The Restless Mummy (pt.3) - Quests of History - Duration: 5:13.

Previously on Quests of History.

An official was complaining of strange things happening in his house.

Our main character Onnos investigated, and found a piece of linen which we learnt came

from the late Pharaoh Amenemhat III.

Under the instructions of the Official, Onnos then went to the Pharaoh's tomb and found

a piece of papyrus with a high-level spell on it that he couldn't read.

He then had a choice.

Go back to the official, or find a high-level priest.

You guys chose the priest, so that's what he did.

He made it to the priest, but not before almost dying.

And that's kinda where we are right now.

The priest doesn't waste a single second to ask Onnos who he is and what he is doing

there.

Still dazed, he tells the priest that he has a piece of papyrus that he wants him to decipher.

He tells him that this is of very high importance.

The priest lights up like nothing else.

As if he had just seen a ghost.

He asks Onnos where he got this from.

Onnos lies, and tells him he found it in a cave near Thebes.

The priest gets angry, and throws him to the wall.

He tells him to stop lying and repeats.

Where did you get this from?

Now this was a level 70 priest.

The max level in the game.

Onnos recognizes that.

If he gets on his bad side, he would get killed instantly.

I mean, he almost did against the birds and griffins.

Onnos tells him that he got it from the tomb of Amenemhat III.

He went in, he investigated, opened the tomb, and found this piece of papyrus.

He tells him that he was only doing a simple quest and it led him there.

The priest, is baffled.

He can't believe what he's hearing.

He tells Onnos that this is a forbidden spell.

It's dark magic.

And it's preventing the Pharaoh from going into the afterlife.

You see, when Pharaohs were buried, they would commission spells to be put on their graves.

These spells would help them navigate the after life.

And it was in your interest to select good spells for yourself that fit with your lifestyle.

For example if you were unlucky in your life, you might want to commission a spell of luck.

This practice eventually led to the creation of the Book of the Dead, which was the same

thing, but instead of writing it on the grave, you'd write it in a book and place that

book with you in the tomb.

You would pay, and have whatever spells you wanted on it.

We can now understand why the Pharaoh was stuck.

This spell was preventing him from going to the after life.

But the question is…

Who put this spell there in the first place?

Because in those times, only the high-priest appointed by the Pharaoh himself could do

it.

And it obviously wasn't this priest.

The priest tells Onnos that he knows exactly what happened and who did it.

He also says that it's the same reason why he's banished from the kingdom.

Everything happened right after Amenemhat III's death.

He says he was framed for using dark magic by the new pharaoh, Amenemhat IV.

The pharaoh banished him, and replaced him with another high-priest before the burial

took place.

No doubt, it was this priest that put the spell.

But then the question becomes…

Why would he want this spell in his father's tomb?

Why doesn't he want his father to go into the afterlife?

Onnos tells the priest that he's being doing this quest for an official in the current

Pharaoh's army.

That he's the one who told him to go to the tomb.

And that all of this got started because strange things were happening in his home.

And that's where he found the piece of linen.

The priest, whom has incredible intelligence, thinks for a second and tells Onnos that the

strange things must be Amenemhat III.

He was trying to send a message.

He was trying to get attention on the official.

And he doesn't think it was in a bad way, because he's heard about this official before.

He was very loyal.

He tells Onnos that he needs to bring him to the Pharaoh's tomb so he could reverse

the spell and free Amenemhat III.

But he should see the official first and let him know of what is going on.

He can be trusted.

Arriving back in Thebes, he goes back to the official and tells him everything.

The official is out of words..

He suspected something was off with Amenemhat IV, but he thought he was simply going crazy.

He tells Onnos that it was a good thing that he first sought the priest himself.

Or else, he probably would've brought the spell to the current high-priest.

The one who put it there in the first place.

Which, no doubt, would've failed the quest.

Now the first time Onnos went to the pyramid, he managed to sneak past the guards rather

easily because of his stealth.

But now he has to take the priest with him, so getting in would be more difficult.

But Onnos has a choice.

He can choose to also bring the official, or he can choose to go without him.

That choice, is up to you, and fyi, it's very important.

If I can give you a piece of advice, listen carefully to the words I used.

Safely Mow Hilly Country Estate - Duration: 3:53.

I am Gwen Kohut, and I live on a 23-acre farm in the hills of West Virginia.

I own a Ventrac in order to maintain this property by myself.

The property has various challenges, part of it is about 8 or 9 acres of rolling meadow.

But there's a hill behind the house which is relatively steep.

I like to be self-reliant, so the stability and the safety of the Ventrac were especially

important to me.

I appreciate feeling safe when I'm out working by myself.

I had never actually tried to change attachments on another machine.

I've watched other people try to do it and realized it was something I could never do.

When I saw how the Ventrac attached and detached, I thought maybe I could.

So being able to drive up to it and push a lever, that's great.

I purchased 4 attachments, I have the mower deck, the tough cut, the scoop, and the blade.

I keep trying to make this place look like a state park I think.

The bucket I use for mulching flower beds.

I use a lot of mulch around the house.

I like the fact that the mower deck is in front of the machine where I can watch what

I'm doing.

It does have a light footprint and when I mow the hill behind the house if I get into

some wet terrain it keeps going and there's not an issue.

Being able to angle the blade on the Ventrac allows me to push the gravel in such a way

that the driveway drains better just at the touch of a hand so that's really nice.

I keep finding more to mow because the Ventrac is so reliable and goes anywhere.

The area that I mow has increased over time and I like that.

I would absolutely recommend this machine to anyone

including women, who might want to be more self-reliant and take care of property

I don't think they would ever regret it.

When I hear Ventrac, I just feel proud that I own one.

I see more and more Ventracs in the area.

I think they're remarkable machines.

They're engineered very well and a lot of things were considered in the development

and engineering of them, so I'm glad I have one.

Samsung Galaxy S9+ Camera Test vs Mate 10 Pro, iPhone X & S8 | Last Cam Standing XI - Duration: 11:00.

Here it is!

Samsung's flagship Galaxy S9 famiily has arrived with what they're calling a 'reimagined'

camera.

Let's put that claim to the test against the current smartphone camera champ, the Huawei

Mate 10 Pro.

We also threw the iPhone X and Galaxy S8 into the mix for a truly epic showdown!

Last Cam Standing is PCWorld's video series that determines the best phone camera for

still images in a King-of-the-hill style battle.

Whichever phone wins moves on to face the next major smartphone release, so subscribe

to see the journey unfold!

The reigning champ for two matches so far is Huawei's Mate 10 Pro.

It boasts impressive Leica hardware and AI-powered software in a single, high-end camera package.

But Samsung claims to have revolutionized smartphone cameras with the Galaxy S9's

dual-aperture setup, which automatically flips from f/2.4 to f/1.5 in low lighting situations.

It could be a major breakthrough in phone photography, or just a gimmick.

Our tests will bear that out.

And whats this?!

Apple's iPhone X wants a rematch after it lost to the Mate 10 Pro in last years Last

Cam Standing?!

Well, it only makes sense to have the two largest smartphone manufacturers face each

other in the ring, so I'll allow it.

And even though it has no chance of winning, Samsung's flagship from last year, the Galaxy

S8 wants in on the action as well.

Let's see just how 'reimagined' a camera can be in 12 months.

As always, we divide our testing into four catagories: color, clarity, exposure, and

user experience.

All our testing mimics how people use phones in the real world.

I just pull the phone from my pocket, and use the stock camera app with HDR processing

set to auto.

For this round of testing we also hired Victoria to model for us--be sure to go check out her

Instagram!

Now let's go over the testing results.

The first category is color, and we'll be going over color accuracy and white balance.

This first shot with Victoria hanging out it in San Francisco's Chinatown plays out

just like we've seen in past episodes.

The Mate 10 is more desaturated and leans to the cooler side where the iPhone leans

warmer and is very saturated.

The S9 is a little closer to the Mate 10 than the S8, which surprisingly delivered the most

natural color.

We move inside ths store and it's almost the opposite.

The iPhone 10 is desaturated and counteracts the yellow lights very well.

The Mate 10 turned the models hair red, while the S9 produces a yellow hue over her face.

Back in the street, color reproduction is a little more even.

Study the skin tones, the blue jeans, and the yellow strip on Victoria's shirt.

The colors on the iPhone 10 are just a bit too oversaturated for my taste, while the

S9 is too cold.

I'd personally got for the Mate 10 because it looks more natural to the eye.

Same thing in this shot.

The concrete is just too warm on the iPhone and the Samsung phones are both a bit cooler

than the Mate 10.

Now this last shot is really telling and the results speak for themselves.

The iPhone is oversaturated and blown out, and the S8 is very warm and muted.

The Mate 10 and S9 are pretty close, but the Mate has a more pleasing skin tone.

Overall this first category is a close one and the S9 keeps up, but the Mate 10 was more

consistent in it's white balance readings and didn't oversaturate images.

So I'm giving it to the Huawei Mate 10 Pro.

The second test category focuses on clarity.

Here we look at the sharpness of each camera, and how well they stay sharp in dark environments.

For the S9 I'll note the aperture value the phone chose.

First up is the classic Adam shot of a brick wall.

Zooming in reveals a massive amount of sharpening on the Samsung phones, but that's Samsungs

trademark.

Interestingly the iPhone is soft around the edges, but the Mate 10 has the best texture

here.

Here on the steps, I'm surprised by just how soft the letters are behind the model

in the S9 photo.

Samsung says the camera's aperture closes down to f/2.4 in order to stay sharper, which

should theoreticaly be true.

But at 2.4, the phone should also be able to keep the object in the distance in focus.

But that's just not the case here.

Same thing on this wide shot here -- the Hilton sign should be sharper than that when the

S9 is stopped down.

So it got me thinking, Could f/1.5 be even softer?

Switching to manual mode on the S9 lets you manually toggle between f/1.5 and 2.4.

And shot after shot, I wasn't seeing a huge difference in terms of sharpness between the

two aperture values.

If Samsung included dual apertures so that the 1.5 could help in low light while allowing

the 2.4 to keep photos sharper in bright light, then I'm not seeing it.

In fact, for the most part I can't find a reason why Samsung couldn't just let the

camera stay at f/1.5 and call it a day.

This whole 'dual aperture' thing feels like a gimmick to me.

So back to the rest of the phones.

In bright lighting scenarios the Mate 10 has the sharpest images.

Both Samsung phones exhibit a weird ghosting pattern around the cars here, which doesn't

help clarity overall.

Even at dusk, this shot of a building is sharper on the Mate 10, and at such great distances,

the iPhone comes in second.

Also, the S8 actually does better than the S9 here.

But lets move into some very dark scenes to check out low light performance, because here

is where Samsung shines.

This wider shot is impressively sharp on the S9 -- just check out the spokes on that motorcycle.

The Mate 10 and iPhone keep up, and even the S8 does pretty well.

Moving in a bit closer to the wall, and we have a surprise!

The S8 kills the S9.

In fact the Mate and iPhone are even clearer than the S9 in this shot.

So, while Samsung does some impressive things in low light, the S9 is inconsistent whereas

the Mate 10 is solid throughout every lighting scenario.

The Huawei Mate 10 Pro wins the clarity section as well.

The third test category is exposure.

In this one we cover how the camera exposes for a scene, and find out just how much dynamic

range is retained in the shot.

I'll be including histograms in this section so you can get even more detail.

Let's start with a nice city shot.

The Mate 10 and iPhone 10 both capture a pleasing exposure and retain plenty of information

in the extreme ends of the histogram.

But the S9 and S8 both overexpose the sky, losing some cloud detail and color.

Same thing happens here: the sky is blown out on the S9.

The shot on the Mate 10 is flatter but if I was to edit these photos I'd rather add

contrast into the shot than try to take it out.

But here the S9 does better.

The Mate 10 is a bit underexposed, and the skin on the model in the iPhone shot is blown

out.

The S8 is on the darker side, just like the Mate 10.

This next shot was to test how the cameras handle backlit scenarios.

Every phone other than the Mate 10 blows out the highlights on the red bench and white

wall in the background.

Focusing just on the face, the Mate 10 also feels the most natural and evenly exposed.

In this first alleyway shot Victoria looks ghostly on the S9.

Shes not too bad in the Mate 10 shot, but I actually perfer the iPhone exposure here.

It's a more even exposure while still having some depth in the shadows.

This last photo has the S9 once again exposes the model's skin too brightly.

It's a fine line between having a punchy image with contrast that adds depth and retaining

information in the exposure, but the iPhone feels too proccessed here so I'm going with

the Mate 10s shot.

Both Samsung phones lost information from overexposure in too many scenarios, and the

iPhone tended to blow out skin tones.

The Mate 10 underexposed in some scenarios but didn't loose anything that couldn't

be brought back in editing.

So Huawei's Mate 10 Pro goes 3 for 3, taking the exposure category.

The fourth and final test category looks user experience.

Here I get into what it's like using the camera day to day, and highlight extra features

as well.

We'll start with the Mate 10.

It has a fast and powerful camera app, but it's not the most user friendly.

Trying to find the Pro mode isn't very straightforward, and unfortunately that continues through the

rest of the app's menu features.

But Huawei does have an amazing black and white mode, using a secondary 20 megapixel

sensor.

Cap that off with Huawei's AI powered scene and object recognition, and you have a great

and reliable user experience.

For the S9, Samsung has redone its app layout to something that iPhone users will recognize.

It's pretty straightforward and easy to use, and has a fun AR emoji option built right

in.

But I had a couple of problems using the app daily.

First off, I found switching between modes to be very slow.

As I was testing out the dual apeture in manual mode, I was dreading trying to to get there

over and over again from auto mode.

Second, Bixby vision always pesters you in auto mode and man is that frustrating.

The iPhone X is fast and easy to use as always, but I really don't like how long it takes

to launch.

All the rest of the phones have you launching the camera app with a double press of a button,

something I can do before even looking at the phone.

The iPhone on the otherhand has you raise the phone, then long press on the camera icon

to launch.

That's too slow for me.

But once again, it's defintitely the most easy to use right out of the box.

And finally we have the Samsung Galaxy S8.

This phone has been out for a year now so it's a known quantity at this point, but

it delivers a solid experience nonetheless.

My biggest painpoint while using the S8 was the lack of a second lens for doing fun things

like Portrait Mode.

Speaking of Portrait Modes, I did do some quick testing between the three phones that

have it, and didn't find any huge improvements to the edge detection.

I still use it all the time but can't wait for further advancements in the tech.

I lean towards perfering the Mate 10 with it's wider field of view, but each option

has it's problems.

At the end of the day I continued to love using Huawei's Mate 10 Pro, which takes

the user experience category.

So to close it out, let's crown a winner!

The S8 is still a very good camera that excels in low light, but it's been surpased by

the S9 in almost every way.

And while the iPhone X keeps up with the pack, it wasn't able to win a rematch.

The Galaxy S9 is Samsung's best camera to date, but continues Samsung's habit of oversharpening

and blowing out highlights.

And because the dual aperture approach doesn't deliver substantial improvements, I'm calling

the S9 camera an evolution, not a revolution.

So, winning 4 out of 4 categories, and continuing it's reign is Huawei's Mate 10 Pro!

The Mate 10 Pro has been a blast to take photos with over the last couple months since it

came out.

It's a huge improvement over the Mate 9 that came before it, building off of the strength

of Huawei's unique two camera system.

Add on top of that the Leica patnership and impressive AI algorythims and you have a camera

system that might stay in the top spot for a while.

But where is LG and it's successor to the awesome G6?

In a very recent HWAA show on Universal Light Radio Saint Germain came to bring us up to

date on where we are and as always give us some good advice.

He tells us that we are doing a great job of anchoring our future sacred self; �But

what you are also doing, and might I say doing extraordinarily well, is you are also anchoring,

welcoming in, embracing what you would conceive of as your sacred future self.

So you are embracing your totality.�

�. being in the here and now, is especially beneficial at this time of transition.

He warns us about NOT integrating unnecessary memories energies that �knock on our door�

at this time;

�and here we start to get down to some of the nitty gritty of our conversation today.

The proviso is if there are things, elements, memories, energies, it matters not, that are

coming to you from the future, from your current reality, or might we say even from past, and

it does not even necessarily mean your past.

If these energies are knocking on your essence door, which is very large at the moment, and

from here on in for that matter, it does not mean if these energies or this essence, is

disgruntled, disorganized, discordant, recalcitrant, and I�m talking whether it looks like you,

looks like the collective, or a certain event or situation, you may observe it, not in judgement,

but in the depth of your wisdom, the depth of your divine authority.

Look at it and do not integrate it�.

Your job, your sacred mission and purpose at this time, I cannot emphasize this enough,

is not to take on all the woes, the recalcitrants�, the chaos, the mayhem, the hatred, the control

of the planet.

In fact, it is quite the opposite.

And that is why I say, �Come and sit with me in the Temple of my Violet Flame, of the

Violet Flame.

Come and let us extinguish what is not of love, what is not of wholeness, what is not

of you.�

We Must Hold Our Sacred Space � the Old Third is GONE

So again, we are reminded of this fact that the old third is gone, and He says that that�s

why we should nor engage in it � anyone who tries to remain in the old third must

literally REINVENT IT to be there.

�It is important that you maintain, more than ever, your sacred space.

And in this way, you begin to create Nova Earth, rather than engaging with those that

would like to reinvent, because it requires reinvention.

The old third is gone.

And you say, �But I witness it all around me.� And these are the energies that want

literally to reinvent the old.

Now we experienced this in Atlantis.

And by the way, that is also why Serapis Bey wanted to come and talk.

He knew that this was Atlantis week, but let us go on.

In Atlantis, we had the islands of temples.

The Mother�s Temple of Wisdom, which was next to mine, ours, the Temple of the Violet

Flame, and these were sacred places.

In our temple, it was where what we referred to as priests, and that was male and female,

and it was a secular term, not connoted or attached to any religious belief system.

But this was sacred space, and the islands of temples were sacrosanct and pure.

But as you well know, there was a push and pull of those who wished to not only find

their own gods, but to be God.

Now I say this, and I want to explain it.

Each of you, all of us are God.

We are infinite, and we are divine, and so are you, beloveds.

But it is the connection, the DNA, the literal connection and the energies that the Mother/Father

have infused you with, of the blue diamond and the gold diamond and your beautiful pink

diamond.

These energies are part and parcel of you, so of course it is inconceivable that you

are not divine.�

Where Old Atlantis Lay and How Parts of It Will Reemerge

�Now, think of this, the Atlantean City of Light, which is related to me and the Temple

of the Violet Flame, and the Temple of the Mother�s Wisdom arises again, coming to

the surface of what you think of as water.

Because it is time for these energies and these places of bliss and healing be reinstituted.�

Then He gives us an understanding of why we are so exhausted at this time!

�Most of what you are experiencing right now in terms of what you feel as bombardment

or exhaustion is, in fact, from the populace that is on planet right now, the human populace.

The animals, the elementals, the trees, the grass, the leaves, the stones, the sky, they

are clean.

They are advanced.

But what you are feeling is the battle cry of a defeated segment.

Now in that chaos, there are situations that are coming to the forefront so that the collective

in their transition to new choices can say �no more.� We are so sick of this we do

not choose to continue in that way.

So you, beloved ones, and when I say you, I mean all seven billion of you, are reaching

a point, pre-Atlantis, where you will say we are not going to allow this discordant,

recalcitrant, hateful energy to destroy us and the Mother�s Plan, and the fulfillment

of that Plan that we are one thousand percent, one million percent committed to.

So what you are doing is you are already starting not only to eliminate, or organically change

with the laws of change or transmutation, you are beginning, but you are doing it not

in simply zapping and saying, you�re gone.

You are creating the new and that is truly the purpose of the Violet Flame.

It is restoration, yes, it has the ability to incinerate, transmute, transform, transubstantiate

that which is not of love and wholeness.

But what it really does, that is about ten percent.

What it really does is allow the new, allow the love, the true I AM Presence to emerge.

And that is what I am doing with each and every one of you.

I am so excited.

Yes, I am somewhat taken aback by the shenanigans {Irish expression for madness} that are taking

place on the planet, but I am also so excited to be with you, my beloveds.�

you can understand the scope and size of the old Atlantis.

Before going into my main questions, I�d like you to help settle a mystery once and

for all, and that is, where is Atlantis?

Where is it located?

SG: Yes, there are many opinions and you also need to realize Atlantis was a huge land mass,

with many, can you say �outlier� islands.

So, think of the Atlantic ocean, and rather than having the entire ocean as water, there

were, and there was a plan to this, if you think of the East Coast of the United States

primarily, from Bimini up to what you can think of as northern Florida, and then out

and then up, jutting upwards somewhat towards what you would call Newfoundland, then out,

well out into the ocean, then outlier islands, particularly close to England, and part of

England by the way that did not sink, England, Ireland, some of the Orkneys, some of the

Scottish Hebrides, and even down around the horn in what you think of as Mesopotamia.

SB: Wait a minute, wait a minute, we just went from England and Ireland to Mesopotamia.

SG: And then you go South into Greece, and then�it was massive.

Why do you think, for example, that so many migrated directly from some of the, what we

would call the out islands of Atlantis, over to Egypt?

SB: Well, yes, when you explain it that way, but does that mean that, pardon me, most of

Western Europe is part of Atlantis?

SG: It is more bits and pieces than Western Europe.

Western Europe comes from very, ah shall we say, a different background.

SB: Then how did we get from Britain to Mesopotamia?

SG: Go around Britain, down through the Mediterranean and think, land masses were not as they were

today/are today, or even were a long time ago.

There were many large bodies of what you would think of not as rivers, but as seas.

So you went down, you went down from what you can think of as the Mediterranean/Aegean

and down towards Mesopotamia.

SB: Down towards Mesopotamia.

Mesopotamia is East, right?

SG: You are talking about the area that you would think of as Israel, Egypt, that area,

Palestine.

SB: Boy, ahem.

SG: Yes, most people try to make Atlantis a tiny little island where they can go vacation.

Well, they will be welcome to come and vacation, they already are, but it was much bigger than

that.

And in the sinking of Atlantis there was a transfer, let us put it that way, a transfer

of much of the energies and the sacred places that were implanted elsewhere.

SB: Various pyramids?

Is that�

SG: Various pyramids, various sacred�

SB: Henges?

SG: Yes, various hedges, yes, secret places that are now being revealed.

SB: Hmm.

And where was the Temple of the Violet Light exactly?

SG: It was off the coast of Bimini.

SG: There, that has already been discovered and all you need to do sweet ones are to Google

to the rising of Atlantis, but also to the, what you can think of as global warming.

a great deal of the salt water, putting it through desalinization and bringing it to

the places of severe drought and feeding the Earth in ways that will restore a verdant

garden.

SB: Why that�s going to be something.

SG: There is so much to look forward to.

SB: Well, just before we get to that, because it is exciting times right now, so now, the

ocean floor is rising and what comes up but 300 shipwrecks and just a lot of sand and

What, are we going to be shocked when we see Atlantis come up from the sea?

SG: No, the agreement is, also there is a great deal of engineering already going on,

so what we are not doing is bringing Atlantis back as a dump site.

EITHER BECAUSE THEN YOU'RE BASICALLY NOT MAKING USE

OF WHAT GOD HAS GIVEN YOU.

SO THE BEST THING TO DO IS TO STAY HEALTHY, PEACEFUL, HAPPY,

AND DO ALL YOU CAN DO TO HELP PEOPLE.

BUT TO REALIZE THAT YOU'RE NOT THE ONLY ONE GOD'S USING.

YOU KNOW, GOD MAY USE YOU FOR A LITTLE BIT.

HE MAY USE SOMEBODY ELSE FOR A LITTLE BIT.

BUT IT ALL BEGINS WITH THE HEART THIS PERSON HAS, THAT IT'S GOOD

THAT SHE FEELS THAT WAY BUT NOT TO LET IT MAKE HER SO MISERABLE

THE ALARMS WERE JUST GOING OFF ALMOST CONSTANTLY.

I COULD HEAR MY MOM, EMOTIONAL DISTRESS AND KNOWING THAT THEY

WERE BY THEMSELVES AND MY DAD IS IN A WHEELCHAIR.

AND WE COULDN'T GET OUT.

IT'S LIKE EVERYBODY WAS ON AN ISLAND.

YOU COULD NOT ESCAPE YOUR ISLAND.

YOU WERE STUCK.

I FELT SO HELPLESS.

JESUS: MY WIFE, SHE WAS CRYING AND BECAUSE WE COULD DO

NOTHING.

THE WATER WAS IN.

IT WAS COMING FROM THE BACK AND FROM THE FRONT.

AND I SAID, "DON'T CRY, MARY.

DON'T CRY."

GINGER: WHAT WAS YOUR GREATEST FEAR AT THAT POINT?

FEMALE: THAT THEY WERE GONNA DROWN.

THEY WERE GONNA DROWN WHILE I SAT IN A DRY HOME,

AND I COULDN'T DO A THING.

I SAID, "GOD, IF YOU BROUGHT THEM SO FAR, YOU'RE THE CREATOR,

I KNOW YOU CAN PROTECT THEM.

JUST SEND SOMEBODY TO GO AND SAVE THEM 'CAUSE I CAN'T."

SOMEBODY FROM MY DAD'S CHURCH DECIDED TO GET IN THEIR BIG OLD

MONSTER TRUCK AND TRY.

I THOUGHT, "GOD, I DUNNO IF THEY'RE GONNA BE ABLE TO

AND THEY WENT TO THE PLACE WHERE THERE WAS ALL THE RESCUE TRUCKS

THERE AND THERE WAS A HUGE MILITARY TRUCK THERE AND THEY

WENT AND BEGGED THE GUY TO GO AND HE DID.

I SHOULDN'T BE SURPRISED BECAUSE THAT'S GOD'S POWER.

WE COULDN'T GO BACK INTO THE HOUSE 'TIL SIX DAYS.

WE WERE ALL IN MY HOUSE FOR SIX DAYS AND WHEN WE WENT BACK

IN, THE SMELL WAS VERY BAD.

THE MOLD ALREADY HAD SETTLED IN.

IT WAS VERY SAD BECAUSE THAT'S YOUR LIFE.

MY PARENTS HAVE BEEN LIVING IN THAT HOUSE THAT I WAS RAISED IN

THAT HOUSE.

MY DAD IS A PERSON ALWAYS TO GIVE, ALWAYS A MAN TO GIVE.

AND TO RECEIVE, FOR HIM, IS VERY DIFFICULT.

MY CIRCUMSTANCE.

I DO HAVE JOY IN YOU AND I'M GRATEFUL TO KNOW THAT I CAN HAVE

HOPE EVEN THOUGH I HAVE A PROBLEM."

AND THEN YOU HAVE TO MAKE SOME DECISIONS.

AND ONE OF THE DECISIONS YOU MAKE IS WHAT DO I HAVE

TO BE THANKFUL FOR?

OKAY, MAYBE SOMEBODY WAKES UP, LET'S SAY, WITH A MIGRAINE

HEADACHE BUT, THANK GOD, YOU KNOW, THERE'S SOMETHING

THAT I CAN DO ABOUT THIS.

I DON'T LIKE HAVING THEM BUT, YOU KNOW, I'VE GOT SOMETHING

I CAN TAKE FOR IT OR I'VE GOT A FRIEND I CAN CALL FOR PRAYER.

SO, AND YOU KNOW, THESE ARE THINGS YOU HAVE TO ALMOST WRITE

DOWN AND REMIND YOURSELF TO DO BECAUSE WHEN YOU'RE HURTING,

YOUR PAIN IS REAL AND IT'S VERY DIFFICULT TO IGNORE IT.

AND SO, BE HONEST WITH GOD AND FIND SOMETHING THAT YOU CAN FIND

JOY IN, EVEN IF IT'S A SMALL THING, JUST TO BRING THAT LIGHT

INTO THE MIDST OF THE DARKNESS.

GINGER: YEAH, MAKE A DECISION, TRUST GOD EVEN WHEN

THE CIRCUMSTANCES DON'T SAY WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE THEM TO SAY.

JOYCE: THAT'S RIGHT.

FEMALE: BEFORE WE LEFT OUR HOME, WE THOUGHT IF WE DID GET

WATER THAT, YOU KNOW, LET'S PUT SOME THINGS UP ON OUR

BOOKSHELVES AND STUFF.

WHEN WE CAME BACK, ALL THAT WAS GONE.

I MEAN, EVERYTHING ON THE FIRST FLOOR IS COMPLETELY GONE.

FEMALE: I CRY AT TIMES BECAUSE OF IT,

IT'S OVERWHELMING.

RANDY: I JUST CAN'T IMAGINE WHAT THEY FELT LIKE, JUST THE

SMELLS OF--THAT THE FLOODS LEAVE AND THE FILTH AND IT JUST RUINS

EVERYTHING YOU HAVE.

AND IT'S JUST--IT'S A VERY DIFFICULT PROCESS FOR THESE

FAMILIES.

GINGER: THESE ARE SITUATIONS WHERE THERE WAS NO FLOOD

INSURANCE BECAUSE IT'S NOT A FLOOD ZONE.

THEY'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO HAVE THESE TYPES OF PROBLEMS.

WHICH MEANS REBUILDING IS NOT ONLY VERY EXPENSIVE BUT

VERY DIFFICULT.

THEY REALLY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THEY WOULD DO.

RANDY: IN INTERVIEWING THESE FAMILIES, NOT ONLY IS IT

EXPENSIVE AND TOUGH FOR THEM, IT WAS OUT OF REACH, PERIOD.

FEMALE: ME AND MY HUSBAND, I SAID, "LET'S JUST PRAY."

AND WE PRAYED AND OUR PRAYER WAS TO HELP US GET THE WALLS UP JUST

SO WE CAN GET BACK INTO OUR HOME TO START REBUILDING 'CAUSE WE

DON'T HAVE A LOT OF MONEY.

AND OUR HOME WAS HIS HOME.

WE ACTUALLY DEDICATED IT BACK TO HIM AND SAID, "IT'S YOUR HOME.

YOU DO WHAT YOU WANT WITH IT."

AND ASKING THE LORD TO HELP US THAT WE HAVE A HOME, WE HAVE

A PLACE TO COME HOME TO.

RANDY: IT'S JUST VERY REWARDING TO KNOW THAT WE'RE

DOING WHAT GOD'S CALLED US TO DO, AS SIMPLE AS THAT.

BUT ALSO TO SEE THESE FAMILIES' FACES THE MOMENT WE SAID,

"HEY, GOD'S GOT THIS.

WE'RE COMING BACK, WE'RE GONNA REBUILD YOUR HOME.

WE'RE GONNA FURNISH IT.

EVERYTHING'S GONNA BE RESTORED."

THERE AND TO HAVE FAITH.

THAT'S ONE OF THE THINGS THAT I ALWAYS TELL THEM: PRAY AND HAVE

FAITH AND EXPECT FOR HIM TO MOVE.

THEY'LL NEVER FORGET THIS.

OTHERS AND GIVE THEM HOPE THAT GOD WILL HELP.

AND HE DOES ANSWER PRAYERS.

NO MATTER HOW BIG OR HOW SMALL, HE ANSWERS YOUR PRAYERS.

GINGER: HERE'S A QUESTION FROM GABRIELLE AND SHE SAYS,

"GOD LOVES US SO MUCH, WHY DOES HE LET BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO US,

PARTICULARLY BELIEVERS?" JOYCE: WELL, "MANY ARE THE

AFFLICTIONS OF THE RIGHTEOUS.

GOD DELIVERS HIM OUT OF THEM ALL."

AND I THINK IT'S IMPORTANT TO ESTABLISH THAT GOD IS NOT

THE SOURCE OF OUR PROBLEMS.

SATAN IS.

AND AS FAR AS WHY DOESN'T GOD STOP THEM SOONER THAN HE DOES,

I MEAN, IF GOD'S GONNA DELIVER ME IN THREE WEEKS, WHY CAN'T

HE DELIVER ME NOW?

THOSE ARE QUESTIONS THAT REALLY ARE HIDDEN IN THE MYSTERIES OF

GOD THAT WE DON'T REALLY KNOW HOW TO ANSWER.

YOU KNOW, IN ROMANS 8 WE ALWAYS TALK ABOUT HOW WE KNOW THAT ALL

THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD TO THOSE THAT LOVE GOD AND ARE

CALLED ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE.

BUT THERE'S ACTUALLY SOMETHING ELSE VERY INTERESTING IN THERE.

IT STARTS OUT IN VERSE 26 AND SAYS: "WE DON'T KNOW HOW TO PRAY

AS WE OUGHT TO SO THERE'S THINGS WE DON'T KNOW.

SOMETIMES YOU'RE HURTING SO BAD YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO PRAY

BUT WE DO KNOW THAT GOD WORKS ALL THINGS OUT FOR GOOD.

SO WE DON'T KNOW WHY GOD DOESN'T DELIVER US SOONER.

SOMETIMES WE'VE PRAYED ABOUT IT AND PRAYED ABOUT IT, WE DON'T

EVEN KNOW HOW TO PRAY ABOUT IT ANYMORE, BUT WE DO KNOW FROM OUR

PAST EXPERIENCE AND FROM THE WORD THAT GOD CAN

AND WILL TAKE THE BAD THING.

HE DIDN'T DO THE BAD THING BUT HE CAN TAKE IT AND WORK IT OUT

TO OUR GOOD.

YOU CONTINUE TO BELIEVE THAT GOD IS GOOD, EVEN THOUGH, YOU KNOW,

I HEAR MYSELF SAYING SOMETIMES, "I FEEL LIKE YOU'RE ABANDONED

ME," BUT I KNOW YOU HAVEN'T.

SO WHAT WE KNOW IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN WHAT WE FEEL.

GINGER: YEAH, YOU KNOW, YOU JUST TOOK A VERY, VERY DIFFICULT

QUESTION THAT WE ALL DEAL WITH AND PUT SOME REAL GODLY

PRACTICAL ANSWERS TO IT.

AND LIKE YOU SAID, IT'S NOT A COMPLETE ANSWER.

IT'S NOT THAT WE UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING.

IT IS A MYSTERY.

BUT TO KNOW THAT GOD'S HAND IS ON EACH ONE OF US WITH LOVE,

WITH A PLAN FOR GOOD, REALLY MAKES A DIFFERENCE.

FEMALE: GINGER, THESE ARE MY DAUGHTERS, JESSICA, JULIE,

AND THIS ROOM HERE IS WHERE MY HUSBAND AND I STAY WITH OUR

YOUNGEST DAUGHTER.

JULIE SLEEPS ON THE COUCH AND BACK HERE IS OUR CLOTHES SO

WE'RE LIVING OUT OF OUR LUGGAGE, PRACTICALLY.

THESE TOTES HAVE BECOME OUR PANTRY.

WE HAVE OUR FOOD IN THERE.

OUR OLDEST TWO DAUGHTERS ARE IN THIS ROOM AND SO EACH ONE OF 'EM

TAKES A BED AND THEIR LUGGAGE, 'CAUSE WE'RE LIVING OUT OF OUR

LUGGAGE.

GINGER: RIGHT, RIGHT, OH, AND HERE WE ALSO HAVE THE PETS.

FEMALE: RIGHT, THE PETS.

GINGER: A DOG AND A CAT.

FEMALE: BARON AND TIGGER, THE DOG AND THE CAT.

AND THEY'RE CONSTANTLY AT EACH OTHER.

GINGER: WHAT IS IT LIKE LIVING IN THE HOTEL WITH

YOUR FAMILY?

FEMALE: IT'S BEEN--YOU KNOW, ONE NIGHT, MY 13-YEAR-OLD

DAUGHTER COMES TO ME AND SHE SAYS, "MOM, I NEED HUGS."

AND SO I SAID, "C'MON, BABY."

IT WAS BEDTIME.

AND SO WE'RE CUDDLING AND SHE JUST STARTS CRYING.

AND SHE SAYS, "MOM, I MISS HOME."

AND I SAID, "I THINK OUR MUD HAS TO GO."

AS TO THE WHY, WHY A LOVING GOD WOULD ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN.

AND YES, HE COULD HAVE STOPPED THE WATER.

AND THEN MY DAUGHTER STOPS ME IN MID-SENTENCE, SHE SAYS,

"YEAH, MOM, YOU'RE RIGHT."

SHE SAYS, "PEOPLE WOULD HAVE SAID, 'OH, WE WERE SO LUCKY.'"

I SAID, "EXACTLY, PEOPLE WOULD HAVE NEVER ACKNOWLEDGED THAT

HE STOPPED THE WATER."

AND IN THE MIDST OF IT ALL, THERE'S TESTIMONIES AND WE SEE

THE HAND OF GOD, OF HOW HE'S JUST PROVIDING, HOW HE KEPT US

SAFE AND HOW HE CONTINUES TO CARRY US THROUGH.

GINGER: NOW, I UNDERSTAND THAT IT WILL BE A COMPLETE

SURPRISE TO YOU.

YOU'RE NOT ABLE TO SEE THE PROCESS AS IT'S HAPPENING.

IS THAT RIGHT?

YOU KNOW, I REMEMBER ONE TIME A WOMAN SAYING TO ME, "WELL, YOU

KNOW, YOU GO ON THESE MISSIONS TRIPS," I THINK I'D JUST COME

BACK FROM INDIA, "AND YOU SEE ALL THESE THOUSANDS UPON

THOUSANDS OF STARVING CHILDREN, DON'T YOU FEEL LIKE IT'S KIND OF

USELESS, ALL THE WORK YOU DO AND THE MONEY YOU PUT INTO IT.

NO MATTER HOW MANY YOU HELP, THERE'S ALWAYS GONNA BE MORE

THAT NEED HELP."

AND I WENT TO GOD WITH THE QUESTION BECAUSE I WANTED

TO HAVE AN ANSWER IF I WAS EVER ASKED THAT AGAIN.

AND WHAT GOD PUT ON MY HEART IS THAT IF YOU CAN ONLY HELP ONE

PERSON IT'S WORTH DOING.

BECAUSE THE WHOLE POINT IS YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO RELIEVE

SOMEBODY ELSE'S SUFFERING TODAY.

AND YOU CAN DO IT THROUGH HELPING US FINANCIALLY

AT HAND OF HOPE CONTINUE TO REACH OUT TO

I THINK ONE OF THE GREATEST THINGS THAT WE CAN DO IS LAY OUR

OWN BURDENS ASIDE LONG ENOUGH TO GO HELP SOMEBODY ELSE.
