My Top 5 Solutions to Fix Warframe's Content Drought Right Now - Duration: 9:33.

Ahoy thar, Legion!

If you've been playin' Warframe as much as we have this year, you might-a noticed that

content drought's been goin' on strong!

2018, the year of our Lotus,

which has been lovingly coined as The Year of Cosmetics by muh boi Mr. Buros,

and that's about spot on, I says!

Now I'm not here to complain

...today.

I uh, basically did that in my last video, but this one though!

This one is all about bein' positive and providing helpful suggestions to DE on possible ways

to fix the current content drought and how to prevent them from happening again in the

future.

First off, let's start with the obvious suggestion:

1.

Release more content

In a perfect universe this would be the only thing on the list,

and with a snap of our fingers the content would double.

And perfectly balanced, as all things should be.

While it's the most direct suggestion it's also the most simplistic.

And if all my years gaming have taught me anything,

it's that simplistic is still way too complex for most developers XD

So let's break it down in detail for em! Just in case.

How can they realistically release more content faster?

Back in the day Warframe was a bit similar to, you guessed it!

Minecraft.

Which *is* an odd mental image for some I'm sure.

But if fans of both may recall, in the beginning we'd get nice numbered updates with a chunk

of changes and new goodies to mess around with.

After awhile those would get stale and usually not too long after we'd get another update

to reset the clock and start the process over again.

Those were good times and that's not just muh nostalgia glasses speaking!

Long story short they both evolved into doing ultra-bitesized patches or snapshots and left

the real content to have much longer distances between updates than previously.

While behind the scenes this may benefit the company, from the player's perspective this

is the opposite of improvement.

We want more content, not less.

And this isn't even limited to the current landscape feature on Venus.

To quote the greatest Sage of Memes:

"Our problem isn't that there's a content drought because they are working on fortuna.

Our problem is that there's a content drought because they are working on fortuna

and there is nothing to do in the mean time."

How can DE focus on large projects and still find ways to keep players entertained and

loggin in?

2.Tactical Alerts and Weekend Events

Another staple old school Warframe utilized was not only releasing content nimbly,

but packing sometimes hastily thrown together tactical alerts and weekend events to keep

players glued to their keyboards.

I mean, Captura with Ivara, Ember, Nova and Valkyr still manage to do that extremely technically

but we're not talking about solo activities here!

These events encouraged everyone to chime in and had some odd modifiers to boot.

Only a certain weapon type was allowed or all the enemies were replaced with manics.

Or even more frightening: nullifiers!

The challenge involved, the limited time to run them, and usually rare rewards all factored

in to really boost player engagement.

While not requiring effort on DE's part it made players try extra hard to login before the

event ran it's course.

These weren't large orchestrated events like Alad verses Anyo,

just simple things thrown together with usually pre-existing enemies, objectives, and locations.

But how are we going to get these events, ya might be wondering?

3.

Dedicated Dev Squads

Update 16 brought with it

Teshin: THE CONCLAVE

and quite surprisingly, a dedicated PvP balance team.

If you scrolled the patch notes for years after that update you'd see endless tweaks

and changes to anything related to pvp.

For a game all but focused on PvE, this was an... interesting choice.

But good news is if they were willing to let a group dedicate themselves to something only

a fraction of the playerbase ever touched,

we got pretty decent odds they'd be willing to have the same amount of people work on

planning these events that'll keep the vast bulk of their playerbase entertained during

the wake large content updates tend to create!

Now this might show the age of some folk watching,

but back in the day it was quite common in MMOs for monthly events to be held by community managers

that were entirely run in-game, so no special tools were required.

They found ways to make it work, make it fun, and the loot was often procured themselves.

There were other more regular events held weekly like best outfit or dueling tournaments,

stuff like that.

Luckily we've come a long way since then, but the point bein' even without access to

tools, creativity can find a way.

And, no pressure, but if you've watched any of the livestreams Warframe officially airs

on their channel,

you'll note each of those lovely ladies all have a title of community coordinator, manager,

or community director and live ops.

Now I could be wrong, but that sounds like the perfect group to be running that sort

of thing to me.

Not to say they'd be the only people running it, but at the least they can pick some ideas

out of the community they manage and pass that along to someone who can plug those modifiers

in and there we go,

A coordinated event between community and moderators that

they can even stream the event on their respective shows they host.

Speakin' of dedicated teams, DE can cover a lot more ground and faster

if instead of focusing on the single most important issue at the top of the stack,

one at a time,

maybe some preventative maintenance should be in order, so little issues buried in the

pile of suggestions don't progress into big problems that demand their attention in the

long run.

Number 4: Fixing old and forgotten content

If DE is set on taking awhile to make big set piece, time-intensive updates,

it would be beneficial and actually work in tandem with their goals of improved quality

if they simply dusted off old content and polished common, long-standing issues the

game has had over the years.

The scary reality of the situation for the developers is:

to drop everything to work on old content isn't gonna draw in new players

and risks actively scaring away the current ones who are already dealin' with the

content drought as it is.

On the other side, to solely work on the newest, greatest content is to let infrastructure

go unattended

and minor cracks eventually become massive structural weaknesses.

Instead of jumpin' from one extreme to the next, I suggest they continue the full speed ahead on the current

update plans but allow a small group of 'dusters' to tidy up any long-lingering cobwebs.

In essence, if it takes ages to make something brand new on the high concept side of things,

why not expend far less energy by tackling tiny tweaks and dusting off what used to be

the shiny New Thing

that was inevitably left on a shelf to make way for the next New Thing shortly after?

It wouldn't require tons of elbow grease or data sheets, going back to revive and fix

old content is a very frequent player request so in tandem with new content also on the

way it would please errbody.

And heck Pablo is lauded for being THE guy who reworks older, underpowered frames.

If just one guy can reliably do that, there's gotta be a ton of people on staff just as

useful and willing to spruce up the place.

And don't forget,

Pablo's field of expertise is UI,

so there is no limitation or qualification on who can do what.

If they are interested, gotta knack for it and have the time available, let em have a

crack at it I says.

So in theory you got the main focus of the entire office aimin' at the heavy lifting

of new content,

a small squad incharge of events and tactical alerts to keep things exciting during the wait

and another tiny troop of dedicated dusters who are in charge of general maintenance of

older content and long forgotten player bug reports.

Assuming that's firing at least on half cylinders, that's a pretty nice cluster of efficiency

and productivity from my perspective.

Which leaves the final suggestion which is as simple as the first on this list, but no

less impactful on the morale of the entire player pool of the game:

5.

Stick to release dates.

Once they are announced, DE should always, always follow through and make good on a release date.

I've seen some suggest a solution to avoid missing release dates is to just

not announce them in the first place, but that is a tragic mistake in my opinion.

To quote the classic film Dodgeball:

"I've found that if you have a goal you may not reach it.

But, if you don't have one then you're never disappointed, and I gotta tell you..

It feels phenomenal."

The joke therein of course being the guy saying that is...

I won't say lazy, but he's rather relaxed.

By avoiding release dates, and this applies to any game company by the way,

it might shield you from potential negative comments, but it all but ensures that delays

and day one patches become an integral part of your design process.

As any content creator is aware, you have in theory unlimited time to make something and if allow

ourselves to keep perfecting each upload, the video will never be released.

It's this vicious cycle we've been seeing in some big youtubers on extended vacations.

See if this similar to Warframe at all to you:

The time between content is so long large feel the need to do something big to make up for it

which then takes longer to produce than they're used to,

naturally they find more things that need perfecting which adds more wait time so they find even

more things to add to counter-act that delay,

and thus the vicious cycle of continues

when in the end their fans just want some bloody content already!

But I digress.

Of course these are just this simple Rhino's suggestions on how to solve n' avoid future

content droughts.

Razer Phone 2 hands-on: A glass back and RGB logo - Duration: 11:15.

hey peace world fans Adam Patrick Murray with Gordon mom hey so and here I have

the razor phone too Oh nope that's the razor phone one this is the razor phone

too you can tell by the RGB logo all right

Gordon we got the razor phone too here there are a lot of the awesome things

that are the same I don't know looks a square box it looks the same but they

completely redesigned it but you still got the same awesome speakers got the

dual amps got the 120 Hertz screen still 5.7 16 by 9 because that's the the right

way to do it with traditional content but on the back it's different you got

you got the glass so the the glass enables a couple things that it enables

the new Qi charging dock that we have right here you just place it on here and

you get a nice right nice little light up RGB on them it starts to an RGB dance

so it's charging yeah I guess if you get if you land the phone wrong a lot of

these if you have one of these charging phones and you miss it tells you you

missed and it'll start blinking red but it looks like it's a pretty big pad here

I'm not missing underside yeah nice so also because of the glass had enabled

RGB lighting on the the logo obviously last year's model had the nice the nice

shiny logo here maybe you were lucky enough to get the special green one but

you've got full RGB and this is enabled by going into the the new chroma app

here so you can pick between breathing static spectrum obviously you can change

the colors even the brightness it actually gets pretty dim which can help

something on the on battery I'm going to flip it around you change colors prove

it's RGB there Adam that's that's proved let's let's get up here in the red let

me change the brightness all the way to max that's pretty bright yeah I'm gonna

change it back to green though cuz we're at reason yeah

let me go down here and that's very subtle right yeah only and the

notification get those does that change during notifications it changes during

notifications let's see you can set to breathing obvious RGB you know all this

all this fun stuff let's go back but yeah you can have notifications turn

on/off you can tell how much battery you want it to consume if you're worried

about battery life but I got to tell you with the the same four thousand milliamp

battery is the first one I'm not too worried about the battery I think it's

gonna last even with the RGB lighting anything better yeah so yeah I mean even

though it looks the same in a lot of ways the they've changed it a lot about

the internals once you tell me a little bit about the cooling because in the

original model it had the two heat pipes I remember from jerry-rigged

everything's teardown that that he showed those off right and here you got

a new vapor chamber chamber same thing you're seeing a lot of the advanced GPUs

r-tx has it previous generations you've course had a RZR basically says you know

what we're you need you need to keep the SOC cool to get more performance to get

more frame rates to get more clocks so we went from dual heat pipes in the

original RAZR phone to basically a heat pipe that's almost the entire back of

the phone I keep calling you he pipe a vapor chamber that's almost the size of

the entire phone and what a vapor chamber does is it helps wick that heat

out from where the CPU is which is sort of near where the Razer logo is across

the entire flat vapor chamber and you gotta remember this is a huge

engineering problem this is not a PC there are no fans on her there's no way

to exhaust the heat so what the best you can do is sort of disperse it and then

let it sort of build you know go ahead dissipate it on its own so by putting

this vapor chamber in here over the previous heat pipes Razer is saying they

should be able to kick the ass of most other 845 probably all the other 845

that is a big difference phones on them good previous razor one Snapdragon 835

new one 8:45 well they're saying over the 8:35 from last year 20 to 30% more

power B not not only on the process but also because of the cooling performance

EO that's pretty decent Matt wow that's good willing a lot of that's from that

vapor chamber and also they're saying yeah you can play a game for a long time

in this phone and not have it start to slow down some of these phones you know

you leave it on your dashboard you play a game POC rates drop frame rates drop

so even though it's the it seems like the same panel it's actually brighter we

did some side-by-side testing and yeah it's definitely brighter DCP yeah III

ip3 yeah thank you the other big news what oh the Netflix

HD our Dolby Digital 5.1 termination listen the all the content on the

original phone sounded and looked great but now it looks even better I'm not

worried about the new stuff that's happening here so a couple of the things

that I want to talk about that that I was a little disappointed by last year's

model the first one was the camera so as you as you can see they kind of changed

the location of the camera they switched from Samsung to Sony sensors some new

glass even though the the specs were the same everything under the hood has

changed even the camera app has been redesigned with a little nicer layout so

you got oh is on the wide but not on the telephoto unfortunately but hopefully

you know I'll put it through its paces but I definitely want to see how it

performs especially since last year's models dead it's a little short fellow

short the other thing was the the the vibration motor that the happy haptic

feedback I had some real problems with this unit it sounded like a like like

there was Mexican jumping beans inside it but this one I can already say it's

it's an upgrade it not only not only does it feel more nuanced it's not as

loud and it's not gonna really rattle around on the mid disk so

I'm excited about that once again the specs he said the the 845

chipset has been upgraded the selectable frame rates too right so that's actually

pretty nice I don't think I've seen that in most other phones there's like a you

can actually basically in your game select what clocks be you you went to

the processor too right yeah so it's separate from the actual screen itself

just like last year you can go in here and depending on how you wanted battery

life to to work you got 69 days and 128 different forward but for the actual

game performance you can go into the new app right here the razor oh man I've

missed the name what was the name raise your cortex that's what it is

cortex oh yeah you know you viewed on the game yeah you can change it

system-wide or you can go in here and change each game not only to the the

speed of the CPU but you've got the resolution it'll play at the framerate

and it even has more options than what's at the system level which is nice and

then you've got anti-aliasing Racer will recommend kind of optimal or optimal

settings based on the game but you know you can obviously just should just go

full tilt if that's your thing and I know that's probably how I'm gonna do it

so yeah we know we've got games loaded up here I'm gonna save these and like

you can see per per game you can even go in there and change how you want

everything to be laid out so that's pretty awesome

I think it's rationale is if you want a game if the game doesn't really need

those high clock speed you can crank it down and get a little more battery life

out of it I'm guessing I mean I would say even even with the games that

weren't optimized for the high refresh rate screen it I still always left it in

performance mode ish because you get a benefit out of it and I mean you still

feel that at the system level just set that smooth scrolling I just love to sit

here and just open up the dock or open up the tray it just it just feels good

the original phone did it support micro SD

I just bought a brand new SD card so I want to know yeah you're what 414 is

that gonna work in this phone yes yes and then we got the the two-slit SIM

trays I mean that this thing just like last year's version is packed to the

gills I mean it's designed for gaming it's designed for that that cool razor

look fit within the ecosystem of the laptop and the headphones and I think

this new phone is definitely going to fit in right along with it I am gonna

miss the the all-metal design just because I'm butterfingers I'm worried a

little bit about the glass but it is still the coolest roller Glass 3 on the

back Gorilla Glass 5 on the front yeah so I'm not I'm not gonna drop it here to

test it but it should should hold up and you know I got used to the fingerprint

reader on the side actually kind of liked it well cuz I guess I'll make

sense cuz you're gonna hold the phone like this right yeah

yeah then you can draw or if it was the the thumb on the right side yeah that

works it's not really a it's not a it's not a bad place when all in fact it's

pretty good and I don't know I I like the glass and you know as a gamer RGB

you got have our G you have to have RGB it makes a game faster it's the

clinically-proven desert Oh check this out - look on the dock no price on this

dock no press on the dock then a bummer but hey you want to leave it flat you

can do that - nice up there you go so and plug it backs in it whoops

who knows so even though even though at first blush it doesn't look too

different right the I mean from from the inside out it has been redesigned with

that that meticulous razor design language that we've come to love so

around it and curve yeah I'm excited to get one in and keep testing it so

obviously you can take pre-orders today for $7.99 and then it'll launch sometime

soon we don't know quite yet but uh keep it locked to PC world for more coverage

on it and then definitely review them yeah I'm excited to try it out so I'm

really interested in seeing if that vapor chamber holds up take a high end

other phone make this see which one is running fastest after

means a gaming yeah yeah well we'll get a deep dive into thermals we'll get your

your FLIR yeah yeah out for the thermal testing so yeah that that's it that's
