['Lookie!' Fivers: Five Movies About...Star-Crossed Lovers]

DAGMAR Hello, and welcome to this edition of 'Fivers,'

in which we sample five films about love-

SASHA -only these films are about

a specific kind of love story-

DAGMAR -where obstacles like personal circumstances-

SASHA -or even world events-

DAGMAR -conspire to separate two people.

DAGMAR This sampler features movies

about star-crossed lovers.

SASHA The phrase itself

stems from a play by William Shakespeare-

DAGMAR -about the doomed love-

SASHA -between two of the most well-known 'star-crossed' lovers of all -

DAGMAR - Romeo and Juliet (characters).

SASHA First we have...

DAGMAR In 1874, a person is born on the coldest day on earth.

SASHA A day so cold, that his heart freezes.

DAGMAR A kindly woman (Madeleine (char.)) saves his (Jack's (char.)) life,

by replacing his frozen heart

with a cuckoo clock.

SASHA But she (Madeleine) warns him-

SASHA -as he (Jack) grows older-

SASHA -that there are three things he must remember,

in order to survive...

a [runaway] crown princess

is rescued by a journalist-

about the runaway royal

to the highest bidder.

DAGMAR - he falls in love with her.

SASHA The runaway royal

is self-absorbed and

thoughtless -

DAGMAR - but eventually learns a hard lesson-

SASHA -when forced to choose between

her duty to a nation -

DAGMAR - and her own heart.

SASHA Next, we have a 'Romeo and Juliet' pair-

DAGMAR -separated by conflicting allegiances.

SASHA It happens that their allegiances are to North-

DAGMAR -and South-

SASHA -Korea.

DAGMAR One is a sniper,

who's sworn to complete a mission

to assassinate several politicians -

SASHA - even at the cost of her own life.

DAGMAR The other

is an agent

on the other side -

SASHA - who has to stop her.

DAGMAR The story spotlights violence-

SASHA -news 'spin'-

DAGMAR -duty-

SASHA -rebellion-

SASHA -sacrifice-

DAGMAR -and ideologies at war -

SASHA - but addresses broader political issues

in visceral

and intensely personal ways.

DAGMAR Next, a rebellious and strong-willed advocate (Saamiya Siddiqui (char.))

meets a silent prisoner,

and tries to make sense of a case-

SASHA -with a puzzling

mystery at its heart.

DAGMAR Veer (title character) has been in prison for 22 years.

He (Veer) speaks to no one-

SASHA -and seems indifferent

as to whether he lives

or dies.

DAGMAR His (Veer's) visitor (Saamiya Siddiqui (char.))

is finally able

to break through the wall of silence.

DAGMAR But although this stoic prisoner

is willing to stay silent

unto the grave-

SASHA -his visitor refuses to let an innocent person

die in prison.

DAGMAR The prisoner refuses to speak up

to save himself.

DAGMAR But his counselor finds one person -

SASHA - who will.

DAGMAR Along with an epic love story,

the film features

lavish musical numbers,

which help relate Veer and Zaara's (title characters) love story-

SASHA -and their final fates.

DAGMAR And, finally...

SASHA The five films already mentioned

are stories about fictional lovers.

DAGMAR But here's a bonus title

DAGMAR about real-life lovers-

SASHA -separated by fate.

DAGMAR Historical drama, 'Адмиралъ' (Rus.),

or 'Admiral' (Eng.) (2008).

DAGMAR (shoot to side) The film relates the story

of poet Anna Timiryova (Анна Васильевна Тимирёва),

and naval commander Alexander Kolchak (Алекса́ндр Васи́льевич Колча́к).

SASHA In this case, political events separate them,

when [Alexander] Kolchak is executed in 1920,

at the age of 45.

DAGMAR [Anna] Timiryova lives for years afterwards,

but her life is made a misery

by the Soviet regime (orig.: régime)-

SASHA -as she's (Timiryova) considered to be

an 'enemy of the state'-

DAGMAR -due to her early connection to Kolchak.

SASHA As is the case with historical dramas,

the movie is a blend of fact and fiction -

DAGMAR - [for example,] private conversations would, of course, have to be imagined and scripted,

but otherwise, the majority of scenes are actually based on substantiated material.

SASHA The main theme

from the soundtrack for the film

is titled, 'Anna'- [Note: 'Anna' (song) composed by Igor Matvienko; performed by Victoria Dayneko.]

DAGMAR -and the lyrics are from a poem [Anna] Timiryova wrote about [Alexander] Kolchak -

- half a century after Kolchak's death,

Not only victories and defeats

But also all the values that sports teach us

So I thought that in a place like this

It would make a big difference I also saw that the local girls were quite deprived

So I thought if I could make the girls play a sport

It would make a big change in the area

Shivani is a very special example

Because she comes from a very poor background And she is very sporting

So it was always my dream That she should get out of this village

Prove herself

And see how kids at her age

And her level in Germany can play

I didn't know anything about this before

When Andrea came here, she got me to start playing hockey

In a short while

Girls from a local school started playing hockey with us

And we would all study there

I even went to Germany I would have to play hockey 6 days a week

Where I played centre forward for my team

The other players were quite good

And would always support me And if I did something wrong while playing

They would teach me the right way to do it

Going from a small town to such a big city

Was a huge change

The same sport that we would once scold her for playing

Has now helped her to travel abroad

We are very proud of her

It feels great that my sister has achieved so much

She is now a role model

And I hope that other girls will follow her example

The children here have no vision in life

We are thankful if they are even allowed to study

But that's all

Sometimes, even without finishing school

They get married

And that's it

But sports will give them a future

And the willpower to say no

And to live their own lives

This will help us send even more girls out

Because even if not every girl can go abroad

It will encourage other girls Not just in this village

But in the area, in Rajasthan and even in India

That it's possible And if you want to do it, you can

The player who went (to Germany) with me this year is Brijesh

He just graduated from our school

He came second in his batch

Which is great

Because we always have to prove that

sports helps with education too So it was good that Brijesh

got such high marks And he's the role model for us to show

That sports and education are the keys to success

We have left it up to the children

We have told all three of our kids

To keep up their studies and play whichever sport they are interested in

We have played in quite a few tournaments We won some, we lost some

Sometimes we win trophies, sometimes prize money

Since then, I've seen a lot of changes here

And this can help me go further in my career

Well, it's pretty much the biggest change you can make

I lived in Berlin, the capital of Germany

I lived in a penthouse and drove an Audi TT

I've traded in all that For a dusty little room in a village

But I enjoy living such a basic lifestyle I enjoy being here in the dust

I think I can do my work well Only if I live in the same conditions as the children

Because only then will we understand each other

My father said to me, "Andrea, just think it over"

"Because you're not Mother Teresa"

Back then, I found that a bit weird

Because I would never compare myself with Mother Teresa

I'm just doing something that I like

It just turned out to be for a social cause We had to go from house to house

And from school to school To ask parents and principals for permission

to take the kids out And explain why and how

we were doing what we were doing

But there are also parents who appreciate

what I'm trying to do They have trusted me

Even if they don't say it in front of me Sometimes their neighbours ask them

"How can you send your child to this foreigner?"

"She's teaching them western culture" "She's converting them to Christianity"

And all that bullsh*t Now at least, they say, "No, that's not true"

But it's been a great success The kids came back after two months

They were healthy

They had great experiences staying with German families

They improved their English

They played with German teams They had no reason to hide

Their game was good They even strengthened the

German team of the same age group

Which showed me that we are on the right track

We can do anything The sky is the limit

We've benefited a lot from this But the kids who come after us will benefit even more

I hope this foundation keeps going like this

And more kids like me get help from them

People got fascinated by the fact that

I'm supporting India's national sport

That's when I understood that it was hockey!

So I thought it would be so cool if I could make that change

SAMURAI JACK | The Horseman and Ghost Jack AREN'T Hallucinations! Jack's Imagination Brought to LIFE - Duration: 4:10.

Since the beginning of Season 5, it appeared as though Samurai Jack was plagued by apparitions

and illusions of shadowy figures; and ghosts of his previous self.

For the longest time it was assumed these were mere figments of his imagination.

With what we've seen in season 5, episode 6 with the ominous Horseman that has been

following Jack through his travels, it appears as though these are no longer illusions haunting

Jack – but real projections possibly thought into existence by Jack's mindset.

How is it possible for Jack to bring his thoughts to life?

The answer can be found in The Law of Vibration, which is where thought waves, which are measurable

and therefore very real (in scientific terms) vibrate at certain frequencies depending on

their content and which emotions are driving them.

Thought waves are a form of energy and those vibrating waves of energy attract other forms

of energy vibrating on the same frequency.

In real terms, this means if you're thinking about death, you're emitting thought vibrations

on that frequency which attracts anything related to that thought pattern that is also

emitting the same frequency.

We know that Jack's body, the composition of his molecular structure was altered by

the time portal – his energy vibrations have also been altered, which means his thoughts

work on a different frequency – potentially on a level where he is able to think things

into existence.

The Horseman that Jack saw began as a mere illusion based on his thoughts, but was brought

to life upon the vibrations of his energy.

He was close to giving in to this astral projection of his negative thoughts, until Ashi stepped

in – Ashi was able to see the Horseman because of the strength of Jack's projection of

the figure.

In fact, Ashi stood no chance of actually being able to defeat the Horseman; it was

ultimately up to Jack to overcome his thoughts of death to ultimately defeat the projection

he put out into the world in the form of the Horseman.

Ashi convinced Jack that his cause is just and he's indeed done more good than harm,

giving Jack the energy to defeat the negative energy he initially placed into the world

in the form of the Horseman.

The Law of Vibration – it holds true for Jack, which means that if he were to succumb

to the thoughts of the ghost form of the previous version of Jack, he too would be forced into

existence much like the Horseman.

This is obviously a power that Jack knows not how to control or the reasoning behind

it.

Much like his stunted aging.

It might also be believed that the Horseman was in fact a Shinigami, a Grim Reaper of

sorts in Japanese folklore.

Though the Horseman does in fact have elements that are akin to a Shinigami, I personally

do not believe it is in fact one.

The Shinigami is typically depicted as a facilitator of death, simply escorting those towards the

end of their lifespan to the other side.

The Horseman's aggressive ways in episode 6 don't strike me as a gentle nudge towards

the afterlife – he wanted Jack dead, even if it meant killing those who stood in his

way.

But of course, it is possible they borrowed from the Japanese folklore of the Shinigami,

I must admit.

But ultimately, I believe Jack has the mental capacity to think certain things into existence,

Umbrella Skirt Cutting And Stitching | Long Umbrella Skirt Cutting & Stitching - Tailoring With Usha - Duration: 14:39.

hello friends, today m going to teach you umbrella skirt cutting and stitching

the measurement is like this

length of skirt excluding belt 39 inch

waist 31 inch

this is my fabric which is near about 2.5 meters, and also kept this after folding

that means this fabric is in 2 layers

at one corner, put inch-tape and mark half of waist i.e 31/2=15.5 inch

further from 15.5 inch take length of skirt + 2 inch i.e 31+2=41 inch

now from the same point mark half of waist on opposite side too

and assume the corner as center and draw a curve of 15.5 inch like this

now draw another curve of 41 inch measurement from the waist curve like this

first i'll complete it, and further we have to insert a joint which I teach you

these are two curves of our umbrella skirt, this is waist curve and this is bottom curve

but there our fabric is not sufficient, so first cut these curves and after that from remaining fabric we insert a joint

after cutting these curves i'll proceed further

after cutting, now place remaining fabric 0.5 inch beneath skirt's fabric for stitching

and now take inch-tape and mark 41 inch and do curving too, after curving i'll show you the drafting

like this our curving is completed, now cut this joint

and also cut this joined fabric too

this is the cutting of umbrella skirt, and like in the same way we cut the lining of it

and from remaining fabric we make our belt, but before that we insert darts/pleats in front part

in back part we insert elastic, after inserting pleats in front part i'll also teach you how to cut belt

in stitching, first of all we join this remaining fabric matching right to right

start sewing from boundary till the bottom curve and after that do press stitching on it, after this i'll proceed further

now take one piece of fabric, flip it on wrong side and insert pleats and this will be our front piece of skirt

after folding fabric in 2 layers, now from open side mark 1 inch, this is point for the stitching

after that measure it till close part and then 1/4 of waist i.e 31/4=7.75 inch

and thus the remaining fabric is for our pleats which is near about 3.2 inch, and we insert 4 pleats

2 in front of this fabric and 2 in back

for inserting pleats, first from close side mark 2.5 inch and further mark half of 3.2 inch i.e near about 1.6 inch

this is one pleat, after that further take 2.5 inch and again mark 1.6 inch for the second pleat

and now take center of both pleats and in length take 5 to 6 inch from the center

draw a straight line like this and join the 2 points from length mark like this, like this we make 4 pleats

these pleats we insert on the wrong side, take it and transfer pleats measurement on other side too

after inserting all 4 pleats i'll proceed further

after inserting darts or pleats on wrong side, it will look like this on right side

now match wrong of lining and wrong of skirt fabric and sew it simply on waist part, after that in the same way sew lining on back piece

and after that we insert elastic in back piece

after joining lining on front and back piece, now take back piece & measure from waist part, it comes 25 inch

so 25 inch in width and 4 inch in length, we make our waist band from this remaining fabric and then insert elastic

cut elastic 3 to 4 inch less than half of waist, i already told you how to insert elastic

after inserting elastic i'll proceed further

after inserting elastic, now take front piece and measure its waist part and cut belt roll equal to it & paste it on remaining fabric

after pasting belt roll, now match wrong side of skirt and right side of belt fabric and sew it alongside waist

now take belt to right side, fold it like this and sew it, after that our belt will be ready

after making belt, now sew front and back piece matching right to right

at some distance sew lining fabric with main fabric together and after that separate lining fabric and sew main fabric till bottom

and after that sew lining till end

this I already taught you in video of "HOW TO MAKE GHAGRA FROM SAREE"

and also "HOW TO MAKE SHARARA"

after completing it i'll proceed further

after completing side stitching, this will look like this, at this point we sew it together and after that sewing is done separately

after that at bottom fold lining fabric too, and take this to right side

now mark required length from top and double fold it, if you wish you can also insert lace on it

after completing all this i'll upload a pic of it
