We like having these conversations, just
in general, because Roxane in I like
having these conversations. But we would
really like to know what you want to
have conversations about? What would you
like to talk about? Because as we play, we
actually have a fascination with a lot
of things that are going on in a lot of
different areas besides just the nature
of that whole spiritual shift in
consciousness that we're playing in and
what is happening to each one of us. But
what would you like to talk about? What
would you like to know about? My
only caveat, we're not really not going
to do aliens and conspiracy.
Conspiracies are blatantly in your face,
they're not even underground anymore. So
you can talk about lots of things going
on. What do you want to know about?
So, on Facebook why don't you tell us what
you would like to talk about and we will
begin to kind of move in some of those
directions. Weave it in.
Jim I'm noticing little things, little
changes sneaking into my life and into
the lives of everyone that taken
individually can just be shrugged off
and it's not a big deal but but I'm
watching more and more little things
change that are kind of beyond my
control and I'm wondering when they pile
up if there's going to be unintended,
unintended consequences down the line
like for example the cable bill goes up
every single month and we're not adding
anything to it and it's going up you
know a dollar, a few dollars, but over time
it's twice as much as when we first
started and we're paying for some things
we don't watch at all, you know we're paying for
sports channels. Yeah, well there's going to be
lots of unintended consequences. So if
you look at it from the standpoint of
you're in this huge shift and this shift
is changing a lot of things, we know
that part, but when you get down to the
point where you're talking about it's
really interesting, it's kind of like
being the frog in the boiling water and
you're winding up with technology is
huge, technology is moving us into
different directions and so how much of
what you are experiencing is on your
terms? I think that's really the question.
Well in another example would be in
Switzerland I think it is they quit
completely eliminated 100-dollar bill.
Sweden. Sweden and there's talk about
that happening now. Well for most people
they never even see a hundred-dollar
bill so it's not a big deal and then
there's talk about then eliminating the
fifty-dollar bill so it's not it's you
can shrug it off but I wonder what's
down the line or how it's going forward? So the question
is who's in charge? I guess. Who's in charge
of your life? How are you making decisions? So
take the hundred-dollar bill.
Yeah. This is something I've
actually asked a lot of people, thinking
that it probably would be a big deal.
It's not. So I ask people, how often
you use hundred-dollar bill? I don't.
Great. So one of the things that the
kind of 'powers to be' are interested
in is when you look at the whole world
economy and the world nature of money
there really is a very significant
problem. You get so much debt and you
don't the capacity to pay it back. But
one of the things that happens if I can
take away all the money and I can have a
digital system then I can basically
control the money, the powers to be would
say, that I mean this is real not
conspiracy it's how it's unfolding. So in the
United States you're probably going to
see within the next three years the
hundred-dollar bill disappear and very
likely you'll see the fifty-dollar bill
disappear but when does the
twenty-dollar bill disappear. Now
we're getting into...wait, I don't know
what to do. But if you look at the
millennial's the millennial's don't really
care. I mean really they don't care. When
you ask them it does money mean
something to you in terms of carrying
cash and coins around, not really, they
are more than happy to use their credit
cards or debit cards the various means
of doing things. So you're watching this
society being moved in a direction that
maybe you have some level control over,
some not so much level of control. You
get things like Windows 7 is a good
operating system on Microsoft but
because of all of the add-ons that all
of the changes Windows 7 is about to
go away. But windows 7 is a very
fundamental business structure people in
business use Windows 7 and now you wind
up getting something new. So how often do
all these new things that we get handed
to us really support us? There's nothing
we can do to change that, I can't do
anything about the bill or the
hundred-dollar bill or the
numerous other things but I think it's
important to know that they're happening.
Well sure, so let's look at your cable
bill, so one of the things about your
cable bill, you're constantly being
charged but some really significant
portion of the cable bill simply goes to
pay the franchise fees that the cable
company has for all the sports channels.
So if you're not a sports person why are
you paying you know thirty, forty percent
of your bill towards that? You wind
up getting numbers of things that are
happening in technology, lets go to
another area so you hear this statistic
thrown around that eighty percent of the
jobs in the united states have now gone
to immigrants. Well actually that's not
true, eighty percent of the jobs that
have disappeared in the last ten years
have gone to automation and robotics. So
people are out of work and you're going
to see in the next couple of years this
whole concept of A.I. technology, people
saying well that's way off in
the future. No it's not way off in the future.
It's two to three years away in levels
that you cannot even imagine. So and I
think the context of where we're going
is how much about your life are you
paying attention to and how much of your
life is just gently being moved into an
area where all of a sudden you have a
whole new technology like cell phones
and everybody walks around cell phones
but you're paying eighty dollars a month
for the cell phone where you used to
have a landline sitting on your counter
that you picked up and you made a
telephone call. Well people say well it's
so much more important. Well how much
more important? Really that whole
nature of social media, not good or bad,
but how consumed do we get in social
media and that how important is it that
you're telling people that you had
breakfast at Denny's this morning. So
you're beginning to watch this whole
shifting of direction but the question
is how much does that pertain to you and
so you you you get consumed
in things. So there's a whole another
piece that I actually have some concern
about in this shift because it is going
to happen, whether it was it happens this year or
two years or three years it it's not
clear but for example if you if you
consumer confidence reports that are out
there, consumer confidence about
economies right now are as high as they
were in 2007 when they were up at peaks.
There as high as they are in 2001 when
they are were up at their peaks. I just, I
just read the other day that for March
housing... the buying new and used houses
is higher than it was in 2007. Yeah,
except...yeah and all that's going on. Except
in 2001 you had the dot-com crash
because it was all built on nothing.
Nothing. 2007 you as a housing crash
because it was all built on gambling by
those that played at that higher levels.
So the individual gets moved around in
this whole process. So if you have
another crash in the stock market, let's
just use that word... what happens is the
unintended consequences move around.
Then you begin to watch some of these things
without being political you have this
whole movement that says get rid of
government. Well my experience with that
is when you start to just slash away at
things and you pull this and you pull
out that and you basically eliminate
this, it really is like having a road
system that you just take twenty percent
of the road system away. Well think about
that where all of a sudden one road doesn't lead
to another road. You have a disconnect.
You have these unintended consequences
and so in the next number of years there
is a huge positive side but there is
going to be these unintended
consequences. And I think the reason
we're having this conversation is how
are you paying attention? Yeah. Are you
paying attention and so where is your
retirement plan is it all in the
Stock Market? You know and you're 59 years old
well we just watch that happen to people
in the 2007 housing crash, devastating.
And the .com retirement plans were devastated
but if you're now 59, 60, 67 and you're
counting on that... are you paying
attention? So if you've got lots of
movement around and you've got dominoes
that are going to fall, where they fall
some will be benign and some will start
a chain of unintended consequences. So we
can talk about the really great things
because there are really great things
but this conversation is really not
about beware the sky is falling because
that's not a message. The conversation
really is about are you paying attention
and what are those potential unintended
consequences in your own reality? Now I
would like to kind of take this into the
positive point and maybe we'll do that
in next week's conversation because
things like artificial intelligence,
things that are beginning to happen in
biomedical and different technologies,
they are going to change the reality, the
landscape of the playing field. But this
piece of unintended consequences...pay attention...
that says pay attention. Yeah.
