Peloponnese Wine Festival, Limassol, 2019 (1 of 2) - Duration: 11:36.Hey Tasters! Today I'm in Limassol. 23 leading Peloponnese winemakers have
organized a tasting event. More than 200 wines from the Peloponnese, I can't
wait. Come with me!
So this is the Fileri from the estate Panagiotopoulos.
Fileri, it's, the wineries located in Trifylia that's in Messinia, of
the western Peloponnese. The grape variety is Fileri, it's an indigenous variety to
our region so you won't find it in other areas. This is from the 2018 vintage.
Normally it's a wine that we ferment and mature in stainless steel tanks and
usually has fresh aromas. Nice citrus notes with a nice crisp mouthfeel.
It's very aromatic guys, it's a beautiful white wine there's a lot of floral
aromas, a lot of stone fruit, like pears. And absolutely beautiful I think. What
would you pair this with? What would you serve this with?
Salads or fish of course.
If you come to Messinia and Kalamata, we have very nice fish there and very nice
agricultural products that you could pair with like tomatoes, all kinds of
salads. The Malagousia, again from Panagiotopoulos estate.
This is our favourite white wine. Malagousia, it's an indigenous variety
to Greece, very aromatic. And I believe that ours
apart from the nice nose that one expects from Malagaousia has also very nice and a
very round mouthfeel. So we're very happy with his wine.
Is this fermented in steel tanks?
Again, this is also fermented only in stainless
steel tank and matured in stainless tanks. We do some
battonage, some sur lie ageing in the tanks. So, and I think that that's the
reason that it has a nicer mouthfeel versus other Malagousia wines that you
can find.
This is divine, this is absolutely beautiful.
Very, very aromatic. Beautiful floral aromas, beautiful fruit, very vibrant.
Refreshing acidity, I I could taste this all day long.
Cheers!
This is Marcos Zambartas. Marcos Zambartas is one of the up-and-coming wine makers of Cyprus.
He is an expert in grape varieties and I've
just run into him. And all I want to ask you Marcos is, which grape variety of the
ones you've tasted here today is your favourite?
I really preferred the
Moschofilero, the white wines of the Peloponnese. Really fragrant aromas,
really expressive and very clean wines.
It's it's a very easygoing light white.
Yes, not all of them are I would consider them you know easygoing and the acidity
is very refreshing. And quite remarkable that Greece can have wine with such high
acidity other than Assyrtiko. The floral aroma doesn't make them necessarily very
fruit friendly, but there are some examples that they are very fruit
friendly and I think in general we're going to see much better wines as time
passes. There's great potential there.
Thank you very much. This is Mr. Marcos Zambartas everyone.
Thank you!
Hi, my name is Charis Tselepos, I'm with Ktima Tselepos.
We are situated in Mantineia, which is the place that Moschofilero
wine is mainly produced. And we also have wine producing in the Nemea region with
Agiorgitiko grapes, and we also make wine in Santorini, mainly Assyrtiko.
Today you will taste Blanc de Gris which is a wine made from Moschofilero. We make two
kinds of two different types of Moschofilero.
One which is more aromatic, lighter, crispier, and one that's more full-bodied
which is the one that you will taste now.
So this wine is made from 100% Moschofilero grapes. It's mostly fermented
in big oak tanks and it's aged for a few months in big used oak barrels. And
nowadays we experiment a bit with this wine. A percentage of it is is fermented
in these oak tanks and percentages in eggs, and amphoras. So, yeah it's a mix
of different fermentation techniques, and we try to make the best wine possible.
Do the grapes macerate with the skins because I can see this is a darker colour
than most whites. Is that from the ageing or the maceration?
Mostly, the colour comes from
the ageing because it's, in the... The fermentation happens in the wooden tanks,
but it's also four to six months in 500 litre
barrels. It goes well with seafood for me. Seafood fish would be a really good
pairing for this wine.
I think he it would take fatty seafood like salmon and prawns.
Yeah, exactly some fish with sauces would do a real
good pairing for this wine.
Hey Tasters! This is Bill Warry, he's one of the biggest wine bloggers on the
island of Cyprus. He also has a wine tours business. This man loves wine,
this man understands wine, and I really want to ask him... Bill you've tasted the
wines here today what's your favourite Greek grape variety?
Well, what I have found that really excited me today is actually originally from Italy but
brought to Greece, and is a blend quite often you get very nice blends. And here
we had an 80% Refosco with 20% Mavrodaphne. It was exquisite!
The most marvellous pairing that I can think of with Stifado.
Stifado guys is a stew, loads of onions.
A Greek beef stew as Greeks know how to make stew.
Absolutely! And it's the orange zest that makes the difference.
Cheers Bill!
My pleasure.
I'm Panayiotis Papagianopoulos from Tetramythos organic winery from the north
part of Peloponnese. We are in the village of Ano Diakopto. We
cultivated only organic vineyards. And you are going to taste Tetramythos
Roditis Natur. It's a natural wine with AOC indication Patras, from the vineyards of 2017.
It's wild fermented with a spontaneous malolactic fermentation.
It's rich in floral and lemon blossoms aromas, with a very creamy and savoury taste.
This is a beautiful wine guys. It's full-bodied for a white. Very full-bodied
and citrus blossoms, a really refreshing acidity. What would you pair with this?
Well it's ideal for feta cheese, the Greek pies with the herbs, and fight as
well. Its ideal food pairing with seafood starting from the small fried
fishes, and going up to the oysters and generally shellfish, because it has a very
nice salty finishing in the mouthfeel. It has the lemony and the salty
character, so it's ideal for fish food pairing.
It's absolutely lovely and
he's right there is a little bit of salty air in this this tastes like grace
this tastes like the perfect wine to pair with anything you'd get in a
Greek, in a Greek tavern. Cheers!
This is Alexandros Alexandrou, one of the biggest wine lovers on the island. He's
very prolific on social media, look him up. He is qualified by his passion for
Cyprus wine and Greek wine. So, Alexandros, you're here at the Peloponnese
festival, could you please tell me... of all the
Peloponnese grape varieties you've tried, which one is your favourite?
Well, obviously there's only one that stands out, and that is Agiorgitiko.
Agiorgitiko is Peloponnese, that's it!
Why do you like Agiorgitiko?
Because, first of all it's medium in tannins, it's not very tannic wine and
apart from that, I personally believe that it's even better than Xinomavro.
A lot of people will disagree with me, but my personal opinion is that
Agiorgitiko is better Xinomavro. It is the best wine in the
Peloponnese and maybe entire Greece.
You don't go to Alexandros for half-measures
guys! So there you go. Strong statements, from a strong man, about the strong wine.
Thank you very much for your time!
Hey guys, I've had an amazing time here at
the Peloponnese festival. I've been introduced to grape varieties I never
knew before. I've met wine makers. I've met wine lovers. I have so much footage I'm
going to have to make two videos. The second part of this video will be coming
to you soon, so stay tuned. If you've enjoyed this
video leave me a thumbs up, subscribe, share this video with a friend.
Cheers everyone!

Crock Pot Potato Soup | Homemade Soup Recipe - Duration: 5:33.Hi everybody its Shannon and welcome to my channel today
We are making potato and broccoli soup. It's a super easy super quick
Meal that you can just throw in in the morning and it will be done at night
It can take six to ten hours depending on
your schedule and what works for you you also can add and
Subtract whatever you want. It's just a very
manipulative
Recipe so it's super easy
So if you want to see how I made this
Keep watching and if this is a video that you like make sure you subscribe to see more
So first we're gonna start off with
potatoes
frozen broccoli
some
Chicken broth or chicken stock whatever you have
Cream cheese a couple black some garlic
Seasoned salt I didn't have any so I just had to make my own
And then any garnishes that you would like and half in half to make it a little bit more creamy
Obviously you can admit that if you want
So first you're gonna want to wash your potatoes
And then of course I had to post on Instagram if you're not following me. I'm always posting to my stories
So make sure you're following them Instagram and then you're just gonna want to chop and dice your potatoes
However, you like how big how small
Really it doesn't matter
the bigger is going to take longer, of course to cook and
You will be puring half of these potatoes
Eventually throughout this recipe so you will keep that in mind also
So once I diced all 5 pounds of the potatoes I put them directly in my crock pot
these liners I cannot live without they are a must and
Then I added all of the chicken stock. I
Filled that thing up
Now I'm putting in the garlic I will put the exact recipe below
just
So cuz I'm not telling you the measurements or anything
But like this is super like you don't have to
Be precise about it in my opinion. It's like whatever you want
Then I added a teaspoon
I did actually go back and add another teaspoon that didn't show of the seasoning and
Then I added some broccoli. Also. I just felt like the more seasoning the better
It really is a personal preference though. I
mix all that together
And
Then I just cooked it on high for six hours
You can cook it on low for 10 also
Then I just put some cream cheese and
About half of the soup into a blender to blend it up and make it smooth. You also can use
Immersion. Oh my gosh. Look at that mess
You can use an immersion blender. Also, I don't have one. So I just used a
big blender
And I did go in and add more soup and more cream cheese
So it ended up using both the cream cheeses and about half of that soup
You could blend the whole thing if that's your thing if you don't want
Chunks in your soup. It's really up to you
I probably want to use less potatoes and more broccoli if I redid this recipe again and
Then I just blended it all up and made it super creamy and smooth
And then just poured it back into the crock-pot
mixed it up and let it
Just being warm for like another hour till my husband got home, but it would be ready to eat right now also
If you were ready to eat
And then I just plated it into a bowl
And added my garnishes
Thank you all for watching
Make sure you're subscribed for more videos and comment below any videos that you would like to see in the future
Thank you all and I'll see in the next video. Bye

The 10 Things Cruise Ship Butlers Do. And 4 Things They Absolutely Won't Do! - Duration: 10:19.I'm Gary Bembridge and this is another of my tips for travellers. We're about to
explore the world of butlers on cruise ships, and find out the 10 things that
they will do and the four things they will say absolutely no way will they do.
I've built this based on my own experiences and also talking to
and interviewing a number of Butlers around the different cruise lines that
I've cruised with. First of all, let's find a little bit about the myths and
realities of exactly what is a butler on a cruise ship.
Not all cruise ships offer Butlers, but many of the cruise lines will offer a
butler for those passengers travelling in a suite. It's quite interesting
because Butlers aren't necessarily all on one particular grade or type of
cruise line, for example there are a number of mass-market cruise lines that
will offer their passengers a butler. For example, Norwegian Cruise
Line, Costa and MSC Cruises in the mass category, in the premium category you do see many more
cruise lines offering Butler service, for example Cunard, Celebrity, Oceania, Azamara
and P&O Cruises - and all those cruise lines is for passengers in their Suites.
In the Ultra-luxury segment you would expect most of the cruise lines to have
Butlers, however that's not true. You find Butlers on board Silversea,
Regent Seven Sea and Crystal. Silversea, as far as I can tell, is the only
cruise line that offers a butler to every single cabin or suite on board
their ship and everyone has a butler. The second important thing to understand
about Butlers is forget Downton Abbey, forget Carson, forget all the imagery of
the posh English Butler. You'll find the Butlers are both male and female, you'll
find that they come from all around the world. I've had Butlers from Italy.
the Philippines, from Indonesia and from India. The other
kind of myth about Butlers is, unlike again like Downton Abbey,
unfortunately your Butler will be looking after a number of people. They
don't just look after you. It's not a one-on-one relationship with your Butler.
Let's take a look at the 10 things that you can reasonably expect a butler
to do for you. On many cruise lines the Butlers will actually meet and greet
you at the check-in desk or when you board the ship.
They will then introduce themselves obviously and show you through the ship
and to your suite. Right from the very beginning you have a sense of feeling
really important because you have a meet-and-greet service. That
happened, for example, on MSC where a butler met me when I checked in if
you were in the Yacht Club. However, on other cruise lines, so for
example on Cunard, the Butlers doesn't meet you and just introduce themselves
later in the suite. The other thing that the Butlers will do is they will spend
some time explaining to you the facilities and how the ship works.
They will give you a personal one time briefing about the ship and where to find
the facilities and how things operate. They also explain how you
access certain parts of the ship so, for example, on some of the ships like on MSC
Cruises where the Suites and the Butlers are in a very distinct area,
they also tell you how your access that area and what facilities are within that
whole ship within a ship. The next thing they will do for you is set up and
manage your room. For example in most Suites they will explain to you the pillow
concierge service or the pillow menu and they'll help you choose the right
pillows for you. They'll also set up your minibar and agree what you want in your
minibar, and they will keep replenishing that. They'll perhaps check what snacks
or fruit you want, and they'll make sure that's then set up and constantly
replenished. If you want they'll also occasionally run a bath for you if you
want a particular bath set up or when you're coming back from a big day
out on excursions they can set up a nice scented bath. Also if you want perhaps
DVDs or CDs or books brought to the cabin they also make sure that your
cabin is stocked with those. They'll bring you
daily canapes every evening just before dinner.
Of course what they'll also do is they'll supervise and make sure that
your cabin is kept fresh and they'll make sure that it's reset whenever you go out.
They will do the nightly turndown service and they normally partner with a
cabin steward who will do some of the more heavy duty cleaning. They
basically set up and maintain the suite with what you want in it and how you
want it run. The other thing they will do for you is pack and unpack. On some
Cruise Lines I found the Butlers will actually offer to do that, in others they
wait to be asked because, of course, in many cases a lot of people want to
unpack themselves because they know exactly where they want to put things.
But certainly a key part of a butler service is unpacking,
putting everything away and when you're ready to pack instead of that awful
evening or day before you leave they will pack it all up again for you.
The fifth thing that a Butlers will do is look after all your grooming
needs. They'll make sure that your shoes are polished if you need them, they
will also handle all your laundry and dry cleaning requirements. So, anything to
do with looking after your clothes and looking after your shoes,
including if you perhaps have broken a heel they also make sure that things
like your shoes are fixed up. Also if you want a dress or a
shirt freshly pressed ready for perhaps a big night out or gala evening,
they'll also do that for you. One of the most popular things that people get
Butlers to do is bring meals to them. They will also organize with you for
breakfast, lunch or dinner. Normally in a normal cabin you just phone room
service, you order room service and someone from the room service department
will come in dump a tray and they might a little set up and go. A butler will
actually do much more of a full-on meal service and they'll lay a nice table,
they'll serve the meal very nicely and if you having dinner in your
cabin they serve it course-by-course, so bring each course
individually and serve that for you. Perhaps you wanted a nice cappuccino or
a nice coffee, they will also organize that and bring
that to you. If you have any dietary requirements or needs they
will also, if you want, deal with the restaurant and the chef on your behalf.
Another great service that Butlers will provide, and one that I probably
haven't taken enough advantage of when I've had a butler, is they will act as a
concierge. They will make all the arrangements if you want like specialty
dining bookings, they can also book appointments for things like gym classes,
personal training or reservations at the spa. They will also book and arrange for
you the excursions you want or they will take on your behalf to work with the
excursions department to arrange a private tour. They can also, if you want,
give you advice and tips and even make reservations off the ship. They have
a huge amount of experience of the ship and the ports and they are a mine of
information. Take a look at your Butlers as providing a kind of a concierge and
booking service. Another thing that people use Butlers for very frequently
is to arrange parties or events within the suite. They will set up an arrange
for you to have a cocktail party or some kind of event within your suite. They
will reorganize the furniture, arrange the canapes and arrange the
drink. If perhaps it's your partner or travel companions birthday or some
special event, they will also (if you ask them) decorate the cabin,
arrange a cake. So, any event or activity that you want within your suite they
will also arrange. Another thing the Butlers will do is escort you around
the ship, to certain events or activities or places that you want to go.
Particularly at the beginning of a cruise if you're on a ship that you're
not familiar with, they will take you if you want to to the dining
room or they'll take you to where a particular event or activities going on,
for example a cocktail party. They take you where you want
to go. Another great thing that Butlers do is problem solving, and the great
thing about having a Butlers is if you have any issues you have someone you can
turn to and they will sort it out. For example, I was traveling with someone and
they were in a suite and a suitcase had a broken handle and
the butler took the suitcase away and I guess worked with some workmen
down somewhere in the depths of the ship and fixed the suitcase up. It was
ready to use again. If you have any problems or issues Butlers are great at
helping solve problems. We've taken a look at what butters will do, but what
will they refuse to do? What will they not do for you? There's four key things
that fall into this category. The first thing that a butler will refuse to do is
babysitting. They will not look after your children. If you want to go out and
do anything you have to make other arrangements, the butler will not do that
partly because they don't have time, but also they don't have the expertise the
skill and I guess the clearances to do that. They will not babysit. Secondly
they won't act as carers or support people. So won't for example travel with you
on excursions if you have limited mobility. They will not help you if you need
caring activity in terms of getting out of the bath or around your suite.
Any of those sort of activities which are Carer activities they will not provide
those for you. If you do have any of those needs you have to be travelling
with someone who can provide that service for you.
Thirdly, they will not act as your personal companion. Although they
might take you places or escort you places, they will not come along and sit
with you at dinner or come to the show with you.
They won't go out on tours with you. They're not any kind of a companion. Of
course they can't solve all problems. They will do their damned best and
actual what I found is they sometimes like a challenge, because if it
shakes things up and gives them something different to do from the
normal and the routine. But a butler will not be able to solve everything for you.
If you're lucky enough to be travelling in a suite, or you're in one of those
ultra luxury lines that have Butlers, hopefully this has given you a better
sense about what you can actually expect. I do really wish I'd had
this advice before I went on a cruise and had a butler. I was kind of
embarrassed about it because I thought "Well I'm paying for this. I have a
butler and I don't really know what I should be asking them to do and I don't want to
embarrass myself by asking to do things that are way out of
the scope". Hopefully this has given you a good sense about what a butler is
and isn't for. If you enjoyed this video, I'd love it if you watched many more of my

more of your precious travel time and money on both land and at sea.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Health System in Unity - Part 3 - Duration: 7:18.Hey there, my name is Charles and this is part 3 of a series in which I'm using Unity
to recreate the Core System from Red Dead Redemption 2.
In part 2 we began writing our first bit of real core system functionality by implementing
health ring regeneration.
In this video introduce health core depletion, which'll effectively complete the functionality
of our first core.
If you haven't already, I highly recommend watching parts 1 and 2 so it's easier to
follow along.
Otherwise, let's get right into it.
First things first, let's review our user story.
"As a player who enjoys immersive games, I want Arthur's health core to deplete over
time so that I have an incentive to make him sleep and eat."
I really like how this story was written because it explains why this feature is valuable to
the player.
And it also describes the type of player that cares about this functionality, which could
affect how we implement it at a high level.
Let's read the acceptance criteria next.
Given that he's alive, Arthur's health core should deplete over time when it isn't
empty.
And the rate of depletion should be configurable.
Simple enough!
Let's boot up Unity and Rider.
And open up the HealthSystem class.
So I have a feeling that the implementation is gonna to be pretty straightforward.
But there's one thing I'm not 100% sure about.
I don't really know how, or if, it's going affect the logic we've already written.
Thankfully, we've been using Test-Driven Development, so we have a nice suite of tests
that were designed to protect us against regressions.
This logic will be super easy to write but I don't think there's any harm in using
TDD to tease it out.
So let's open up the HeatlhSystemTest class.
Now let's go ahead and write a base case test.
But wait, pop quiz, what base case behavior do you think we'll be testing and what do
you think I'll name the test.
Pause the video and try to reason it out, then leave a comment letting me know how you
did.
Alright, create a Unity test called "EmptyCore_NoDepletion".
Then create an instance of health system and initialize it's values.
I'm just gonna paste in some code from a previous test.
We can max everything out except for the core which we'll set to 0.
Then assert that the core value is still 0 after one update has elapsed.
Run the test.
And it passes.
But we haven't really done anything yet.
If we switch over to the HealthSystem class, we can see that the logic for this test is
actually already in place.
The first guard clause in the Update method returns when the core value is equal to 0.
But we should at least expose a variable to hold the depletion rate and set it in the
test before 5we move on.
Go ahead and add a public float variable called DepletionRate.
Then switch back to the HealthSystemTest class and initialize it's value to 0.
Now rerun the test.
Great!
Still geen.
We're trying to guard against future regression so each test should be reflect the true state
of the class.
Which means we'll have to refactor our previous tests to include the new variable.
This time, let's rerun the entire suite.
Still green.
Beautiful!
Real quick, just wanted to give a quick shoutout to Mateo from our community Discord server.
The other day he shared the Live Snippet that I used to create the base case test and it's
been really helpful.
It was super easy to set up and now all I need to do is type utest and hit tab whenever
I need to create Unity test.
Live Snippets are a feature in Rider, the code editor that I use.
I'll leave a link in the description in case you're interested in checking it out.
Alright let's get back to it.
Create a new test called "FullCore_Depletes".
Copy in the initialization logic from the previous test.
And set the depletion rate to 1 and the core value to Time.deltaTime.
The reason we're doing this is because delta time equals the amount of time that has elapsed
since the previous frame.
So we're gonna need to factor that into our logic just like we did for the regeneration
rate.
Since our depletion rate is set to 1, or 1 per second, we'd expect to assert that the
value is equal to 0 after one update.
The problem is that there's no way to control delta time's value and it changes every
frame.
So instead of using float.Epsilon as our delta, we'll just use a number that's a little
higher.
Or I guess it's a lot higher in mathematical terms, but you get what I mean.
Run the test.
It fails.
So switch over to the HealthSystem class and add in the logic.
We can drop it in right after the first guard clause.
Run the test.
Beautiful.
Now, this isn't our first rodeo.
We're gonna need to make sure that we're not depleting past 0 just like we did for
regeneration.
So switch back to the HealthSystemTest class and add one more test.
Call it "AlmostEmpty_DepletesToEmpty".
Copy in the initialization from the previous test.
And set the core value to 0.001.
Now let's assert that the value is equal to 0 using epsilon as the delta.
Run the test.
Perfect!
It fails, which is just what we want.
Now we can pop back into the HealthSystem class and adjust the logic to meet our new
needs.
Using Math.Max will ensure that the core value will never be set to a value lower than 0.
Run the test.
Beautiful.
How about a quick demo?
Let's switch back to Unity and set the deplete rate to a value that'll be easy to visualize.
Now run the scene.
Awesome!
Well, that's it for part 3.
We've completed our first fully functional core.
In part 4 we'll get right to work on stamina, which should be pretty straightforward considering
it functions exactly like the health.

Vladimir Putin Honors Patriarch Kirill in the Kremlin - Duration: 9:57.Your Holiness, primates and representatives of local Orthodox churches, priests, ladies and gentlemen,
I am glad to welcome all of you in the heart of Russia, in the Moscow Kremlin, with its holy shrines that mean a lot to every Orthodox believer.
Today's gathering is dedicated to a special date. At the end of January 2009, the Local Council of the Russian Orthodox Church met to elect a new primate – Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.
I would like to warmly and sincerely congratulate His Holiness on the 10th anniversary of his enthronement.
In December 2017, we came together to celebrate the centenary of the restoration of the patriarchate in our country and recognised the decisive role played by the primates of the Russian Orthodox Church in many respects in the destiny of the Fatherland, the greatness of their devotion and service to our people.
Like his outstanding predecessors, Patriarch Kirill carries out his archpastoral mission with honour. Abiding by the Christian commandments, he seeks to help people find their way to the church, to bolster their faith, and to support them in word and deed.
His wisdom and honesty, his openness and generosity have earned him respect and trust both in Russia and far beyond its borders.
His Holiness and Orthodox hierarchs, together with representatives of other traditional religions, are making a significant contribution to strengthening social harmony, helping resolve profoundly important, sometimes very sensitive issues that people are concerned and worry about.
I know how much has been done in recent years to expand the Church's social services; the enormous, tireless work in this area the churches are doing, bringing in volunteers, benefactors, and all those who seeks to selflessly help other people.
This work is invaluable; it cannot be measured by statistics, but still, allow me to cite a few figures.
In 2009, there was only one church shelter in Russia for women with children who ended up in difficult life situations. Last year their number grew to 58. More than 100 new humanitarian aid centres have opened. Nursing care and social rehabilitation services are developing.
The Russian Orthodox Church is always found where people are experiencing difficulties; it is always with people who are in trouble.
That was the case in the summer of 2010, when Russia was confronted with the elements, when fires raged across many regions of our country; that was the case in Krymsk and in cities and villages of the Far East affected by floods.
Today, the Russian Orthodox Church coordinates and contributes to over 6,500 social projects, thereby significantly strengthening the efforts of the state and society in this area.
I would like to offer special thanks to Patriarch Kirill and the Church for the spiritual guidance of the Russian army.
Your sincere, heartfelt words help the soldiers and officers to defend their homeland with honour, instil in them confidence in their military prowess and moral righteousness.
The educational activities of the ROC deserve great respect, as do the restoration of old churches and the building of new ones.
Patriarch Kirill and I recently attended the ceremony to consecrate the foundation of one of them – a majestic cathedral commemorating the soldiers of the Great Patriotic War, named the Resurrection of Christ.
The noble devotion of the Russian Orthodox Church extends over its entire canonical territory.
And we are grateful to His Holiness for his constant attention to our compatriots and the support of foreign communities, for his tireless work to build trust between countries and peoples, to expand humanitarian contacts.
I must emphasise that such honest, impeccable service that Patriarch Kirill demonstrates is an example of true love for the Fatherland and for our people,
and the successes achieved in this field lay the foundation for the development of the Church for decades to come.
Your Holiness, Dear participants of the solemn meeting,
Today, as for many centuries, the high purpose of the Russian Orthodox Church is extremely in demand.
I emphasize that the state will continue to actively develop a constructive partnership with the Church in all significant areas, primarily in the education of the young generation, in preserving cultural wealth, in solving pressing social problems.
Today, Russia faces large-scale challenges and ambitious goals, without exaggerating historical tasks in demography, in social development, in improving the quality of life of people, in working to achieve a breakthrough in economics, science, and technology.
But we understand well: in order to achieve new frontiers, it is important for us to preserve our identity, our unity and solidarity.
And they are built on those values that have been honored at all times by Orthodoxy and other traditional religions of Russia: this is mercy, honesty and justice, this is caring for your neighbor and family, respect for parents and children and, of course, love for the Motherland.
Oblivion of these values is fraught with the most destructive consequences, depersonalization and degradation of a person, so that he can become a victim of the most vile and base manipulations.
I repeat: the common duty of co-working, the responsibility of the state, the Church, religious leaders, and society is to preserve and strengthen our spiritual, moral, value basis, transfer it to the youth, future generations, so as not to lose ourselves in an era of turbulent global changes.
And of course, we hope that the Russian Orthodox Church will continue to remain an effective peacemaking force, as before, to strengthen friendship and good-neighborliness, to support our compatriots and people of Orthodox culture.
Historical interchurch ties historically united, brought people together, and served to develop equal relations between Russia and many foreign countries.
But, unfortunately, we see other examples where speculation, politicking, parasitizing on questions of religious life lead to the separation of people, provoke anger and intolerance.
It is such a project that is not related to faith, but a false one, tied up in a struggle for power, is being implemented today in Ukraine.
It is regrettable that the Patriarchate of Constantinople was also involved in it.
In essence, there is a gross interference in the church life.
Its initiators seemed to learn from the godless of the last century, who expelled believers from churches, poisoned and persecuted the clergy.
I want to emphasize again: the state, the Russian authorities consider any interference in church affairs to be absolutely unacceptable.
We respected and will respect the independence of the church life, especially in the neighboring sovereign country.
Nevertheless...
we reserve the right to react and do everything to protect human rights, including freedom of religion.
And in conclusion I would like to once again congratulate Patriarch Kirill on a significant date - a decade of enthronement.
I wish His Holiness vigor, longevity, new successes in the archpastoral work. May your prayers preserve the Russian Orthodox Church and our Fatherland.
Thank you for your attention.

The Government Shutdown Ends & Fox News Can't Decide Whether Trump Won or Lost | The Daily Show - Duration: 6:19.After 35 days of the longest shutdown in American history,
America's government is officially open for business.
The shutdown is over.
800,000 furloughed federal workers
will go back to work today
and should be getting their back pay within days.
TV REPORTER: That fix only opens the government for three weeks,
and it does not provide any new money
for a border wall as President Trump had demanded.
I am very proud to announce today
that we have reached a deal to end the shutdown
and reopen the federal government.
Okay, first of all, there's nothing to be proud of.
Second of all, there's not really a deal.
Like, have you ever noticed how all of Trump's accomplishments
are just fixing things that he broke?
He's like, "Folks, good news.
I've freed the immigrant kids from their cages."
"Wait, who put them in cages?"
"Also me.
"I'm glad to announce
North Korea isn't gonna blow us up anymore."
"Wait, why were they gonna blow us up?"
"'Cause I called him a fat little rocket man."
(laughter and applause)
And who can forget when he dropped
the White House bust of Abraham Lincoln,
but then he was also the one who taped it back together.
Yeah. And you can't even tell the difference.
He's like, "I'm proud to announce
"the refurbishment of this Lincoln statue.
"Sadly, it was not filled with candy
as I had hoped, folks."
So, the government shutdown is officially over.
Which is great,
because federal workers are getting paid again.
The FDA can inspect food again,
and the national parks can finally clean up their trash
and put it where it belongs: the ocean.
And although the shutdown ended,
that doesn't mean it hasn't left behind some lasting damage.
The nonpartisan Budget Office today estimated
the last partial shutdown cost the economy $11 billion,
three billion of which will never be recovered.
The government shutdown was particularly hard
on contract employees.
Those contractors aren't guaranteed back pay.
The IRS is gonna be struggling
to get returns out to some Americans on time.
It could take at least a year to get back to normal
after five million pieces of mail went unopened.
You know, life is so unfair.
The IRS just gets to be like,
"Oh, sorry. We couldn't do your taxes
because we didn't open our mail."
But if we tried that...
If we said, "Oh, we didn't file our taxes
because we didn't open our mail,"
now all of a sudden we're roommates with Wesley Snipes.
And don't get me wrong.
I love Blade, but not 24 hours a day.
So, now, thanks to the shutdown,
the IRS is behind, like, a year,
which is bad news for everyone except Trump.
He's probably gonna be like, "Oh, that's too bad.
I was just about to have them release my tax returns."
So, although it was only 35 days,
the government shutdown's effects
will continue to hurt America for a while.
And maybe it would have been all worth it for Trump
if he had gotten some of that sweet, sweet wall money,
but he folded with nothing to show for it.
And even some of his strongest supporters are admitting
that Trump got owned by Nancy Pelosi bigly.
Some right-wing media analysts have been merciless
in the criticism of President Trump.
"Broken man." "Biggest wimp."
"Trump just allowed Nancy to walk all over him."
It's clear Trump did not come out on top.
I'm not gonna spin it for you.
She has just whipped the president of the United States.
-And this... -No!
No, no. Stop. Stop, stop.
That's a victory for Nancy Pelosi.
It will be perceived as such
on every television monitor and screen in the country,
and to deny it is to try to escape from reality.
Damn. You know it's bad
when even Trump's personal cheerleaders are dunking on him.
You understand these are the people he watches every night
to make him feel good about himself,
and now they're trashing him.
It's like, imagine if you had a book
of inspirational quotes that you used every day,
and then one day you opened it,
and it was like, "Nigga, kill yourself!"
That's the pain he's feeling right now.
(laughter)
And you heard... you heard what Lou Dobbs said.
If you can't acknowledge
that Nancy Pelosi whupped Trump's ass,
then you are not in touch with reality.
And honestly, I don't know
why Lou Dobbs delivered this message on TV.
He could have just posted a sign in the Fox News breakroom.
Anyone out there, by the way,
thinking President Trump caved today,
you don't really know the Donald Trump I know.
He right now holds all the cards.
He will secure the border one way or another.
I don't see it as a cave. I see this as a process.
This is a halftime, uh, stop in the action.
So, did he cave? Did he not?
The answer is absolutely he did not cave.
He did not cave.
He made a tactical decision,
a strategy decision
to pick the ground to fight on.
"To pick the ground to fight on!
To pick the ground!"
Yo, this... I'm sorry, this is unbelievable.
No matter what Trump does, he's always a mastermind
who's accomplishing precisely what he wanted to do.
Like, if Trump was boxing and he got knocked out cold,
like, Jeanine Pirro would be like, "Brilliant.
"Another strategic consciousness pause
"by President Trump.
You can't get knocked down if you stay on the ground!"
(laughter and applause)
What a...
But, look, if you ignore the stans over at Fox News,
it's pretty clear this shutdown
was a political disaster for President Trump.
It hurt the economy,
it destroyed his approval ratings,
and, worst of all, he's not getting his wall.
And remember, Congress only has three weeks
to reach an agreement on border security
before the government runs out of money again.
But the good news is...
the good news is there probably won't be another shutdown.
Because after seeing how bad this shutdown went,
like, only a true moron
would think of shutting down the government again,
and no one... no one is that stupid, right?
We begin today with the president's
acting chief of staff, Mick Mulvaney.
Is the president really prepared
to shut down the government again in three weeks?
Um, yeah, I think he actually is.
My man.
