Waching daily Mar 27 2017

The additional tax liability bullshit deciding what you drive is over.

Everyone pays the same additional tax liability.

That's why the differences between fun cars and less fun cars are smaller.

A bigger engine or cool options don't cost that much extra.

That's why a car like this is interesting again.

We're driving the Volkswagen Golf GTD.

We're going to find out if you need to buy this car if you drive too many miles for a GTI.

Let's be honest. A Golf GTI is fun, but the fuel consumption is high.

Getting 1:11 (26 mpg) is not bad.

A diesel engine should do better.

Volkswagen gives some numbers for this car, but we looked at the pre-facelift model.

Its fuel consumption is about 1:15 (35 mpg). That saves 4 km per liter.

That's nice. The fuel is cheaper as well, so you save a lot.

Your boss probably likes that too if you drive a lot of miles.

You recognize a GTI by its big rims, cool bumpers, etc.

The same goes for the GTD. The facelifted version too has sportier bumpers than the normal Golf

and some other details. LED headlights and taillights are standard.

The LED taillights are standard on the new Golf, but these are a darker red to show it's not a regular Golf.

There's still distinct from a 1.0 or 1.5 driven by normal people.

A number of accents are different and the interior is cooler with good sport seats.

We know the checkered upholstery from the Golf GTI.

It's a cool car to see. The ultimate GTI thing in the interior is the golfball shifter.

It's black, but it has the dents. That's fun; a finishing touch.

It makes you feel you're driving something special. Volkswagen did that well.

The looks and interior give you that special feeling you get from a GTI, but does it handle like a GTI?

To be honest, no. It doesn't.

That's logical. A diesel engine has a different character and the GTD has less power. It has less hp.

181 hp, which is a lot less than the new GTI. That one has 227 hp. That's a lot less.

It does have more torque. It has 380 Nm (280 lb ft) torque, whereas the GTI has only 350 Nm (258 lb ft).

This makes it a little better.

This car is really quick and it feels feisty, especially in Sport mode.

The adaptive suspension does different things.

When exiting a corner and you hit the throttle, a GTI accelerates, but the GTD could use more bite.

This may be caused by this transmission, the 6-speed manual.

A 7-speed DSG is optional.

The 6-speed manual transmission has a short gear ratio, quickly outrevving the power band.

It goes through its revs quickly. Not much happens over 4,500 rpm.

You have to shift quickly. You miss... this.

I'm nitpicking, though. In the end it's a quick car and nice to drive.

The suspension is sportier. It's the same idea as a GTI suspension, but playing it safe.

The GTI does this too. It's not as exciting and playful as a Mégane RS.

You're not looking for that when buying a car like this, though.

Concluding, is this the diesel GTI?

It lacks performance, especially in the engine, compared to the GTI.

However, this is well compensated by the lower fuel consumption and cheaper fuel.

That makes you happier, as well as your boss if he gave you a fuel card.

This car is a fun ride. The sound generator amplifies the sound inside, but it's quiet outside.

It stands out less, which is a good thing. You can do what you want without people getting angry.

This is a stealth GTI.

Malaysian police visit N. Korean embassy in Kuala Lumpur to investigate Kim Jong-nam's murder - Duration: 2:01.

Malaysian police reportedly entered the North Korean Embassy to question the suspects...

thought to be involved in the killing of Kim Jong-nam.

Meanwhile local media reports there are plans to pass his remains over to the regime.

Lee Unshin updates us on the investigations into the murder of North Korean leader's half

brother.

The remains of Kim Jong-nam, North Korean Leader Kim Jong-un's estranged half-brother,

who was murdered last month...are said to have been cremated and will be returned to

Pyongyang, according to Malaysian local reports Monday.

Kim's body is said to have been moved from the National Forensic Institute at the Kuala

Lumpur Hospital to a crematorium the day before.

A local source now says that the remains will be handed to Pyongyang envoys who are visiting

the country for secret talks with Malaysian authorities.

On Sunday, Malaysian police visited the North Korean embassy in Kuala Lumpur in relation

to the assassination of Kim.

According to China Press, a Malaysian Chinese-language newspaper,... four police officers investigating

the case entered the embassy to take statements from the suspects allegedly involved in the

murder.

The investigation of the three suspects including Hyon Kwang-song, a second secretary at the

embassy,... lasted two-and-a-half hours.

The visit comes as North Korean authorities have been protecting the three suspects and

refusing to cooperate with the probe.

Kim was killed in mid-February from being smeared in the face with VX nerve agent at

Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

As part of the on-going probe, Malaysian officials named a number of North Korean suspects believed

to be behind Kim's murder...however, Pyongyang has denied any involvement.

So far two Southeast Asian women, a Vietnamese and an Indonesian have been charged with the

murder.

The Malaysian Health Minister said however, through local media outlet the New Straits

Times, that the investigation will continue regardless of the two nations reaching an

agreement over the handling of Kim's body.

Teach a Dog to Drop It - Get polite mouth control with Tug - Duration: 7:32.

Today we're talking about how to teach your dog to release things in their mouth.

Whatever you're doing right now—DROP IT!—and watch this video.

Ian here with Simpawtico Dog Training and before we take a closer look at Drop It, please

make sure you're subscribed so you never miss any of our videos.

Also, don't forget to check us out on all the major social networks so we can get better

acquainted.

And don't forget to check that YouTube description for notes, links and resources about the stuff

we talked about.

Now, in one of our previous videos we looked at the first two pieces of mouth control,

which were Take It and Leave It.

I highly recommend you check out that video too so you can really get all three working

together.

As I said in that video, Take It, Leave It, and Drop it form what I call the Holy Trinity

of mouth control...if you can get those three things dialed in to a high degree, it has

a sort of cascade effect on your dog's manners and makes life so much more pleasant.

There's no more diving for food on the floor, no more gobbling up your fingers when you

hand them food or a toy.

You also get great, polite play sessions even when the dog is jazzed up.

Plus, playing teaching games like tug and fetch burn off energy and give your dog mental

stimulation.

These are also gateways to teaching come, getting offered attention, and immensely improving

your handling skills.

Let's look at Drop It so you understand how we're working here.

Drop It teaches the dog to release things that are in their mouth.

"Drop It" is different from Leave It in that it's for things the dog already has, whereas

Leave It is for something they want, but haven't gotten yet.

In the best cases Drop It is useful for games, as I mentioned.

But in the worst cases this will help you when they pick up something nasty or harmful

and you need them to release it NOW.

Drop It is best taught using Lure Reward Training.

Like all Lure Reward Trained activities, it follows a 1234 pattern:

Request, Lure, Response, Reward.

In this case that looks like this: Say "Drop It."

Lure your dog to drop it.

Your dog releases the item.

Immediately say "Yes," praise, and reward.

We're going to teach Drop It, with a toy.

In this example we're going to use an interactive toy to play tug, and we'll use the game to

teach Drop It, and improve the work with Take It.

Now, a quick note about tug.

There are STILL trainers out there and articles online that adivse you to never play tug with

your dog.

This is complete rubbish.

Tug is a fantastic game to play with your dog.

It teaches manners, mouth control, and frustration tolerance.

It burns off energy, it provides mental stimulation, and like any kind of play it builds your bond

with your dog.

However, tug is a game and like any game there are rules, and if the kids don't play by the

rules, well we don't play.

So my tug rules are very simple: You can't put your teeth on me.

You can't take the toy unless I say.

You have to let go of the toy when I say.

So let's see a couple rounds here and then we'll break it down for you.

"Drop It."

"Yes! Good boy! That's exactly how I wanted it. Good boy"

"Drop It"

"YES! Good! That was great. Good job."

All right let's look at the breakdown.

Present the tug toy.

Make sure you've taught them "Take It" and then enforce that rule so they don't just

reach out and snatch it.

"Nope."

"Take it. Good boy."

Allow your dog to take it, and then play tug for a bit. Then teach Drop it with 1234:

1) Say "Drop It."

2) Lure the dog to drop it by waggling a high-value treat in front of the nose.

Wait it out.

This may be immediate, or it may take a second.

Just wait.

3) The dog releases it.

4) Say "Yes!"

while you stick the treat in their mouth, and give huge praise.

Put the toy behind your back for the time being (don't tease them with it).

Repeat this sequence.

You're aiming for lightning fast Drop Its.

Now you could see Drake getting better as we went.

He wasn't perfect yet, but we've already kicked that upward trend into motion.

So with good consistent practice like this I have no doubt that Drake will become a pro.

With Take It, Leave It, and Drop It firmly entrenched in his brain he'll be one of the

most gentle dogs.

Play sessions should last no more than one to two minutes tops.

You want the game to always end before they've burned off too much energy to do other things,

and you always want to end on your terms, with your dog wanting more.

This will keep them in love with the game which gives you tons of opportunity to teach,

practice, and bond.

Here are some PRO TIPS for Drop It: When you say Drop It, you simply immobilize

the toy.

Don't pull on it.

Don't wiggle it back and forth.

Just keep it from moving.

Otherwise you're sending conflicting signals by keeping the game going.

Just say "Drop It" once and WAIT.

In these early stages DO NOT REPEAT YOURSELF if your dog doesn't release.

This is how they will learn.

The time between when you made the request and presented the lure, to when they actually

released the item is called "latency."

As you practice, this latency will shrink until it becomes an immediate response.

You get there through patience and repetition, not through nagging.

As the latency decreases, and that response time gets faster and faster, you will notice

that your dog starts releasing the item before the lure reaches their nose.

This is why with Lure Reward Training we say it, then lure it.

Although the lure initially causes the action to happen, the dog is soon responding reliably

and we no longer need the lure.

Also, they learn to anticipate the required action based on the word they hear.

So soon, you can say "Drop It" and NOT present the lure.

When your dog releases the item, THEN we give them a REWARD from our pocket.

See, now you don't NEED the food to get them to Drop It, and we're conditioning them to

respond to the verbal request.

Refer to our video on phasing out treats for more in-depth instruction on that part of

the process.

In this vein, as we get away from dependence on the food we can start using the continuance

of the game as the reward.

And in serious situations out in the world we probably won't have a treat with us in

most cases anyway, so that good response without food will be absolutely necessary.

The thing to remember is that Drop It is not just a parlor trick.

It's potentially life saving.

If your dog picks up something off the sidewalk, or at the park, or in the bathroom, or even

in the kitchen there could be serious consequences.

Having reliable remote control of your pooch's mouth could mean the difference between a

non-issue and spendy vet bills.

Or worse.

Incidentally, Drop It is also the command I use for leash biters.

Just remember that the moment you NEED a Drop It, is the wrong time to practice it.

Put the time in NOW so it's ready to go in that moment of crisis.

So good luck, and let me know how drop it is goes for you.

And if you have some other nifty ways to teach drop it, share them in the comments below.

Don't forget to give us a thumbs up and as always: keep learning, keep practicing, and

we'll see you next time.

Thanks for watching!

Ahoy 標誌性武器系列 - 火箭彈發射器 Rocket Launcher. 中文字幕cc - Duration: 13:40.

Who can deny the thrill of explosion?

Sudden flash giving way to earth-shaking force:

an ignition of primal sense.

The gods gave us fire - but blowing stuff up?

That was our idea.

The rocket launcher.

Ranged explosive device - and archetypal video game weapon.

So, where did the rocket launcher first enter pop culture?

How did they saturate a broad swathe of video games?

And why do some people insist on calling them bazookas?

'Every action has an equal and opposite reaction'.

Newton's Third Law: and a major limitation of conventional kinetic weapons - recoil.

One way to mitigate recoil is to allow the propellant to exert a counterforce: instead

of absorbing energy into the weapon, venting propellant gases to the rear of the shooter

balances the forward momentum of the projectile.

So-called 'recoilless rifles' operate on this principle: open tube weapons that fire large

artillery-like shells from the shoulder.

Such weapons remain in use today, and while similar to rocket launchers, they are technically

distinct.

The difference lies in the propulsion of the projectile: recoilless rifles impart all their

energy at launch, whereas rocket launchers incorporate the propellant means within the

projectile, hence accelerating once fired.

In any case, launching is only the means to an end: that being the delivery of a payload

onto a target.

When it comes to penetrating armour, relying on kinetic energy will only get you so far:

Explosives deliver far more bang per gram.

Even so, an uncontained detonation isn't particularly effective - instead of dispersing in all directions,

to effectively tackle armour requires focus.

One of the ways you can do this is by forming a concave void in an explosive charge: upon

detonation the shockwave converges, concentrating its force - much like a lens might focus light.

A conical hollow proves most effective in focusing on a single point - even able to

punch holes in steel plate - but for maximum effect, a final element was needed: a conical

copper liner in front of the explosive charge.

The immense force generated by the concentrated shockwave forms a copper lance: a jet of molten

metal travelling at hypersonic speed, capable of piercing an alarming thickness of steel.

Suddenly, armoured vehicles were no longer invulnerable.

Since World War 2, the rocket launcher has been an essential tool in warfare - and an

instantly recognisable weapon seen in movies, television and games.

However, in the early 1980s this wasn't the case - until then the only place you'd see

them would be in war films, comics - or in the hands of toy soldiers.

Invariably it was the American M1 'Bazooka' seen in the hands of the heroes: so-named

for its resemblance to a tubular musical instrument.

The nickname stuck - to to the point that 'bazooka' became a catch-all term for any

rocket launcher, old or new - a generic term that still remains in use.

And so it was stories of war that first introduced rocket launchers to popular culture - but

as a new era of action films came of age, their influence would spread.

Car chases and shootouts were a staple of 1970s crime films, but as audiences' appetite

for destruction increased, filmmakers looked for new ways to raise the stakes.

Something visually distinctive - and touching on primal instinct: a new form of explosive

justice.

One of the key catalysts for this was Rambo: First Blood - fusing police action with military

themes, and fully embracing the potential of a chaotic hero on a rampage.

It resonated with the era - and while it was no E.T., its success triggered a sequence

of explosive hits that would go on to shape the decade.

Films like Terminator; Red Dawn; Commando; Death Wish III; Rambo II: by the mid-80s,

explosions were a currency of cool - and the best way to deliver them was by bazooka.

A flurry of military themed video games followed cinema's lead - and about time too, as the

shooter genre had long been stuck in stale imitation of Space Invaders.

Capcom's Commando was the among the first to ride this trend, followed in short order

by Ikari Warriors; Operation Wolf; and Contra.

The shoulder-launched weapon was not always seen in the hands of the player (grenades

were another popular explosive choice); but the second a tube-toting sprite appeared on

screen - you knew what the score was.

By the end of the decade, rocket launchers were firmly entrenched as a part of video

games - bleeding from military-themed shoot 'em ups and finding a place in newly flourishing

genres.

The early 90s placed cutesy platformers centre stage - but earlier arcade action would still

prove a major influence on gaming's future direction.

The first person shooter was emerging: and Id's Doom took the lead on what would become

an incredibly popular formula.

With a diet of action movies and shoot-em-ups, the rocket launcher's reappearance should

be no real surprise.

Its power and ability to reduce enemies to gibs meant it was always going to be popular

- but beyond that, it became a prototype for future games to follow.

Doom clones were judged on their weapon selection and gore: and with so many wannabe's vying

for Id's glory; the rocket launcher quickly became an FPS institution.

However - Quake elevated it to an artform.

It remained a core weapon - a perfect tool for fragging, with the potential to kill with

a single hit, or injure within its blast radius: but beyond that, explosives became an important

part of mobility.

'Rocket jumping' is a largely self-explanatory term - making use of the repulsive power of

rocket or grenade explosions to propel oneself across huge gaps, or to reach high ledges.

Executed well, you can outmanouever an opponent - or snare a vital power-up.

Just one of many facets that made Quake's skill ceiling exceptional.

These foundations laid for competitive shooters remain in place - but the fast-paced formula

isn't for everyone: and besides, how do you improve on perfection?

So in order to stay relevant, the FPS genre had to evolve: and while PC gaming was thriving,

the scale of the console market was starting to outpace it.

Like the action films that inspired them, early FPS games placed their weapons in a

hierachy: with the weakest at the bottom, culminating in power until a climax of wanton

destruction.

This was a formula that would persist until Halo trimmed its ready arsenal to a console-centric

two slots instead.

Of course, the rocket launcher was still there - it was an essential inclusion: with the

SPNKR continuing the lineage started in Marathon.

Powerful, naturally - but now the player was faced with a dilemma: do you pick up the rocket

launcher, or take a more versatile weapon instead?

With Halo's slower pace and simplified twin-stick controls, the console FPS had finally matured

- and while not as fluid as their PC equivalent, the broader platform would help the genre

find mainstream success.

Shooters are fantastically action-oriented - but it's fair to say that in the mid 90s

they were a little lacking in narrative.

Some sought to correct this: for instance, Half-Life was a wonderful marriage of experiential

storytelling with the usual dose of shooting action.

However, when it comes to a fusion of stories with combat, it's war films that pull it off

most convincingly - and, with a little help from Steven Spielberg, FPS games were taken

in a more cinematic direction.

The Medal of Honor series led a new obsession with World War 2, taking the rocket launcher

on a trip back to its roots - the Doom clone's fictional launchers replaced with the more

realistic Bazooka, Panzerfaust and Panzershreck.

By the time Call of Duty first emerged, Halo's rule of two had become law - so now the most

powerful options were only dispensed at the time of requirement - a panicked rush as a

tank emerges to find an explosive resolution.

These tank climaxes could be thrilling - but the scripted moments lacked a certain freedom.

In any case, once the world war well ran dry, games sought another source - with some banking

on Vietnam as 'the next big thing'.

Of course it wasn't - it was Modern Warfare instead.

The contemporary setting brought with it a host of cool gadgets: both high tech, and

high explosive.

The RPG-7, shot to prominence in the Rambo films, was once again relevant - along with

later western equivalents such as the AT-4 and SMAW.

There's also the more intelligent munitions with lock-on capability: guided anti-air options

such as the FIM-92 Stinger, and the terrifying top-attack mode of the Javelin.

The only trouble is, the realistic setting robs most of the fun.

Sure, blowing stuff up is cool - but in an attempt to replicate the cumbersome nature

of most launchers, they're sluggish (painfully so) - and worst of all, boring!

It's worse in multiplayer, too - where balance must be preserved at all costs, their explosive

damage is reigned in: and you're lucky if you get more than one or two shots.

Cinematic realism isn't without its downsides, then: but while modern military games were

consistently topping the charts, not many games veered into riskier territory.

However, times change - and the classic FPS has had a resurgence of late.

A rejection of the baggage tacked on to modern games in favour of the pure lack of restraint

that made original FPS games so much fun.

Faster paced, more room to manoeuvre - and a return to the rapid-firing rocket launcher

rampages that first defined the genre.

Beyond the superficial improvements to graphics and sound, there have been lessons learned:

modern controls, better pacing and game flow - amenities which we forgive the classics

for, but expect of any modern game.

The recent critical success of the rebooted Wolfenstein and Doom franchises might herald

a new direction - one less concerned with dramatic demonstration and one far more focussed

on fun.

But no matter where the first-person formula treads, the rocket launcher always seems to

be present.

It's woven into its DNA - from its founding, throughout its life:

The settings might change, the virtual weapon on-screen might look different - but somehow,

it always comes back to explosions.

A weapon that truly belongs to video games:

Its tubuluar form transcends the status of any specific launcher.

Far removed from its armor-piercing origin -

now a champion of frantic FPS mayhem.

The rocket launcher.

Classic frag.

Ludicrous gibs.

Monster kill.

Thank you for watching - and until next time, farewell.

Real Estate: Inspecting & Managing Properties - Duration: 7:36.

Hey, what's up?

John Sonmez here from simpleprogrammer.com.

I got a real estate related question for you today.

For those of you that are interested in the real estate investment type of videos that

I've done, I've been in real estate investment for quite a while here.

You can check out the videos here.

I've got a playlist of all my real estate videos.

If you're not interested in real estate, well, you should be, because it's definitely one

of the best investments that you can make.

From time to time I get some questions and I answer them about real estate investment,

so here we go.

I've got a question about inspecting properties and he says here, "Do you always personally

inspect the properties?

Have you purchased properties that is not in your geographical area?

If so, how can you make sure that the property management company is doing a good job?

Do you always use the same companies to manage all of your properties?"

A few different questions here, I figured I'd answer off some of these here.

First of all, do I always personally inspect the properties?

I do.

Well, okay, no.

I do look at the pictures.

I always have a professional property inspector inspect the properties.

I've bought a lot of properties site unseen out of state.

I didn't do that with my first properties.

I definitely checked those out first, but as I've gotten confidence in my ability to

invest in properties and I know what I'm looking for, what I have found that I need to rely

on is not necessarily my own eyes but on an inspector that I can rely on.

What I try to do is I try to find the most grizzly, most ill-tempered, most bastard inspector

that I can that's going to tell me all the shit that's wrong with the house, okay?

That's what I want him—I don't want the inspector that rubber stamps it for the real

estate agent and says, "Oh, it looks good" or "I just found these few things."

No, I want someone that picks apart every single possible thing because I want to know

if there's something wrong with the house.

I pay extra money to hire a good inspector that does a very, very detailed job.

I trust that rather myself because what am I going to do, go look at the property?

In fact, I have looked at properties that have looked like crap and an inspector has

come in and said, "Man, this property is—it's good.

Everything is good here."

I've had the opposite.

I've had properties where I've bought a brand new property or I was going to buy a brand

new, new construction, no one has ever lived there and it looks beautiful.

I'm like, "Man, this looks like a great place.

I don't even need a home inspection."

Then I get the home inspection and the inspector comes out there and he's like, "Man, whoever

built this house, they didn't know what the hell they were doing.

There's as leak—the plumbing is leaking.

All this stuff is messed up."

He's giving me a whole list of bad things.

I rely on good inspectors.

If I'm really unsure, I'll hire a second inspector, why not?

Why not pay a little bit of extra money if you're really on the fence and get a second

inspector come out, get a second opinion?

It's not a bad idea if you're making a big investment.

Next, he says, "Have you purchased property that is not in your immediate geographical

area?"

I kind of answered that one already.

I live in San Diego right now and I have properties in Boise, Idaho and Kansas City, Missouri.

When I lived in Boise I was purchasing properties in Boise primarily, but then I moved around

and I ended up buying a lot of properties in Kansas City and I have never lived in Kansas

City.

I've purchased them outside of my geographic area.

If you're starting out, I don't necessarily recommend it.

It's going to be a little bit harder to do, but I wouldn't let that stop you.

If you live in California don't buy properties in California, that's dumb.

You're not going to buy a good investment rental property in California, it's too expensive.

I mean at least in the major cities in California.

You know what I'm talking about.

Same thing with New York City, stuff like that.

You might want to find a place, especially today, especially when property prices go

up, you might want to find somewhere Midwest in the US, Texas, Missouri, Kansas, places

like that where you can find a good deal, where the property is cheap and you're still

going to get a decent rent for it.

That's what I would do.

He says here, "If so, how can you make sure the property management company is doing a

good job?"

This one is tough.

I think I did a video on property management companies, evaluating them.

You can check it out if not.

I'll give you kind of an idea here anyway.

You can't ever totally know this.

The biggest thing that I would say here is that you need to vet property managers ahead

of time.

Being in the location is not going to help you to know if a property manager is doing

a good job.

Sure, you can drive by and physically inspect the property and say, "Oh, it looks like they're

doing a good job."

That's not really a good indicator if they're doing a job.

It's going to stress you out.

it's not worth it.

Don't do that.

Instead, you've got to be able to trust the property management company you hire.

Do the leg work, call 6 different property management companies in the area and then

interview them, ask them a bunch of questions.

Ask them for references.

Go check out some of the properties that they have listed and talk to the tenants.

Talk to the owners.

Do your research because it's going to be worth it.

It can cost you a lot of money to have a bad property management company.

I've had to fire 5 different property management companies in my career as a real estate investor

and I can tell you that they can really screw you over.

A lot of them will try to.

It is a shady industry.

Real estate in general is a shady industry.

I've got to tell you this so you know it upfront.

Be prepared to deal with shady people.

It doesn't mean everyone is, but you've got to find the diamonds in the rough.

He says here, "Do you always use the same company to manage all your properties?"

For the most part, yes, simply because of the economy of scale.

You're going to get a better value typically and you have more leverage.

I like to have leverage with property management companies.

I like to say, "Hey, I've got 20 units, don't screw me, otherwise I'll take my business

elsewhere."

Whereas if I just have one little house, they don't care.

It doesn't make a difference.

I try to use the same property management company when I find a good property management

company that's who I want to use.

I've got 3 current property management companies that I'm using between Boise Idaho and Kansas

City, Missouri and the reason why is because one of the properties is geographical split

in Kansas City so I have to use someone else in that area, but I would prefer to just have

just the 2.

I'd prefer to just have one, except that between Boise and Kansas City it's a large distance.

You're going to have to manage the property management company so you want to reduce the

amount of overhead that you have by having less property management companies to manage

if that makes sense to you.

All right, if you like this video, if you want to get more videos on software development,

career advice, personal development, everything that's going to help you to become not just

a better software developer in your career but to increase yourself financially, become

an entrepreneur, get the mindset that you need to succeed in life, go ahead and click

that subscribe button if you haven't already.

I'll talk to you next time.

Take care.

NSA To Provide Smoking Gun Proof Obama Spied On Trump - Duration: 6:16.

NSA To Provide Smoking Gun Proof Obama Spied On Trump

by Tyler Durden

Yesterday, Republican Devin Nunez Nunes held an explosive press conference outside the

White House in which he told reporters that communications from the Trump team were picked

up and disseminated within the government during the 2016 campaign.

Not surprisingly, the comments ruffled some liberal feathers and the mainstream media

launched an immediate smear campaign calling for Nunes to resign his post immediately.

Now, according to Fox News sources, congressional investigators expect that a potential smoking

gun from the NSA establishing that the Obama administration spied on the Trump transition

team, and possibly the president-elect himself, will be produced to the House Intelligence

Committee as early as tomorrow.

The intelligence is said to leave no doubt the Obama administration, in its closing days,

was using the cover of legitimate surveillance on foreign targets to spy on President-elect

Trump, according to sources.

The FBI hasnt been responsive to the House Intelligence Committees request for documents,

but the National Security Agency is expected to produce documents to the committee by Friday.

The NSA document production is expected to produce more intelligence than Nunes has so

far seen or described including what one source described as a potential smoking

gun establishing the spying.

Classified intelligence showing incidental collection of Trump team communications, purportedly

seen by committee Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., and described by him in vague terms at a bombshell

Wednesday afternoon news conference, came from multiple sources, Capitol Hill sources

told Fox News.

The intelligence corroborated information about surveillance of the Trump team that

was known to Nunes, sources said, even before President Trump accused his predecessor of

having wiretappedhim in a series of now-infamous tweets posted on March 4.

The key to that conclusion is the unmasking of selected U.S. persons whose names appeared

in the intelligence, the sources said, adding that the paper trail leaves no other plausible

purpose for the unmasking other than to damage the incoming Trump administration.

Because Nuness intelligence came from multiple sources during a span of several weeks, and

he has not shared the actual materials with his committee colleagues, he will be the only

member of the panel in a position to know whether the NSA has turned over some or all

of the intelligence he is citing.

If true, of course, this could put a 'slight' taint Obama's claim of a "scandal free" eight

years in the White House.

For those who missed it, here was Nunes's press conference from yesterday:

The FBI is not cooperating with the House of Representatives' investigation into the

NSA's surveillance of the Trump campaign during the 2016 election, the chairman of the U.S.

House Permanent Select Committee, Devin Nunes said in a press conference on Wednesday afternoon.

In the aftermath of today's most stunning news report, namely the confirmation that

Trump may have been right all along following the admission of House Intel Committee Chair

Devin Nunes that the communications of Trump's aides and the president himself had been "incidentally"

monitored, Nunes held an explosive press conference outside the White House in which told reporters

that communications from the Trump team were picked up and disseminated within the government

during the 2016 campaign.

Nunes said sources within the intelligence community presented him with the information.

He spoke to the press after briefing the administration.

Nunes said that he had briefed the president about his concerns over the "incidental" collection

of data, adding that the president "needs to know" that these intel reports exist, and

adding ominously that "some of what I've seen seems to be inappropriate."

Nunes also said that Trump, others in the transition team were put into the intelligence

report and asked if Trump should be in these "normal" reports.

But what was perhaps most troubling in Nunes presser is that in the aftermath of Monday's

Congressional hearing with James Comey in which the FBI director said on the record

there had been no surveillance of Trump, is the House Intel Commission chair's statement

that the FBI is not cooperating with the investigation.

"We dont actually know yet officially what happened to General Flynn," Nunes said of

how communications from Gen. Flynn's calls were leaked to the press.

"We just know that his name leaked out but we don't know how it was picked up yet.

That was one of the things that we asked for in the March 15th letter, was for the NSA,

CIA, and FBI to get us all the unmasking that was done."

"And I'll tell you, NSA is being cooperative," Nunes continued, "but so far the FBI has not

told us whether or not theyre going to respond to our March 15th letter, which is

now a couple of weeks old.

Nunes also reported that as of now, he "cannot rule out" President Obama ordering the surveillance.

Finally, and contrary to earlier media reports, Nunes clarified that the surveillance was

not related to the FBI's investigation into possible collusion with Russia.

This surveillance, he emphasized to reporters, does not "have anything to do with Russia."

As a reminder, this has been the strawman argument proposed by much of the liberal media,

which has said that a wiretapping of Trump or his aides, would only confirm that his

relations with Russia were suspect and thus prompted a FISA warrant.

If Nunes is correct, and Trump was being wiretapped for reasons having nothing to do with Russia,

that entire narrative falls apart, and the press will now have to spend the next few

weeks building up an entirely new narrative to "justify" why Trump was being wiretapped

on Obama's watch.

Entertainment Weekly | 연예가중계 - [ENG/中文字幕/2017.03.27] - Duration: 1:04:49.

(Episode 1664)

Hello, I'm Shin Hyunjoon.

Hello. I'm Jung Jiwon.

A lot has happened in the entertainment business.

There's been news about a wedding and a newborn baby.

We've also met with many celebrities this week.

Jiwon, your outfit is gorgeous today.

Don't I look like a beautiful bird?

- A peacock. / - I apologize to our viewers.

Excuse me?

Please don't do that.

Please don't do that.

Yoon Jiyeon and Kim Taejin's segments are up first.

Please stop doing that already.

I got it.

We're sorry.

I apologize on her behalf.

I met up with five stars. They're known to be

very funny and intelligent at the same time.

They are cast members of a new program,

"The Celestial Collection".

We met with Kim Suro, Seo Kyungseok,

Kong Hyungjin, Lee Hyunyi, and Choi Yeojin.

Since they are such great conversationalists,

we were able to have a very jolly interview.

- Stay tuned for the interview. / - What a great cast.

Why don't we start the show with This Week's Hot Click?

This week, the singer Bada got married.

She brought great news to the entertainment business.

And Shin Hakyun and Kim Goeun announced their break up.

We'll be delivering a variety of news today.

This Week's Hot Click begins now.

I am very happy.

It's Bada, one of the first female idol singers.

Congratulations.

(Bada of S.E.S gets married.)

Last Thursday, a lot of reporters were posted

at her wedding

at a Catholic church in Seoul,

Bada made an appearance wearing a pure-white dress.

Unlike her usual self, she looked rather nervous.

We will go ahead and start taking pictures now.

Please tell me which poses to make.

Are there any specific poses you want her to do?

I'm feeling very nervous.

She doesn't get nervous on stage at all, but today...

On this day, Eugene and Shoo joined Bada's press

conference which made them look like real sisters.

Let's hear what Bada has to say before the wedding.

I am very happy. Thank you.

Congratulations.

I'm so happy for her.

Now that she's getting married, we have one more

thing to talk about. From now on,

it will be even more fun for us to chat.

I'm very happy for her as well.

I hope she'll always be happy. I love you.

Bada's husband is

a businessman who is nine years younger than her.

The wedding was held at a beautiful Catholic church.

The wedding was a private affair

for her husband who isn't a public figure.

Numerous stars attended her wedding that day.

It was a chance to look at her personal connections.

Lee Sooman graced the occasion with his presence.

Because younger members got married before her,

I was worried about that.

I'm very happy for her. Congratulations.

I extend to her my heartiest congratulations.

I sincerely hope she will lead a happy marriage

and be happy.

I guess another guest has arrived.

You're all looking over there, not at me.

It was Ok Taecyeon who grabbed everyone's attention.

Congratulations on your wedding.

I hope you will lead a happy life.

How about you?

Me? I don't plan on getting married yet.

I plan on doing my military service first.

I believe that she is a truly talented individual.

That's what I think.

It made me think this is so like her.

I hope she will have many children and

- become a queen of fertility. / - How nice to see her.

When I look at Eugene and Shoo,

it makes me think having children is great.

When I'm done with my summer concerts,

I will try...

I will try to focus on having babies.

When it comes to marriage, nothing is easy.

I hope you'll listen to each other, be considerate,

and lead a happy marriage. Always be happy.

I hope you'll be a good wife

- with a big heart. / - It's Jisook.

Please take good care of Bada.

I wish you both the best.

Good luck to you both and your future baby.

Congratulations.

Bada expressed her joy with a heartfelt message

to her husband-to-be.

Thank you so much.

Just like my name, Bada,

I'll be the quiet friend and wife

that will always lend you an ear.

Let's do our best to start a happy family.

Congratulations. I wish you the best of luck.

- Congratulations. / - Congratulations!

Next, we bring you news of a breakup.

Shin Hakyun and Kim Goeun has announced the end of

their eight-month long relationship.

Despite the 17-year age difference, they connected

thanks to their similar hobbies.

And they revealed their relationship last August.

However, according to their agencies,

they ended their relationship in February.

They just couldn't find time for each other.

(They ended their eight-month relationship.)

The breakup of Hakyun and Goeun

was already rumored to be true around February.

Around that time, Goeun deleted her social media

account and created a new one.

Previous photos of Hakyun were deleted,

and she only posted photos of herself,

which added fuel to the rumor.

During their relationship,

Goeun created quite the buzz

by signing with Hakyun's agency.

She's still with the agency,

but since they agreed to remain as good friends,

I doubt either of them will be switching agencies.

Hakyun has movies such as "Wind Wind Wind"

and "Room No.7" coming out,

so the breakup won't affect his career.

Meanwhile, Goeun is looking for

her next series or movie following "Goblin".

Though they are going their separate ways,

we hope they will be more mature

from this experience.

The actress Ku Hyesun has dropped out of

her TV series due to medical reasons.

Recently, she suffered from

vertigo and shortness of breath on set.

It turns out that she had an anaphylactic shock,

but kept on performing while being treated.

However, her symptoms only got worse.

After discussing with her doctor, her agency

and the production crew decided to drop her

so that she could get better.

Currently, she's recovering at a hospital.

We hope for nothing but her full recovery.

Let's have fun together.

One of Korea's most famous musician couples, Haha and

Byul, have welcomed the birth of a little prince.

(They were married in 2012.)

They welcomed their first son, Dream,

eight months after their wedding.

(Dream was born eight months after their wedding.)

Before the end of this year, I'd like to be pregnant

- with Dream's sibling. / - I see.

- Your second child. / - That's right.

Her wish came true.

Before 2016 ended, Haha notified his fans

of his wife's pregnancy via social media.

And last Wednesday, a baby boy was born.

They're both in great health.

Since it's her second childbirth,

Byul didn't really have any trouble.

Gratefully, Haha was able to be by her side all day.

Since she'll need time to recover from childbirth,

she'll be taking time off work.

Meanwhile, Haha will soon release his new album.

Haha and Byul are now parents of two children.

We only wish them great happiness.

Me too.

So?

The scene-stealer of the TV series "Good Manager".

The spoiled brat and son of TQ Group's CEO.

(His on-screen chemistry with Namkoong Min)

We'll get our chance.

He's now turned over a new leaf in the show.

This is my interview with Dong Ha.

(Meet the actor, Dong Ha.)

This is the hair salon Dong Ha is at.

Hi.

(Dong Ha)

This is quite embarrassing.

I'm getting my hair done right now.

The hairdresser behind me owns the salon,

and he's also my brother.

I go to work with hair styled by my brother.

- They look alike. / - Please show him your love.

Please.

I've never done an interview before.

And this will be aired on national television.

(It's his first solo interview.)

I've never done one before.

I sometimes look up my own name.

First, I search the keyword "Good Manager".

(He types in "Good Manager".)

My name is fourth when it comes to associated keywords.

Could life get any better than this?

This is why I'm happy despite the lack of sleep.

(He's very happy these days.)

(He arrives at where the interview will take place.)

I'm finally here.

I'm going in now.

- Here I go. / - Hang on.

- Hello. / - Not yet.

- Hi. / - No, I have to introduce you first.

Making rookie mistakes just adds to his charm.

Can you stand by over there?

He's the scene-stealer of the TV series "Good Manager".

Please welcome Dong Ha,

a member of the accounting team.

Hello!

What an introduction.

- Hello. / - Hi.

It's nice to meet you.

How was it to film yourself coming to the studio?

I don't know. It was my first time doing this,

so I found it hard to talk by myself.

To be honest, I feel like I'm here with

your character from the show.

Are you still embodying him?

Because how I look is the same.

How much do you think

you resemble your character?

It changes from time to time, but 50 percent overall.

I like hanging out and talking to my friends.

(He's cheery just like his character.)

That's what we have in common.

However, what my character was like earlier on,

being rude to my seniors and colleagues,

is not at all like who I am.

Your chemistry with Namkoong Min

is sweet to say the least.

He helps me out a lot on set.

He coaches me on how I could change it up,

and he helps me think of different ad-libs.

He's the reason why I'm noticed today.

Your character doesn't have a love interest though.

I am upset about that,

but it's all right.

Is there an actress that

you'd like to have romantic scenes with?

No, there isn't.

Your colleagues would be sad to hear that.

Naming only one would upset them as well.

You put me in an awkward position just now.

Still, what if you had to choose one actress?

I'd choose Gwangsook.

I'm sorry. I guess I still have a long way to go.

(Do you mean me?)

The others would be upset to hear that.

(The other actresses will be upset.)

(So this is what it's like to be on a variety show.)

Now you know how harsh the world is, Dong Ha.

During the 16th episode, you spoke

- Swahili, the national language of Tanzania. / - Yes.

(Dong Ha calls a Tanzanian company)

(to prove its existence.)

What did he say?

(Many were amazed by his performance.)

No wonder people were amazed.

Did you really speak Swahili just now?

I spent an hour on YouTube studying it.

The pronunciation might be a little off,

but it really is Swahili.

What did it say on the script though?

The lines were in English.

"Okay. Thank you. My goodness." That was about it.

However, it just didn't felt right.

I was wondering what I should do in the waiting room,

and that's when

I decided to speak in Swahili instead.

So I immediately looked it up on YouTube.

When I said the lines on set, everyone responded well.

I was glad that my ad-lib was approved.

Let's dig more into Dong Ha by reading his resume.

Can we talk about your debut performance?

I debuted in the 2008 series "The Accidental Couple".

What's your name again?

(This is Dong Ha nine years ago.)

In the series,

it looks so natural when you cower.

- Cower? / - Did you really ask him that?

I just tried to remember

what it was like to be threatened that way.

It isn't easy to do when your partner doesn't mean it.

I really need to feel threatened.

Let's try it, then.

I wouldn't mind demonstrating it.

- Really? / - You need to mean it though.

I'll hit you for real, then.

What?

(Hesitating)

- She likes to hit people. / - It will hurt.

- Be gentle. / - Here we go.

I showed him how it's done.

I hope he wasn't too surprised by that.

Were you really only acting?

(I'm sorry.)

What's your goal as an actor?

I don't think I've ever thought of one.

I truly haven't.

All I want to be is a good actor.

This is something that I love.

(He loves being an actor.)

I'll be happy to have people acknowledge me as one.

That's all I wish for. That and nothing else.

I glimpse some tears here.

That's how my eyes always look.

I see.

(This is just how I look like.)

"Good Manager" wraps up its production next week.

It's sad, but I hope you'll stay tuned until the end.

Please look out for me,

and I promise to deliver in many other shows.

We wish Dong Ha a fruitful future as well.

That we do!

(Entertainment Weekly)

The new TV show

that will air soon on KBS1.

These are the hosts of "The Celestial Collection".

To tell us the stories of hidden treasures,

smart, talkative, and witty celebrities have been cast.

March in the lunar month...

- "In the lunar month"? / - "In the lunar month"?

(Just how old-fashioned is he?)

He made us laugh right from the start.

They introduce hidden treasures of history.

His role in "The Celestial Collection"

is to present

- the treasures. / - That's right.

Kyungseok's presentation was very entertaining.

(While describing the treasure,)

(he screams.)

(Screaming)

He did something like this.

- You feel bored if it's not entertaining, / - Right.

- even if it's a good story. / - That's a useful word.

I try to make people laugh once every ten lines or so,

or surprise them.

That's why you scream to surprise people

so that they could accidentally press the button.

I do that a lot at home as well.

How do you introduce the treasures, Yeojin?

She dances.

- Is that so? / - Yes, she dances.

I just dance elegantly.

- My goodness. / - She's elegant, yet...

- Her fashion designer is having a hard time. / - True.

Is there any celebrity you would like to suggest

as a host of "The Celestial Collection"?

- I'd like to suggest Hyun Bin. / - I see.

He's a very prudent man in real life.

- It looks like he's wearing a fur hat. / - He would

feel various things through this show.

Huge efforts have been made by the hosts

to introduce the treasures that's on the stage.

They perform with a variety of interesting attractions.

He even went on a field trip to Haeinsa.

Let's have some compliments for each other.

Kyungseok raised the standards for

the education level of a celebrity.

I think he's an example of an ideal broadcaster

that people want these days.

Coincidentally, Kyungseok was a host in other

- entertainment shows / - Right.

for two months.

- That's called a grand slam. / - Right.

Okay. I'll stop here.

Hyungjin is like jjamppong in the entertainment world.

(Jjamppong?)

Like jjamppong in the entertainment world.

(Can he take that as a compliment?)

I've never heard such thing in my life.

He's like the soup made with a rich broth.

It's normally called sagol.

Jjamppong soup evaporates if you simmer it too long.

There is a reason why

- he's always surrounded / - Let him continue.

- by many people. / - All right.

He's a very genuine person.

Your face turned into the color of jjamppong.

This is great.

It's exactly the same color as jjamppong.

I'm jjamppong!

Yeojin, you've been busy working

(She is a model cum actress.)

as a model and an actress.

Is there any role that you're interested in these days?

In fact, I've been playing similar characters

of professional career women.

As an actress, my dream is to act in historical dramas.

I want to wear a heavy wig

even if it would give me neck problems.

You're saying you'd never play a peasant.

Roles that need big wigs are only allowed.

I'd love to play a gisaeng character as well.

That would suit you very well.

That's my wish as an actress.

That sounded pretty weird, didn't it?

I was complimenting her,

but it actually sounds like criticism.

At least it's better than jjamppong.

Hyunyi, you tend to host

TV shows that are pretty serious.

- In fact, I'm a very cheerful / - Really?

- type of person. / - You like to play, right?

You like to play.

- She likes to go clubbing. / - I'm very cheerful.

Aren't you a mother?

- Mothers can also be cheerful. / - Right.

Her baby plays with her.

- Play with me mom. / - They play together.

- They're very logical, aren't they? / - So cheerful.

The weather is getting hot these days.

Would you give some tips for people who are on a diet?

Before I was pregnant,

I thought I don't easily gain weight.

However, I gained a lot of weight during my pregnancy.

I gained 22kg.

But I have lost all of it by now.

To lose weight, you have to cut out all junk food.

- That's right. / - You shouldn't have any at all.

You should only have meals that have lots of protein.

You should stop having lattes as well.

- You can't even have lattes? / - Yes.

- You don't need snacks. / - Right.

I normally tell people not to go on a diet.

Actors and models usually do this.

When you suddenly lose weight

in a short period of time,

your skin loses its elasticity.

- If you starve yourself for a diet, / - I agree.

- your skin isn't as firm. / - Right.

It's not good for your health either.

If you want to go on a diet, it has to be consistent.

If you work out consistently and eat healthy,

you eventually end up with a healthy and gorgeous body.

- It should be an everyday routine. / - Right.

I envy her.

I asked the hosts what their best collections are

in their lives.

Suro, show is your answer. In one, two, three.

The best collection in my life is my filmography.

I hope I can be an actor who continues to mature

and share my love with the audience

through good shows and films.

I feel the same as Suro.

My 57th film will be released next month.

That's too many.

The best collection in my life are my films.

It's the most precious treasure for actors.

My wish is that our new show "The Celestial Collection"

- will become my best collection in my life. / - I see.

The best collection of my life

is my portfolio that was made

- when I used to model. / - I see.

What about Kyungseok?

(My best collection would be Entertainment Weekly.)

I used to host various entertainment news shows.

I grew up with Entertainment Weekly,

and my wish is to become a member of that show.

He's laughing at his own words.

Let's stop here, Kyungseok.

- Okay. / - It's tiring.

It's time to finish our interview.

Chief, I'll visit you to say hi soon.

- Hyunjoon, don't be nervous. / - Where did you

- get that from? / - "The Celestial Collection"

will introduce you to amazing treasures.

You will be surprised.

We can share our emotions.

You will learn something from it.

It will also make you laugh.

Go, "The Celestial Collection"!

It will be on air tomorrow night.

I definitely won't miss the broadcast.

I'm sorry, Kyungseok.

My contract will last

until I see grandchildren of my own.

Since my son is 11 months old,

- you might need to wait a little longer. / - Okay.

Anyways, all the hosts are so amazing

- and I can't wait to watch it. / - Me too.

Good luck to you all,

and please stay focused with that show, Kyungseok.

We will take care of Entertainment Weekly

- Now and forever. / - now and forever.

I love you, Entertainment Weekly.

My apologies.

That's enough, Hyunjoon.

Let's move on to the next news report.

- Sungeun and Seunghye has it ready. / - All right.

These five actors became siblings

while acting in a movie together.

The siblings include the oldest, Kim Sunyoung,

and the youngest, Yim Siwan.

Please stay tuned for it.

She didn't make a mistake today.

Here another piece of news.

I had a fun brunch date

with the cute and sexy members of Girl's Day.

Not to mention the honest conversation,

we had a chance to make

extremely healthy food there.

Please stay tuned for the interview

with the cute and cheerful Girl's Day.

His voice seems happy.

(Girl's Day is back after a year and nine months.)

The best girl group, Girl's day, is back

after a year and nine months.

(Screaming)

The interview was so sweet and full of laughter.

It starts now.

- It's not it. / - Let's go.

The room is pink.

It's Girl's Day. Welcome.

Every day, Girl's Day.

- Hi, we're Girl's Day. / - Hi, we're Girl's Day.

Nice to meet you all.

It's been a while since you released the last album.

We finally found the song that all of us

and the agency like.

We took the time to look for a good song.

It's a song with hip-hop and jazz mixed together.

This song expresses strong women.

Can you please sing it for us a little bit?

(She doesn't seem very confident.)

Sure.

You sing live in the morning.

- Actually, I'm half asleep. / - Everyone,

I'm with the five swindlers

Hello. Nice to meet you.

Who will introduce your movie, "One Line", first?

Donghwi, let's hear your voice. It's been a long time.

"One Line" is a movie where the five of us

swindle people with loans.

Is that it? Is everyone okay with that?

I think Siwan should add a lot of details to that.

It's a movie about loan scams.

To help people get loans from banks,

we fake their occupation, age, and social status.

If they successfully get loans from banks,

we receive a commission.

It's about that kind of fraud.

It's a movie that makes us think about

"One Line" is a crime-comedy that tells us the story

of an ordinary college student who meets Mr. Jang,

Make an Island Sunset Quilt with Rob - Duration: 10:00.

I am absolutely addicted to these disappearing style blocks. I'm having so much fun creating

them. I'm on my way to teach in Hawaii pretty soon so I wanted to do one I'm now calling

the Island Sunset. Let's get started.

Now for today's project I did purchase two different ten by ten squares. These are the

Wilmington Ten Carat Gems. There's a pink and purple family I've used and a yellow

and orange family that I've used. But in all fairness this quilt right here used half

of each stack so I could make two, a beautiful quilt on the back, a bigger quilt than this.

I think you get the picture. So what I really wanted to try to do with this project, not

only design another killer block but try to take colors and push them through each other

was my original intention. And I had a lot of fun designing this. So what I did is I

just took my ten by ten packs, right? And then I went ahead and I just opened them up

and separated them out into my color family. So look at this board that I've created

here. If you look carefully I have laid them out from my lightest all the way through back

over here to my darkest of my pinks and purples. And I also did the same with my yellows and

oranges. To get high contrast in this particular project what I really want you to do though

is to take like your darkest of the purple and the lightest of your yellow over here.

And then you're just going to take those as you're building your stacks. Just take

a moment and set them up right sides together because we're going to sew around all four

sides. So I literally just started going all the way through my color piles just like this

until I built up all of my squares that I needed. So that I could just comfortably sit

at my machine and begin sewing. So I think you get the idea. Let's wander over to that

machine and begin sewing.

I know the quilt looks a bit complicated behind me. That was one of my tricks. But it was

super, super easy. You're going to use the standard half square triangle trick where

we're going to take and just sew all four sides of our two squares. So make sure your

squares are right sides together. Some of those lighter fabrics are a little tricky

so look at your print. You're going to use a quarter inch seam allowance. And I'm going

to go ahead and thread my machine today because I think if I thread the machine it will actually

sew much nicer. And it won't take me but a second here. Told you. Now we've got the

machine threaded. That's a good starting place for all of us today. And now I'm going

to make my quarter inch seam allowance. And when I'm making these blocks I have found

that it is really easy if I just kind of secure this opposite corner. It keeps things from

rippling and puckering when I'm done later. So I'm going to zip around these edges here

for us. There's one little trick here. When I come to the corner I just stop, pivot, come

right back in like yay. Lining those up. And I'll be right back when I'm done with

all four sides. Ok now we're almost to that last corner and this is why I've been holding

that opposite corner so I don't get much of a pucker as I come in there. It works really

nicely. Thread cut. And then all you're going to simply do is you're going to take

that block, lay her on down. And then, and I've already got one kind of prepped out.

I have them all over the place. You need a good amount of them, right?

You're going to take your ruler and you're going to lay it right where your threads cross.

Not so much worried about the corners but where the threads cross over each other, you're

going to make one diagonal cut like this. And then without moving the fabric, I kind

of peel the ruler up, drop it back down where those thread cuts are, excuse me, thread crosses

are. For the cut right across the bias again and when that is all done, it is going to

yield us these wonderful half square triangles, right? So this is the magic happening right

here. And that's all we needed to do for the first step. Now in the description below

we have our free printable today and it shows you how to build our blocks out. We're technically

building an hourglass block.

So an hourglass block is going to basically going to be opposite colors, opposite colors.

So be careful that you don't form a pinwheel. The pinwheel is like that. So make sure when

you're building them you build them all the same. That is your hourglass or broken

dishes depending on which way you turn it. Ok, enough comedy. Now as we get ready for

the seams we are just going to fold these over like this. But because we're going

to have so many of those blocks what I learned to do was to flip the next set over as well

and build an entire stack right next to my sewing machine where I had my dark triangle

always in the same location and the light triangle always in the same location so that

I could simply nest those seams together there. I could really give it a nice pinch right

here on the edge. And then I could run that through the machine with a quarter inch seam

allowance as well. And when it's all done it actually looks just like this block here.

Now I want you to be careful, excuse me and this is what I wanted to point out. It looks

just like this block. It is not impossible to build a bunch of blocks and some of them

be facing one direction and some of them be facing the other, which will throw off the

layout when you get this far into the quilt. So just take the time to make sure. Make one

block to this point then make all your blocks so that they all look the same so that you

don't have any frustrating situations down the road. Don't mean to make it sound confusing.

It really is not. Ok? So you're going to build yourself your hourglass that way.

Now the next thing I want you to do because you may not be using pre cuts you may be doing

this your own personal way. Is I want you to measure your square. I come all the way

across here and fortunately I came up with 12 ¾. Now let me take you a second and I'm

going to show you the finished block, a little bit closer. In the finished block I actually

have one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine pieces. So I have to divide this

block here technically into thirds. So 12 ¾ in thirds is great because it's 4 ¼.

However slow down. We're cutting off of the center seam. So that 4 ¼ has to be divided

by two. So we're using 2 ⅛ on this block. So what I would end up doing is take my two

and my ⅛ the little black lines in there. And I lay those right on top of that center

block on that center seam there. And I'm going to cut once. Then I'm going to rotate

here, cut with my left hand. Or if you have a lazy susan, wonderful to use your lazy susan.

And I will make four cuts at 2 ⅛ on my size block off of the center. And I'm going to

show you here in just a second what happens.

So as a reminder I made this first cut here, right? And then I made a cut like this and

a cut like that and a cut like that so you get this awesome like nine patch. Now for

our block it's really simple. I want you to take your center and just rotate it 90

degrees in any direction so you get a checkerboard there. Isn't that fun? Then we're just

going to switch out our corners. And I learned this the hard way while doing another fun

disappearing block. When you're doing your math, don't cheat. I want you to have perfect

squares. So I want all of them to match as squares so you can make any kind of alteration

or orientation changes. I did it once and this one was a square but everything else

was an odd shape so I didn't get the opportunity to mix and match. So make sure you're not

cheating on your ruler when you're doing your division. And that way you get the perfect

opportunity to do all this. Now it looks really cool here when you look at the raw block these

lines right here look like they're going to line up. But if you'll join me at a finished

block, let's move these out of the way. Look what happens, I just think this is so

cool. On these finished blocks because of the quarter inch seam allowance it actually

creates a gap in the colors. And that I think makes the block look like it is pulsing a

little bit especially if I do this over the top cam for you and it makes your eyes go

like this. So I love the energy that that square creates.

Then once you have several of them made what you can do is you can play. There's some

new alternative designs. Now I'm going to show you what I did on the quilt behind me

and in a little bit more detail here in just a second. But I was shooting for these opposites.

But the way the block is built you could technically build it and have a new counter block forming

in there as well. Where you'll have heavy chunks of color, I wanted it to feel equal

in its chunks of color so I made sure I had opposite colors when I was working. So then

another block would fall into here. Not yellows, I would rotate it like that so that I have

lots of different chunks of color working. And in that printable below we've got you

the half square triangles becoming the patch, cutting it up. But this is kind of a different

kind of orientation than I normally do. Each letter there on the printable, each letter,

A, B, C, and D represents one of the blocks. Remember each color family is only represented

once in this quilt because you have enough to do two quilts or a really big version.

So here was A, then B, then C and D. But then I come around here to E and I come back. So

a color orientation was the primary block here through the quilt this direction, down

one step, over, down a step, over and all the way through so that the color is shifting.

Because I wanted the quilt to remind you of a sunset over the water in Hawaii wishing

you all paradise be found in all of your quilts until we see you next time right here at Man

Sewing.
