Toyota Land Cruiser 2018 review - Duration: 16:08.
How idilic and quiet. Oh no, there's Wouter Karssen.
Playing in the sand is doable, but there are moments when it isn't.
Parked on a hump it amazes me a car is able to get up here.
How was is for you, walking up here? - It was doable, but I'm wearing the right shoes.
Professional boots.
Let's go, or do you want to stay here?
It's fun. I hope you get stuck. - Here? That's impossible. I'll show you.
This is difficult.
Don't you know what we're doing today? If you want to shoot on location, stay on the path.
You have to get out, Martijn. - How long have we been driving?
I think less than 10 minutes. - You can see where we started.
There, at the dome.
We're stuck. We can't reverse either.
I'm putting it in Crawl mode.
This is Crawl mode.
It will try to get sand and mud under its wheel.
I just got that tip. Look, it works.
I'm pushing it uphill by turning the wheel.
I think the tow truck will be here before we crawled out.
This is why you should never go off-road alone.
But I have you. - With one car.
You can walk. - To get my own car with a tow rope.
You have a spare, don't you?
There we go. - That's much easier.
Turn left. - To the left?
This is brilliant. It's not very educational for you to see, but for us it's fun.
Let's get it dirty first, or it won't look good.
This is the last real off-road car you can buy in the Netherlands.
That asks for an explanation. How can it be?
A number of parts that the fake cars don't have.
Many SUVs don't have all-wheel drive.
They only have front or rear-wheel drive. That's wrong.
This is one of the few cars, besides pickup trucks, with a ladder frame.
That means you can make a rolling chassis and the body sits on top of it.
That has a number of advantages. It's much, much stronger.
The car is stronger off-road. You can open and close the doors when it's on an incline.
You can't do that with a unibody self-supporting body SUV fake lifted station wagon.
It has all-wheel drive, which is standard for this car.
Also, differentials. You can lock the centre diff.
It's a Torsen differential. It can regulate itself and direct power to the front or the back.
It can also lock completely.
If you choose the off-road package, the rear axle also has a Torsen diff that varies the power or locks.
The next building block you need is a good suspension.
Many off-road cars used to have rigid axles.
That's nice when going off-road, but not so much when driving on the road.
You're doing that a lot in the Netherlands.
The Land Cruiser is available with KDSS, the Kinetic something system.
It has an anti-roll bar. That's a bar going from this to that wheel.
The car wants to do this when taking a corner. The anti-roll bar levels it.
That's very convenient when you're driving on a road, but not so much off-road.
You want the wheels to flex when going off-road.
This wheel is all the way up.
Its spring is compressed. The front wheel is still touching the ground, as other cars do too.
Look at this side, how much gap there is. It's big.
This is still touching the ground.
It has insane flex; over 60 cm. That's up to here.
Higher than my boots. Aren't they pretty? My mother-in-law gave them to me. I really like them.
The last ingredient for amazing off-road performance is a good driver. I'm leaving.
Luckily there are assistance systems. We already know a number of these.
There's a Multi-terrain Selector, with which you can choose all sorts of terrains.
You have to choose the mode that is best suited to what you're doing at that moment.
It has cameras to see if there's still room at the sides, the back, and the front.
The Land Cruiser can look underneath the car. That's convenient.
But there's mud. The trick they used is brilliant in its simplicity.
This front camera... It gives a good picture even when it's dirty.
This video feed is delayed. It looks forward and sees this.
If I drive forward, it remembers this image matches with where you're driving now.
It doesn't really look under the car, but sort of.
All these small things make it easier to see where to steer it, to prevent you from falling off a ledge.
All these things make it easier.
Let's drive it. I chose low gearing. Not many off-road cars have this.
The low gearing makes sure the car moves slower at the same rpm. Yes, that's right.
That means more torque at the wheels. That's convenient when going uphill.
It's better to control. That's boring for this video, but off-road driving needs to be controlled and careful.
There are more systems. I'm switching it to mud and sand in the Multi-terrain system.
It's muddy here. We're following the tracks.
That's exciting. See?
They say a ladder frame is more comfortable, but I feel a bump sometimes.
Anyway, the Land Cruiser is an icon. It's 65 years old.
They started after World War II. The Japanese government wanted a car to drive up Mount Fuji.
Toyota built this car, which became the first Land Cruiser.
If you've ever been off-road on a different continent, you see Land Cruisers everywhere.
It's the standard choice. You don't go off-road with a Mercedes or Range Rover.
You choose a Land Cruiser. They can go everywhere and don't break down. They keep going.
This looks like a small hill. - It's leaning over.
I could make a milkshake from this mud if I wanted to.
I understand this car. It's no fake. It feels real.
It can do everything you want it to do.
It has its advantages.
There are different engines outside of Europe; gasoline engines.
Those won't be sold in the EU because they're not popular.
We have a 2.8-liter 4-cylinder diesel engine with 175 hp.
That's not much, but you don't need more.
A manual transmission is available. That's the 70,000 euro base model.
That one has a manual transmission, but most people will choose the automatic transmission.
It's a 6-speed. This is no race car. On the road it does 0-100 kph (62 mph) in 12.5 seconds.
Nice and bumpy here.
Let's find a different road. That looks fun.
I don't think it will work from this side.
I was standing too close.
It looks like I'm fooling around, but I want to demonstrate something.
I can lock the diff now. Lock the centre diff in neutral.
Shall I lock the rear diff as well?
I did it without locked diffs, now I'm going to do it with locked diffs.
It's special that Toyota still builds a car like the Land Cruiser in 2018.
It has all the creature comfort you want, such as safety systems, collision warning, and cameras.
It's not too expensive either. It's a shame we only get a diesel, though.
I wonder if I'll be okay.
The bottom touched the ground. - I think so too.
You have to launch it over that hole.
Martijn has tips. This won't work.
You almost made it. - Almost.
You need a running start.
That was too slow.
Will we get stuck if we... - You can see we will.
I see. This is fun.
Too bad we didn't film it from the outside, but this is a victory.
That's fun about this car. We can get help and we needed it.
You can see what this car can do. It's more than you expect.
Let's go uphill. That's fun too. Because we can.
Martijn is cleaning the camera.
It's sad when the camera gets cleaner by putting it in this. Show us.
At the office we would've put it in the dishwasher, but we don't have an office.
This is it.
That's better. It's important to use a waterproof casing, though.
The puddle wasn't that clean after all.
Who needs this in the Netherlands, where this is exciting for an off-road car
such as the Toyota Adventure Line. A real off-road car is convenient for a number of people.
For example, rescue teams, fire brigades, and police outside the Randstad.
Sometimes you need the off-road capabilities. There is no fooling around.
For lifeguards, but there may also be a fire that can't be accessed using roads.
This is 1/3 of the market for Land Cruisers.
In the Netherlands they buy 150 cars a year.
1/3 of the group needs tensile strength. You're allowed to tow 3,000 kg with a private license plate.
With a business license plate, only 2 people are allowed inside the car.
A private license plate is allowed up to 7 people.
A business license plate may tow 3,500 kg. That's a lot.
Another 1/3 of the people simply thinks it's cool.
Like my hairdresser. She has a Land Cruiser.
I think it has something.
This is more fun than the soft off-road cars with 300-400 hp.
Those aren't very fast and you can't really go off-road.
This one is invincible. The off-road package with the differential locks takes you places.
You can drive through water. That's bizarre.
I've never driven through water before. It's strange.
Plan B. - Yes.

Avengers Infinity War NEW Thor Will Survive CONFIRMED? Galactus To Appear In Phase 4? - Duration: 7:35.
the hell are you guys
whas good Youtube Warstu here with the video on Marvel Avengers infinity war
Avengers 4 and post phase 4 so we already know that phallus is gonna get
ass handed to him post Thor 3 by Thanos and that's how he's gonna end up in a
garden a galaxy ship and that's why right at the end of the affinity war
trailer we see him saying to the guardians who the hell are you so
recently the Russo brothers have made a lot of comments that Thor's character
development is going to start from the gecko in infinity war where it left off
during Thor 3 which is very interesting so Chris Hemsworth who actually played
Thor recently said he's finished filming Avengers 4 which is interesting because
we already know that everything's wrapped up as multiple other actors
haven't said the exact same thing in interviews so he said this in a recent
interview having just wrapped up filming Avengers 4 Chris Hemsworth finds himself
at the end of his original contract with Marvel despite some doubt in the past
hem worth confirmed that he would love to be able to continue for his role for
years to come tell an IGN I've literally two days ago finished filming Avengers 4
and that's my contract my pre-existing contract is now done so it's kind of
like wow that's it two or three films ago I was like okay a
couple more I was enjoying it but I would I was like I felt a little
restricted then he went on to say then he commented on the Thor character has
unfolded and what that implies for the next installment of the series I feel
like we've reinvented the character a number of times even in these two next
two he evolved again and you don't get that opportunity in a franchise so I
don't feel a renewed sense of excitement and enthusiasm and more so than ever I
think then he also went on to say he hinted at more character evolution for
Thor in the series which is kind of interesting
if they were not already doing so chris hemsworth comments it's not official
confirmation a new contract extension might be a little more likely now given
the fact that that thought appears to be the strongest avenger going into
infinity war obviously after what happened at the end of Thor 3 with him
gaining odin level and powers so this was an IGN interview and he awesome it
was a long interview I'll put it down below he says right now it's about the
Avengers and it's about the story aligned and those characters that's the
focus in all honesty and I haven't had conversations about anything beyond that
so what does this tell you if he says that he wants to play Thor post Avengers
4 then sure as hell Thor doesn't die during Avengers
infinity war he is quite young in real life I think he's like 32 so it's not
like a Robert Downey jr. situation where Robert Downey jr. appears to want to get
out the role also room leak Chris Evans a lot of the main original Avengers are
there contract is up and it's not looking like they're all going real but
it is quite positive that Thor says his character is gonna keep evolving
throughout Avengers 3 and Avengers 4 he got a massive character upgrade during
Thor 3 where he became a chameleon and got og strong which is kind of funny so
I hope they kind of carried out throughout infinity war but I hope he
doesn't kind of become this kind of comedian like he wasn't Thor Ragnarok
but that was like a self-contained movie although it does have ties to other
things so what who could the villain be for Thor post an infinity war and
obviously post Avengers 4 I think now that Marvel owns Fox technically while
Disney owns Fox Fox and they both are in the same company now I think that
galactose could be the best option going forward obviously Galactus has been
compared to Fanus before because they are both two powerhouses obviously
Galactus was okay it created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby
be these two people created a hell of our characters he first appeared in the
Fantastic Four and obviously that was published in the 1966
so Galactus is basically a cosmic world destroyer the sole survivor of the
universe existed before the Big Bang Galactus is perhaps the most feared
being in the Cosmo which is kind of interesting seeing as everyone talks
about how crazy strong phalluses but according to all my research Thanos
would still take him out if and only if he had the Infinity Gauntlet it would be
interesting to see Thanos and galactose actually go up against each other but I
don't think that's gonna happen but at the same time I don't think they're
gonna kill fat off that would be stupid so untold millions of years ago he was
born basically born a savage and his backstory is kind of interesting he has
a massive story arc in the comic books with king rude Thor so perhaps that
could be a storyline that they use going forward because I know after after that
obviously Avengers four they're pushing more into the cosmic kind of side we're
getting Captain Marvel supposed to get out of warlock in gardens the galaxy
three so they're gonna push more into the cosmic side of Marvel so using a
character like Galactus would be kind of interesting and thought it's the
strongest avenger so Anita's article says which is kind of
interesting so let me know in the comments down below do you think this
actually confirms that Chris Hemsworth is telling you that Thor isn't gonna die
because I don't think they're going to set another Thor movie Thor for after
we're really before anything else hasn't folded the low Captain Marvel is gonna
be set before Ironman but that's just for like the continuity reasons and who
do you think the villain should be for the next Thor movie I think galactose
would be at awesome character let me know down below guys all your comments
about everyone you want to come in obviously there's a lot more people who
could come in but galactose is a very strong character
he's got a lot of artwork made by all these awesome artists of him so I think
Galactus would be the best option for them it's pretty clear that Chris wants
to make another movie as Thor so I can't see why they wouldn't let him do that
because of the amount of money that Thor 3 made was crazy anyway guys please like
scrub and comment and like always G join that notification squad button down
below and I will catch you guys in another video very soon catch ya later
what's up so what's gonna read a massive description then but I changed mine I
mean

WRITE WITH ME! | writing work day [CC] - Duration: 11:52.
Hey guys, it's Lainey and today I am doing a different kind of video, but still in
the strain of writing. I'm gonna be doing a Write With Me where I'm gonna be
spending all day writing and doing other things and I'm just gonna bring my
camera along with me. I didn't do it December writing vlog. The past month was
just very draining for me, but I'm very excited to finish Witch Pirates and I'm
gonna hopefully try to do it this month. Right now it is January 6. It's a
Saturday. Saturdays are my favorite days because I don't have to work, but I
decided that I'm gonna spend the day doing a work schedule like writing
session. I'm in the third act, but I haven't really outlined it completely, so that's
something I definitely need to do. I have all my different scenes for the third
act, but I need to put them in a cohesive line. So let's start right now.
So right now I am just eating some breakfast and I'm also pulling out my little notebook
that I've been using for all of my Witch Pirate type things. Right now I'm just
reading over what I have previously written for my brainstorming of Act Three
and then I also kind of got some ideas so then I start just writing, jotting
those down so I didn't forget.
Next thing I'm doing here is, I'm going over and writing down everything I want
to do today. I like the idea of making a plan so that you can check off every
part of the list when you've complete it. It just feels very satisfying.
This is my plan for today. There's 10 items and you'll see me checking off
every single one. First thing on my to-do list is to finish chapter 24.
It ended up taking me a while to complete this chapter I didn't think it was gonna take
me almost two and a half hours to write this chapter, but it did and I wrote
about 2.4 thousand words in this session. In my first drafts my chapters tend to
be very long, so I know that when I go back and I'm editing these they tend to
get a lot shorter. Mostly because I'm trying to get to know the characters in
the situation and describing things so I know that my chapters are very bulky at
first, just because it's the first draft.
This is something I've been putting off for a couple weeks now. This is something
different I've done for this project. I mentioned this a lot in my NaNoWriMo
video. I've been outlining this project differently than I did Sharp Hollows
and I actually really like this way that I did it this time around. I've been
going by Acts. So I'll completely outline the first act and then I will write that
and then while I'm getting ideas while I'm writing the first act, I'll jot those
down in my act two brainstorming. And then once I finish the act, then I will
go into my pad of paper here and I will continue to brainstorm of what I want
to put an Act Two and then I'll actually outline it. So that's where I'm at right
now, I was getting towards the end of Act Two and I know I needed to complete the
outline for Act Three because I structured this book as a three act structure.
That ended up being about a three page outline for Act Three. That's the longest
it's been of the three acts. The first two were only like a page and a half, but
this one was definitely three and what I'm writing in this outline I'm doing
bullet points, so I'm just... each bullet point represents a chapter and I go
through and I write a quick summary of what needs to happen in that chapter and
whose perspective it's gonna be. This really helps me organize my thoughts as
well and I really liked doing it this way and I think when I go back to
rewrite Sharp Hollows, I will definitely be doing the three-act structure and
outlining the way that I did in this book.
Outlining and writing chapter 24 took up a lot of time that I didn't expect for
today. After my shower I started making lunch
and right now I am making a grilled ham and cheese sandwich with onions and it
was delicious and I also made a garden salad and because it kind of took me a
long time to get to this point because it's like 2 p.m. by now, I decided to
start reading Harry Potter during lunch and that would kind of go into my hour,
my first hour of reading Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince.
Last year I started rereading the series because I went to BookNet Fest and one
of the days we went to Harry Potter World in Orlando, Florida. I stopped
reading the series when NaNoWriMo started because I didn't read all in
November, I wanted to focus on writing my own story. This is the book that I kind
of stopped reading when the first come out.
I forget how old I was, but I was pretty young and now I can finally say I'm
gonna be finishing the series here in 2018 and I'm really excited.
It totally looks like I'm out of breath as I'm watching this right now and so,
yeah, but it like sped up a lot. So that's why it looks like I'm marathon
panting while I'm reading Harry Potter.
After reading, I decided to kind of do my relaxed time on my phone. I was just
texting back my mom for when she texted me earlier and then I decided to make
some tea and write for 30 minutes non-stop and I decided to put my writing
playlist up on my TV. if anybody wonders the tea that I'm
drinking is raspberry hibiscus
And then I did some sprints. The NaNoWriMo website has kind of like a
sprint timer on their website so that's what I was using to time my sprints.
Then it was back to Harry Potter so I decided to put on the Harry Potter
soundtracks on my TV and I just started reading. If you're interested, right now I
am at the part where Harry is at the Burrow and they all went to Diagon Alley
to get their school supplies for the next year. This is the first time I read
about Diagon Alley after I visited it in Orlando,
so it was really cool because I was like totally picturing me walking through and
seeing, you know, the Weasley shop. It was just, like, really nice.
And then I ended the day with more writing sprints. It was pretty cold out
in Iowa. It's just like freezing cold right now and I hate going outside, so I
definitely was really cozy all throughout the day as I was working.
You can see I have like a lot of blankets and I was just really comfortable. Hydrate
and keep warm and that's like the best environment for me to write, so I really
enjoyed it. Plus I had my windows open, well, my my curtains open throughout the
day so I could like see the snow outside and even though I don't really like the
snow right now I like looking at it and it just kind of gives me a nice
atmosphere to write in and then that was it!
So it is about 7:30 and I am calling it a night. I'm probably gonna do some more
reading because I was like in a really interesting spot in Harry Potter before
I had to close it so I was like damn, but I'm probably gonna read more of that
tonight. I did write quite a bit. I'll flash across the screen how many words I
wrote today. It's not a super great amount, but it's definitely more than I
wrote in the entirety of December. I feel like I hit over this creative block that
I was feeling, especially in December and I just really liked this format too, I
just like this little Write With Me. So tell me what you guys thought about this
kind of video down below and I'll see you guys very soon. Bye!

THE TRENDING TAB IN JORDAN!! - Duration: 8:05.
Gawhom: a Jordanian Hello .. And greetings from Mutasem to the citizens of the Internet man it sounds weird
in English!
So I was exploring the internet the other day, looking for a new topic for my next video,
trying to find something to talk about, when I thought :"hey!
Why not look in the trending tab or page or whatever on YouTube?
I should see what people are watching, right?
To make something that people would want to see?".
So I did, I clicked on the fucking hell hole that is the trending thingy, and oh my god
YouTube!
We have a fucking problem and we need to talk!
This is my first video of this year!!
There it is, this is what I've found .. The first thing that got my attention is this
beautiful yellow thumbnail .. Fozy Mozy?!
.. What kinda name is that?
.. Okay, maybe it's good..
It has over 4m views..
And it's fucking trending so let's take a look!
Em Kareem? .. Hey, Em Kareem
what Fozyeh? what is going on?
-Em kareem? -Ah?
the trash can was over there, why is it here now?
I didn't tell you?
no no no no no no no no no no no you didn't?
YA ALLAH THE CRINGE!!!
I can't, let's ... let's move along.
Then I noticed this double upload of the same fucking video on 2 different channels .. At
first I thought that people are ripping each others videos and making it to trending .. But
when you look closely, it's uploaded by shahid.net which is owned by MBC, it's one of their products,
so big TV companies are uploading same shit to different channels and all of their uploads
are making it to trending at the same time .. Yeah, seems legit, there's nothing
shady about that at all.. okay okay .. Let's move along what else is going on in here .. Hey,
check this shit out..
There's 1 234567..
I've found 8 but there's probably more down there, I don't know I'm afraid of what I might
find at the bottom of hell .. they're clips from "bab al harah", it's a Syrian drama TV
show I hate it but that's just my opinion .. Which is..
I think it's copyrighted?
Isn't it?
I don't fucking know .. It's all over YouTube..
People are recording it and uploading it and it's..
It's fucking trending!!
What else is there, there's this security cam footage of this asshole hitting a taxi
driver with a fucking sword .. I can't show this shit on my channel or YouTube will fucking
destroy me .. But obviously "Al-Wakeel" can!
Because they're a decent news organization!!
Let's see what else is there .. More TV shows..
Political bullshit .. People dying in a car accident..
Football matches results..
Here's a video by an actual YouTuber..
Hey, good I've found one..
congrats body .. Your sister got you to trending .. maaaaaybeee no no!
.. Let's take a closer look..
-Why are you so sugar? -I don't know .. because my sister is sugar! (THIS IS UNBEARABLE)
ahhh for fuck sake
What else is fucking trending?!
(Nothing in this video is clear, it's voiced by a bot)
See? Why ... should any one bust their asses trying to make good content or buy expensive equipment?,
Blue Yeti microphones or whatever, when you can use a fucking Text-To-Speech software
to voice over your fucking video .. I can't fucking wait to listen to this fucking Bot
butchering every fucking word in the Arabic fucking language for 5 fucking minutes and
51 fucking seconds!
I'M FILMING!
And I was teaching myself how to do cool tricks with after effect..
Fuck me, right?
And of course, there has to be trending ads..
And...
Oh my god this..
This is what I should start doing with my life..
I should start making videos about penis .. Why should I bother researching the Apollo missions
for an entire month for a video that barely made 800 views..
When I should make a video about "how to get a 6 hour long erection using banana peels"...
Wh..
Why..
!!! Look at that fucking thumbnail .. IT'S A FUCKING
WORK OF ART!!
.. WHAT A FUCKING MASTERPIECE!!
And here I was wasting my time dressing the spider like a construction worker with hard
helmet and a rock drill How the fuck did that get to trending?!
Isn't that against the terms?
I must see .. My Wife's Channel!!!
Creative name..
Nice..
You know this shit is legit when you can't tell how many subscribers the

Qawamta: it doesn't mean anything
And 3.5 million no one noticed that this fucker can't even spell right!
And 22000 assholes like this shit..
Here I can suggest something for you assholes..
Enjoy your fucking boner I'm not sure if the information in this video
is right or wrong and I don't fucking care, I don't have time to research the "6 hours
long boner ritual", and by the way, who the fuck have an extra 6 hours of their fucking
life .. To waste it playing with your dick you lonely miserable fuckers.
So these are the trending videos in Jordan for this week and...
I want to die .. I know that maybe it's not YouTube's fault that people will click on everything
.. And get it to trending but YouTube why not put the good shit in front of them so
they can push it to trend and bury these fucking abominations, I'm not complaining just for
me, but there's a lot of YouTubers here in Jordan and in the middle east in general that
deserves a fucking spot on trending, instead of this crap, people who actually put effort
in their videos, they make great fucking content, but they're buried .. DEEP DOWN .. Under piles
and piles of trending shit.. while these YouTubers struggles to make their videos reach to their
own subscribers, the solution is easy, you don't have to work hard on your shit or buy
equipment to make quality content, all you have to do is pick the cringiest name in the
universe and dress up like a fucking drag queen, I'm not sexy enough for that, or copy
a random article and let a fucking bot read it for you, or no .. Make photos about health
advice for your penis and make them into a slide show .. Or better yet..
You don't have to do any of that shit..
Just record whatever copyrighted shows that airs on TV..
And upload it to YouTube or don't record them just wait until someone else does and then
download that shit .. And re upload it to your channel!!
Because that will get you to trending not the quality of your content, in fact, if you
make something good, you'll risk that video getting demonetized!
now excuse me I'm gonna go work on my next video for a month so I can get
my next 200 views .. But before I go..
YouTube .. Get your fucking shit together..
And for the love of..
What ever it is you believe in pay more attention to the YouTubers in the middle east!
Fuck!
I cursed a lot, this is gonna be a pain in the ass to .. You know what?
Fuck it, I'm not censoring anything I'm done censoring my self to please the fucking algorithm!

These Are The Best Horror Films Of 2017 - Duration: 8:35.
From major franchises to brutally clever indie hits, 2017 was a fantastic year for horror.
Sure, you probably already know about heavy hitters like It and Get Out, but plenty of
other great horror films were also released during the year.
If you're in the mood for some spine-tingling additions to your queue, here are our picks
for the best horror movies of 2017.
Split
M. Night Shyamalan has had a rocky decade or so, but Split was definitely a return to
his twisty form.
The story focused on the abduction of a group of young women by a man with multiple personalities,
which made for a taut and claustrophobic thriller, anchored by actor James McAvoy's transitions
between his character's many identities.
Critics praised his performance, as well as Shyamalan's ability to balance those shifting
points of view—and channel the filmmaking prowess that made him a name to watch after
The Sixth Sense.
Even better?
The director used his trademark twist in a way that no one saw coming, setting up a must-see
sequel.
Stephen King's It
Send in the clowns.
Stephen King's It was previously adapted as a TV miniseries in 1990, and that live-action
version of the author's horror classic still gives us nightmares—but it's nothing compared
to director Andy Muschietti's big-screen version.
"Hiya Georgie.
What a nice boat."
The film earned rave reviews, with critics hailing it as a terrifying and a clever exploration
of the psychological trauma King captured so well in his novel.
Bill Skarsgård's take on Pennywise the Clown is basically face-painted nightmare fuel,
so taking a trip to the sewers of Derry is well worth the risk.
Because hey, we all float down there, right?
Get Out
This isn't just one of the best horror movies of 2017—it's one of the best horror films
of the past decade.
Writer and director Jordan Peele leaves you guessing right up until the end, slowly ratcheting
up the terror with a story that starts out like any other innocent, average dramedy.
Peel back a few layers, though, and the story tackles race relations through the lens of
a horror tale, serving up a sharp, thoughtful, funny blend of horror and social satire that
treads almost a bit too close to reality at times in ways that will make your skin crawl.
The Devil's Candy
This indie horror flick focuses on an artist who starts painting terrifying images after
moving into a new home—and then someone starts terrorizing him and his family.
"I don't remember painting this."
This scary look into the depths of human depravity doubles as a clever subversion of the horror
movie tropes viewers have come to expect and was thus one of the most underrated movies
of the year.
Lake Bodom
If you're looking for a throwback to the classic days when machete-wielding maniacs prowled
the woods and menaced unsuspecting teens, book a trip to director Taneli Mustonen's
Lake Bodom.
This classically styled slasher focuses on the urban legend of a viciously fatal night
that occurred decades ago, as a group of teens plan a trip to investigate and recreate the
events of the old tale.
But it turns out they're in for a lot more than a mere homage.
Even if the movie doesn't exactly reinvent the gore genre, this is still a scary good
time.
Life
This space-set sci-fi horror flick hit the sweet spot by throwing The Thing, Gravity
and Alien into a blender.
The result was a whole lot of terrifying fun.
It focuses on the crew of the International Space Station as they investigate a mysterious
new life form that's been recovered on Mars.
Their experiments quickly take a turn for the worse when they realize this alien creature
might be a lot smarter -- and more sinister -- than they'd given it credit for.
"Life's very existence requires destruction."
It Comes at Night
This post-apocalyptic, psychological horror flick picks up after a virus has wiped out
most of the world's population.
The story focuses on a family that's cut itself off from the rest of the world to avoid the
plague.
When another group of survivors join them, paranoia and fear of what might be in the
woods drives them beyond the edge.
Critics praised the film for finding terror in the relationship among survivors, and bringing
a refreshingly simple doom to a tale of the apocalypse.
A Dark Song
When you dabble with the dark arts, it's almost certainly destined to go wrong.
That's the premise behind A Dark Song, which follows two people who retreat into a house
in the woods to try and make contact with those in the beyond.
What happens will stick with you long after the movie ends, nestling into your psyche
for some lingering scares.
It might've initially flown under the radar, but A Dark Song is well worth a visit.
Raw
The story of a vegetarian who develops a taste for raw meat is an interesting narrative,
but Raw wrings that premise for all it's worth and more, telling a story with deep social
and emotional poignancy, with a clever spin on the challenges of adolescence.
And the way writer and director Julia Ducournau wraps that story is a gory masterpiece positively
dripping with viscera and blood.
The Girl With All the Gifts
One of the smartest zombie movies in recent years, The Girl With All the Gifts uses the
undead to explore some deeper emotional and philosophical questions.
The story focuses on a group of children who are somehow immune to an epidemic disease
which has destroyed the world, and the role they can play in saving humanity.
It might be a post-apocalyptic zombie story with doses of sci-fi, but the film is packed
with more than a few good scares.
Annabelle: Creation
The Conjuring has quickly become one of the biggest horror franchises of the decade, and
the latest spinoff from the creepy mothership does not disappoint.
Annabelle: Creation, the second film to focus on the nefarious antique doll featured in
the main Conjuring films, jumps back in time to tell an early story from when Annabelle
was still a relatively new danger-doll.
A marked improvement over the first Annabelle film, the film was a surprisingly moody and
effective horror yarn.
Happy Death Day
If you're looking for a horror flick with some biting humor, make a date with Happy
Death Day—it's Groundhog Day with a bloody slasher twist.
The film centers on a college student who's executed on her birthday, which she has to
keep reliving over and over until she can figure out who attacked her.
The story has charm and, although derivative, offers up some authentic thrills and humor
for audiences of the jump-scare persuasion.
The Babysitter
Netflix's The Babysitter is one heck of a fun little horror romp, best described as
an R-rated, blood-soaked, titillating modern-day spin on a 1980s horror B-movie.
It's obviously low-budget, but although it's not high art, the film is still well worth
the hour-and-a-half it takes to kick back and enjoy it.
It's a cheesy good time, so give it a shot and The Babysitter might just be the silly
little surprise you needed this year.
Better Watch Out
Critics are calling this one "Home Alone meets The Strangers" because the film puts a spin
on the home invasion thriller formula.
Better Watch Out follows what happens when invaders break in to a home protected by a
group of kids and their babysitter.
Instead of retreating in fear, the kids start setting booby traps and have a whole lot of
R-rated fun in the process to protect the house -- with plenty of twists to unwrap before
the credits roll.
"Isn't this exciting?"
Super Dark Times
If you're looking for a VHS-era throwback, the 1990s-set Super Dark Times finds terror
in the simple, boring life in suburbia.
The visceral thriller is considered "a coming-of-age nightmare" and landed to near universal critical
acclaim.
The story follows a group of teens who are driven apart following the disappearance of
another teen, and presents a bygone era of innocence through a bloody intense lens.
Gerald's Game
Stephen King's collection has been all over the small and silver screens this year, but
the latest adaptation quietly slipped under the radar—despite being one of the best
of the bunch.
Gerald's Game follows a wife who's left shackled to a bed after a weekend getaway with her
husband takes a dark turn.
She's forced to face everything from starvation to her own doubts and demons as she tries
to find a way to escape and survive.
The novel was previously thought to be unfilmable, so imagine everyone's surprise when the movie
not only happened -- but turned out to be pretty great, without sacrificing the meat
of the story.

The Shady Side Of Cardi B - Duration: 5:08.
Rapper Belcalis Almanzar, known to fans as Cardi B, has climbed her way to the top of
the charts thanks to her smash hit "Bodak Yellow."
And while other artists may try to maintain a prim and proper image in the media, this
Bronx native always speaks her mind — landing her smack-dab in the center of plenty of controversies.
Here's the shady side of hip hop's reigning queen.
"You should know about me.
You might like me, I don't know.
You might find out something that inspire you or something I don't know."
Rise to success
Cardi B was gaining notoriety online long before she launched her music career.
After making a name for herself as a dancer in NYC by the age of 18, and racking up hundreds
of thousands of followers on Vine and Instagram, she hired a social media manager who convinced
her to start rapping.
According to Fader, her manager noted,
"Her speaking style in certain scenarios—like when she yelled at a dude on the phone, for
example—were proof of a unique voice."
"I'm not gonna be like 'I'm smart,' and this and that.
You can think I'm dumb, but dumb people don't go nowhere, so it's okay."
Cardi B released her first freestyle right before she joined Love & Hip Hop New York,
Season 6.
"My name is Cardi B, and I'm just a regular degular shmegular girl from the Bronx."
But some say Cardi B had it too easy.
And, according to Fader, she disagrees, saying,
"When I was a stripper, I used to strip like six nights a week.
I used to bust my a--.
And I didn't stop [working].
Until today I work just as hard as I did before."
Musical chameleon
Her songs have impressed fans and critics alike with their catchy lyrics and head-bobbing
beats, but some have accused Cardi B of stealing other rappers' flows.
"Sometimes people tell me mean things and I look at myself in the mirror and I'm like,
'really?'"
Her most popular hit, "Bodak Yellow," was reportedly inspired by Kodak Black's 2014
track, "No Flockin."
Cardi B has made it clear she doesn't care if people think she copied Kodak or Meek Mill
or Migos, telling the crowd at one of her shows,
"So what?
I'ma sound like all your favorite rappers.
I'ma take all they flows and I'ma body it, bitch!"
Not copping to it
In September 2017, Cardi B took to Twitter to accuse a New York City cop of putting her
in a chokehold and slamming her against her car.
According to sources for TMZ, another driver hit Cardi B's Bentley SUV.
When she got out and argued with the other driver, Cardi B claimed a white officer roughed
her up but eventually let her go.
TMZ reported the NYPD checked surveillance videos in the surrounding areas and found
nothing to support the rapper's claim.
When Cardi B subsequently clammed up, authorities began to doubt anything inappropriate had
happened.
Kicked out of a hotel
According to the Times Union, the hip hop star booked a room at the Albany Hilton after
one of her shows, but other guests complained about noise around 1 a.m.
Hotel staff reportedly smelled marijuana, and management asked the rapper and her crew
to pack up their things and leave.
After getting the boot, a video of Cardi B leaving the hotel was posted online.
In the footage, she calls a staff member a "racist motherf---er" and says,
"Albany is known for being racist."
She later deleted the video from her Instagram account.
Trigger happy
Cardi B's music video for "Bodak Yellow" has amassed hundreds of millions of views on YouTube,
but not everyone is happily singing along.
The rapper has been accused of cultural appropriation for dressing in an abaya and headscarf–religious
garb worn by Muslim women.
An op-ed for Refinery29 noted,
"Cardi B is not in any way connected to the Arab heritage or the Middle East: she's from
Trinidadian and Dominican descent."
But it doesn't end there.
In shady tweets published by the BET, Cardi was blasted for calling dark-skinned black
women "roaches," which she brushed off, saying she also uses the term for herself.
"Thank you everybody that has seen me blossom into a butterfly, you know what I'm saying?
I went from a roach to a butterfly."
And that wasn't the only comment she caught heat over.
She also made a cringe-worthy video threatening to get her cheating man drunk and, quote,
"let" a transgender person assault him, using a derogatory term for transgender
during her rant.
Cardi B later tweeted that she didn't know the term she used was socially unacceptable
— but also told haters to "shut the f--- up with the bulls---" on Twitter.
Begging for attention
When Cardi B stepped out with Offset from the rap group Migos, they instantly became
a hip-hop power couple.
Initially, she tried to keep their relationship private, but it didn't take long for her to
allegedly use her love life to attract attention online.
In October 2017, over a span of about ten minutes, Cardi B posted a series of back-to-back
Snapchats, alluding to her and Offset calling it quits.
While fans began to freak out over their breakup happening in real time, Cardi B soon waved
the white flag, and offered to treat Offset to a meal at Waffle House.
Days later, Offset put an 8-carat diamond engagement ring on her hand, leading many
to deduce that their lovers' quarrel was nothing more than a publicity stunt.
Gang ties
Cardi B has made it very clear that she's been a member of the Bloods gang since she
was 16-years-old, and she unapologetically raps about her "bloody" affiliation in "Bodak
Yellow."
The rapper even received a special gift from Offset–a blinged-out necklace paying homage
to her gang ties.
"I need to let all these hoes know that none of their n----- is safe."
