Hey guys and welcome to my channel. Its February 2018
the lakes in Berlin are frozen and i'll show you my new video...
Today I show you how I clean my mobile filter
Almost exactly a year ago I made this HMF, the link can be found in the description
The filter operated nonstop with a Czech airlift and I use an air compressor
Psst... For those of you who have no idea what an HMF is
click the infobox
Before I remove the filter, I remove all the plants, My plan is to install a under gravel filter system in this aquarium
this will be my next project, but now I use the opportunity to show you how the mobile HMF looks after one year in use
So get out the plants, of course, I'm now messing up all the toxins that have been deposited in the soil and the water quality changed drastically negative
The filter has hardly any power, but that is because of the air lift, the filter mat itself is still not clogged even after a year
Now watch out that no snails and shrimp are caught
and there is the good piece
on the side is the Efeutute rooted
and here on the back was a leaf on the filter, which has almost dissolved completely, the filter does a good job
The Efeutute has not only grown in the filter but has also greatly expanded in the aquarium.
Similar to the einblatt here ... By the way, efeutute and einblatt are not aquarium plants, but if you pay attention to some details, these plants will also grow well in the aquarium
for fun i kept the original mat and right in the picture you see how much clogged the filter is.
The color itself has not changed, shows you the close-up.
The filter completely absorbed the leaf at the site, an El Dorado for bacteria and microorganisms.
Here you see the big advantage of the HMF, namely the insanely large surface this mat has, here much more bacteria can settle than in normal filters
Of course, the shrimp now have absolutely no appetite for the dirty water and I start relocating.
The filter mat itself is rinsed out under warm water, press and do not rub
The brown water smells extremely of old river or algae in the sea, an indication of active bacteria in the filter which produced a stable balance in our aquarium water.
In another video I show how to Clean the Czech airlift ... check the description.
Depending on how long you have taken the filter out of the water, the bacteria should still be active and you can use it again immediately.
In my next video, I'll show you how to rebuild the tank, be surprised ... I'll keep you updated
Than you for watching guys, click here again, I'm going to skate a round now
