Ella to Kandy by train | MOST BEAUTIFUL TRAIN RIDE | Sri Lanka | Vlog | #006 - Duration: 9:38.
Servus, Moin Moin what's up guys it's JoVi Travel we're here at Ella train station the Sun
is about to rise and we will take the train from Ella to Kandy which is supposed
to be one of the most beautiful train rides on the world so we're really
excited now so now going to get the ticket for the train ride good morning can I
get to second class tickets to Kandy please?
Second class is over there.
So Joe just jumped into the train to reserve as a seat and it's really
crowded and other people went crazy to get a seat so we're really lucky we got
one and the train ride is about to start in a few minutes excited so we got a
nice seat and we're gonna have breakfast first
so we've been driving for roughly three hours that one who just passed Nuwara Eliya
is really crowded in a train out and the right is really nice we have a good view
the landscape is beautiful there green tea plantations and forrests
If you get onto the train in Ella there is no problem to find a seat, but if you get on the train like in Nuwara Eliya you might want to get a reserved seat.
There are three different classes in the train. You have the third class which is mainly for the locals and its just hard wooden benches to sit on.
And then there is the second class, which you can either have as reserved seats or not.
We got the not reserved seats for 230 rupees.
There is also the first class with an observatory deck and you have a good view there.
So we just arrived at Kandy train station and the ride was beautiful for
the last two hours we were sitting next to the door with our feet outside and
the air blowing through our hair and actually as the kilometres went by you
could really see how the elevation was declining and the climate was changing
like the cloud forests were the pine trees and I could lift his trees was
changing into palm trees and it's a lot warmer here and quite dry
actually train rides here and experience for himself with all the vendors walking
around you can get fresh samosas other fresh fried vegetable things I had our
enjoy yeah I have actually no idea what they're selling but it's delicious and
you can get sweets and the fresh Sri Lanka milk tea so you're not starving
and you can really enjoy the ride of course they try to rip us off all the
time but but you can ask the locals what actual prices so you always say but you
can you can just watch what the others are paying yeah and actually if you just
tell them that's not a real price that you're smiling and give me the real
price sometimes and we arrived at the train station we had problems to get out
of the Train because the other people who are going through the Colombo with a
train we're already pushing in so crazy yeah so we had to wrestle our way out
and we couldn't even get our backpacks out we had to push them through the
window so we get them you could barely breathe it was just crazy we really
struggled with getting not only our staff but also ourselves outside so
we're now gonna get on their way to a hotel and then take a bus yeah it's a
bit from from train station yeah and then we're
gonna explore candy good morning so after we arrived in candy yesterday
evening we didn't do much anymore and so we're gonna explore we're gonna have
some breakfast so another morning with the typical Sri
Lankan breakfast they're gonna go for samosas
we were just gonna get someone in there

that's gonna catch the next bus the city center
we never arrived at the central bus station and we're looking for the bus to
the Royal Botanical Garden and we're still hungry so we're gonna get some
more samosas

so we just found out that the entrance fee for the Royal Botanical Garden is 1500
rupees and thats actually too much for us because we have seen botanical gardens
like this for many times and on the pictures it doesn't look that special so we're just gonna head
back into the city and never look at the city center and Kandy is all about
like side and I mean I just relax we made it to the lake here
in Kandy now it's a very busy and crowded city and very loud but actually
we don't like it that much there's not really much to do
they're super technical garden but it's not that special if you're from a
western country you've probably seen thousands of Botanical Gardens before
and there's the Tooth Temple which is really important for the Buddhists so
it's incredibly crowded and there's the royal palace and the lake when the lake
is okay but it's still very crowded here so tomorrow we're gonna head to the
mountainside again and see a tea plantation near Nuwara Eliya because when we
went to the tea plantation in the factory was closed there was no
production so we will hopefully see something tomorrow
and you're really looking forward to that to a more quiet and peaceful place

I went to Queenscliff for about a week
And they had beautiful clean beaches and you can snorkel and actually see stuff, and it gets really deep really quickly
So Queenscliff is great. I go camping at Ocean Grove every year, and they have beautiful beaches as well. That's near like Geelong
Barwon Heads and also Mount Martha amazing beaches really clean beautiful instagram-worthy
probably Torquay
Torquay is really nice beach in Melbourne
other than that
St Kilda a lot for, not surf-wise but just to chill out with you mates
Probably Altona
I've heard Port Melbourne's alright, but I've only really gone to Altona so I'll lock in Altona
St Kilda Beach only one I go to but it's pretty good like lots of people everywhere
And there's a pier and rocks with like penguins on them sometimes, so yeah, it's pretty cool
