International Sportsmens Expo Scottsdale Arizona Westworld
International Sportsman Expo
hi it's AlaskaGranny I just attended the
International Sportsmen's Expo in
Scottsdale Arizona it was held at
Westworld multi-use events facility which is an indoor-outdoor
convention center near Phoenix Arizona
the internationalsportsman expo is a very well organized
event there were travel trailers boats ATV s exhibits
all kinds of outdoor gear there are many
outfitters offering charter fishing
to guided hunting excursions dozens of hunting and fishing lodges
from Alaska several fishing lodges from
Canada fishing guides from La Paz Mexico
big game Outfitters from Argentina and South Africa
the International Sportsman Expl had very well organized
booths and it was a very interesting
setting and an enjoyable day the one
problem with going to a International Sportsman's Expo
if everything sounds so exciting every
lodge sounds like the greatest every
trip sounds like the one you want to
make it's hard to decide what you want
to do there were several exhibits with
gear that I found to be very interesting
and something that I might enjoy having
car truck or trailer top tent that fold
out they go on to the roof rack they
fold open popup and have a ladder and
you can climb up there and have a place
to stay I thought they were very
interesting and it's something that I
thought would be fun to have they seemed
like they were very well made whether
you're a camper a hunter or even you
were concerned with bugging out it would
be a nice thing to have stored on top of
your car you have your ready to go a
shelter there was an adorable little boy
selling duck calls
he was there with his father who was
selling a product he invented called the
finisher it's a like a coin with a
pointed curved sharp end on it and if
you go bird hunting then you finish off
your bird by inserting the end of the
finisher into the back of the duck or
goose is head I thought it was clever
and well done something simple
affordable and that could be very useful
if you're a bird hunter there were some
field dressing made easy knife Raptorazor
RaptoRazor they had quite a selection and
they were very well made they make a set
of knives that is heavy duty they make a set of knives that is
light duty and they also make a set of knives that
mounts onto your boat they are sharp enough
to field-dress an animal and even cut
your rope sneektec are a pair of
boot covers that go on the bottom of
your boot when you want to go hunting in
a stealth mode they have several inches
of foam they strapped right onto your
existing boots and allow you to walk in
a sponge-like soft stealth manner to
sneak up on to your prey if you're a bow
hunter that's something you might really
want because it can help you get closer
then you can without the risk of
snapping twigs a very clever product is
a stalker decoy if you're a bow hunter
this is something that pops up like
those windshield covers you pop it up
and you attach it to the front of your
phone it allows the animal that you're
stalking to see something that they're
used to and so you can get closer than
if you were just making up with your bow
they're very lightweight you could use
them for pack in a hunting camp and they
even could sit around your rifle if
that's something that you're interested
in they had a wide variety lots of
different kinds of animals so no matter
what space is your hunting there's
probably one that would work I talked to
several people who have purchased these
and use them to hunt and they said they
were very successful they got closer
than ever to the largest animals that
they had ever hunted never quick to
recommend these and point me to that
booth another product I found unique and
interesting is pro tracker if you're a
bow hunter it's like a GPS that fits on
the end of your arrow when you shoot
your arrow it connects to the animal and
then you have the GPS allowing you to
track where your game went so you don't
lose it the risk of losing a wounded
animal on a hunt is reduced with the use
of the pro tracker another interesting
product was called nite site night
vision capability there's a bunch of the
scope of your rifle now you may think
that night hunting is illegal but some
species such as pigs it's legal and in
other countries you might be allowed to
hunt something like a jackal I saw them
using the knife scope technology when
we were in South Africa because the game
warden was hunting the Jackals that
were killing the sheep in the Eastern Cape of South Africa it's very
effective not that expensive it was
amazing to see the recordings that they
had of the product and action so if
you're interested in night vision
technology for your hunting capabilities
