ROYAL BLUE - Episode 2 "Dylan & David" - Duration: 8:31.Schalke 04, there have been a lot of changes in that line up
and now they've decided to come in,
rebuilding around their franchise player, Upset.
The entire support structure as well, the coaches, the analysts,
everything behind the scenes has changed as well.
I want an aggressive support alongside him,
I want Worlds Ignar, not LCK Ignar.
We've already seen 2 rookies step up on the LEC stage today and show up.
And the next one is going to be Abbedagge, and we're going to see what he can do today.
I think we will really surprise people this split.
If we can work through our vision of how to play the game
and make sure everyone's on the same page from minute 1 until the Nexus falls,
like what we want to to and our approach to playing.
I think the ceiling on this roster is incredibly, incredibly high.
Dylan: I think they pick it mid. Yeah see, look.
Memento: We can play it ourselves I think, if they don't pick it.
Dylan: We can just pick Urgot and trade.
Basically as long as they ban 3 champions then we get one for sure.
So I think every org, they have different titles,
they have different responsibilities for how their coaching staff works.
But, since I was a head coach before
Dylan is pretty loose on restricting me or
pigeonholing me in to it.
So whenever I see I can be of value, or where I can use my experience
or make sure the team is performing better I kinda step in.
We work together pretty well on keeping a balance.
I think we were quite out-drafted. I think we played really well,
we got a large lead and we would win in a normal case.
There's no way this was good, I think we were giga-out-drafted.
Obviously we can win this game, I'm just saying
I would not want to play this game on stage.
I think it was apparent really fast that we would be a contender to be one of the top teams
I think it was just the sort of thing where, everybody from minute one
of this team has realised that we have the potential to
not just be like, a good team,
which I think a lot of people peg us as, as a good team.
We have the potential to be a great team,
and a true Worlds or Championship contender.
Memento: You must be really insecure if you think this matters for your status.
Don't put this camera man, don't put this!
You can't do this,
This is inappropriate, this is a workplace.
Memento: David, do you want to change places? I want to see his draft.
David: I thought you had the draft in your head, no?
No.
David: Sit here bro! There's so much space bro!
You want to lie down? You can lie down right here too if you want.
Nah I'm good fam.
I can't read my own writing...
This is really sad, I made all these notes
and I actually just...
This is really illegible.
My... ur... enemy didn't pressure...
Only...
Dylan: Only?
Only Baron if enemy didn't pressure at all.
Dylan: No, it wasn't Baron related. The next one is Baron.
(laughing) Only Baron if they don't pressure at all...
Dylan: No, it's definitely not that!
Only ARAM?
No no no, I remember what it was.
Was it ARAM?
No.
So this is going to be an exciting game,
I'm excited for this one: Schalke vs Vitality
We're now in to game. More League of Legends action coming right up.
Amazing: Abbedagge, how do you feel after your first game?
That sucks.
Going in to week 1, we were probably a lot more confident than
a lot of people put us on their power rankings.
I think we definitely have a lot of work to do
as far as how to play with each other and coordinate it.
Like, I don't think we're there yet.
I think it's the sort of thing where,
If we prepare correctly we will 2-0 every week.
If we do not, we will drop a game here or there
where we try to work out some of the difficulties.
We were actually quite confident, yeah.
Odoamne: Nah, we're just getting murdered.
Abbedagge: Can you lantern?
Ignar: I don't have lantern...
Dylan: Damn...
We got stomped.
Unfortunate.
We just fell behind early and then they just snowballed on us
and it was really hard to come back.
I'm looking forward to playing against Fnatic and SK because
I think they're pretty good and it's going to be a challenge.
Dyaln: Wait, he's dead?
Memento: I hope he rage ulties, you know?
David: Oh my! That's not a rage ulti, not when you have Kobe Bryant.
Upset: Kobe!
That was a 3 point dunk baby.
Dylan: What is this?
Ignar: Fans gave me. Dylan: What?!
Odoamne: The typical Korean fans.
Oh my god! What?!
"Ignar best sup" it says on it.
It's not a cake is it? It just a...
Memento: It's Blitzcrank! Oh my god...
I'm very excited to see how this game plays out
as it's SK gaming taking on Schalke,
this is early bragging rights for best German organisation her in the LEC.
Vedius: Going to throw that one down, alright! Quickshot: I am indeed!
It levels up the stakes a little.
Please listen to each other ok?
There's always so much good information in the comms.
I want us to focus on listening
and just being aware of what enemy jungle is doing.
If we just play normal, play through our winning lanes,
ah, we'll be fine.
One, two, three: SCHALKE!
We have a clear vision at every stage of the game of how we want to play.
I want this team, especially players like Abbe
to have no fear in those clutch situations.
But I want to see this from all of our players as well.

Vladimir Putin Honors Patriarch Kirill in the Kremlin - Duration: 9:57.Your Holiness, primates and representatives of local Orthodox churches, priests, ladies and gentlemen,
I am glad to welcome all of you in the heart of Russia, in the Moscow Kremlin, with its holy shrines that mean a lot to every Orthodox believer.
Today's gathering is dedicated to a special date. At the end of January 2009, the Local Council of the Russian Orthodox Church met to elect a new primate – Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.
I would like to warmly and sincerely congratulate His Holiness on the 10th anniversary of his enthronement.
In December 2017, we came together to celebrate the centenary of the restoration of the patriarchate in our country and recognised the decisive role played by the primates of the Russian Orthodox Church in many respects in the destiny of the Fatherland, the greatness of their devotion and service to our people.
Like his outstanding predecessors, Patriarch Kirill carries out his archpastoral mission with honour. Abiding by the Christian commandments, he seeks to help people find their way to the church, to bolster their faith, and to support them in word and deed.
His wisdom and honesty, his openness and generosity have earned him respect and trust both in Russia and far beyond its borders.
His Holiness and Orthodox hierarchs, together with representatives of other traditional religions, are making a significant contribution to strengthening social harmony, helping resolve profoundly important, sometimes very sensitive issues that people are concerned and worry about.
I know how much has been done in recent years to expand the Church's social services; the enormous, tireless work in this area the churches are doing, bringing in volunteers, benefactors, and all those who seeks to selflessly help other people.
This work is invaluable; it cannot be measured by statistics, but still, allow me to cite a few figures.
In 2009, there was only one church shelter in Russia for women with children who ended up in difficult life situations. Last year their number grew to 58. More than 100 new humanitarian aid centres have opened. Nursing care and social rehabilitation services are developing.
The Russian Orthodox Church is always found where people are experiencing difficulties; it is always with people who are in trouble.
That was the case in the summer of 2010, when Russia was confronted with the elements, when fires raged across many regions of our country; that was the case in Krymsk and in cities and villages of the Far East affected by floods.
Today, the Russian Orthodox Church coordinates and contributes to over 6,500 social projects, thereby significantly strengthening the efforts of the state and society in this area.
I would like to offer special thanks to Patriarch Kirill and the Church for the spiritual guidance of the Russian army.
Your sincere, heartfelt words help the soldiers and officers to defend their homeland with honour, instil in them confidence in their military prowess and moral righteousness.
The educational activities of the ROC deserve great respect, as do the restoration of old churches and the building of new ones.
Patriarch Kirill and I recently attended the ceremony to consecrate the foundation of one of them – a majestic cathedral commemorating the soldiers of the Great Patriotic War, named the Resurrection of Christ.
The noble devotion of the Russian Orthodox Church extends over its entire canonical territory.
And we are grateful to His Holiness for his constant attention to our compatriots and the support of foreign communities, for his tireless work to build trust between countries and peoples, to expand humanitarian contacts.
I must emphasise that such honest, impeccable service that Patriarch Kirill demonstrates is an example of true love for the Fatherland and for our people,
and the successes achieved in this field lay the foundation for the development of the Church for decades to come.
Your Holiness, Dear participants of the solemn meeting,
Today, as for many centuries, the high purpose of the Russian Orthodox Church is extremely in demand.
I emphasize that the state will continue to actively develop a constructive partnership with the Church in all significant areas, primarily in the education of the young generation, in preserving cultural wealth, in solving pressing social problems.
Today, Russia faces large-scale challenges and ambitious goals, without exaggerating historical tasks in demography, in social development, in improving the quality of life of people, in working to achieve a breakthrough in economics, science, and technology.
But we understand well: in order to achieve new frontiers, it is important for us to preserve our identity, our unity and solidarity.
And they are built on those values that have been honored at all times by Orthodoxy and other traditional religions of Russia: this is mercy, honesty and justice, this is caring for your neighbor and family, respect for parents and children and, of course, love for the Motherland.
Oblivion of these values is fraught with the most destructive consequences, depersonalization and degradation of a person, so that he can become a victim of the most vile and base manipulations.
I repeat: the common duty of co-working, the responsibility of the state, the Church, religious leaders, and society is to preserve and strengthen our spiritual, moral, value basis, transfer it to the youth, future generations, so as not to lose ourselves in an era of turbulent global changes.
And of course, we hope that the Russian Orthodox Church will continue to remain an effective peacemaking force, as before, to strengthen friendship and good-neighborliness, to support our compatriots and people of Orthodox culture.
Historical interchurch ties historically united, brought people together, and served to develop equal relations between Russia and many foreign countries.
But, unfortunately, we see other examples where speculation, politicking, parasitizing on questions of religious life lead to the separation of people, provoke anger and intolerance.
It is such a project that is not related to faith, but a false one, tied up in a struggle for power, is being implemented today in Ukraine.
It is regrettable that the Patriarchate of Constantinople was also involved in it.
In essence, there is a gross interference in the church life.
Its initiators seemed to learn from the godless of the last century, who expelled believers from churches, poisoned and persecuted the clergy.
I want to emphasize again: the state, the Russian authorities consider any interference in church affairs to be absolutely unacceptable.
We respected and will respect the independence of the church life, especially in the neighboring sovereign country.
Nevertheless...
we reserve the right to react and do everything to protect human rights, including freedom of religion.
And in conclusion I would like to once again congratulate Patriarch Kirill on a significant date - a decade of enthronement.
I wish His Holiness vigor, longevity, new successes in the archpastoral work. May your prayers preserve the Russian Orthodox Church and our Fatherland.
Thank you for your attention.

13 Year Old Pentium E2160 Meets Gaming in 2019 - Duration: 11:59.Hey there everyone!
Time for another video.
I'm taking a look at the Pentium E2160 today.
I have already runs tests on the E2140 and E2180, so performance will be pretty much
in the middle of those two, and other than a difference in core speed (1.8GHz for the
2160 vs 1.6 and 2GHz for the 2140 and 2180 respectively) the specs are exactly the same.
But I'll give you a quick run down of them anyway.
The Pentium E2160 (based on the Allendale architecture, which is basically the conroe
architecture with 2MB of cache physically removed rather than disabled) was introduced
in the third quarter of 2006 and is a dual core processor with no turbo boosting or hyper
threading, for socket 775 motherboards.
It has an 800MHz front side bus and has only 1MB of L2 cache (which is cut down from Allendale's
2MB.)
It also features 167 million transistors built on the 65nm fabrication process and has a
tdp of 65w.
The 2160 is pretty much identical to the Core 2 Duo E4300, with the difference being the
1MB of disabled L2 cache.
It is also highly overclock able, capable of over 3GHz, but as I'll get into later,
I had a fair bit of trouble with this.
Originally, the 2160 was launched at US$84 (retail prices may have varied from this)
which, when adjusting for inflation, is around US$105 today, or around £79 or €92.
Today though, it is obviously obtainable for much less money, I only paid £0.25 for this
one, from CEX here in the UK.
You can also buy it for as little as $3, on Ebay in America.
The rest of the system I'll be using for the test today, features a Foxconn G33m motherboard,
8GB of DDR2 RAM at 800MHz, a MSI GTX 1080 Armor OC edition graphics card, to eliminate
any bottlenecks in performance, Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, and a Phanteks TC14PE to
keep the Pentium cool.
To gauge what sort of multi-core performance the E2160 has to offer, I'm running it through
Cinebench R15 to start with, which is a benchmark that renders a photo-realistic 3d scene using
all of your processor's cores.
The Pentium, at its stock speed of 1.8GHz managed a score of only 79, putting it 10.13%
slower than its less crippled sibling, the Core 2 Duo E4300.
Overclocking wise though, this is where the trouble starts, at least for me anyway.
As the motherboard's lack of an option to set the front side bus:RAM ratio to 1:1, meant
that I was quite limited on how far I could push the cpu.
I did still however, manage a clock of 2.803GHz (1GHz over stock speeds) which put the memory
at 1038MHz.
At this speed, the E2160 could now manage a score of 121.
39.08% faster than the Core 2 Duo E4300 and a massive 53.16% faster than it was before
the overclock.
Next up, it's onto the Physics section of Firestrike which is processor dependent and
a test in which the graphics card doesn't influence the score.
As you can probably imagine, it was a pretty poor showing for the 2160 here, with the score
at stock speeds of only 1405.
And given how big an impact the overclock made to Cinebench, I was expecting another
big improvement here too.
And I was right, as with the 2.803GHz core speed, the E2160 now scored 2301 points, an
increase of 63.77% over stock.
First up it's a personal favourite of mine, Warframe, which had its initial release in
2013 and is available through Steam and through the Warframe website itself.
I'm running this at 1080p, using the lowest settings possible, in a survival mission on
Jupiter.
The fps, at a glance, would actually seem to be quite playable, as it tended to sit
between the high 30s to around 50fps and spiked to 100fps at points, but fps alone doesn't
tell you what the gameplay is actually like.
Throughout the test, there were a number of brief hitches and in the most intense scenes,
with multiple enemies coming at you, the framerate noticeably dipped to the mid 20s.
You'll also notice some hitches on the lander craft and fps below 25 on the planet selection
screen.
Despite this though, the game is actually mostly playable.
The benchmark showed average, 1% and 0.1% lows of 39, 21 and 18fps respectively, with
several spikes in frame times throughout the test of around 60-80ms with one of around
240ms.
As I said though, the game is still mostly playable despite this.
Next up, is the ever popular, Grand Theft Auto 5, which had its much anticipated PC
release in 2015 after being a console exclusive for quite a while.
I'm also running this at 1080p, using the lowest settings possible.
As I was kind of expecting, the game is pretty unplayable on the E2160.
Fps throughout the city could manage no higher than around 15 and dipped into the single
figures as well.
There was severe stuttering throughout the city and there were major problems with input
locking and input lag as well, which were so bad, I couldn't even run my usual benchmark.
Next up, despite how much I despise this game, is CS:GO, which, 6 years on from its initial
release, is still massively popular and has a huge professional scene as well.
This is being run at 1080p on the lowest settings possible and in a hard difficulty, competitive
bot match on the Mirage map.
This is unfortunately also a no go for the 2160 as well.
Fps was in the high 10s to around the 30 frames per second range.
There was some pretty obvious micro-stuttering throughout, which, coupled with the hitches
I noticed as well, made for some pretty difficult combat, which kind of defeats the entire purpose
of the game.
It did however spike up to 45fps at times when indoors, this however doesn't really
make a difference to the rest of the game though.
The benchmark showed average, 1% and 0.1% low framerates of 41, 14 and 10fps respectively,
with several spikes in the frame times of around 60-100ms, with some as around 180-200ms
and one at a massive 800ms.
Lastly before moving onto overclocking for the games, I thought I'd include an older
game for a change, to give the E2160 a chance to show something actually performing OK.
I chose Grand Theft Auto San Andreas for this, as it is regarded as one of the best, if not
THE best Grand Theft Auto game of all time.
I'm running this at 1080p as well and given that the game came out 15 years ago now, I
managed to run it at max settings with anti-aliasing switched off.
As expected, it ran pretty smoothly and showed no noticeable stuttering, locking up or any
other problem to speak of.
Fps was consistently above 50 throughout, and got into the 70s as well, with spikes
of over 100fps indoors.
Overall, the game was completely playable and an enjoyable experience, with the benchmark
showing an average of 70fps, with 1% and 0.1% low framerates of 38 and 26fps respectively,
which along with the frame time graph, which shows spikes in frametiems of around 90-600ms
at points, does show that there was in fact some stutter throughout.
These spikes though, happened so far apart, that they were entirely unnoticeable and had
no effect on playability at all.
As I'd mentioned previously, I had a lot of trouble with overclocking.
The issue was that the motherboard I use, doesn't have an option to set the front side
bus to RAM ratio to 1:1.
Which means locking the speed of the RAM to the speed of the front side bus, which would
allow for overclocks beyond 3GHz.
I also couldn't match the speeds that Cinebench and Firestrike Physics were capable of either,
due to the RAM, but for both GTA V and Warframe, a speed of 2.634GHz was stable, which needed
a front side bus speed of 1170MHz with 2.23v on the memory, which itself was now at 995.6MHz.
CS:GO and GTA San Andreas managed stable speeds of 2.679 and 2.702GHz with front side bus
speeds of 1190 and 1200MHz respectively, which put the RAM at 992 and 1000.8MHz respectively.
With Warframe, the improvement was pretty significant.
Fps was in the low 40s to mid 60s range throughout, and despite some noticeable hitches and micro-stuttering
throughout the test, the game was quite fun and enjoyable to play and was a massive improvement
over what the E2160 managed at stock speeds.
The benchmark showed average, 1% and 0.1% low framerates of 55, 30 and 25fps respectively,
and there were also several spikes in frame times throughout the test of around 40ms,
a couple of around 70-100ms and one of 140ms.
With GTA V, there was also quite a significant improvement in a way.
Unfortunately all that means is that I was at least able to benchmark it this time, as
the game still had its issues.
Fps managed between 19 up to the mid 20s and showed some very brief lockups as well as
micro-stuttering throughout.
The input lag was completely gone, however, there was still some locks up of the inputs
at times, but this didn't make it completely unplayable though.
Despite the issues still present, the game was actually kind of playable, in that you
can still play it, it just won't always be the best of experiences.
The benchmark showed average, 1% and 0.1% lows of 24, 11 and 9fps respectively, with
frame time spikes throughout the test of around 60-160ms, with some as bad as 320ms at the
worst.
There was also a fairly significant improvement as well.
The framerate went up into the 60s and only dropped to the high 30s.
There were also some dips and spikes to the low 30s and around 95fps, but for the most
part, the high 30s to around 60fps is what you'll see.
There were also still some hitches and micro-stuttering throughout, however, combat was fortunately
much easier than it was at stock, not perfect, but a lot better.
The benchmark showed average, 1% and 0.1% low framerates of 53, 28 and 19fps respectively,
and there were multiple spikes in frame times of around 40-80ms, with some as bad as 120-140ms.
Lastly, it's back to GTA San Andreas.
There isn't really any need to overclock with this game, as the performance at stock is
more than adequate.
There was however, still a reasonable improvement over what stock clocks managed.
Fps was now reaching towards 90 frames per second, and even getting towards 150fps inside
of CJ's house.
Much like at stock, there were no noticeable performance issues whatsoever and the game
was still completely playable.
The benchmark showed average, 1% and 0.1% low framerates of 84, 48 and 40fps respectively.
There were however, several spikes in frame times of around 160ms and some of around 440-580ms.
These though, didn't have a noticeable impact on performance due to how spread apart they
are.
Overall, it was a pretty frustrating experience to test the E2160.
Nothing to do with the processor itself, more the fact that the motherboard limited the
overclock pretty heavily.
Saying that though, if you have a motherboard that'll let you set the fsb:RAM ratio to 1:1,
you'll be able to get even better overclocks.
Performance wise, older games such as GTA San Andreas will run perfectly fine on a processor
like this, even at stock clocks.
Warframe and CS:GO also show performance that would be pretty acceptable if you can put
up with the micro-stuttering.
With GTA V, performance would be good enough to play the game, just maybe not enough to
be completely enjoyable to some people.

009 - Bible - Psalms - Psalm 4 - Dr. Steve Sullivan - Duration: 50:31.pray how sweet it is Lord to know that all we have to do is direct our thoughts
towards you and you never slumber or sleep as we would say if you're always
up and you are always sustaining everything in the universe if you didn't
sustain it then we would turn back to nothing and so we're looking to your
Lord as men early on Monday morning asking that you would work in our lives
help us to see our inconsistencies the things that we are not aware of so that
we might walk righteously in a holy in a you know in a society that knows not God
help us be part of the answer instead of the part of the problem help us to see
who we really are so that we might come to you find you would change us no
matter how old we are or how young we are that you would continue to work in
our lives until we go home so we look to your lord help us lord help us this week
to live for you we need you
I'll pray for Lawrence's wives sister Lord who's having strokes and we would
ask God that you might be with her special the doctors and you would uphold
her we thank you for andreas and his constant prayer for his brother
Michael's family and their salvation back in Switzerland and for Daniel and
Pascal their salvation for the father as he's in India doing the project that
he's doing for the hospital their Lord for their relationship father and mother

here but around the globe Lord babies are being snuffed out Oh God have mercy
for we deserve judgment thank you for Dave and for his healing
of his situation and we pray for his wife kandi as she is weakly going to the
jail and and having a Bible study and I'd pray God that you would use it
mightily for your glory we pray for Ruby who's having problems breathing in on a
breathing machine be with Norma's he attends his wife give them grace God we
would pray that you would be with them until the time you take of them home and
yet that's a prayer for every one of us that we would be faithful until you
would take us home or come to get us in the rapture of the church help us Lord
Jesus this day help me Lord this day to proclaim to your men here what you want
said for your glory we pray in Christ's name
amen well I'm always thankful to the Lord when we can make things practical
in your life and especially as we come into Psalms and brother Frank came in
today and says hey I got a testimony about Psalm 4 I said will you share it
and he said yes so Frank would you be kind enough to stand in and share with
us from Psalm 4 please brother great praise the Lord praise the Lord praise
the Lord we want we want that testimony with phrase God a phrase God good well
then so just turn to Psalm 4 as we the subject of our attention here at the
Bible study and let me read Psalm Ford as we would begin for the choir director
on the string instruments a psalm of David answer me when I call o God of my
righteousness you have relieved me in my distress be
gracious to me and hear my prayer old sons of men how long will my honor
become a reproach how long will you love what is worthless and aim at deception
but know that the Lord has set apart of the godly man for himself the Lord hears
when I called to him tremble and do not sin meditate in your heart upon your bed
and be still offer the sacrifices of righteousness and trust in the Lord many
are saying who will show us any good lift up the light of your countenance
upon us O Lord you have put gladness in my heart more than their grain and new
wine abound in peace I will both lie down and sleep for you alone O Lord make
me to dwell in safety beautiful isn't it many think of this Psalm is of the same
context as Psalm 3 where David is a fleeing from Absalom but we cannot
substantiate that that's just a possibility so you can think about that
and I wanted to mention it but I'm not going through the the background as we
did in Psalm 3 because we don't know for sure but wanted to mention that Psalm
for dubbed a song of trust hmm the
inscription of the psalm indicates that david has wrote it and so we would take
this as a Davidic Psalm and a psalm of trust you will notice that's broken up
from the first verse and basically the second verse and following the first
verse is God word and then notice in verse 2 he begins to address the sons of
men so he then addressing mankind in this and he begins I also wanted that
you to know I was rushing through my notes of course read them again it's all
some mistakes so you'll have to tolerate some of them but at least you have some
notes to write on I always change it if I read it again so here we have in verse
one the prayer of deliverance as he is now directing his heart toward God and
first we should we see in this verse we should pray anticipating God God to
answer us now I don't mean by that that he's going to answer you immediately
it's possible like Frank just gave that God can do that but we must not be
thinking that because I have prayed that he's going to answer me immediately he
will answer and he will always be exactly on time for from his new point
may not be our timing often isn't is it but it is right on time according to him
so we must trust him with the time element but we should pray with the
anticipation that he will answer because he will it's either yes or no or wait or
I got something different than you think right so second law we address the God
of righteousness
I would love to launch into the concept of righteousness but if I keep doing
these kinds of things I'll never get through the Psalms but we are going to
talk about that in the latter part of this Psalm so I can just say we are
addressing the God of righteousness who always does what is right throughout
eternity and what we have to be careful with men is that we think well god this
doesn't seem to be right because of this this and this and we are so confined to
this time if we judge God by this time he is very unjust because there's all
kinds of unjustice being done but he tells us to live with the light of
eternity and so therefore if we think of that oh yeah there's a judgment to come
ultimately where every crooked will be made straight and righteousness will be
throughout eternity and thirdly he says come to God to relieve our distress
sometimes I think we will will go everywhere else and finally well I guess
I better go to God when we should have come to me first and fourthly be
gracious o God and hear our prayer it's again the grace of God merit without
favor that he does such a thing doesn't he
God's favor and treatment that is undeserved now that's his mentality
David's mentality as he is writing this song but after he has taught this God
Word viewpoint he begins to stress the second aspect at least the verse 5 and
we could say through the rest of the psalm he
now looking man word at people at unbelievers but yet he will talk to it
in a very interesting way I was pleasantly surprised to find so many
things here and the first he begins by in verse 2 with - how long's how long
will you mankind you sons of men be dishonouring to God and how long will
you mankind be disobedient notice God's glory is turned to reproach in verse 2
those sons of men how long will my honor or my glory be and become a reproach
this could go back again especially from the context of the davidic some when you
attack david in the nation of israel you are just tactic attacking david in the
nation you were attacking God why I chose that nation I chose this king and
so therefore if you are now going against David you're going against me
God says so that reminds us again in Psalm 2 doesn't in verses 5 & 6 across
from the page there then he will speak to them in his anger and he will terrify
them their fury I have installed my king upon zion my holy mountain so he
established Saul and then David and so if you are going against David you have
now confronted God himself in these things so they are not just dishonouring
David now they're dishonouring God and I thought then to myself even though this
is - unbelievers we need to be careful about God's glory don't we we were it's
our lives approach to the glory of God how are we
living and then second of all the second half of the verse dealing with
disobedience when he says how long will you love what is worthless and aim at
deception I was he begins to sinner in on two aspects of disobedience doesn't
he that we would learn we would love what is worthless
that's an interesting phrase now how many people really say why does love
worthlessness they don't but they do it anyway right
they then place something upon that that is really not what God wants us to be
and so that which they are pursuing becomes from God's viewpoint worthless
it reminds me of the book of Ecclesiastes right how many people have
shut the book of cleese yesyes thinking they're going to read it when they come
to the second verse vanity vanity all is vanity they go I mean I got plenty of
that I want to skip that book but that's what he's speaking about why do you love
vanity why do you worry of what is worthless no notice it's from a
god-centered viewpoint man doesn't think it's worthless at the moment sometimes
we are fooled are we not but the psalmist David is telling us what how
God sees it and should we not see it that way and then deception they use
deception as their method and how easy to fall into that trap man isn't it as
you're in business and this and the other to deceive somebody both passively
and actively that means it's by not mentioning something can be deceptive
can it be besides actively saying to be deceptive so be careful would you
yeah Mike
well there is no and sometimes the Psalms don't don't use connective
particles that you can see whether this that together so I would say that if if
you love what is worthless you will end up in deception I agree with that but
you could just be deceptive without doing something with you know ultimately
as you will know it spirals doesn't it and I think he he brings it I was also
impressed by you by have him using the word love very rarely do you see that in
the Old Testament about loving anything per se I mean I think you can get it
there I mean there's place especially in Deuteronomy when it bitter really begins
to talk about it the word love but I was that really came out to me and notice
it's in a negative way not in a positive way than we would love God but we were
loving worthless things yeah Steve good see buddy
you know he's clearly David is clearly saying God how long are you gonna those
people that are in deception its people yes I would say there's deception
doesn't apply to Christ well I hope I've picked up to question the New Testament
uses parables according to Matthew 12 because he wants to to hide certain
thing from people who don't know and he wants to let people know what he wants
to do it's interesting he was doing that here David is just describing the kind
of people and you will notice and I hand got to it yet in this in this Psalm yet
he's going to give the gospel so he's basically doing what we do is saying hey
these people are sinners and this is what we need to do is to lead them to to
the God of heaven in this Psalm and this was a shocker to me when I found this
out I mean as I studied it so he's doing it to demonstrate a person's a sinner
because you don't if you don't know you're sinner you don't want to want a
Savior and in that context that's what he's doing in in the psalm for sure
great great perception there Steve thank you alright so
beware of the tools of the enemy reproach love worthless things and
deception let us not be a part of that as believers okay and then he admonishes
by the beloved person is set apart to God in verse three but know that the
Lord has set apart the godly man for himself
now the word set apart is the word where we get in the new New Testament theology
is sanctification being set apart to God so here is an Old Testament
sanctification if you want to part it not in its fullness we would have to do
a biblical theology of the Old Testament and we don't have time to do that but we
do see here that we that the Old Testament person was set apart to God
but no the Lord has set apart the godly man for himself the Lord hears when he
calls now the word godly man is an interesting
he comes from the Hebrew word pest Hassid which is the adjective form of
the Hebrew now that you may know as Esav remember loving-kindness so it could be
translated beloved one or faithful one or godly one Ross and his commentator
says one who has entered into covenant with the Lord by divine love and one who
has received and also practices this loyal love of this covenant that he's
involved with now here we see the Old Testament sanctification and so since he
is bringing this up I want to quickly summarize
the sanctification in the New Testament okay because since we're a New Testament
believers I have to constantly do that because I now applying that we're not
Old Testament believers yet we can learn a lot from the Old Testament but we need
to make sure we transition so let me give you a chart that I've given in your
notes and in the New Testament in theology there are four aspects of
sanctification and I put it all in peas yeah that's my preacher coming out in me
the first is pretory sanctification or you may have know it by efficacious
grace that is that moving of the Spirit that he draws a person to faith in Jesus
Christ so that is preparatory sanctification and the moment that
someone places their trust in Jesus Christ he has what is called positional
sanctification that it because he's now placed in Jesus Christ he is just as
holy as Jesus is holy in the sense of his position not in our practice but one
day we will have our position our practice what our position is that is
his guarantee to us but not on this earth and so therefore we have a
positional sanctification that's why Paul in first Corinthians a to the
Corinthians in first Corinthians chapter 1 you have been sanctified then you go
woo Corinthians I don't think so but it is a positional position you wonder why
God can still deal with you but even when you could continue to sin or sin on
the same sin over and over and over again it's because of your position in
Jesus Christ you're 100% positioned in him and then
we have the third one which is the progressive
sanctification which is the process of your entire Christian life and so I like
it into this and we go up and down but hopefully we have a projectory of going
up let's don't be bottom feeders down there on the bottom okay and then
finally when the rapture or when we go home to glory we immediately have what
is called prospective sanctification which is glorification right that
ultimately takes place at the resurrection but our soul and spirit is
glorified and then finally at the resurrection we will have body soul and
spirit and so that's the full concept of the New Testament on sanctification yes
done yes that's correct so when you have this the status of
Christ's righteousness imputed to us then we have the standing of what
progress that is now of course it's a period of time but you're in now the
state of sanctification of a hundred percent positionally sanctified in
Christ yes that's justification is not the position
it's the status but at the same time you get the position yes yes all right now
in verse three then in the latter part god hears when i call to him in that
wonderful you can have the confidence that God hears us but we need to know
what hinders our prayers being answered as well that God hears I want to show
you both in the old as well as the new testament so hold your place here and
turn to psalm 66 because when I came to this immediately my my
thoughts went to psalm 66 verse 18 I remember reading it many years ago and
it jumped out of the page for me psalm 66:18 if I regard wickedness in my heart
the Lord will not hear and it's not that God doesn't hear but that word here
often has the idea of hearing and doing something and so therefore you your
prayers are hindered if you are not if you're not if you're living in sin
wickedness and then from a New Testament if you point over there in John chapter
9 we could turn to many places but John chapter 9 verse 31 it says we know that
God does not hear sinner's but if anyone is god-fearing and does his will he what
he hears him so both old and new Testament situations on that Psalm 34
verse 15
the eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous and his ears are open to their
cry in that great we could have fun on this but let's turn to first John 1:9 I
guess many of you can get already tell me don't even have to turn because
sometimes I don't know about you this is a meat-and-potatoes of sanctification
if you confess your sins he is faithful and righteous to forgive your sins and
to cleanse us from all unrighteousness
and then while you're there in first John turn to chapter five I'm doing this
because there is often misunderstandings of God in prayer and I want to make sure
at least that we have these on the books here and have stated them first John 5
verse 14 and this is the confidence that we have before him that if we ask
anything according to his will he hears us and if we know that he hears us in
whatever we ask we know that we have the requests which we've asked from him
again notice that the here meaning that he's going to act in a certain way so
the Lord hears us and that's what he is saying in verse 3 in the latter part but
the Lord hears what I call to him now notice the cause and effect of verse 3
the first half with the latter half know that the Lord has set apart the godly
man himself and then what why he's gonna hear me
all that now as we turned to verses 4 & 5 I was pleasantly surprised and did not
think of it until I studied this that here we have an Old Testament gospel
presentation have you ever had anybody say that to you here's an Old Testament
presentation a plan to plea to sinners I call it because he's saying in verse 4
tremble and he means tremble with fear okay be caught in the Restless motion
tremble with emotion for terror why if you don't do something about your
ungodliness you're gonna get eternal judgement we could translate this
tremble with fear that you will not sin
and then he goes to meditation meditating your heart upon your bed and
be still and I think the word meditate really is just the Hebrew word for say
and they're using it for meditation because if you're speaking to yourself
on your bed you are meditating in some degree okay and trembling over sin
should be part of your thoughts because who is he addressing we can get benefit
from this address but who is he addressing well verse 2 right o sons of
men so you need to be meditating on your bed and trembling over sin that should
be part of your thoughts when you lie down and sleep and you should be silent
and still consider your sin because you may not wake up in the
morning so he is pleading then with sinners about their sin tremble speak to
yourself on your bed because of the the sin that's is involved here and then it
says the conviction of sin in the Old Testament has one remedy and that is a
righteous sacrifice so notice offer the sacrifice of righteousness
that's the only thing the Old Testament saying could do
I mean person could do if he was now I wants to be a believer you're now going
to the righteous God I've got to get rid of my sin the only outward aspect of
what an Old Testament person could do was offer a righteous sacrifice which
would be a sin offering for his sin in that something so he's he's taking him
through I think an Old Testament gospel now hold your place here and I want you
to see this concept that I'm speaking about in Paul in Romans 3 when I when I
was teaching Romans I had to stop and spend a great deal of time because it
becomes very sluggish in under in teaching in chapter 3 because there's so
much theology that Paul is bringing forth and in Romans chapter 3 verse 24
he's right in the middle of it being justified as a gift can an Old Testament
Saint be justified and abraham believed God and it was what he was justified he
was he he was impeded righteousness so yes the Old Testament Saints can be
justified and so here we see being justified as a
gift or without a cause by His grace it always is isn't it through the
redemption which is in Christ Jesus well they didn't have the redemption in
the old testament but that's what the sacrifices were pointing to right
pointing to that one time when the Lamb of God would come to take away that sin
okay verse 25 whom God displayed publicly as
a propitiation so Jesus Christ the just will justify us and he would propitiated
he would satisfy the wrath of God and sin against us by having Christ receive
it instead of us there's that substitution in his blood through faith
not works this and this is where we come in to what I'm about to want to talk
about this was to demonstrate that God is righteous his attribute of
righteousness because in the forbearance of God he passed over sins previously
committed what previously committed sins is he talking about
the Old Testament I always say the Old Testament st. was was justified by the
credit card okay the animal was the credit cards you
know he puts it down and then the end of the bill that was given was given to
Jesus Christ when he came in the fullness of time he took care of the
bill all right and so the the credit card is just saying it's going to be
taken care of they're trusting the person that at the end of the month when
you send the bill that it will be paid for and Jesus was the one who could pay
the bill so previously he said he overlooked that knowing he could justify
these Old Testament Saints because he his plan and there was going to do it
when Christ came and so now a Paul looks at that from the viewpoint of the New
Testament it demonstrates his righteousness is attribute God's at the
feet of righteousness because in the forbearance of God he passed over the
sins previously committed for the demonstration I say of his righteousness
at the present time in the New Testament that he might be just and the justifier
of the one who puts his faith in Jesus so I wanted to catch us up all right
okay so the conviction here we see that David is giving this I believe Old
Testament gospel he's saying now you need to bring forth a sacrifice of
righteousness who points to the righteous one who will take care of
their sins and then the conviction of sin by God's grace leads to trust right
you've must trust in him so notice what the text says in the verse 5 and trust
in the Lord I was so excited there's an Old Testament gospel right here in the
text in Romans 10:9 and 10 says that you must believe right you must trust in God
so you might want to put a little note there Old Testament gospel presentation
I was thrilled to see it
yes that's Yahweh yeah yes in verse 605 yes the same thing
Yahweh that's the Tetragrammaton he has a whole bunch in the earth you'll notice
the Lord there's all y'all Yahweh in this Psalm
so those who doubt need to trust the presence of God in verse six many are
saying who will show us any good I mean isn't it he's coming back to the the
prayer of the of the situation and how easy to think what God you're not gonna
answer me who can show me any good oh I see the bad God's not gonna answer my
prayer yeah I've never been there right yeah I hope you I mean I hope you
haven't but I'm sure you have so the lingering question of doubt what is what
is the good where as God's divine favor and he wants us not to concentrate on
the circumstances but to concentrate on the presence of God his countenance so
many will say who will show us any good lift up the light of your countenance
upon us Oh Lord don't look about the doom and gloom of your circumstances but
the countenance of God and you can have fun with number six but I'm not going to
turn to it but we can quickly turn to Psalm 34 verse eight
or it says o taste and see that the Lord is good how blessed is the man who takes
refuge in him so if you taste and see that the Lord is good you're taking
refuge in him so what is good where is the favor of God it's there just don't
don't concentrate on your circumstances but concentrate on the presence of God
pray as David says that we would sense his presence and pleasure in the
troubles of life his face shining on us is His grace his favor
it may not be immediate deliverance but it means we have his sustaining grace to
live now why do we say this because when we feel that God is not with us when we
feel that there's no good when we feel all these circumstances it's so easy to
when they're yelling at you to give them attention isn't it and that's why we
have to go to the word and it reminds us lift up your eyes to the countenance of
God to the presence of God to be reminded again of who he is I don't know
a man I'm definitely in it for sure that when trouble comes it's so easy to
concentrate on the trouble and set upon the God who in his time will lead us
through it and answer so verse 7 we see trust in God who gives joy you have put
your gladness or joy in my heart more than the
our grain and new or new wine and the bound now we don't understand this
unless you're a country boy but during harvest time being an agricultural
society if you didn't get grain into the harvest you would probably starve to
death you're through because you would use the
grain to make your food for your bread and everything but also you would use
the extra to sell to be able to buy meat in vegetables or whatever other things
that you would have and so when harvest came and the harvest came in it's money
in the bank are you with me and so would there be parties and
everybody dancing and rejoicing and hopefully in God well sure there would
be so that's where he now uses the illustration we ought to be happier than
the time of the harvest when God would visit us and give us gladness of heart
in the midst of the gloom of the situation and so therefore the
difference between joy and happiness happiness depends on happenstance right
your circumstance and joy depends whether you are going to rejoice in the
God of your circumstances even though the circumstances is bad which one are
you going to concentrate on the differences between joy and getting in
depression right and so he is directing us in the midst to let us be glad in
heart having joy Psalm 16:11 I make known to you the path of life in
in your presence is fullness of joy and in your right hand is pleasure forever
I got to memorize because I say a little time I need it I need to be reminded and
isn't I have so many people coming to me what is the will of God for me notice
yeah I've made known to you the path of life and then he talks about joy and God
do you think there's a connection there yeah I think there's a connection and so
you can have joy and heart and I want you I know I'm going to finish out this
a little bit probably with this and just but let's turn to John chapter 15 John
15 is in their notes there 15 7 that was when I study things my new study is
downstairs now and that makes my wife in the kitchen most of the time and so she
gets I get to share with her all the time well I said honey listen to these
verses and Sheila's loves it because she can work and get the word
see and so verse 7 of chapter 15 of John if you abide in me in my word abides in
you those are the conditions okay then you can ask whatever you wish and it
shall be done for you because you'll be asking according to the will of God now
you got to watch timing there in his time but this is my father's excuse me
by this is my father glorified that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my
disciples just as the father has loved me I have loved you abide in my love if
you keep my Commandments you will abide in my love but he's just making this one
right after the other doesn't he just as I have kept
my father's Commandments and abide in his love and here it is ready these
things I have spoken to you that my joy may be made that it may be in you and
that your joy may be made full full and in John 17 just to make sure we didn't
miss it in the great high priestly prayer I can't believe I missed this so
many years it's amazing how you can read a text and not understand it maybe I
don't still yet but anyway yeah John 17 verse 13 but when Jesus is praying but
now I come to you and these things I speak in the world that they the
disciples and us in verse 20 may have my joy made full in themselves full in
yourself and David in Psalm 4 is speaking that we should have gladness
and joy in the heart both old testament and new testament person more than when
they have grain or new wine and finally in peace I will both lie down and sleep
this is Frank's verse here loveth my brother I will never forget was your
testimony on it but you alone O Lord make me to dwell in safety or securely
it comes from the Hebrew word for trust
so you want to have a practical aspect of whether you are trusting God and the
joy in him can you sleep at night good good test huh
or does it or does that keep you up at night
so let me leave you with the main point of the psalm at least for me the
righteous can rejoice in God's protecting grace that brings them peace
joy goodness and security in the face of distressing attempts to disgrace us when
you have distress that's disgracing you you have this
promise of some form to give you peace joy goodness and security and that
should cause you to sleep at night that should cause us to have security to walk
even when we don't have the answer yet let's pray lord thank you my heart is
thrilled with your word what a practical song Lord thank you for it
o that we might live in the light of it Lord come and do it in our lives we pray
in Christ's name Amen
