I'm Ryan from extremeterrain.com, and this is my review in installation of the Weathertech
Window Deflectors, fitting your 4-Door 2007 and up JK.
Today, we're gonna talk through the installation of these window deflectors, which is a very
simple one out of three wrench install.
You should be able to get these installed on your Jeep in about a half an hour, but
we'll talk more about that in just a second.
Also, we're gonna talk about the construction and a few of the features of these window
deflectors.
The main purpose of a window deflector like this is so that you can leave your window
cracked, getting a little bit of fresh air in, and creating a little bit of a vacuum
out of your Jeep, even when it's raining.
These will keep rainwater from coming in the windows while you have them cracked that little
bit.
These also do change up the look of your Jeep a little bit, and it's a look that a lot of
you are after.
So whether you want this for the form or for the function, these are going to be one of
the higher-quality versions of these available.
There are some other versions that may be a little bit less expensive.
There are some that are also a solid color where these are a dark smoked, but they're
still opaque.
So, those other options certainly do exist.
These ones are just going to fit very, very well and look good on your Jeep.
These are made of a three millimeter impact-resistant acrylic that's also going to resist scratching,
and it's not going to fade, yellow, or become brittle in the sun, because it is UV resistant.
These are designed to install on the Jeep very easily without the need to drill anything.
The front will just snap into place, and the rears will do the same, but also use a little
bit of 3M adhesive.
So to get these installed, as I said before, is a one out of three wrench install that
you can get done in under an hour.
Upfront, all you're going to need to do is roll down the window.
Make sure everything is nice and clean so you don't make any scratches while you're
installing these.
Go ahead and start in the front corner, then snap in the rear corner.
And then you work your way along, making sure that the upper channel of your new window
deflector sits inside the window channel of the Jeep.
And then roll the window up and down a couple of times to make sure everything is seated
properly.
In the rear of the process is very similar, although there are some 3M adhesives.
So, as with anytime you're using 3M, you wanna make sure that the area that's going to be
contacted by the adhesive is nice and clean before you get started.
You can go ahead and use any alcohol-based cleaner to make sure that that's clean.
I feel that's just a matter of peeling off the adhesive backing, lining these up, putting
them in place, and pushing them so that they seal properly onto the Jeep.
Again, the whole process is only about an hour, probably a little bit less.
And this is something anybody can do without any tools, just a good alcohol-based cleaner.
These window deflectors come in at right around at $115, which I don't think is too bad of
a price for what you're getting.
This is an item that if it is cheaply made, if there isn't enough R&D that goes into it,
it can fit poorly, and especially with something like these front ones that really just clip
into place, they need to fit properly or they're not gonna stay where you put them.
So, in my opinion, if I'm looking for a window deflector, I'm gonna be willing to spend a
little bit more and get something that I know is going to fit and look good.
If these are a little bit out of your price range, there are some other ones on the market
that will save you a few dollars.
So whether you're just look into change of the look of your Jeep, or you wanna be able
to roll down your window a little bit to get some ventilation and not have rain come in,
these are going to be one of the highest-quality options available, even if they are just a
little bit more expensive.
