVES TO ANYBODY

ELSE WHEN IT COMES TO YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD.

YOU ARE A UNIQUE INDIVIDUAL AND GOD WANTS TO HAVE A UNIQUE,

AND AN INTIMATE, AND A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH YOU.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: AND THIS IS ONE OF THE THINGS THAT IT MEANS WHEN

THE BIBLE SAYS, "WHOM THE SON SETS FREE IS FREE INDEED."

YOU ARE FREE TO BE UNIQUE.

THE WORLD MAY THINK YOU'RE WEIRD, BUT GOD JUST WANTS YOU

TO BE UNIQUE.

"BUT THE WISDOM THAT IS FROM ABOVE IS FIRST OF ALL PURE

(UNDEFILED); PEACE-LOVING."

LET ME ASK YOU A QUESTION, DO YOU LOVE PEACE?

OKAY, CAN I TELL YOU SOMETHING?

YOU'RE NEVER GONNA HAVE IT IF YOU DON'T HAVE IT ON PURPOSE.

I SAID, YOU'RE NEVER GONNA HAVE IT IF YOU DON'T HAVE IT

ON PURPOSE.

YOU GOTTA PURSUE IT.

YOU GOTTA SEEK IT.

AND YOU GOTTA GO AFTER IT.

AND YOU GOTTA MAKE WHATEVER CHANGES YOU NEED TO MAKE IN YOUR

LIFE AND IN YOUR BEHAVIOR IN ORDER TO HAVE PEACE BECAUSE

PEACE IS ONE OF THE MOST VALUABLE, MOST POWERFUL THINGS

THAT WE CAN HAVE.

PEACE IS CONNECTED TO GOD'S ANOINTING AND IT'S CONNECTED TO

HIS BLESSINGS IN OUR LIFE.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: PEACE.

I TELL YA, I LIVED IN THE WAR ZONE ALL MY LIFE AND I FINALLY

GOT TO THE POINT, ESPECIALLY I WOULD WATCH DAVE AND SEE HOW

PEACEFUL HE WAS AND I JUST THOUGHT, MAYBE I COULD HAVE

THAT TOO.

I GREW UP IN TURMOIL AND I STAYED FULL OF TURMOIL FOR

MANY, MANY, MANY YEARS.

IT DIDN'T TAKE MUCH AT ALL TO UPSET ME, TO OFFEND ME, TO GET

ME OFF IN A WRONG DIRECTION.

AND WHEN I GOT TO THE POINT WHERE I WANTED PEACE SO BAD THAT

I WAS WILLING TO CHANGE WHATEVER I HAD TO CHANGE IN MY LIFE IN

ORDER TO HAVE IT, I STARTED HAVING PEACE.

DO YOU KNOW THAT I FOUND OUT THAT TO FIGHT WITH SOMEBODY TO

TRY TO PROVE THAT I'M RIGHT IS NOT WORTH THE LITTLE FLESHLY

ZING I GET OUT OF IT JUST TO SAY, "I WAS RIGHT.

SEE, I WAS RIGHT."

YOU KNOW, BEING RIGHT IS HIGHLY OVERRATED AND IT COSTS YOU A LOT

MORE THAN IT'S WORTH WHEN YOU GET IT.

WE NEED TO DO A LITTLE MORE OF WHAT JESUS DID.

JUST KEEP QUIET AND IF SOMEBODY WANTS TO THINK THEY'RE RIGHT,

LET THEM THINK THEY'RE RIGHT.

AND IF YOU NEED TO BE PROVEN TO BE RIGHT, LET'S LET GOD DO

THE PROVING INSTEAD OF TRYING TO DO IT OURSELVES.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: ESPECIALLY OVER PETTY STUFF THAT DOESN'T EVEN MAKE

ANY SENSE AT ALL.

COME ON, I KNOW SOME OF THE ARGUMENTS YOU HAVE BECAUSE

DAVE AND I USED TO HAVE 'EM.

WE DON'T MESS WITH IT ANYMORE BUT--YOU GET OLD ENOUGH, YOU

FINALLY REALIZE THAT YOU DON'T HAVE ANYMORE DAYS TO WASTE BEING

MAD OVER SOMETHING STUPID.

HOW MANY OF YOU HAVE EVER ARGUED OVER WHICH DIRECTIONS TO TAKE TO

GO SOMEWHERE?

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: AND DON'T EXPECT HIM TO STOP AND ASK FOR DIRECTIONS

BECAUSE HE WON'T.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: THAT'S NOT A MALE TRAIT.

THEY CANNOT ASK FOR DIRECTIONS.

MY GOODNESS, SOMEBODY MIGHT THINK THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT

THEY'RE DOING AND THAT WOULD BE TRAGIC.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: WHOO!

JESUS.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: WISDOM.

MORE WISDOM COULD SAVE A MARRIAGE.

PEACE IS SO WONDERFUL.

VERSE 15 SAYS, "[SUPERFICIAL]

WISDOM IS NOT SUCH AS COMES DOWN FROM ABOVE, BUT IS EARTHLY,

UNSPIRITUAL (ANIMAL), EVEN DEVILISH AND (DEMONIACAL]

FOR WHEREVER--" NOW, I WANT YOU TO LISTEN TO

THIS 'CAUSE THIS IS GOOD FOR YOUR HOMES.

"FOR WHEREVER THERE IS JEALOUSY (ENVY) AND CONTENTION," WHICH IS

STRIFE, "(RIVALRY AND SELFISH AMBITION), THERE WILL ALSO BE

CONFUSION (UNREST, DISHARMONY, REBELLION) AND ALL SORTS OF EVIL

AND VILE PRACTICES."

CAN I JUST SAY MOM AND DAD, IF YOU'RE GONNA HAVE A HOME FULL OF

STRIFE, YOU CAN EXPECT YOUR KIDS TO BE REBELLIOUS.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: THANK YOU FOR THAT LITTLE BIT OF AGREEMENT.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: BUT THE WISDOM FROM ABOVE.

YOU KNOW, THERE'S EARTHLY WISDOM.

THERE'S PEOPLE THAT THINK THEY'RE WISE AND THAT THEY KNOW

SO MUCH, BUT WE LIVE BY A DIFFERENT KIND OF WISDOM.

HERE'S AN EXAMPLE, I HAD A MAN HELPING ME WITH MY TAXES ONE

TIME THAT TOLD ME I WAS GIVING TOO MUCH MONEY TO THE CHURCH.

WELL, SEE, HE DIDN'T HAVE THE WISDOM I HAD.

MATTER OF FACT, HE TOLD ME, "IT'S NOT WISE."

AND I THOUGHT, "WELL, YOU JUST DON'T GET IT.

IT'S THE WISEST THING THAT I DO."

AND THERE'S SO MANY THINGS LIKE THAT IF WE'RE GONNA HAVE TRUE

WISDOM, THE GOD KIND OF WISDOM.

SEE, IT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE TO THE NATURAL MIND TO FORGIVE

YOUR ENEMIES.

IT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE TO THE NATURAL MIND TO NOT TRY TO

DEFEND YOURSELF WHEN SOMEBODY FALSELY ACCUSES YOU.

BUT WE HAVE ANOTHER EXAMPLE, HIS NAME IS JESUS AND WE GET TO NOT

ONLY BELIEVE IN HIM, BUT TO FOLLOW HIS EXAMPLE AND HAVE

THE BEST LIFE THAT WE CAN POSSIBLY HAVE.

JESUS SAID, AND IT'S RECORDED IN JOHN 14, "MY PEACE I LEAVE WITH

YOU, NOT AS THE WORLD GIVES DO I GIVE UNTO YOU.

MY OWN SPECIAL PEACE I NOW GIVE AND BEQUEATH UNTO YOU."

SO, STOP ALLOWING YOURSELVES TO BE UPSET AND DISTURBED.

HOW MANY OF YOU WOULD BE WILLING TO ZIP YOUR LIP IF IT MEANT THAT

YOU CAN SAVE A DAY OF UPSET?

YOU GOT YOUR HANDS UP.

WE'LL SEE THE NEXT TIME SOMEBODY SAYS SOMETHING WHAT HAPPENS.

LORD, PLEASE DON'T LET ME GET TESTED ON THIS MESSAGE TONIGHT.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: I'M SORRY.

I JUST FELT THE URGE TO PRAY.

JOYCE: WELL, BY LEARNING TO CONTROL WHAT WE SAY AS JESUS

DID SHOWS A SIGN OF SPIRITUAL MATURITY AND IT CAN YIELD GREAT

Japanese Urban Legend Dolls: TERU TERU BOZU - Duration: 5:22.

Today I'm going to speak about a traditional Japanese doll called Teru Teru Bozu

Today Seba is going to speak about a traditional japanese doll

the Teru Teru Bozu

it's a little doll that you hang up on the window, to drive away the rain

I'm sure that you saw it in a lot of animes!

Hello guys and welcome to a new video!

I'm here today also at the Governament palace to shoot a new video.

Well, I made videos last week and it rained...

so, today I wanted to talk about rain,

about this little japanese doll called Teru Teru Bozu, that is connected with the rain...

the sun came out, obviously...

I'm so lucky...

However I wanted to talk about this typical japanese doll - Teru Teru Bozu.

Maybe you saw it in some Anime,

it's white, it looks a little bit like a ghost and they put them in front of the doors,

it has a big head on top and the the body, it looks a little bit like Casper.

It's very easy to do with the use of some tissues.

If you want that I do a video where I do the Teru Teru Bozu, leave a comment and maybe I will do it.

It's very easy, even I can do it

So, I'm doing always my researches,

look at that! I'm a straight-A student

...

This doll is an amulet that you hang on the doors and people say that it should protect you from the rain.

There is a story of this Teru Teru Bozu on the italian Wikipedia,

it's a story that I personally never heard about, however I'm going to read it

I assure you that this is not the most interesting story behind this doll,

later on I'm going to tell you the most popular and funny ones.

There are a lot of stories...personally I trust more the Japanese sites,

but I just want to tell you also the italian version.

The use of the Teru Bozu would result from his ability to frighten Amefushi, the spirit of the rain

Amefushi is considered to be an enemy for the children, because it prevents them from playing outdoor.

Amefushi isn't in reality evil, he only needs to feel accepted by the other children, which he would like to play with

but since he brings the rain, the children push him away ("loser")

so, in that way Amefushi punishes them.

Anyway, a more interesting story...

a Japanese friend of mine told me a more interesting story

It's a beautiful story about Amefushi,

One upon a time in a far country in Japan

there was a never ending rain,

you need to know that in Japan there is the rain season that lasts 2 weeks

this divinity said to the people:

"if you're not giving me a beautiful woman in sacrifice, I will destroy your city."

I'm not sure which city was the capital at that time, between Nara or Kyoto

it's a story that has been told during different times, so, I don't know.

However they gave the woman in sacrifice,

and she died, obviously, and the divinity turned the sky back to the blue color as thank you.

Since that time, people started to make this dolls to thank that woman,

because she was a Origami fan...

The second story that I like the most

talks about a Bozu, a buddhist monk

Teru I think it means shiny - not cloudy - crystalline? Ok, I don't know.

There was another rain season,

people called this very famous buddhist monk to ask him to stop the rain.

The monk did this kind of sound (okkio), it's a melody, that sound you can find it a little bit in my song Inori (I leave you the link)

it's like this...

Every time that I listen to it, my hairstylist says that it sounds like rap - so give her the fault.

He preayed, but the next day nothing changed,

so the citizens upset said:

"we called the Bozu, he came especially here to turn the sky blue again

and we prayed the whole day, but nothing changed..."

So what did the citizens do? They cut his head off and they hang it on a white string

and so from that this tradition was born.

Last news about the Teru Teru Bozu:

never do it in black, because that brings rain,

never hang it up side down, because it brings rain,

these are the beliefs

and do that if you want that the rain stops.

I hope you enjoyed watching, if you have questions, leave a comment.

Let me know if I should do the Teru Bozu doll

See you tomorrow always at 2pm (GMT+1).

Korean Internet Shopping Mall, $100 Try On HAUL-Dejou (ENG CC) - Duration: 9:42.

Hi guys

It's Kyung-Ah from Ryu's Penna

This is the teenager shopping mall HAUL, since two months ago

I used a shopping mall called Dejou this time

Really, I bought many things with $100

Then, shall we start right away my Dejou $100 HAUL?

First, I'll show you the basic items

Tada~ A must-have turtleneck T-shirt 6,500won

I bought two different colors of turtle necks

One of them is black and the other is brown

This kind of basics are useful all around, so I bought them

I usually wear Uniclo's Heat-Tech in black and white

But… since it's so thin

Sometimes it looks a bit cheap

So, I wanted something in fabric

This kind of basic items are good with coats

And if you layer them with sweatshirts or sweaters, it's really pretty and warm

I recommend to have at least two colors of these

But the thing is..

Since it's so thin, when it's so cold

Like when the forecast is too cold?

Then it's too cold to wear only this itself, so consider it

It's just a cloth of fabric

The fit is also basic, so it's really useful

Next is, Ta da~ Balloon napping MTM 11,900won

At first glance, it just looks like a sweatshirt

But this~

The point is this puff sleeve

The puff sleeve makes the fit so~ cute

Doesn't this look so cute at the first eye?

This doesn't have any printing or details

But the fit itself is so cute, so I bought it for many uses

And the inside is thick napping

So, it'll be warm to wear

And if you think of this part empty, you can patch things also

Or if you match it with big and bold necklaces it'll be pretty

Next is~ Ta da~ V neck knit 10,900won

A knitted sweater

If you've seen my HAUL clips

I tend to buy many colors of the things that I think pretty

So, I bought two of these knits

One is brown and the other is sky blue

The sky-blue knit would be really pretty with the brown turtle neck, so I chose it

Brown is very useful

Especially in winter, don't you style with warm colors?

When you do that, doesn't this look nice?

It has a very basic fit, but it's pretty

This is a very thin knit than it looks like

But I wore this once

If you've seen my Christmas Lotteworld clip, I wore this that day

I layered this and a turtle neck, and it was warmer than I expected

So, I think I'll wear this knit often

And if you see this knit's organization

The neckline and the body is different, so this gives a point

Even this hasn't any embroidery or printing and detail

This different organization prevents it becoming boring and makes it useful

Next is~ Ta da~ cozy check muffler 10,900won

What would this be?

It's a muffler

Tada~

But it's really long and really big

I'll open it

This…

Doesn't even go in the screen

LOOK AT THIS SIZE! OMG!

Isn't it big?

This is a muffler

But it's so large, you can use it as a blanket

I bought this to just hang it around easily

And I like long mufflers than short ones

And this

Is pretty if you just hang it on the coat

If you've seen my winter styling clip, you'll know

Just hanging this on a shoulder and holding it with a belt makes a unique and pretty styling

And long ones like this, is good if you hang it like this

It'll be real warm since it's large and long

I'm even hot right now ..LOL

Now the skirts~

Skirts are~ Ta da~ Tree check tennis skirt 15,500won

Isn't this pretty?

I'm in love with preppy look these days

So, I bought a tennis skirt that has a preppy mood

Actually, this is my first tennis skirt that I bought regularly

I didn't like tennis skirts when they were in fashion

I don't like to follow trends

This one looked very pretty

The checks are pretty

And since it's wool, it's warm

This is also a skirt with pants inside

So, you don't need to wear inner pants

It's just pants inside, so it's comfortable

I put a sweatshirt inside it, and the fit was still nice

Next is a must in cold winter!

Ta da! Acorn napping long check skirt 12,900won

A long skirt!

I didn't mean to, but this is also checkered

Honestly, I'm a checkered mania! LOL

Well, this came with a belt in a set

But the belt…

Honestly, the material isn't good

But, it seemed useful in other outfits, so I decided to keep it

This is also wool, and it's really warm

It's so thick

Just wearing leggings inside is the end, it's so warm

Pleats style is popular these days, but this is made wider

It's unique

You can call it a flare skirt

The natural wrinkles are the charming point

It isn't as long as I thought

But the material is strong and this helps he silhouette to look pretty

A little sad point is

That this material's thread pops out more than the tennis skirt's

But the good is that the pretty checks hide the pops of thread

It doesn't show out, right?

And the unique checkered patterns are also the point I like

Now, finally it's the last item

It's!

Ta da~ A coat that is simply not available at this price. Part 3 37,500won

Yeah, it's a coat!

I don't know how I bought these items and also a coat with $100

I think I can bluff that I did good shopping

I wore this one time and it was warm

It was quilted inside!

I was surprised

Because it's about $30, and it was quilted and warm

Honestly, I didn't expect much LOL

But it was more than I thought

And the length was just good, so pretty outfits are possible with this

This kind of basic coat is really useful

And it doesn't matter the trend, so you can wear it next year also

Yeah, it' the best

The length and the fit are all good

I matched this coat with the items I showed you ago, and they looked well

I think I'll wear this often

Well guys, this is the end to my $100 Dejou HAUL

It might slightly be more than $100

But guys, wasn't this shopping really nice?

It's been a while since I found a really nice shopping mall with good prices, so I'm really happy

Winter has still about two months left

So, I hope you guys prepare winter items before you're late

Well. This is the end to this clip

If it was fun or useful

♥Likes and subscribes please ♥

See ya~ in the next clip

Bye~

Essence Of Murli 10-01-2018 - Duration: 7:13.

Om Shanti !

Today's Murli Date Is 10th January 2018

Essence: Sweet children, to remember a corporeal body is to be element (evil spirit) ( Today Baba used word evil spirit instead of body consciousness )

because bodies are made of the five elements.

You have to become soul conscious and remember the one bodiless Father.

Question: What is the most elevated task which only the Father carries out?

Answer: To make the whole tamopradhan world satopradhan and constantly happy is the most elevated task which only the Father carries out.

Because of this elevated task, His memorials have been made very great.

Question: Which two terms hold the secrets of the whole drama?

Answer: Worthy of worship and worshipper. When you are worthy of worship, you are the most elevated

Then you become the middle quality & then the lowest.

Maya changes you from being worthy of worship into worshippers.

Song: The Flame has ignited in the gathering of the moths

Essence for dharna: 1. Consider yourself to be an incorporeal soul and remember the incorporeal Father, not any bodily beings.

Die alive and remove the old things of the past from your intellect.

2. You have to surrender yourself completely in this sacrificial fire of the knowledge of Rudra that the Father has created.

Do the service of converting shudras to the Brahmin religion.

Do the service of converting shudras to the Brahmin religion.

Blessing: May you be an elevated server who "wills" power to everyone with your own will power. ( Have you willed ? Made others will ? If not then do so )

( To will means to seek power from Baba and insure for future )

At present, some souls are thirsty for your co-operation,

( Those whom we serve, those who are non BK's are keen to extend co-operation to us )

for they don't have any power of their own. ( You will have to grant them power hence instrument souls need to possess all powers )

Just as Father Brahma in his final moments willed his powers to the children so that this task is being carried out with that will,

so, follow the father in the same way.

Will your powers to souls and service will be completed according to the time.

Slogan: Where there is the power of unity and concentration, success is easily achieved.

To the sweetest, beloved, long-lost and now-found children, love, remembrance and good morning from the Mother, the Father, BapDada.

The spiritual Father says namaste to the spiritual children.

We spiritual children convey to spiritual Baapdada, our love our remembrance, our good morning & our namaste namaste

Om Shanti !

What's the Strongest Glue for PolyMAX- the Strongest PLA? - Duration: 9:15.

Alright today we are going to test some glues here.

I watched some videos online some where YouTubers tested filament strength.

I have Polymax. I printed with the Polymax filament.

People use different kinds of glue to glue them together but some of the glues I can't find in China.

That's why I went online and did some research to find

which ones are the most common and available internationally

so that you guys can find it in your country too.

I've got the Loctite 411

Same brand Loctite 454

Loctite 401

and Loctite 435

I don't know what those numbers mean that's why we're going to test it out.

But they are all CA (cyanoacrylate) glue.

We've got the UHU glue here.

I think you can easily find it in Europe and Asia but I'm not sure about in America.

Last we have the hot glue here. Everyone knows hot glue, it's easy for everybody to find.

So I'm going to test all these glues with Polymax filament.

As far as I know it is the strongest PLA filament.

I know there are filaments that are a bit stronger but they are more difficult to print with.

I think the Polymax is a good balance between filament strength and ease of printing.

So let's test it out and let me put on a mask first.

I'm going to put on a mask not just for the safety issues but also because it's very cold outside

and I don't want to open the windows.

I know you guys are going to make fun of me, but since you're going to make fun of me anyway

then of course I'm going to put it on.

I forgot my gloves.

So it has been... I have waited overnight and I dug up my scale.

It was used but it was cheap and I got it.

The maximum weight for it is 5 kilos.

For the Polymax a lot of people have already tested the strength.

They know it is strong but for me I'm just going to test the glue- how strong the glue is.

I'm going to round it down to the nearest 1/4 of kilogram.

So now let's put it in the vise.

This is the hot glue, the first one we are going to test is the hot glue.

Oh. That is super weak. That is like 0.25 kg.

So the filament broke before the glue but I only printed the infill at 10%.

I don't know if I print it stronger what would happen

Right now I'm just going to write down the number.

So 435 is 2 kg.

Now let's test the 401.

Same thing it's Loctite glue.

It is 1.25 kg.

This time the filament I didn't break it just came off. So I guess this glue is not as strong as the 435.

So 401 is 1.25.

Now let's test the 454.

The 454 is only 0.25 it's very weak.

So you might notice that I use small pieces of plastic and small amounts of glue to test the strength.

I don't want to work with something large and heavy. It might be dangerous for me.

But I still think the result will be pretty accurate.

So let's test out the shear strength of the glue.

0.75 kg

The PLA broke.

That is 2.75 kg for the 454.

Now lets test the strongest 435 see if that's really the strongest.

Also the plastic breaks

A lot of people say CA gel is the strongest

But it turns out to the Loctite 435 is stronger than the 454.

Maybe in other countries (the formula) will be different I don't know.

The UHU is not right for this application.

The hot glue, great stuff but also not for this.

So I'm going to use the 435 for my project.

Again I have to thank Polymaker for sending me the Polymax to test out.

The only reason the PLA broke is because I printed at 10%.

Usually when I print 20% to 30% it never breaks like that.

Because this time I printed at 10% that's why it broke.

But in general the Polymax is super strong and really easy to print.

That's all I'm going to work on my project.

Remember if I can do it anyone can do it.

Thanks a lot for watching.

Katie Gately: Sound Processing - Duration: 7:58.

So this is my studio.

I start pieces standing up, and I throw around ideas, loop things,

try out different effects processing.

When I have an overall sense of the shape of the piece,

I will transition to my desktop computer.

And here I can sit and carve, and do all the tedious iterations

that you have to do when you're producing a track.

Essentially I work sitting and I play standing.

I'm gonna start by showing you how I process sounds initally,

these are some field recordings from around my house and around downtown Los Angeles.

And usually what I do, is I will start with a little sound and loop it

and then start adding effects rather quickly to get some exciting process sound.

So this sound is my oven, which makes sort of a vocal sound,

but it's certainly grounded in Earth reality.

In this version I have looped it and doubled the length of time it takes for each loop, in Live.

So this to me feels much more like an alien screaming.

It's almost like an agonized sound, which I really like.

And...

I added some effects to it.

Here it's sort of getting chopped up, and the way it sounds to me is like someone is trying to speak

but they're being interrupted.

So often I'll take sounds that are not human, not at all human,

and I try to perhaps make them speak, give them a voice.

One other thing I have is a little tap sound that when I first heard it, was not very interesting.

But that's sometimes the fun challenge, to take something that is not interesting

and doesn't stand out and try to, like, push it, to see if it can be exciting.

And then I've played with splitting the frequencies, so I have a little rack in Live

and I've split the high frequencies, the mids and the lows.

And on the highs I've put this delay, and so it's only affecting those highs.

And then the mids, I've put...

this effect that's moving around, and it's...

there's a bunch of different effects in here.

The lows I usually don't do much to. I'll often just actually cut them a little bit.

Because effects in the lows, at least for me, don't... you can't hear them very well.

And then because I like this, but it's a little extreme

to have all your highs going through a delay.

I just have a dry... a duplicated...

well another channel, and it's dry, and this one is...

Frequency Splitter - so it's like the wet channel.

And I'll mix those together.

Next I have a scanner sound.

Very tonal. There's the musicality there.

And I wanted to see how much I could change the sound,

how could I make this as little like the original as possible.

And so I tryed to push it back into this washy, big kind of ocean sound.

By...

adding delay. Again, pitching it down 2 octaves.

Some distortion, another delay, some EQ bringing up the highs,

cutting some of the lows.

And I will play with the wetness, in terms of how far away I want it to feel, I'll use delays.

The goal is sort of to create something that sings, that actually is maybe just an impact sound

or a really dull sound.

I feel this urge to try to make mundane objects beautiful or scary or threatening,

to give them as much power as possible.

I don't know why this is something I feel compelled to do,

but it's very much a compulsive instinct I have.

Lemurs and lots of animals will have animal calls that sound a bit like a saxophone, or...

some kind of brass.

So here's a lemur.

And then the same sort of notes are being played by these samples,

so they combine, in my mind, to something greater than just lemur samples or saxophones,

it becomes this exotic orchestra that could never really exist in the real world.

This is a pitched-down lemur.

Sometimes when I work with traditional instrumentation, because I'm not a trained pianist,

or guitarist, I feel like I have to add something interesting and different

that would reflect my own perspective.

So I was making this song with basic piano line,

and I thought what if I record each note separately.

And then I process them separately,

so I can create something that sounds bigger and stranger than a piano,

but is basically a piano.

So it sounds like this altogether.

And if I just solo tracks you'll see this note.

There's a little bit of auto pan, I have an EQ there.

This note is similar, but a different kind of panning.

This third note, I have some bit reduction and like a filter that's doing random sweeps.

And...

Down here I have some distortion and another filter doing something else.

Later in the track I will bring in a piano that's "normal", it's recorded just on one track

and I'm not separating any notes.

But together when you combine them it's interesting

cos you have a stable piano and then sort of a wildwest piano.

And just really to have this sense of the piano kind of like a ghost moving around the room,

I added these little details on specific notes.

And...

later I have another effect - it's like a reversed, distorted panning note.

And in context it sounds like...

AG Jeff Sessions declared open season on states where pot is leg - Duration: 5:31.

AG Jeff Sessions declared open season on states where

pot is legal, but heres why his policy change WONT MATTER

Last week Attorney General Jeff Sessions set off a firestorm when he announced he was reversing

an Obama-era policy that instructed federal prosecutors not to target states and individuals

where recreational marijuana had been approved by voters.

The decision led Natural News founder Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, to rightfully call

on Sessions to resign, given that the Justice Department he runs is currently targeting

President Donald J. Trump for a bogus Russia collusion allegation.

By declaring war on legalized cannabis, Jeff Sessions demonstrates once and for all

that he is hopelessly out of touch with America and incapable of focusing on the far greater

priorities of investigating Uranium One and FBI corruption, Adams said.

As it turns out, though the policy reversal stands, it very well might not mean much in

practical terms, according to experts and former federal prosecutors.

Joseph diGenova, a former U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia in the 1980s when

Sessions was serving in the same capacity in Alabama, told Lifezette that Sessions

memo to prosecutors makes it clear they will have discretion over which cases to bring.

Not much is going to change except the policy, he said. (Related: As California

legalizes pot, few smokers realize cannabis is often contaminated with pesticides, mold,

heavy metals and chemical toxins.)

James Cole, the deputy attorney general under AG Eric Holder, penned a memo in 2011 that

directed the Justice Department to all but ignore businesses that were licensed to sell

pot under state laws that legalized the drug.

That directive remained the priority so long as states worked to stop the spread of marijuana

from their jurisdiction to other states where voters had yet to legalize it while preventing

pot sales to children.

When he rescinded the policy, Sessions instructed U.S. attorneys to enforce drug laws as enacted

by Congress and, well, marijuana for recreational use remains against federal law. Sessions

said that the Obama-era policy undermined the rule of law and the ability of our

local, state, tribal, and federal law enforcement partners to carry out this mission of combating

illegal drugs.

Therefore, todays memo on federal marijuana enforcement simply directs all U.S. attorneys

to use previously established prosecutorial principles that provide them all the necessary

tools to disrupt criminal organizations, tackle the growing drug crisis, and thwart violent

crime across our country, he wrote.

Needless to say, the policy change has sparked outrage from lawmakers in states that have

legalized its recreational use.

As Lifezette reported, Rep. Ted Lieu, D-Calif., tweeted, A list of things more important

for federal prosecutors and federal law enforcement to pursue other than marijuana: 1. Basically

anything. (I wonder, Mr. Lieu, does that also include enforcement of all immigration

laws?)

Rep. Earl Blumenauer, D-Oregon, tweeted that the policy change is outrageous and

perhaps one of the stupidest decisions the attorney general has made.

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., an ally of Sessions and Trump, nevertheless disapproved. I

think its a mistake for the Department of Justice to do this, he told Fox News

Laura Ingraham.

But he also said enforcement will be virtually impossible. They would have to send an army

[of] federal troops in there.

That isnt going to happen, said diGenova. Rather, he predicts that federal prosecutors

will be focusing their limited resources on marijuana trafficking by criminal organizations

and drug gangs.

There is going to be a black market, he predicted. Because of taxation and the

cost of packaging and quality control, there will be a very, very large black market.

In some ways Sessions decision is understandable; it is against federal law to use marijuana

recreationally. And if were going to be upset about other administrations selectively

enforcing federal laws against, say, mishandling of classified information, then we cant

allow the current administration to selectively enforce laws, either.

But there is a solution and Paul hit on it during his Fox interview: Have Congress change

the law to let states decide what they want to do.

Thats called federalism, and it is one of our founding principles of government.

Things In The Oregon Trail Game You Only Notice As An Adult - Duration: 4:59.

If you're of a certain age, you'll probably remember booting up your MS-DOS school computer

and typing in the commands to start up The Oregon Trail.

It was one of the few options that let you get away with playing a game as part of your

schoolwork back in the day.

And between the graphics, the music, and the fact that you could shotgun a bunch of delicious

wildlife instead of taking another typing test made Oregon Trail nothing short of an

epic adventure.

Of course, the game hasn't aged super well, but there are some things you might notice

about it as an adult that didn't quite come through in your younger years.

Wasting wildlife

No matter how much food you bought for the trip, you were almost guaranteed to run out

of munchies somewhere around the midpoint.

The good news was you could take your little bald self hunting in a fun mini-game, but

there was a catch.

No matter how much you hunted, the game would only let you carry 100 pounds back to your

cholera-ridden, accident-prone family.

So, why did it let you keep executing animals?

That seems like a poor lesson to teach kids about creating waste, right?

Well, it's actually an accurate depiction of what happened across the West as humans

stampeded their way through nature, which, by the way, had done just fine for centuries

under the stewardship of the Native American tribes who called it home.

We believed in the Myth of Superabundance, and it basically said there was so much good

stuff in the western part of the U.S. that we could take whatever we wanted and it wouldn't

matter.

In other words, when your 10-year-old self was gleefully shooting everything that came

in range, you were reenacting what your terrible ancestors once did to real animals.

But there was a better way ...

Happy hunting

Staying on the subject of the game's hunting option, there was a method for smart hunting

you may not have noticed as a kid.

Instead of shooting up whatever wilderness you happened across, you could have easily

maximized your hunting trips to spend just a few bullets and earn that 100 pounds of

food.

And more importantly, you could've saved precious time that would help keep you out of the snowstorms

later.

The color of the ground changed based on the kind of terrain you were on, and the animals

that showed up were based on the current type of terrain.

If you waited for a green prairie to start spraying bullets you'd get a buffalo, but

if you hit the desert, you'd be left high and dry.

True travelers

Before you ever got the chance to pollute the game's high score list with four-letter

words…

"Ass."

[Laughter]

...there was an original list filled with vaguely old-timey names who were -- surprise

surprise -- actual people from history.

Topping the original list was Stephen Meek, who navigated the unimaginatively-named Meek

Cutoff and led somewhere around 1,000 people in 200-odd wagons along his occasionally deadly

route.

Another was Ezra Meeker, who traveled the trail and was instrumental in preserving it,

founding the Oregon Trail Monument Association.

This might make you feel bad for replacing their names with immature jibberish, but then

again, you were probably in second grade.

The travelers you met along the way, too, were named after real historic figures.

One of the names that pops up a few times is Marnie Stewart, who traveled the trail

in the 1860s.

And Alonzo Delano shows up a few times to give some advice, too, and he published a

book about his experiences on the trail.

So these guys definitely knew what they were talking about, even if you weren't listening.

Somber stories

Let's face it, the way Native Americans have been depicted in countless movies and television

shows is pretty cringeworthy.

Hollywood may have bought into the massive smear campaign when it comes to depicting

the interactions between settlers and the tribes of people already living there.

But you probably didn't even notice The Oregon Trail tried to tell you the truth.

Every so often, you'll talk to a Native American when you're on the trail, and the things they

say are just heartbreaking.

One Arapaho says,

"When the white man first crossed our lands their wagons were few.

Now they crowd the trail in great numbers.

The land is overgrazed with their many animals.

Do any white men still live in the East?

My people talk of moving."

And there are others who pop up with sentiments echoing that one, talking about the destruction

the wagon trains brought with them.

That's pretty heartbreaking stuff, but hey, at least someone got their history right.

Nefarious naming

If you named your party after your real-life family, congrats, you were kind of a morbid

kid.

And if you named them after people you didn't like, well, you were downright diabolical.

Because it was absolutely certain that at least some of the people you trekked the trail

with would contract some kind of grave illness or break a limb or perish en route to the

finish line.

Seeing your mom's name pop up on a little gray headstone half-way through was probably

a pretty jarring experience indeed, but it may have actually been a formative wake-up

call.

'Cause the sheer randomness of the injuries and losses was also quite reflective of reality.

Sometimes, difficult diseases spring out of nowhere for people you love.

Sometimes, your transportation's going to breakdown at a very inconvenient time, and

you're gonna have to improvise to get to Point B.

In other words, all those random broken arms, broken wagon wheels, and illnesses were really

preparing you for your grown-up existence -- although it's probably a good thing you

didn't know it at the time so that you could still enjoy your blissfully unaware childhood.

"How's it going, how was the weekend?"

"Well, Andy got dysentery."

"Yikes!"
