24 Reasons Star Wars Episode III & Xmen Apocalypse Are The Same Movie - Duration: 4:21.

Fox is always trying their hardest to keep a franchise alive even after the audience

loses interest, it's the same case in this movie.

This is the third installment of the prequel films.

The prequel saga is supposed to show you what happened in the universe leading up to the

events of the original trilogy.

I'm surprised this franchise had the balls to do more than one trilogy because according

to the studio, the third one is always the worst one (audio).

The movie's about this school of super powered kids.

The super powered kids are lead by this one wise dude.

The wise dude is the strongest character from a mental standpoint.

However, when it comes to physical activities like walking, he has a tough time getting

from point A to B. The wise teacher notices one of his students is having a hard time

sleeping.

The student is having these scary nightmares and it's unclear if it's just a bad dream

or warning signs of what's to come.

Meanwhile, there's an evil menace to society who's hell bent on taking over the world.

The evil villain walks around in this dark hooded cloak just like the outfit Michael

Jackson had on in the beginning of the Do You Remember the Time video.

The bad guy can't take over the world alone so he starts recruiting allies to work with

him.

He uses heart ache and pain as a recruiting tool to get people to turn to the dark side

and join him.

His number one target is one of the main characters who's dealing with a lot of pain and hate.

For one, he never got over the murder of his mother.

Secondly, he witnesses the love of his life brutally murdered right in front of him and

last, but not least, he hates sand with a passion (audio).

When you add up all the anger in his heart, he's practically begging for an Uber to

the dark side.

The conflicted character is one of the biggest hypocrites you'll find in cinema.

He's lead to the dark side because of the loss of his mother so you'd imagine he holds

parenting with high regards, but then he's the worst dad in the universe next to Joe

Jackson and he doesn't even raise his own kids.

The evil villain has a way with words and to be totally honest, I'm not sure I wouldn't

have fallen for his plan if it were me.

He shows his new student these cool tricks like how to make these purple bubbles and

all he has to do in return is kill anyone that stands in their way.

Sounds like a sweet deal to me.

At first, the villain's followers don't trust him at all.

He starts monologuing and (light saber sound effect), the put a lightsaber to his neck

and are all like "you liar", but more and more his plan starts making sense to them

as they become blinded by their own ambition.

The evil bad guy's plan starts coming together.

He gets an army and his new recruits are out for blood.

They march up to one of their old jobs and kill everybody working that day.

The bad guys destroy the school for the gifted.

The head teacher of the students at the school and the main bad guy fights and the teacher

gets taught a lesson when he gets whooped and after that, the bad guys are picked off

one by one by the military.

When someone is too far gone, you could tell by the look in their eyes.

This character gets brainwashed by the villain with the hooded cloak and it's unclear if

he'll ever be back to normal.

The heroes discover where they're old friend is hiding and they fly over to see if they

could reason with him.

As soon as the chick steps off the plane, she chokes harder than Peyton Manning in Super

Bowl 48.

Then (lightsaber sound effects) and the planet is in total chaos.

So much so, you can't even tell who's winning, but after the good guy has the higher

ground and the villain's on the bottom, it's clear who's going to get the W (audio

I have the high ground).

Even though he doesn't have the higher, the bad guy continues to attack.

It's ruled a suicide attempt and he gets chopped up by the laser and burned up worst

than Pepsi did Michael.

To set up the next film, they add scenes of the franchise's most iconic character and

show you how he ended up with all that metal inside his body and it would've been way

more awesome if they focused that level of detail into the rest of the movie (Darth Vader:

Nooo Audio).

Those are 24 reasons these movies are the same.

You agree?

Yes, no, maybe so?

If not, politely share your thoughts in the comment section below and click the subscribe

We Tried To Find The Best Gyro In Greece - Duration: 3:14.

- The best gyro.

- The best gyro.

(laughter)

- Where? Pull out that Google translate.

- We're here in Athens, Greece, in Monastiraki.

I think that's how you pronounce it.

We're really jet lagged, we're really hungry.

Evan, what do you want to do?

- I say we go buy some food.

- Mm hmm! What kind of food? - Gyros?

- I don't think that's how it's pronounced, but...

- Is it not?

- Let's figure it out. All right.

Who would know where to find the best gyro,

gyro, whatever it's called,

- I mean... - in all of Athens?

Let's ask the taxi driver.

- Souvlaki, gyro, eat?

(in unison) - Yes!

- Good? Best? - Best! Where?

- And no expensive?

- (in unison) Yes!

- Yes. (laughing)

Now we're on a mission to find the best gyro.

He won't tell us where, but he's taking us

to his favorite gyro spot in all of Athens.

- [Cab Driver] Here are the best gyro.

- [Evan] Oh, right here? - Oh, right here? Quick Pitta!

(upbeat music)

Our taxi driver said this is

the place to go to get gyros.

- Gyros. - Gyros.

We're saying it a little wrong, but we're trying.

Dinner is served.

- Dinner is served.

- Just going off of looks alone, this looks

a lot better than anything I've seen in the States.

- Best gyros in the world.

- Here it is. Wow.

That is so freaking good.

- The gyros I eat in America is usually mushy,

very squishy, this is so crispy.

- Everything in it is so fresh.

- Fresh, crispy.

- I got the pork one here.

It's like bacon's sexy, sexy cousin.

Oh my god, this is all I ever wanna eat.

It's like a much more organic version of Chick-Fil-A sauce.

I bet this is where they got the idea.

I'm not exaggerating, hands down

the best gyro I've ever had in my life.

So flavorful.

The onion, the parsley, the tomato,

this mysterious sauce they have,

this is such a well crafted specimen in my hands, here.

Dude, I gotta try this chicken.

- Yeah, you gotta try it.

- Do you wanna try this pork one?

- Sure. - I wanna cry right now.

I'm so happy.

I'm so happy.

Dude, the way it's spiced?

Outstanding. This is fucking awesome.

You doing more?

- I was gonna order one more. Like just straight,

Oh wait, we have one more, actually.

I'll just eat this.

- I'm gonna try and see

if they can mail me these from here to LA.

- This is my second box.

(old-timey string music)

- Dude, he doesn't stop eating.

- It's so good.

- I just stuffed my face with two different gyros,

I am so content.

- I'm still going.

- The driver didn't lie.

Just the best I've had in my life.

It's just too good for words.

Thank you, Greece, for providing this delicious food.

- Keep doing it. All right, back to eating.

- It never stops.

(upbeat music)

BREAKING! Michelle Obama's PERVERTED Secret Is Out! - Duration: 3:47.

BREAKING! Michelle's PERVERTED Secret Is Out!

If there's one thing Michelle Obama is talented at besides spending tax payer cash, it's

running her big fat anti-American mouth. Throughout the entire presidential election her vitriol

for Donald Trump was on full display, where she frequently used her position as First

Lady to put the Donald on blast. After months of flapping her trap, unfortunately for Michelle,

her own little dirty secret is out, after what Rush Limbaugh revealed on a live segment

of his show in a recent segment that's sure to destroy the former First Lady's "legacy."

During the election, Michelle used her position as FLOTUS to go around bashing Trump for his

"locker room talk," saying that she "doesn't know any men who brag." But Rush Limbaugh

recently exposed Michelle's words as a blatant lie, where he reminded America how Michelle

was all to eager to invite her cocky rapper friends to the White House in 2016, all friends

of Michelle who make quite a nice living with the vile and disgusting songs they write about

women.

Not only did Michelle's rapper buddies brag through their songs about having sex with

their "b*tches and hoes," but these rappers then performed these songs at the White House,

where Michelle be-bopped along to the tunes, even applauding the rapers for them! Here's

just a few of the "artists" that Michelle Obama widely applauded, whose lyrics all subjugate

and reduce women to mere sex objects for men. Via The American Thinker:

Rick Ross's, "U.O.N.E.O." glorifies date rape with the lyrics, "Put molly all

in her champagne/ She ain't even know it / I took her home and I enjoyed that/ She

ain't even know it." While Ross denies that this was his intended meaning, "molly"

is slang for Ecstasy, a well-known date rape drug, and the context of "molly" in his

lyrics shows clearly that a man put it into a woman's drink without her knowledge or

consent so he could have sex with her. Ross' "Same Hoes" consists primarily of the

F word, a variant of the N word, and "hoes."

Common, whose "Go!" includes, "And a ooh baby she liked it raw and like rain when

she came it poured" along with a variant of the N word and even more sexually explicit

lyrics.

Jay Z, who proclaims, "I've got 99 problems and a b***h ain't one."

Michelle Obama called out Trump's remarks with the words, "What message are our little

girls hearing about who they should look like, how they should act?" Nicki Minaj, another

rapper whom she and her husband brought to the White House, answers that question in

"Hey Mama," "Make sure mama crawls on her knees keep him pleased rub him down be

a lady and a freak" and also "Yes I do the cooking/ Yes I do the cleaning/ Yes I

keep the nana real sweet for your eating/ Yes you be the (boss) yes I be respecting."

Beyoncé's "Partition" includes far cruder and more explicit language, whose sole

redeeming virtue is to remind everybody that Hillary's husband actually did what Donald

Trump talked about. "He popped all my buttons and he ripped my blouse/He monica-lewinski'd

all on my gown," to which she adds, "Hand prints and good grips all on my ass."

Unfreaking real! This woman hardly has room to judge Donald Trump about his "locker

room comment" that he made in private, when she openly celebrates music artists who make

their entire fortunes for the vile and disgusting ways in which they subjugate women. Michelle

needs to immediately dismount from the high horse she's gotten so accustomed to parading

around on, and take a nice long look in the mirror. To throw Michelle's comment about

Trump right back in her face, "What message are our little girls hearing about who they

should look like, how they should act?"

Debt Pt. 1: A Primer on Borrowing Money - Duration: 10:04.

This episode is sponsored by National Debt Relief, a Better Business Bureau A+ accredited

[♪♩INTRO]

Friends, today we're going to talk about a word that starts with "D" that you're

not supposed to discuss in polite company.

Good thing we're not very polite company!

Today we're gonna talk about, yes, debt.

Carrying some kind of debt is a pretty normal part of being an adult in today's society.

Consider this episode as an introduction to the kinds of debt that you might encounter

throughout your lifetime.

What kind of debt you have affects your credit score, and your credit score is super important.

It can affect everything from opening a bank account to buying a car to renting an apartment

to even buying a home.

Some employers even look at applicants' credit scores, so yeah, it's a big deal.

There are some times when your credit score may need to take a back seat to getting out

of debt but we can talk about that in another video.

All that said, you're taking a good step by learning how all this works!

For many people, deciding whether to take out loans to go to college for the first time

can be their first big experience with debt and managing money.

Depending on how much money your parents make and what kind of aid you qualify for, you

might get government-subsidized student loans or private loans, which tend to have higher

interest rates.

You can take out student loans even if you don't have a credit history, and some loans

let you take out as much as you want, but remember, the choice you make at the age of

17 or 18 might follow you for the rest of your life.

Pros: You can go to college and making loan payments builds your credit history.

Cons: If you take out too much or can't find a good-paying job after college, you

might be stuck paying off your student loans for decades.

Defaulting on your loans--where you admit that you can't pay them--is a serious choice

that could impact your financial future for the rest of your life.

The other thing you should note before taking out student loans in the U.S. is that it is

extremely difficult to file bankruptcy to get rid of them.

There are still many ways to try and make college a little more affordable, and we have

a few videos on the topic in the description below.

I didn't really have a strategy when I was 18, I wanted to go to a four year university right off the

bat, but then I realized I can get the same education at a community college

for the first two years for less than a 5th of the price of a 4 year university.

Credit cards:

Every time you use a credit card, you're taking out a small loan that you promise to

pay back to the credit card company with interest.

The most common type of credit card is unsecured, meaning it's not backed by collateral.

If you don't pay your credit card debt, the company can't take your home or car,

but it can try to sue you depending on how much you owe and what state you live in.

Lawsuits are expensive though so they usually try to settle before suing you.

Pros: You can make purchases even if you don't have the cash in hand, and you're building

your credit score if you pay back on time.

Some credit cards also offer reward programs that offer things like airline miles, store

discounts or cash back.

Cons: If you don't pay your credit card bill in full every month, you will pay interest.

It can also be really easy to rack up thousands in debt and end up paying two or even three

times as much as you originally borrowed.

Medical debt:

Forty-three million Americans have overdue medical bills listed on their credit report,

according to a 2014 study from the Consumer Protection Bureau.

Big debts from unexpected hospital stays can really add up, and unfortunately, unpaid medical

bills do affect your credit score.

There is a little bit of good news.

In mid-2017, the three major credit bureaus, Experian, Equifax and Transunion, added a

six-month grace period for consumers to resolve medical debts before it appears on their credit

report as an unpaid bill.

It's not a solution to an ongoing massive issue, but it might offer some relief.

Payday loans:

These are small, short-term loans that usually come with really high fees and interest rates.

Payday lenders are typically geared toward low-income people who are strapped for cash

and need to borrow some money to make it to the next payday, ergo the name.

Pros: Low-income people can borrow money even if they don't have good credit histories.

Cons: High fees and interest rates can trap people in a cycle of debt if they can't

pay off the loans.

Payday lenders are controversial and highly regulated in many states.

Car loans:

One of your first big purchases in life could very well be a car.

Whether you're buying new or used, make sure that you've already checked with your

bank or credit union to find out what kind of car loan you qualify for before you go

shopping, and make sure that you can commit to monthly car payments if you can't afford

to pay for the vehicle up front.

Look at the final purchase price of the car, not the monthly payment, to make sure you

really are getting a good deal.

Pros: If you pay off the car on time, you'll establish great credit history that will be

useful for years to come, and, uh, you'll have a car to drive.

Cons: If you sign up for a payment that's not realistic, you could find yourself struggling

to make ends meet every month.

And if you don't make the payments, you won't get to keep your car.

Mike & Emma made a video on how to buy a car, so check out that link in the description.

Home loans:

Hopefully, you've built good credit and saved up a lot of cash before you start to

looking to buy a home.

When you're buying a home, you can usually expect to pay a (relatively) small chunk of cash up

front-- a cash down payment--and the rest over the next few decades in a monthly mortgage

payment that you owe to the bank that loaned you the money to buy the house.

The more you can afford to pay up front, the less time you'll spend paying the mortgage

and the interest and insurance that often comes with it.

Pros: Instead of paying rent, you're paying money into an asset that you'll eventually

own, and hopefully it will appreciate in value over time, offsetting the cost in the long-run.

Cons: If you get into dire financial straits and get behind on your mortgage payments,

the bank might foreclose on your home and take it back.

Even in the best circumstances of home ownership, you should also expect to spend money on property

taxes, homeowners insurance and maintenance fees.

Home equity loans:

Let's say you want to take out a big loan to pay for something major, like a home renovation,

your kids' college education or starting a new business.

If the house that you're paying on is worth more than the amount of money you still owe

on it--or you own the house--you can take out a home equity loan.

Pros: These loans are usually low-interest, since the bank knows it can take your house

if you don't pay the loans back.

Cons: Since the housing crisis of 2008, these kinds of loans are harder to get.

You also run the risk of losing your house if you don't make the payments.

Debt consolidation loan:

If you've got so many bills to pay off that you don't know how to deal with them, a

debt consolidation loan might an option for you.

Consolidation loans are typically geared toward people with a lot of unsecured debt spread

among different places, like credit cards, medical bills or overdue utility or rent.

As we learned a few minutes ago, unsecured debt means there's no collateral attached

to it.

A secured loan, like your house payment, isn't likely to qualify for consolidation.

So, if you have a ton of unsecured debt owed to different companies, you might be able

to talk to a debt counselor and seek a debt consolidation service that will help negotiate

your loans into one interest rate and one monthly payment.

Pros: You'll improve your credit rating and get fewer calls from collection agencies,

and, hopefully, get on the path toward straightening out your financial life.

Cons: You have to be very disciplined about your spending and pay the loan every month.

If you're struggling with one or more kinds of debt we've talked about today, you're

not alone.

For this series we partnered with National Debt Relief, a Better Business Bureau A+ accredited

company with over 13,656 client reviews from folks who were able to resolve their debt.

National Debt Relief is a debt settlement company that will negotiate with creditors

on their client's behalf to reduce the amount of debt owed and consolidate it into a single

lump sum.

They're completely performance based and charge no fees until their clients see their

debt reduced.

How to Force Copy a Google Form. - Duration: 2:38.

I'm Ro from the TechFairies here, and I wanted to show you how to force copy a form

This is an example of my daily check-in form that I use with my fourth and fifth grade students this

Daily check-in form gives me a different perspective to how my students are doing on a weekly basis

I have adapted this form from my good friend Mari Venturino. I'll put more information in the description box regarding

how she uses it in her middle school classroom?

I did a session called set it and forget it forms

And I wanted to share this form out without giving any of the attendees access to my data

or my students. So a quick and easy way to

force copy a form so that others may use it is that you can go and click on these three dots here and

Click on where it says add

collaborators

You then want to change it here. It says private only you can access

Click where it has that blue button there. This is change make sure it says anyone with the link can edit and then click Save

You're then gonna copy the blue link there you can click where it says

prevent editors from changing access and adding new people

You don't necessarily need to do that because you're going to make a copy of this form and not necessarily collaborate on it

And then I'm gonna go to an incognito window

Here just to make sure that the link actually works, and I've done it correctly

I'm gonna delete everything to the right of the slash there including the word edit and type in copy

and then I I like to copy the link just so I have it as a backup or it can make a bitly and

Then click enter, and then there is now a copy of the form there for you to share out

So if you would like an actual copy of this form I'll put the link in the description box, too

Don't forget to subscribe to our channel and give this video a thumbs up. Thanks for watching

How To Choose The Right Foundation For Your Skintone - Duration: 8:17.

Hello Sunshines!

Today I want to show you how to match your own foundation so that way you won't ever

have to be the victim of a probably very well meaning but undertrained sales associate or

be in trouble if your out trying to buy foundation and you can't get anybody to help you.

Maybe theyre busy.

Maybe theyre understaffed.

It doesn't matter because you can do it by yourself.

So a really good place to start is by understanding what the undertone of your skin is.

So that you can avoid foundations that clash.

If you have a yellow undertone and put a pink toned foundation on its gona look not good.

Your options are warm, cool, and neutral.

Cool being more of a pink, reddish tone, warm being more of a yellow, golden undertone and

neutral of course being a mix of the two.

Some indicators of what your undertone are may be what kind of jewelry and clothing colors

you prefer.

Often cooler toned friends prefer crisp, whites and black neutrals they feel like silver jewelry

really compliments their skintone and a lot of times warmer complected individuals like

tans, and browns, and that kind of thing for their neutrals and they like gold jewelry

which I have a warmer complexion and I feel like thats definately true for me.

I prefer gold colored jewlery or rose gold, I feel like its just much more complimentary

to my skintone then silver.

I am wearing black today but I worked in cosmetics for ten years what do you want from me.

My wardrobe consists of black, off black, slightly faded gray black cause it got thrown

in the dryer too many times, red black cause it got washed with that one red sock.

Why does everybody have one red sock.

It just exists to ruin your laundry.

So while a lot of those indicators definately depend on personal preferance, its not excatly

a fool proof test its a good place to start.

Another thing you can do is look at the veins on the inside of your wrist.

Its kind of hard to tell on camera but if you have a cooler skintone your veins are

going to look a little bit more on the blue side where as if you have a warmer skintone

theyre gona probably show up a little bit more green and thats because the yellow in

your skin overlapping with the blue makes green!

Color wheel.

I learned that in elementary school.

However this can depend on the lighting your in and if you have a darker complexion it

can be harder to see your veins because lucky you theyre not as prominent.

So if all else fails and your not sure which camp your living in you could be more on the

neutral side like a mix of both.

One of my favorite ways to try and figure it out is a lot of foundations say right on

the bottle what kind of undertone they are and so if you go on the back of your hand

and you take one from each family and swatch it on the back of your hand, you can kinda

tell what clashes and what blends in with your skintone better.

Now please, please do not match your foundation on the back of your hand.

Its not the same color, its not gona look right.

But it is a good way to figure out your undertone and give you a place to start.

Back to where not to match your foundation.

Don't match it to the back of your hand, don't match it on your wrist, I prefer you not even

match it to the outer perimeter of your face because on a lot of us the outside of your

face is gona be darker than the inside and your neck.

This is what matters, Right here.

Because your face is going to be covered in foundation.

And unless you want to blend your makeup alllll the way down.

Everyday.

You really want it to match your neck.

So that way it blends seamlessly, and doesn't give you that weird floating head thing, that

we've all seen and definately been guilty of at some point.

My facebook memories popped up and I had actually had posted a facebook status about how my

foundation was eight shades too dark and I was just gona try and put on enough bronzer

and believe really hard to make it work.

No Ariel, No.

You know better.

I know better.

Ok so you've got you're undertone.

You know where to match your foundation.

Next your going to figure out your formula.

Do you have dry skin, do you have oily skin?

Do you want a tinted moisturizer?

A lot of coverage?

A little coverage?

Its all kind of personal preferance.

But whatever formula you pick, grab the three shades in your undertone that are the closest

by your guess to your match.

And then right along here youre going to swipe them and your going to want to make it a little

bit thicker then what you would maybe apply for a real application, so that you can see

what it is but its ok to blend it through a little bit.

You still want to be able to see which is which.

And so you can see one out of the three is gona blend in better than the others.

And im gona go with the center one.

And that actually is the foundation that im wearing right now.

But for demonstration purposes I want to show you how off it would be if I used the back

of my hand.

Alright so theyre in the same order that they were in on my neck.

But I would have definately gone with the darkest one just looking at it from the back

of my hand, which is my summer shade but it doesn't look right when I wear it right now.

So out of your three foundations the one that almost dissapears, that one is your guy.

Now I know we've all been in that situation where you think you've found the perfect match

and then you get a nasty surprise when you when you find out a little bit more about

them.

Well I have a trick to avoid that, at least where foundations concerned.

So youre gona want to do is once you put your swatches on walk around for about fifteen

minutes to see if its gona oxidize, look at it in a few different types of light, definately

get in natural light if you possibly can.

You want to see how the foundation looks once its dried down to know what youre really getting

into.

If it still looks as amazing as you thought it was going to after about fifteen minutes

then its a go.

Now if youre still not 100% sure if youre shopping at a makeup counter or sephora they

give samples, I recommend getting one and trying it for a day or two and that way you

can take it for a full test run and see how it goes.

Now if you're shopping at ulta they typically do not do samples, I like to shop at Ulta.

They carry everything under the sun.

So what I do if im not 100% sure is just hold onto my receipt for a couple of days until

I've worn it and really looked at it, in all kinds of light, and made sure im not going

to have any problems.

Just wait to throw the bag away.

Alright go forth and color match and remember that practice makes perfect you may not get

it exactly the first time but with a little practice you'll get to where you can color

match like that because you have all the basics that you need to find your perfect match all

by yourself.

Now theres nothing wrong with getting help if its available and you trust the salesperson

offering it to you, they have probably been doing it a lot longer than you could potentially

offer some great advice.

But its always good to go in with your own set of knowledge so that way you can kinda

decide for yourself.

Let me know what you guys think down in the comments, do you usually pick out your own

foundation?

Do you usually get help?

How do you feel about it?

Does it make you nervous?

Rick Hall, the producer who forged the Southern soul style known as the Muscle Shoals sound, died on Tuesday at his home in Muscle Shoals, Ala.

He was 85.

His wife, Linda Kay Hall, said the cause was prostate cancer.

Mr Hall turned small-town Alabama into a crucible of soul, country, pop and rock after he founded FAME Studios in 1959 in Florence, Ala.

FAME stands for Florence Alabama Music Enterprises, although in 1961 the studio moved to nearby Muscle Shoals, where it remains.

Mr Hall also started FAME Publishing, which would amass a substantial catalog of hits, and FAME Records.

Mr Hall's versatile output drew on Southern roots — country, blues, R&B, gospel — and on his instincts for concisely emotive storytelling, lean arrangements and solid grooves.

He was a proud taskmaster in the studio.

"For every hit I have ever produced, I have given three pints of blood and one pint of sweat," Mr Hall wrote in his 2015 memoir, "The Man From Muscle Shoals: My Journey From Shame to Fame." Etta James with Mr Hall at FAME Studios in 1967.

Credit House of FAME LLC/Michael Ochs Archive, via Getty Images In the segregated Alabama of the 1960s, black and white performers collaborated at FAME, as they did at another fortress of Southern soul, Stax in Memphis.

"It was a dangerous time, but the studio was a safe haven where blacks and whites could work together in musical harmony," Mr Hall wrote.

Mr Hall was a producer, co-producer or engineer for major hits by Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett, Clarence Carter, Etta James, the Osmonds, Mac Davis, Paul Anka and the country group Shenandoah, among many others.

His preferred recording method was to gather trusted musicians and seize the best ideas from studio jams.

"We cut them from the heart, not from the charts," he told The New York Times in 2015.

Rick Hall was born Roe Erister Hall on Jan.

31, 1932, in Forest Grove, Miss.

He grew up in rural poverty in northern Alabama, raised by his father, a sawmill worker and sharecropper.

He was 6 when his father gave him a mandolin, and he would go on to learn fiddle, guitar and bass.

By the mid-1950s, he was in a band, the Country Pals, with a daily radio show on WERH in Hamilton, Ala.

Billy Sherrill, who was in another local band, began writing songs with him.

Mr Sherrill would become one of country music's most important producers.

Duane Allman signing a contract with Mr Hall at FAME Studios in 1968.

Before achieving fame with the Allman Brothers Band, Mr Allman was the studio's lead guitarist.

Credit The Hall Family In 1959, Mr Hall, Mr Sherrill and a third partner, Tom Stafford, started FAME as a demo-recording studio and music publisher.

Mr Hall and Mr Sherrill also formed a rock 'n' roll band, the Fairlanes, that added Dan Penn as lead singer; he would become a Southern soul mainstay as a songwriter and producer.

The initial FAME partnership fractured, and Mr Hall restarted FAME Studios across the Tennessee River in Muscle Shoals.

He wrote songs that were recorded by country singers including Roy Orbison, Brenda Lee and George Jones.

But he saw more opportunity in rhythm and blues.

In 1961, he produced a hit: the soul singer Arthur Alexander's "You Better Move On," which would later be recorded by the Rolling Stones.

That song financed the studio where FAME is still located, built in 1962 at 603 East Avalon Avenue in Muscle Shoals.

Another soul hit in 1964, Jimmy Hughes's "Steal Away," established FAME as a record label.

The producer Jerry Wexler of Atlantic Records brought Wilson Pickett to FAME for sessions that yielded five singles: "Land of a Thousand Dances," "Mustang Sally," "Funky Broadway," "Hey Jude" and "Hey Joe." The idea of recording "Hey Jude" came from the studio's lead guitarist: Duane Allman.

Mr Wexler returned to the studios with Aretha Franklin, who recorded two career-defining songs there in a day: "I Never Loved a Man (the Way I Love You)" and "Do Right Woman, Do Right Man." Mr Hall in New York City in 2015.

Franklin's husband and manager at the time, Ted White.

Franklin never returned to FAME Studios; Muscle Shoals musicians, without Mr Hall, recorded "Respect" with her in New York City.

Still, FAME's soul hits continued, among them Etta James's "Tell Mama" and "I'd Rather Go Blind" and Clarence Carter's "Slip Away" and "Patches." A studio band Mr Hall had assembled at FAME — Barry Beckett on keyboards, Jimmy Johnson on guitar, David Hood on bass and Roger Hawkins on drums — became recognized as the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section, also known as the Swampers.

In 1969, in partnership with Mr Wexler, they founded the rival Muscle Shoals Sound Studio in Sheffield, Ala., and went on to record with the Staple Singers, Paul Simon, Bob Seger, Traffic, Bob Dylan and many others.

They eventually reconciled with Mr Hall.

Mr Hall gathered other musicians and continued to make hits.

The Osmonds had a No.

1 pop single with "One Bad Apple," produced by Mr Hall in 1970.

Mr Hall was nominated for a Grammy Award for producer of the year in 1970, and Billboard magazine named him producer of the year in 1971.

Mr Hall largely turned toward country and pop with hits including Bobbie Gentry's 1970 "Fancy," Mac Davis's "Baby, Don't Get Hooked on Me" and Paul Anka's 1974 duet with Odia Coates, "(You're) Having My Baby." He co-produced Shenandoah, which had been a bar band in Muscle Shoals, as it became a country hitmaker in the late 1980s.

The Muscle Shoals sound got renewed attention with "Muscle Shoals," a 2013 documentary directed by Greg Camalier, and in 2014 Mr Hall received the Grammy Trustees Award for lifetime achievement.

Through the decades, FAME Studios has remained active.

Gregg Allman worked there on "Southern Blood," his final album, in 2016.

In addition to his wife, Mr Hall is survived by his sons, Rick Jr., Mark and Rodney; his brothers, Larry and Jerry; his sister, Betty Bedford; and five grandchildren.

Correction: January 3, 2018 An earlier version of this obituary misstated the location of Mr Hall's home, where he died.

It is in Muscle Shoals, Ala.

— not Florence, Ala.

Restek Tip: LC Tubing & Fitting Choices - Duration: 2:44.

Hi everyone, thanks for joining us for this Restek Tip.

Our topic today is tubing and fittings for LC systems.

Now, I'm sure you're familiar with both PEEK and stainless steel,

so let's start out talking about PEEK tubing.

This is used for pressures up to about 5,000 psi, and you may have experienced

what happens if you get beyond this limit.

The tubing will release the fitting with an audible popping sound.

You'll have a leak somewhere,

and you notice your system pressure drops to zero.

So, if you're running a sample, and have an unexpected loss in pressure,

the first place to check are the connections

at your column or at your mixer,

just to make sure that none of these fittings have come loose.

Now, there's two typical diameters of tubing used for LC systems.

The first is a 0.3 millimeter with a blue band,

and these are general-purpose connections for your pump to your mixer,

the mixer up to the autosampler,

and sometimes the autosampler out to the column.

Another diameter most commonly used is a 0.13 millimeter with the red stripe,

and this is used for connections from your column to your detector,

and the small ID keeps the peaks in a tight band,

so that helps you get a little better signal and a better detection limit.

Now, it's really important to use PEEK fittings when you're using PEEK tubing,

because if we use a metal fitting,

the temptation is to overtighten,

which will crimp that smaller inner diameter,

cause some restriction,

and could eventually completely block the flow of mobile phase.

Now, if you're running above 5,000 psi, or have a UHPLC system,

you always want to use stainless steel tubing,

and they come in the same dimensions and the same color codes as the PEEK,

so it's very easy to transfer between systems.

Now, you might be tempted to cut your own stainless-steel tubing,

but we don't recommend it,

because it's really hard to get a nice, square cut

and to remove all the burrs from the cutting process.

By having a really nice, clean, square cut, you can seat the tubing into the port properly,

reduce leaks or places where sample can build up and cause carryover in between runs.

As far as fittings go for stainless steel tubing,

we recommend the EXP type.

This has a metal nut and a ferrule with a polymer cone

that fits into the port, and a metal portion that connects to the nut.

So, no matter what type of system you have,

we've got the tubing and the fittings that'll keep you up and running.

Thanks for joining us,

and stay tuned for more tips from your friends at Restek.
