Waching daily Jul 31 2018

Hello and welcome back all my dragon ball theorist there have been many comments on

maybe Broly could be the Saiyan Beerus dreamed about.

How could that be the case though?

He isn't a Super Saiyan God and Beerus already found the only Saiyan God in existence at

that time.

When Shenron was summoned he couldn't bring them a Super Saiyan God cause none exist and

had to inform them of the ritual in order to create a Super Saiyan God for Beerus to

fight right there.

The rest is history and Goku was chosen to ascend and attain God Ki in order to please

Beerus and see if the prophetic dream he had was right.

That he would do battle with a formidable enemy and that enemy was a Super Saiyan God.

Or was it....?

Well there are a lot of issues with Beerus dream and it's details or that if it even

was a Saiyan God.

After Beerus first awakened he went to a planet to get food that

he never had before and felt it would help him remember the guy he saw in his dream.

Whis curiously asked what dream?

His prophetic dream of course.

However Whis was quick to remind him that his prophetic dreams aren't very accurate

are they?

Then Beerus attacked by the natives there decided that he didn't want the food and blew

up the planet.

Then in that moment was reminded yet again of his prophetic dream and this unknown warrior

that caused him to rise out of his 39 year slumber.

The reason he woke up though and had this dream is because the Oracle fish planted this

seed before Beerus went to sleep.

He once predicted that in 39 years a formidable enemy of Beerus would appear.

So 39 years have past and now Beerus had a dream and is now looking for this enemy that

would challenge him.

Except what is his name...Beerus thinks it's a Super Saiyan God but then says in his own

words maybe or maybe not...

Remember Whis said his dreams aren't that accurate.

So when going back to the castle and seeking the one who first told the prophecy, the Oracle

fish actually forgot.

He actually doesn't know for certain his name but when threatened does scream out Super

Saiyan God and then Beerus quest for this Saiyan begins but as we know he is looking

in all the wrong places.

In a way part of the prophecy did come true because Beerus ended up putting in motion

everything because he wanted to fight a Super Saiyan God and wouldn't settle for

anything less.

So that's exactly what happened except while you could debate if Goku was actually formidable

or not for Beerus is one thing.

However the prophetic dream is that he would do battle with a formidable

enemy.

One thing Goku is not is an enemy of Beerus.

Then in Beerus flash back he states the ultimate warrior that no one

has seen yet.

However everything Goku has done is well documented and why they saught him out by going to King

Kai's planet.

So Goku is not the ultimate warrior no one has seen or the enemy that will rise up to

challenge Beerus.

He isn't either of these things.

So Beerus did have this dream influenced by a prophecy then being stubborn with his prophetic

dream forced an outcome he would be satisfied with for now but Goku wasn't the one.

The one in his dream wasn't a God.

He is a warrior that somehow no one has seen.

An unknown saiyan with black hair that is the ultimate warrior and a

formidable opponent.

Things in Dragon Ball get retconned all the time and Broly could be this saiyan that Beerus

dreamed about and what the Oracle fish prophicized.

No one has seen Broly and the Saiyans aren't actually fond of Beerus being that he wanted

to destroy them and asked Frieza to do it.

Perhaps Paragus had the foresight of things to come and escaped long ago and

has been plotting one day to seek revenge on Frieza and Beerus.

That one day Broly would be strong enough to challenge Beerus and kill him for what

he has done.

Broly and Paragus most certainly could of been planning for many years to get their

revenge.

They are an enemy of Beerus and now could be the time where Broly is that

formidable warrior.

Which is why now we are just learning of Broly this unknown saiyan.

The saiyan that Beerus dream was about.

Now I want to know what you think is Broly the unknown warrior that Beerus had a prophetic

dream about?

Could Paragus and Broly been planning for many years to seek

revenge on Beerus and now is that time?

I always love to hear your theories in the comments below and if you enjoyed this video

The Majority of Supermarket Meats Are Still Riddled With Superbugs

JULY 26, 2018 By Dr. Mercola

For a number of years now, researchers have warned we are headed toward a post-antibiotic

world — a world in which infections that used to be easily treatable become death sentences

as they can no longer be touched by available drugs.

As reported by NPR July 2, 2018:1

"A woman in Nevada dies from a bacterial infection that was resistant to 26 different

antibiotics.

A U.K. patient contracts a case of multidrug-resistant gonorrhea never seen before.

A typhoid superbug kills hundreds in Pakistan.

These stories from recent years — and many others — raise fears about the possibility

of a post-antibiotic world."

In the video above, NPR explains how antibiotic resistance develops, and what can be done

to stem the swelling tide of drug-resistant infections.

Importantly, misuse and overuse must be reined in.

Despite strong warnings, about 80 percent of the antibiotics sold in the U.S. are still

given to livestock — not to treat acute infections but as a preventive measure, and

as a growth promoter.

This routine low-dose administration is a most dangerous practice, as it primes bacteria

for resistance.

As explained in the video, when antibiotics are given, any bacteria that survive are now

stronger and can more readily evade the drug the next time around.

This is also why, when you're given a course of antibiotics for an infection, the instructions

will tell you to take the full course and not stop early.

It's important to eradicate all the bacteria before stopping, or else you risk developing

an even harder-to-treat infection as surviving bacteria will have developed hardier resistance.

Highly Resistant Bacteria Are on the Move Tests conducted in 2017 on nearly 5,780 antibiotic-resistant

bacterial samples collected from hospitals and nursing homes revealed 1 in 4 samples

contained genes known to confer drug resistance, and 221 of them, collected from 27 states,

contained a particularly rare drug-resistance gene that confers a very high level of resistance.2,3

This hardy resistance gene was found in a number of different types of infections, including

pneumonia, bloodstream infections and urinary tract infections (UTIs).

Disturbingly, follow-up screening showed nearly 1 in 10 asymptomatic contacts tested positive

for drug-resistant bacteria carrying this rare gene, which means it can, and likely

has, spread to other patients who have come into contact with an infected individual.

The emergence and rapid spread of this new drug resistance gene is deeply troubling,

as it can cause untreatable infections where supportive care is the only option.4 With

intravenous fluids, you may recover as long as your immune system is strong enough.

If your immune function is weak, the infection could turn lethal.

It's hard to fathom a situation where people are routinely dying from UTIs and pneumonia

— both of which have for decades been easily treatable with antibiotics — but that's

where we're headed.

Drug-resistant sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are also on the rise, making STD infection

a very serious concern, especially as prevalence has also sharply increased in recent years.

In California, STD prevalence has increased by 45 percent in the past five years alone.

Gonorrhea, Syphilis and UTIs Becoming Increasingly Resistant to Treatment

There's now evidence showing syphilis and gonorrhea are developing pan-resistance, meaning

they're impervious to several different antibiotics.

Drug-resistant UTIs are also on the rise, and the spread of antibiotic-resistant UTIs

has been directly linked to the consumption of chicken meat contaminated with drug-resistant

bacteria.

•Syphilis has developed resistance against azithromycin, the second drug of choice for

this infection,8 and recent research9 shows both of the two main strains of syphilis have

developed drug resistance.

The Street Strain 14 (SS14), which is a newer strain, appears to be far more drug-resistant

than the older Nichols strain.

A whopping 90 percent of the SS14 samples had drug resistance genes.

The number of babies born infected with syphilis contracted from their mother has also quadrupled

and, with it, stillbirths have spiked as well.10

•Gonorrhea is now resistant to all antibiotics that have been used against it — including

penicillin, tetracycline and fluoroquinolone antibiotics — and is rapidly developing

resistance against cephalosporins, the drug of last resort.

Resistance to cefixime and ceftriaxone has already been reported in more than 50 countries.

8 in 10 Supermarket Meats Are Contaminated With Fecal Bacteria, Many of Which are Antibiotic-Resistant

For a number of years now, tests have revealed meats are a source of drug-resistant bacteria,

with factory farmed meats having the highest levels of contamination.

This includes pork, beef and poultry.

According to a 2017 report by the CDC, 22 percent of antibiotic-resistant illness in

humans is linked to consumption of contaminated foods, and tests have shown ground beef from

animals raised in concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFOs) is three times more likely

to contain antibiotic-resistant bacteria than grass fed beef.22

This really is no surprise, since overuse of antibiotics in livestock is the primary

driver of antibiotic resistance, and CAFOs routinely use antibiotics.23 Most recently,

an Environmental Working Group (EWG) analysis of food testing done by the Food and Drug

Administration (FDA) in 2015 reveals 83 percent of supermarket meats were contaminated with

enterococcus faecalis (fecal bacteria), and a high percentage of them had antibiotic-resistant

bacteria:24,25

•79 percent of ground turkey samples were contaminated with drug-resistant enterococcus

faecalis, 87 percent of which were resistant to tetracyclines, antibiotics deemed "highly

important" by WHO, used in human medicine to treat bronchitis, pneumonia and UTIs; 73

percent of the salmonella found on ground turkey was antibiotic-resistant salmonella

•71 percent of pork chops were contaminated with drug-resistant enterococcus faecalis,

84 percent of which were resistant to tetracyclines

•62 percent of ground beef samples were contaminated with drug-resistant enterococcus

faecalis, 26 percent of which were resistant to tetracyclines.

One reason for the high contamination rate of ground beef has to do with the fact that

it's a mix of meat from thousands of animals.26 A single animal with drug-resistant bacteria

can therefore contaminate large batches of meat

•36 percent of chicken breasts, legs, thighs and wings were contaminated with drug-resistant

enterococcus faecalis, 71 percent of which were resistant to tetracyclines; 1 in 5 strains

of salmonella was resistant to amoxicillin, a type of penicillin, which as a class is

designated as "critically important" in human medicine.

Amoxicillin is the No. 1 antibiotic prescribed to children in the U.S.

Chicken Has Been Consistently Prone to High Levels of Bacterial Contamination

Over the years, food testing has shown that chicken is particularly prone to contamination

with not just antibiotic-resistant bacteria but also other dangerous pathogens.

Consumer report testing in 2007 found 80 percent of whole chicken broilers harbored salmonella

and/or campylobacter,27 two of the leading causes of foodborne illness.

Retesting in 2010 revealed a modest improvement, with "only" two-thirds being contaminated

with these disease-causing bacteria.

Just 34 percent of the broilers tested clear of these two pathogens.

The improvement didn't last long.

In 2013, Consumer Reports28 found potentially harmful bacteria on 97 percent of the chicken

breasts tested, and half of them had at least one type of bacteria that was resistant to

three or more antibiotics.

Salmonella contamination is of particular concern, as data suggests multidrug-resistant

salmonella has become particularly prevalent.

And raw chicken has become a notorious carrier of salmonella, campylobacter, clostridium

perfigens and listeria bacteria.29 Contaminated chicken and turkey also cause the most deaths

from food poisoning.30

How to Protect Yourself Against Foodborne Drug-Resistant Pathogens

According to the EWG:

"Of the 14 antibiotics the FDA tested in 2014, salmonella had developed resistance

genes to 13.

E. coli developed resistance to all of them.

This is concerning because the gene for resistance to an antibiotic — for example, tetracycline

— can be passed from a resistant enterococcus indicator bacteria to a neighboring pathogenic

salmonella bacteria, creating a resistant infection.

Currently, the FDA analyzes resistance trends in bacteria only for 'combinations of medical

importance,' burying its head in the sand when it comes to how resistance spreads among

bacteria.

We believe that bacterial resistance to a single antibiotic is superbug enough, and

consumers shouldn't have to wait for widespread, multiple-drug resistance and untreatable bacterial

infections for the FDA to protect them.

Now is the time for the federal government to get medically important antibiotics out

of factory farms."

In the meantime, what can you do to protect your health and that of your family?

One obvious answer is to seek out the safest meat sources you can find.

Your best bet is to buy directly from farmers who use antibiotics judiciously or not at

all.

Other tips include:

If you buy meat in the grocery store, become a savvy label reader.

Topping the EWG's list of "most reliable" meat labels is the American Grassfed Association's

grass fed label.31 Labels to be wary of include "no antibiotic residues," "antibiotic

free," "no antibiotic growth promotants" and "natural," as none fully reveal a

company's use of antibiotics.

Store meats away from fresh produce, thaw in the fridge rather than on the counter and

avoid washing meats as this merely spreads bacteria around your sink and kitchen.

Always cook meats thoroughly.

Avoid buying raw chicken as the risk of it spreading dangerous bacteria around your kitchen

and cross-contaminating other foods is extremely high.

When eating out, ask if the meat was raised with antibiotics.

Beef would probably be a safer bet than chicken, even if it's not grass fed, just for the

fact that chicken is so prone to so many different kinds of bacterial contamination, including

foodborne pathogens and drug-resistant ones.

Ignorant Companies Like Sanderson Risk Human Health

A number of poultry producers have taken steps to cut down or eliminate antibiotics from

their production, including Perdue, Tyson,32 Pilgrim's Pride and Foster Farms.

Perdue — which started cutting back on antibiotics in 2002 — clearly shows that meat can be

profitably mass-produced without the use of antibiotics.

The company also demonstrates that eliminating antibiotics can make the meat safer.

Perdue received the highest safety score in the 2010 Consumer Reports test33 mentioned

earlier, which checked for the presence of salmonella and campylobacter in commercial

chicken meat.

Fifty-six percent of Perdue's chickens were free of both pathogens at that time, while

80 percent of Tyson and Foster Farms' chickens tested positive for one or both bacteria.

(Organic store brand chickens had no salmonella at all, but 57 percent still harbored campylobacter.)

Even back then, Perdue's exemplary success was attributed to its more stringent policies

on antibiotics.

The only company that has refused to take any measures to curb their antibiotic use

whatsoever is Sanderson Farms.34 Remarkably, the company decided to go public with its

decision to continue using antibiotics instead, calling public health concerns about antibiotic-resistant

bacteria "overblown,"35 claiming the antibiotic-free chicken trend is nothing but a marketing ploy

devised to justify higher prices, and that not using antibiotics would be inhumane to

the chickens.36

According to Lampkin Butts, president and chief operating officer of Sanderson Farms,

"There is not any credible science that leads us to believe we're causing antibiotic

resistance in humans."37 This stance is not only ignorant but also dangerous, and

flies in the face of science.

If you cause antibiotic resistance to develop in the animals, you're inevitably causing

it in humans.

Literally millions of lives are at stake if we do not put an end to agricultural antibiotics.

Sanderson also tries to confuse people by pointing out that no commercially sold chicken,

whether treated with antibiotics or not, will contain antibiotics by the time you buy it

since the antibiotics must be stopped in time before slaughter in order to ensure the drugs

are no longer in the animals' system.

However, this really doesn't address the actual concerns about antibiotic use in chickens,

because even if the antibiotics are no longer present in the chicken, the resistant bacteria

ARE, and they are the primary problem.

The good news is that investors are now starting to apply pressure, urging Sanderson Farms

to reconsider their use of antibiotics.

According to Reuters,38 a proposal to end the use of medically important antibiotics

for disease prevention in chickens "received the support of 43 percent of votes cast at

the company's annual meeting," held February 15, 2018.

That's 13 percent higher than a similar proposal presented in 2017, when only 30 percent

of investors voted to end the company's use

of antibiotics.

Strategies to Protect Yourself and Limit Spread of Drug-Resistant Bacteria

While the problem of antibiotic resistance needs to be stemmed through public policy

on a nationwide level, the more people who get involved on a personal level, the better.

On an individual level, you can help minimize the problem by focusing on:

Infection prevention, with a focus on strengthening your immune system naturally.

Avoiding sugars, processed foods and grains, promoting stress reduction and optimizing

your sleep and vitamin D level are foundational for this.

Adding in traditionally fermented and cultured foods is also important, as this will help

optimize your microbiome.

Limiting your use of antibiotics.

Any time your doctor prescribes an antibiotic, ask if it's absolutely necessary, and keep

in mind that antibiotics do not work for viral infections.

For example, antibiotics are typically unnecessary for most ear infections, and they do not work

on the common cold or flu, both of which are caused by viruses.

Avoiding antibiotics in food by purchasing organic or biodynamic grass fed meats and

animal products.

Avoiding antibacterial household products such as antibacterial soaps, hand sanitizers

and wipes, as these promote antibiotic resistance by allowing the strongest bacteria to survive

and thrive in your home.

Properly washing your hands with warm water and plain soap, to prevent the spread of bacteria.

Be particularly mindful of washing your hands and kitchen surfaces after handling raw meats,

as about half of all meat sold in American grocery stores is likely to be contaminated

with pathogenic bacteria.

Avoid antibiotic soaps that typically have dangerous chemicals like triclosan.

Common-sense precautions in the kitchen: Kitchens are notorious breeding grounds for disease-causing

bacteria, courtesy of contaminated meat products, including antibiotic-resistant strains of

E-coli.

To avoid cross-contamination between foods in your kitchen, adhere to the following recommendations:

•Use a designated cutting board, preferably wood, not plastic, for raw meat and poultry,

and never use this board for other food preparation, such as cutting up vegetables.

Color coding your

cutting boards is a simple way to distinguish between them

•To sanitize your cutting board, use hot water and detergent.

Simply wiping it off with a rag will not destroy the bacteria

•For an inexpensive, safe and effective kitchen counter and

cutting board sanitizer, use 3 percent hydrogen peroxide

and vinegar.

Keep each liquid in a separate spray bottle, and then spray the surface with one, followed

by the other, and wipe off

•Coconut oil can also be used to clean, treat and sanitize your wooden cutting boards.

It's loaded with lauric acid that has potent antimicrobial actions.

The fats will also help condition the wood

Natural Immune Boosters For most infections, antibiotics are unnecessary.

There are a number of different plants and natural remedies you

can use to fight infections, and contrary to antibiotic drugs, these do not promote

the development of drug resistance.

Natural compounds with antimicrobial activity include:

Garlic Cinnamon Oregano extract Colloidal silver

Manuka honey (Clinical trials have found that Manuka honey can effectively eradicate more

than 250 clinical strains of bacteria, including some resistant varieties, including MRSA)

Probiotics and fermented foods Echinacea Sunlight and vitamin D

Using Facebook Pages to Connect with Your Community - Anne-Maree Kerr - Duration: 56:57.

well afternoon and welcome to today's webinar we have most of the participants coming

into the view at the moment and we are going to get started straightaway as I

have lots and lots of things to cover with you guys today lots of content lots

of great tips lots of hints and hopefully you have some questions for me

as well which i think is what makes webinars so brilliant is the ability for

us to interact my name is Anne-Maree Kurr I'm from a AMK Training and

consulting and I'm presenting this today on behalf of Leep and I'm hoping to

share with you ideas, techniques and strategies that you can employ to

increase the sense of community around your Facebook page there is a focus on

not-for-profits and community organizations today but the tips are

going to apply to most businesses as well because I think what most of us

want out of our Facebook pages whether it be for a small not-for-profit in

regional area or a law firm in the city we want the people who come to our page

to feel like part of a community so we're going to talk about some of the

techniques today that we can use to make sure that that happens

so this Seven Club Sports who are a fantastic resource they've identified

seven main reasons that not-for-profits use social media I thought I'd kick off

with these today so you can begin to think about what it is about a Facebook

page that you think you would use with your community so the first one is

sharing news and I think this is sort of the go-to and the main reason we have a

Facebook page is that we wanted to share coming up what events we have what's

happening in our community and I think they're all really valid reasons for

utilizing a Facebook page there's also brand recognition so when

you're using social media you need to constantly be

thinking about it is what I'm posting within my brand am I using colours if

that's applicable am i using the correct fonts that I've been you know instructed

or or asked to use all of those ideas sort of come into play there so I'll

talk a little bit more about that when we get to images a little bit further

down the track it could be education about the cause

and mission of your not-for-profit or your community group so telling people

exactly what it is you do what it is you're hoping to do and the ways that

you're going about that. It could also be for fundraising not so much an issue

here in Australia although I tell you what with the ways the funding is

changing maybe it's something we do need to think about but if you're running a

gathering or a trivia night then social media is absolutely going to be one of

your best ways to go about that you could use it for volunteer recruitment

and leap does this fantastically so putting out the call when you need

volunteers or a certain event or for an ongoing feature that your

not-for-profit is running - your volunteers are on social media so this is a

fantastic way to get the message out. It could also be for donor recognition so

if you're you've run a golf day and people have sponsored donated prizes

then you really want to spread that message far and wide and last but not

least employee recruitment so do you have you know some jobs going are you

hiring and you can put the word out and encourage people to share that within

their social media and on their networks and then you'll find that you know you

get a much greater reach than simply putting an ad in the local paper so once

you've identified what you're going to be using social media and in today's

case Facebook pages to achieve it is really important to implement measures

for your success as well think about what is success for you and it could be

as simple or starting off as simply as am i reaching more people? am i

getting more likes? and something I think that everyone should be striving for is

am i engaging in our am i encouraging conversations on my facebook page we're

going to talk about that one a lot today as well

so the golden rules of social media - be transparent, honest and consistent, listen,

respond and be successful. there can be no doubting the power impact and

empowerment that social media has given to individuals and organisations it

enables the telling of stories it enables you to spark conversations but

it's no different to communication throughout time we're just looking at a

different format and communication in person can go well it can go badly

social media is a little bit the same things can go wrong leading into that is

a very important question do you need a policy absolutely positively without

question you need a policy for social media and the reasons that a policy is

so important for you to have is that it enables you to set boundaries and it

also enables you to have a really great resource for maybe when things aren't

going so well. So again it's not something I'm going to delve into too deeply today but

it's not about restricting people hence the padlock here it's not about locking

people down but once you know where the boundaries are it gives you a freedom up

until that point so if you have a list of questions that people might be asking

about your service if you have some very defined answers for those questions then

it takes that pressure off staff members when it comes to answering them they

don't have to question - am i giving them the right information? the same with negative

information or negative commentary on your social media page if you have a way

of respond and you have some set guidelines about

how you respond to negative feedback or negative commentary what you will find

is that it takes a little bit of the at the moment emotion out of it and you're

prepared for you know you're you're able to respond in a in a much calmer manner

and I actually had to deal with this on one of my facebook pages last week

someone was hugely critical. they weren't critical of me or my business

that are actually being critical of a Facebook feature which all of a sudden

is hiding your opening hours and just tells you or tells your audience whether

you're opened or closed so I was very calm and measured slightly annoyed that

I had to do it but I keep emotion out of it because that never goes well on

social media if you get too emotional so a couple of the reasons that you might

need a policy number one to protect your company's reputation to minimise

confusion about legal issues so you know what can we say and what can't we say

before we sort of step over a boundary to raise awareness of your brand

okay so part of your policy might be about - these are the colours we use, these

are the positioning and the type of pictures that we use that's not a

restrictive thing that's very much what your policy can do to empower your - your

employees as well some of the things that you might want to outline in your

policy and these are just a few ideas so what the overall objective is are you

looking at a customer service page is it about sharing ideas so you know have

clarity about what your Facebook page's purpose is and again that will help

everyone when it comes to posting information. what's the tone of voice? if

you've got multiple people posting on your Facebook page it's really important

that you all come across in a similar way and believe me this is so much

easier when there's only one of you because you are the voice but it's

really disconcerting to your audience when you have someone who's very formal

and someone who's very fun and they're sort of posting you know

next to each other so think about the tone that you want to your Facebook page

to provide and try and get everyone who posts is sort of you know stay within

that idea. Response times - how quickly do you respond I'm going to show you a

messenger in a little bit and messenger is actually becoming an incredibly

powerful feature of Facebook the ability to message Facebook pages came in quite

a while ago but they're now allowing you to set up automated responses to have

some frequently asked questions on messenger so that you don't necessarily

have to be involved and the advent of the Facebook Messenger bot B-O-T is a

very interesting feature which you know allows you to basically set up a tiny

little robot running in your facebook Messenger that can send information to

people attach presentations guide them to your website if that's what's

required it really is quite amazing and the technology behind it is so

clever that you yourselves don't have to be super clever you don't have to know

too much about it you can actually set up some really really clever features

and I was at a conference last week where HubSpot in particular did this in

a really clever way and absolutely inspired me to to go away and learn more

about it another thing to include is your content so what are you going to

share and thinking about you know what types of content if you're a government

organisation you might want to wash anything political you might want to say

"okay I don't think this is areas that we want to step into" but if you're a local

neighborhood center and you believe that advocating for your community is really

important then it might be something you will allow so the tired of your

organization and what you do is very much going to be impacted by this and

then as I've already mentioned it's just dealing with negativity and complaints

so what's your complaints procedure think about how this will look in social

media and you know try to avoid getting into those

emotional slanging matches online because no one's going to win when that

happens so social media governance is a really great resource that I can just

share with you there there are some pre-built policies that you can download

and edit and work with and if you're particularly worried you might want to

just get a local lawyer involved just get them to cast an eye over it because

as we're all discovering what happens on social media definitely stays on social

media and can come out and bite us in the real world as well okay so now we

start to think about your Facebook page and for those of you who have a fate a

very active Facebook page at the moment you're probably thinking this is a very

strange statement for me to make which is start by not thinking about social

media but where a lot of people get themselves stuck and where they make

some very very big and very costly mistakes, is they get themselves into the

mindset that it's all about the social media "we need a Facebook page because

everyone tells us to okay we're going to create a Facebook page we're going to

put some content up there we're going to do all these things we've been told but

what they're often forgetting is what needs to come before that and they need

to think about what do we - as an organisation - what is our role what is

our objective in our community, what is it that we want to do how do we want to

grow how do we want to improve if you start to think about it from these

points of view, social media just becomes a tool that you are using to achieve

those objectives if you think about social media that is in the deep within

itself it's not going to work so well it absolutely has to tie in with the goals

the mission the vision of your organization then once you know what

that is you can start to look at how social media can help you reach those goals

so it's not just a megaphone for your businesses it's not it's not a way for

you to stand out on the street and tell people about yourselves social media

doesn't work like that but if you can use it to craft your story, to craft some

very clever you know potentially advertising then you're going to win in

the long run but so are your community more importantly, because they're absolutely

at the center of all of this there are lots of social media forms out there as

I said today we are focusing on Facebook pages and if you try to have a presence

on all of them none of them are going to work and by working with the community

organizations and the not-for-profits Instagram and Facebook are your friends

you know it really are the the the two spaces where you can make really great

headway you've got very, very large audiences to work with but just as a bit

of an aside don't discount LinkedIn it's becoming very powerful and it

is a tool that I think most business managers people working in the community

sector can absolutely gain from. And we'll will be covering LinkedIn in another

session. so you need to concentrate on if you're when you're setting up your

Facebook page you need to concentrate on growing your audience and increasing

engagement. okay and you can do this by becoming a bit of an authority on your

subject matter so if you are the head of the transport organization in regional

New South Wales you can share what you know about your area, your business

transport in general, you know you've got all these fields that you can start to

say, "hey we as an organisation we really know what we're talking about and we're

willing to share that information with you". you can then start to engage your

community around these ideas and listen to their feedback so by asking questions

posing questions on your page listening to the responses and

actually encouraging that conversation the conversation doesn't have to be

between you and your audience, it can start to be between your audience members as

well and interestingly Facebook regard this as "authentic conversation" and

"authentic engagement" so if you can start people you know having a bit of a chat

on your Facebook page about an issue then you're actually a long way to

getting more people to see your Facebook page as well because the higher Facebook

rank what's happening on your Facebook page the more that people are actually

going to see it and your audience are going to see more of what you post so

don't just blast information out think about how it can be crafted in such a

way that you're encouraging that engagement and that listening. build that

conversation and have a little bit of consistency about it as well so you know

if you have a local issue of the week on your Facebook page you know not a bad

idea do it on a Wednesday Wednesday's issue of the week so that

people who are following your page start to see that that's what you're doing and

then they know that that's when they can start to get involved a big part of that

authority that you need to generate is becoming an expert and this is sort of

one of those social media tips that it's so vital to what you do know, I'm known as

a bit of a geek that's okay with me that's my thing so when people have

questions about technology or anything to do with social or web or Excel or

PowerPoint I'm often their go-to because you know over time and through my

sharing of knowledge I've sort of managed to carve out that as my little

bit of expertise so you can do this in several different ways and one that I've

absolutely recommend is blogging now blogging is absolutely the oldest of our

social tools it has been around now for about 18

years I think when it first got created funnily enough it was it had the same

action as social media tools that have come out since so it's the whole why do

we care about what people ate for breakfast because weirdly that's how a

lot of these social media platforms start when people are blogging they'll

writing about what they had for breakfast and Facebook came about they

were photographing it and then writing a description

when Instagram came about they were just beautifully styling their granola and

sterling there and popping it up there for us but as them as the platform's

aged and as they evolved they do become so much more than that and blogging now

is really you're long format words where you can really nut out a great idea a

great thought a great techniques and some useful tips that someone can take

advantage of so the blogging although it's not your Facebook page it becomes

slightly an integral to it so your blog would live on your website for example

if your organization has a website I would absolutely encourage you to

implement a blog page or a latest news page on there and then you know in three

to five hundred words you can really delve in and and really get to the get

to grips with a topic that can then be shared on your Facebook page for your

issue of the way you these things starts to lead into each other and they do that

really really well so think about that and know the benefits of blogging are

immense you know they enhance your credibility

they're actually brilliant for what we call search engine optimization or SEO

because you've got that you constant change and that linking in and out that

we really love. You get more website traffic you've actually got a bit of

control of your online identity because you're crafting it okay so with a blog

yes your hope you're potentially you know it lives somewhere else but you're

not putting all your eggs in the Facebook basket okay so that when

Facebook change their algorithm for example or when Facebook

make a major change and they do this regularly they do it to stay current but

they also do it to stay on top of us you know we they're constantly making a

scrabble a little bit to stay up to date and a blog is a little bit different a

blog is more of your space but then you can utilize that beautiful blog you've

written you can turn it into audio you can turn it into video and then you've

got all these other means of which to to share that information. once you've got

your information out there you've got to have that engagement you've got to have

that listening so we've already said Facebook rewards posts that have

interaction if you post something then no one responds Facebook aren't going to

show it to anyone so if you post five times a week and no one looks at it on

Monday no one looks at it on Tuesday you're really going to start to struggle

throughout the end of the week because Facebook is starting to see that people

are not engaging in your content so - you know you've got to look at what's

working what's failing and really craft the ones that are succeeding what ones

are getting the answers what ones are getting the responses once you start to

get the responses it's a little bit like a mos you know a rolling stone

gathering moss you can build on that and it will continue to grow you've got

to get that initial interaction though

so you're going to identify some trigger points the first step to engaging your

audience is to identify the types of content they respond to you'll need to

do research to do this and there's no quick fix so for example if you just

post up a post saying on this week we have meeting on Wednesday and on

Thursday we're going to the pub for lunch you might not get any great

interaction with that but if you put up a post saying coming up next week we're

going to the pub and you have a beautiful image of the local pub you

know look stunning the Sun setting on it and look really really great you know

what do you have you planned out what you're having for line

let us know below didn't you know that those tiny little elements the

additional future the question mark being being generated you're going to

get a lot more engagement with that second post than the first one another

thing you can do is look at how other organizations are engaging their

audiences have a look at who's doing it well now they don't have to be

organizations exactly like yours but think about you know I'm a small not for

profit in a regional area, they're a cafe in a regional area let me have a look at

what they're doing how are they engaging their audience because their audience

size is going to be similar so how can I look at what they're doing look at

what's going well what's not working for them you know when you look at a

Facebook post you can see how many people have liked it how many people

have commented look at the ones that are doing really well and think about how

you could achieve that yourself you can also use things like Google Trends so

Google Trends actually tracks what is you know what other people are looking

at within your community in your area you can narrow it down by country what I

did this this morning all anyone cares about is the world cup they might think

well the world cup has got nothing to do with me but you know what you can make

it something that you're you know we're going to you know who are you going for

did you watch the game last night is there one struggling you know you can

make these trending topics have some sort of linking with your audience so

you can go on to Google Trends and it's a live update and it's actually showing

you what people are looking for what people are talking about you start to

get a feel for you know the topics people are interested in at any one time

think about various content format so Facebook let you use text, video, live

video, polls, pictures, slideshows all of these are available so make sure you

mixing it up the whole just a bit of text and a bit of you know nice picture

that's great but you can do a lot more we're going to

show you what some of those look like

don't be afraid to use humor okay so when you're engaging people will you

know respond they'll have a laugh so think about how you could use that as

well so the question I get asked a lot I'm already busy how do I create more

content number one use a Content calendar actually sit down plan out the

posts contact your graphics think about what your words are going to be I've

actually given you guys a social media planner in Excel for you to have a look

at today I'll just quickly pull that up to show you. Or will I? It's just being a pain so

I've only done three months cuz the G if you can use three months worth I will be

so super impressed and I will give you a gold star and basically all it is it's

an Excel spreadsheet it's a little calendar and it's asking for potentially

up to four posts per day now this is not necessarily saying you have to have four

posts but the 2 to 3 mark is not out of the question and all you would do

is you would say okay I'm under a 2nd of July around midday I'm going to post

what's on this week is typing in look what's on this week and you know you

might even fill out that with as many notes as you like and then in the

afternoon I'm going to put a funny post about how hard Monday was and then I

should say I'm going to do something else and you just run through it and nut

out some ideas over here in the content bucket you can actually say you know

this is what my post title is if there's a link that's needed I can bit of a you

know description there I can link to my image that I want to

use and I do this maybe once a week maybe once a month and I don't

necessarily do it alone because what you want to do is you want to put all your heart

soul and effort into this in one go leave room for a bit of spontaneity

leave room for oh that's hilarious oh I'm going to share that on my page but

what you really want to do here is come up with a plan because I can guarantee

you I'm not going to sit down twice a day and plan out a social media post no

one no one on earth has time for that but you can put aside half an hour a

week or you can put aside one hour a month and I'm telling you that is all

you're going to need to do this as well and then once you've got the plan you

know you could scoot across to swapping tools again there are publishing tools

out there we can go to HootSuite having a bit of a snooze go away go away we can

go to HootSuite which lets us schedule we can go to Buffer which lets us schedule

our social media posts or we could use sprout social now these are just three

examples of tools that are out there HootSuite is very popular within the

not-for-profit sector because through Connecting Up they do offer very good

deals in terms of pricing wouldn't surprise me if buffer and sprout social

had not-for-profit pricing as well and it is really interesting with a lot of

these always ask the question it might not be listed on their pricing page but

a quick email through will often reveal that a company is very prepared to do

not for profit pricing so they're just three examples of ways that you can

schedule your tools and just another one and this is actually probably my

favuorite at the moment is using a project management tool

like Trello so all of your social media ideas just get listed in here and when

you think yep I'm actually going to pop that one into this week right

let's drag it across okay and then I can open him up I can put descriptions in

here I can add attachments I can do all sorts of things and work out where the

swirly or the best time is going to be to schedule those particular posts and

when we talk about best time it's really important to think about you know when

your audience are online as well so while my calendar just sort of gives a

very generic am midday afternoon PM you know you might find looking at your

insights that your audience is all online at 8 o'clock at night they might

all be online at 10 o'clock at night you've actually got that data you've

actually got that information and I'll show you either that as well

so they're just some of the tool you can use to help you but then the next

question is what do I what's my content what do I actually

posts about what I actually encourage you to do and the fantastic Monday

afternoon after a webinar tasks then look do this at home if you like sit

down with a glass of wine get a really lovely big piece of butchers paper a

couple of textas and think about what it is

that is associated with your organisation or with your business what

you can do is you can sit down so I did a local aged care respite Centre okay so I went

with some cooking classes some craft some outings you know we've got in

shared we've got movies we have functions we go on travel to us we have

troops games all these different things are part of my community organization that

I'm running now that took me less than a minute I'm not even part of that

organization but it's so it's such a great time to do and find that once you

get going you'll start on all these little sprouts well where do we go on

bus trips to let's list them what plants are planted in our garden

lurked was them what cooking classes are coming up will they all become events

what craft items are we creating they each become a potential topic that you

can post it out because you need to keep crediting fresh content people don't

want to see the same thing over and over again some of the Facebook pages I

follow it's the same image the same brand the same logo I start to ignore it

it starts to become just white noise on my Facebook feed but if I can offer them

up something different every time I'm going to start to get you know a lot

more impact and what you're potentially going to need to do here is you're also

going to need these for two different audiences so you might put the same post

up twice and one might be for the local community and one might be for the

people who are actually part of your organization or connected to your

organization in some way don't necessarily think that you only need to

post about something once there are chances of people seeing seeing it

without you actually paying quite a lot of money it's actually really low so

post things with different images post things with slightly different captions

and see you know which ones getting the best interaction which ones are working

do more of those other things that you can start to think about in terms of

your topics we've got things like what are our future plans you know how where

are we going as an organization if you do any sorts of strategic planning

things like that let your audience know about that take photograph the whiteboards and the flip

photos on the daycharts and then the my maps that you create and share them because they're

gonna look really great a little bit like that we have you know watch this

space we've got something exciting coming up soon we've got you know new

products and services - what's happening are we adding to our

services with you know things that the ndis coming in and my age care you know

there's lots of things to tell your audience about inform them take them to

sites you know take the latest legislation put it into nice friendly

words for them and you know you'll garner a following

because people will think these guys know these guys are helping these guys

know what we're going through and they're doing their best to help us

Follow the seasons you know jokes about the weather always go down a treat but

you know welcoming to spring welcoming desire you know things like that are

gracious happy whatever's you know happy take your dog to work day happy think

last week was nude hiking day or something on both lines again this is

bringing that humor into it that you're you know it's very much going to be

appreciated okay we've got other things with testimonials we've got an awards

that we get all of these things are potential topic banks for you if again

if you were to only pick one or two of these a week your social media calendar

is going to fill itself out with a lot more ease then if you just sit down

daily and go hmm what am I going to write about today because that's where

you're really going to struggle okay does anyone have you haven't got any

questions at the moment so I am going to just keep powering on just remember that

you can type in a question if you have one using the panel and I'll have

another look in about 10 to 15 minutes or so after we've looked at some images

which is our next very interesting topic so we're going to look at creating beautiful

images and something I encourage all of you to do whether you are a single

person not-for-profit or a large organization or a for-profit business

have an image library now there's a thousand ways you can go about this if

you're not so keen on being in front of the camera yourself try and find a

photographer will make you feel comfortable in front of the camera they

are definitely out there and they really can go a long way to helping you build

up that image bank you might find someone local who is prepared to come

into your organization for a few hours and take photos of the staff your

clients the people you support you know really build up a great bank of

images that you can repurpose and reuse on social media we love seeing the

people behind a business I think that's really important other things to do is

to be very organized with your images so I would suggest you know even if you're

using a combination of photos people have taken their iPhone some

professional images some stock photos that you found on the web

organize them well create a folder preferably in the cloud somewhere so

utilizing something like Google photos or Dropbox where people throughout your

organization can go and get those images when they need them so that you all have

access to the same feel of images the same ideas and people aren't sort of

scrambling and going i'll that'll do that's you know that'll do for now when

it's not on-brand it's you know not the style you're really going for so be

really organized with that when you're creating your images now here's just a

quick example I'm going to scoot over into the web again in a sec of the

difference a great image you know and a bit of work can make so if you're

scrolling through your Facebook feed what are the odds of you actually

actually looking at something like this you know put you know thanks for the

awesome training session we had the other day it was so relevant to our

needs and it reinforced that we're heading in the right direction that's a

great quote I'd kill for that quote I made it up by the way but if I'm

scrolling through my facebook feed with the millions of other things that I'm

seeing there's no way I'm gonna stop for that that is that is a tiny little blip

in my brain as I'm scrolling past we've got very short attention spans we have

all this stuff you know sort of trying to get our attention so that is not

going to make the stop this have on the other hand reached took me less than two

minutes to create is much better okay we have a doggo sure for starters and a

doggo picture is always really important because now I'm joking I know

a dog is always gonna make me stop - I'm always like oh what's the dog up to but

a great image from your organization from your

us ideally from the training that was held would be perfect is so much more

appealing so I'm not kidding you here that is less than two minutes work I've

thrown a bit of information there some great feedback thanks Jenny

if you want to discuss how we can help contact us below if this was like my

page and I just did this for me just to get it up really quickly if this was on

my page I would you know I'd have a message me for more information button

you know I'd give them a really quick great call to action so you know you can

see the difference there just from that to that which one is going to cause you

you know what what is gonna make you stop and what is going to make you stop

and read that information and then potentially create you know go with that

more there take that action and give that organization a call okay so some of

the tools that you can use to build some of this really great stuff - first up

where am I getting some of these pictures from I love unsplash and I do

share this pretty much no matter what I do I use this for presentation photos I

occasionally use it for social media photos the beautiful thing about

unsplash as a resource is that this is a community of people giving away their

photography so there's a really big difference between free photography and

royalty-free photography these guys are saying you are allowed use my image so

what actually happens when you search so if I searched for puppy just as a you

know why not I have six hundred and fourteen free puppy pictures they're

adorable and we could see here forever let's just say I wanted to use this

little guy I can download him and what will happen is he will hopefully very

quickly pop up into my there we go and then this little pop-up comes up and

said crediting isn't required but it is appreciated and allows photographers to

gain exposure so I can copy that text and then wherever I use that image I can

paste that little bit of crediting in as well so that's a really nice give back

to the photographer's and I do actually know people who have contacted

photographers and commissioned them to do some work out of this which is really

great the tools that are very very handy one that I love is Canva so Canva -

OOP there's my little dog oh that's been downloaded canva is a graphic design

tool that allows you to create graphics particularly for social media but also

allows you to create presentations and flyers and pretty much any sort of

marketing material that you can think of what you can actually see here is an

example of where I've created three different versions of something all from

you know a very similar branding perspective so what Canva allows you to

do is to create a design and you can choose the type of design that you're

going to create so if I click on my little more button here we social media

post we have documents we have ebooks marketing materials headers so a really

important element of your Facebook page is a is a header so we can actually come

in to these look the way I'm not getting my more button being a bit of a pain

there but I can do an event cover just as an example and when this loads up,

it gives you all these great templates to work from if you're particularly

creative you get from scratch but what a lot of people love in the

canva world is the ability to say oh I really like that and then I can just you

know double click change the text change the graphic we really got to do too much

thinking about you know fonts and layout and all those sorts of things

and it's a nice quick and easy way and then you can download that image once

you've finished it you can also access photography or stock photography within

canva as well so I find in a picture of a puppy telling young once I've got a

theme I tend to stick with it I can bring the little you know paw prints out

for example and decide I don't want my little fall leaves so don't want them at

all okay so I can delete them and I can use my little puppy paw print instead

okay so I can drag him up you can see how lost you could get in this very very

quickly and it's great so there is free canva you can also subscribe the pro

user it just lets you do things like save your brand colors and fonts in

there you can upload photographs and you can up grow up load your own logos so

you know this is actually my little daughter I can drag her out into the mix

if I want to bring her in and you can put your logos up there as well so I can

drag those out if I need them a really really great tool very easy to use and

there are apps as well so I often find that I've only got my phone on me and I

really need to quickly do a social media post for my Facebook page I can do that

really easily using canva the other one that I do use and I do love is Adobe

spark now I am an Adobe user so this is partly why I do like this but I can

create a new Facebook post or when you post I can come in here and say I want

to start from scratch again goes through its little creation process but again it

will let me choose from Twitter style of his Facebook size of Instagram, squares

as you know whatever you feel like doing I can go into social profile I can

create a new event cover all of these features are their sizes get updated

nice and easily so all of these tools that have canva spark unsplash they're

all great for helping you achieve that final outcome which is that great

community and finally we head over into Facebook itself it's taking us a little

bit to get here today so when you go to your Facebook page I am logged in as an

admin here now a really very important tip particularly for those of you out

there in the tiny community space if you're the only person in your

organization please don't be the only admin of your Facebook page really

important that you you know pull in someone to help I'm the backup admin for

about ten different pages purely so that if anything happens to your account and

I think you know you're not going to get locked out of your first full page

you'll still then be able to share messages with your community and you're

not sort of going to get you know lost in that sense so go into your settings

very quickly one day go into paid roles and just you know find someone else who

is willing to be an admin with you so that um yeah you're not stuck there on

your sofa take you on a very quick little tour of the page just want to

encourage you to try some of the things out so when you go to write a post is

your page now notice a little symbol here it's the same as my little logo up

here this means I'm acting as a AMK I'm not acting as Ann-Maree we're two very

distinct people but what you can do is you can swap so when I go to a post and

this is one that I put up earlier today just to be a bit silly I did a little

poll which was you know if I gave you an unlimited budget to buy a new laptop

which would you choose tell me why in the comments so I've got

some elements here I've asked a question I've encouraged some feedback so I've

encouraged people to you know actually respond to me and this is a great new

feature that Facebook have added which is the ability to use pictures and gifs

in your polls so you can actually get feedback from people really really

quickly and what you can do here so if we come

up to the post up here these are some of the things that Facebook are letting you

do now when you post so remember how I said you know don't don't just write

text well we've got the writer post we've also got the ability to add photo

and video we can do a check-in we can write notes tag products we can

advertise we can get messages there's all these different things that we can

do we can create offers there was that poll option we can start a QA okay so

that's an interesting one we can go into the QA can introduce ourselves we can

create events we can get calls we do directions think about mixing this up

use some of these different features you know what have we got here probably 16

16 different options there's again there are 16 different potential posts

multiply those 16 different posts by all those topic areas that we had your topic

Bank is getting bigger and bigger and bigger and you're not having to think so

hard about what it is you're going to post so if I go into the poll okay you

know let me do this one say hello you think I've confused it it's gonna

click out of there very good at confusing it will click on my little

very random that's alright I've got my little one there that's why

I always pre prepare these things I updated my cover photo now again that's

a really good thing to do regularly if we have a look up here okay so I've

thrown in a little bit of a description about what I do just on my cover page

there that was created in canva in a couple of minutes so that was really

nice and that wasn't too hard

another thing to think about is groups so Facebook actually

letting you create groups attached to your Facebook page now there's multiple

benefits of this so I've got a group here which is social media for small

business so this was for a training run that a colleague and I did we actually

created that group so that there was a bit of a safe space for people to ask

questions and provide feedback and really keep each other in touch with

what they were doing you can also create multiple groups within so if you have

multiple little areas you might have a reading group that meets at your

community organization you could create a little side Facebook group for that

the advantages are that it is a bit of a safe space you tend to get much

higher interaction in your group so if that's what you're looking for then

groups are a fantastic way to go about that we can help you go through that

process as well if that's something that you think you might be interested in I'm

highly recommend using groups you can also set up services so think about your

Facebook page as a source of information for your community you can actually show

them what services you're providing takes a little bit of the confusion out

of it so you can go into the add a service pop a little picture in what the

name is if there's a price attached to it and a description you can do that for

all the services that you're that you add and again people who had come to

your Facebook page they're going to see that because it'll actually be shown

quite high up on the page and you're cutting down a little bit on your admin

time there because you're not getting you know repeated questions about about

what it is you're doing if I jump into the settings for a tick

sort of going to chat for about another five minutes or so there's a whole range

of settings here that you know you may or may not have ever looked at before

messaging and this is I briefly touched on this earlier this is great because

what you can do with messaging is help people start a conversation

you've got your little responsive sistent here so send instant replies to

anyone now if I turn that on here actually giving me a message I can

change that message to be you know something a little bit more personalized

I can save that just means that people know that I'm checking messenger and

that I'll get to the one I can you can be a little bit specific there in saying

we answer messages between the hours of you know give them some very specific

times if your situation is urgent maybe here's a number you can call or here is

another resource that you can use think about how you can use that for your

community so they feel like they can use that particular tool to communicate and

I think this is becoming a lot of people's preferred method of

communication people like that they can just shoot off a quick message and get

some you know real-time responses and real-time feedback so you can do that

you can show how long you usually respond you can stay responsive you know

know that your response in and you can even have little messenger greeting and

so when they click on that message me button you can actually turn all of the

these on or off depending on what you think is um you know the best thing for

your organization other things that you can do that are going to be great for

your community is think about using video you know video is a really scary

one but the interaction on video is really really high so if you're doing

something really fun at your organization or at your community or if

you've got a really important message but you sort of think oh I could type

this up and maybe you do maybe you do that as a blog post then think about

getting over that fear of being in front of the camera and maybe going live with

a live video now you can go lives from your computer you can go and that

just uses your webcam you can also do screen sharing as well it becomes a

little bit more like a conferencing tool and it's really easy to go live from

your phone or your tablet as well and you know you could use your blog post as

you know the video but think about putting that up as well as people can

interact with you you can encourage them to ask questions while you're going live

and you know you can can set it up so that you can see what those questions

are or you can even enroll a buddy to to answer those questions so again you know

the type of organization that you are will guide this and you know

neighborhood centers in particular if you know I know in the Blue Mountains

here it's freezing cold in the middle of winter people are not necessarily so

keen to run up and go to an information session to find out about something but

if you can provide that information session to live you know to people in

person but then you can also be providing it to them sitting in their

jammies at home in front of the fire then you're going to reach a lot more

people and if that's the platform people feel comfortable using and it's a

platform that they're spending that time in I think it's a route against the bit

of a win-win situation for everyone there so they're just a few of the ideas

that hopefully you can start to implement just go to my powerpoint page

there and we don't have any questions you guys are being very very very quiet

today but hopefully you have got some great advice out of today's webinar

I have loved presenting it to you it has been a lot of fun I do encourage you to

go across and like both the AMK Training and Consulting page and the Leep NGO page as

well that's you can stay in touch with what training

NATIVE AMERICAN CREATION STORY; PIT TRIBES - Duration: 5:53.

hi it's tai bug and let me just rewind a bit so I've been feeling really

nostalgic this past couple of weeks and I was looking around on the internet and

on YouTube for some of the stories I used to hear growing up and I was really

sad to find out that they weren't on the internet really like you could find

stories about Goldilocks and all that but those are different types of stories

and the ones I grew up I'm Native American

I'm Apache and Cherokee and my godparents are in Navajo so I grew up

with a lot of those types of stories and like I was just really disappointed to

find that the stories I grew up with weren't online they weren't being told a

lot so I searched around my house and I found the book I grew up listening to

stories about these were my bedtime stories they are called

the telling of the world they're edited by WS pen all ish stories told by a

different person and he come compiled them all and like added art and all that

and just seeing this book almost brought me to tears because I thought we gave it

away and I just haven't heard them with such a long time I'm getting choked up a

little bit so I'm gonna tell you one of the first stories I was told from this

book and it's the creation of the world it's by the

River tribe sizes are the pit tribes and it's about coyote and Silver Fox and how

they created the world

so I'm not gonna read it word for word because I really encourage you guys to

get this book this book it's just such a perfect book and there's like a lot of

dialogue in here that doesn't really pertain to the story because it's kind

of like told between these two people so the story is told by Jaime de Angelo

sorry if I butchered that and I guess I'll get right into it it seems like

there was nothing everywhere but a kind of fog fog and water mixed they say no

land anywhere this here silver fox was wandering and feeling lonely he was

feeling lonely the silver fox I wish I would meet someone he said to himself

the silver fox did he was walking along the fog and he met coyote I thought I

was going to meet someone he said the coyote looked at him but didn't say

anything where are you travelling says Fox but where are you traveling why do

you travel like that because I am worried I am also wandering so the

coyote I am also worrying and travelling I

thought I would meet someone I thought I wouldn't meet someone lets you and I

travel together it's better for two people to be traveling together that's

what they always say well this coyote she says

what are we going to do now what do you think says Fox

I don't know says coyote well then says Fox I'll tell you let's make the world

how are we going to do that we will sing says the box so there they were singing

up there in the sky they were singing and stomping and dancing around each

other in a circle then the books he thought in his mind Columbus saw it come

that's why he made it come by thinking pretty soon he had it in his hand and he

was singing all the while he had it they were both singing and stomping all of a

sudden the Fox through the clump asad he threw it down into the clouds

don't look down he said to coyote keep on singing shut your eyes keep them shut

until I tell you so so they kept on see hands stomping around each other in

their circle for quite a while then the Fox sets coyote now look down there what

do you see I see something I see something but I don't know what it is

alright shut your eyes again now they started singing and stopping again and

Fox thought and wished stretch stretch now look down again what do you see oh

it's getting bigger show your eyes again don't look down

and they went on singing and stomping up there in the sky now look down again oh

no it's big enough so the coyote that's the way they made

the world they both choked down on it and they

stretched it some more then they Mane mountains and valleys they made trees

and rocks and everything took them a long time to do all that and that's the

very first story I'll tell you guys from this book

you guys want I'll make a series because there are so many good stories in this

book this is just one of the creation stories this one is specifically from

the pit trap but each tribe has their own variation of creation stories I just

I think that's so fascinating I'm infatuated with just everyone's

different ways of seeing the world and like it's just so interesting I hope you

guys enjoyed this if you want more just let me know because I'm so eager to tell

you guys more and I guess that's all I have for you guys today see you guys

later bye you

you

BookTubeAThon 2018 | Day One! - Duration: 5:23.

It is the first day of BookTubeAThon and already I'm three books into the

challenge. I read the first two right as the BookTubeAThon started. It is 12

minutes past midnight and I've just finished reading my first two books

for BookTubeAThon. And now I'm gonna go sleep. The first book I read was The Journey by Francesca Sanna. This is a

children's book about the journey of refugees. The author spoke to many

refugees and immigrants about their journeys and their stories and from all

of that she created this story for kids and I thought it was really great. And

I'm gonna give it a 4 out of 5 stars. The next book I read was Marcel by Edna

Akaltun, this book is about a little puppy in New York City who doesn't like

change. I am giving it 3 out of 5 stars. Then today I read Return to Labyrinth.

The fourth and final book in this Tokyopop series. At times this felt like

bad fanfiction or maybe even like mediocre, like, kind of okay fanfiction.

Same with the art, it was kind of like, kind of okay fan art. It didn't feel like

what actually happens after the film and I know that this is just one creative's

idea and interpretation. And it's not like necessarily 'canon,' but it is

official. It's, you know, Jim Henson Company gave permission for this to

exist so they must have liked it enough. Um, I don't know. It had a really cute ending. I

liked the ending, I liked the message at the end. And yeah, a lot of the familiar

characters were in it. But a lot of the times when they were around, it felt

almost as if they were saying lines similar to the movie to try

and get you to make that association again. And it just it it felt a little

forced. I was just disappointed, I wanted to be amazing and I don't think it was

amazing. But it wasn't terrible. However if you do want to see Labyrinth in comic

form, I recommend this by Arcadia. This is, this

is really good. I really like this. It's a prequel whereas this is a sequel,

continuation. I'm probably gonna give this like, three stars, because I

didn't hate it. It is Labyrinth, it is this world I

like, but you know. So far I have completed four of the seven challenges

and three of the seven books. Coin toss, beautiful spine, book to movie adaptation,

the color green. This has been, it's been so chill. In fact I think the most stressful

part of this BookTubeAThon is going to be these videos, not the actual reading.

So... And in fact I've also read a chapter of The Magician's Land because I'm in

the middle of this series and it's not a part of my BookTubeAThon

TBR. But I'm still gonna read this this week, because I'm really into it. So then next

I did the video challenge, which was to recreate a book cover using everyday

household items in under five minutes. I think it took me two minutes to do it.

But yeah, cut to, cut to that clip.

[music]

So as you can see, I recreated Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut. It

is a pretty simple cover, this, these editions of his books have pretty simple

covers. I think my adorable backpack makes a creepy slash adorable skull, so I

think I did a pretty good job. If you liked what you see here and you would

like to support me I have a Patreon. You can you become a Patreon, it's fun. Or you

can subscribe. I hit three thousand and then I, and then I lost like ten. So I got

to feel that for like a day or two. Subscribe to help me feel that again.

Happy reading! Meow

TOP 3 Foods That INCREASE Anxiety & Depression - Duration: 1:34.

Top three foods that increase anxiety & depression.

Intro.

Number 3 Processed Foods.

Gut health is essential for maintaining mental health and well being.

Studies show that your stomach can act as a second brain.

Refined flours, additives and preservatives feed the bad bacteria in your gut and can

contribute to chronic anxiety and many mood disorders.

Number 2, Artifical & Refined Sugars.

Sugar creates changes in the body that can worsen anxiety symptoms and impair the body's

ability to effectively cope with stress.

A sugar crash can also cause mood changes and increase the chances of panic attacks

and depression.

Number One, Meat.

Dead flesh from animals has a certain amount of fear inlaid inside the energy of the food.

Especially after being slaughtered.

You are what you eat.

PGA golfer's curious behaviour continues with 'classless' finish - Duration: 4:05.

The 24-year-old is being criticised for blowing off the winner of the Porsche European Open, Richard McEvoy, after shooting a disastrous six-over 78 in the final round

It was just one incident in a series of recent controversies that have engulfed DeChambeau

DeChambeau finished in a tie for 13th place after entering Sunday's final round with a share of the lead

He exchanged only a brief handshake before blowing by McEvoy, his playing partner, in what is being described by one player as a "classless" act

"Has to be said, as far as classless handshakes go, that was a good'n!" Eddie Pepperell, who finished sixth at the British Open, wrote on Twitter

DeChambeau had been leading late in the final round, but his game started to crumble with five holes left

He shot five-over in those holes, including a triple bogey on 18. He later apologised to McEvoy, who sank a 20-footer on 18 to win the event, in an Instagram post

"I apologise to Richard McEvoy and the fans for my brevity on 18," DeChambeau wrote

"He is a class act, worthy champion and I enjoyed playing with him the past two days

" DeChambeau, who majored in physics at SMU and wears a Ben Hogan-style cap, has become known for a quirky swing, specially fitted equipment and bizarre analytical methods

He was caught on camera during the British Open having a meltdown at a Carnoustie driving range

He was told at the Travelers Championship by PGA Tour officials that his use of a drawing compass was illegal

DeChambeau said that the device helped him figure out "true pin locations." DeChambeau finished in a tie for 51st place at the British Open

He won the Memorial Tournament in a playoff earlier this year for his second PGA Tour victory
