Meet Waymo's Early Riders - Duration: 1:54.
Family: Abbi, Brielle, Candace
Izzy, Ted, Trey.
Candace: We have four different kids in sports,
we have kids in choir, we have kids in student council
they're all in everything, so it gets very hectic.
Ted: We drive a lot.
Candace: And there's no way I can be in four different places at the same time.
Ted: Waymo invited us to ride in their cars and provide feedback.
Abbi: It gives me a lot more freedom because I get to go where I want to go
instead of having to ask to get driven around.
Candace: Yeah.
Ted: I get to work and I'm less stressed
not having to deal with rush hour traffic.
I don't think you fully comprehend the opportunities that are there.
And last night we went out on a date...
and we got to cuddle. It was... Candace: Yay!
Ted: It was awesome.
Brielle: Maybe some day when there's self-driving cars for everybody
there won't be any more accidents.
Ted: I think it's neat that in the future our kids will be able to tell their kids that
they were one of the first ones to ride in self-driving cars.
Candace: Yeah I just loved the idea of being part of Waymo.
It's just groundbreaking. You always hear about some day
these cars are going to drive themselves. Well it's today, right now.
Candace: And Waymo is awesome. Brielle: I said that.
Candace: It's Waymo fun
Brielle: Too cheesy! Ted: Did you say Waymo fun?

12 GOOD Words to IMPROVE YOUR VOCABULARY - Duration: 5:39.
Today, we're talking about 12 good words.
That is...12 synonyms to use instead of the word "good."
Okay, so before we get into our lesson,
here's something that you can do that is not just good...
It's great!
Join our social media classes!
They'll give you a lot of information. We'll ask you questions.
And generally, they'll help you practice a lot of your English skills.
The word good...is okay. But it's not great or wonderful or outstanding.
Here are some other words that will help you change
things up and express yourself better than just using the word "good".
Number 1 - Valuable
We use "valuable" when we talk about the cost or
worth of something, or someone's importance.
Number 2 - Excellent
This word means extremely good. It's very commonly
used, and it describes someone or something that holds superior quality.
Number 3 - Exceptional
This is kind of similar to excellent but perhaps
even more so because it means something that is unusually good.
Number 4 - Outstanding
Another similar word to excellent and exceptional,
it means something that is remarkably good.
Number 5 - Superb
Superb means impressively beautiful.
So many times we use it to describe
how nice something is or how nice something looks.
Number 6 - Divine
Divine is related to something godly.
But we also use it when we want to emphasize
that something is out-of-this-world good.
Number 7 - Brilliant
Brilliant was initially used to describe something
that shines brightly. But this can be extended to a
performance or an idea that outshines the others.
Brilliant is used in that context a lot
more in British English than in American English.
But it's still very common in both countries.
Number 8 - Impressive
Something that is impressive has the ability to
blow your mind or make a great impression on you.
Number 9 - Admirable
Admirable means someone or something worthy of
a lot of respect or admiration.
Number 10 - Flawless
We use "flawless" to describe someone or something
that has no defects or faults.
Number 11 - Wonderful
Wonderful is used as a synonym for excellent.
Basically, we use it to describe something that is much better than good.
Number 12 - Great
Great is another synonym for exceptional or outstanding.
Okay, let's practice what we've learned today.
But before we do, please like our video
if you feel like you've learned something new.
Here we go! I want you to choose one word
from today's lesson. Then, in the comments below
Write a sentence about...this picture.
I'd also encourage you to read each other's sentences
because this will help you reinforce
your understanding of these words.
And if you need more time to write, you can pause the video while you're writing your sentence.
See you next time!

DIY Vertical Press / Printing / Surface Press - Duration: 11:06.
In this video I will make a vertical press which could be used for wood and lino cut
printing, embossing, pressing plant speciesism, pressing recycled HPDE flat, or even general
wooden block and veneer glue-ups.
I did a bit of research and found a few designs I liked the look of.
I imagine the first press one has a thick piece of metal recessed between the two piece
of ply at the top.
In any case I'm going to make my own version as the price tags of these are quite high.
I'm going to use a similar method to the vertical CNC stand I tried to make in November
2015, using threaded rod with large flanged nuts to create the structure.
The first thing I'm doing is cutting some 12mm threaded rod for the four columns, and
a fifth for the pressing screw.
But as long as they are more or less the same size you
I then cut the pieces for the top, bottom and plunging sections of the press, making
sure to batch the cuts so all the pieces are identical.
In this case I made all the 400mm cuts first and the 313mm afterwards.
This is going to be an A4 Press.
I also cut some straight edges with the offcuts.
I will clamp against these which will help me pull the board flat when gluing.
I set up a stop block on the pillar drill and made the 12mm holes for the rods about
30mm in from the edge.
Then you have to flip it around this way to keep it in proportion and blow any dust away.
Again you want to complete this part of the process in one go in case something moves
and you loose alignment.
Ok so this is going to be the bottom section of the press.
I glue the bottom section, using the threaded rods to help hold the pieces in place, and
then clamp that against the straight edges.
If you have a nail gun you can whack a few brads in to stop it sliding around.
The base isn't as flatter as I'd like.
I guess if I had glued more layers of thinner sheet material, the straight edges could have
pulled the surface flatter.
But I'll just add some 18mm MDF between the base and the plunging plate at a later stage.
I'm going to work on the plunging section of the press now.
I decided to drill the guide holes of the plunging section to the same diameter as some
copper pipe I had.
The original 12mm holes were too small and would snag.
The pipe or bushing should help the section move across the threaded rod a little more
easily.
I use a pipe cutter to cut the copper into 36mm lengths, and a deburring tool to clear
out the end.
I then glued the two pieces together, clamped them and while the glue was still wet pushed
the copper pieces into their openings.
I now need to bed a M12 stud connectors nuts into the top piece of the press.
I first glue and nail these together, and then drill a hole the size as the narrowest
piece of the connector nut.
This was about 18mm.
You could use a threaded rod with washers to push the nut into place but I decided to
use a lump mallet.
This was a bit silly because the nut went in at a slight angle so I had to take this
out, and file two opposite surfaces to compensate for this.
If this is not in square the plunger will snag on the threaded rod columns.
I also cut two pieces of square ply, which will make the section the pressing screw is
attached too.
I was going to use an E clip but decided for a simpler method using what I had available.
I glued and tapped one of the flanged nuts at the end of the rod.
I'm going to file the end down just to flatten it off.
I then drilled a holes with a large 35mm forstner bit, into either side of the two square pieces
I had cut to equal the thickness of the flanged nut and two washers.
This was about 6mm on one side and 17mm on the other.
One piece also had a 12mm hole for the threaded rod.
That fits in there - and there's wiggle room.
What I'm going to do now is put some grease in there so this can turn and put pressure
against here - and a bit at the top of this as well so it doesn't grind the metal down.
So the next thing I need to do is drill a 12mm hole in the centre of this bit of aluminium and
a few holes around this which will allow me to clamp (bolt) this to the top of the press.
This is going to stop the stud connector I hammered in earlier from popping out - like
a hernia.
It would have been a lot more elegant if I had tapped a thread on this plate, and recessed
it between the ply – like the example from the beginning.
I am now assembling the various parts of the press – using the press itself to glue the
two parts of the plunging plate together.
I then fix the aluminium plate to the top of the press, and secure a final stud connector
to use with a ratchet as the tightening handle.
I squashed a little bit of sweet geranium and its clear the press can apply a lot of pressure.
I'm planning to make some woodcuts with the CNC machine I'm building and then use
those with the press.
It smells good as well.
You can see the juices have come out.
Anyway I should also announce that I have set up an Etsy page which I'll use to sell
digital files along some of my videos.
So, for example if you'd like to purchase the collection of digital files for the press
you can visit my webpage – link in the card and description –
and there you will receive a fusion 360 files of the plates, as well as an Autocad DXF and
a SVF vector file, which you should be able to use as reference – taking measurement
off or with a CNC machines to cut out your own parts.
I've had some interest from people over time who've wants plans for some of the things
I've built, and I've normally ignored them but in my old age, I'm a little wise, and
a little more patient for things like this now.
I've also put the Cam Clamp files online and there'll be extra things including the swan
pushing stick and so on.
Anyway thanks again for watching and checking out my Etsy page.
Please sacrifice a thumb to the algorithm god of you haven't done so already and I'll
catch you at the next one.

An important update on "Not a Hero". - Duration: 3:11.
I'm Masachika Kawata, producer of Resident Evil 7
And I'm the director, Koshi Nakanishi
Today we have some unfortunate news to share with you
The free Not a Hero DLC which was announced for Spring 2017
is going to be delayed
We were working very hard to get the DLC ready in time for the Spring release
and we got close to completing the game content
However, in light of the incredible reception to the release of Resident Evil 7,
we concluded that this DLC was not good enough to meet those high expectations
Our aim is for this content to match the high quality of the main game,
so we need more development time in order to achieve that goal
Rest assured we'll use this time to create something our fans will love,
so we hope you understand
Of course, this DLC will still be released for free,
and we'll do our utmost to develop something great for you,
so we ask that you bear with us. Thank you!
I'm Jun Takeuchi, the Executive Producer of Resident Evil 7
As the director and producer just explained,
we've decided to delay the release of the free Not a Hero DLC
I'd like to explain briefly what led to this decision
Resident Evil 7 was supported passionately by you, our fans,
and the game was very well received
With this title we tried to both renew RE and return to its roots
and I'm truly grateful for all of your positive feedback
However, the three of us have come to the conclusion
that this free DLC is not yet ready to meet your expectations
We would therefore like to take more time to bring it up to the standard you expect
We are also working on a further piece of DLC at the moment
and we wish to deliver both of these to you
only once we are confident that they are polished
and up to the standard you expect from Resident Evil 7
I hope you can understand our decision to keep you waiting
and ask for your continued support of Resident Evil 7
Thank you!

Gamers Assembly 2017 - Gamers League - "Damien" interview - Duration: 6:57.
Hi everyone, we are still at the Gamers Assembly 2017, I am currently with Damien, I
will ask him to introduce himself for the ones that don't know him.
Hi everyone, my name is Damien Jeanneau, I am President of the Gamers League association,
a student association from Poitiers.
I am also part of the staff of the GA, serving food since it's a big adventure,
tournament admin since we offered animations for "Solo" players
and we also have a stand to present our association.
In regards to your team, since you are here with Gamers League, you have several lineups
I think, how is the tournament going?
Yes indeed, we have several lineups with League of Legends, Overwatch
and Hearthstone on which we have 5 players. Everything is going well for us since we have only
amateurs players who are often studying, and
who didn't experience high level gaming. And on of our Hearthstone players
is in the top 24 which is great!
We could have a lot of contacts and meet potential managers, which is
what we are looking for.
The Overwatch team had some difficulties since the level of the tournament is really high
so after the group stages, they went straight to the Amateur bracket but
they are still part of the competition. I didn't have much time to see with the section manager
but we have great results in regards to our expectations so it's great!
And the League of Legends team went to the "Pro" tournament which is fantastic.
They are now out but still!
So, overall, it's a great success for you this GA 2017 ?
Yes, in regards to the teams, it's really a great success
and we will for sure come back!
Fantastic. Besides Gamers League, you are
also here
as volunteer for the Gamers Assembly, part of the staff.
Can you tell us a bit more?
Yes, as I said earlier, I am at the restaurant,
and "Solo" players administration
Doing the admin of the "solo" players is a proposition we made since
there was an attempt several years ago, so we offer animations
with local associations and since we love the GA, we though we could make something great.
We offer a ranking to the "Solo" players, for them to get
goodies and prizes at the end.
For example, we got plantronics headsets
which is fantastic.
We organised mini tournaments on League of legends, 1v1, we are trying to
use quick and fun modes.
We even had the chance to organise a final of the tournament on the big stage,
for the Battleride tournament
It's really fantastic to be able to play a final on the big
stage, it's a great moment of the Gamers Assembly.
Absolutely, and the gamers really
didn't come here thinking they would end up on the stage.
So the 6 who made it to the final left with a huge smile and cup,
it was great to see!
Fantastic !
In regards to your role with the Gamers Assembly, I think that you have
short and mid-terms objectives, can you explain us?
Yes, for our association, we want to bring teams with good level,
more and more players which is important,
but also help voluntarily the event. This year,
there are approximately 380 volunteers so there are huge needs
and we want to help maintaining the event quality.
We exist because they offered us several years ago to create an association to participate to events
so now we are really eager to help them back.
So for you, whether as Gamers League or Volunteer, the Gamers Assembly
is a big success.
Yes, absolutely
We had the opportunity to meet a lot of people
on the stands, we could meet gamers with the administration of the tournament,
we created contacts with other associations, small clubs all around France,
so we will be able to meet each other .
and maybe be part of France eSport to represent
all the small local associations
During the opening ceremony, there was an announcement in regards to esports
and "Grand Poitiers", what is your opinion?
I think it is a good thing, since the maire of "Grand Poitiers" announced last year
that Poitiers wanted to become capital of esports. So we approached them and offered
different projects.
We are a bit disappointed since we wanted to be part of the esports department
and it is a small disappointment since they decided
not to follow us, but the Orks which is a local team from the area.
It's really good for the Orks but quite hard for us. But we continue offering
other activities, since having a team is not everything to us.
There are also lans, pedagogical animations using video games, and we are still in
touch with "Grand Poitiers" so we hope they will continue this way and help
us to grow even more.
Fingers crossed for you but it should be all fine for you
seeing how the overall organisation of your tournament well.
Last question which I ask everyone here, we see a lot
of big teams coming in esports, whether sports clubs,
or football clubs, or basketball clubs
What do you think about it? Good thing?
Do you believe it is only shot term?
I believe it is really interesting since it helps the industry grow.
Who says big team, says big investors and therefore investment
to develop the industry.
The GA wouldn't exist either without big investors.
The challenge now is to see what will happen locally. Will we have
something in esports with federations in charge of tournaments,
and not companies anymore?
Maybe having something like what we have in football might be interesting
with teams per city etc.
It would be really fantastic.
For sure it is something that could happen. It is just the beginning
but it can become really big.
I let you have the final word Damien.
Well, for me, I would like to say that Gamers Assembly really is a
special event that you have to attend once. It is only once a year, it is really
strong emotionally, whether as visitor, player or volunteer.
It's huge, it's great and for us a fantastic adventure which we
want to continue.
We wish you all the best and we would like to thank you since this event
wouldn't exist without all the volunteers, thank you very much!

5 Things I Wish Someone Told Me Before I Finished High School ! - Duration: 2:07.
Hey there! Kavi here again, I hope you're
having an amazing day! So five things
that I wish someone had told me before I
finished high school. Number one is don't
follow the crowd, I know that is so easy
to say but it's harder to do right?
Because sometimes people make things
look so damn fun! But you have to learn
not to follow the crowd don't just be
another sheep to add to the flock. Be your
own person, be original! Number two is
understand that there is so much more to
learn during our teens right we
developed this mindset where we think we
know everything and I know I did. But the
moment that you realize that there is
still so much more to learn out there is
the moment that you'll start to grow
because the truth is nobody knows
everything you might know a truth but
you don't know the truth. Number three is
that real friends are rare it's better
to have a handful of friends that you
can trust. Friends you can make deep and
meaningful connections with rather than
having a thousand acquaintances it's all
about quality over quantity so you want
to be making sure that you're making
connections with people that resonate
you. People you can turn to for
support. Number four is be authentic. Stop
trying to be someone else, stop trying
to live up to everyone else
expectations. Be you. be authentic because people
will love you for who you are. Everybody
is different and that's okay. And finally
number five that is money is not
everything. In high school we become
so overwhelmed trying to figure out our
future. What am I going to do for work?
How much money am I going to earn? But
the truth is money is not everything. You
want to make sure that you're chasing
your dreams. You want to make sure you're chasing
your passions, your goals in life because
only then will you be driven only then
will you be motivated and only then will you
be passionate about life! So I want you
to stop chasing money because that is
not going to make you happy. Be Authentic
Hold on to those real friends and accept
that you still have so much more to
learn. Never ever ever give into peer
pressure! Now I hope you have an amazing
day and remember right stay positive because
I'll be seeing you again really soon
