Draw My Life - Motoki Maxted - Duration: 7:03.

Hey what's good everyone, it's Motoki and this is my draw my life video.

Even though I've been making videos for years now I never made one of these so I figured

eh why not.

On December 3rd, 1996 I was born in the state of Ohio.

which this weird looking state in the middle-ish of the united states, it's pretty cool I guess.

Before I was born, I had a life expectancy of only 20% but luckily it worked out and

I'm here today.

My mom told me I was so big as a baby that right after I was born the nurse told her

that I looked like a sumo wrestler which is a bit racist but you know whatever I guess.

I should mention that my mom is Japanese and my dad is white, they we're both english

teachers and ended up meeting each other in Japan after they were assigned to work on

a project together.

I know right so cute.

Anyways, in addition to my mom and dad when I was born I had an older brother, and sister.

But before my parents had us, they made a pact that one day when they had kids, they

would have them experience both of their home countries.

And that's exactly what happened, after 4 years of living in Ohio my family and I

flew over to Japan to start a whole new life.

I had to learn Japanese, make new friends, and live in an entirely different country

that I didn't know anything about.

Luckily, I caught on pretty fast though and it ended up being a great time.

The only problem I ever had was when I occasionally got bullied in school for being the white kid.

The school I went to didn't have any other foreigners so naturally, some kids thought

it would be fun to pick on the weird pale kid.

From an early age I was forced to learn that despite what I looked like or what people

said about me, I was still going to be the same person so I stopped caring so much what

others thought.

I lived in Japan for about 3 years before moving back to Ohio.

But instead of moving back to where I was born we lived across the state a really

small town that didn't have much going on.

The most exciting thing to do in the whole town was go to Walmart, and that says a lot.

Moving back to America was a bit difficult.

Not too bad or anything but I had to relearn English which I had completely forgotten because

by the time I moved back, I was speaking and even thinking in only Japanese.

Even though my teacher told my parents that I might have to stay back a grade, I caught

up pretty fast and luckily, didn't have to.

I had a lot of fun as a kid, I ended up joining a small group of friends who were great, I

played baseball and soccer and had great time.

I did sometimes get made fun of for being the only Asian looking kid but that kinda

got old.

When I was in grade school, I wanted to be an actor.

Whenever I watched movies or tv shows with younger actors, I was super jealous and always

wanted to be just like them because I thought they were so cool.

I even started acting in all of the school plays that I could.

Around middle school I found this website called YouTube where I saw these hilarious

YouTubers called Ryan Higa and Kevin Wu, also known as nigahiga and KevJumba.

I thought that they were so funny and awesome, and I instantly wanted to make videos like them.

So one day I got a group a friends together and we filmed probably one of the worst videos

to ever ever be created but I had such a fun time.

I'm glad I never posted it on YouTube though, I was actually a couple years under YouTube's

age requirement of being 13 which I know a lot of people don't pay attention to but

at the time I thought that somehow they'd figure it out and put me in jail or something

I don't know.

High school came along and I joined theater, speech, joined a bunch of clubs, became VP

of my class, played soccer, And got involved in the church that my dad was a pastor in.

Although I enjoyed a lot of what I did, after a couple years, I ended up dropping most of

it after realizing I was doing them just to please my parents.

Which is why I tried so hard to get good grades and do all the extracurriculars.

I think that this is one the reasons why to this day I feel so self conscious whenever

doing anything because I'm afraid of letting people down.

While all this was happening in high school I started posting occasional videos on my

youtube channels and they started getting some views and subscribers which I thought

was like the coolest thing ever.

This motivated me and I started having big hopes for my future.

I told myself that one day, I'm going to live in Los Angeles and pursue a career in

the entertainment industry.

Which was great and all but for someone living in a small town in Ohio, I didn't know if

that was even remotely realistic but I didn't care.

I should also mention that sometime around here I started to date a girl, we'll call her, Barbara.

It was your typical young high school relationship I guess, I fell head over heels for Barbara,

we had some good times.

However, we didn't see eye to eye on a lot of things and looking back, it wasn't a

healthy relationship.

I moved away to LA for college which was my dream come true.

But because of that, long distance didn't work out, we lost feelings for each other,

and after a year together we broke up.

And for me at the time, it was hard, I wasn't really ready for things to end and she started

seeing someone else right after which just made me feel terrible about myself.

To keep my mind off things I stayed busy with my college work where I studied film and tv

production.

Soon after I met some of the coolest I know and I don't know what I would have done

without them.

They made me feel confident and happy which pushed me to make YouTube videos again even

though I had practically stopped.

From there I started to push myself to see where this whole online video thing could

take me.

Seeing other people who had made it their full-time job, inspired me to see if I could

do that myself.

Sadly, not everyone was for that as much as I was.

Like most parents, mine, don't really understand the whole online world so well.

And to this day, they still don't fully understand what I do.

They know that I make videos but it's hard for them to grasp that it's not just some

weird little hobby but that there is more to it.

And as much as it hurts me to say, on many occasions through the years, my mom has told

me that she thinks my videos are stupid.

She's told me that they're a waste of my time and how she thinks there's no value

in them.

It's rough having one of the people you trust the most tell you how pointless they

think your passion is.

My dad is a little more carefree when it comes to my endeavors and my mom has gotten a bit

better over time.

What I've had to come to understand is that she would only say those things to me because

it was her way of trying to look out for me and her way of showing she was worried about

my future.

I love my parents, they've done so much for me and I will forever be grateful for

that.

I joke a lot in my videos about how I'm such a disappoint to them but honestly, I

think that's just my way of coping with the fear that I'll let them down somehow.

And that pretty much brings us up to speed to where I am today.

I'm only 20 so this draw my life is still a work in a progress.

I'm still working on videos, which is super dope.

Luckily for me, I have people like you all who watch them so thank you so much.

Thanks for helping me have a reason to smile each and every day knowing that there are

people out there who believe in me.

I'm not sure what my future looks like but who does right?

I'm still in college right now, not really sure if I'll finish though, there's a lot

that I want to work on and pursue full-time but I can't because it's impossible to

do everything.

I'm looking forward to what's to come and I can't wait to take you all with me.

Listen I don't think I'm someone to look up to at all or anything but if there's

anything I want you to take from this, it's that you can do whatever you want to do.

Don't shut others out, but ultimately, do what you want to do, if it's what will make

you happy.

Don't let anyone tell you that you can't do something because YOU make that decision.

If you live your whole life trying to please others or worrying what people will think

of you, you're not living.

Anyways, thanks so much again for watching, it means a lot to me.

Hope you have a great day.

What is ACI? - Duration: 6:22.

[Upbeat music]

I guess what I would like to show

Is um, for most of my life I've been a

My favorite part of ACI was to get to know

other people who are autistic as well.

Personally I think like being there, being

here and actually experiencing and seeing

other autistic people is just really

awesome.

I've never been in a place where

I've connected with people so quickly and

just been understood and that has been a

really really incredible experience.

Learning how to just be in the adult

world, also learning how to have some

sort of agency.

You have a community of autistic people

and like disabled people and

neurodivergent people and everything

I really liked being in a huge group of

autistic people instead of just you know

being the only one in my group.

I'm here to find myself and also to

have better leadership skills how to

advocate more effectively being a

little bit more self assured, a little

more confident.

after this week I feel a lot more

confident of myself as an autistic person.

And I feel like I am in the right place.

We learned about how to organize

the goals that we have so that we can

actually get things accomplished.

Because a lot of the things that I wanted

to accomplish it felt too big for me so

now they feel a lot more manageable.

And we also learned how to leverage

social media in a meaningful way.

With here, with ACI what I learned is it

is really important for me to become a

better leader and to be able to educate

others.

I like learning how to like

navigate politics and just sort of

being a part of that process.

To be honest you know the School House

Rock I really had no idea how it works

you know how you get a bill to actually be

passed by you know by actual methods and

so of like a way to bring advocacy into

learning how to be in the adult world

We, you're active, you move as a group.

And in the room, and you can commit and

like accomplish great things that can

help pass along information about

some biz, biz that we don't want and

some biz that we do want that

will help everyone.

knowing that it's important to

continually instill that history, to

continually learn about that history and

also continue making that history.

Like spreading awareness and what's

important.

To also spread acceptance.

We learned about the history of the

disability rights movement and the

history of the neurodiversity movement

and I also liked the discussions about

autistic culture because I think that's

something that isn't discussed enough and

that I would really like to build on.

Before I came to ACI I thought that to be

a leader you had to have a certain kind

of personality and that was one that I

didn't have.

I didn't think that I, as

someone with a disability, could change

anything, and now that I've been around

all these other people that share my views

and I've learned how to effectively

communicate what I feel about these issues

there isn't any use in being sad.

Had some sessions on things like policy

making and planning, some networking,

things like that.

I really liked when we had dinner with

professionals and getting to meet

notable people.

I went to speak to the

staff people of Senator Barbra Boxer

and senator Diane Feinstien.

We talked to the congressional

representatives, to disabled professionals

and knowing what their experiences were

like.

We're pretty fortunate we went

out for dinner last night and you know,

we didn't care what people thought and

we were pretty loud but we were talking

about our special interests so much.

My favorite part of ACI was whenever I got

an opportunity to talk in smaller groups

because I felt like I was able to get to

know each other better that way.

I really

liked the community and how everyone

was openly being themselves.

The most interesting session for me was

definitely the one about student

communities and groups.

I'm planning on going back to my home town

and start an ASAN chapter.

I'm going to definitely be more active be

a leader in my my community.

You know

be the change that I want to see.

to change the attitudes toward autism

so that hopefully it can improve the

ethics and improve the research quality

and I think that's just really helpful.

We have an organization that exists on

campus but I often deal with tokenism

because I'm the only person of color

in that organization.

I want people to not

feel invalidated, Like if they're autistic

or not autistic enough.

It's really

important to be open about your identity

I'm going to take what I've learned about

social activism and disability rights back

to my campus.

Eventually I would like to go back to my

campus and start a cross disability

coalition.

absolutely I would recommend ACI to

other autistic college students

I definitely would.

Oh yeah yes totally.

Yeah definitely.

I've learned a lot, there's like a whole

breadth of things so far I think is just

really helpful.

Regents Exam | Algebra I (Common Core) | August 2016 | Problem 2 - Duration: 4:01.

Regents Exam Algebra I August 2016 problem number 2.

The solution of an equation with two variables, x and y, is

In this problem we need to determine which of the 4 statements given is true.

We can figure out this problem by systematically going through each of the possible answers

and logically determine which one is correct or at the very least completes the statement.

Let's start with the first option, the set of all x values that make y equal to 0.

Recall that an equation is a mathematical statement that says that two expressions are

equal to one another.

When determining if two expressions are equal to one another we check to make sure that

the left hand side of the equation is equal to the right hand side of the equation.

If both the left and right hand side match, then the equation is true, if the left hand

side of the equation does not match the right hand side of the equation then the equation

is false.

The set of numbers that makes an equation true are referred to as solutions of the equation.

Graphically an equation with two variables can be represented by a curve in a Cartesian

or xy-coordinate system.

When the equation is represented in this fashion any point with coordinates (x,y) that is located

on the curve is said to be a solution to the equation.

The first option for our answer reads, the set of all x values that make y equal to 0,

graphically this represents all the points located on the curve of the equation that

crosses the x-axis in other words these points are the x-intercepts of the equation, although

this is technically a solution to the equation since the point is located on the curve and

also makes the equation true, this is a particular solution from the many other solutions that

this equation possesses.

So the first option is not completely accurate.

The second option is very similar to the first option in this case the statement reads the

set of all y values that make x equal to 0.

Graphically this will represent all the points where the equation of the curve crosses the

y-axis in other words these points are the y-intercepts of the equation.

Again similar to the first option there are many more solutions then just these particular

set of points.

Option 3 reads the set of all ordered pairs, (x,y), that make the equation true.

This statement says that the solution to an equation is going to be the set of all points

(x,y) that make the equation true in other words the set of all points that are located

on the curve of the equation.

This statement accurately describes the definition of a solution to an equation so option 3 seems

to be the correct answer.

Before we decide to choose this option as our answer let's take a look at option 4.

This option reads the set of all ordered pairs, (x,y), where the graph of the equation crosses

the y-axis.

This statement is essentially the same as that of option 2 it is stating that the solution

to an equation are the y-intercepts, again these are not the only points that make the

equation true, you also have all the other points located on the curve of the equation.

So option 3 fits this definition.

Sunday Morning Drive- Hakosuka Skyline - Happy New Year and My Car Resolution! - Duration: 4:50.

Happy New Year Everyone!!

I am sending my New Year wishes from here near Los Angeles.

I wish everyone a very good 2017!!

With a new year comes many new things...

For my Hakosuka, the new year has brought something new too!

I just got my special order "vintage" California license plate..

I special ordered this plate...

and it finally arrived yesterday!

California vintage black plates "HAKO GTR"

I love it!!!

Let's bolt it on and go for a New Year's Sunday morning drive!

American license plates are smaller than Japanese plates.

I drilled two wider holes in the plate earlier this morning in order to make it fit.

What do you think?

That looks pretty cool in my opinion!

A new year is an opportunity to set some goals and resolutions.

For me, I am making a resolution to focus more on this car.

I've done some stuff to this car, but still have a lot of things to do.

I haven't shared with you yet what is really going on...

Take a look at this...

The wiring in this car is a huge mess!!!

A cool old car just drove by!!

I've had a lot of electrical problems with this car lately.

In fact, I haven't been driving it much because of the wiring issues.

That makes me sad but motivates me to fix what needs to done.

Old cars typically have old messy wiring...

You have 40 years of dry wire...

40 plus years of people adding and removing accessories...

There are so many wires here that have been cut and spliced... it's a horrible mess!

In order to keep a car nice for a long time, it's not just the things you can easily see that require repair...

Old wiring is one of those things that can really cause trouble in a nicely restored car.

This year I will upgrade the wiring in this car with a new harness kit.

Another thing I will accomplish is finishing this interior.

I've been wanting to refinish the interior already, but just haven't found the time yet...

I apologize for making excuses...

But this year this car will see a new interior for sure!

I love this car! I really do!

Add a squealing engine belt to the list of stuff to repair! LOL

I pledge to you my Hakosuka that I will spend more time on you this year..

That is one of my New Year resolutions!

See you soon and have a good year everyone!!!

Video: Rain/ice may create messy commute - Duration: 1:59.

WE ARE NOT

REALLY CONCERNED WITH THAT.

AS I TAKE YOU THROUGH THE OVER

MIGHT AND INTO EARLY TOMORROW

YOU CAN SEE THE TEMPERATURES

ARE SHOWING 34 AND 34 AND 33.

THERE IS CERTAINLY ROOM FOR

PARTS OF THIS AREA TO BE DOWN

AROUND 32 AND 31.

IF IT IS CLOUDY, NO BIG DEAL.

THE LOWER PART OF THE

ATMOSPHERE WILL GRADUALLY GET

MORE SATURATED.

IT IS HARD TO SAY WHEN DRIZZLE

WILL COMMENCE.

IF IT HAPPENS EARLY THERE

COULD BE A TOUCH OF

PARKINSON'S DISEASING DRIZZLE

-- A TOUCH OF FREEZING

DRIZZLE.

THE THREAT OF ICING WILL

DIMINISH WITH TIME.

ONCE YOU GET TO VERMONT THAT'S

A DIFFERENT STORY.

THERE IS A FREEZING RAIN

ADVISORY GOING INTO EFFECT

TOMORROW MORNING INTO

WEDNESDAY MORNING.

THE TEMPERATURES HERE MAY STAY

NEAR 32 EVEN DURING THE

SOMEWHAT HEAVIER

PRECIPITATION.

ALL RIGHT FOR US, NO WARNINGS

OR ADVISORIES AT LEAST AS OF

YET.

WE ARE TELLING YOU IF YOU LIVE

IN THIS REGION, JUST BE AWARE

EARLY TOMORROW THAT A LOT OF

US HAVE BEEN OFF FROM WORK AND

SCHOOL AND WE HAVE TO GET BACK

TO THE ROUTINES.

THERE COULD BE A LITTLE OF

LOCALLY SLOW GOING.

THERE IS A LITTLE RAIN TRYING

TO MOVE UP AND IT COULD BE A

TOUCH OF DRIZZLE OR FREEZING

DRIZZLE FOR TOMORROW MORNING.

THE COMMUTE IS DAMP OR WET AND

THEN GETTING HEAVIER AS WE GO

INTO THE FIRST HALF OF

TOMORROW NIGHT.

WE WILL SEE THAT BAND OF RAIN

MOVE AWAY BY THE TIME WE GET

TO WEDNESDAY MORNING.

WE ARE NOT TOO COLD -- UNTIL

WE GET TO THE SECOND HALF OF

THE WEEK AND THEN THE COLDER

PART OF THE JET STREAM RETURNS

HERE.

YOU WILL NOTICE A DEFINITE

DROP OF TEMPERATURE INTO THE

DAYLIGHT HOURS OF WEDNESDAY.

IT TURNS COLDER ON WEDNESDAY

NIGHT AND THEN RIGHT ON

THROUGH EARLY NEXT WEEK.

NOW, THERE WILL BE A LITTLE

WAVE OF LOW PRESSURE THAT WILL

SKIRT CLOSE ENOUGH THAT WILL

GIVE IT A LIGHT TOUCH OR

FLURRY.
