10. Pomeranian
The Pomeranian is a proud, lively little dog. It is intelligent, eager to learn, very loyal
to its handler and its family. The breed's docile temper and affectionate nature endear
it to many.
Boo, the self-proclaimed "World's Cutest Dog," is arguably the most famous Pomeranian of
all time. With his unique, short haircut and plushy-cute face, Boo took the Internet by
storm in the early 2010s on several fronts, particularly Facebook and YouTube. Boo's popularity
eventually afforded him the chance to travel the world and even "write" a book.
9. Pembroke Welsh Corgi
The preferred pooch of the British Royal Family since 1903, the highly intelligent and athletic
Pembroke Welsh Corgi are one of the most popular dog breeds today. They're cute, compact
logs of fur with hearts of pure gold.
The Pembroke Welsh Corgi is a "big dog" with short legs. He's built long and low to the
ground, but with a robust body, heavy bones, and a working dog temperament. This quick-witted
dog is Spirited and athletic, yet a steady and dependable companion.
8. Dachshund
We all love the wiener dog's amusing and unique body shape, but the breed wasn't bred that
way just to maximize cuteness. Originally bred to hunt badgers, these hounds are shaped
to allow easy access in and out of badger setts, a name given to badger layers.
Queen Victoria is quoted as saying, "Nothing will turn a man's home into a castle more
quickly and effectively than a Dachshund."
7. Beagle
The Beagle is so cute, that he was the first video we did at Animal Facts. Beagles are
clowns. They don't mind following their nose to some comedic mischief. Small, compact,
and hardy, Beagles are active companions for kids and adults alike.
It's difficult to resist the appeal of a Beagle's dark brown or hazel eyes, with his soft, pleading
expression.
6. French Bulldog
Playful, smart, adaptable, and completely irresistible, just a few choice words that
accurately describe the French Bulldog. The Frenchie will make you laugh. He's a charming,
clever dog with a sense of humor and a stubborn streak. Bred for centuries as a companion,
he's gained so much popularity that he's fast becoming the city-dwellers' dog of choice.
Hollywood seems to be cashing in on the irresistible appeal of French bulldogs. The breed can be
found in lots of movies and TV shows.
5. Bichon Frise
He's a lapful of charm in a cotton-ball cloud of curly white hair. The Bichon Frise
is one of the sweetest and most affectionate dog breeds. He loves to be the center of attention,
which isn't surprising given that he was once adored by royalty and has performed tricks
to the roars of circus crowds.
Ozzie the Bichon Frise probably has more Facebook friends than you. Ozzie can skateboard, do
laundry, and melt your heart. Owner Kayleigh Langdon set up a Facebook page to show fans

4. Miniature Schnauzer
Ah, the Mini Schnauzer, the adorable small dog breed that will win your heart with its
engaging personality and childlike mannerisms. He's a dog who's got it all in one small
package: intelligence, affection, an extroverted temperament, humor, and a personality that's
twice as big as he is. Throw in that mustache and quivering enthusiasm, and yeah…. Just
let the awwwwws flow.
3. Maltese
An adorable ball of fur, the Maltese has a lot going for him. The Maltese dog is
the oldest of the toy breeds and has been around for more than 28 centuries. Rumor has
it they originated on the Island of Malta and the little dogs were brought back to England
by the early crusaders, becoming the little darlings of Britain's royal women. The Maltese
made its first American appearance at a Westminster Kennel Club show in 1877, called a Maltese
Lion Dog. It currently enjoys being one of the more popular toy breeds.
2. Chihuahua
You can't deny the Chihuahuas cuteness. This sassy little dog has a super-size personality.
He knows what he wants and goes after it with single-minded determination. Thanks to Taco
Bell, the Chihuahua peaked in popularity in the 1990s and is probably one of the most
recognized breeds.
1. Yorkshire Terrier
If you don't awwww when you see a Yorkie, go ahead and check your pulse. The Yorkie
enjoys cuddling on laps and snuggling into a soft pillow, but is lively and inquisitive,
physically and mentally quick, and spends much time dashing around checking things out.
Legendary actress Audrey Hepburn was famously attached to her Yorkshire Terrier, Mr. Famous.
Lots of photos exist of Hepburn toting the dog around with her on studio lots, and he
even made an appearance in one of her most popular movies, "Funny Face." Other notable
celebrity Yorkie owners include Tom Brady, Carmen Electra, Natalie Portman, Ivanka Trump,
Britney Spears, and Joan Rivers.
