hey what's up guys and gals it's a Minnesota beast I'm sorry I haven't been

able to get back to you guys comments this week NFL week 6 picks I went through them I just

gave them some likes and thumbs up and I'm just under the weather so I can't

kick this damn cold I'm sitting in my messy tool shop right now and I know I

need to get you my straight-up picks and my against spread picks for week 6 NFL

I haven't did my against spread so I figured I'd get those out to you I go on

to Vegasinsider.com to get my updates for my points and we're just gonna go from

there we're gonna start with the Thursday night game and I will give you

my straight up picks also just in case you missed them maybe since I did crappy

last week maybe that's just why I I did so crappy because of my cold but I'm

hoping to do better this week anyhow screw all that let's just get into this

because before I start sneezing and coughing cuz you don't want to see me

blow my nose do you no I don't got the energy anyhow Thursday night football

game big big match up part of me wants to go Philadelphia Eagles part of me wants

to go to New York Giants it's always a great rival game I'm taking the New York

Giants it's at home I'm taking the plus three like I said that's a half and a

half part of me like I said let's go Philly I applied to kicking myself in

the ass come Thursday night when Philip pulls ahead but I'm a tank New York

Giants right now plus three let's go into the Sunday NFL games to make this fast

I don't really have the energy to keep talking Tampa Bay Buccaneers

playing Atlanta I'm taking Tampa Bay for my straight-up pick and I'm also taking

the plus three and a half on Tampa Bay Pittsburgh Steelers going into place

Cincinnati Bengals I'm taking Cincinnati Bengals is my straight-up pick and I'm

also taking the minus two and a half LA Chargers at Cleveland Browns I'm taking

the Cleveland Browns for straight up and I'm also take

in the +3 on Cleveland Seattle Seahawks at Oakland Raiders I'm taking Oakland

Raiders straight up at a +3 Chicago Bears at Miami and I'm not sure if

they're gonna play that game or not in Miami because of the hurricane Michael

that just came through but let me know I don't know but I'll just take I'm taking

Chicago's a straight up pick at minus three Arizona Cardinals at Minnesota

Vikings everybody knows how I'm wearing my sick clothing right now but it's all

good it's my Minnesota Vikings sweatshirt and I'm taking the Minnesota

Vikings straight up and man I don't want to take those minus ten half on the

Vikings because the Arizona's been keeping games close but I did put down

minus ten a half go both ways I'm just going to take the minus ten half on

the Vikings you might be a safe bet to put that plus ten half on Arizona but

I'm gonna do the ten and a half on the Vikings Indianapolis Colts at the New

York Jets I'm taking the New York Jets straight up minus two and a half and I

apologize guys gals I just really don't got the energy I'm sick as a dog

Carolina Panthers at Washington Redskins I'm taking Washington as my straight-up

pick minus one Buffalo Bills at Houston I'm taking Houston is my straight-up

pick but I'm taking that plus nine a half points on Buffalo buffalo is one of

those teams this year that could actually win this game so I'm taking the

plus nine and a half for the against spread on Buffalo the LA Rams at Denver

Parabolic SAR Indicator Explained Simply and Understandably -- with David Moadel

hello friends and welcome to looking at the markets with David Modell today

we're going to talk about the parabolic SAR indicator invented by this man J

Wells Wilder who also brought us the RSI and the Average True Range all right so

let's take a look at stockcharts.com this is for swing trading this is a

daily candlestick chart of Apple stock later in this video we'll look at it

from the perspective of a day trader but for now we'll stick with swing trading

right now and notice that the parabolic SAR is a bunch of dots it's kind of

unusual looking all right and sometimes the candles are above the dots and

that's when the trend is upward that's bullish price action so when the

candles are above the dots right below them then you want to be going along

alright and then when the trend reverses when the candles start to go down then

you'll see that the candles are below the dots and that's bearish price action

the trend is downward and you want to get out of the stock at that point so

it's pretty simple okay so when the candles are above the dots you can take

a long position if you want to you can buy it and then as soon as the suddenly

the candles are below the dots you can get out all right take your profits so

if you kind of get a trailing stop loss effect here because notice that the dots

move with the candles the the dots the indicator it moves with the stock price

much like a trailing stop loss does so you can enjoy the ride up until the

trend turns downward when the price action gets ugly or the trend is down

then it takes you out again much like a trailing stop loss alright also what's

cool about this indicator you notice that a lot of indicators will be right

on top of the candles all the time and that's no fun right like moving averages

sometimes are right on top of the candlesticks and you can't see what's

what alright it's kind of annoying notice that the parabolic SAR dots are

never right on top of the candles right there not right in the middle the

price action there it's separated from it there you get some space some

breathing room between the indicator and the candles themselves and if you're

wondering when it decides to reverse well notice that let's take a look at

these candles right okay so these candles are below the dots and so here

it's bearish okay because you have a downward trend

you have bearish price action so it's below the dots and so you're not buying

the stock here you're staying out you could even go short if you want to but

for those who only go long who you know buy stocks and don't short them which is

a safer way to go especially for Apple which tends upward right tends to go

upward most of the time or a lot of the time so okay so here your candles are

below the dots okay that's bearish you want to stay out and then as soon as the

candles hit the dots above them what does that mean that means the trend is

upwards now so it hits the dots above them and look what happens to the dots

suddenly they shift all the way down here now the dots are below candles are

above you get in right here right okay so it's going upward it's trending

upward everything's great and then oh it trends downward right it's the beginning

of a downtrend here and as soon as the candle hits those dots below them guess

what happens to the dots this shift they shift to being above the candles now and

so you get out bearish price action downward trend you want to get out okay

so whenever the candles hit the dots either above or below then the dots

shift position above or below and because that's a trend change it's

signaling a trend change now the parabolic SAR indicator works best when

it's trending which Apple is on this chart for sure you could have done

pretty well with it you could have enjoyed a lot of rides up and you could

have avoided a lot of the waterfalls as I call them the the downward price

action alright because it would have taken you out kind of like a trailing

stop loss once again it would have treated taking you out as soon as the

trend or direction changed when it's no fun when it doesn't work too well is

during sideways price action because is then you are getting out and getting

in you're getting out you're getting in getting out all right buying selling

buying selling running up a lot of Commission costs unless you're using

Robin Hood or something like that or alpha investing or one of those you know

a fee free Commission free apps or something like that then you could avoid

the Commission costs but even then you have the frustration of getting out

getting in getting out getting in alright so when it's not a trending

market when it's a sideways drifty choppy kind of market it doesn't work

too well alright when it's trending it's fantastic look at that right up there

okay what made some nice profits there so you can use it with another indicator

that tells you when the market is or when the stock is trending and when it's

not trending something like that okay and there are indicators that do that

but if you have a trending market this works pretty well I would say all right

so that's for swing trading you can use it here's trading view calm this is a

good website with charts for day traders and swing traders do alright and notice

that again this is Apple stock it's a five-minute chart which is pretty good

for day traders and again you know we can see that you can ride it up okay and

so what happens well when the stock okay it's trending down so it's below the

dots and so you're staying out you know you're not buying the stock now but then

when the candle hits the dots what happens to the dots they shift to the

other position right below the candles now and you you can get in write it all

the way up and then oh the candles have switched directions they hit the dots

below them and so the dots shift to being above the candles and that's

bearish price action it takes you out right about here so that's an example

all right but again when you have that sideways action you're in you're out

you're in you're out you're frustrated no fun okay so only really best for

trending markets still a pretty good indicator overall but if you can use it

with another indicator that tells you when the market is trending or when it's

just drifting and sideways that can help you a lot

all right and I have videos on a lot of indicators and I'm gonna put this in a

playlist on YouTube with all not every indicator but practically almost all

Setting up Class Notebook with Microsoft Teams using OneNote for Windows 10 - Duration: 4:07.

The class notebook add-in for OneNote just got even better.

Now I can create assignments in OneNote that publish to Microsoft Teams

and even post grades straight from OneNote.

There are just four easy steps and I'll walk you

through each one on the following slides.

Step 1: Connect Microsoft teams to OneNote.

You'll notice a new button in your class notebook add in ribbon for connections.

Go ahead and click on it.

Here I'll select Microsoft teams from the drop-down list and then click sign in.

I'll then sign in with the same email address and password that I used to sign

into my Microsoft team's account. Once you're done check the box to keep

yourself signed in and then click sign in.

Step 2: Map your class notebooks.

The first thing I'll do is make sure OneNote

knows which notebook belongs to a particular course that I teach. From the

connection button choose map class notebooks. I need to tell OneNote which

notebooks aligned to which course I'm teaching inside Microsoft teams, so I'll

match up my class notebooks to the courses I teach and then click OK.

I'll also want to map the students in my class notebook to their accounts inside

Microsoft teams so here I'll select map students and then I'll make sure

the class notebook student names match up with their corresponding accounts

inside Microsoft teams. Once you're done go ahead and click OK.

Step 3: create an assignment.

You'll notice I have a new button called create assignment. You can use anything

in your content library or collaboration space to create an assignment. Let's go ahead and click on it.

Notice that these fields are pre-populated based on the

information from the OneNote page itself but can be updated however you like.

The title will appear in the Assignment's list in my course, and the discretion will appear there as well.

I'll choose a due date and I also have the option to add in a time as well.

Setting the date and time will ensure that this assignment is included in my

course calendar inside Microsoft teams.

The page will then get's copied to each student's private notebook as well.

Once you are done, go ahead and click create button.

Let's go check out what this looks like in my course. You see a new assignment notification posted

inside Microsoft teams along with the due dates. If I click on the assignment I

can see the details inside that I created earlier in OneNote, the title

description due date and time are all here.

The assignment appears on the calendar as well which helps my

students keep track of their assignments due date.

Step 4: review and submit grades.

Once students have completed their assignments I can go back

and review and grade their student work right inside of OneNote.

After I click the review student work button I'll check the box to enter in their grades.

Here I can enter in a score for each student as I click on the

students names it takes me directly to their submission inside their private notebooks.

After grade all the student, I'll go ahead and click submit.

These grades will sync directly up with my Microsoft team's

assignment gradebook and are easy to update.

Now we can see that the scores I just entered inside my grade book inside OneNote are live

inside the assignment tile inside Microsoft teams

In March of 2008, two of my former students, Mike and Taylor, invited my family to go spelunking

in Spanish Moss Cave.

The initial descent is a corkscrew-shaped crack in the rocks

which twists downward for 15 to 20 feet

before it finally opens into the domed roof of the cave.

The return trip was harder than the descent.

We clambered back up to the domed room,

but the real challenge remained.

This time we would be climbing up with the assistance of ascenders

instead of dropping effortlessly down.

I gathered myself and continued up the remaining visible length of rope

until the top ascender would move no further.

Fear took hold of me and I had neither the strength nor the fortitude to let go.

Every muscle in my body shook,

and I began to contemplate what living in a cave might be like.

In this panic-stricken state, I heard Mike talking above me.

He was telling me to relax, to stay calm,

giving me instructions on where to reach.

I could not see any suitable handholds,

so I told Mike,

"I cannot do this."

I remember hearing some movement above me,

then Mike telling me to take his hand.

"You're just going to pull me up one handed?"

"Sure," he said confidently.

Looking up again, I was seized with the realization

that I really didn't want to stay in that cave forever.

I wanted to go home.

This awareness gave me the courage to trust Mike and reach for his hand.

One moment I was dangling from the dome,

and the next I was wedged into the crevice

still clinging to one ascender with my free hand.

I could finally relax my arms.

Perhaps you would have fared better than I did in Spanish Moss Cave,

but we all at one time or other will be in a situation

where our strength or knowledge or skill—or perhaps even our desire—is not enough.

These are the times that your Savior pulls you up out of the darkness

if you will let go and take His hand.

I asked Mike recently

whether he was ever concerned about getting me out of the cave that day.

Without even thinking about the answer,

he replied, "No, there is always a way.

"Sometimes it's 5% me and 95% the other person.

"Somtimes its 99% me and 1% the other person.

"But I know I can work with whatever the person has to give."

Our Savior is the same.

He can work with whatever you have to give,

if you're willing to accept His help.
