Thorin vs Azog,First Battle,Battle of Moria | The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012) CLIP HD - Duration: 4:58.

You think a night raid by Orcs is a joke?

We didn't mean anything by it.

No, you didn't.

You know nothing of the world.

Don't mind him, laddie.

Thorin has more cause than most to hate Orcs.

After the dragon took the Lonely Mountain...

...King Thror...

...tried to reclaim the ancient Dwarf kingdom of Moria.

But our enemy had got there first.

Moria had been taken by legions of Ores...

...led by the most vile...

...of all their race:

Azog...

...the Defiler.

The giant Gundabad Orc...

...had sworn to wipe out the line of Durin.

He began...

...by beheading the king.

No!

Thrain, Thorin's father...

...was driven mad by grief.

He went missing. Taken prisoner or killed...

...we did not know.

We were leaderless.

Defeat and death...

...were upon us.

That is when I saw him.

A young Dwarf prince...

...facing down...

...the pale Orc.

He stood alone...

...against this terrible foe.

His armor rent...

...wielding nothing...

...but an oaken branch...

...as a shield.

Azog...

...the Defiler learned that day...

...that the line of Durin would not be so easily broken.

Our forces rallied...

...and drove the Orcs back.

And our enemy...

...had been defeated.

But there was no feast...

...nor song that night...

...for our dead were beyond the count of grief.

We few had survived.

And I thought to myself then...

...there is one who I could follow.

There is one...

...I could call king.

And the pale Orc?

What happened to him?

He slunk back into the hole whence he came.

That filth died of his wounds long ago.

Acting ICE Director Tells Oakland Mayor: 'We're Not Going Away' - Duration: 0:55.

The acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement had this to say about

immigration raids in the country:

"I'll say this to the mayor and every other politician that wants to vilify the men and

women of ICE: We're not going away, we're going to keep enforcing the law."

Thomas Homan was referring to Libby Schaaf, the mayor of Oakland, California.

She somewhat foiled a local ICE immigration operation by issuing an alert before it could

take place.

ICE announced deportation officers arrested more than 150 people who are in the U.S. illegally

during the raid, noting roughly half of them have criminal convictions.

But Homan noted officers failed to locate more than 800 others and placed at least part

of the blame on Schaaf's warning, calling it an

Biblical and Historical Examples of Fasting - Duration: 16:42.

Well this is the third video I'm doing on fasting, and as I start this video

perhaps I should begin with a confession. For the vast majority of my Christian

life, I have neglected the spiritual discipline of fasting. And as with anyone

who has read through or studied the Scriptures, I of course was well aware of

the numerous references to the discipline of fasting, but never

seriously considered putting it into practice. And thus as I speak with you

during this Lenten season, I do so as a novice. I fully admit it - I am a novice.

A novice committed to fasting as a normal part of my spiritual journey, but

a novice nonetheless. So in considering the subject of fasting from food, I

cannot help but think of one of the most wicked cities of antiquity. You probably

know what I'm talking about. The wickedness of this city was so

pronounced, it had become a stench in the nostrils of Almighty God. And therefore

God commissioned the prophet Jonah to go to Nineveh. I love to talk about Nineveh

as the diamond of Assyria, embedded in the golden arc of the Fertile Crescent,

midway between the Mediterranean and the Caspian Sea - that's how I put it my

book "Has God Spoken". And there he proclaimed that the great city would be

overthrown. I mean utterly destroyed. And in sober

response, the Ninevites declared a fast. And all of them - all of them from the

greatest to the least put on sackcloth. Imagine - imagine a prostituted pagan city

fasting in sackcloth and ashes. And when God saw what they did and how they

had turned from their evil ways, he had compassion,

and he did not bring upon them the destruction he had threatened. And of

course, the great Assyrian city is not alone. Many nations throughout history

have fasted and prayed for the mercy of God. Well, all we have to do is think about

America. Hard to imagine, but America is one of them. In the midst of civil war -

think about it. You probably know the story. Abraham

Lincoln called on all Americans to participate in a national day of

humiliation, fasting in prayer. I want to read what he had to say in this regard. I

probably should have it memorized, but I don't. Abraham Lincoln said this: "We have

grown in numbers and wealth and power as no other nation has ever grown. But we

have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious hand which preserved us in

peace, and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us. And," said Lincoln, "we have

vainly imagined in the deceitfulness of our hearts that all of these blessings

were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated

with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel that necessity

of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God who made us. And

therefore," said Lincoln, "it behooves us to humble ourselves before the offended

power, to confess our national sins, and to pray for forgiveness." And that is what

happened. On April 30th, 1863, the American people in compliance with the request of

the Senate, along with the proclamation of President Lincoln abstained from

their ordinary secular pursuits. They humbled themselves. They devoted

themselves to fasting in prayer for the restoration of a divided country. Such days

the National fasting find precedent of course in Scripture. If they didn't I

wouldn't be talking about it. Twelve centuries - think about it - twelve centuries

before Christ, Samuel, the last judge of Israel, assembled the entire nation of

Israel for a national day of fasting. And there they-- well, they poured out water

upon the earth, and they begged the Lord to forgive their idolatry and wash away

their sins. Or think about the days of Nehemiah. In those days the seed of

Israel separated themselves in the sanctuary. They renounced their hedonism.

And they fasted in sack cloth and with dust on their heads. I think of

another example: Joel. Joel, if you read the book, likens the invasion of foreign

hordes that plunder Jerusalem and left her desolate to an apocalyptic army of

locusts. And he likewise consecrated a sacred fast in Jerusalem. And there,

perhaps you recall, the people - they begged the Lord to forgive their

iniquities, and they did so with fasting, with weeping, with mourning.

And then there's the most exceptional fasting account in the whole of the Old

Testament. This took place at the time of the Exodus. And this wasn't an ordinary

fast. This was an extraordinary fast. A fast from food and water for 40 days and

40 nights, and not just once but on three separate

occasions and over a relatively short period of time. Think about it. This was a

total of 120 days and nights without food and water. Even more

amazing is that one fasting was already in the 80th year of life. I'm talking of

course about Moses. The fast of Moses, who climbed to the top of Mount Sinai, and

then was absorbed into the cloud of God's glory. There he experienced God as the

archetypal source of life and living... on the mountaintop.

Moses was permitted to experientially know that man shall not live by bread

alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. He was not kept

alive by bread or water, but by being interpenetrated by

uncreated energy. A life source not physical, but manifestly divine in origin.

Had Moses not participated in the divine nature, as we read in Peter, he would most

certainly have died. You know humans can abstain from food for forty days, but not

from water. Within a week's time, death becomes unavoidable. And yet Moses did

not die. Nor did Moses grow weary. After forty days and forty nights without food

and water, he traversed Mount Sinai from its top all the way to its bottom, and he

watched in horror as the children of Israel had engorged themselves with

food and drink, and even worse they worshipped the golden calf. And so, with

supernatural energy, Moses ground the detestable idol into dust and then

he fell prostrate before the Lord for yet another forty days and forty nights

during which he ate no bread and drank no water. And on top of all of that, he

ascended Mount Sinai fasting yet another forty days and forty nights. When he came

down from Mount Sinai, his face quite literally glowed with the glory of the

Lord. Now this sort of fasting is of course miraculous - not in the sense of a

momentary disruption of natural law but rather in the sense of the divine

disclosure of another reality. Moses, as it were, had stepped through

the Wardrobe into Narnia. He had encountered a world in which the

ingestion of food and water was-- it was superfluous. And Moses was not alone.

Elijah, the prototypical prophet, likewise fasted forty days and forty nights and

thereafter he too experienced the graces of God. Not in a cloud of glory nor in a

fiery vision, but in the sound-- remember? He heard the sound of a gentle breeze.

You can read about it in I think 1 Kings chapter 19. And Jesus likewise

abstained from food as the new Moses leading us into a better covenant, he

fasted 40 days and 40 nights in the wilderness. Israel murmured against God

in the midst of wilderness manna. Immanuel - he did not. He cherished the

manna from heaven more than life itself. His rebuke of Satan says it all. Man

shall not live by bread alone, but on every word that proceeds from the mouth

of God. The normal human mode of existence

depends on ingestion, on digestion, on metabolism. We metabolize food and water.

But as Jesus makes plain, there's an alternative energy supply. This he

referred to when he spoke to the Samaritan woman at Jacob's well. Remember

when Jesus said whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever

drinks of the water that I give to him will never thirst. Shortly thereafter the

disciples urged him. They said, "Rabbi, eat!" But then he said to them, "I have food to eat

of which you do not know." Well this was the way of the master. He would

communicate spiritual realities by means of earthly, empirically, perceptible

realities, which might well be described as living metaphors. The disciples

understood food and water. Jesus wanted them to understand nourishment on a

completely different plane - a higher plane. They were acquainted with the

energy that is derived from bios - from food. Jesus acquainted them with the

energy that comes from the Father - zoetic energy. The disciples gained a glimpse of

this otherworldly reality on the mountain of Transfiguration. Remember

Peter, James, and John - they were witness to a dazzling display of uncreated

energy the face of the Lord shone like the Sun his clothes became as white as

the light. Moses and Elijah were there as well. They themselves had experienced

divine energy during their times of fasting, and they appeared as the

disciples were enveloped in a bright cloud.

They experienced the ultimate lawgiver, the archetypal prophet in glorious

splendor. They were eyewitnesses to the majesty of the one who fulfilled the law

and the prophets. And they - well they themselves were immersed in the bright

cloud of God's presence. Peter, James, and John were well aware that Moses and

Elijah, after fasting forty days and forty nights, had encountered a partial

disclosure of the Dunamis - the dynamite underlying the created order. But what

they experienced on the Mount of Transfiguration was even more profound.

They were eyewitnesses - eye witnesses to the transfigured majesty of the one who

like Moses and Elijah had fasted from food and feasted on a far more

substantial reality. Jesus had previously explained the dynamics of energy on a

higher plane. On Mount Sinai, they experienced it as well. This then, is the

primary purpose of fasting. It is to experience God as the source, as the

substance of life that is truly life. To taste the heavenly manna. To drink divine

water, so as to never thirst again. It is to recognize union with Christ as

the apex of human existence. You know, Jesus himself had some words

about this. We all, like Jesus, with unveiled faces beholding

as in a mirror the glory of the Lord are being transformed into the same image

from glory to glory just as the Spirit of the Lord. As we behold him, as we

behold him we become-- well, we become what we are destined to be. Christ-ians.

growing in His image being transformed into his likeness. During this Lenten

season I hope, I pray, that even if it is in spurts, you'll recognize that there is

an energy that you can partake of that dwarfs human energy. The stomach no

longer your god. Your God becoming more real to you than the very flesh upon

your bones. And again fasting is such an incredible doorway into experiencing

the reality of Christ that I just hope and pray you don't miss out on it.

Traté de seguir el tutorial de AURORAMAKEUP!!! - Duration: 23:06.

Hello and welcome to the channel

I am Saris If you don't know me yet

and today we are doing a challenge

that's being going around on Youtube

and consist on following someone else tutorial

this challenge was started by Thomas not charles

so I decided to follow my inspiration

the reason why I'm on youtube

and that is Aurora makeup

I love her tutorials I've been following for years

and ofcourse I had to do one of her tutorials

on my channel, and hope she see it!

so I invite you to stay and watch it

it's a little bit long because i"m following her

but I hope you stay and enjoy it!

so without further more let's see it

ok, so

she is using products from Hourglass

but I don't have any, coz can't afford it

I'm going to use this one I received

in the mail, a sample from REN

called perfect canvas and it's a face primer

so let's try it

ok so she wants a mattifying primer

I have this one from TEMPTU

ok now for the foundation

I am using this one from wet n wild

the photofocus in shade Buff bisque

it's one of my favorites

ok, just like Aurora I'm using my makeup sponge

previously wet

ok from foundation

she went to brows, but she did it off camera

so I'm doing the same

and I'm also leaving you the tutorial for my brows

if you want to check it out!

brows done, let's continue

so for eyeshadow primer

I'm taking the one I always use

the photofocus concealer also from WTW

sorry it got blurry here!!!

so I don't have what she is using

but I do have the Jumbo pencil from NYX

called Milk

so she applied it from the inner corner

toward the half of the lid

the she blended it out with the finger

so let's do the same

so she is using eyeshadows from BISSU

I do have some but not the colors

the orange shade she is using

so let's use my trusty palette from BH cosmetics

the Take me to Brazil palette

and let's go in with the orange shade

using this blending brush from WNW

so let's go in

so the color orange

she is using it like a transition shade

over the crease

so I will use the Luxie 239 precision shader brush

and using the same palette

from BH cosmetics

I am going in with the same yellow color

that looks like this one

like a canary yellow

and I will apply it like her

from the inner corner towards the middle of the lid

ok, so I'm taking this precision blending brush

because she is going in the crease

this brush is from Elizabeth Mott

and because this palette doesn't have a brown shade

I'm taking my PUR cosmetics palette

from the Trolls collection

and taking the color named Fuzzy

it's kinda like a light brown shade but

she is using a darker brown

but it's ok...

I think I'm going to mix this 2 to make it like hers

because her color is darker

hopefully it will works out

so she is starting from the outer corner

and going in the crease

so I'm starting with a very light hand

I hope it comes out

so I'm finish with a clean blending brush

so she curled her lashes

and for mascara

the velvet noir from Marc Jacobs

because it leaves them very thick

she is using a crayon from Marc Jacobs

I will use this one from Colour pop

named Swerve and it's black

and she applied it in the lash line

at last!! I have something

that she is actually using

so individual lashes from Kara

i am using the flared short black

I think hers are longer

let's do this !

ok so I applied the lashes and I also

applied white eyeshadow on the brow bone

to highlight because I didn't see her do it

so I went ahead and now for concealer

I'm using the photofocus one from WTW

and just like her

I'm blinding out with my sponge

I don't have a Mary K translucent powder

I have this one from Palladio

and using my sponge again

and applying it

she takes a lot of product

and goes over the concealer

and what it left on the sponge

she seals the rest of the face

she doesn't want any shine on the face

don't forget the ears

up next is contour

she's using a BH cosmetics palette

and because I don't have it

I'll use this one from Woosh

and go in with the contour shades

she mixed 2 colors

one light and one darker

so I will do the same

I'll mix this 2 shades

and with my Luxie beauty brush

it's the angled brush

let's do the contour like her

ok so she first applied it

then with little touches

ok she didn't do the nose

so I'm applying it on the nose

for blush she is using the Sonora palette

I have the Oaxaca palette (from BISSU)

Her blush is a little bit more pink

mine is a peachy color

it's this one

ok so she graved Gerard cosmetics highlighter

I'm going for my Anastasia palette

and she said she graved the lightest one?

so I'm not really sure if it's

like a golden one?

or white...

so let's use the snow shade of this

glow kit

and she applied it with the sponge

so let's do the same

I'm going in with snow

and apply on the high points like her

ok, so I'm going to use a BH palette

it's the 88 cool mate palette

but it has like a yellow shade

with shimmer like hers

2 pans just fell out...ops!

and she applied it on the inner corner

and a little bit bellow

I'm using this Amor US brush

119 crease & flat definer brush

ok so she graved a brown crayon

I'm using this one from WNW

called pretty in mink

and she applied it in the water line

and the lower lash line too

so she went back to the orange shade

and she sealed the eye pencil

and blended it out too

and once she blended it out

the lower lash line

she applied mascara

so let's apply it

with the same mascara

so she is using a nude matte lip

but I don't have one matte

so I'm using this glossy one

from Maybelline, it's very pretty

called Charmer

so we are done!!!

so she used a wig

but I don't have any wig

but this is the final look!

I feel I didn't do that bad

obviously it's not exactly the same look

I feel it's close enough

I hope that she sees it

thank you for being my inspiration

and hope you like this video as well as everyone else

when it comes to me pursuing an artist career.

My parents have always been big supporters of me making music.

They both are musicians. My dad used to play in bands so he kind of gets it.

My mom was just there. Love you mom!

My manager Phil. He really inspires me.

I wouldn't be the artist that I am today without him.

My mom has always been the one who pushed me. "You write good music, put it out for the world."

My parents always say that I went to my audition and never came back.

I remember in 6th grade I just told myself I'm going to go do the talent show.

I wonder if you'd be here if you didn't do that. Maybe not!

How I Start my Bullet Journal & Useful Beginner Tips ☆ - Duration: 11:21.

Hi everyone, today I wanted to take you through my entire planning process and show you how

I actually start my setups!

I've heard from many of you that bullet journaling or even drawing is daunting and

you have no idea where to start.

I am hoping that I can offer you some insight to help ease your worries and inspire you

to be fearlessly creative to plan your own journals!

I haven't created such an informative video like this, especially before the final inking

stage where everything is perfect, so let me know your thoughts after you watch this video!

Before I begin sketching out my ideas for the month, I spend an insane amount of

time trying to work myself into inspiration.

And that usually involves writing ideas down in another journal and a lot of researching

on google images, instagram, and pinterest.

And if I still feel uninspired or lost, then I normally head to the gym and clear my mind

so that my ideas can flow freely, you can also do this by doing something you love,

but make sure to come back to planning.

One of the most important piece of advice I can give you on finding inspiration is to

let it flow, that's always the beauty of it.

It is normally unexpected, so don't beat yourself up if you can't think of an idea

right away, but be open to everything and like I said before, just start, anywhere,

start planning or start drawing anything.

After I have a jumping off point, and I call it a jumping off point because the idea could

still change, I start to brainstorm in mysketchbook.

This is the place where perfection does not matter and drawing preliminary blobs with

eyes are fully welcome.

So here are some preliminary sketches of my past setups and journal ideas I've done.

When I feel a little more confident, I'll start to plan out my pages in a storyboard

where I shrink down each page and the content so that I can see them all in sequence.

I normally flip through last month's spread and jot down that sequence first.

Then I go ahead and jump into sketching out my ideas for the cover page to start this

month's spread, using pinterest as my go to source for animal photographs.

I try to avoid jumping right in and looking at other illustrations because I don't want

to copy or be greatly influenced by another artist's work.

Especially to the point where there is a great resemblance.

If that happens I always feel so guilty and unoriginal and I don't like that.

Now I make it a habit to come up with my own layouts and ideas in order to continue growing

my own style.

So another tip when you don't know what draw, look up real photographs of things that

you love.

It can be a beautiful sunset or a bunny rabbit and try using that as your jumping off point.

And then, only after I have developed my own ideas and if I really need help with layout,

then I'll look at illustrations for overall positions and placement.

The wreath around the bear, was a weak point for me, I wasn't sure what I wanted to do

with it, so I looked up watercolor florals to help jolt some ideas to complete the illustration.

Once I like the cover idea, I quickly sketch that into the storyboard and continue to plan

out the rest of the spreads.

Simply figuring out where things go and working through a few different ideas.

Moving on to the actual journal, I then start to sketch in my ideas using a 2b pencil, referencing

my storyboard for my layout and image ideas.

If you guys also sketch out your ideas, make sure to sketch lightly and use a 2b pencil

if you can, the lead is perfect to draw lighter and it also erases pretty well.

Now for my mood for the month, which is determined by my actual mood or hopes as I look forward

to the month.

And that is determined by what's going on or any upcoming goals I want to achieve.

I picked emergence this month because I really want to accomplish a lot within the next 31

days, even more so than I did the past few months.

And recently I've been in a state of slight disappointment in myself and my abilities.

I am making it a goal to conquer that thought, change it, and continue moving forward.

Those thoughts which create those feelings are normal because we're surrounded by amazingly

talented and successful people and its human nature to think, I can't versus, seeing

their success as proof that you can.

And this where journaling saves me everytime and that's why I love it so much and want

to share what I've learned with you.

So as I go through these thoughts, I love using the thesaurus to find the best word

to convey the emotions I want to achieve.

It's plenty of going back and forth between a few different words and then finally choosing

one.

And in this case, it's the same exact word that I started with.

As I continue to sketch out my spreads, which normally takes about 2 to 4 hours from beginning

to storyboard to completely sketching out my plans in the journal, because I am creating

a actual story through mine, yours may take less time if you're creating a basic one,

I want to answer one question that kept coming up on instagram and on youtube and that is,

how I overcome my fear of failure and of perfectionism?

First of all, I want to say that there is no right or wrong way to bullet journal.

Journaling is a personal extension of your thoughts and basically of you, So making sure

that it works for you, is all that matters.

When I posted my very first bullet journal setup, In september of last year, I really

thought that I was going to get hateful comments about how different my journal was from the

normal, but I received the most loving ones instead.

And after a few months, I realized that everybody's journal should be different, because we are

different from each other, we're all individuals just sharing a simple love of organizing our

own lives in a notebook.

So just understanding that thought, I know that my fear of failure and the need to be

perfect back then, was coming from my own expectations of the reactions of others.

And that means that my feelings were out of my control and I was placing that control

in the what ifs.

But I wanted that control back, because I don't want fear of anything to stop me from

growing as a person.

I want to reach my goals or at least get insanely close.

So just like riding a bike, or learning something new for the first time, I knew that I just

had to fail a few times and disappoint myself in order to stop fearing that fear of the

unknown, because then it won't be unknown anymore.

This might sound funny, but I made time to fail and to not be perfect in my work, just

to doodle whatever came to mind and then I continued to build from that.

Basically, accept failure as part of the journey.

And better yet, embrace it because it is how you learn to be your best self.

To add to that about perfectionism, is there really a perfect in art?

Because, my perfect can be different than yours.

And if by perfect you mean completely aligned with what you visualize, then it's a matter

of expectations, which is also a part of the fear of not meeting those expectations, which

is again the fear of failure.

So, my two biggest tips of overcoming these thoughts is to understand them and know where

they are coming from and then to start without reserve and without expectations.

Okay, so once I have my spreads all sketched out, I need to sketch out my painting that

goes along with the mood of the month in another sketchbook that I use.

I wanted the bear to break out of his shell and open up to opportunities.

I have him walking along a rocky path with beautiful leaves that seem to defy nature

and grow even on hard surface, following the song of the bird, which represents Spring.

After I ink and complete the illustration then I'll have it to reference for the final

painting on camera.

Next in line is to find quotes that work with this set-up and that all starts with googling

the mood of the month and the word "quotes" behind it.

I love two sites the best and that is good reads and brainy quotes.

If I can't find a quote I like then I'll start searching the synonyms of the word,

in this case growth or rising.

I measure out the size I want and then create them to fit in those sizes in photoshop.

When I create my own quote, which I did for this set-up, Its just a lot writing out a

few quotes and then hopefully, coming up with one that works, all based on the how I want

to end the story or to sum it up.

Now from this cardstock pack I bought at my local craft store, I picked out my blush cardstock

and then ripped them to sizes I need, not worrying so much about perfection here, the

imperfections adds character.

Finally, It's prop picking time.

I don't have too many things to choose from so you'll see some of the same items and

florals, but I do have a few flower stems from my wedding and diys that work with the

feeling of the spread.

I then, adjust the layout and make sure that I have enough room to work in my journal on

camera.

And that's normally it.

But, this time around, I wanted to create my illustration digitally and change things

up for March, which is where I would love to gain more experience, but I was not happy

with the the direction of it.

So the next morning I had the idea to add more movement in the bear and the entire scene

with the bird.

I wanted the bear to embody the word emerging in his action, and so the idea of him rising

out of the water to connect with the chirping bird, came to mind.

Now, we're ready to shoot.

One final piece of advice about this whole creative process of starting a setup and bullet

journaling in general is that, it's okay to take time to plan before you're ready

to jump right into setting it up.

I don't really know anyone else's planning process, but this is what I have to do to

come up with my layouts and I love it.

Throughout each month, I can actually see my work evolve and improve.

And I sincerely wish that for all of you.

I am so thankful for Audible for sponsoring today's video!

They have an unmatched selection of audiobooks, original audio shows, news, comedy, and so

much more.

You can listen while your driving, doing chores, or even as you're journaling.

I personally love listening to empowering content, especially while I create because

it motivates me to keep making and to keep moving forward.

An amazing book that I am listening to right now is called Big Magic by Elizabeth GIlbert.

She believes that we all have hidden treasures within us and explores why we might not have

the courage to find and live this treasure.

She touches upon all of my doubts and fears and explains how we can handle fear, along

side of creativity.

It is one of my most highly recommended books that is helping me to open my mind to new

ideas and to help me live my best life.

Audible is offering an exclusive 30 day free trial, so all you need to do is go to www.audible.com/christinemylinh
