5 things I DON'T LIKE about Korea - Duration: 8:12.

Hello everyone 안녕하세요~

I'm WooLara from Korea

So many of you who are watching my video seem to like Korea so much!

If you listen to Kpop or watch Kdrama

Korea seems to be romantic and exiting

And people seem to like Korea because of those things!

Today, I'm thinking to break some fantasies of Korea!! (Dun dun dun)

I'm going to tell you 5 things that I don't like about Korea :)

First thing

It's a very big problem nowadays

The AIR pollution!

People who have watched my Vlogs or followed my Instagram would know this

I'm wearing masks on the streets all the time

Air condition in Korea is extremely poor nowadays

I think it was from last year that the air condition became poor

So called fine dust and ultrafine particles are floating in the air

It's really hard to breathe well outside T-T

Every single day

It's not even yellow dust. Fine dust is worse than that and it's everywhere everyday

Seoul is selected as one of the top 3 cities that have the worst air condition in the world hahaha.... :(

Second thing: It's too cold in winter, and it's too hot in summer

Winter in Korea is super cold

For example, it goes minus 10 degree in winter

But you actually feel that it's like minus 20 degree because it's super windy and dry

Personally I find it really difficult to put makeups because it's too dry

And just because it's cold outside, if you wear too many clothes

You'll going to regret

I use the subway a lot. Subways or buses

If you get in the office or the lecture room if you are student, it's tooooo hot

Since the outside is terribly cold, people turn on the heater too much and it's not warm. It's too hot inside!

Contrary, in summer it's too hot

The temperature goes up more than 30 degree but unlikely to winter, it's toooo humid

So it's too unpleasant if you bump into someone (because it's too humid)

And if you wear just sleeveless shirts because it's too hot outside, indoor places will be too cold to you

And one BIG reason that I hate summer is because of: TOO MANY mosquitos!!!!

When I lived in England, I was shocked

There's no mosquitos in summer!

There even once I told to my friend that there were too many mosquitos in summer in Korea,

He replied me asking "What's mosquitos?"

I lived in England in 2013

And I thought the summer in England was awesome

It was hot, but if you are in the shadow, it gets cool

Ironically, there were news in 2013,

More than 700 English people died because the heatwave in that 2013 summer

I don't know if that number's true, but I thought if Korea had this summer, it would be a heaven.

Third thing: People mind other people's businesses too much

For example, if someone sees their friends gained weight

What?! How would you gain so much weight like this?!

You gained weight because you are eating these things!

They might say this straight away

If you put too much makeup,

Hey your makeup is too thick!

They might say this

And if you look tired or if you have dark circles under your eyes

Omg look at your dark circles! It's too obvious!

You look too tired!

They will say this(so often)

And there's some steps that people mind other's businesses

First step: when you are a student

You should study well to go to good university!

You are a high school student and you want to hang out with friends?!

Second step: if you've got into university

You should study hard to get into good companies!

Why do you want to play games!? You are a university student! (Grow up!)

Hang out with your friends when you get into the company and have time for weekends

Third step: If you get a job

Are you saving money well?

If you want to get married, you should save much money

But I think you are always hanging out with your friends and wasting money! How can you get married later?

Stop acting like a child! Adults don't play games. Come on!

Forth step: When you get married

So you bought a house? You didn't?!

When are you going to have babies?

You know it's bad to have babies when you get old

Fifth step: After having a baby

When are you having a second child?

This goes on and on

Later, when children grow up

Do they study well?

You should send your children to private academies! Or they won't go to the good high schools

This is driving me crazy.......

Forth thing: Women's right

This is one of the hot issues in Korea nowadays (I'm going to speak English because I'm scared of Koreans lol)

Korea is a very conservative country

When I went to a good university in Seoul,

Someone said to me like this

Oh you are so pathetic! Think about this

When you graduate from the university

You are at least 24(Korean age :D)

Let's say, if you take an year out

You'll be at least 25, when you graduate from your university

You know, the value of women decrease from the age 25!

Women are like Christmas cakes

After 25, if women couldn't get married, they are all stocks that aren't sold

How to make campfire damper - Duration: 3:38.

Now, there is nothing more Australian than an Aussie damper.

Of course, this has been made in Australia for hundreds of years.

Started off with swagmen making it with a little bit of flour

and some sugar and some water.

They had such limited supplies.

And, truthfully, you don't need much more than that

to make an incredible damper.

So I've got some flour in here. This is plain flour.

You could use self-raising flour as well.

I'm going to put five teaspoons of baking powder,

a good teaspoon of bicarb soda and then about a teaspoon of salt.

I've got some butter, right?

So we're going to throw in some butter and some cheese.

And then what we do is we kind of just work these ingredients in

until you get that consistency

that looks like coarse breadcrumbs, I guess.

Damper's one of those really special Aussie things

that, you know, I remember the first time I made it,

I was with my mum and my brother by a river pretty similar to this

and we wrapped it around a stick.

We toasted it on a stick. It's a bit like toasted marshmallows, I suppose.

But a beautiful Aussie family tradition.

The next thing we're going to do is get some buttermilk. About a cup.

OK.

Right, next, you're gonna kind of shape it.

So you can sort of push it down and just form it

into something about the same size as your pan.

I'm going to cook it in one of these incredible campfire stoves,

I like to call it, which is this guy right here.

It's made out of cast iron, so it retains the heat really well,

but it takes a bit of time for the heat to penetrate,

which is the really important thing.

Take a little bit of oil.

A couple of tablespoons.

Don't preheat your pot. That's the most important thing.

Grab your damper like that.

Pop the lid on and we are ready to cook.

So, find yourself a nice little spot right in the middle there

and then you sort of pony up some of these coals to the side

so it's going to cook nice and evenly

and then even dig up a little shovelful

and stick it right on the top just like that.

35, 40 minutes, you're going to have a beautiful damper

that everyone's going to love.

Let's give it a little look-see.

Sit it on the side there and get rid of some of those coals.

(BLOWS)

So once you've brushed off some of those coals,

bring it up here a little closer

and then I'm just going to lift that off.

Ho-ho! Look at that!

I've got a little bit of parmesan cheese

and I think this is a really nice way to finish a damper like this off.

Just get the fine grater on your box grater.

Just grate a little bit of cheese straight over the top

and it's going to melt.

Alright, so you can see that cheese is starting to melt on the top

and all the way down.

Oh, let's have a look.

Fantastic.

And then, of course, just with a serrated knife,

you can go ahead, break through that crust.

Oh, yes!

Look at that. Still beautiful and soft on the inside.

Seeing I'm out here in the Aussie bush, I'm going all the way.

I've got my Vegemite. (CHUCKLES)

Well, it doesn't get much better than this, does it?

Mmm!

(CHUCKLES)

Campfire get-ahead tips - Duration: 1:43.

We camp for all different reasons.

Sometimes you want to take the kids

and you want to be sitting around the campfire

and all the time cooking and having fun.

And other times, let's face it, you want it to be really simple

and you don't want to have to do that much cooking.

So here's a little secret.

Do all the prep work ahead of time at home.

You can bring stuff in Ziploc bags like my meatballs, for instance,

that I've cooked in a tomato sauce

and I have right here in a Ziploc bag.

And when it comes time to do the cooking,

you're literally just kind of warming stuff back through.

Over here I've got the sauce which I'm going to cook my eggs in.

So into another cast iron pan.

And don't forget, cast iron is your absolute friend when you go camping

because it really retains the heat.

You're not going to burn the handles by sticking it in the fire.

OK, so those two things there.

What I'm going to do, actually,

is move this down straight on to the coals

and then up above, I'm going to use this to toast a little bread on.

Up here,

I've got my ranchero sauce.

So when it comes time to making a delicious breakfast,

you just get your eggs.

You can crack them straight into your ranchero sauce.

So whether you're making a beautiful meatball sub sandwich...

Let's get some of those hot meatballs.

Ohh! Delicious.

Ohh!

I'm not sure what to do - wait for the huevos rancheros,

which are going to be delicious, or just dig right in to my meatball sub?

Yeah, I do know what to do.

(CHUCKLES)

Mmm!

Yum!

Lighthouse In The Night - Duration: 8:13.

[Drew Brown:] (whispering) Shhhhhh.

This is Ivy and Cleo and they're sleeping

but you guys are watching WhatImDoingRightNow.

[ Mechanism whirring ]

[Michael Aranda:] Todd. [Todd Williams:] Hello, Michael.

[Michael:] What are we doin' today? [Todd:] We're going to uh—to another meeting.

To—to, uh, pitch a thing, and then that's it. Hopefully that goes well.

[Michael:] Today we're meeting Quilty Box. Uh...

[Todd:] Round two. [Michael:] I wrote up this proposal for them

about the project that we want to do for them.

So hopefully they like it and want to pay us money to do it.

[Michael:] Quilty Box, here we go.

[ Dance music ]

[Michael:] We just had a meeting and uh..

(Laughing) Todd and I both felt like it went better than we were expecting it to.

So, I—I guess this is good? This is—I mean, not I guess, it is good.

[Todd:] Yeah, yeah.

[Michael:] Umm— [Todd:] They—They were excited about it, so—

[Michael:] So the next steps are that we're going to, uh…

We proposed building a set for the videos that they want.

So we're gonna put together an itemized breakdown

of what it will cost to build this set

and uh… then present that to them.

Hopefully they still give the thumbs up and then I guess we'll build the thing.

[Todd:] Hmm hm hmm. Hmm hmm!

[Michael:] I have two bits of housekeeping for you today.

1. We're running a little bit low on community-submitted intros.

You'll notice at the beginning of these videos, uh… someone is featured introducing the episode.

So if that's a thing you would like to do, just film an intro,

then visit bitly.com/arandabox and you'll find a place you can upload it

and it'll come straight to our computers.

Secondly, all of these videos get captioned before they go live.

They have closed captions all the way through. They're very nicely done.

and we did that not only to make these videos more accessible to those that are deaf or hard of hearing,

but also if you're in a loud place and you just can't turn the volume up

or, you know, sometimes I just, for whatever reason, watch TV with captions on and the volume really low.

But we also need people to help us get those captions done.

Right now, the captioning process of these videos is a significant hurdle

to getting the videos out in a timely manner.

So if you're interested in helping out, you can send an email to

kyla@synemastudios.com [*correction: kylapyne@synemastudios.com*]

and she will get you set up in our Arandanauts Slack, where we have several channels.

One of which is dedicated to transcribing the videos.

But it's also where a bunch of people in this community get together

to just talk about Minecraft... or food... or music.

So again, if that's a thing that interest you, uh, you can email Kyla and she'll get you set up on there.

[Michael:] Hi, Abby. [Nick Jenkins:] She's limping.

[ Abby coughs ] [Michael:] Oh, did you hurt your legs?

[Nick:] She hurt her back. [Michael:] Well, okay.

[Nick:] It's very sad. [chuckles] [Michael:] Bye, Abby.

[Nick:] Bye. [Michael:] Bye. Goodbye!

[Michael:] Before we jump into the business part— [Todd:] Oh.

[Michael:] I just have to point out to the vlog, look who's on Skype!

Mr. Howard Logan George IV [Logan George:] Hi.

[ Todd laughs ] [Michael:] Did I get that right?

You are the fourth, right? [Logan:] Uh huh, yeah.

[Michael:] Okay, good. [Todd:] Oh, it's a good name.

[ Rattling noise ]

[ Rattling and spraying noise ]

[Katelyn Salem:] Hi.

[Michael:] What are you doing? [Katelyn:] I'm making elements.

[Michael:] What element is this?

[Katelyn:] Magnesium or aluminum. [ Laughs ]

I haven't decided yet. [Michael:] What element is this?

[Katelyn:] (Laughing) It's either magnesium or aluminum.

[Michael:] Oh, okay. What is that?

[Katelyn:] This is half of an Earth and this little moat that I just made on the styrofoam

is going to be where the upper— upper mantle goes.

Which is gonna be jello. And I made a mess. [chuckles]

[Michael:] Kitty.

[Ceri Riley:] But I also need to get this done. [Index:] Meow!

[Katelyn:] I guess that means you're going. [Index:] Meow!

[Michael:] Are you gonna go jogging? [Kelsey Cote:] It's up for debate.

[Michael:] Are you gonna go jogging? [Katelyn:] No! I have to build an Earth!

[Michael:] Are you gonna go jogging? [Ceri:] Maybe, but I'm working on a script for you.

[Michael:] How many subscribers does SciShow have right now?

[Ceri:] Over 4 million. [Michael:] 'Cause this was when we had 2 million.

[Ceri:] It's probably double that now. [ Michael sarcastically inhales in disbelief]

[ Dance music ]

[Michael:] I just jogged 5.01 miles, in 45 minutes.

Which is the 8th fastest pace I have recorded for that uh, distance

on Runkeeper ever, which is not bad.

[Michael:] How's it coming? [Katelyn:] Um... it's a'ight.

Layers of the Earth. So now, the layers have to be filled.

[Michael:] Oooooh! For some reason, that just makes me think of Terraria.

[ Synth drone ]

[Michael:] This is the earliest that I have been awake in a long time.

[Michael:] Good morning, Katelyn. [Katelyn:] Good morning, Michael.

[Michael:] Good morning, Ceri, in the dark. [Ceri:] Good morning.

[Michael:] Look, a Lighthouse in the night!

The Monkey Bar Gymnasium.

[ Peppy, whimsical music ]

[ Dance music ]

[ Michael groans ]

[ Katelyn groans in response ] [Michael:] I can hardly hold up my phone…

Hopefully I can keep this up longer than a week, which is, I think, how long I went last time.

[ Katelyn laughs ] I was like, "I'm gonna go to Monkey Bar again."

[Michael:] How do you feel about Monkey Bar? [Kelsey:] I would feel better if I…

had understood what the board was telling me. [Michael:] I think she wrote it confusingly on the board.

[Kelsey:] How I read it was that you are supposed to just go through it, like, all continuously.

And then for deadlifts, you were supposed to do up to 10 reps 2-3 times,

so that's what I was doing each time.

[Michael:] How'd you feel about Monkey Bar? [Ceri:] It was alright.

I feel like I didn't get as intense of a workout as I could have.

My limiting factor on the pushups was the fact that I couldn't do pushups

mostly because a lot of my strength is in my legs.

[Michael:] You know what I've always told people about you?

[Ceri:] Hm? [Michael:] "Ceri, her strength is all in her legs."

Right, cat?

[Kelsey:] Meow. [Michael:] Riiiight.

You know what's happening today? Congress is voting on the Trumpcare bill.

Do you know why they're voting on it today? [Ceri:] No…

[Michael:] They were supposed to vote on it yesterday but they realized they didn't have the votes.

So they were like, "Let's not—Let's not vote on it today."

But then yesterday, Trump was like, "You guys are gonna vote on it tomorrow

or else I'm just gonna leave Obamacare in place."

But, the dumbest thing about the whole thing is that Trump is part of the what branch of government?

[Katelyn:] Executive. [Michael:] Executive.

And Congress is the what branch of government?

[Katelyn:] Uhhhhh… [Michael:] Legislative.

[ Everyone laughs ] So, the executive branch can't be like,

"Legislative branch, you're not allowed to write and t-try to pass bills."

So, Trump has zero power to "leave Obamacare in place."

If Congress next week is like,

"Here's another bill that we made that alters healthcare,"

then they can pass it, and then it goes to Trump's desk.

This is just some of his, like—

[Katelyn:] Trump doesn't understand how to be the president is what's going on.

[Ceri:] Yeah, he's very good at whining and, like, being loud about things.

[Kelsey:] Their whole thing, the Republican's whole thing,

was that this, uh, care—this health care was much smaller than Obamacare.

"We simplified everything! We made it easy!"

Blah blah blahblahblah.

They took out all of the important stuff,

but they made sure to add a page about people who win the lottery.

And if you win the lottery, you can be taken off health care

because you can afford it now.

[Ceri:] I didn't read too much about it, but I read something that said

the cuts that they've made to the bill have made it such that

when they retire from Congress or are voted out of office

then many of the people are above an age range where they probably won't have health care anymore.

So they're voting out, potentially, their own personal health care.

[ Dance music ]

[Michael:] Just minutes before, uh, the House was gonna vote

on this new health care bill to repeal Obamacare, the House leaders decide to pull the bill

because it was very obvious that they did not have enough support for it.

I can't decide if I feel like it's a more satisfying defeat

to see them pull the bill like this

or if they had just gone through with the vote and lost.

Either way, I think that this was a bad bill—

It was an incomplete bill, it wasn't even ready for primetime yet.

But, uh… it's not gonna be a thing. So that's good.

[ Uplifting music ]

- Put down that tiny bow!

- You cannot beat Van. - Oh, no, I can.

I am pretty good.

- Well, let me rephrase. You ought not beat Van.

- Why? He took my office from me.

- She's dreamt about that since she was

a really boring child.

- Look, honey, we all think you deserve that office.

- But there's something bigger at stake here.

- I think there's something you need to see.

[dramatic music]

- Employee of the Month?

I didn't even know we had this room.

- Oh, it's one of the many things we keep from you.

Like the secret bathroom on the sales floor

that's always empty and... does not exist.

I don't know why I said that. - Mm-hmm.

- We make sure Van wins every month

because there was one time he didn't.

Recognize this lady?

- No. - Exactly.

[cheers and applause]

Kate won her first month here.

So, when Van caught her taking a "company croissant"

from a staff meeting home with her...

- He fired her on the spot.

And after he demanded a "recount,"

it turned out Van actually won.

- I don't know. [chuckles]

[light applause]

- Yeah!

Whoo!

- [chuckling]

- So you guys give him this every month

just to stroke his ego?

- Oh, no, no, no. We do it to survive.

- If you beat Van, it won't just be bad for you,

it will be bad for all of us.

Which is why you're going to throw this game.

- [sighs] Fine.

- Van's ready to destroy you.

- Do you enjoy being his little bitch?

- [scoffs] It's called a squire, Emily.
