hey guys hope you're all doing really well and welcome back to my channel
today's video is kindly in collaboration with caltrate caltrate want us to be
the best versions of ourselves in 2018 for me that's staying on top of
everything as a new mum and a business owner yeah I always make sure that you
know everything is balanced and I always get a lot of questions on how I balance
everything so I thought I'd cover all that today and show you guys also my
everyday makeup routine so if you're interested then please keep watching
they're starting out with my primer and I'm still loving it this one here it's
the designer brands luminescent primer I love this primer because it gives me
that luminescent finish sort of like that radiant finish and
yeah it just keeps my skin hydrated during the day as well and my go-to
foundation at the moment is the w7 HD foundation I'm in the shade buff and
then I just use my oval brush to apply okay so let's talk about balance I get
so many questions on how I balance everything so I thought I'd give you
guys a little bit of a background with what I've got going on so obviously I am
a mum 2 or 1 year old he is my pride and joy and yet so he keeps me music he's a
very active one-year-old and obviously I've got my YouTube channel which I love
making videos for you guys and interacting with you I have my blog
histogram I still really like Instagram guys I know there's a lot of controversy
around it with the algorithm and so forth but for me I love taking pictures
I love interacting with you guys and really the likes and the followers and
so forth really don't matter to me I just still really like Instagram and I
do some consultancy work as well and obviously I am a wife a daughter a
sister a friend and I look after the house and everything as well so yeah
I've got it going on and I know all of us mums have
going on so definitely share your tips in the comment section as well but and
then I like to get my Ecotools makeup sponge and just Pat the foundation down
I find that my makeup lasts longer when I Pat it down what we all want okay so
on to the balancing act what I really like to do is follow a
routine I know there's some people who prefer not to have a routine and just go
with the flow I pretty much go with the flow but I've
got specific days that I like to do things I have a calendar and many many
lists so I personally also think our little guy likes a routine because he
sort of knows what's coming up and then he can sort of go with the flow with
that so I've got separate calendars that are sort of merged together so I know
what I'm doing each day like the night before just using the other side of my
makeup sponge the night before I sort of just sit down in bed and work out okay
what's next what am i doing tomorrow because honestly guys mum brain is real
I sort of think oh my gosh what's next you know and and I can just see what
I've got going on tomorrow what I need to do check my lists and everything and
any time I think of anything I have to write it down so I just get my phone put
it in my notes just so they don't forget as well because I hate sitting there
thinking what was that thing that I was thinking of yeah definitely write
everything down or type it into my phone and then always keep my calendar updated
as well so yeah a routine lists calendar keeps me on track but I do have to say
there are days where our little guy you just needs me all day you know and it's
so good that I do work from home so I can move things around I'm very very
grateful for that and yeah he's my priority so all the
lists the calendars and everything just go out the window okay so that's under
the eyes done and I just use my models prefer Agni
fusion concealer it's fantastic okay now on to the eyes and for my everyday
makeup look I just used cream eye products because you don't need a brush
to blend it in and everything I just use my finger to apply and blend and then
I'm done so these two here I've been using a combo of this is the Australis
crave for color eyes and then this is a double-ended product here but I really
only just use this bronze aside and it's by Rimmel and it's their magnifies in
Queens of the bronze stage I love it Queens of the Stone Age so this one here
I use first all over the lid
so as I said routine is what I follow guys the other thing which is huge for
me is I have to make sure that I'm healthy and I've got energy because yet
that gets me through my lists and keeps me productive and that's pretty much
yeah my huge tip for balancing everything because yeah if I'm healthy
and I've got energy I can keep up with everything you know sort of blend in
around the edges here I must admit guys the first year of
being a mum I have to say my my health I I just didn't have my health as a focus
it was just all about him and it is still definitely all about him
but I know that I need to focus on my health now to be the best mum that I can
be for him so yeah the last few months I've really gotten back on track with
looking after my health and then going in with the Rimmel and magnifies as I
said I just use this society which is four prongs each shade I just put it on
the outer corner and then I blend it out so as I said yeah health is huge for me
because yeah if I'm healthy I've got the energy to keep up with everything I even
got some blood tests done the other day just to make sure that you know I've got
all my levels correct and everything and they are thank goodness I'm very very
grateful because I'm still breastfeeding so breastfeeding can take a toll so I
just wanted to make sure everything was all good and then I just blend that out
as well and just sort of blend it in with that Toby shade I love this this
look and the two shades together I like that it's got like a little bit of a
sheen to it as well so it gives it a little bit of a dimension it's just so
quick to do as well okay so back on to health I always make sure I have
my water intake I know everyone says that but especially if you're
breastfeeding you need more than the recommended daily intake so I always
carry a water bottle with me so taking my daily supplements is so important to
me as well I just want to make sure that I'm safe guarding my health long term as
well for example I take these ones here which is the caltrak calcium and vitamin
D supplements I always have them right there on the kitchen bench because my
days just go so quickly I need them in eyesight so that yeah I make sure that I
take them every day also staying active I'm always everyday out and about going
for walks I absolutely love it but it's been so good with our little guy as well
because every afternoon we go for a walk and you know that sort of that 4:00 to
6:00 in the afternoon they're fussy period I just put him in the pram and we
just get going and yeah he loves it I love it gives me clarity gives me that
exercise for the day as well and he doesn't have that fussy period so yeah
definitely staying active and I just do as much as I can but that I can fit in
as well if I got one of those activity trackers for Christmas so I'm making
sure that I'm doing my steps everyday and everything like that but yes staying
active is huge for making sure that I'm keeping my health in check and keeping
my energy up as well because there are times where I'm like I don't really feel
like going but then I feel so much better and then I get extra things done
when I get back because I am feeling so good now I'm just using my little
bourgeois eyeliner here I don't do this like every day I do this more if I want
to define the eyes a little bit more so I thought I'd do it today and show you
guys but I just put it along the eye line and then just smudge it out and
then using my eye of horus eye pencil this one is in mood I'm just putting it
on the waterline I always like to use a nude shade on the
if I've got tired eyes because it brightens up my eyes but yet sometimes I
work a little bit late at night because sometimes that is like the only time I
can get stuff done but I really do try and get my 8 to 9 hours sleep at night
I'm one of those people when my head hits the pillow I'm asleep which I'm
very very grateful for how I have got to that gotten to that point is not looking
at my phone when I go to bed also defusing lavender in our room as
well essential oils having a chamomile tea before I go to bed as well and also
just to make sure that I'm not sort of thinking of things for the next day and
everything is write everything down or type it into my phone as I said earlier
and then just forget about it just be like ok I'll think about that in the
morning at the moment I'm going to sleep so definitely getting my 8 to 9 hours
each night helps with my productivity and balancing everything the next day as
well okay and then going in with my mascara this is still my absolute
favorite mascara which is the L'Oreal mega volume miss baby roll I'll do a
close-up of the wand but it really does get in at the base of the lashes and
really using that sort of false lash look which I love I'll show you guys
I use this so much I may need to get a new one but yeah you can definitely see
the difference that it gives my lashes you can see the difference there I
absolutely love this mascara so other things that I do to make sure that I'm
productive and balancing everything because I work from home I have to make
sure otherwise I get distracted during the day that the house is clean and
decluttered that's another thing as well I try and film when I do do decluttering
of certain sections of our house and then I do a lot of behind the scenes as
well just on a regular basis declutter clean just on the go because I find that
our things are messy and so forth I just you know my attention is pulled that way
I don't know why but it's just I can't focus on things when parts of the house
messy and I'm talking not surface mess because that's just easy to clean and
that's just normal with a little one you know but yeah just clutter and
everything I always want to make sure that that's always clean so yeah
definitely keeping the house organized is a huge priority for me because as I
said once that's done I feel like I can focus on other things it even gets to a
point sometimes where I'm like okay so one of our lovely grandmas would you
like to look after Maki and I just do an hour of power I just get the vacuum out
the steamer and everything and just go hard for an hour and that's an hour lot
well spent because yep you just feel so good afterwards it's a good workout too
okay so that is eyes done now onto the cheeks I do a little contour I like to
use my benefit hoola for himself
and just frame the face a little
and I'm a blush lover so I don't really have sort of like a go-to blush I just
have a look each day and see which one I like to use and today I'm going to use
the bomb frat-boy
and on an everyday basis I don't really use like a specific highlighter on the
cheekbones or anything I just go over with a dusting of my hourglass ambient
lighting in luminous light it just sets my makeup and just gives that sort of
more radiant finish
for brows I still love my paula's choice little brow kit here and I use the
darker shade on the outer brow and then the lighter shade on the inner
okay now this is always the hardest part when I'm getting ready is what a
lipstick so it's out of these two here which are both the Kate Rimmel lipsticks
they are the lasting finish ones and I love number 42 and number 45 so I'll try
42 first and show you guys
so that is number 42 sometimes I think it's too light for me but yeah try 45
yeah that's the one all right so we are all done and that is a look at my
everyday makeup and also some little tips as well on how I balance everything
and stay on top of everything I know there are so many busy mums out there so
