Today we are going to learn the Basic Armpit Hang.
First, we will practice this trick close to the floor, then on the top.
So, stand a side to the pole and take the pole with both your hands using the narrow
grip, outside arm is slightly higher then the inside one.
After move your inside elbow towards the pole, catch the pole with your armpit, next, move
your elbow forward and down.
Try to squeeze the pole with your armpit hard.
Your hips should be in front of the pole and you should feel the good grip with your side.
Keep your back straight, move your hips forward to increase the side grip.
Make sure that your armpit and side don't slide.
Use some products to improve your grip if it is necessary.
The next step is to lift your bent legs up one by one starting with the inside leg.
Watch your arms and back in this movement - don't move it.
If you feel confidence about your armpit and side grip, straighten your inside arm forward
and towards the pole, catching the pole with your armpit tightly.
If you still feel confident, reduce the outside hand grip and try to move your outside arm
forward too, clinch your hands together.
Don't change the position of your body and legs.
To exit the trick, catch the pole with your outside hand, then, with the inside one by
bending your arms.
After lower your legs to the ground.
If, while doing this move, you start to slide or fall down, straighten your legs little
bit to lower on your feet softly.
At the same time, catch the pole with both your arms by bending them.
Repeat this preparatory exercise on the other side as well.
Now let's go on to the trick on the top.
Perform the basic climb, not too high and catch the pole with both your hands using
the narrow grip.
Then move your body a little to the side of your upper hand.
Holding the pole with both your hands tightly, move your torso to get into the Pencil position.
Move your inside elbow a little to the side at first, after catch the pole with your armpit.
Keep your back straight, don't arch your lower back, try to feel the grip with your
side.
Then bend both your legs.
If you feel confidence about your armpit and side grip, carefully straighten your inside
arm forward and towards the pole, catching the pole with your armpit tightly.
If you still feel confidence, reduce the outside hand grip and try to move your outside arm
forward too, clinch your hands.
Don't change the position of your body and legs.
You have done the basic Armpit Hang.
To come out of the trick, bent your outside arm first to catch the pole with your hand,
next, bent your inside arm and catch the pole with your hand again.
Holding the pole with both your arms, come back to the Crucifix position.
The safety note - I recommend you to practice this element with your friend's or trainer's
support.
Or, as minimum, use the round thick mat.
If you start to slide or fall down, straighten your legs little bit to lower on your feet
softly, at first on your toes, not flat feet.
And surely, don't train this move too high for a start.
Also, it is ok to perform the trick with your inside hand catching the pole in the beginning.
You may feel discomfort in your armpit on this stage already.
If so, don't worry, continue to train this trick from the ground and after some time
you'll get used to the new feelings.
Note, that this is important to improve your grip in this trick - use some wax or magnesia,
clean the pole and it will be easier for you to perform The Basic Armpit Hang.
