President Trump on Friday morning said his first foreign trip has �made and saved�

partners over their defense spending levels.

But Trump did strike a multibillion-dollar arms deal with the Saudis last week.

The 43rd meeting of the G-7 on Friday, which is the first G-7 conference for Trump as well

as the leaders of Great Britain, France and host nation Italy, is being held in the small

tourist town of Taormina.

The heads of state are expected to agree easily on a measure endorsing further efforts to

fight terrorism, but could struggle to find consensus on climate change or trade.

One Piece Flow - Duration: 3:45.

The experiment is performed by members of the SCRA 2015 Batch

The experiment compares two methods of stuffing an envelope with a piece of paper, pasting it and stamping it

One method follows the "batch production" model. First, twenty A4 sheets are folded twice. Then each paper is stuffed into an envelop. After that each envelop is sealed. Finally all 20 envelopes are stamped.

The other method follows the "one piece flow" model. Each A4 sheet is folded twice, stuffed into the envelope, the envelope is sealed and stamped. Then the next sheet of paper is handled.

Which method do you think is more efficient?

This experiment has been conducted several times all over the world....

While Dhanraj is yet to produce his first "completed product", Aditya has already produced his "first product" within a few seconds of starting his work.

One piece flow has the advantage of a neat workplace and quicker delivery of the first product to the customer

batch production leads to work-in-progress (WIP) accumulating on the shop floor. WIP requires working capital and poses limits on free cash available.

Defects escape detection for a long time in a batch production scenario, whereas in a one pice flow scenario a defect is detected immediately.

the batch production model involves a lot of non-value adding activities. For example is any value being added when the paper is placed on the table and lifted on multiple occassions?

Also all the WIP on the shop floor is simply idling. There is no value addition.

However, "one-piece-flow" is counter intuitive. ...Most of us assume that "batch production" is a more efficient method of production.

Huge benefits in terms of reduced WIP, cleaner shop floor and faster cycle time can be realised by adopting one piece flow.
