Waching daily Jan 27 2018

Most of us know the difference between being respectful and rude, right?

Or maybe we just think we do.

Here's some advice from top etiquette experts to figure out how we can recognize etiquette

mistakes we may not even realize we're making.

Thank you notes

According to Jodi Smith of Mannersmith Etiquette Consulting, a verbal thank you simply is not

enough — you also need to send a note.

Etiquette expert Lisa Grotts added,

"Planning and giving parties is a lot of work.

Don't forget to say thank you when you leave an event, then call the next day and send

a thank-you note within 24 hours so the message is not lost."

Perhaps so many of us are hesitant to send thank you notes because we don't know how

to write them properly.

Event planner Sarah Kidder revealed,

"One of the typical etiquette challenges is not making a thank you note all about the

writer.

Sincere thank you notes do not have a lot of 'I' included."

Sympathy cards

One of the most uncomfortable tasks is writing a card to express condolences.

Kidder says it is best to approach this by taking yourself out of it, focusing on the

person you are writing to and perhaps putting yourself in their shoes.

She explained,

"As a personal example, when my mother passed away, some well meaning notes and letters

focused on how shocked the writer was, how sad, etc.

They were long notes, all about the writer.

Those were hard to read at that time, especially as a grieving young adult in shock."

Kidder also believes the most wise approach is to hold off with the uber-positivity in

the early days and weeks while the grief is still fresh.

She revealed,

"Stories of good times past often go over better after enough time has passed for those

grieving to hear and enjoy the mutual affection for the departed."

Guest duties

If you are going to a meal or event at someone's home, you need to plan ahead of time... or

risk being rude by waiting until the last minute to RSVP. Smith also discouraged people

from arriving empty handed at someone's home.

This means making sure to plan to leave the house early to pick up a bottle wine, a sweet

treat or even flowers.

Better yet, have something sent in advance!

Holding utensils

The dinner table is ripe with opportunities for social faux pas, especially when it comes

to our eating utensils.

The founder of the Etiquette Academy of New England explained,

"When using utensils, make sure you are holding them properly.

Fork and knife are held with handles inside the palm to start with, and then eat depending

on whether you are using them Continental or American style.

The soup spoon should always be held like a pencil."

"So for soup, the golden rule of etiquette is you always spoon soup away from you."

"Away from you."

Eating habits

When it comes to food, there are many opportunities to be rude, especially because so many of

us have specific dietary needs these days.

Grotts says this can cause a major conflict of etiquette, and explained,

"If you're a dinner guest, eat what is served unless you're allergic to that food.

If you don't care for something, pretend to eat by mixing the food on your plate.

If the host asks why you're not eating, just say that you're leaving room for dessert."

She also shared another tip on how not to offend the chef and likely have a tastier

meal,

"Don't use salt or pepper until you first take a bite of food.

It may already have the perfect amount of seasoning."

Dating

Going on a date provides lots of opportunities to make etiquette mistakes.

Diane Gottsman, who is the author of Modern Etiquette for a Better Life answered one of

the age-old dating questions that so many of us have — who should pay the check.

She said,

"The rule of who pays on a date is the person who extended the invitation, regardless of

gender or financial status."

Regarding whether men should hold the door for women, Gottsman has a modern take on this:

"Socially, a man has been taught to open the door for a woman.

Professionally, whoever gets to the door first should hold it, or walk through and hold it

for the other person."

Tipping

In America, most of us believe that it is standard to leave a tip of 15 to 20 percent

for good service, but the percentage really depends on where you eat, according to Devoreaux

Walton of The Poise Pursuit, who said,

"Tipping at a restaurant has increased for satisfactory service.

The old suggested tip was 15 percent of the bill.

The new tipping standard is 20 percent at a restaurant and 22 percent at a fine dining

restaurant with outstanding service."

But what if your service isn't what you expected it to be?

According to Gottsman, it's never okay to skip out on the tip.

She advised,

"If you aren't happy with the service, speak to the manager and leave a minimum of 10 percent."

Now there's a tip you can take to the bank.

HOW TO STOP A HAMSTER FROM BITING - Duration: 2:52.

hey guys it's me and today's video is going to be talking about how to stop

your hamster from biting so the first thing is you need to recognize why your

hamster has bitten you is your hamster new and have you tamed to them yet

unlike dogs and cats when you get your hamster you are going to tame them to

become use to human interaction so it is really common for your hamster to bite

you if they are new and they just haven't been tamed yet because they are

quite scared I do have a video on how to tame your hamster and I will leave that

linked somewhere on the screen and in the description bar does your hamster

only bite it when you put your hands in the cage if so this means your hamster

is cage territorial and you can solve this by upgrading the cage because most

of the time a hamster who is cage territorial has a quite of a small cage

did you just eat if so your hamster probably just confused you with a snack

hamsters have a really really good sense of smell but a really poor sense of

vision so if they do bite you because you've just eaten it's probably your

fault so to prevent that just try washing your hands before you handle

your hamster did you just wake your hamster up or did you scare them

hamsters are nocturnal / crepuscular so if you did wake them up they may be

grumpy if you have scared your hamster biting is your hamsters way of defending

themselves so to prevent scaring your hamster try talking quietly around your

hamster and have slow movements around your hamster so if your hamster still

bites after all of that continue with the taming process you can use gloves

such as mittens to get your hamster used to the feeling of being lifted up

because sometimes hamsters get really scared and they don't understand why

they're being picked up so wearing gloves can help you prevent getting

yourself bitten and it can help your hamster get used to the feeling of being

lifted up use treats as rewards if a hamster realizes that when it doesn't

bite you it gets a treat it most likely won't bite you once your hamster

realizes you aren't a threat they should stop biting

please remember that hamsters are prey animals

so they are naturally just really scared and can be really timid another tip to

prevent yourself from getting bitten is that when you go to let your hamster's

nephew or pet them try using the back of your hand or a knuckle this just

prevents them from being able to bite you too badly because your back of the

hand is really flat and smooth so there's nothing really to grab lastly

just be patient with your hamster sometimes it can take weeks or months to

tame your hamster just to get them to stop biting so yeah guys I hope this

video has helped anybody who has a biting hamster don't give up you can

eventually get your hamster to be a loveable fun hamster so yeah guys thank

you for watching bye

Fake News, The Pope, & Our True Galactic Origins - Duration: 4:49.

Fake News, The Pope, & Our True Galactic Origins

by Gregg Prescott,

CNN is pushing story that Pope Francis wants a crackdown on FAKE NEWS (how ironic?).

Of course, you wont heard the Roman Catholic Church speaking a peep about the plethora

of bishops, priests, and other clergymen who are pedophiles.

Is this what the Pope fears now that the swamp is being drained?

FAKE NEWS = The Bible, with its final edition brought upon by Freemason King James, is full

of FAKE NEWS.

For example, there are 4 different blood types (A, B, AB, and O) and 2 different Rh values

(+ and -). Its IMPOSSIBLE to have so many blood types and Rh values from Adam and Eve,

so right off the bat, the bible starts out with a LIE.

Weve been told that the Library of Alexandria was burned down and that during the Spanish

Inquisition that most of the Mayan codices were destroyed but is it possible that they

have all been saved in secrecy by the Roman Catholic Church, thus protecting any other

story that might contradict the truth that we were NOT created from Adam and Eve that

many people were seeded here from various galactic races with some who do not follow

Jesus?

Religion and Government are married to one another.

Both are all about subservience, control, and conformity.

This is part of the mind control that keep us living in perpetual fear of breaking one

of their fictitious laws when in reality, there are only Universal Laws that we need

to abide by.

The biggest fear the cabal has is something Ive been saying all along: Once the

bottom of the pyramid unites (ALL of us), the rest will collapse.

In recent news, globalist George Soros spoke at a summit in Davos, Switzerland, re-emphasizing

the same talking points that Barrack Obama said in a recent interview with David Letterman,

basically saying how social media is taking away our autonomy, but neither were saying

a peep about that when #YesWeCan was the talk of Twitter.

Its obvious that Soros latest agenda is to get people off of social media in order

to avoid the upcoming chaos for the dark cabal, but this news is spreading like wildfire on

Twitter.

It got to the point where fearful Republicans were blaming Russian bots for the #ReleaseTheMemo

hashtag, which was even more perpetuated fake news that was continuously reported by the

mainstream media.

The Daily Beast reported, Despite claims the Kremlin is driving a campaign to disclose

an anti-FBI memo, a source says an early in-house analysis concludes the hashtag has been mostly

pushed by Americans.

Twitters internal analysis has thus far found that authentic American accounts, and

not Russian imposters or automated bots, are driving #ReleaseTheMemo.

There are no preliminary indications that the Twitter activity either driving the hashtag

or engaging with it is either predominantly Russian.

Fake News, The Pope, & Our True Galactic Origins

Please bear in mind that everything happening here on our planet is being reflected above.

The swamp is being drained both here on earth and in the galactics.

And while all of this is going on, its simply our consciousness experiencing it all

individually and as the collective.

The vibration of TRUTH falls under the vibration of LOVE.

As more truths are exposed, it raises the collectives vibration.

For some people, these truths may not be exactly what they want to hear but like Mahatma Gandhi

said, Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is the truth.

Were in the home stretch of awakening from this dream as the final grains of sand drain

from the cosmic hourglass.

As the truth vibration resonates, the love vibration becomes strong, thus expediting

the grains of sand through the cosmic hourglass.

It is my belief that no one knows exactly when the anticipated Event will be as

its most like changing every millisecond as each person awakens more and more to the

truth and love frequency.

Sending you all infinite LOVE & LIGHT,

Kingdoms of The Sky - Dan Time - Minecraft - Duration: 19:36.

hello and welcome to Dan Time we're here in kingdom of the skies Matt

and we can have a look around basically what we've got in chest weapons to me

that indicates that there's gonna be fighting going on let's have a look

though ok so it looks like kingdom of the skies really is it totally in those

guys I don't know how extensive it is I can see something over there how we're

gonna have a little look around it some redstone down here I don't know if I can

make that I'm gonna try jumping over to here and then I can get down there okay

it looks like there is quite a lot to explore just how we get there I don't

know because if I try jumping around I think I'm gonna die

I don't mantasy dumping over the edge there that looks like that might be the

only way through so I'm gonna try smashing my way through you recipes

unlock yeah it looks like smashing might be the way thoughts what are these oops

levers and wondering if the levers do anything if you've played this before

and you know exactly how to play this you let me know because I'm struggling a

lot of the moment I am just exploring but it looks like I'm quite limited with

where I can actually explore so might and you might know nothing that's where

it came out straight over here didn't really use my sword for this but I am

yeah that looks more interesting over there I just don't fancy jumping down to

it there must be a way down the kingdom of the skies they're all like islands in

the sky that's what it looks like and I just happy at the top of a very large

Tower of one of them actually it looks like I might be a very top of it

although I wonder if there's a way down from inside here whoa yeah yes I would

gladly water that's awesome I thought was gonna die for a second then now I

can't get back up so as awesome as it is I'm not dead it's not great that I'm

down at the bottom and everything exciting some top so let's turning it

back up there over go events is so annoying you have to go round fences

what's this say east gate what we're going here a little house what's that

new furnace interested what's up the stairs it's a good world I

like this Kingdom in the skies so I to try to remember that I can just jump

off the ledge if I want to survive they will should land in water well not

necessarily I need to look at which ledge I'm going to be jumping off of is

at the top of this building

okay so it looks like as far as kingdom of the skies goes it looks like I've

fallen to the bottom of that there are plenty of chests in here so I am getting

a lot of help what is that this is a case location

animal it's on fire I can't seem to break it out which is unfortunate for

the animal hello and we've got a dog here hello how do we

whoops oops sorry oh god no that's a wolf ah no

don't accidentally hurt wolves they all come they all come after you okay let's

try again right don't accidentally stab a wolf because it has friends and the

friends will come and get you okay

there's not water all around that island I can't jump off every single time I

need to explore first and make sure that there's water below me I think I took

for granted the first time that got lucky in there we go lucky again but I I

managed it they even know what happened there well let's get out of the water I

think I don't know how are you supposed to get from one place to another anyway

let's go have a little explore I've lost all my stuff as well because I died not

good now I wonder if there is a way to get up that little bit no it doesn't

seem oh maybe let's see from get from island to island first it's that there

is there are bridges so the trick seems to be to go from one island to the other

I'm not gonna try that one because I will just fall into oblivion if you're

liking the videos please remember to subscribe and like I said before if you

have anything to say to me about the video please comment as well I do read

the comments how am I supposed to get I think I've got to jump that Ridge which

means I need to take a run up right where's the ridge just take a run up I

think I get here a little bit more just remember to jump nope

yes nothing I can do about that and dead again right so it looks like if I just

ran straight out of this door it looks like a I fall down into water

right which is great and they've kinda give me steps out of the water so I can

survive watch video one I don't have the videos then and a in and a separate

their separate pack don't know squared

still the most important thing is to get figure out how to get from one of these

islands to another island is this the bridge is this a bridge that will take

me somewhere sensible

it doesn't look like is where it is this lead that just leads downwards nice not

go with that shall we know they're dead again let's try again how did we get out

last time so if I go out there I'm just gonna drop straight down there must be

another dog there was another door last time when I was in here the first time I

came in here there was two doors I went out one door and stay exploring and now

there seems to only be one door again but that door does leave me oh did I

just go through the wrong way no only through the same all these

through the same way

see this is the other door this is where I was before

I never remember smashing a hole in the wall I go around here I am on top of one

of the islands now if I can see from the top how to get from one island to the

other then maybe I have a chance of actually

doing that that way looks like the only way I think I've got to try and jump

that Ridge that's the only explanation is that I have to jump that Ridge

there's no other way there are no other connectors other than that Ridge I have

to jump the ridge now I try to jog that Ridge and I

couldn't so the only the only other thing I could do is to either fix the

entire bridge or fix it enough so that I can successfully jump let's go down to

the river right Oh where's my where's my steps

where are my steps gone there we go that's better

well listen for a moment then right let's get digging wait

what was killing me and things are killing me - I didn't even see what that

was there's a skeleton right no no what I

need to do let's just go on and do it down into the river jump back up and now

we have to build thick enough so that we could build a ridge just get out of the

river first and I keep getting killed constantly this is a good map this is

challenging down is the river get out before right just get out you

can attack straightaway I'm just gonna I'm just get jumping to bed this time

because there's no we're doing this until if I'm getting killed cunt without

even being able to gather get my bearings and that's no good right ah

he's still there no no no that's not good

where is he I killed him monster hunter yay

Kieffer run away the spiders what's the point in sitting in the bed if all the

monsters are still gonna be alive when I come out and there's a zombie now

they're dying burning come on

that's not fair that is not fair whereas the river was river bound to

death right one will go and then I'm just gonna just give up and try another

tight date right into the river hopefully the zombies and things should

be dead by now so it's the river up the stairs no there is a creeper are they

surviving water they survive in water because they will not burn I know I said

one will go but this is really one will go okay right in the water get out of

the water before the creeper gets me he was coming because coming right we're

out of the water should be safe now right that's it let's

target leave the walls alone let's not that's probably the easiest thing to

build with well dig and then build with Hey look at that I got got my weapons

from where I was killed before I was a spider as spiders are still around also

be nice to me if I don't turn stab them was I all that there's nice little ducky

no that's a wolf

okay we won't be going that way let's let's go around this way where is our

little Ridge I think our little ridges over here somewhere

this looks like it

right so how far do we go down we I don't want to go any better than that

are you serious I think I can't I have a choice how do I go about

building the other side of this I think this already gives me a little bit of a

chance it would be good if I could figure out how to like build

continuously if you know I mean oh I have no need out that's why I'm not

building let's get some more dirt

then if this is a purpose of I don't know if this is a purpose of this map

it's a good one so am i close enough to start building from the other side no I

can't anything on there at the moment if I just build row by row and I should get

close enough to jump or even start building on the other side and make it a

full bridge and I think from there I think all of the kingdoms are connected

which is good I'm just gonna extend each of these

oh right so now and I don't keep my weapons but I'm pretty sure stuff I

build remains when I die so even if I were to fall off the ledge now all of

that work will still be there it's good because now we're going to hopefully

you're basically across who are we close enough to build off from the other side

yet yeah that I think we are probably nearly close enough to jump probably

could jump that but I'm not too good at the jumping so I am going to build as

far as I possibly can and then and then maybe trying

I didn't realize how close to the edge act she was then don't if I can jump

that anything is worth trying just yet

that's got to build with because you can build with it you can dig it up really

quickly doesn't look as nice as some of the other things you can build with but

you could spend forever trying to my now a looks like cobblestone pathway and all

I wanted to just get to the other side oh I knew that would happen at some

point

alright that's a shame cuz I was just about to expand it now now let's try

again I might even just try and go straight for a run up this time I'm

pretty sure work this way yeah that's why I've been taking before and then we

are over that way somewhere

so back we go and let's have a look see everything we've built is still there

let's give it a run and jump so how it died what difference does it make anyway

let's go for it run and jump no I built more I want to call that the

end of the video and we'll try building more I'll ever time

The Hardest Horror Movies To Watch More Than Once - Duration: 5:00.

Horror movies might be filled with frights, but they're usually pretty fun to watch, too.

Every now and again, however, there comes along a scary movie that's so disturbing it's

hard to justify ever sitting through it again.

From extreme brutality to the true emotional torment of audiences, these are the movies you'll

want to opt out of re-visiting after the first run.

As always, beware the spoilers.

The Sacrament

Loosely based on true events, The Sacrament is excruciatingly tense and takes the story

and its characters to some incredibly dark places.

The faux-documentary features three reporters investigating a new religious movement in

Africa.

And the climax depicts the ritual self-sacrifice of the cult members, which does not flinch

from a single moment of the pain, confusion, and fear they experience.

It gets particularly difficult to watch when one of the reporters is tied down by his sister

and forced to participate in the ritual with her.

In terms of craft, The Sacrament probably is an incredibly well done movie.

"I tried.

God knows I tried."

But once you've watched the film and know the places it will take you to, it's almost

impossible to watch again.

Martyrs

The "torture-horror" subgenre hit a new benchmark with Martyrs.

The French film features characters experiencing every kind of agony imaginable, from suffering

intense beatings to being flayed alive.

And it's the existential justification for this cycle of sinister acts that's really

hard to bear.

The tormentors are attempting to gain knowledge of the afterlife by turning their subjects

into martyrs who are abused into transcendance.

And after so much anguish and gruesome violence, audiences are ultimately left to wonder what

the experience revealed, if anything.

It's an experience to watch this movie unfold, but it is also an exhausting one for sure.

Funny Games

Sometimes bad things happen to good people and there's no rhyme or reason to it.

Funny Games is a story about this very idea.

Two sociopathic youths, Peter and Paul, stage a physical and emotional assault on a family

in their own home.

Bones are broken.

Lives are ended.

A dog goes to doggy heaven.

And all of this is done in service of a sick game being played by the boys.

There is no backstory between the family and the men torturing them.

It's not a revenge scheme, and there is no plot twist revealing the boys to be the abandoned

children of the mother or the father.

Peter and Paul simply show up, commit countless atrocities, and then move on to the next family.

Funny Games might be tremendously made, but it is a horrifying film that presents sick

joy in senseless violence and probably won't leave you reaching for the DVD again any time

soon.

The Invitation

Even without its twist ending, The Invitation would be uncomfortable to sit through a second

time.

The film sets out to put the nuance of interactions between lapsed friends under a microscope.

Through a few hours spent at a tense dinner party, it analyzes the minute intricacies

of every awkward exchange between characters.

And it explores the efforts people will go through to save face and stifle survival instincts

when cordial social interactions go to places they shouldn't.

"Don't you guys think this is a little bit weird?"

Furthermore, it's a stunning meditation on grief and what people will do to cope with

loss.

These themes are explored very nicely, but they're so heavy that a second viewing is

likely out of the question for most moviegoers.

And this is all before the film's third act, which features the host couple trying to snuff

out all their friends and then off themselves in the name of a mysterious spiritual group

they've joined.

All in all, it's an immaculate film that is probably best left alone after a single viewing.

Lake Mungo

There are points at which Lake Mungo hardly feels like a horror film.

The imitation-documentary plays out as a look into how the loss of a loved one can devastate

the people around them over time.

There are supernatural elements to the film and some great frights to be had, but they're

comparatively sparse across the movie's hour and a half running time.

Those scares aren't what will keep viewers from coming back for a second viewing, though.

That falls entirely on the subject matter.

By staging the film as a documentary with no well-known actors to lower the audience's

suspension of disbelief, director Joel Anderson amplifies the emotional devastation the Palmer

family experiences after the loss of their daughter Alice.

And that plays directly into the supernatural aspects of the plot, too.

Lake Mungo is a superb film, but one that deals with some very heavy subject matter

and would be very hard to sit through a second time.

Audition

Takashi Miike has released over 100 films, and he could probably go on to direct 100

more with not one of them earning the reputation that Audition has.

It's the story of a widower who, at the urging of his son, connects with a young woman named

Asami.

As their romance develops, it becomes clear that there is more to her than she lets on.

Suspicions build slowly towards the film's serious climax, which features a horrific scene

of torture and a mutilated man Asami sadistically keeps alive in a bag.

Other films featuring torture might try to shock the audience with a wide array of methods,

but Miike instead pares it down to one excruciatingly simple, prolonged moment of pain.

Audition is a masterpiece, no doubt about it, and it's absolutely worth seeing.

But it's still a hard movie to get through the first time around, and knowing what the

end holds will not make rewatching it any easier.

Daily Livestreams Coming Soon / New Channel (The Final Reich Gameplay) - Duration: 3:05.

What is up guys and welcome back to a brand new video.

And if you have been a regular hear on the channel you will have noticed that I have

been attempting to livestream over the last month.

And this has been mainly a test that my PC is able to do it and I can get things going right.

And as it stands I am quite happy with the way things are the only thing that I dont do

at the moment is use a mic and i've used the excuse that its too noisey and the kids are

in bed and yes that is entirely true when the kids are awake this house sounds like

a zoo and at night the PC is upstairs and I cant exactly disturb the kids whilst the

are asleep - but there is a time period that I could use to livestream with a mic and I

think the reason that I am not doing it at the moment is a lack of confidence yes I know

I am sat here talking on the mic right now and it's as easy as anything but it's a different

story when doing it prerecorded you can fix errors and you can sort things there and then

but in a live stream scenario for me thats a little bit more overwhelming and its going

to take a little bit longer to adjust to BUT i do plan on doing it very soon.

Now the idea was to initially livestream here on this channel because this is where my sub

base is its where my followers know and i figured it would get the most views but instead

of the channel growing steadily i've actually noticed this last month it declined a lot

and I beilieve a lot of people don't like the fact that I am livestreaming on here they

keep saying go over to Twitch but I don't feel I am ready for Twitch so what I have

decided to do is i've set up a brand new channel its link will be in the desription alog with

any annotation and stuff on the screen I highly hope that you check it out and subscribe as

soon as I have seen enough people move over to there i'm gonna start doing the livestreams

Break Down Mental Barriers - What Is Learned Helplessness? - Duration: 2:26.

In this video I will explain exactly what learned helplessness is and how it

may be affecting your day to day life learned helplessness is a mental state

for an organism like a human or animal is exposed to adverse stimuli that is

unpleasant or painful and over time the organism becomes unwilling to escape

that adverse stimuli even if the conditions are now avoidable the theory

of learned helplessness was developed in the 1960s and 70s by American

psychologist Martin Seligman Seligman came across his theory when he

discovered that dogs who received unavoidable electric shocks for an

extended period of time failed to take action when the shocks

became avoidable a similar phenomenon occurs when breeders raise elephants aza

baby elephant it will be chained to a post in the ground so it can't escape

after multiple attempts to break free from its shackles the baby elephant will

build up the belief that their captivity is imminent as the elephant grows up it

becomes bigger and gain the strength to break free from its post however it is

now conditioned to believe that it cannot change the situation it is in so

how does learned helplessness affect our own lives sure we are not tied to a post

like elephants or shocked like the dogs in the study however humans often

experiences mental state as well for instance if you receive a bad grade you

may start to develop a mindset where you believe you may never succeed in school

like the elephant you may think that academic failure is imminent and never

make another attempt at that failed course or exam however as you invest

more time into your education and self-development

you will become more like the mature elephant who is strong and more than

capable of breaking free from its prior limitations at this point only your

mindset will come in the way of you and success thanks for watching if you

How To Avoid Shorts In A DC Reversing Section - Duration: 14:26.

I'm gonna show you how to wire up your DC layout with a reversing section using

a double pole double throw switch and a few LEDs so let's get going with this

right now

I'm Tom Kvichak and this is Toms Trains and Things this channel was

created to help other modelers who are in need of guidance in pursuing their

dream of building a model railroad on a DC layout usually you just have run

around in a circle and you don't have any reversing sections in there so I am

going to show you how to do that with this double pole double throw switch and

our favorite LEDs with a thousand ohm resistor on it we're going to use my

favorite soldering demonstration with this track right here and I put three

separate sets of leads in here so I could show you the incoming track the

reversing track and the outgoing track and I'll show you how to put gaps in

here with the dremel tool on both ends and we'll wire this thing up and see how

it works and we'll give you a good indication with the LED so you don't run

over and short out your tracks so let's see what this is all about right after

this if you would like to see more videos like this go ahead and hit that

subscribe button and go to my channel click right below the video where it

says Toms Trains and Things click on that and that'll take you to my channel page

and click on playlists and that will show you all the playlists that I have I

have them grouped into different categories by topic so it's easy to find

so if you're looking for something on soldering you can find it if you're

looking for electrical project you could find it if you're looking for DCC you'll

find it I have over 40 playlists on there where the videos are grouped into

categories so you could find them easily so take a

look at it we're gonna take a 1k ohm resistor and put it on our red-green by

color LED and I'm gonna put it on one of these small bread boards just to signify

some place on either in your panel or on your railroads someplace where you could

tell that you have a green or red indication in both areas now the idea of

this is if you're coming over here with the locomotive and the LED over here is

green you want this LED right here to be green also so when the locomotive comes

over it it's not going to stop or it's not going to short out because you have

this one backwards so now say if this was green here and this was red here you

would want to change this section over so it indicates green so you could

proceed through here now once you're on this section now just like anything else

in a reversing section now this is just for demonstration it doesn't have to be

this short and it won't be this short but anyway you want your entire train to

be less than your section because you don't want to be shorting out this end

and this end at the same time with your wheels because then you'll see sparks so

when you're in here on this section here this one will be green but this one will

be red because you're going in through the opposite direction so what you want

to do is make this track right here red stay the same as this track right

here which is going to be red and then - you can go right through and it's as

easy as that and then once you're going through you're coming back around this

way that's the whole idea about cutting the gaps in the reversing section so you

could isolate that one section and then reverse it so you could go out

the other end we're gonna take our dremel motor tool and put some gaps in

the rail right now all right there we go

come on down here

all right now we got the gaps in there now we have say these two ends right

here are coming off the turnouts and this is a spot that's going to be the

reversing section so so let's see how we're gonna wire that up now all right I

cut three resistors there 1k ohm resistors and I'm gonna put them on

these little bread boards here and you'll see that I have the red and black

wires from each section on the LEDs so what I'm gonna do is put the resistor so

it comes off one side and on to the black you can see I did it there here

now it doesn't really doesn't matter what side you put the resistor on

because this is gonna be reversing and there's actually two die or two LEDs

inside each one of these so you're gonna be on the anode on one side and the

cathode on the other so it doesn't make a difference which side it's on just as

long as you have it on there okay so we got them all in there now what I'm gonna

have to do is get my double pole double throw switch this one here so we could

proceed with this and I'll show you how we'll switch this in here what I've done

here is I have each one of these bread boards hooked up the same way the only

thing different that I did and I'll tell you that in a few minutes okay

but I have the double pole double throw switch hooked up on the white one which

is the reversing section this one is incoming or outgoing no matter depending

on which way you're going okay I put tied everything together on

the terminal board and I have my transformer over here it's a little bit

out of view I'm running out of space here but anyway I just wanted to show

you something here on one of these you're going to have to hook up your LED

backwards in other words on these on these two right here I have the resistor

on you can see I have it like that now the way these are hooked up is let me

get it in the right spot it is simulating that the LED and the resistor

is between tracks the way I have it wired in here as you can see right there

same thing here same thing here now even though on this side this track is the

positive and on this side this track is the positive over here because we're

coming in from different directions on the circle this and this would still

show green at the same time if I hook them up the same but we want it to look

different so let me turn this on so now we have a green here and we have a red

here and that's to simulate when the locomotives coming through you see the

reverse in sections green so we can continue all the way up till we get to

the gap now we have to stop the locomotive them and then we have to flip

our switch so this one shows red and this one shows red that means that these

tracks are the same polarity so if this one was negative before and this one was

positive before this one changed to positive so we have positive on both

sides and a negative on both sides so we won't short

as we go through the gap right there now to get that I reverse this led and the

reason I did that and I'll show that to you on the overhead when I use the meter

on here and I'll show you how that happens but anyway here we go we have

voltage on it and we flip the double pole double throw switch on the inside

and we could change the polarity of these tracks to match either this one

here or this one here and we just flip it and I have another video on a double

pole double throw switch how to wire it up for reversing and as you can see on

here it is criss crossed so let's do an overhead on here and we'll also show a

graphic on this so it'll be clear but this is what you want to accomplish now

you could put these you could put these somewhere on your layout or you could

put them on your control panel where you have your switches and where you have

your track plan on there to indicate the direction that you have your locomotive

going or the polarity of your track at that given spot and by flipping the

double pole double throw switch you could change the polarity of your

reversing section just like that in this section I'm going to show you why we

need to reverse at least one of these LEDs in here now I'm going to show you

some voltage on the track and you'll see that

even though I reversed the red and green from on this side to this side because

it's going to be on two different ends and you'll see it up on the display here

in effect the LEDs are crossing the two tracks so whether this track here is a

positive and this track over here as a negative we're still going to show the

same color on the LED that's why we had to change this around so we're going to

put the red on this track right here all the way through and I'll show you the

red and then a black and we're showing sixteen point four three volts I'll come

over to this section right here sixteen point four nine volts okay and I'll come

over to this section right here and it's minus sixteen okay so that's where you

get the difference you have the different polarity from one end to the

other that's the opposite ends of the circle so if I had this LED right here

hooked up the same as these two they would all show green we'll do this again

now this is green this is red this is red so we'll go over here we'll show

this that's a positive in the center section it's negative and in the end

section it's negative okay so that's why you have to reverse one of

these LEDs and that's the only time you would do it in in this particular

situation where you have a circle and you're crossing that circle with a

reversing section so I hope that was clear for you right there

now these breadboards are valuable tools whenever you're testing out your wiring

or experimenting with different things to put on your layout but I wouldn't

recommend using these on your layouts now maybe in a tight situation you could

use the small ones like these and stick them inside your control panel if you

want to be changing things around once you know the way that you want to

wire it take these out and solder all your things together use terminal boards

terminal strips to attach your wires together instead of just using these

little bread boards here no matter how complex or simple your layout is you'll

find LEDs valuable in your layout now I've showed you a series of LED videos

and I have a few more coming up in the near future so take a look for them and

I have videos coming out every Monday Wednesday and Saturday so take a look

for them and we'll see ya
